silverstone 2024 landoscar post-race stage > full transcript + gifs
watching recordings of this stage genuinely makes my ears hurt because of the crowd noise and i also find the 132843 videos and photos so hard to keep track of so i was like... fuckit, let me transcribe it once and for all so i can have access to a written recap for reference! figured i'd post here in case it's of any use to anyone else... i compiled different fan-posted material to provide visuals from multiple angles whenever possible since i wanted to piece together a somewhat comprehensive summary; sources are linked but if any ops run across this post lmk if you'd like something removed 🙏
(tbh i mostly made this because i wanted the Three (3) instances of them touching in one post. sorry)
Host: Lando and Oscar. What can I say? Wow! Lando: Hello! Beautiful, huh? It's beautiful to see so many people here. H: This is the most people we've had all weekend. They've all come back for you guys, who've come and seen us after the race. How are you both doing? Oscar: (pauses) A lot better now! L: Yeah, better now. We're—we're both... This is the one race, and things were going so beautifully, I was leading the majority of the race, and… yeah. It hurts! It hurts coming away from it knowing I almost could've won in my home race, and that's been my dream since I was a kid. So. I'm sorry! But… I'll save it for next year.  H: Hold on a minute. I don't think you need to apologize for anything. I think these guys are still absolutely over-the-moon. I think I can speak on behalf of every single person here to say that they're immensely proud of you and your performance this year. And that goes for you too, Oscar! The team as a whole. This is your team's home race... L: (stares at Oscar intensely and quickly pats his arm) O: (giggles)

To steal that line from Lewis, we have the best fans.  H: What is it actually like being up here, though? Soaking this up. I mean, we never do this any other race; this is the only race we come back to after the race is done and see all of the fans. How special is it? L: It's, uh… it's quite easily the best race of the whole year. It's genuinely the most incredible feeling standing here, having so much support. It was a hard act to follow after Lewis was here, but we want to come back and we want to do better every single time. (gestures at teleprompter) You've only got two minutes left, but I could stay here all night. H: Okay! I just want to say, you do this to me often on stage. You always read my [teleprompter] and tell me when I need to wrap up.  L: (shrugs) H: (sarcastic) I've got it, thank you. Thank you very much. (notices crowd chanting for a shoey) Oh, they want a shoey! L: (softly, shaking head) No.  O: Not happening. H: I think that's a you thing, that's definitely an Aussie thing. O: Last year I got peer pressured. I'm not going to have it again. H: Can we peer pressure you again? O: (shakes head)

First - please check Maximum's art - one of my fav TSP artists fr fr <333 Thanks for the ask!!
I asked for the files and now I'm sharing it here for you guys, too of the original TSP: HD REMIX greenlight.
I want to say that the TSPUD release took some inspiration from this campaign and I will compare the two, focusing mainly on the greenlight as you've asked for it.
There is a lot to unpack here so, I will break this into a few parts.
TABLE OF CONTENT

1a) The First Trailer
Let's look at this trailer first. From what I can tell, this is the first instance of the 2013 intro. The layout of the Parable is once again unique, which happens in other trailers, too.
What is intriguing is the ending.

The exit sign - was also visible in 2011 Escape Ending (with Curator), and 2013 (Mariella Ending - it's green). The only instance of it being above the door is the Demo (door close to 'Do you like the Stanley Parable' choice). It feels like a clever blend of the 2011 and 2013 ending to me, as the Narrator experiments more with the new placement. That's maybe why the layout feels isn't as familiar.
It's also the first instance where we see Stanley being conscious, besides the 2011 opening. From his perspective - he woke up to completely. Every video present in it is from the intro - which, seeing erratic movements from the camera, could mean those are new to him, too.
My take is this is where the Other Stanley comes in place. As he can move too, he might either be the guy who we see in the trailers OR, the one in the video. I like both interpretations
This trailer was reimagined for the PS5 release of TSPUD.
The layout is also different from the main game. What is intriguing, however, is the setup. While the intro does show the room from above, making this fake 427 room just a scrapped material, the fact that the new Freedom ending (look at the difference in the sky between the images), only furthers what I said in my prev post (about IOS release )

Conclusions:
For trailers, the Narrator likes to make new parts of the Parable and play with layouts, letting Stanley run around freely.
That Stanley might be The Other Stanley. These, besides the Escape Pod Ending, are the only spots that Stanley moves by himself.
The greenlight trailer is there to show the new content from the perspective of 2011 mod, with a small callback to the original.
Now, onto
1b) The Raphael Trailer
Link to it Before I get to the trailer, I just want to give a shoutout to a Raphael Parable mod. It's an interesting fan game and I truly admire it.
The orange walls are typical Source SDK engine ones, and we have the emotion boxes found later in the Demo.

It's the typical type of crazy list we see in the Demo, Disco, and iOS new content; I feel this is closer to most of them, written by the Narrator instead of Proctols like the Disco one.
It's also the first mention of other types of game and the Narrator's interest in them. The survival horror element with the Bicycle scene is really nice. It shows up later in the Memory Zone <3
In general - this is, before Cookie9, the first canon situation of the Narrator reading other people's feedback on the game. Just like with Cookie, he seems to take a proactive method with negative feedback, trying to show he can change. The attitude, however, also changed - for Raphael's ending, he is still 2011 way meaner self. The amount of sarcasm throughout the whole thing is so enjoyable and, whoever Raphael is, I hope he enjoyed this.
Conclusions:
The Narrator takes a proactive approach to critique that feels close to heart.
The construction part with desk 000 is shown for the first time - which could potentially mean each office number corresponds also to the part of office built.
2) The Images
There are 17 images in total. This part is also referenced in the PS5 TSPUD release video but also, if you look at the Mind Control Facility, some of the images are also used there as some of the room renders.
There are main three types of these images. The first, the contradictions that are also present in the PS5 video. It's a theme in the game in general to combine these, as The End is Never The End (thing that the PS5 text segment ends with) only shows it more.

The second element - image 7 mentioned multiple different games styles that just like the video, fits the fact the Narrator loves gaming.

