dean is crazy cause he gets worse and worse as the seasons go on and experiences zero narrative consequence for it. in fact he is pretty much rewarded for becoming a worse version of himself. like that’s INSANE. hes bojack horseman if everyone loved him and stuck with him and very rarely told him anything he did was wrong and in fact whenever he did things like destroying todd’s rock opera because he didn’t want todd to leave the narrative switched it up and went SURPRISE!! the guy interested in todd’s rock opera was EVIL anyway and bojack just SAVED THE WORLD. by doing this awful selfish thing. yep he was right all along. letting sarah lynn die? turns out that was exactly the right thing to do. well done bojack. what a hero.

i have done...an absolute deep dive into blues and folk music tonight. it was 100% one of those blink and three hours have passed type of deals. worth it though.
#be warned if you go into the tags i will explain how this all came up. educational but long!#so it started with two questions. mostly because i live in the ozarks i wanted to know and secondly i like music if you haven't caught on#(btw i am so giving you guys the quick and easy version if you are reading this at all)#anyway. the first question was 'why does the ozarks have such a country influence but also bluegrass but also blues but also folk but al-'#because while i grew up in stl i am now like. living living in the ozarks right? right. and i for sure can see how we are the like...#the little sibling of the appalachian mountains. and i thought it was just cause aw cute mini mountains (highlands people)#but instead its cause there were settlers from appalachia! which makes a ton of sense now seeing influences and culture etc etc#so we cleared up that. we know why the ozarks is the way it is (or at least part of it)#btw anyone who says branson is a “true reflection” of the ozarks is out of their damn minds.#that shit is tourist central and just drives me up the wall. they are playing a parody of themselves is the best way to describe it#caricature maybe??? point is. “h'yuck h'yuck we're the country jubilee!” is not uhhhh ozarks and never was?#like it was but they took it a step further. so. anyway#can you tell i'm fixated on this right now? moving on! question 2 was quite literally 'what genre is this song'#it's 'fault line' by black rebel motorcycle club (which i highly suggest everyone listen to)#but i was like hmmm very bluesy harmonica but just fingerpicking guitar so that's more folksy#so! i went on a deep dive of what technically considers blues blues and what folk is. and guess what! the ozarks play into this too#because! the thing is that the ozarks is weird. st louis is technically not in the ozarks but on the outskirts. and stl is influenced by...#the mississippi delta! therefore blues music which led to rock and roll etc#(that's a whole other tangent for another day on stl and blues and rock and roll)#but anyway it makes sense that once you have folks from stl area coming down to the ozarks then you also have that combo of...#mississippi delta and appalachia music. so then we go back to “fault line” right?#i have declared it folk mostly because it definitely doesn't follow traditional blues progression or call and response.#so anyway. deep dive tonight was basically what is this song's genre and how does that wrap into where i live!#which also. brmc is like...usually listed as a “rock” band from san francisco which hey! awesome.#but like. from the songs i've heard and especially causing me to do this deep dive...they do not strike me as a californian band#music is cool! regions are cool! culture is cool! i just like to see how it's all spread out ya know?#if you've read this far gold star! i hope you've learned something tonight from reading the ramblings of a fixated person#i'm rambling again aren't i

#last night was really so so so fun and it was super hard to get myself to go out? like#in the sense of I really wanted to because I knew it would be fun but I also knew my anxiety was eating me alive#and it would be an obstacle getting through that without alcohol and I need to be … careful#but I got fun drunk and didn’t have too bad of a hangover and didn’t feel super anxious once we got out :#and a different friend wants to make plans for tonight but I am really bad at making plans in advance because sometimes I physically can’t#do things after work bc tired bc neuro disorder and it’s frustrating to my friend with severe control issues#bc she needs to make specific plans like a week out and I’m like erm babe I can’t like#do that? and then if I don’t feel well day of and need to be home she gets (rightfully) frustrated because I’m bailing but it’s#challenging. and you don’t understand unless you live with it.#and it’s frustrating for us both. I don’t want her to think I don’t value her because I do and I force myself out often enough bc I#genuinely feel bad. but it’s so fucking hard sometimes . she also lives sort of far so going from work and having#to drive an hour to her place to then go somewhere and be out like#I’m spent before I even get there#friend I saw last night and I don’t talk consistently but when we do it’s always the same vibe and so fun and we just catch up about life#I feel like when I see my other friends they have things to always talk about because they’re in a discord call almost every night#I don’t have the energy!!!!!!!!!! like I’m so sorry that’s so much for me#idk she isn’t answering me now but if she wants to do something I need to know in the next hr bc if not I’m literally going to bed#I love her but there’s a disconnect between us rn and I don’t know how to mend that gap#but I do love her friendship so I’m just like. sigh#idk it would be different if she was closer and I know that#I hope getting back on medication helps get me being more social again. I’m just so tired this week that speaking is hard lol

#sorry for not getting to my asks ive been teaching 9-4 all week and doing stuff after .. i.e. class my moms bday and roommate touring#which is working out hORRIBLY#so far everyone has either cancelled or. ghosted me#other than a guy who loves the place but determinedly said he can't pay utilities#and we need someone by the 1st#and my landlord is hounding me so badly#and i have to drive two hours tonight#right after 4#to get to my mom's bday dinner with family#i am#it's just been a marathon#and im so upset abt the roommate thing#esp since ive been blamed for not doing enough by my currently. disabled roommate#who has to take care of herself ofc#but doesnt do any chores and didnt help at all and I SAT IN THE ER WITH HER FOR HOURS#its just. i am so tired. and can't afford rent without someone. and will have to beg on my knees to my landlord to give us more time to fin#someone.#and it will work. but. at what cost#i seriously wish i moved#geez sorry to rant im fine and will be fine.#its just a lot#the two hours of driving tonight is really bothering me#caitie blabs

y’all. I have not been back to my house in 5 days because of the snow. a couple from church is being so kind and hosting my housemate and I (and cooking us great food!) because we live off a steep half-mile gravel driveway and our cars can’t make it up 😂

I love being a polytheist so much.
Me and my mum visited the city today and Hermes kept sending signs to us all day, it made me so happy knowing he was with us.
At first I felt his presence while we were bussing in, I was kind of confused as I was listening to ‘Pomegranate Seeds’ and that’s Persephone’s song
Later a feather I was following with my eyes landed on my shoe while I was walking
On the way home we got the only 2 seats left on the bus (they were next to each other which was nice)
And all throughout the day mum kept getting texts about her driving exam in all the places she’d first been tested on it

Getting up at 5.45 tomorrow to go to a work seminar in Manchester at 9 to hopefully get back home for around 6.30 so I have time to make it to Leicester so I can go cinema with my mum and watch the Edward Scissorhands ballet broadcast at 7 so I can get back home for probably around 11pm so I can go to bed and get up for work again the next day at 6.55
#Originally I was meant to be going on my own so I was gonna get the train up tonight and stop overnight#But then they say oh this coworker is going also :) and he can drive so you can both take the pool car :)#And he hates to be away from home so we just going to Manchester and back in a fucking day and doing a days work in the process#I'm gonna have to rack up about £70 in taxi fees and honestly I'm not even sure they'll approve the second taxi#Cuz that'll be from his home to Leicester which is like double the distance than my home#Which is really annoying cuz otherwise I could've got the bus for £2#God it's gonna be like 5-7 hours in transit tomorrow depending on traffic#I'm gonna be really annoyed if I miss the showing as well cuz that was planned in before the seminar#Oh and I don't get overtime so there's not really any way I can claim back those hours spent in travel#On god I need the financial stability to go down to 4 days a week 😭😭😭😭
