Hopefully someone out there can relate , but. In our house food isn’t really common, at least full meals and filling things. Our dad shames us for wanting to eat and how it costs too much so we feel needy. But anyhow due to this we like, constantly are thinking about food nd that’s like the main motivator for us nd it feels a little pathetic. We just want something so yummy and big and delicious. If somebody told us they’d buy us something we’d probably ask for take out or something. Idk how much of a problem this is.

We were able to sleep a little bit longer as we didn’t leave until 9:45 am. However, it’s always rough trying to go to bed in 24 hour daylight. You really have to tire yourself out to sleep.
Sadly, yesterday I got blisters. I had several on my feet. It was hurting so bad I needed the group to stop walking because it felt like someone was slowly tearing off my skin. Well, to help, I did double sock layers (one thin and one wool). I also put on blister cream and wrapped my feet in blister tape. It’s like my feet were cut up and I was using duck tape to keep it from falling apart lol. Even though it doesn’t help with circulation, wrapping my feet with tape helps SOOOO much.
We got to the outskirts of town to go on a hike to see the bird colonies. This was one hell of a hike let me tell you.
Already my feet started hurting, thank you blisters. Our first event was crossing the rivers. These were much bigger than yesterday. I also think my shoes are not “waterproof.” My feet were always wet. What doesn’t help is every time you step on the moss beds, a puddle of water escapes from the ground so you are never safe. For being a “desert” this place is quite wet. Well our guides, Joffery from yesterday and our new guide, Yanik from Germany, helped us ford the rivers. They weren’t huge but some parts went up to your knees. Because of this, we had to take off our shoes and go bare foot in the freezing waters. Well because of my blister situation, I was one of the two people who wore the guides rain boots. So my feet were dryer. At one point, the ford was long so everyone made a huge chain. It was really funny. The best part though? Shayna and Zenia did not want to get their feet wet so Yanik carried them across damsel in distress style! It was so funny!!!
Once we passed the waters, then began the hike. Man this was tough. It was a steep 75 degree climb for 1 hour. As a person with asthma and who is not super athletic, this was rough. We needed to keep moving, but BRUH. I was loosing oxygen. Gladly, we had two groups: the speedsters and the slow pokes. Yanik was also very kind and carried my backpack. We were either on dirt or just piles of rocks. We were also right next to a waterfall. Talk about dangerous. What was worse? It got super foggy at the top. We could only see about 300 feet in front of us. Though only one polar bear has been spotted up here, it was a little spooky.
Eventually, we made it up! What a sight! At the top had various piles of snow, small ponds, and many tiny birds. Mostly sandpipers, little auks, seagulls, and arctic terns. Did you know that the little auk eats 60,000 Calanus a day and the arctic tern flies from pole to pole every year? They are crazy!
Well the fog did not let up so it was like a Halloween film. It was a cool creepy. We sat at the cliffs edge. We couldn’t see the bottom or the cliffs around us. Obviously don’t trip. We sat down to eat turkey sandwiches and black current tea.
We then hiked down. Much much better than up. Obviously no hard cardio. Plus, I get to slow because you really have to watch your steps. About every ten steps you were guaranteed to slip. It was a ride.
After the hike, we had to say goodbye to Joffrey. Joffrey was just so funny! He would make so many jokes. Our groups main one was going to a random part of the trail or after someone said a fun fact, we would all say “WOWWWWWWW”. It was fricken hilarious. Also the motto, “the hike? Easy easy. Yep yep.” Mirren and Joffrey were best buds. Joffrey said “I love you” to him like 5 times. It was so cute.
We then went back to the coal miners hotel for dinner. Man DIS treats us. It was SO GOOD! We had bread fondue cheese bowls, pickled vegetables, various thinly sliced meats, potatoes, and beer. I sat with the teachers, Alex, and Macheila. We chatted about future travels and American sitcoms.
It was also our classmates birthday! We sang happy birthday, of course, and Astrid gave her a new pair of wool socks! It was awesome!
After dinner, a part of the group went to get freshwater samples while the rest of us got ready to bed.

Seungmin never liked your cooking, or at least, he’d often mumble this into his spoon while beginning his second serving. He was probably just being nice, or respectful. Your best friend of four years had never been less.
Aside from the fact the he had a 70 pound golden retriever, never had you once seen a strand of that golden hair cling to the cloth of his winter coats. In the autumn, he would drive you in his hand-me-down ‘91 Mitsubishi to the city where you would tutor the English students just so you wouldn’t have to bear the cold of the subway. In the summers he would toss soju down his throat with you, sitting on the carpet of your living room and turning his head to the side with a hand raised to hide his glass. In the spring, he would remember your birthday--several months before his--and take you to coffee shops and bookstores, then the grocery store (which he knew you hated) and would buy for you the most expensive beef he could find.
You would cook the meat for the two of you, and he would say that he liked it...even if you had charred it black on the edges.
Seungmin flicked at the little aluminum tab on his beer can while he watched you murder yet another plate of perfectly fine vegetables on your stovetop.
“At least it smells nice.” You flipped the circle of white onion.
“It does.” He returned, nonchalant, flicking the beer tab a little poink.
“You’re being uncharacteristically quiet. Too tired to complain about those dicks from the marketing team? They put you on a shitty pitch again didn’t they?”
“Every pitch is a shitty pitch there. God, you wouldn’t believe the kinds of slogans that they make me say sometimes. It’s humiliating.”
“Hey, you’re the one that took the pay raise over that job at that high school.”
“Well, you didn’t have rent staring you dead in the face and a dog that’s practically active and sentient enough to be a real child.” He slugged down a sip of his drink. “I’m a single father you know.”
“As if!” You choked out your laughter. “Since when did you turn into Hyunjin? You were never one for dramatics anyway.”
“Go get your vegetables, they’ll burn.” He nodded his head to the stove. The thing was, they were already burnt.
You salvaged what you could of the vegetables then placed them over your rice balls (not intended to be balls in the first place) and the chicken strips which had undoubtedly been seasoned just a little too much. You slid the ceramic bowl in front of him. At least it was steaming. That was a good sign.
Seungmin nodded a little in thanks, then let out a less than obvious sigh before taking his first bite.
“Spicy...but good.”
The way that his breath sounded thin made it convincing enough to you that it wasn’t just “spicy.”
He scrunched up his face in that adorably puppy-like way that you had long gotten used to.
“Really. Tell me. It isn’t the pitches. Don’t pretend like I can’t read you.”
Your best friend squeezed his eyes shut with a rather generous slug of his beer. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Whaaaat?” You whined a little while opening up your own can. “Oh my god. It’s that girl from the art division. She has a boyfriend doesn’t she? Dammit.”
“No.” Your friend drew the disdain in his eyes up to you from the chicken that had made his nose start to run. He wiped at it quickly.
“I hope it’s not my mother that’s getting to you. She’s too damn nosy for her own good and twice as cocky as she should be. Don’t listen to her. What did she tell you anyway?”
Seungmin poked at his food with his fork then twisted a crispy-tipped red pepper. “Have you talked to him again?”
“--Minho?”
You shied at the memory of meeting him on his morning run two days prior. He would go out at nearly 8:00 on the dot every morning, just when the sun started to peek into the dewy pink and blue mornings.
“You should put on a sweater if you’re going to get up this early for those plants of yours. Don’t want you catching a cold.”
“Yes.” You answered your friend. A tiny ache pinged at your chest--and it wasn’t the kind that felt all twisted. “He asked me to watch the meteor shower with him this weekend. I hope I can cook something edible for him.”
Seungmin’s knee bounced, “Aren’t you at least at little suspicious of him?”
“Suspicious? Why would I be?”
“You hardly even know anything about him, or where he came from, what he does for a living--”
“--Now you’re starting to sound like my mother Seung. Relax. Besides, sometimes it doesn’t take much to feel...comfortable around a person. I mean, look at us! Soju nights started like, three weeks after we met. And I do know where he works. He works for a company that makes windows; fancy ones.”
“Windows?” He cocked a brow.
“He did say that it was kind of boring...”
“I just--” Your friend sighed out, resting anxious hands on his knees. Here he was again, being nice and respectful, like always. “--You could get hurt if you’re not careful.”
“What?”
“I’m saying, don’t get your hopes up.”
“Geez Seung...” Your voice trailed off with a different pain in your chest. This was the kind that twisted.
His expression softened, and he lent a hand to your shoulder, lingering, squeezing lightly. “Your mom...she told me to look after you...not like I do that already with you falling all over yourself and burning things...I don’t want to see you get hurt.”
“Hm. Thanks.”
“You’re also miserable to deal with when you’re sad. You make me blow my grocery budget with how much frickin’ ice cream and freezer tater tots you force me to get.”
“You like those tater tots too though.”
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
Bomi purred in your lap swaddled into a little ball of white, orange, black and brown. She was napping, or rather, trying to nap with the way that her little cat-shaped eyes blinked slowly. You tried your best to soak every little moment of it up: you knew that with her, it would be fleeting. There was something supremely calming about being close to your little furball like this. After all the love that you poured over her in the form of useless cat toys and new cat food every week, this somehow made it all worth it.
You tapped lightly at your keyboard, not too harshly, just lightly enough so that you wouldn’t startle your sleeping cat. The tips of your toes were cold, but you didn’t dare to move to grab a blanket to ruin the moment. Outside, a light spring rain befell on your small cement patio. Droplets of the warm showers patted at the roof of your home softly.
Your eyes had grown tired and dry at this late hour, but the end of the chapter was near. One more time you hovered your mouse over the little notification bar, clicking at it for that one last push of motivation:
Bomi needs to quit MESSING AROUND. Blaze is right in front of her!!! Ahhhh I want them to get together soooo bad
Is Herbie okay?? Poor bb, its so cute how we would do anything for Bomi.