But the third one is most interesting. The text in these seems conscious

For the person who could say this, it could be either The Narrator or The Settings.
a) The Narrator: - Asking someone for help when game doesn't work like he thought:
Demo: " THEY SAID THEY LIKED IT! I NEED SOMEONE TO STOP THE DEMO! HELLO??"
Expo Achievement Fix: "Who fixed it? Is someone here?" ;
Confusion" "Will someone come for us?" - Skip Button parallels:
Image 12: slow corruption and scattered mind,
Image 15: "I am in control" ("It's all out of my control now. ") ,
Image 16: repetition,
Image 17: the return to normality
b) The Settings Person / 432 / TimeKeeper : - This could be his first appearance in the series.
- References to 'someone' could be his coworkers.
- Image 12: we know the number 8 is significant in the game. Just like the Bucket and Gamborrata, we know there seems to be some spiritual stuff going on and that might be the exact moment when he became the Timekeeper.
- Image 14: "If someone could get rid of the text maybe then I would see what the game is about" seems not quite like The Narrator's thing to say, as it's his game. Rather than that, it feels like someone else could be involved. - and with the corruption, it feels like a great
- Image 15: "don't tell me what to do" and Image 17: 'Let's begin again' fit their Settngs Persona
Both interpretations are as likely and while I prefer it's 432, feel free to make your own interpretations :] Maybe it's even a new character we don't know!
EDIT: I want to just show the smallest text on image 14:

"I would just like to know who is writing all of this. Do you know who is doing that. Would you please ask them to stop? Because I'm trying to figure out what this game is about (covered)"
This one part could mean whatever we see here are transcripts of thoughts, or what the person is saying is either written on the slides as they speak (meaning someone IS observing them), or they possibly have internet access (Google Translator). Once again, both can be true for The Narrator and 432 but, I thought it was a neat detail :]
Now, onto the last part:
3) The FAQ
It ties a bit back to who might be the person speaking in the images. And here, I would say it's even harder to tell due to the answers.
The question that starts it all is this:

If you remember the iOS post, the Narrator will in the future to this say he holds back on the details. Of course, as this is Davey/Cakebread, it could be interpreted as one of the Proctols speaking.
The second part though, is really interesting.

The question of identity is one in gen also present in the game (i.e. Confusion ending).
But the ending note-
"I'm alone again, aren't I."
makes me feel that once again. This might be either a) someone else entirely,
b) The Settings Person (theme of loneliness, loss of identity, understanding of weird rules),
c) Or, for this one my favourite, The Narrator.
Skip: "And here I am now, stuck in a room waiting for you (...) and that I'm going to be stuck all alone(...)" 
Bucket apartment: "No, no no, no, no, no, no, no, what's going on? Why do I want to be with the bucket, hear what the bucket has to say do anything it asks, what's wrong with me? I don't understand!"
4) Final conclusions
First - thank you maximum for the ask. I had no clue about the Greenlight Steam page so, this was a delight to look through and analyse. Here are my final thoughts on this:
This was still a collaborative work for the Narrator. The construction work, the different characters seemingly present in the images and the FAQ work well with the Demo having mention of Proctols. He used some old ideas and is going into new territory.
Trailers are spaces for Stanley (or, the Other Stanley) to walk in peacefully without a player's interference. It's unclear which Stanley is it.
The critique was meaningful to him from the start. The way he responded to it felt similar, but the emotional impact seemed to have changed, just like he did between TSP and TSPUD.
Themes of madness and loss of identity are important in the game. It might be the first instance of The Settings Person appearance, but no canon information is shown.
The FAQ might be the last canon instance of him being directly in touch with the Proctols.

What are your ryomina headcanons? I've loved these two since I played P3 FES, and I'm so excited to get back into the fandom^^
hi!! thank you so much for the ask, welcome back to the p3 fandom, it's always a delight to see new and old ryomina fans alike! 🥺💛💙
as for headcanons, here's a "few" i that i tend to come back to a lot! my interpretations of them are influenced from both the source material and other's fanworks, so i've linked to them as i saw fit! hcs in no particular order under the cut because oops this got long (900 word bullet point list, mentions of reload content up to 1/1)
minato's hair is dyed blue (hair originally brown, you can see it in his roots!) and he has a beauty mark on under his left eye. i like mirror imagery and there's definitely a few arts i've rb'd that portray them this way :) (e.g. this one by feliichu and this one by marasschino)
as far as i'm concerned the bathhouse scene from the manga where ryoji's hair down = similar shape to minato? that is canon to me. this art from xierru is a fun depiction of hair down ryoji :D
ryoji is homeless. everyone say thank you foxmulder_whereartthou for this awesome fic it's why i have the headcanon! but like seriously. we have no idea where ryoji lives and i could believe this.
minato dying at the end of the game is sad to an outsider's POV BUT!!! ryomina gets to be together in death for the rest of their lives (this illustration from mafuwara is a gorgeous representation of them as nyx avatar + the seal)!
speaking of the seal, they are like telepathically communicating to me in the great seal together. (mymp3 had a comic wip with this. give it a looksie :D)
ryoji likes cuddling with minato because he's warm :) (something something orpheus has fire affinity, minato is warm by extension and ryoji is cold because he's death)
ryoji's camera roll is filled with pictures of minato! ryoji... loves life, to me. and i feel that photography and journaling are perfect ways of expressing gratitude and capturing the moments in life that are most important to you :3
my other favorite activity for these two is stargazing- i feel like it's something they could appreciate either in life or death (looking at the stars from the great seal...)! they do a bit of this in the fic eurydice's vow by crescentmoontea (P5R spoilers, takes place in third sem it's a very fun fic concept).
between ryoji and minato i feel like ryoji was the one who fell in love first- and it doesn't really click in place for minato that he loves ryoji until december hits (appriser reveal + ryoji transforming into thanatos). its about the realization that ryoji was with him for his whole life and that he gets him like no one else does.
ryoji is like a sad and wet puppy who is so scared minato won't like him back. he is so scared of being rejected by minato to me like. this boy straight up deflates after he does his "i know i said i wanted us to be friends, but... i actually want to be something more." / "what about you?" on 12/1 ???
AND SPEAKING of wet puppy ryoji. ryoji is like. every animal in the world to me. he's a bird. he's a cat. etc. and also ryoji knows every language in the world ever and uses it to express his love for minato. see this fic from superheroics to see what i mean.
both of them are lactose intolerant. "this isn't lactose, it's milk!" i definitely think ryoji would make himself sick eating ice cream and milk he doesn't know what lactose is. (i made a silly poll about this once and the tags were very entertaining.)
i see minato as transmasc or nonbinary depending on the day (schrodinger's headcanons babey they're simultaneously true and not true at the same time!!). either way he's not cis to me and ryoji is like. His Gender. anyway go read this fic by nail_gun for t4t ryomina :D !
ryomina are WEIRD GUYS TO ME!!! they are so strange and they understand each other better than anyone else because of the circumstances of their relationship!!! if you asked them to do the "i wonder what i taste like" meme i think they'd start biting each other (affectionate) tbh but that's just me.
after ryoji gives minato the music box in 12/31 on reload, minato listens to the music box every night in january. this boy has insomnia and also chronic illness to me (things that housing death does to you). but i think he finds comfort in the melody and memories he made with ryoji.
in general, i think it's fun to imagine minato taking ryoji to places and show him things he's interested in! i feel that ryoji takes a lot of interest in minato's life, this isn't really a hc because in reload, minato DOES give ryoji a tour of the school (11/9) and possibly port island (11/12). but ITS CUTE OK! (tangentially related fanwork: this series of doodles from vinnigami: 1, 2, and 3)
not a hc but minato's kindness is like the backbone of their relationship and i think we would not have the ryomina we know and love today if minato wasn't such a kind soul. oh minato.... we can learn so much from you... like ryoji did!
anyway! that's all the hcs that i could think of, thank you for the ask! i had a lot of fun answering this, these two mean a lot to me 💛💙

Rules and FAQ
Rules
This is a character-focused poll, not streamer. However, because of the sheer volume of nominations, we are not specifying between different server characters, e.g. Rats SMP Scott versus Origins SMP Scott. Just put down Scott Smajor, and the nomination will be for an entire portfolio of character work. 
The character does not have to identify as a man to be considered, but they do have to fall under the “sexyman” category. E.g. Iskall would be a good fit, but Stressmonster would not. 
The character does not have to be remotely human and in fact it might be better if they’re part monster. We love a good set of wings on a man.
To be considered for the poll, the character must be 18 or older during the run of the server. They do not need to have entered the server as 18, but they need to have exited the server as an adult. There is no maximum age.
Sexyman is using the tumblr definition, which often includes the fact that the source material is not that sexy/detailed/gender, but boy did the artists run with it. We believe the opportunity presented by Minecraft skins offers a peak opportunity for sexyman-ness. You do not have to be attracted to the character, but you do have to go “oh wow, someone’s having fun” at what the artists/writers are doing. 
We will be running a 96-character bracket, for the most fun matchups.

