Oh Faaaaaaaayyyyyytttteee!!!!
I'm your "Know Thy Enemy"-Nonny and I'm so... SO sorry I didn't think of just using the ask inbox again!
I'm so grateful for those wonderful parts you wrote (not just one, but TWO!!!)
Villain and Hero are both so on POINT! Especially Villain...I literally want one for myself xD
They're so sweet together T~T
The whole date was so light-hearted and engaging, wholesome even, I can't wait to read what happens next!
I admire how you write dialogue and how you arrange the nonverbal character interactions in-between. Lovely!
Thank you so so much again for answering this ask in the first place and keep up your great work - I'll be observing from close by :D
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I wanna thank you for your hand in creating these two; they're so much fun.
Thank you for the kind words! >///< I really appreciate it!

hey! i've followed this blog for a long time and just wanted to say i'm happy to see you still posting now and then as it often feels like everyone has forgotten about it and the fandom has totally died, but i still love it and have been thinking a lot more about it lately since it's about to be the 4th anniversary of its release. if i might ask you a random question, what's your favorite thing about the movie?
Hi there! Yes I am still around since almost everyone left the fandom, but Onward will always have a special place in my heart.
My favorite thing would be when [SPOILER ALERT] Ian sacrificed his wish to see his father because Barley needs it more to repent his feelings to their father. Because technically Ian has everything that he was missing because his brother filled in the pieces. So I applaud the life lesson that we don’t need to look outside of ourselves to be fulfilled when we have everything we need right here.
Tumblr media
In addition, I absolutely adore that dorky, metal head Barley. A misunderstood character being himself, and he teaches even me to be myself more.
So I will still be around checking out the love for Onward and sharing it with the world (Tumblr).

I was writing hcs and before I knew it I was out of time lol So only a couple of replies today!
Anonymous asked:
I want to say that I love your art. There are some people who say your art isn’t good because of the ships you do, but I generally love your art, even if the shipping may be wrong in some way. The art style and how you draw the characters are so beautifully done. I admit I am a bit of a fan when I see some NSFW mentions. Lol. Please continue drawing, as I can’t wait to see your future projects.
Thank you for your kind words, Anon!
It does get annoying when people attack the way I draw, but getting messages like yours is very inspiring and always motivating. So I am very happy to hear that you like my drawings.
Honestly, I would love to draw more nsfw stuff lol I always feel like I draw a lot of this kind of stuff, but then look back and realise that the majority of things that we post is surprisingly innocent. That has to change! lol
Anonymous asked:
To the anon simping for skelly-boy:
You're not alone!!!  I'm really starting to adore this dork??  He's just? So cute?!  And dorky?!  And I'd love to listen to him talk as long as he wants?!
And I really shouldn't be surprised by antis at this point.  That explains why my feed went from all skelly to no skelly (I've luckily avoided seeing all the whining though, guess I've already blocked the majority of those people...)
Considering people had zero issue with the simping until his "age" dropped, it's almost like the number these pixels are programmed as has almost no meaning and isn't reflective of being attracted to younger people irl but antis want attention I spose...
and now I'm reminded of that anti who said Sebek was "very obviously 16!" (my dude, it's a pretty boy gacha, the only one who's "age" is obvious is Trein.  And if you take away his wrinkles he'd look like the others)
Anyway!  Cute skelly is apparently my type now (at this point Yana could draw an actual chair with a human face and I'd simp for it) so I too will simp in silence in solidarity with that other anon (if they're okay with my distant companionship of course).
And thank you Ryu for keeping us fed with the most gorgeous fanart I have ever seen!  I hope you and Katsu are taking enough breaks!
Yaaay more Anons simping for Skelly-boy!! Let’s all unite and keep simping lol
It really is very unfortunate just how many people instantly got uncomfortable not because of the age reveal itself, but because they instantly knew that they were about to get harassed over it. It’s so easy to look at the situation logically and realise what is actually going on, and how hypocritical it is (Sebek being «very obviously 16» is very funny…)
And it is unfortunate that you and the other Anon have to simp in silence. At least both of you now know that you aren’t alone, and please be sure, there are a lot of people like you, us included lol I sketched him once already but it’s on Ko-Fi for now, don’t know when I’m going to draw anything proper with him… We’re not going to be silent when we get there, though, hehe, if he turns out to be up our alley.
Thank you so much for your ask and thank you for enjoying our stuff. I am extremely happy that you find it gorgeous!! Always such a joy and honor to hear that. We’ll do our best not to overwork ourselves, so thank you for your concern <3