Bomi:
Blaze:
*now kiss*
Are we really getting to the end of Book 1??? This has been such an amazing story N/n, I always look forward to your updates <3 they make my Thursdays hehe
I can feel like something big and bad is coming...oh no...I hope that Blaze and Bomi make it through
A thankful little chuckle hummed on your lips, then you pressed enter to start a new paragraph.
“Oh Bomi,” You exhaled, “If only Blaze knew how you felt too.”
Chapter 27
...The group journeyed through the cavern with flickering white flames dancing and casting shadows on the stone walls dripping in stalactites. Bomi held on to the hilt of her sword tighter with a sense of dread creeping up her throat. Blaze looked onward, much as he had been doing these days.
His leg was wrapped in a bloodied bandage: a reminder of the battle won against the Boar in Hilgram. He had jumped in front of her as he had countless times before.
“Hello??” Blaze’s voice echoed against the long and winding chambers of the cave. In his tone he was confident, but his shoulders still shook with an uncertainty.
Herbie’s little hedgehog feet patted the damp floor, and he looked up at his Princess with fear in his soft black eyes. The little velvet banner wrapped around his body had been torn and tattered from one too many battles.
Had it been darker, Bomi wondered if she had reached out for Blaze’s hand to find in him. She shook her head with her resolve, eyes painfully shut. It was only in the darkness that she allowed herself to want for him.
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
Today must be one of those spring-summer days.
Your warbled reflection chased after you in the blue glass of the university’s library windows. You had hoped that no one was on the other side watching you as you wrinkled up your nose to look like one of those devilish gargoyles that you had been writing of the night before. From the inside, rows and rows of books were lined up perfectly, however there were almost no students inside. It always did make you a little sad how few students would be there when you clocked in for your mandatory office hours.
Spring-summer days meant that the businesswomen on the sidewalks had exchanged with trousers with flowing skirts and little clicky ballet flats and each businessman had his tie and collar tugged down. There was a comforting warmth to the spring air that reminded you of your own college days when you and your friends--long gone now--had stayed up late to study, then would scour the buzzing streets for snacks. Things were much simplier then.
At the library’s entrance, budding tulips and geraniums of light purple hues were greeted by round bumblebees. Had the city not been as loud as it was, you could nearly hear the cicadas in the park on the east edge of the shining silver building.
You bowed slightly to the attendant at the desk who always would smile at you with adorable smiling eyes to match. She would often wear earrings of strange shapes that you had never seen before. She wore a lanyard too that had little cat paw prints decorating it; it was because of this you knew she was someone you could trust.
“Are you having a nice week?” You said to her customarily.
“Oh, I am. It’s always the same around here. My daughter will be having her baby soon! Sometimes I think that I’m more excited than she is.”
“You’ll have to tell me when that happens so I can bring her a gift, okay?”
The attendant smiled warmly, and nodded you off with a little oh, you don’t have to.
“Remember your key card this time?” She watched as you jingled around your own keys with the obsessive amount of plastic and silicon keychains.
You tsked. It seemed like nearly everyone in your life had now known how forgetful you tended to be sometimes.
“Yes. Don’t worry about me. I’ll be over there.”
Once more the two of you exchanged little bows and you made your way over to the back of the four storied library with the atrium of trees in between. There was a marble fountain encircled by the trees that had little oval shaped leaves. Two tiny birds, all black, bounced from branch to branch. It was your secret, but you had written about that fountain many times in your writing, but you were the only one who knew that it was real.
You tapped the reader to hear that familiar do-do doot along with the flash of the green lock. As always, the study room was a bit messy with eraser shavings sprinkled about and the odd dry marker laying next to the trashcan where someone had tried to toss it in, but had missed. The minute hand on the wall clock scooted right on to the 12.
“Are you busy?” That fluff on white hair peeked into your study room just like clockwork.
“For my favorite student? Do you even have to ask?”
Jeongin, the oldest and most attentive student in your class hopped in with his adorably boy-ish charm. Regardless of the fact that he was in the last year of his grad degree, it was impossible for him to look that old. You didn’t have the heart to tell him, but he technically shouldn’t have been in your class for undergrads, but you weren’t going to stop him.
“Why’d you decide to take this class anyway?” You would ask him.
He’d answer, “For fun.” with that cute little smile of his.
“I hope I’m not bothering you.”
“I just got here.” You pulled out a seat for him.
“Oh. Good. I was wondering if you could proof read my short story again. I’m having trouble with the ending. I just don’t think I understand all the way how to make it full circle like you said in lecture.”
He unzipped his leather backpack: obviously a gift from someone in his family that must have thought it would make him look his age. It didn’t. What didn’t help further was how he had adorned it with all kinds of keychains; much like your own keys. It was because of this that you knew he was someone you could trust.
His manuscript already had dozens of scribbles in his own handwriting with tons of question marks riddling the margins.
“Let me take a look.”
You skimmed the pages of the short story--one which you had already read the week prior--for all of his new edits. The notes made it a bit hard to read, but you were used to how he would make a mess of his papers now. He leaned in close to you with glossy eyes that might have even twinkled a little like a cartoon. Both of his knees bounced furiously while he watched you read, and would look from the paper, to your face, then back to the paper, then back to your face...
“Is-is it good? Better?”
Jeongin had written a love story. His first one that you had known of. It was about a boy and a girl who had met on an airplane, and had been seated together. The two of them found out that they had shared so much about their two lives without ever meeting until this very moment. They had realized they went to the same high school, worked in the same building, and were travelling for the same reason: to meet up with someone that they had once loved. It was beautiful, tragic, and in some ways, familiar.
“I think that it’s wonderful Jeongin. The edits that you made to it from last week really help with the narrative flow as well as the vertical plot. You’re really good at asking the deeper questions behind the piece like “why are they really there,” and “why is it important that they are there.” All you need to do is tie it up.”
“But howwww?” Jeongin slumped in his wheely chair. “What should I say?”
“Well...” You tapped your pen to your lip. “The ending scene is when they land at the airport right? Why don’t you have your main character say something that calls back to all of their similarities and makes it seem like they’ve known eachother all along?”
“But I don’t want it to seem like they’re going to forget eachother.”
“They won’t. You established that they’ve both found something different than what they were looking for in the first place.”
Your student’s face tangled up into concentrated knots and he puffed those thin strands of bleached white hair away from his eyes.
“I could say...‘see you at home’? Or...maybe that’s too cheesy--”
“--No it’s not! If you like it, I think that it also fits the story well. Its like, now they understand, and they’ve got something in eachother now that they hadn’t had before; also juxtaposing with your themes of travelling to make a reference to home.”
“Damn, you’re much better at this kind of stuff than I am...” Jeongin wrote down the new ending on his print out.
“Its just...what I like to do.”
“I’m glad I came.” He grinned out with his mischievous and trademark smile. “How’s your story going by the way? Almost finished?”
“Oh...”
A heat rose in your cheeks. You had decided to tell Jeongin about Princess Bomi a few weeks back, but you had neglected to tell him exactly what the story was about. That was a secret better kept to yourself.
“Its...good. I think. My readers seem to really like it.”
“Maybe you’ll let me read it someday. I bet there would be tons of other people who would like to read it too, you know, outside of the internet.”
“That’s what I’ve been told...” Hyunjin’s urgings echoed in your head. “Maybe...” Your eyes wandered to those scribblings of his. “How about we make a deal?”
“What kind of deal?”
“Once we get both of our stories sorted, lets submit them together. I’m sure people would like to read yours too.”
“Mine?!” Your adorable student’s face flushed as deeply pink as the sweater he wore. “Oh no, no no no no no.”
“I’m telling you it’s good! Its relatable, raw, well written. It never hurts to try. How about submitting it for the literary journal they do at the end of the semester?”
“You mean the one that all the arts majors read and fuckin’ eviscerate?? Hell no.”
“Hey, I could get eviscerated too by my chief editor.”
Jeongin gulped with his terrified, brown, cartoon-character glistening eyes boring holes into his manuscript.
You sang, “~Wanna go down together~?”
“A-as long as we’re going down together...I guess it’s worth a shot.”
“Alright then!!”
He made a little sound of disgust, then shoved his papers back into his much-too-old-for-him bag. “That was all I needed to ask you for. Thank you.” He bowed with respect. “I won’t be bothering you for too long today.”
“You wrote a good story Jeongin.”
“Mm. Thank you.” His smile turned into a tiny flustered line.
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
STUPID NEW CAT FOOD. AGAIN.
In one hand, you held the crinkled up grocery list with angry doodles of your cat folded into the corners of the page. You didn’t quite know if cats had eyebrows like the ones you had drawn onto your cat’s smug face, but you were for certain that this cat must’ve had them...and they were angry.
Bomi had selfishly decided at the end of your week that she no longer liked the last brand of cat food that you had found on the shelves of the grocery store. It was the brand stored next to the one that you had nearly concussed Minho with.
You were at your wits end. There must have been something wrong with your cat--to hell with her being a picky eater. Maybe she really was just a little alien inside there. A little alien that hated cat food. The image of you sitting at your dining table across from Bomi eating two plates of people food crossed your mind. She picked up the fork with her white paw and dabbed at her mouth with a cloth napkin. The idea didn’t seem the most out of reach.
In your other hand was your phone opened to the maps app with the small blue dot leading you to the specialty pet store.
“Damn spoiled, stuck up, good for nothing, pain in my as--”
“Hey! Blossom??”
Your head whipped around so fast you cracked the bones of your neck with a startling pop. You rubbed at your neck to ease the pain.