FAQ
Why are you doing this? There is a devil on my shoulder.
I think some of the nominated sexymen are just Sexy Men, not tumblr sexymen. This is when you get to rally followers to your side and defeat them in the court of tumblr democracy. Or vote for them even harder, whichever floats your boat. 
I want to vote for a character who’s an NPC, can I? Go for it. We personally think that Eddie-The-Dilf can make a fine sexyman.
I want to know how many nominations someone has? The mods are answering nomination count questions on a “when we feel like it” basis, cause otherwise we would be answering nomination questions constantly. You may have to wait for the spreadsheet release.
I want to nominate a specific guy five times. Well that would be voter fraud, which is frowned on, but I can’t personally stop you. Do what’s in your heart and what the sexymen drive you to do. 
I want to see the spreadsheet. It will be released once it’s sorted!
When do we get to vote for sexy ladies? First of all, hello tommyinnit, second of all, let me get the sexymen out of the way first and see if this ends up with twitter cancellations before I commit to more brackets.
So when does voting start? As soon as we finish crunching the data! So hopefully Sunday!

Matthew Goode "has that fire behind the eyes"
Incredible praise for the performances in Freud's Last Session, particularly Matthew Goode, in this interesting podcast about the film (link below). I must listen to their podcast about The Offer because they loved Matthew as Bob.
I have extracted the most interesting bits from the transcript (that is, the MG bits 😆).
I do agree with them Matthew is at par with the great and the good and that he was snubbed by awards more than once (but I think it's more than twice!).
I love that they have picked up on his non-verbal communication. I love that quote "fire behind the eyes"!
Interesting they think his lack of visibility despite the brilliant acting is because he is in a crowded field (many good actors in his generation). I think it's a bit more complicated than that, a confluence of circumstances and choice perhaps 🤔

I felt like the acting was operating at a higher level than the source material.
2.46 Amazing neither of these guys got any sort of other nominations for acting and I'm not talking about necessarily Academy Awards but I'm talking like maybe baftas or something else. I think is kind of a shame frankly this is like the second thing I've seen mat Matthew Gooden that he was completely like ignored via nomination

5:11 Watching two masters work and I'm going to use that with Matthew good I've seen him now on enough stuff and how he can change and how he and he holds his own with Anthony Hopkins I did not feel it was like Anthony Hopkins was at this level and Matthew good was at this level or what like you know low that was a little bit lower or whatever like they're equal like they are it's a nice repertoire or you know reper of the two of them going back and forth and I'm just super impressed
5:40 I mean obviously we talked about the offer already I think he was amazing as Bob Evans like really just changed his entire personality to really mimic Bob Evans and here he's nothing like it he's very reserved very intelligent very academic like he really pulls that off I mean Matthew good I really feel like is one of those like that unknown I want to say like the poor man's Benedict Cumberbatch but only in the sense of the Poor Man's because he's not as well known as Benedict Cumberbatch like he's got that acting chops of Cumberbatch he should be playing roles that Cumberbatch isn't heck he's been in movies that Cumberbatch is in imitation game …he held his own there I mean so Matthew good is amazing and it as so fun to watch him
14:13 Freud just wears his emotions on his sleeve and then good is really great at having that restrained but that fire burning behind the eyes which is something that he did so well in um The Watchmen yeah so really spot-on casting

16:52 I'm excited to see what Matthew does what what he goes on to do to see if he starts getting some bigger roles and more important stuff I mean he does have a small body not I don't know small is the the right word for it I know he does have a body of work already but it's not as robust as Hopkins you know and it definitely hasn't the same trajectory as Hopkins did yeah and he I think he lost out roles that went to Christian Bale yeah I can see that or like Bale's a little older but I just looked up Matthew was born in 78 so I think it's kind of just a circumstance you know luck of the draw kind of thing yeah cuz he reminds me quite a bit of Bale the way he kind of moves and Carries himself and the British actor that that category is kind of crowded with like really good actors I mean if you look guys like born in the 70s like mid to late like that's just a ton of them it's super crowded so I think he's run into some of that yeah and there's I mean obviously there's only so many roles and people.

Starting 2024's content creation journey with a bang, it's time to outline the principles behind the FujoVerse™: an ambitious (but realistic) plan to turn the web back into a place of fun, joy, and connection, where people build and nurture their own communities and software. (You can also read the article on my blog)
The Journey
As those who follow my journey with @bobaboard or read my quarterly newsletter (linked in the article) know, the used-to-be-called BobaVerse™ is a collection of projects I've been working on since 2020 while pondering an important question: how do we "fix" the modern social web?

Obviously the joyless landscape that is the web of today is not something a single person can fix. Still, I loved and owed the internet too much to see it wither.
After countless hours of work, I found 3 pillars to work on: community, software ownership and technical education.

Community
Community is where I started from, with good reason! While social networks might trick us into thinking of them as communities, they lack the characteristics that researchers identify as the necessary base for "true community": group identity, shared norms, and mutual concern.
Today, I'm even more convinced community is a fundamental piece of reclaiming the web as a place of joy. It's alienating, disempowering, and incredibly lonely to be surrounded by countless people without feeling true connection with most of them (or worse, feeling real danger).

Software Ownership and Collaboration
As I worked with niche communities "software ownership" also became increasingly important to me: if we cannot expect mainstream tech companies to cater to communities at the margins, it follows that these communities must be able to build and shape their own software themselves.
Plenty of people have already discussed how this challenge goes beyond the tech. Among many, "collaboration" is another sticking point for me: effective collaboration requires trust and psychological safety, both of which are in short supply these days (community helps here too, but it's still hard).

Education (Technical and Beyond)
As I worked more and more with volunteers and other collaborators, however, another important piece of the puzzle showed itself: the dire state of educational material for non-professional web developers. How can people change the web if they cannot learn how to *build* the web?
(And yes, learning HTML and CSS is absolutely important and REAL web development. But to collaborate on modern software you need so much more. Even further, people *yearn* for more, and struggle to find it. They want that power, and we should give it to them.)
Once again, technical aspects aren't the only ones that matter. Any large-scale effort needs many skills that society doesn't equip us with. If we want to change how the web looks, we must teach, teach, TEACH! If you've seen me put so much effort into streaming, this is why :)
And obviously, while I don't go into them in this article, open source software and decentralized protocols are core to "this whole thing".