Who's your #1 favorite TMA character and why?
Oh god I love them all but I'm gonna have to say that Jonathan Sims has GRIPPED ME. That sad little man fills my thoughts constantly.
It's one of my biggest fears that if I'm ever even slightly unlikeable then I'll be unlovable but he's prickly and makes bad decisions and is hell bent on doing stuff on his own and yeah I'm also known to be a maker of bad decisions and not great with people and hugely stubborn and would rather die than ask for help so it's nice to see that when it comes to it, we're both loveable including those parts and not regardless.
He's also dorky and makes terrible jokes and is long suffering and literally same. I love this man.
It sounds weird to be like yeah eldritch antichrist is literally me but I think it's the writing as well that's made so many people just latch on to Jon cause he's just so human, everyone makes bad decisions and can be stubborn and prickly sometimes and so we all see parts of ourselves in all the characters really but especially Jon. He was put in a terrible situation and he reacted like any person would. Just like we do in our terrible situations.
I've got a soft spot for Martin as well because some of my favourite people are very much like him, they just give and give and I feel protective over him like I feel for them. I've also been Martin, just like we've all been him at points of our lives. Also like he's Martin he's amazing he makes tea and likes cows and writes shitty poetry and cares so much!! Who wouldn't like him?? (We also share some trauma so there's that as well lol)
I also really like Tim for sort of similar reasons. I can relate to his reaction to a horrible situation being This Is Unfair and making sure everyone knows that It is Not Right and It Sucks. Cause he's right to do so and it's an understandable reaction even if it's not the prettiest. And I fucking love ugly and realistic depictions of trauma and grief. He thinks he's the only sane one there, the only one willing to see the truth of the situation and that makes him miserable and I understand his rage. He's never properly processed any of his grief cause he's stuck in his rage and it's painfully understandable but also his downfall and I think that's the tragedy of his storyline. He's also a bomb ass bisexual manwhore whom I love dearly.
So yeah, I hope that answered your question!! Thanks for asking it!!

What's the best movie you've seen that involves a giant/tiny premise? Looking up a list of such movies made me find out that in Germany there's a full trilogy of this guy called Felix who shrinks his teacher in one, his parents in another, then his classmates in the third one, and damn Felix I can't help but thinking there's a common denominator here. Everyone in your life should be wary of you, Felix
LMAO I’ve heard of that one
uhhhhh I mean obviously child characters are a no go for me on here but I’m chiller w it in films, like Arrietty is obviously a gorgeous movie. I’d count Ponyo in that too. tiny Rick Moranis was great cause I’m into dorky guys like that but I was only like half watching honey we shrunk ourselves. MST3K has done a number of sizey flicks and I love those episodes I think they’re super fun. obviously the movies themselves are BAD. I can’t remember if I’ve ever gotten like hot and bothered over size diff in a movie tho

