Lalna mulled his question over, trying his best to phrase it. “What did it feel like? Being possessed?”
“Like a god used my body for nefarious reasons.” Xephos responded dryly. Lalna had to snicker at that, but after he sobered his curiosity still wasn’t satiated.
“But, I mean, genuinely, what did it feel like? I'm curious. I can’t say I’ve ever been possessed by a god,” Lalna joked.

He was staring at you again. Jungkook knew his staring could be noticed, and that’s why he’d requested for you to be placed somewhere more convenient for him. That way, people would just assume he was looking at the stage, not at you.
Jungkook always loved going to awards. He used to hate it- the cameras following him constantly, watching his reaction for everything. But now, it was the one thing he enjoyed about their comeback. He’d get to see you again, after all.
After not seeing you (in person) for so long, it was understandable that he wanted to make the most of it. While the members often got frustrated when he ignored them in favour of staring at you, Jungkook couldn’t bring himself to care. All he cared about was you, his goddess.
When he wasn’t watching you in person, he’d be re-watching your videos. You worked solo, so he could focus his attention solely on you- like it should be. And hopefully, one day, you’d come to focus on him, and him alone, too.
His phone buzzed in his hands, the sound of a notification coming through. Hands fumbling desperately, he unlocked his phone. Jungkook had all alerts but yours on silent, meaning this was about you. It was important. More important than his bandmates who were trying to call him back to practice. He ignored their pleading, clicking on the post, his lips pursed together nervously.
“Jungkook, our break’s over. Come on, what could be so important anywa-” Hoseok tugged at his sleeve, growing silent when Jungkook pushed him away. While the older said nothing, he frowned. Jungkook had been doing this a lot recently, he was worried- they all were. Hoseok knew he shouldn’t, but he couldn’t help but be curious. It could be hate messages Jungkook spent all his time staring at, and he wasn’t about to let him do that to himself.
However, when Jungkook caught Hoseok staring at his phone- at a picture of you- he wasn’t too pleased. Hoseok didn’t deserve to know anything about you. He definitely didn’t deserve to see that picture. That picture was a personal favourite of his. It was from your most recent fanmeet- one Jungkook desperately wished he could attend. You were sat, a flower crown on your head and a fond smile on your face. It was beautiful. Jungkook liked to imagine that your smile was directed at him, and the thought made his heart flutter- which is exactly why Hoseok wasn’t allowed to see it.
“Y/n?” The elder of the pair muttered, confused. He’d assumed Jungkook had been reading something negative, but instead, he just saw your face. A sly grin spread across his face, an eyebrow raising at the younger teasingly. “Oh, I see. But why look at those cutesy photos when you could see her fine-”
“Shut up.” Jungkook snapped, “I’ll be back in a minute. Start without me.”
Hoseok scurried away awkwardly, leaving the fuming male alone. He’d just found out that you’d be having a comeback soon, something that should be great news.  But, of course, Hoseok had to come and ruin things by making those comments about you.
A few weeks later, the seven members of BTS are seated around a long table, their boss at the end and various other staff filling in the gaps.
They were tired, which was only natural after having finally completed their first set of concerts. It had been hell for Jungkook. Their schedule was too tight to allow enough time for him to catch up on your activity. On top of that, once they had finished up, he was too tired to do anything but rest. Even now, after finally returning to Korea, they were sat in a meeting room to discuss work.
“Your new album has already been released, a major success. Congratulations. Now, it’ll be a while until your next album, especially with the tour. We need something to keep your fans’ attention while you’re away. You’re going to be busy, there might not be enough time for the things we normally do. However, we do have enough time for something slightly different.” The man paused briefly, “I think a collaboration would be beneficial. I’d like you all to think about who you’d like to work with, alright? I’ll give you a week.”
Once the staff had left, the seven men turned to each other, ready to discuss their thoughts.
Jungkook’s eyes lit up, his mouth opening before he had the chance to think about it properly. “Y/n!”
The silence that filled the room was unsettling, which confused Jungkook. He’d thought there’d be more of a reaction. But as he looked around, everyone was avoiding his gaze.
Finally, Namjoon spoke up. “I don’t think that’s such a good choice-”
Jungkook jumped in immediately, “Why not?” What could possibly be a bad choice about you, the goddess of his world. Again, he was met with a heavy silence. So, he pushed again, looking pointedly at the others in the room.
This time, Jimin answered, “She’s…just a bit…you know…”
“Yeah, anyone but her.” Seokjin nodded his head. “Sorry, Kook, she’s just…”
“A slut.” Yoongi finished, shrugging as he explained himself. “That’s what the media says anyway,”
But by now, Jungkook wasn’t listening. He was fuming with anger, his eyes dark and crazed. His hand slammed onto the table, and he stood up, fists clenched in anger. “And you really believe everything the media says?! How fucking dare you, all of you! I can’t believe this.”