The Future
All of this said, while I've been working on this for a few years, I've struggled to find the support I need to continue this work. To this end, this year I'm doing something I'm not used to: producing content, gaining visibility, and putting my work in front of the eyes of people that want to fight for the future of the web.
This has been a hard choice: producing content is hard and takes energy and focus away from all I've been doing. Still, I'm committed to doing what it takes, and (luckily) content and teaching go hand in hand. But the more each single person helps, the less I need to push for wide reach.

Beatles Radio Shows
My recent ~endeavors~ have led me to dig up a bunch of old radio shows by and about the Beatles, and I wanted to share them in one place.
These are unofficial uploads. If you've ever searched out old Beatles-related content - particularly audio or video content - you have likely experienced the crushing devestation of locating a download link to some obscure interview George Harrison gave in 1977, only to click it and find the link dead! If you're interested in listening to any of the shows listed here, or think you may be interested one day, I recommend downloading them now rather than suffering the bitter sting of a dead link in days to come.
By the Beatles
Paul McCartney's Routes of Rock (Host: Paul McCartney; Approx. Runtime: 2.5hrs)
A five-part series that aired on BBC radio in October and November 1999. It was part of the promo for Paul's mostly-covers album, Run Devil Run. In this series, Paul plays old rock 'n' roll tracks along with his recent covers, interspersed with discussion of his formative musical influences and some cute early-Beatles anecdotes.
Ringo's Yellow Submarine (Host: Ringo Starr; Approx. Runtime: 26hrs)
A twenty-six-part series that ran on the ABC Radio Network from June 4 to November 26, 1983. Unfortunately, I only have links to the first three episodes atm. Episode 1 // Episode 2 // Episode 3
About the Beatles
The Lost Lennon Tapes (Host: Elliot Mintz; Approx. Runtime: 221hrs)
Perhaps the most famous Beatles radio show of them all? The Lost Lennon Tapes ran from Januar 24, 1988 to March 29, 1992. The huge draw here is the inclusion of audio from the Lennon/Ono archives. I believe this is the only publicly available source for audio from many John Lennon interviews. Unfortunately, you only get to hear a few minutes of any interview at a time!
The show also features interviews with people from John's life (e.g. Julia Baird and Sean) as well as Beatles experts (including a young Mark Lewisohn!) There's huge depth here, and it's very much worth the listen.
The above link includes episode names, but this site has a more detailed list of what's included in each episode.
The Beatles - The Days In Their Life (Host: Ira Lipson; Approx. Runtime: 30hrs)
A 21-part series that aired in 1981 and followed the Beatles career from their genesis to the modern day. Includes archival interviews as well as (I think) new interview material with many people in the Beatles' stories.
The Beatles Story (Host: Brian Matthew; Approx. Runtime: 14hrs)
A BBC Radio 1 series that came out ~1972, with an extra episode that came out ~1974. Many original interivews were conducted for this series, but I believe we only see a subset of the existing material on this show. From the quotes in Tune In, it appears there are full tapes out there, perhaps in the BBC Archives - if anyone has any idea where the full interviews (conducted by Johnny Beerling) may be accessible, I'd love to know!
Collections of Misc. Radio Interviews
Series aside, here are a few accounts that have uploaded a number of one-off interviews with the Beatles:
The Beatles Interviews on YouTube. Lots of great, lengthy interviews, along with a few shorter clips. Disclaimer: the video titles don't always correctly identify the year/interviewer. Fortunately, Beatles fans live to correct things, so there is always lively discussion in the comments to sort out who the interviewer actually is, and when the interview was conducted.
Beatle Stories on YouTube. While the above channel's video titles are at times incorrect, this channel's titles are mostly straight-up unhelpful lol. Still, there's some good content here.
The Beatle Tapes 2 on the Internet Archive. This is the same user who uploaded The Beatles Story (see above). They have over five hundred uploads including many radio interviews, some video interviews, and several live performances as well. A treasure trove!

Smells Like Steady Vocals and Perfect Pitch
Part 1.
I wrote this on April 5th, 2024 in a fit of rage/inspiration. I wasn't going to post it but I've decided to anyway because I'd like to give a little perspective about why Jimin, out of all the members of BTS, is popular in the US, and why I think he has amazing potential as a solo artist if he's given the right team and tools.

Today is the 30th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, so it feels like a sign from the heavens that it's time to write a post I've been composing in my head for months.
So often when I'm on Twitter/X looking for information about Jimin, I see one nasty comment after another downplaying his singing, his artistry, and his talent in general. The phrase repeated the absolute most by the fandom of a particular member is that the reason HYBE invests in one above all the others is because he has the most stable singing voice. And perfect pitch. And the perfect tone for pop music.
Frankly, I get so sick of reading those comments, but I also have to laugh, because it shows such a fundamental misunderstanding of what appeals to music fans in the US/Western countries.
If you open Spotify right now and search for Nirvana, you will see 31.1 million monthly listeners! As a reminder, their last album was released 30 years ago and they only put out 3 major label albums over a 3 year period. Meanwhile, BTS has 28.6 monthly listeners and has a discography a mile long and a career spanning more than 10 years.
Do you honestly think that Nirvana has enjoyed so much popularity over the years because Kurt Cobain had perfect pitch and could sing live? Yeah, no.
I remember where I was the first time I heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit." I couldn't decide if I loved it or hated it, but the song held a strange grip on me. It was sooo different than all the other popular music at the time, even in the alternative scene. It wasn't quite punk, wasn't quite heavy metal. The song was angry and raw, but also oddly charming. But mostly, it was refreshingly different from all the highly produced music that was on radio stations' rotations at the time. Don't believe me? Here's a link to the Billboard Top 100 on the week "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was initially released:
Check out the list and tell me how many of these songs you know. Probably a few, but not many have withstood the test of time (shout out to 3 a.m. Eternal by The KLF, though. That was a fun song).
This was the #1 song that week:
Didn't like it then. Don't like it now.
Now compare that to Smells Like Teen Spirit:
Look at the Billboard list again. Lots R&B (love), dance tracks, a smattering of college radio/alternative tunes, and a whole lot of what we would call easy listening/adult contemporary music. A snooze fest. Nirvana came along at the right time when the American music audience was in desperate need of something more authentic and not so over produced.
Sorry for this long-winded pop music history lesson. Believe it or not, I have a point to make. Americans like a huge range of music styles (as can be seen on the current Billboard charts). We get bored easily. We don't demand a steady voice or perfect pitch. What we want is something new. Something innovative. Something authentic. The biggest western pop stars who have enjoyed long careers in North America know that they must push boundaries and release new, unexpected material in order to stay relevant.
Be it BTS' English trilogy, songs that blatantly emulate American pop singers, or the conveyor belt of 2 minute TikTok-ready tunes sung by Korean girls, so far it doesn't seem like we should expect anything terribly innovative or cutting edge now that Big Hit has morphed into HYBE with its many labels/subsidiaries. Fickle American audiences will move on quickly, in my humble opinion.
One last thing. The US is a huge country with very diverse cultures based upon geographical location. Gender, age, ethnicity, urban vs. rural, and region of the US all influence what people are listening to. What's popular in Atlanta isn't necessarily popular in Salt Lake City, for example. Americans are not a homogenous group and neither is our taste in music.