“You okay?”
At first you figured you must have dreamt him up in your neck-induced-pain. You cursed at your overactive imagination, still just as strong as it was when you had been small.
Blaze in the flesh he was alllll the way from his battered Converse to his stupidly handsome curly hair.
You laughed out incredulously with a hand still glued to the back of your neck.
“Didn’t think that I would be seeing you around here again. Or at least, I was kind of hoping that I would.”
He marched right up to you with that same smile you had pictured on Princess Bomi’s companion countless times before. Today he wore a leather jacket over the arms that you knew were covered in all kinds of flowers and vines. It hadn’t quite hit you yet that he had said he was hoping to see you.
“Sorry if I startled you. I was just...really surprised.”
“You’re fine, it’s fine.”
You neck didn’t tell you it was fine.
“What are you doing around here?”
“Pet store.” Was all you could get out. It shouldn’t have come as a surprise to you, but for someone who worked at a flower shop, he did end up smelling an awful lot like flowers. It was a sweet aroma, much like your garden.
“Ahh, I just got off.”
You walked on, also not noticing that he had started to follow you a couple steps behind.
“I realized I didn’t get your name last time.”
“Oh. It’s Y/n.”
He hummed with a smirk. “I do kinda like Blossom more.” He crammed his hands into his pants pockets with a wistful little sigh. “Pretty nickname for someone as pretty as yourself.”
“Psh. Stop.” You had said it sarcastically, but you didn’t intend for your heart to skip as harshly as it did when he had said so.
“You’ve got a pet then? Dog? Cat?”
“Cat. Just one.”
“I wish I could take care of a pet like that. Don’t think I would be too good at it though. I see myself as more of a plant person. They’re quiet, don’t do too much, and they sort of love you back in their own way.”
“How's that?”
“By growing. And flowering. Changing colors and looking good in your windowsill. Nothing too crazy.”
“I...guess I can see what you mean.”
He flicked at the black hoop pierced into his lip in the way that you certainly hadn’t forgotten; and you were one for forgetting much.
“Mind if I go in with you? I don’t have a whole lot going on.”
Jisung. You had also remembered his name. He carried Blaze with him in the way that he had that fiery glint in his eye like he knew he was getting away with something. He was brash and forward, and charming as all hell. The sunset of blood orange and cotton candy pink seemed to melt into his shoulders where he stood before you in the golden hour of the evening. A yellow carnation was tucked into the pocket of his jacket.
“You don’t have to...”
He had already made up his mind, and swung open the door to the pet shop neighboring the floral shop. You didn’t know how you had missed it.
The squawking of birds chimed with the bells hung over the shop door.
“You coming?” He held it open for you.
You sheepishly entered before him, nearly tripping on the little incline to the entrance and catching yourself three seconds before disaster.
Jisung prompted, “Lead the way.”
Normally you would have been concerned over the cleanliness of the store, but that seemed insignificant compared to the way that he looked around all in his Blaze-like wonder. He widened his eyes at the rows of fish tanks and twiddled with the little feather cat toys at the ends of the isles.
Granted, he seemed much more immersed in the kinds of aquatic plants and moss balls that they had rather than the cute bunnies and mice, but still, you couldn’t help but shy away when he caught your glances.
“Glad that I joined ya Blossom.”
₍⸍⸌̣ʷ̣̫⸍̣⸌₎
There was something about Minho that felt like a lullaby. He wore a lavender colored sweater when he arrived at your doorstep: of course it was pooling into paws at his hands as always. The collar dipped deep enough for you to see the tops of his collarbones, and they were gorgeous and curved. His eyes wrinkled a little under his wire framed glasses when he would smile: that of which would also look like the little grin of a bunny. Effortlessly his brown hair kissed his forehead.
He would speak softly and carefully, and listen to everything that you had said to him as if it was the most important thing in the world. His feet were too big for your spare pair of house slippers and he had a tiny hole in his khaki pants right by the waistline. Minho greeted Bomi with a tiny “aigoo” and she let him sweep her up into his arms where he bounced her lightly. She would never let you do that. Traitor.
“Your home is very...you.” He had complimented. You had no idea what that meant.
His lips were pink and glossy with drips of that peach soju that you had bought in the hopes that he would like it. It turned out that it was his favorite flavor.
You wanted so badly to kiss the peachy flavor off of those lips.
He had laughed a little at your array of cat-related home decor, laughing the most at your dish towels that had two fat cats on them that looked like chefs. He said that he had seen a movie once and the characters reminded him of that.
The two of you sat outside on your patio on the wire chairs that would imprint designs into the back of your legs. The air mixed with the smell of your citronella candle and the scent of the roasted duck that you had attempted to make for him. You really shouldn’t have tried to make something for the first time when it was also his first time coming over.
Maybe he was just being nice, but he had said it tasted good.
It did not taste good, but rather harshly of salt and too much rosemary.
Bomi rubbed at his legs under the table and even hiked herself up on two feet to peek into his lap. As much as it hurt to see your traitorous cat act this way, it was because of this that you knew he was someone that you could trust. Minho gave her head scratches and insisted to help you with the dishes--a mistake on his part. It took all of two minutes before you had a mishap with the detachable sink head, and soaked through his sweater.
“Maybe I just shouldn’t trust you with water then?” He chuckled while dabbing away at the fabric.
“That probably would be best.”
Minho was a lullaby in the way that he laid down next to you on that quilt you had made in a crafting class some years ago. All of the patches were disjointed the the color scheme made very little sense, but it was stull functional. He kept his hands folded to his chest with reverence. His chest rose and fell calmly, and his body heat floated over to you. His presence was something familiar and still something that you couldn’t place.
“Are you getting tired?” He asked you gently.
You lied, “No, just resting my eyes.”
“Maybe we shouldn’t have had that much soju then.” He joked into the open air.
“How much longer?”
“At least thirty more minutes.”
He was so warm. Warmer than any chill of the spring night.
First you would have kissed the peachy flavor on his lips. Then you would have cuddled all up into that lavender sweater which you imagined to be even softer than cat’s fur--or rather--it looked like it could have been.
“Do you know any constellations?” Minho pointed up to the sky.
“Not really.”
“Well, that one is Ursa Major...and over there...that’s Leo. Can you see that it sort of looks like a triangle?”
“Yes.” You had said, but really you didn’t have a clue, you liked it more hearing him talk about them. “Where did you learn about constellations?”
“Long time ago. I think it was in school, but, that was so, so long ago.”
The cool grass under the quilt rustled when he had leaned back up to sit, then dragged quilt attempt #2 over your body and his.
“It was getting a little cold.” He quietly announced.
His simple action of doing just that heated up your whole body now knowing that the two of you were trapped together, inches apart.
Minho tucked his arms to prop up his head. “Thank you for cooking for me. I haven’t had someone other than my mother cook like that for me in a long while.”
“I’m sorry...I know that it was pretty inedible--”
“--And thank you for allowing me to come over too. I...realize...I don’t really know what I’m doing that well. I kind of invited myself...I hope that I’m not putting pressure on you or anything...”
“--Doing what well?” Your heart leapt into your throat.
“I just haven’t done this in a really long time.”
This.
What the hell was “this?”
“I’m not following...”
“Letting myself do something fun. Something nice and relaxing.”
You had formed a painful little “Oh.” on your lips. Your idea of this was different from his after all.
“--Something nice and relaxing with you.”
Another “Oh.” formed, but this one was a thankful one.
“Can I tell you something?” Minho’s voice was barely in a whisper.
“What is it?” You looked over at him and he was wrapped in the navy blue light of the night. You could have sworn that you could see the faintest inkling of stars in his eyes.
He looked back at you in earnest. “I’ve been...scared, too, since moving back out here.”
“W-why?”
“There was something in me that was telling me that moving out here wouldn’t fix everything, and that I would be stuck forever on those things that happened, and the things that made me unhappy.”
“Minho...what are you saying?”
“-Got my heart broken. Back then. As cliché as the sounds.” He laughed, and it even sounded a twinge embarrassed. “I ran away from it to here. I had figured that it would give me time to get it all back together again.”
“I-I’m so sorry.”
“Running is good and all when you can physically remove yourself from what’s chasing you, but some things...”
Your chest felt heavy. “I know exactly what you’re talking about.”
“You do?”
The first summer cicadas had started their nighttime chant, and their hisses ebbed and flowed like sea waves.
“I feel like...these expectations that my family has of me, my mother...I can’t ever escape them. They’re always there and burned into my head. I think of them even when I don’t want to: get a better job that “contributes”, get married, have grandkids...”
You paused with your own eyes cast up to the sky. The massive expanse seemed unfathomable.
“Why is it that we can’t ever be happy doing the things that are supposed to make us happy?”
The first meteor flew past your eyes with the speed of light, barely slow enough for you to catch it.
The second was a bit slower, and traced after it a millisecond of white spectral dust.
“Did you see that??” Without thinking, you poked once at Minho’s arm.
You couldn’t see, but he had grinned with a weak smile. “I did.”
All at once, the sky was illuminated with brilliant streaks of light and their white hot heads that would fade and dissapear just as quickly as they arrived. They tore through the sky with astonishing speed and you traced the outline of each line as fast as you could.
“There’s so many.” You wondered aloud.
Under the warmth of the haphazard blanket, fingers twisted into yours: careful and tentative, soft and curious.
Minho breathed out, “I feel pretty happy right now.”