Taehyung’s hand patted his shoulder, “Kook, calm down-”
“No!” He pushed the male off him, scoffing. “Really, you’d think after all the media’s said about us, you’d be the least likely to hop on the hate train. Clearly, I was wrong. I didn’t know you thought like that, like them.”
With that, the youngest of the group stormed out, ignoring all of their pleas and shouts. They didn’t deserve to be listened to, not after what they said about you.
Jungkook locked his door, refusing to speak to the members no matter how many times they begged him to come out of his room.
He stared at his phone for a good few hours, hands shaking as he finally clicked on an article about you…and your dating scandal.
There was you, and some worthless bastard, kissing, holding hands, hugging. All the things Jungkook was supposed to do with you. All of the privileges that bastard had stolen from him. Jungkook kept scrolling, the burning anger in him only worsening when he saw similar pictures, but with another rat. Candle-lit dinners, matching outfits, he hated it all.
Jungkook roared in anger, throwing his phone against the wall before immediately rushing to the broken shards, eyes filled with tears as he cried, realising what he’d done. He couldn’t stay updated on you without a phone.
He sat, rocking himself back and forth with cuts in his hands from the glass shards. He’d just destroyed his one link to you, all because he got angry. All because of his stupid jealousy.
No. He wouldn’t have gotten jealous if it weren’t for those bastards taking advantage of you. It was their fault his phone was destroyed. Your company had probably hired them to ruin you, he knew they’d never really liked you. They treated you so horribly. And now, they were even forcing you to date. Didn’t they know you already had Jungkook? He loved you, so much, more than any of those fake boyfriends. Jungkook would do anything for you. All he had to do was get you to see that.
The next morning, Jungkook woke up especially early, leaving the dorm before any of the other members had even woken up. He had important business to do, after all.
“You’ve really decided on someone already?” His boss asked, seemingly surprised. “I thought it would’ve taken you guys a little longer to agree, honestly. So, who is it?”
“Y/n.” He answered, trying his best to remain calm when the man opposite him frowned. “We know about the scandal, and that’s exactly why we think it’s her we want to work with.”
Another frown. “Really? All of you agree on this?” Jungkook nodded, eliciting a sigh. “Alright then. I’ll contact her agency.”
Jungkook didn’t leave his room even after that, for two reasons. Partly, it’s because he’s still angry with the other members. However, also, it’s part of his plan. Jungkook’s known them long enough to know they’ll care more about his health than their work. If he doesn’t come out- even for food- the members won’t even remember the collaboration, so they can’t tell his boss anything other than what he claimed. That, and they’ll all be so guilty about upsetting him, they won’t get angry when he does tell them.
So, a day before you’re supposed to visit, Jungkook finally unlocks his door. Although he has to lean against the wall for support, he manages to make it to the shared lounge of the dorm, where six men are sitting.
Their reaction is instantaneous. Jimin runs towards him, his head hanging in shame and tears in his eyes as he throws his arms around the male, muttering apologies.
“We’re going to work with Y/n, tomorrow.” Jungkook informs the rest, watching carefully as their eyes widen. However, just as he expected, no one protests at all. “I’m sorry, I wanted to prove that the rumours aren’t true. She’s-”
He cuts himself off, clutching at his head with short gasps. Jungkook’s head is spinning, waves of pain shooting through his head. He can barely stand at this point, the exhaustion finally catching up with him. Because of that, he doesn’t have it in him to resist when he’s guided to sit down, plates full of food presented in front of him.
After he’s finished, Namjoon speaks up, “Jungkook, can I suggest something?” The male narrows his eyes, but nods nonetheless. “You know we…aren’t so keen on working with Y/n…so, perhaps it could be just you and her?”
Jungkook chuckles, “What, want to put the blame on me alone?” Namjoon immediately goes to defend himself, but Jungkook cuts him off. “I’m fine with that, don’t worry. It’ll give you guys time to rest.” And me time alone with Y/n…
“We’re not the ones that need to rest,” Taehyung speaks softly, eyes shining with worry, but Jungkook is quick to brush it off, reassuring him.
The next day Jungkook is feeling much better. Admittedly, he’d overestimated his body a little. But it was all worth it. He’d do it over and over again, all for you. He’d do anything for you.
The members were still worried about him, and even tried to make him stay in bed to rest, but he refused. He couldn’t rest when you were coming. Besides, seeing you in person would give him more energy than sleep ever could.
Jungkook’s humming in delight as he stands waiting in the lobby, doing his best to hold back his squealing when he sees your company car arrive. He’s learnt to recognise it over the years. Finally, finally, he’s going to speak to you, to work with you. You’re going to sing with him. He shivers in excitement. A duet, how romantic.
The first thing Jungkook notices when you walk in is how tired you appear; it breaks his heart to see you like that. Still, you muster up a smile for him, greeting politely.