OK SO. very hard to choose five fics. I enjoyed writing all of them for different reasons, but some of them make me prouder than others ngl 💓🤧
in no particular order (because id go crazy):
SECOND CHANCES (Taekyung/Daon/Shinwoo, Light On Me)
This is one of the stories I'm most proud of! It's the first story I wrote with a poly relationship, it explores Daon's feelings after the ending of the show and how he starts falling in love with Shinwoo too and struggles to make sense of it.
I love Daon a lot and it was very cathartic to delve into his journey, I put a lot of myself in this since I headcanon Daon to be demiromantic and I'm aro soooo yeah I had a blast and it always makes emotional when someone reads it <3

IN BLOOM (Pat/Pran, Bad Buddy)
My first attempt at writing Hanahaki, I usually don't like the trope so I had to modify it a little. In my version the disease is linked to the secrecy of your feelings, so you only die (or have to get treatment) if you don't confess, it doesn't matter if the feelings are unrequited or not.
This was fun and I cried writing it because once again I projected a little too hard onto Pran and his relationship with his mom, what can you dooo

IT TOOK ME A YEAR TO FINISH THIS ONE. The funny thing is that WEEKS after posting the last chapter I realized i had posted it exactly one year after the first, same day same month.
Anyway!! Once again this is projection galore, Mike is arospec in my heart and El is aroace, lots of queerness and exploration and friendship and conversations about feelings. Another cathartic journey for yours truly
Also I had SO MUCH FUN because with so many characters you can explore all kinds of dynamics and create some pretty funny dialogues <3

This is technically a series but I can't choose between Thorns & Roses and A Splash Of The Sun, they're pretty similar anyway. This is the Tattoo Parlor VegasPete AU, the vision came to me in a state of great horniness dream and now here we are........
I don't read much smut but I do like writing it when the right idea hits me. The thing I liked the most, besides the smut itself, is that I had to keep the characters IC even though their background is completely different from the source material, but people told me I did alright so I'm pretty proud of that!!

From OTP to OC’s: How to scrub your favorite fandom couple into original characters
Plot out a completely new story that you are dying to write—because all your favorite stuff is still there.
If you’re a fanfiction writer, you probably have at least one OTP (One True Pairing, meaning your favorite fictional romantic couple). You might have written them a beautiful story (or thirty) on AO3.
But at some point, you may want to take your OTP out of fandom and into the world of original fiction. Possibly because it makes your writing accessible to people who aren’t part of your fandom, and possibly (probably) because unlike fanfic, for original fiction, you can actually get paid.
So how on earth do you take other people’s characters and make them your own, without getting rid of the fire that sparks your muse?
In my journey from fanfic to original fic, I started by writing AUs (alternate universes) of my first OTP, Aziraphale and Crowley from Good Omens. In an AU, you are making big changes to the source material, but leaving in most of what your fandom loves about the characters. In a Good Omens AU, Aziraphale and Crowley are often human instead of angel and demon, but the basic enemies-to-lovers trope usually remains, along with the personalities of the characters, and as many similarities to the original story as you can fit in.
Scrubbing (that really is the technical term) fandom all the way to original is the same process, it just goes farther. When you’re done scrubbing, the only things left about your OTP will be the pieces you as a writer can’t live without.
So what are those pieces? Well, it’s entirely subjective. But you can follow these five steps to find them:
1. List your characters’ traits
We’re going to take as example an OTP I am currently scrubbing, which is just as cringy as all of your OTP’s: Link and Sidon from The Legend of Zelda Nintendo games. You don’t need to have any idea who that is to follow this article. But here are their character traits, the good and the flaws:
Link: human (or elf?) male, great hero of legend, very good at fighting, quiet, private, helpful, mischievous, possibly in love with someone he doesn’t remember (Princess Zelda), guilty, and haunted by past failures.
Sidon: 7-foot-tall shark man, gregarious, ridiculously optimistic and complimentary, charming, nerdy, sometimes over-confident, a good fighter, ages slowly compared to humans (or elves), and oh yeah, he’s a prince. 
Note that these don’t have to be the traits the fandom at large assigns to these characters. This is the way you see them.
2. List your ship’s tropes
“Ship” is short for relationship, in this case our romance. So for these dudes, we have: human/nonhuman or human/monster, royal/commoner, long lifespan/short lifespan, and size difference.
3. List your plot’s main points
In the two games that have Sidon (Link’s in all the games), Link has to go to four different places and help four different peoples (leaving Sidon behind), then beat a bad guy in a castle, and save the world.
4. Scrub in
Now we’re ready for the operation. You’re going to go through everything you listed and start throwing things out. As you do, ask yourself this question: Does my heart still race? 
If you take out a piece and your muse is still humming for this OTP, then let it go. But if the absence of that part ruins the whole thing for you, then leave it in. Remember, you don’t want people to recognize this as a certain fandom or ship, so take out everything you possibly can.
So for the Link/Sidon ship, I’m asking myself, Does it matter (to me) that one is royalty? Does it matter that they age differently? Does it matter that one’s two feet taller? Does it matter that one is a monster? Do I still need to have a save-the-world plot? Do I still need them to be separated sometimes during the story? And so on. Again, this is entirely subjective: leave in only what floats your personal boat.
5. Make it weird
You have your list! Congrats! Now it’s time to change every other detail you can, because you want to make your story as different from the original as possible.
Let’s say I decide I really want to keep my monster character. Then it definitely shouldn’t be a shark man like Sidon. So I’m asking myself the same kinds of questions: Does it matter (to me) that he’s seven feet tall? Does it matter that he has sharp teeth? Does it matter that he can breathe underwater? And so on. 
Perhaps the only thing I really care about is my monster’s size. In that case, I need to come up with a large humanoid creature that’s as different from a shark as possible: maybe a centaur, bear shapeshifter, giant alien bird person, or scientist that had an accident in the cloning lab. 
Let character and plot shape each other into a completely new story that you are dying to write—because all your favorite stuff is still there.
Here are two original stories I wrote based on fandom ships:
You Don’t Say: When two fake psychic con men who secretly pine for each other are forced to work together to solve a disappearance, they discover that one of them is actually psychic. But which one? This is Aziraphale and Crowley, with the tropes of enemies-to-lovers, dorkiness, and bickerflirting preserved, along with elements of magic. Turns out those were the only pieces I couldn’t let go, and the resulting story is nothing like Good Omens, but was really fun to write.
Bloom: A shy older man with magical abilities becomes the muse of a beautiful young male artist. This comes from one of my OTPs from the 2018 TV show The Terror: John Bridgens and Henry Peglar, an older man/younger man, teacher/student ship. I left in the age difference (toned down quite a bit), and kept the outgoing/shy trope, but changed the teacher into an artist’s muse with a gift of magic. This story has very little in common with a horror show about Sir John Franklin’s doomed 1840’s arctic expedition—except the few parts I couldn’t live without.
There is one major disadvantage for a fanfic writer moving to original fiction: you will not get nearly as many readers for original fic. But remember, readers in your fandom are there because they love the same character traits and tropes you do, some of which will be preserved in your story. You may not have as many readers, but you will get some fans of your own! And maybe even some sales.