Oh I see 😭😭 but that's so cool, you'll be a graduate by then!! Do you have a graduation party, or something like that? For when you graduate? Yes istg they have no chill whatsoever 😬 but I can't wait to go back and see my friends :) just the exam part that bothers me ugh.
you're right! And honestly, as long as you're enjoying yourself, it's worth every second. I wish you all the best, love.
you're right tho hhhh everyone is different 😣😣 what works for one may not work for another, but I think if you're earnest about it, no one is going to think you're a bad teacher. That'd be great. Tips on how to deal with people, and teach, right? If only there were classes on that xD
you're cuter than koalas tho💖💖💖🐨 and oh yes. I've taken to finding it on Twitter but it hasn't popped up. I hope it does.
Headbutt? He's so flustered ekdhwkkssk 😭😭😭💖 cute.
Omigosh yesss that's another thing you like. I can't believe I didn't write that alongside cheese haha >.< but ugh instant ramen is just wonderful. It's so spicy, but so wonderful!!
awww understandable. I low-key feel like skipping school on the days when I don't eat. But gotta go nonetheless. Or Angel might kill me. 😭😭 If I don't come without telling her, she calls me at 6.50 in the morning to find out why. Gotta love friends like that skhdksks 😭😭 but yeah!! I googled it yesterday and that came up somewhere on Google? Wait a sec, let me copy paste it: It consists of meat, rice, and fried vegetables placed in a pot which is flipped upside down when served, hence the name maqluba, which translates literally as "upside-down."
yasss nice :D pls do!! And oh skjdskjsk 😭😭 I wish we had some in common but I'm literally in none of those fandoms grrrr I've always been so bad at video games +_+ my old fandoms were mostly books (like the whole Percy Jackson series, and everything the author had written), Harry Potter, the mortal instruments, etc. Hamilton (the musical), and of course, Voltron, She-Ra, and Avatar (the last airbender. Not the blue people xD). I wish you luck if you do plan on catching up with them!! That's what I'm doing now, so I'm taking a break from anime >.< And don't worry! I'm sure you'll be able to relive your childhood and buy those video games soon. It might be fun to play them, when you couldn't as a kid.
Aww that sounds lovely I hope you had fun!! What'd you have??
yes it was well deserved. I didn't get much done today but I'm well rested for tomorrow. (Finished the latest season of money heist too. It's so good ughhhh) have you been sleeping okay tho?
The meeting went okay. I met with the other tutors and we decided on dates and times for us to hold our sessions. Mine's on the 14th, in the afternoon, after lunch, and I'll have 1 and a half hours to teach however I wish. I'm racking my brains for a lesson plan now, because I've never tutored people my age xD so I hope it'll be alright. that sounds so cool! Anything with anonymity in it is fun, in my opinion. I hope your classmates come up with some real cool stuff :D
and ah, Cookie you have my heart 😭I love you too.
— 😺💖
Yeah we do!! Though this year will probably be a class only party, if we even get to have a party XD yeah, my friends are really the best thing to get out of school. I wouldnt have any otherwise😭
Yeah!!! I'd really just rather die if I went to work as a cashier, or a waiter... not because the jobs are bad but because I have to speak? Say something? AND memorize the prices ????? No thanks. I'd get fired after the first hour😭 hmm, what about you?? What's your hell-no job?
Yeah!!! Literally the most important thing. To be honest, when I explain something, I sound like Hinata. "You know, it goes like this and that, and them whewww and woah and yeahhh you know?"
Yeah, it hurt like a bitch but seeing his red-ass face was the best reward I've ever gotten XD he stuttered!!!! Once, but he did, and that's worth more than a thousand compliments I think
Heheheh, how could you not remember?💔 Slkwkfkskx just kidding xD I can also add something else, for example soup dumplings. I love them so much you know?? Very much
It's nice to have friends like that ngl😭😭 sadly I'm that friend xD others are soooo irresponsible its embarrassing
Ohhh I see!! Makes sense, haha~ thanks!! I really need to start doing proper research.
That's so cool, to be honest. I've never been much of a bookworm... probably because we never could afford books so I was never really interested... so embarrassing😭💔 I actually really want to catch up on all those because I've seen them everywhere, so yeah, hopefully, I will😩
I did!!! I had a cheese sandwich (not surprising), and a strawberry milkshake. It was nice^^
Yeah, I've been sleeping alright! A little more than usual, which made me kinda more dehydrated, so I gotta drink more water~
Ohhh, good luck!! That's so cool tbh, I hope it goes well!! I'm sure itll go well, you can do it<33 I hope so as well, no one has done anything yet so yeah xDDD
I hope your day is going great!!! I really love youu🤍🤍🤍
Edit: I forgot about this wjjdkwkdk
I did it😼

reaction post typed while watching SPN 15x04 “Atomic Monsters”
in which Jensen’s directing blows my mind a little bit?? holy shit. also Dean is only eating phallic things... and the writer in me is reeling. SOMEONE TELL ME THAT WAS JENSEN SINGING THAT SONG PLEASE
--
07:01pm
mostly what i wanna do right now is eat and watch queer eye buuuut i guess i should watch this first. hopefully it’s fun?? i do not want my heart ripped out or to be squicked right now
-
07:04
oh no........ becky
i like her as a character but ew ew ew all of her life choices and the way she treats sam
fingers crossed for character development
PLEASE DON’T DIE
i mean .....i don’t LIKE her but still
-
07:08
i can’t tell if the audio on my video file is fucked up or whether there’s supposed to be a voiceover here while dean’s shooting people while wearing a very nice beard
because it’s very much drowned out
-
07:10
oh hey benny
soooo this is some kind of au fic maybe
-
i uh.... fully expected dean to kiss benny right then
-
07:13
definitely a voiceover drowned out on purpose
vaguely heard “title” as the titlecard came up
okay, interesting
-
07:15
DEAN GOT VEGGIE BACON
yee
-
sam: YOU GOTTA STOP CALLING YOURSELF THE MEAT MAN, IT DOESN’T MEAN WHAT YOU THINK IT MEANS
OHHHHH SAMMY No i think he knows exactly what it means, and what it sounds like
-
dean: yeah it does
TOLD YOU. bi baby
-
07:18
real bacon
DEAN YOU VEGETABLE-HATING ASSHOLE
-
07:22
dean and his flask this season..... guess he’s gone back to quiet alcoholism
-
07:23
wow........ becky has not aged a DAY
-
07:27
becky: they just sit around and do laundry and talk
okay NOW i relate to becky
thank youuuu davy perez for letting her grow and recognize her awful awful awful mistakes
-
chuck: eeeeeeh, people like monsters
becky: meh
HELL YEAH
i mean i love monster stories but i love laundry more
-
07:29
there’s a tall cas doll in becky’s bookshelf, yay~
which.... honestly looks like a white tennis ball on a roll of paper with wings attached but still
-
07:33
cas is gone and dean is eating SO MUCH
> meat man bacon (textual penis euphemism)
> pretzels (twisted, salty rather than sweet, metaphor for Not Straight)
> alcohol (DESPAIR)
> hot dog (phallic)
-
i can’t put screenshots on my posts anymore bc tumblr sucks BUT
as dean’s sitting with the hot dog, in the shot that contains sam, there’s BISEXUAL BICYCLES
-
07:40
sam holds a hyponeedle behind his back
i’m wondering if they’d become a little out of character if chuck is writing them again
-
07:42
i’d say the orchid is significant
there’s a pink one in the house of the dad/mom/son, and the speech-making cheerleader mentioned ghost orchids
edit: nah
-
07:44
aww there’s a lil cas pop figure thingy!!! yay team free will!!!
-
07:45
chuck: fan..fic. it’s not really the same
becky: writing’s writing!!
YES BECKY
-
07:52
becky: no-one even mentions cas
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS BECKY
-
07:54
flashback to the son biting the girl’s neck, the music kind of halfway there
the directing of this is fascinating
like a music video, it’s ethereal
and... you know when you hear JUST enough of a good chord from a song but you don’t hear the rest and it’s like MMM but just an inch away from satisfying but not in a bad way?? like breathing in a meal you’re not going to eat. like walking past a bakery and not going inside. you want it but you can’t have it, IT TEASES
AND I JUST LOOKED UP THE DIRECTOR AND IT’S JENSEN
WOW. OKAY DUDE 3000 KUDOS TO YOU
this isn’t a tv show, it’s art. like. he just made art. wow
wowow
-
there are SO MANY LAYERS HERe, particularly in the audio
the kid talking, chuck’s voiceover, the music in the truck, the heartbeat and roaring sound effects, the kid and the girl breathing and grunting in the flashback
it’s like... sensory overload but at the same time it’s delicious
.....you know what?? this scene is beyond incredible, because not only is is beautiful for what it is, but also for what it represents
because i was just thinking that this feeling, this blast and blur of ALL THE THINGS ALL AT ONCE AT THE APEX OF EMOTION feels exactly like the part where i’m writing a story and everything’s happening so fast and i gotta type AS THINGS ARE HAPPENING and words just flood from my fingertips and my heart is pounding and the world no longer exists, i’m kind of out of my body but no longer have a body
and
like
that’s literally what’s happening. all of this. is chuck writing in that exact moment, unresponsive to becky, WRITING THINGS INTO EXISTENCE
i told my family a while ago, there are some stories only a Writer can write. when they write about being a Writer and you can tell it’s so personal and would be related to the most by other writers. and davy perez has done exactly this here, with becky being us, the fandom, but then there’s THIS
that flood of Everything All At Once is illustrated PERFECTLY, not just in the text, but the way jensen obviously understood the feeling and illustrated it in such a way that i didn’t even remember the layer of this story where chuck’s writing until i was all “hey this feels like that writer thing” and IT’S EXACTLY THAT
this is mind-blowing a little bit??? i really really love this
goddamn
-
08:09
ooooooh a vampire trying to save the winchesters from humans
-
08:11
.....who’s singing this song? kind of?? sounds like jensen???