I'm gonna talk about shows in my brain right now, and if you have any thoughts, I would love to hear them! (Especially if you see these in a different way!)
(For context, these are shows I watched when I was young, and I'm just revisiting them in my mind, so I'm probs getting things wrong)
Okay, so-
Hey Arnold: We seek to understand each other and ourselves. By existing in community with one another, our lives will be richer. Be curious about the beauty in the world, and be brave! My only complaint is that Helga feels far too interesting to not be the main character. Also, the background art is so pretty!
Doug: I truly love the honesty in the character writing, the playful art direction, and the willingness to grapple with difficult emotions, often resolving in messy ways. When I was young, it depressed me to think I might be a Doug (in personality/character). Thought I am dorky, and I love daydreaming, like our titular character, it has delighted me to no end to find out that I'm just as much of a Judy (moreso, even)!
Recess: As a child, I felt filled with joy at the rebellious zest for life of this group of friends, and a fair bit jealous. As I look back, I am a bit depressed imagining a group of rebellious kids slowly stop their fight against "the system" and beginning to drift apart. I don't have any other thoughts here, and I carry both that sadness and that joy with me now, post-reflection. Idk, I just like grumpy buds.
The Muppets (Main show, Muppet Babies, Treasure Island, etc.): I mean, baller show. I really just want to talk about Gonzo (adult-me understands child-me's fascination with the character much better now), but I will refrain. I've decided to complain that Oscar the Grouch was not a member of the Muppets. The Muppets have plenty of great complainers, a few wise-guys, and at least one Monster, but they really could have used a Grouch.
Ahh! Real Monsters! (Not sure if this is the right spelling, but I'm not looking it up): We, as humans, would be so far ahead if everyone could have witnessed thus (joking, mostly). I love this show. I feel kinship, true fellowship, with just about every character in this disgustingly beautiful work of art. My tiny child brain really thought I might have a shot at living in the sewers and dumps as a monster, and that got me through so much, tbh.
Sorry for the many-words, I hope this letter finds you well.

Rebirth update 4
Sephiroth: "Cloud, don't let her fool you" Cloud: "This trustworthy fellow makes a good point!" For real though, I am having a lot of fun at the moment, a little behind on where I wanted to be though because I spent more hours that I feel comfortable to admit trying to get a perfect run in the Junon parade. Eventually settled for a full combo with 3 "goods" in there that honestly should have been perfect as well but who cares. I enjoy the minigames but as someone who wants to do everything perfect because of fear of missing out they do really slow me down, but that's a me problem I suppose. I am now no longer neutral with Aerith since the parade gained me points with both her and Tifa. I am really enjoying Queens Blade, although it is pretty simple, and the on-board competition was just fun. Nanaki in his uniform was everything I had hoped it to be and more. And Barret in his sailor uniform speaks for itself of course. I am still unhappy with the weapon upgrade system, which in my opinion isn't really a system at all, I just get a new weapon and I slot a few options in there same as materia, and forget about it. Especially since the folios also feel like a bit of a "we have a sphere grid at home" situation I feel like this could have been handled better. Where the game really shines are its characters imo. Cloud is a great mixture of cool and hidden dorkiness, and his chemistry with Tifa is amazing. Analyzing his little looks and throwaway sentences is fascinating, although I do feel like the solution to the "who is Cloud" twist is a lot easier to predict this time around. Barret is just perfectly done in general with his passion and lovable teddybearness. I hate escort quests so escorting a dog through dangerous territory to deliver some money, rather than doing it ourselves, was silly, but hearing Barret gush of Marlene made it worth it. And again, the chemistry with Cloud is perfect "Barret, get your shit together!". Redxiii is a lot more endearing than he was in the OG and Yuffie especially is a lot cuter and less annoying. Aerith is better in some regards and worse in others. She feels more human now than she did in remake, which is good. But she now feels naive to the point of childishness where I feel she's closer to Yuffie in maturity than to Tifa.
More importantly though, the bros from the 7th are the best characters now and my new family, and the commander is gorgeous, hope we see more of them. Loved seeing Andrea and Madam M again, some of my favorite new characters in the verse and its still hard to believe they weren't in the original. And I know I might be alone in this, but I love Kyrie as well. Always thought she had a great design, the first time I saw her in a remake trailer exiting the train I already noticed her in the background, and I just enjoy every scene with her. Still need to learn to make synergy abilities, with the exception of launching Tifa, a more standard part of my battle plan. And the lack of enough shortcut keys is becoming already more apparent as well. Especially since I am not allowed to determine what R1 shortcuts to. Anyway, I'm in Junon now, and really enjoying myself, time to go to work.