1- What's the name of your AU if there is one? If no official name what would you call it?
Time Variant Authority/ Time Travel AU
2- What is the most prominent differing factor between your AU and the original source Material?
Time travel was discovered by The Creator, though he deemed it too powerful and catastrophic to use. Eclipse got his grubby little hands on it and just had it. Monty discovers it and is the first to use it.
3- What is your favorite character in the source material and who's your favorite character within your AU?
In canon I Miku is my favorite character xD, I just like the chaos she brings. In this AU my favorite character in this is Eclipse. He's more of an evil Solar actually and that's what's interesting to me.
4- Are any of the characters in a relationship (QPR, Romantic, Emotional, ect.)? If so what are the most defined ones you've built so far, and within the universe how did their bond come along?
There are canon romantic relationships. But I go into Eclipse's relationship with Puppet a lot, we see how they fell apart by his actions when he's time travelling. Monty and Moon's relationship is vital to the story, Moon is a kind of key character to the universe itself.
5-What 'fanfic tropes/fanfic tags' does your AU use?
Uhhhhhh I have no clue.
6-Do any characters within your AU have any disabilities (mental or physical)?
Monty has ADHD, Sun has anxiety and OCD, Moon is "eccentric", Eclipse is a sociopath, and Puppet has PTSD. Uhh idk what else.
7- Do any characters have familial bond amongst eachother? If so how strong are their bonds, and how did they come about?
The family bond is very important to this story. Eclipse is Lunar's father in this so their relationship is important. As the AU progresses Eclipse becomes addicted to time travel and the power he has being able to change time itself, he ends up isolating himself from Lunar and the rest of his family.
Sun and Moon were made by Creator, separating made Eclipse, he made Lunar, Earth is made by Creator. Bloodmoon and KC were never made/born, instead Moon, Eclipse, and Lunar have parts of the homicide code.
8- What are the ages of the characters in your au? Or are the ageless/immortal?
Robots (for the main variant of this AU). Everyone is adults except Lunar.
9- what's the general world like? Is it futuristic, modern, apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, does it take place mainly in a coffee shop or something of the sort?
Starts out in the Pizzaplex, they're just doing their jobs. Moon dies actually, Monty time travels Eclipse follows him. Eclipse keeps doing it, changing the dimension as he pleases.
[Moon never invented portal travel, or doesn't until later. So nobody knew there were other dimensions, it was kinda just a theory Moon had.]
10 - are you working on any fanworks (fanfic, askblogs, rp blogs, animation, comics, ect.) about this au? If so link them!
I'd like to make a comic-type thing for this, but it will mostly be written out and released on Wattpad and AO3.
11 - What is the worst thing(s) that happened to a character(s)? Did they have a tough life, a loss, or anything of the sort? If so what? How did it affect them?
It starts out "happy". In the way of there isn't the craziness and adventures the canon has. There's just the Pizzaplex. I'll explain later in the story how the homicide code was an important thing earlier but is no longer as much anymore. Moon never fully trusts Eclipse, especially around people.
12 - what's the best thing(s) that happened to a character(s)? How did it affect them?
Uhhhh July 16th never happened. So yay. Maybe I'll add an adult Evelien. Creator doesn't appear as bad as he is in canon.
13 - Did you take any unique design choices for any of the characters? If so describe or show them off!
I plan to draw but for now have Gacha designs (the designs can/ might change)

14 - What character(s) in the AU have been worked on and built up the most and what are they like?
Eclipse is the main character, and kind of the villain in the story. I go into Lunar a lot too.
15 - What is your least favorite character in the source material, and what's your least favorite character in your au?
Vegeta. I love him, but I hate him. He's so cringe. Probably in the AU too, because I need some chaos.
16- Is there any major personality changes you made to the characters?
Lunar mostly. He's considered a kid but he matures a lot throughout the story. He's a lot more like his dad than he should be.
17 - What is the most 'out of character' thing in your AU?
Idk I try to keep them pretty close to the original scouse material?
18 - How long have you been working on this AU?
A few days tbh xD.
19 - Is there any OC's or self-inserts? If so what are they like and how do they affect the story?
I don't use OCs in fanfiction media.
20 - What inspired this AU?
There's somewhere in an Astral Spiff video (I think in a few) where he explains when doing tasks out of order in SB you have to be careful to not skip one of Moon's segments or he jumpscares you. That's been called TVA Moon, and the inspiration for this AU.
21 - Has your AU steered off of your original plan for it at all? If so do you like how its changed? If it stayed the same what's the base idea for it exactly?
I accidentally started writing it as a Human AU variant, so throughout the story you see two parallel dimensions. Both the Eclipses will technically meet.
22 - Do you have any variations of this specific AU? If you do how do they differ amongst eachother?
Oh. Well, yeah, the human variant. And later when you're at the TVA you see hundreds of people time travelling.
23 - Does this AU bring you comfort/was it made for comfort?
No. It's very angst heavy. It starts with Moon's death, there is nothing comforting about this.
24 - Is this your only TSBS AU or do you have any other ones? If other ones is this one your favorite?
I have a bunch. I mostly write for my Main Human AU. I enjoyed working on it.
25 - What parts of the AU are you proudest of?
The reveal of TVA Moon. He just throws Eclipse on the ground and drags him through a portal. It's really funny, and the whole AU has always been about him even tho we follow Eclipse.

No. I just have only been working on this for a few days lol.

Dark probably. It's got angst, Eclipse destroying his life and dimension, hurting his family. Yeah :P

The worst (and most incendiary) of them is likely the "Looper" one, with claims things such as: Unlike Eskel's (Basil Eidenbenz) character, who had fans fuming during "The Witcher" Season 2, there is no point in introducing Radovid if we're not going to follow his villainous origin story. This is the man behind hateful anti-magic rhetoric that propels this universe to fight for magic users' safety.
Although the "Dual Shockers" one, starting with "Imagine if the cunning but despicable Cersei Lannister was made out to be a harmless love interest in HBO's adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones – the fans would riot – and something similar is happening in Netflix’s The Witcher" isn't bad, either, by making it sound like Sapkowski devoted as much ink to buidling up his villain as R.R. Martin did building up Cersei! And that both share a similar presence and importance in their respective books series.