it’s probably not jensen but 100% chance he picked the song
that long note as the girl’s taken out on the stretcher. oh man it REALLY sounds like jensen
....i listened again and....... the word “SOUnds”
no, yeah, that’s jensen. the way he kind of hurls a big note up through his chest yet it comes out soft with just that teeeeny touch of huskiness?? that’s gotta be jensen
if it’s not jensen i’ll be v surprised. might be a friend of his maybe. but there’s a personal connection there definitely
edit: NO IT HAS TO BE JENSEN. IT IS RIGHT??? SOMEONE TELL ME IT IS
*misha at jibcon voice* we get a tingly feeling when we hear it so we know it’s you
-
08:17
becky: it’s AWFUL. HOPELESS. you can’t do this to the fans
i can’t tell if that textual awareness combined with my dread about the upcoming ending of the show makes me glad the writers understand, or worried that they understand but are gonna give us a dark, hopeless ending anyway
-
08:20
did the voiceover just say “bexy becky”
-
08:23
dean: now that chuck’s gone... we are..... finally free
oh no baby
oh no
-
08:26
laughing bc the ending was just “next to him sit dean and sam bobbleheads”
the end
guess it’s kind of a cause-and-effect thing. chuck types, they wobble
-
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MAN
at least becky’s not dead right?? at least according to chuck talking about her family
CHUCK IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST.
i’m so glad becky is a stable, healthily creative human who obeys consent now and is repulsed by what she did to sam
i probably don’t need to say it again but the directing in this was phenomenal, if highly unusual compared to other episodes. there was a lot of... force in it? actually now i think it about it, it had jensen’s energy. smooth and flowing with smacks of Hell Yeah and some twangs of discomfort thrown in.
also dean’s food was phallic, fight me
i think the bicycles thing probably meant less than the food did, jensen’s way more straightforward with his dick jokes. like, if he’s gonna be gay, he goes for it, doesn’t hide it in the background. someone else put those bicycles there, and he was probably like “ok sure”.
(also? dean’s “nice beaver” quip, followed by the fact that THE PERSON INSIDE THE BEAVER FURSUIT IS A GUY)
i bet i’m gonna get on tumblr after this and someone’s gonna be like “hey here’s the song that was in this episode and yeah it’s off jensen’s new album”
i’m interested to see where this story goes next. but also WOW, i’m not into the fact chuck is manipulating the storyline again and the winchesters aren’t aware of it. curious flip regarding consent issues, with chuck and becky. now chuck’s the violator and becky’s the voice of reason
anyway this was 10/10, and i’m happy to report that after i got past the scene with the red lights in the bunker, and made it to the brothers eating bacon, i’d completely forgotten i wanted to be watching something else and began to fully enjoy this episode~ yay

Quarantine, Day 49
One more note on the weird time theme of yesterday; today I got an Amazon Question in my email from somebody wanting to know about a camcorder I bought twelve years ago. (It is obviously hella discontinued, but there are apparently a few third party sellers still.) For those of you who were not paying attention to camera technology in 2008, phone cameras were basically still bullshit unless you were willing to shell out a couple month's rent for your camera, which I was not. I had a flip phone until 2014, I shit you not. So phone cameras were not as much of a thing, but you could buy little pocket video cameras that ran on AA batteries and were about the size of an Iphone 5, but a little thicker. They had an internal memory of maybe an hour, and a USB port that popped out like a switchblade so you could upload it to your computer. They were, honestly, pretty cool in a dorky sort of way. I used that camera for early pictures of the kiddo, along with a tiny handheld camcorder-shaped camcorder that could do things like "let me see what I was recording even outdoors." It's long gone, of course, which is why it was so funny to see that question pop up today, someone apparently legitimately wondering about the focal length of a crappy little camera from another lifetime. I hope somebody actually knows the answer.
Tumblr media
The kittens are doing well today and I was able to secure some more formula for them. I am very excited because Amazon informs me that people have bought formula from my wish list and it is on the way (<3<3<3) but kitten formula is apparently not essential enough to make the journey very quickly. Luckily I now have enough for at least another three or four days. They’re eating a lot and gaining quite a bit of weight, so it’s worth being patient.
I am, however, quickly losing patience with the vet tech at my rescue. Vet tech school doesn't actually include very much information about raising orphan kittens, by and large, and she has picked up some extremely...nonstandard... ideas about the state of the art. I don't claim to be an expert myself, but I've been doing it for a number of years now with pretty good success, and I have done a lot of reading, consulted with a lot of incredibly experienced people, and attended official training given by reputable agencies. What I'm trying to say is that my kitten-raising strategies are not uninformed and I didn't just make them up in my head, and getting constantly bitched out over them by text message got old about three litters ago. I probably could not have saved my littlest kitten this time even if the tech hadn't insisted that I not use Pedialyte even though it was recommended by the kitten raising experts that our own rescue brought in to teach us how to raise kittens, but I don't think not using it helped at all. And when I want to switch to a formula that literally everyone I speak to says is either superior to or at least equal to the kind we are already using, it is not appropriate to bite my head off and say that veterinarians don't approve of it because it causes vomiting and diarrhea, so I'd better stop using it quicklike. I devoted quite a bit of time today to looking for _any_ evidence of that opinion online, searching for articles online, reading product reviews, and asking other fosters. Nada.
I do my very best to be polite, and sometimes the tech can be very helpful, but too often it is this bullshit and I have trouble coping with it when usually I'm operating on way too little sleep already. The trouble is, the tech has a large amount of power over policy at the rescue, and not doing what she says could get me in trouble. Honestly, at this point I am losing interest in complying anyway. What are they going to do, take my kittens away when they are finally healthy and growing? And there are other rescues out there, and they always need bottlefeeders. It just sucks because other than that I really, really like my rescue and I do not want to leave. Ugh. At least with healthy kittens, I need to consult a lot less often.
Anyway, enough of my personal cat lady drama. The kittens are doing really well and are incredibly fluffy, and that is the important part! Now that Jackie is no longer so far down she can barely swallow, I can keep her clean much more easily and she is starting to rival Rosa for adorable soft squishableness. I am, however, increasingly willing to bet that they are not actually siblings and Rosa is several days to a week older. She's just so much bigger, and has more teeth! It's okay, they still love each other. Also, letting the kiddo cuddle with them or read to them or supervise their playtime is a good little motivating tool to help him power through his schoolwork. Double bonus!
The big, big,big grocery order came in today, and it was indeed large. I now have two boxes of staple foods to tuck away for hurricanes and/or societal difficulties, plus several cans of mackerel for trapping wily feral cats! Feral cats love mackerel, it just smells soooo bad. I decided that if I was going to lay in some extra meat, it was mostly going to be sausage and bacon, because that's the sort of meat where a little bit goes a long way in terms of enriching the flavor of a meal. I got some ground turkey and beef, but I also have textured vegetable protein in the pantry to stretch it for things like spaghetti sauce, tacos, and chili. And I scored two ultra-rare bags of 15 bean soup mix, so I can use my other hambone! You guys don't even understand how much I love ham and bean soup, or how exciting this is. The weird thing is, two weeks ago when I made my last pickup order, the pickup area was packed solid with cars, and cars were even waiting to get into the spots. Today, I was literally the only car there when my food came out. The parking lot was packed, it's just that everyone was shopping inside. Not a great sign.
Definitely the most fun I had today was playing with the excellent West Wing gifset that @donnajosh made of Josh and Sam. Watching their faces made me laugh very hard, and I had to caption it. It was a whole face journey, made by two guys who would absolutely follow the Delta shuttle all the way to Indianapolis if they were not stopped. Too funny! Thank god for people on the internet, just being there and doing stuff and making all of this feel less lonely.

How do you feel about keto /lchf diets?
Oh no 🙈 lol I’ve actually been pretty vocal about this in my post https://almondmelkk.tumblr.com/post/173281621194/why-i-dont-support-the-keto-diet and the Keto community was pissed but whatever. If they wanna come at me again that’s fine 😂 Everyone’s different so if you want to follow Keto because you feel its right for you go ahead! But since your asking my opinion I’ll share it with you.
I’ll summarize my thoughts and add to it a little bit. •I can’t support a diet that places limits and restrictions on eating certain fruits and vegetables. You should be able to eat (especially vegetables) as much as you want! I truly believe fruits and vegetables are the answer to a healthy diet and lifestyle. •Every few years we see this diet resurface basically just with a new name. Atkins, South Beach, and now Keto. And every single one had tons of people who sweared by it yet they lost popularity 🤔It’s a trend and trends die. I believe the reason why these diets slowly lose steam and become an old trend is because they become tough for people to follow (for many reasons) and so they fall off. And then what inevitably happens is they gain all the weight back and maybe even then some. LCHF diets seem so perfect because carbs have become so vilified that people think the only answer to weight loss is to get rid of carbs. Plus I think eating fatty foods like bacon, steak and cheese seems more appealing than being told to eat broccoli. •Another problem I’ve recently been having is how diluted the internet even makes the diet. People just start making anything into keto friendly because it’s high in fat and protein regardless of the other nutritional aspects. What the diet is actually supposed to be vs what the internet has turned it into are very different. •A well balanced diet can be just as effective!!! I think people like diets because it gives them a clear focus and guide to follow. But eating whole foods , and like I said fruits and vegetables, will make you feel amazing and can still lead to just as much weight loss. It’s about caloric restricting. Even in the keto diet, restricting calories is important because if you ate a ton of keto food you would gain weight. I think the media makes it seem like it’s magical, and you can eat whatever keto food you want and your just going to shed pounds. In my opinion adopting a healthy balanced diet, which includes fats too, is more effective because it can be easily sustained over a lifetime. It’s about creating balance in your life and diet. Enjoying healthy food (maybe even exercise too) and making that your go to, while also enjoy a treat every now and then. Overly restricting or depriving yourself of things you love and enjoy can be a set up for failure. •I’ll start with I am not vegan but I am almost completely plant based and a huge reason for that is environmental factors. The meat/animal industry places a HUGE strain on the environment and I like to do my best to reduce that. If everyone on this planet became keto we would F this world up soooo fast! Most any vegan can tell you all about why eating a ton of meat is bad not only for the planet but for your health too!