My Chemical Romance’s Reunion Perspective
Tumblr media
November 26, 2019
As a person who still hasn’t grown out of their emo phase, my perspective on My Chemical Romance’s (MCR to fans) reunion is one of relative rareness. I was eleven when my best friend really exposed me to the scene, before that I still loved Fall Out Boy (FOB) for “Thnks fr th mmrs” and Panic at the Disco! for “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” off of their 2005 album.
But being a little kid, I hadn’t experienced their albums or much of anything like that. If it wasn’t on the radio, I didn’t know it existed.
My BFF’s emo band of choice? MCR. She sent me links to MCR albums on YouTube and it became a great pastime of ours to discuss and debate them. Her favorite album was “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge,” she practically lived in her t-shirt with the album logo in spite of it attracting taunts.
My favorite was (and still is) “Danger Days” for it’s bright and colorful fun sound almost hiding it’s anti-capitalist and anti-war themes. We would make fan fiction featuring ourselves as KillJoy characters. Exceptionally dorky, I know. But hey, we’re both great writers and it was fun.
Tumblr media
In those early days of my participation in the MCR fandom life was great. She and I went from friends to best friends. We were having so much fun from this common interest.
Songs from “Conventional Weapons,” a project that was scrapped with tracks that had never been heard were being released to the public! Everything looked like it was only going up!
Everything changed on March 22, 2013. I remember her calling me, weeping. At first, I thought it was a joke. It obviously wasn’t. To say we were a wreck was an understatement. Here was a band that had given us everything, eloquent ways for us to express our sadness, and identity, and poof, it was just gone.
A year later we got the greatest hits completion, “May Death Never Stop You.” It was a small spark that kept die-hard fans hopeful that a reunion could happen. Conspiracy theories floated around for the next six years..
Things like, “Danger Days” takes place in 2019, MCR might return then! Gerard said they wanted to be like Smashing Pumpkins, who took a six-year break. And the absolute best, the band could avoid becoming a teenager (song reference) by taking a break on their 12th year and returning on their 19th. The shocking thing is, that as laughed at as these theories were, they were true!
The fandom was burnt before. Back in 2016, Warner Music decided to post a teaser of MCRX, I lost my mind thinking it was a reunion. We all, us fans, went crazy. Once we found out that MCRX was nothing but a hits album, oh boy, Warner Music must’ve had thousands of hate messages.
But I wouldn’t trade this pain for anything else in the world. Some of my greatest internet friends came from the fandom. The lack of official content forced fans to become creative. If you need me, I’ll be throwing on eyeliner and joining The Black Parade once again.

A whole essay could be written about names in What we do in the shadows and how well they describe each character but to get to the point:
Nandor attaching The Relentless to his name, even if it’s a title he had as a human, is him being trapped in the past and the impossibilty of enjoying his existence as a vampire or as a being with emotions and not only a tyrant.
Nadja underlining that she’s from Antipaxos is her being proud of her origins and reclaiming her poverty as a sign of strength on how she can succeeds and make a name for herself but also makes her hotheaded and hides a thinly veiled insecurity.
Laszlo is a chosen name but Cravensworth is his father’s, he can never escape his family’s baggage but at the same time he uses to his advantage with what it has taught him, the privileges that come from his background, he’s also the one that has a name and a surname, integrates the best in the modern world and enjoys it the most.
My point is of course we know de la Cruz is an important surname that links Guillermo to both his Van Helsing and mexican heritage but what I’m interested in is how people use his name: to Laszlo, Nadja and sometimes Colin he’s Gizmo (a familiar at first and a friend now), to his family he’s Memo the dorky baby of the family, to his boyfriend he’s Gigi (a nickname used in 2x1 “it’s better than Gizmo” but not as good as Guillermo).
The only person that never NEVER uses a nickname is Nandor a line I really like in 2x10 is when Nandor can’t find him he looks at the camera and says “It’s Guillermo” after describing how he’s surprisingly sneaky, acts like a kid and likes to test his patience because it feels so affectionate, he doesn’t want Guillermo to be any other way and it’s important that they all get introduced to another part of Guillermo that same episode “de la Cruz” and how Nandor from then on tries to get it right to get to know that part of him, even the pronunciation, I know we make fun of ourselves for having ground level standards with Nandermo but the significance of Nandor doing his best to acknowledge that part of him and include it everytime he asks something of great importance is just so meaningful to me.
And also why my favorite line of the all the “love of my life” spiel is “I may not remember my beloved’s name” right after Nandor gets beaten by one of his wives (the same thing that happened right before he proposed to Guillermo) because it starts with the opposite of what Guillermo is and highlights that whoever gets chosen at the end won’t be anywhere near the right person and seeing how badly that ended reinforces how both Nandor and Guillermo function as characters.

