Its sad to know that fandomizer-25 is gone

Hey, Anon,

I just found out about Octi's disappearance, and it is so sad indeed! I didn't know she's gone until I checked out her blog :( I haven't been active here for a long time due to health issues and too many responsibilities, and coming back to this was pretty sad to be honest!

I wish I could've done anything to make her stay, but I guess it's too late. I do understand her decision though. Unfortunately, only few people stay in fandoms forever. Too many of them chose to leave one day, and so did Octi.

My heart is heavy but full at the same time! Full of wonderful memories of her art and our interactions, they always made me smile - even on days that weren't that happy.

I feel like we're not only losing a great artist and talented writer, but also a loyal supporter and an amazing friend.

I don't know if you'll ever read this, Octi, but I will miss you a lot, and Tumblr won't be the same without you...

Maybe you'll come back someday and if you do, we'll be here for you. And if you don't, I hope you know how much you mean(t) to some people round here - including me!

i've been so fucked up for months i haven't been able to go downtown to pick up my work from last spring from my school's textile studio and they always have a cutoff date like if you don't pick up your old work by x date they toss it and they're pretty strict about that unless you arrange with the studio tech beforehand, and the studio tech doesn't like most people she's pretty curt with most students. not rude but just keeps things professional and a bit distant, a very serious person. but i know she grew to like me over the past few years/warmed up to me a lot and we'd chat a lot about different textile things and she would say really kind things to me a lot which felt rare and special, and she let me have special treatment with some of the equipment because she trusted me to use it properly. and i haven't seen her in nearly a year and i expected her to have tossed my work out when i didn't come to pick it up last fall and emailed her to explain why and dropped off the face of the earth, i made my peace with losing that work and accepted it, it is what it is, i will survive, etc.

but she emailed me earlier this week and said she didn't have the heart to toss my work and has kept it safe in her office for me if i'm ever able to come pick it up and if not she's going to keep it as an example piece to show other students when teaching weaving because it's too lovely to get rid of and my heart swelled like 10 times its size bc she didn't have to do that and it meant so much to me that even a year from seeing her last she was still thinking about me and being kind to me. and i emailed her back and picked it up today and saw her and we chatted for a bit and it was so nice. I love her I miss my school's textile studio and weaving in there and talking craft with her... sigh

To those of you who feel lost because you never imagined being around on earth for this long: I see you. You are doing amazing - spectacular, honestly, and I mean that in the most beauiful way. I know how hard it is to feel like this, just know that it can be okay. Please be gentle with yourself. It's okay to feel lost - it's okay to be lost. There doesn't have to be a set "plan" for your life, just be here with us.

A lovely story of Elvis on set of "Paradise Hawaiian Style," by actress Irene Tsu.

Principal photography in Paradise, Hawaiian Style began in Hawaii on July 27, 1965 (with the working title of "Hawaiian Paradise") and finished on September 29, 1965 in Los Angeles.

"It was the very first day on set and I was so nervous. So I decided to go take a nap and if I was needed on set, they would call me. I went to my trailer and the air conditioner wasn’t working. I was just hysterical - really hysterical. I walked around the set when I discovered a big hut and thought there would be air conditioning inside.

All of a sudden, there was a hand stopping me. And I was told, 'That's Elvis' dressing room. You can't just go in. I’m going to have to ask if you're allowed.'

Security let me in and I ended up taking a nap on a couch in the cool area. Elvis was near me looking at me when I woke up. He was putting a cold compress on my face. He thought I must have passed out or something.

He was absolutely beautiful. I didn’t even know what to say because I was so shocked. And then he went, 'Don’t worry about it. I just want you to feel good. Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat? Are you thirsty?' I couldn’t even talk! I was overwhelmed by his presence. He smelled like baby powder and milk. And he kept insisting if I needed or wanted anything.

We became friends while working together. We were united by our admiration for martial arts and spiritual ideals."

MY OPINION SECTION: If you remember the behind the scenes story on Elvis's personal life, he was miserable with the Hollywood contracts for a while... 1965/1966 weren't his best years emotionally. Elvis was feeling terrible with how his career was going at that time, musically and cinematographically. It's really cute to me how gracious and generous with his time and attention he was even when he was feeling terrible inside. Skeptical people would say "Oh she was a very attractive woman and he was just hitting on her." It could be, but do you really think he needed tactics to get girls? He was Elvis! Besides, there's reasons to believe he was just being genuinely worried about Irene. EP was a very caring man since always. That story reminded me of Elvis on August 11, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida. There's pictures of him holding the hand of a fan who fainted after seeing him in person at the hotel he was staying in. If Elvis wasn't the huge music star he was - but still had the financial means to do so - I bet he would have been an excellent doctor or caregiver of any kind. That man had so much love to give!

Hello. As a non-Jewish supporter of Israel and a citizen of the U.S, I am appalled by the antisemitism that is happening in my country and around the world. I know that the news has been crazy lately as reports of hate crimes against Jews surface time and time again. I just wanted and needed to tell someone in your country that I hope you won't judge the entire U.S. based on what's being reported. You have friends here, and we are many! I just wish that the news stations would publicly proclaim that many of us are hurt and appalled at what you are going through. We stand with Israel!

The reports on antisemitism have been so scary, and inexplicable in a sense. In what world does a marginalized group that was massacred, get even more hate and attacks for it?

But please don't worry, we don't think that the US (or any country) is made up of only antisemites. In fact, we do hear the reports that in the US, there is a higher support for Israel than in some other countries, which means a lot.

It means everything to know that you reached out to say that we're not alone. It matters to me, and I'm sure it matters to every single Jewish person reading your message. And I hope that, as much as possible, you are able to speak for us if you come across anyone there de-humanizing us. And I said, we won't forget those who were silent, but we also won't forget our friends. So please know that you have friends here as well!