Am I too optimistic hoping this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship?
Because, while the moderators (bureaucrats, administrators, specialists...) haven't been trying to necessarily imply that I was wrong with my edits (ex: adding a footnote specifying that Ciri was not officially engaged to Radovid in canon), there's been a lot of:
"This [picture making a compilation of everything Sapkowski wrote] isn't needed/we just cite books and page numbers."
"We generally don't put markers into the intros."
"The intro paragraphs generally will ref across lore particularly from well established chars but the first parts of his bio are from the books and the dynasty site."
"We don't really include a lot of quotes unless it's important."
Guys, I can fully acknowledge that this is how things have always been done.
But the way things have always been done is currently contributing to the spread of misinformation about the content of the source material, and making things very unpleasant for fans of the books and the TV show.
So, maybe we need to do things differently?
The dynasty site is not an issue itself because all of that extra information came from Andrzej Sapkowski himself.
An article stating "in the books, Radovid has two sisters" is technically talking about things that aren't directly stated in the books, true; but that are still featured in the extra information that was released to the public about those books by the author.
One would thus reasonably expect that such information be included in the introduction of the character on the Wiki, as it belongs to the same lore and the same universe as the books, and fully reflects the author's intent.
The videogames don't. They aren't a companion piece to Sapkowski's books. They simply use Sapdkowski's universe as a skeleton, upon which they built more material.
Having made sure to avoid contradicting (or not contradicting too much) what has already been written by the author in the books does not give you any license to appropriate his work, and then claim that what you've written exists in the same universe / belongs to the same lore as those books!!!
Especially when the author himself has already made his opinion very clear that the videogames can't be considered as being a prequel, sequel, or complement to his work.
And has had his own share of issues with the way the videogames rose to the level of popularity it has.
Full disclosure, the first time I heard about the books, I genuinely thought that Andrzej Sapkowki was the equivalent of David Gaider in North America (one of the lead writers for Bioware). I thought he'd written original material for the games and various books based on those characters, the same way David Gaider had written material for the "Dragon Age" videogames and extra books based on the videogame lore that he'd helped build and establish.
But Sapkowki's books were never written with videogames or TV shows in mind.
I'm a gamer. So, unlike Sapkowski, I do love when stories are told across a bunch of different mediums. I loved learning more about the relationship between Maric Theirin (Alistair's father) and Loghain Mac Tir in Gaider's book "The Stolen Throne".
But David Gaider is a writer that will collaborate with a whole team of writers to create characters and stories that populate that world across a variety of mediums.
It is normal and respectful for the Dragon Age wiki to integrate everything found in the books and the games together in the introduction the way they do on that page, as it is all part of the same world!
But not when they aren't.
I can fully understand that Sapkowski isn't a fan of that approach. I may not share his opinions about it making no sense and being idiotic, obviously; but I can understand and appreciate that he doesn't see any appeal to it, and has no desire or interest to participate in that kind of global world building.
And I especially don't think there's anything wrong with him wanting each adaptation of his work to be considered their very bown thing, rather than be all part the same lore / universe.
He's allowing other people to give him money to use characters and worlds he's built virtually any way they'd like, and enjoy themselves!
The least we could do should be to respect that "The Witcher" 's videogames and "The Witcher" 's books aren't tightly woven together the same way "Dragon Age" 's videogames and "Dragon Age" 's books are, and have it being reflected in the Wikipedia.
Or, at least, reflected enough that it doesn't end up generating such confusion that the actual content of Sapkowski's books series get substituted with CD Projekt Red's writings on entertainment websites articles, for frak's sake!
By the way, thanks @fishesfisher for having reminded me that there's literally no reason why one adaptation should be sharing the same page as the books, other than trying to pretend that they are both part of the same universe.
Not sure I'd be able to win that argument (about putting three different tabs rather than a single one: one for the books, one for the games, and one for the Netflix show), but I sure hope they (the mods, admins, specialists, etc.) should care enough that the situation is completely going against Sapkowski's wishes that his books and the videogames be considered as two different stories being told by different writers rather than part of a single universe; as well as causing needless harm to the fans of the books and the TV show.
And that they'll be willing to discuss potential ways we could use to fix this in order to allow the source material and its adaptations to coexist more respectfully on the main page, and avoid such confusion.
If they don't... Is there any way to ask for a divorce from the general wikipedia of the Witcher?
I mean the videogame also has its very own additional gaming wikipedia , on top of the one that was created for the books and its adaptations.
Can we create a "Books only Wikipedia" and a "Netflix only Wikipedia"?
Like seriously. Why should the game need its own wikipedia if they're going to be front and center on "The Witcher" 's general wiki anyway, and they don't give a damn about what Sapkowski wants?
I'd rather have each member of my Witcher family live in separate homes and go visit each one individually, than watch them constantly fighting each other and ignoring each other's needs!
If divorce is the only way to ensure that the books get accurate representation, and the media stops being confused about what goes where, sign me the fuck up!
Well, after I see if there's any opening in fixing things first. I mean, maybe they just don't know that Sapkowski doesn't consider the games as belonging to the same lore/universe as the books...
Like I said, this could actually be the start of a beautiful friendship!

Community EMH Rewatch
I am proposing a concept: I will orchestrate/host a paced, community wide re-watch of EverymanHYBRID
I am yet to fully formulate a system, because I want so see what the community interest is like first
Some Details:
We will have an amount of days (maybe 3 days? or a week?) to watch a specific portion of EMH, we will repeat this till the end of the series
We will use the EMH compilation videos by Cocytus Media on Youtube, the watch segments will likely be split via timestamps of those videos (within context of the content)
I will make a separate blog for the event, on which I will try to make the experience as smooth as possible by supplying links to the current portion of the video, and other helpful content
I want this to be a community event, so interaction w/ it and our current sections of the rewatch will be greatly encouraged and appreciated
My Motivation/Reasoning:
I think the EMH community could benefit greatly from both a re-watch of the source material, and a community event to bring us together
I would love to see some love and fan-content for parts of EMH which are often overlooked, I think the slow consumption of the series as a group would bring some such needed attention to underrated characters and plot points
I want to stimulate discussion and creation in the community!
I have been lurking in the EMH community for about 5 years now, and I think it's about time I do something bigger than some fanart.
Feel free to leave suggestions on how to formulate/structure the event, as this is an early concept