PBF Baby #2: Pregnancy Weeks 20–23 + Pregnancy Favorites So Far
Hi friends! In case you haven’t stopped by PBF in a while and are just checking in, hiii! I’m pregnant again and we have some catching up to do! Here are the two posts I’ve shared about my pregnancy so far:
A Miracle On The Way
The First and Second Trimester (So Far)
It’s crazy to me that I’m more than halfway through this pregnancy because it is going by so fast. I attribute this feeling to a number of things, most notably the fact that for the first 18(ish) weeks, I really, really tried not to think about being pregnant too much. This is obviously easier said than done and was 100 percent a self-preservation thing, though I know by now that trying to “disconnect” yourself from a pregnancy isn’t possible nor should it be. I want to think about being pregnant and I want to think about what life will be like when our little one enters the world. Slowly but surely, I’m allowing myself to do this and it feels good.
I’m trying to let the anxiety and fear I feel surrounding loss subside and now that I am feeling our baby move daily, I’m focusing on those flutters and each one feels like a beautiful mini-kick to my heart. Keep on movin’ and shakin’ in there, little one. We love you so much and prayed so intently for you. When I think about holding you in my arms for the very first time, I am already a mess of tears.
I know I previously mentioned my varied reasons surrounding not sharing weekly pregnancy updates on the blog this time around and just want to reiterate something that feels incredibly important to me to say in this space: If you are not in a place where reading about pregnancy is good for your heart, I get it and I am sending you so much love. I don’t want to be the source of heartache for any of you. Please skip the blog posts you need to skip, take a break from this blog if you need a break and take care of yourself.
I still struggle with talking about my pregnancy and being open about it because everything continues to feels complicated. When I went to title this blog post even typing out “Baby #2” feels wrong to me because this is baby number four. But here we are… and I’m so grateful to be here.
So many of you have been incredibly kind and encouraged me to share what I want to share about this pregnancy when I want to share it and right now I think sticking to pregnancy recaps every four weeks sounds good and feels right to me. I really do want to let all of you in and share about my pregnancy in this space so today’s pregnancy recap is a weekly update on the past four weeks of my pregnancy, from weeks 20 to 23. I hope this isn’t too confusing, but I’ve been adding to this post weekly since my 20th week of pregnancy, so all of my updates each week were written in “real time” during that week of my pregnancy.
PBF Baby #2: Weeks 20-23
20 Weeks
Flashback: 20 Weeks Pregnant with Chase
Not taking into account the fact that I’ve been a lot more stressed and anxious this pregnancy, from a physical standpoint, this pregnancy has been noticeably more difficult than my pregnancy with Chase as I’ve felt more nauseated and tired. From weeks 7 to 17, I felt nauseated nearly all day long (especially in the evenings) and had to eat at least every 90 minutes to keep myself from heaving. The only foods that sounded good to me were often rather bland carbs and citrus fruit. I don’t want to jinx it by writing this now, but I seemed to have turned a corner within the past week or two and I feel SO much better. Nausea is still there first thing in the morning but typically dissipates the instant I eat something (usually oatmeal). Other physical changes I’ve continued to notice include widening hips (and arms… anyone else feel me on this one!?), ever-growing breasts and feeling softer all over. I love looking back on my belly pictures from my pregnancy with Chase because I’m definitely showing much faster this time! My 20-week bump looks like my 25-week bump from my first pregnancy and I am up about 16 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight.
I am back to eating a much wider variety of foods and try to take advantage of the time of day when I feel most in the mood for nutritious eats which, for me, is lunchtime. I’ve been loving anything Thai and chopped salads are my favorite way to consume vegetables. While eating meat is no longer repulsive to me, I still don’t love cooking it – too many smells, textures, etc. – so we’re eating a lot of meatless meals and crock pot recipes ( <—minimal prep + cooking) around here which I enjoy a lot!
I also feel stronger and am back to really enjoying my workouts. I missed them a lot! I’m typically making it to the gym around four days a week which feels like a sweet spot for me right now.
Aside from our 20-week prenatal appointment which went so well (so many prayers before and after that one!), the highlight of this week of my pregnancy has been feeling our baby move. The movements are still the lightest little flutters and I only feel them when I’m reading at night or relaxing and very still but they’re unmistakably our baby dancing up a storm. I find myself rubbing my stomach multiple times a day and love feeling our little one move around in my belly.
21 Weeks
Flashback: 21 Weeks Pregnant with Chase
Part of me feels a little bad that I didn’t document the first half of my pregnancy on the blog because I feel like right now I’m in a really good place from an energy standpoint and that soooo was not the case for 10+ weeks. I guess I just feel the need to share this because while pregnancy is a HUGE blessing (x 10,000) sometimes it can really kick your butt and it kicked mine for several months. I say all this because I don’t want anyone to think I’m painting this rosy picture of pregnancy this time around but I also know from my pregnancy with Chase that it’s incredibly important to notice and appreciate the weeks when you DO feel good because who knows how you’ll feel the next week (or day or hour).
This week was a good week as I only had one day where I felt really exhausted by the late afternoon. The biggest thing I’ve noticed this week is that I am an absolute bottomless pit! I feel like I am eating all day long and snacking my way through every hour. Thankfully my diet now seems to be a mix of healthy and not-so-healthy foods, but that’s a big step up from my all-carb diet from the first trimester, so I’ll take it! Cravings this week have included chocolate (NEEDED it every day), oranges, cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch, just get in my belly already) and cream cheese. Aversions are much more mild this week and I haven’t found myself repulsed by much other than the thought of ground beef and burgers.
I also documented a week of my workouts during this week of pregnancy, so if you’d like to see them, check out this blog post: A Week of Workouts (February 2018).
Oh! And THE SNOOGLE is back in my life this week!!! I missed that monstrosity of a pregnancy pillow so much and it made a BIG difference in my sleep the minute I busted it out of the attic. Bless that pillow!
22 Weeks
Flashback: 22 Weeks Pregnant with Chase
I’m receiving more and more comments from people about the rapidly-growing size of my belly! I feel like my belly grows by leaps and bounds every single week right now and I’m curious to see just how big it will be by the time I’m ready to go into labor. With Chase, I was almost always measuring behind and gave birth to a 5 pound 10 ounce baby which, after delivery, we learned that Chase’s smaller size may have been linked to two issues with my placenta. I’ve had two appointments with a specialist to monitor my placenta this time around and all looks good and I’m measuring right on target, so I’m kind of curious to see if this little one is a bigger baby than our first tiny peanut! Time will tell!
As far as how I’m feeling right now, my biggest issue this week was sleep. I wake up constantly in the night to pee (we’re talking at least four times) and usually one of those times will result in me tossing and turning and lying awake in bed for at least an hour before I eventually drift back asleep. My dreaded wake up time is anytime after 3:30 a.m. because half the time I can feel my adrenaline kick in as I think about my to-do list for the day and wonder if I should just get up.
Also, I’m not sure I ever went through a nesting phase when I was pregnant with Chase or if I’m too early on in my pregnancy for this to count, but I cannot stop cleaning out and organizing various closets, drawers and cabinets all over our house. It gives me an odd sense of satisfaction as I make my way through different spaces and end up with a big bag of stuff to donate and another to simply throw away. I tackled boxing up Chase’s 6-12 month baby clothes this week and all of the little footie zipper pajamas made me feel all the more excited for baby snuggles in the months to come!
23 Weeks
Flashback: 23 Weeks Pregnant with Chase
I began to experience some round ligament pain on the lower left side of my belly this week which initially startled and scared me. I wasn’t sure if it was pregnancy related or if I maybe did something at the gym that strained a muscle because the pain was so focused in one spot but went away the minute I’d sit down and rest. Thankfully it only lasted for a couple of days and I just took it easy and opted out of my normal workouts.
I also had another appointment to visit my doctor at the end of this week and it was incredible to immediately hear our baby’s heartbeat again. Chase lit up at the “boom booms” and now that he’s “in the know” about the baby, involving him in these appointments is really neat! I learned that I’m up about 20 pounds already from my pre-pregnancy weight. This didn’t surprise me at all, especially since my belly is noticeably larger and I’ve also been an absolute eating machine. I seriously feel like I need to eat ALL the time and it’s often not just a little snack here and there. Even though the average weight gain at this point of pregnancy seems to be more like 13-15 pounds, my doctor said she wasn’t concerned at all and to keep listening to my body. You got it!
Experiencing some of the body changes that come along with pregnancy can be challenging but I feel pretty relaxed about the way my body looks right now and way more wrapped up in what’s happening INSIDE my belly. (I say this but also want to mention that I am certainly not one of those women who “feel most beautiful” when I’m pregnant! There’s a ton of cellulite and softness going on over here but my body just isn’t my focus at all.) The main thing I’m struggling with is dressing myself and I am just really uncomfortable in most of my clothes, including many of the low-rise leggings I loved when I was pregnant with Chase. (I definitely prefer leggings I can pull over my belly right now.) Is it cool to just wear sweat pants and pajamas pants all day!? I’m ready for warmer temperatures so I can live in maxi dresses again!
