Buck plopped down onto the couch with a heavy sigh. "Today is a terrible day."

Eddie looked up from the book he was reading, slamming it shut when he saw the sadness on Buck's face. "Why?" he asked, immediately concerned. "You didn't break up with Tommy, did you?"

Buck glared over at him, his sadness replaced annoyance. "Once again, no. Why is that always your first question when I'm having a bad day?"

Eddie settled back into his seat, relieved. Still, he tried to play it cool. "It's just... important to know. So I could comfort you."

"Please," Buck huffed out, crossing his arms over his chest. "Don't lie to me. We all know you'd choose him in the divorce."

Something about how Fire & Ice give up on going after Pearl directly, and instead both arrow in on dissing Marina-

Something about, Pearl having no shame at all, outright telling Frye right off that Off the Hook is here to “take control” and then literally talking over Frye’s turn. Frye’s snarking on how Pearl isn’t the boss here and no one’s cheering for her, ignored. How she goes after both Frye and Shiver asking where Frye’s big friend is to help her pass this test, moving right on to saying they’re both just goons making a mess anyway, little fish who should stay in they're bowl, but

that seems to give Frye the idea of hitting back with the “who’s backing you? Imaginary friends?” line… like Marina doesn’t even count as a music partner- or a friend?

Pearl literally yaps about Marina being divine, one of a kind, voice so fine, big mind- raps the lines off her cuff and the heart that's proudly pinned there

And Frye and Shiver go TARGET DETECTED. They lock onto Marina.

Shiver doesn’t bother trying to needle Marina about Pearl, the way their partners were each doing- if Pearl has no shame then at least she DOES still have a weakness, a soft spot, a thing she openly cares about- something they can try riling her up over

(problem: Pearl actually has all the confidence in Marina as a musician, partner, and performer. She's WATCHED Marina be all those things for YEARS now)

In the end Frye and Shiver just rile up the gay feels. Because Marina’s been living with a rapper who LOVES hyping her up even when they’re not on stage- Pearl who said she’d cut a fish for Marina. And if you don’t come to Inkopolis with a lot of self confidence, well then getting some from your girlfriend is fine too  

But it’s cute that Pearl’s still so obvious about being Marina's no. 1 fan that Fire & Ice thought they could use it against her XD

So I finally had time to sit down and play through 2.3 this week and man I have a lot of Feelings about all of it, but today it's about Gallagher and Mikhail because!

The devotion of a dog! Gallagher's dedication lasting beyond Mikhail's death and then some! The way he let himself be seen through knowing it would mean his own death because it would help to accomplish his and Mikhail's dream! The immense regret and long lasting guilt of not helping Mikhail when he needed him! THE WAY MISHA CALLS GALLAGHER "MY HOUND-"

Ahem. I'm normal I swear. Anyway.

And one of my favorite displays of this undying loyalty? This.

This is the record you unlock in 2.3 after Siobahn brings up Gallagher's death in the Dreamjolt Hostelry. Right after "to the Nameless resting in peace... and to Gallagher."

La Messe de l'athée translates to The Mass of the Atheist. It was a short story about a man who goes to church, and is surprised to see another man whom he knows is an atheist attending mass, all alone. When questioned, the atheist says that he attends for a friend. This friend had banded with him when they were both poor, and acted as a father figure to him. The atheist managed to pull himself from poverty with his help, and did everything he could to repay and take care of his friend thereafter.

The friend died of illness some years later.

The atheist is still an atheist. But he attends mass on the behalf of the religious friend that saved him, and recites the prayers he heard whispered on his deathbed. These borrowed prayers are the closest a man like him could get to being a true believer, but he always holds out hope that those beliefs might enter his head.

There is so much in there, in the story they decided on as our final memento of Gallagher, that this is what was chosen to immortalize him, and ARGH OTL

I will never be normal about how when Liko saw Dot for the first time in episode 15, she thought she had to have forgotten Dot because from how Dot was interacting with her and Roy she assumed Dot was someone she'd always been close with and spent a lot of time with but that was actually their first in person interaction!!!

Dot obviously cared so much about Liko that Liko thought that Dot must've been missing from her memories because she had to have been close with someone for them to care so much about her. She never thought this person would be Dot because she never thought the small things she'd done trying to befriend Dot would result in Dot caring about her THAT MUCH

Guys I need help. I'm writing a fic involving our lovely command batch vode, but I cannot for the life of me decide their age order. Like I think we all agree that Rex is the adopted official batch baby, but otherwise I cannot decide. Every hc tickles my brain in a different way and I love them all.