I think there is some Meta that can be taken from 180 Degree Longitute Passes Through Us, an extrapolation of the very personal story of In and Wang.
There is a certian trauma for us Queers of a certain age who had to grow up and live our lives and make choices based on scripts written for us by deeply homophobic societies. Now, in a world that has changed so drastically but that still clings to the vestiges of its homophobia it feels like we have to confront those choices, the things we did to just survive.
Some of us didn't survive (Siam), and some of us made choices that hurt those around us (In). And some chose to remain blind and cling to harmful institutions that leave us stunted (Mol).
Wang's anger at these systems feels so righteous and powerful, as does his absolution. He represents the generation that comes after the shackles have been loosened, as the healing can now begin and we can connect to the parts of ourselves we may have hidden from for decades out of grief and shame and fear.

Livewatch Thoughts: Kei x Yaku
Episode 1
This show is doing exactly what I need it to do right off the bat (thank you @dangermousie but also why did I let you tempt me into a live airing show with only one episode out!?!??)
Tumblr media
First off we start with sickly sweet couply nonsense and then devolve right into the **MurDer**
Con, right off the bat is yes, we are gonna fridge a girl to get some man angst and motivation. Its going to be the premise of the show. Perfectly fine if that isn’t your thing (it’s an annoyance in my book) so warning in advance - and the fridging is violent and shown pretty early on and repeatedly.
Pro is that the character work going on is exquisite. Shiro is a young Yakuza boss shown in bed with another man. Everything about him screams danger and he weilds a sultry sexuality like a weapon, always calculating. Ichiro is an undercover cop tasked with getting close to him - but also desperate to solve the case of the missing girl - his mentor on the force.
The air between the two positively crackles with intensity and it is so. very. very. gay.

My #1 post of 2022
The bagel and the googly eye are two major symbols of this film. Not only is it a surprisingly apt and humorous take on yin and yang, but in the same stroke it explores concepts central to Buddhist philosophy. To boil down more than 2,000 years of Buddhist discourse – it is thought that all things exist only through our perception of said things. Therefore, they are without inherent meaning. They’re empty.
...
Through the googly-eyed lens, we gain the power to control our infinite emptiness. Waymond (Ke Huy Quan), the dorky husband of Evelyn (Michelle Yeoh), reminds her through simple kindness that there is value where you want to create it and meaning where you choose to see it. In Buddhist thought, it’s our compassion that grounds us – makes us human – and emptiness isn’t the mark of nihilism and despair but an opportunity to leave behind the bad and cherish the good.

its 5pm that means its time for me to sit here and contemplate the fact that like thousands of people have read my writing and liked it enough to let me know in some way and also some of them talk to each other about it in real life without me being directly involved like huh. like that one ask i got a while back about someone talking about my fics with their bff like HUH.
that means i have contributed joy to this world. like that’s a real thing i have done in a very small yet individually meaningful way and thinking about that is so?? wild?? i give people the same kind of happiness that i’ve been given every time i see some dope ass fanart or some adorable or well-written fic/book or yell about beloved book characters with my friend. each of us have some kind of a skill and passion that can undoubtably bring something good into this world, no matter how much we doubt our or our creations’ abilities, and literally all we have to do is put ourselves out there a little bit. its not even that fanfiction in itself is particularly meaningful or special its that creation is meaningful and special and community is meaningful and special and feeling like we’re not alone in this world is meaningful and special. and it may seem dorky or “not that deep” but that’s what fanart and fanfiction is - its using our joy of things to create, to reach out to others and form friendships and out silly little mutual connections that can mean so much to someone in dark times; its fuel for real-life connections and its proof that other people exist and care and do the little things that bring them joy that bring you joy. it doesn’t matter if its the fiftieth time you’ve read a story about two anime characters falling in love or its just the bit of inspiration you feel when you see a post of your favorite book character drawn really well, that’s still a net positive impact on the world!! i guess what i’m trying to say here is that somewhere out there in the world there are two people that are friends and they talk about something i created and it helps them pass the time; or there is someone out there that’s just been having a really rough day and they use something i once posted on a whim to make them smile. and that is so fucking rad.