Once greetings are done with, he leads you to a recording studio. He can tell there’s something you want to ask about, and, well, he has a pretty good idea of what it is. But he’s not about to bring it up. Jungkook doesn’t exactly what to talk about his bandmates with the love of his life. He’d much prefer if you just focused on him, like he focuses solely on you.
“I produce from time to time, but I’m not as good as you…so I hope you can teach me a few things,” Jungkook speaks, pulling a chair from under the desk for you, and then finding one for himself.
“I’m sure you’ll do fine,” You smile at him, and Jungkook swears his heart skipped a beat. To see such beauty in person is astounding, really, he can barely believe he’s got this far. And, damn, was your voice beautiful. The best thing he’s ever heard, for certain. “So, do you have any ideas?”
Jungkook nods, suddenly feeling shy. It’s no surprise, really. Even he gets nervous around such stunning beauty. “A love song. You have a beautiful voice, Y/n, I think it would go nicely,”
He blinks at you innocently, his gorgeous gaze scanning your face, searching for some kind of reaction. You can’t tell him that you don’t want to, that it’d be uncomfortable. You have to be polite, you remind yourself. You’re in the middle of a dating scandal- a love song wouldn’t be good.
Jungkook had noticed your awkward shuffling the second he mentioned love songs. He’d expected that- it was why he suggested it in the first place. To get you to open up about the scandal, about what really happened, he’d have to make you squirm.
“Is there a problem, Y/n?” He pushed, smiling at you once again.
You bit your lip, a sight that had Jungkook’s eyes hooked on your lips. “It’s just…” You sighed, leaving your sentence unfinished. Looks like Jungkook would have to try harder to dig up the truth.
“Y/n,” He hummed, “Tell me what’s bothering you, yeah? I’m not going to tell anyone, I promise,”
You smiled bitterly, “The other members didn’t come…it’s because they don’t like me, right? They know, don’t they?”
His silence was killing you. You glanced up nervously, to find Jungkook glaring down at you. You gulped, about to say something else when he began to laugh. Not a laugh, laughing would be comforting. The sound that came out Jungkook’s mouth was anything but comforting. It was utterly terrifying. However, what was worse than his laugh, was when it abruptly stopped.
“Why are you talking about them when I’m right here?” He growled out, a smile still on his face. Even his smile made you shiver. Jungkook’s hand shot out, gripping onto your chin. “You know, while we’re alone, I have some questions.”
Your breathing quickened, eyes wide with fear. You had to leave. Carefully. Somehow, you managed to wriggle out of his grasp, standing up with an awkward laugh. “I’ll answer all of your questions when I get back. I think we should ask someone for advice on the song-”
Jungkook’s hands slammed you against the wall, caging you in. “There you go again, talking about other people. Y/n, can’t you see? You don’t need them. Not any of them. You only need me. Understand?”
“What are you saying?!” You shriek, fear coursing through your body. He’s insane. He’s actually insane. He had to be joking, right? This is some sick joke, right? In a second, he’s going to step away, and tell you it was all a joke, right? Right?
“What I’ve wanted to say for a long time now, babe.” He sighed, his face nearing yours. “Now, this scandal…tell me, is it true? Did you really think you could do that to me? Did you really think I wouldn’t know?”  When you don’t answer, he slams his hand, barely missing your face, and you flinch in terror. You should’ve never accepted their collaboration offer.
“It’s true. All of it.” You whisper, eyes closed tightly, a weak attempt to comfort yourself.
“I see. Now, sweetheart, you’ve just admitted to doing something wrong, haven’t you? You know what you have to do when you do something wrong. Apologize to me. Tell me you’re sorry for betraying me.”
Tears are streaming down your face now, sobs racking through your body as the words stumble out. “I-I’m s-sorry, Jungkook…”
“Again.” He demands, and you do, trying your best to do as he wishes. You’re too scared to do anything else. Finally, he stops you, smiling down at you adoringly. “Now, I’m going to ask you two more questions, and you have to give me the right answer, understand?” You nod shakily. “Say it, Y/n.”
“I understand!”
“Well done. Now, question one: you aren’t going to betray me like this again, are you? Answer correctly.”
More tears escape your eyes, “No, Jungkook.”
He hums, pleased, “You should say my name more often, it sounds so good from those lips. I’ll forgive you for betraying me, since you’ve apologised. I know your company made you do it in the first place, but you should’ve refused anyway. I would’ve helped you. Now, question two: will you keep working on this song with me?”
You shake your head, refusing to meet his eyes as you whisper your answer, “No, I can’t. I don’t want to.”
Jungkook’s smile twitches as he leans forwards, his cheek brushing against yours as he whispers, “This is your last warning. Answer me properly, sweetheart. I don’t normally give second chances, but just for you…Will you keep working with me?”
Choking back tears, you nod, sealing your fate with the crazed idol. A love song, huh? What a perfect way to start a relationship.