Oh! And I probably should’ve mentioned this in previous recaps, but I’ve felt incredibly emotional for a few weeks now. It’s mostly just weepy and I find myself crying at the drop of a hat over things like a random Olympic athlete’s story or a video someone shares about kids or motherhood on Facebook… and don’t even get me started when something is legitimately cry-worthy. Open up the floodgates!
Pregnancy Favorites
FIRST TRIMESTER FAVORITES
Rainbow Light Prenatal Vitamins
I did a lot of research into high-quality prenatal vitamins before Ryan and I began trying for a baby after our first loss and while I liked the prenatals I was taking before (they were gummy vitamins and totally delicious), I switched to Rainbow Light after reading so many wonderful things about them online. (I bought them through Thrive Market which helped with the cost a bit.) It is a plant-based vitamin that provides all of the standard essentials (folic acid, Vitamin D and more) and seemed to be easier on my stomach which was VERY welcomed during the first 17 weeks of my pregnancy when I was constantly nauseated.
One important note: The pills in the original bottle of Rainbow Light prenatal vitamins I purchased were HUGE. We’re talking horse pills, people. I had the hardest time swallowing them every night and was MUCH happier when I switched to their mini tablets.
Tea
I cut caffeine completely out of my diet right when I found out I was pregnant just to be on the safe side so I made the switch from coffee to caffeine-free tea very early on in my pregnancy. (Coffee was also an aversion of mine once I hit around 8 weeks which helped me not long for my morning cup! I’ll now occasionally have a decaf latte since coffee sounds good to me.) I’ve always enjoyed tea and had fun trying some new flavors, especially when some teas seemed to really help with my nausea.
My pregnancy tea favorites: Traditional Medicinals Organic Pregnancy Tea (a comforting combination of raspberry leaf, strawberry leaf, spearmint, rose hip and more), Earth Mama Organic Morning Wellness Tea (my go-to when I felt extra queasy), peppermint tea, chamomile tea
Quease Ease
This was a discovery during my pregnancy with Chase and I still swear by Quease Ease as an incredible natural nausea fighter. I still keep it in my purse at all times.
Preggie Pop Drops
These little candies are my first and second trimester obsession. I feel a bit like the grandmother who always has some kind of a candy at the bottom of her bag because I always have a Preggie Pop Drop at the bottom of my bag these days! They work well for me, especially when I am somewhere that I cannot immediately eat something substantial and need something to help dissipate nausea until I can eat real food again which always seems to help the most.
SECOND TRIMESTER FAVORITES (So Far)
ASOS Maternity Outlet Dresses
Bless you, ASOS Outlet! I discovered this site after Kate shared some pictures of an adorable and affordable dress she bought from ASOS Outlet online and I immediately bought a handful of inexpensive but cute maternity dresses for some baby and bridal showers I have on the agenda.
My orders: Parachute Maxi Dress (My fav! I’ve paired it with a duster cardigan and ankle booties for the winter but think it will be great with sandals in the spring and summer.), Floral Cold Shoulder Dress (Only $18!), Double Layer Stripe Dress (So breezy!)
Snoogle Total Body Pillow
This pillow is worth its weight in gold. I don’t know how I could sleep comfortably without it and swear by this pillow. Sadie is also quite happy the Snoogle is back in her life!
Belly Butter
I began using belly butter on my stomach and breasts again around 22 weeks when I started to notice some rapid growth! I stuck to my favorites from my first pregnancy and continue to like Mambino Organic Belly Butter and Burt’s Bees Belly Butter.
Thayers Witch Hazel (Alcohol Free)
This was a second-trimester natural beauty find and I am borderline addicted! I apply it to a soft cotton pad and use it on my face and neck every morning right when I wake up, immediately when I get out of the shower and then again after washing my face at night. It’s so incredibly refreshing and I love that it contains aloe vera which is naturally moisturizing so the toner doesn’t make my face feel tight or dry. It’s also a good source of Vitamin C, Vitamin B and Vitamin A – great for natural skin brightening and anti-aging! While I cannot claim that this toner helped my skin since I know my hormones are all over the place right now, I have not had any break outs or cystic acne since I started using it which is awesome.
Rosewater Spray
I tend to sweat a lot during pregnancy and I’m sure this will only escalate as the temperatures outside get warmer. In addition to the witch hazel toner, I love spritzing my face with this rosewater spray and use it as a natural way to cool my face and help myself feel a little refreshed.

First Draft
1  SCENE 1 1 EXT. Panorama of a dead garden
Various establishing shots of grimy garden and odd shots of        withering plant life.
2  SCENE 2 2 EXT. Underground the soil
Camera pans up from under the soil to above ground.
Reveal shot of four different vegetables ingrained and        dormant. An earthquake awakens them in shock. They wake up        and plop to the ground in bewilderment.
Focus on the Brussel Sprout. He is a small sprout with green        outer body and vine like tentacles as feet.
RUSSELL CROUT                       (Shouting at the surrounding                       area)
Hey you... anyone... is anyone                  else... alive...
He goes over to a corn on a cob that has hit the floor        headfirst. He helps the cob out of the dirt.
RUSSELL CROUT                  Hey matey, are you okay? Did you
                 feel that earth shake?
The corn on the cob looks around in confusion. He looks        panicked and struggles to get up.
A big broad corn on the cob half in the soil is struggling        to get out. He has green leaves still attached to his lower        body and his corn is slightly dusty.
STEVE CORNELL                  WOahh, what happened here... oh
                 yeah my names Cornetto, you?
RUSSELL CROUT                       (Says his name with assurance)
                 Russell. Russell Crout.
3 SCENE 3 3 EXT. Standing by a large crazy looking tree
4 SCENE 4

Wind is blowing calmly, until the wind starts to pick up again 10 seconds later.
STEVE CORNELL          We gotta see if we can find anyone
else. It cant just be us in this          world.
The gust continues to howl as the two characters mull over what to do next.
RUSSELL CROUT I’ll go this way (points south),
you, look over there. (points west).
EXT. West side of garden. Lots of decayed trees & dead plant life
Cornetto looks around and under the plants
STEVE CORNELL          Anyone out there? Hello!
A rustling noise comes from a few yards away. A pile of broken and crushed leeks lay in front of a ruined rock garden.
STEVE CORNELL          Man... what a blood bath, rest in
’peas’ my friends. As he walks away he trips over something.
A slim leek lies on the floor covered in debris. She has large leek leaves attached to her head in a plumed fashion.
                   LEEKY LOHAN               (Shouts)
Ouch! You ok?
STEVE CORNELL
LEEKY LOHAN What’s going on here, what
happened?

Camera pans on the surroundings revealing a desolate dead        land.
STEVE CORNELL                  Not too sure myself but I don’t
want to stay here. Not enough sun                  light and there’s no source of                  water. We could die out if we dont                  find a new place to root into.
LEEKY LOHAN                  Lets get out of here.
5 SCENE 5 5 EXT. A huge pile of garbage is littered all over the place. Russell Crout examines the landscape
RUSSELL CROUT                       (Thinking inside his head)
No hope.
In the distance a slight high pitched scream could be heard.        Russell looks around in confusion.
A stem of baby tomatoes are stranded atop a tree.
                           TOMAY BRO’S                       (screams for help)
HELP US! WE’RE STUCK! MR, OI, MR!
RUSSELL CROUT                  Stay put, I’ll get you down!
Russell pulls out a nearby overgrown bush and places it in        position under the tree.
                           RUSSELL CROUT                  Ok, jump down!
The baby tomatoes are scared and are hanging by a thread on        a tree branch. The four of them all talk in unison.
TOMAY BRO’S                  We’re scared, is there any way you
can come up and get us mr?
RUSSELL CROUT                  Ugh ok stay there.
Russell begins to climb the tree using his tentacle like        vines. He reaches the branch and grabs the baby tomatoes by        a tentacle.

RUSSELL CROUT                  Are you guys ok? How did you get up
here?
TOMAY BRO’S                  We got blown up here by a bad wind
thingy, we were soooo scared, glad                  youre here mr. Thank you so much!
Russell looks around from the tree and see’s something that        catches his eye in the distance.
RUSSELL CROUT                  We need to go over that way...
6 SCENE 6 6
EXT. The group of four are marching towards the direction        Russell saw in the distance.
LEEKY LOHAN                  Why are we going this way? This
                 wooded area scares me.
RUSSELL CROUT                  I saw something in the distance, it
looks worth the investigating,                  maybe we can find some answers of                  why our land is so desolate.
The baby tomatoes are wrapped on top of Steve Cornell        reminiscent of a dad piggybacking his children.
STEVE CORNELL                  You guys are adorable, seems like
we all lost our loved ones in                  whatever occurred back there. How                  ya holdin up?
TOMAY BRO’S                  We’re good mr steve, just glad to
                 be out seeing the world!
LEEKY LOHAN                  You guys might wanna rethink that
                 statement...
Everyones face is in shock. What lies ahead of them give        them chills.
7 SCENE 7 7 EXT. ENTRANCE TO MEATVILLE
They enter what looks like a town. on a sign it says        "Welcome to meatville"
Various shots of veg related things used as decorations for        other objects give the characters feelings of disbelief and        horror.
The town is littered in meat related beings.
RUSSELL CROUT                  What kind of monstrosity is this
place?
As they march deeper into the town, the passers by look at        them in disgust and whisper among each other. Pork sirloins        whisper to each other, burger patties share looks of        amusement and snigger amongst themselves, the veggies are        feeling very victimised at this point.