I have said it time and time again –I am so breathlessly in love that nothing else around me seems to matter. No scandal, no accusations –nothing. He consumes my every thought, makes my heart ache and sets every part of me on fire. There are things that no respectable lady should think or do prior to her marriage…but I have thought them, and I have done them, and I want so much more than that. I want to feel him all over me; I want him to become the very air I breathe so he is all I have in me. 
I have tasted the wines of lust and love and I want more.
Their arrival at My Cottage was marked by a rather hasty hello to the keepers who were waiting outside, a quick, “Thank you but we aren’t hungry,” and a quick retreat to the main building that would be theirs. Perhaps it was in bad taste, rushing through their greetings and even skipping a meal…but truthfully, he didn’t think it mattered at the moment. All Benedict wanted was her, and he knew she felt the same.
The ride from London had been tortuous; even the simplest of touches were driving him mad and Benedict decided she quite liked that it did. She warned him several times that it wouldn’t do to have their wedding night in the carriage, but then continued to tease him when she felt fit. It did not help that her writings were getting more and more detailed. When he had asked her to read to him, he should have known better.
As soon as the front door of the cottage shut, something almost primal took over Benedict. He did not need to be as slow and as careful now; of course he would be gentle, as that is what she deserved. But his hands were reaching for her hips, and before she could even whisper his name, his mouth was on hers in a heated kiss. There was no hesitation from her; the newly wedded Mrs. Bridgerton wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself as close as she could but it still wasn’t enough.
Benedict’s hands inched up her waist, hiking her skirts up, as he pushed her back towards the nearest room. He had no idea which room was the master suite, but none of that mattered at the moment. All he wanted was to lay her down in their bed –their bed –and make love to his wife. Her hands were pulling at his cravat, trying to yank it off so she could feel his skin against hers. When her back hit the door, she didn’t even release her hold on his shirt; she simply reached back with one hand to open the door and the two stumbled into the bedroom with an unbridled excitement.
When the back of her legs touched the edge of the bed, she finally pulled herself away from Benedict –though not too far away, as he moved his lips from hers to her neck as she spoke. Her voice was breathless, almost not even there, as she tugged at the buttons of his shirt.
“There are far too many pieces of clothing between us.”
Benedict made an inhuman sound against her skin before he pulled away and looked down at her, grinning. “I love it when you’re right.” 
Slowly –well, slowly in comparison to how they had previously been –he turned her around. His hands traced up her arms, then over her shoulders before finally reaching the buttons that held her wedding dress in its place. A sigh of contentment slipped from her lips, and he couldn’t help the smile that spread over his face as he undid each button –one by one –and kissed the skin that became exposed to him. The chemise that rested under her dress –a far thinner material than she ever wore before –was held in place by a simple stay and Benedict had an absolute joy untying it and pulling it from her body. 
However, this seemed to be too slow for his wife, who turned to look up at him with a devilish look in her eye –one he had been introduced to in the carriage. Her hands reached up to her shoulders, with her eyes on him still, and she slipped her dress off her body and onto the floor without a care. She reached up and unpinned her hair next, allowing it to fall naturally. It was not the first time she was bare before him –nor would it be the last –but there was a confidence there that she did not have before…and by God, Benedict adored it.
Benedict stood there, admiring her in all her naked glory. Memorizing every freckle and curve; burning it into his mind’s eye so he could remember it forever.
“Let me paint you like this,” he murmured, reaching out to take her by the waist again. Her skin was hot to the touch, and it drew Benedict in closer. Her bare chest pressed against his body, and he swore he could feel her heart beating; though perhaps it was his. “Let me immortalize your beauty forever.”
“You may do whatever you want with me, Benedict,” she promised, raising her arms to take his face in her hands. Her grin was mischievous as ever. “But you must take off your clothes as well.”
It was then that Benedict suddenly remembered what they had started –how could he have possibly forgotten? –and he nodded furiously. It did not take long for him to strip off his jacket and shirt, tossing it to the side. She was growing impatient, and it was certainly Benedict’s turn to make her writhe a bit, but he couldn’t bring himself to do so. Instead, he scooped her into his arm with a flourish, causing her to gasp in surprise as he carried her to the side of the bed. 
Benedict slid onto the bed with her in his arms still, setting her down carefully against the pillows so he could hover over her for a moment. Her confidence seemed to be waning, hesitating for a moment before she reached over to pull him in by the waist of his pants. Her fingers slid under the hem just enough for Benedict to suck in a breath, and he looked down at her with narrowed eyes.
She was simply smiling up at him, innocent as could be. “Please, Benedict,” was all she asked.
Who was he to deny her?
His pants soon joined their clothes on the floor, and they laid bare on the bed together. It was like that first night but then, not at all alike as well. Every nerve was on fire; every touch lit a fuse that could only be doused by her. And even with his lips on hers –their tongues tangled and teeth nipping –he wanted more. One hand held his weight as the other inched down the valley of her breasts, down over her belly, before reaching just above her neediest place. She hummed with excitement, hips bucking just slightly to encourage his movements.
With gentle movements, he parted her legs and dipped his fingers between. She jolted back some, sensitive to the touch as he ran his fingers over the sensitive bundle of nerves before finally slipping through her folds. He groaned; he couldn’t help it –she was wet and it was all for him. He pulled back from their kiss, and she whined.
“I want to taste you,” he managed to breath out, voice hoarse. 
She looked at him in confusion. “I don’t understand –,”
However, instead of telling her what he meant, Benedict decided it would be best to simply show her. He pressed a soft kiss to her pouting lips before descending down. He trailed his tongue over the skin of her throat, relishing in the goosebumps that appeared when he did so. She sucked in a breath when he left a bite at the base, and he grinned up at her before continuing his task down. She was getting antsy, he could tell, but he wanted to worship every inch of her in this moment.
His lips latched onto her nipple and she gasped in surprise, tensing up at the sensation of his tongue swirling around before sucking. When he deemed it enough, he moved onto the next one and repeated the action –this time earning a pleasurable moan of his name and a desperate plea from his wife. His fingers were still rubbing slow circles around her clit, pushing her closer to the edge but not letting her fall just yet. She would –but he wanted to taste it when she did.
Finally, as he kissed and licked his way down her body, he kissed just above her clit –then he looked up at her. She was shaking –not from fear, but from anticipation and over sensitivity –and watching him curiously. Keeping his eyes on her, Benedict pulled his fingers away from her core and replaced them with his tongue. She tried to close her legs, suddenly overwhelmed with feeling, but he kept them open as he buried himself in her. As she adjusted and realized just how amazing it felt, it did not take long for her to reach down and run her fingers through his hair. 
Her hips chased his mouth, trying to catch any moment of friction to push her over, but Benedict held her down with his arm. The hand in his hair started to pull, and he groaned into her, causing her to buck up into him once more. She was tensing up, building into her climax, and Benedict’s hips were rutting against the bed, desperate himself but he wanted her to come first.
The grip on his hair tightened, and she suddenly arched off the bed as Benedict sucked on her clit a little harder than before –and she finally cried out his name as she came. He did not pull away, however, but instead lapped at her folds, basking in every moment he had as her climax veered off and she slowly came down from the high of it all. As her body finally calmed down, her legs were left shaking and Benedict finally pulled away. He kissed her inner thighs, leaving wet kisses all over before he returned to his position over her on the bed.

For a moment, she tried to shy away as he held himself in his hand, looking her over. That wouldn’t do of course; he wanted to see her, and so he reached forward to pull her hands away. 
“I love you,” he promised, leaning over to rest his arms on either side of her. His smile covered his face, making his cheeks ache, as he looked down at her. “I love you, my beautiful, witty, talented wife.”
Meeting his eyes, she practically melted into a puddle of tears below him. “I love you too, Benedict. My wonderful, handsome husband —I love you more than words can even begin to describe.”
“To leave an author speechless —what a remarkable feat,” he teased, his smile turning into a boyish grin. 
She rolled her eyes, but reached up to touch his cheek gently. “Show me how much you love me, Mr. Bridgerton.”
“With absolute pleasure, Mrs. Bridgerton.”