They walk even deeper into meatville. A t-bone steak trips        up Leeky Lohan.
LEEKY LOHAN                  Hey! What was that for?
T-BONEY                  HAHA! You type are not welcome
here. Scum!
                           RUSSELL CROUT                  Leave her alone!
Russell crout charges and flings himself toward the T-bone        steak. He hits the T-bone steak but the steak bats him away        a side street corner.
The meat crowd all laugh as the rest of the veg run to        Russell’s aid. As they help Russell up a group of Swedish        Meatballs corner them.
The leader of this gang is the biggest ball of all of them.        He has greasy pores and has slight steam clouds coming from        his mouth.
MEATBALL LEADER                  You guys wandered into the wrong
town. Your type need to go back                  from wherever freak land you came                  from!

RUSSELL CROUT                  What the hell did we do to you? We
are just passing by, trust me this                  is the last place we’d ever want to                  be. We’ll be on our way.
The baby tomatoes shudder and hide behind Steve Cornell.        Leeky steps behind Russell.
MEATBALL LEADER                  Not before we pulp the shit out
                 your juicy bodies!
The meatballs start circling around the veggies and get        ready to attack.
360 avengers style group shot as the veggies back up and get        ready to run.
STEVE CORNELL                       (whispers to the rest of the                       veg)
                 Whats our play here?
RUSSELL CROUT                  Ok, Steve, you and the Tomay
brothers go south of that big                  fountain we saw near the exit, me                  and Leeky will distract them.
Steve and the Tomay brothers run for safety. Russell and        Leeky diverts the meatball gang into a complex street chase.
8 SCENE 8 8 EXT. Outside the fountain of meat stock.
Steve and the Tomay brothers are in hiding behind a        dumpster. Russell and Leeky finally arrive looking beat and        tired.
STEVE CORNELL                  Are you guys alright? How did you
lose them?
LEEKY LOHAN                       (In a sneaky voice)
Lets just say I have good BATtling                  skills...
RUSSELL CROUT                  Alright let’s get out of this piece
                 of shit town...
9 SCENE 9 9 EXT. Outside a cave entrance
The baby tomatoes notice something about the group.
TOMAY BRO’S          Guys, have you noticed our skin
         looks a bit, well, wrinkled...
Everyone looks at their skin. It is loose and starting to look discoloured.
                   LEEKY LOHAN               (Screaming in horror)
AHHH! My beautiful skin is going          brown!
RUSSELL CROUT          Yeah same here.. We need to find
good ground soon or we’re doomed.
A dark cave entrance lies in front of them. They ponder whether to go in or not.
10 SCENE 10
10
STEVE CORNELL This cave looks promising.. Not
like there’s any other routes to take...
RUSSELL CROUT We’re wasting time, lets just go in
and see where it takes us.
INT. They enter the cave, it’s dark inside but has a hew of colour on the walls which make the inside of the cave look pretty.
They venture further into the cave.
TOMAY BRO’S          Woooow, this place is pretty, maybe
         we can root in here?
STEVE CORNELL          Not in here babies, we need
sunlight to thrive. It may be          pretty but its not the home we are          looking for.

TOMAY BRO’S          Well, when we grow up we want to
live on a nice place like this.          Somewhere with a view and with you          guys there too.
STEVE CORNELL          Don’t fret, we will soon be living
in paradise... Some time later, they hear shuffling from above.
LEEKY LOHAN          Did anyone else hear that?
RUSSELL CROUT          Yeah, I did, let’s move along
swiftly, I’m not getting good vibes          from this place.
The shuffling noise gets louder. The four of them form another avengers style circle to cover all points of view.
*SKYYYAAAAAAAHHHHRGH*
A loud screech echoes in the cave. A giant fruit bat reminiscent of a watermelon with its wings looking like watermelon slices appears out of nowhere. It targets the group.
RUSSELL CROUT               (Shouts out to the group)
RUN!
The bat give chase. It closes in on the baby tomatoes. Steve grabs them and puts them on his shoulders/head as they were struggling to run by themselves.
STEVE CORNELL               (Shouts at the Tomay Brothers)
Hop on!
TOMAY BRO’S               (Out of breath, pants heavily)
         Help us Steve!
The group keeps on running through obstacles in their way such as rocks, boulders, puddles on the floor and the darkness of the cave.
The fruit bat closes in on the baby tomatoes and manages to tear two of them off the stem!
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED: 9.
The group stops and looks back in disbelief as the fruit bat        munches on the two baby tomatoes in the air.
A rage builds up within the Steve and he sends out a war cry        so loud it shakes the cave. He spins in the air and pelts        the fruit bat with bullet speed corn kernels.
*SKYAHHhHH*        The bat lets go of the remains of the two baby tomatoes.
RUSSELL CROUT                  LEEKY! DO. THE. THING.
Leeky with tears in her eyes screams and positions herself.
                           LEEKY LOHAN                       (screams)
ARRRGHHHH!
Russell bounces and launches himself in the air as Leeky        uses herself as a bat and shoots him at the fruitbat like a        baseball. The impact makes the fruit bat explode into        smithereens.
They run over to the remnants of the two baby tomatoes.
                           TOMAY BRO’S                       (holding back tears)
brothers... we will miss you...        The gang walk on in a sombre mood.
11 SCENE 11 11 EXT. Outside the cave
After that fight the group look even more rotten than        before. They narrowly escaped with their lives.
STEVE CORNELL                  Nothings worked out so far. All my
                 kernels are gone. I’m beat.
TOMAY BRO’S                  We miss our brothers. It’s not the
same. Why does nothing work out for                  us? We just want to live in peace                  away from discrimination and                  fighting.
Leeky runs over and looks at her reflection in a nearby        river and see’s her leaves have gotten torn and bruised.
(CONTINUED)
CONTINUED:
10.
LEEKY LOHAN                  I dont know how to go on guys. I’m
a wreck. We all are.        Suddenly, Russell realises something.
RUSSELL CROUT                       (He exclaims and wraps his                       vines around Leeky’s face)
Guys! GUYS! There’s a running                  source of water here! We just need                  to follow it and hopefully it leads                  to where we need to flourish!
LEEKY LOHAN                  Youre right! You genius, I love
you!
Excitedly, they trek towards the direction of the river and        follow it as the sun is setting.
12 SCENE 12 12 EXT. On the road...
As they journey towards the sunset, parts of their body        break apart, leaves falling off, vines being torn off roots        and a lot of discoloration.

October 8, 2017 Although it was kind of a bad end to the day before, today was actually quite nice haha. So I SLEPT AT 4AM but I still woke up at 10 AM to have brunch with my friends, this really reveals my positive attitude towards them.. doesn’t it. LOL It was actually pretty freaking cute though haha. Everyone came over to my common room, and we made this giant pot of fried rice, and we shared it family style. It’s pretty funny though because we don’t have enough bowls and utensils so we’re each eating out of these plastic cups and sharing utensils HAHA. It was nice though, I wish it could be like a regular thing! Sunday Brunch.. everyone loves that haha Almost everyone came too and we were all just laughing and having a really nice time. Like we were all in sweats and chill clothes with no makeup on, and just being ourselves. It was nice. There’s actually a girl here called Lenny, and she’s quite a good cook! She made this potato hash and it was soo good! I actually found out later that she went to culinary school as her secondary school. So basically instead of normal high school she went to culinary school. Which is sooo cool. Her knife skills are so impressive. The cuts are so small and even im so jealous haha The girl I took a selfie with is Lisa! And she’s a really warm and energetic soul :’) Then after brunch, we all decided to go to a wet market, which is basically just an area where everyone has stalls set up and theyre selling fruits, vegetables, and meats and none of it looks sanitary but I mean that’s just Asia. LOL So I bought 3 different kinds of fruit!! And it was really cheap, and I don’t know why I bought so much fruit when Im leaving in 2 days… yeah idk not the smartest move on my part. After the market, we were walking around and we ended up going to this little dessert place. I got a s’mores toast pie? And it took forever to come out, but when it came out I died a little on the inside. It’s just a shitton of marshmallows that have been baked to perfection, with chocolate and toast slices on the bottom. Oof there is really nothing better than having perfectly toasted and melty marshmallows… yeah I think I ate a bit too much sugar LOL After that, we just went back to our dorms to refresh and relax for a bit, before we met up again to go to get some Dim Sum together!! We went to one dim sum, which is honestly my favorite dim sum place, I’ve been there like so many times already. I still have yet to try Tim Ho Wan though, I really need to get on that. But it was soooo good haha I really enjoyed it. Then we ended up wandering around some more and somehow ended up in MongKok! And I finally saw the goldfish street that you were talking about, and omg I was not happy. The animals looked so mistreated and everything was dirty and I just felt really sad ): But I guess that’s to be expected here. We wanted to get some dessert for dinner, and it was hilarious because our friend John was like NAH I gotchu it’s a few blocks away… and we literally walked for like a mile and a half and we were all joking that John was trying to get us to work out because he thought we were fat LOL like we walked for a good 30 something minutes before we finally got to the shop… The shop was meh. It was supposed to be like Michelin approved and they had 3 desserts that were Michelin recommended and I got one of them. It’s this “grilled” pineapple with pineapple sorbet OKAY FIRST OF ALL. Don’t call something grilled when its not. It was FLAMBE. They sprinkled sugar on top of the pineapple and torched it. That is not grilled -__- And the sorbet wasn’t smooth at all. It was really icy and had little chunks of ice inside which means that it wasn’t churned properly. The plating and such was all nice, but it was just not what I was expecting when they said Michelin rated….. Then when I got back to my dorms, I got to skype with my boo! ^__^ My boo is the cutest in the world. Hehe