Well it's officially been 15 hours since I began realizing that my hopes were about to be crushed, and my fears would become reality.
I stepped away from Supernatural earlier in season 15 because I knew the only ending to this show would be death for at least one brother. I knew that for my mental health I needed a break, or to step away entirely, from Tumblr and from the show. It was consuming me, and I was letting it.
I didn't think Destiel would ever happen. I had made my peace with that, and I left the show during a time where not a lot of drama was happening. It worked, and I was able to continue loving Destiel through fan fiction, and occasional moments that I would later on see on Tumblr.
Then 15x18 happened. And the whole world exploded in rainbows and black goo. And I said to myself, "Well if they're going to let THIS happen, then it might soften the blow of seeing one of my boys die a perma death."
It did not.
Supernatural, I cried myself to sleep last night. And I'm crying again writing this post, because you took my hope, gave me a HEARTBREAKING death scene, and then NOTHING to tape my heart back up again.
To Jared & Jensen - you performed the most emotional scene I have seen in an incredibly long time. And I applaud you for it. I'm mad at how it went down, but I give you credit for making me feel feelings.
To Misha - you deserved better than to be an extra they had to cut due to covid. I'm devastated for you.
To the Supernatural fandom - I don't know what I'll do without you guys now. I truly cannot grasp the reality that I'll never be able to analyze another gif set, or image of Dean's bedroom, or wonder if Sammy is going to get hit in the head again. I'll never see green and blue the same. I'll never be able to listen to Carry On My Wayward Son the same, if at all. I'll never hear the words "you changed me" again without wanting to punch something.
To the friends, and mutuals I was interacting with and had to step away from - I'm truly sorry that we have been so misled by the story. I've enjoyed the last two weeks immensely, and can't put into words how much I will miss this. (Alphabetically tagging a few specifics that have been either on my mind or in my notifications recently, but there are SO many of you that I will miss dearly.) @amyoatmeal @dean-is-bi-till-i-die @emblue-sparks @legendary-destiel @madimoo31 @mmangoss @mrsaquaman187 @savannadarkbaby @savemecastiel @shippsblog @spn-bitchh @spnjohnlocked @verobatto-angelxhunter @weird-dorky-little-d
Each and every one of you has made this experience so meaningful. You asked what about all this was real? What the point was? We are.
To the writers - I have no words. I know you did what you thought would be a great ending, and maybe I'll look back in another 15 years and be at peace with it.. there were some good moments, but for me I will always remember what was missing.
I understand now. You were the Empty and WE were Castiel. The moment we let ourselves be happy, you came for us. The moment we FORGOT and let the sun shine on our faces, you brought us to nothing. And then left us to burn with our regrets.
I suppose I should thank you for letting me see Sam shirtless one last time, but then you destroyed that with a stupid wig too. I should thank you for the fact that Cas was in heaven and was able to fix it with Jack, and spend eternity as TFW after all, but we didn't even get more than an eyebrow raise and half a smile. You couldn't have used his voice in this episode instead of 15x19? Now I'm mad about Lucifer again. I will never be over the fact that you thought we'd want to see him again, instead of literally any other character.
I'm ENRAGED. That you took my Sammy, and all his character growth, and leadership development, and said "the only peace for him is if everyone he loves is taken from him and is left with only one path in life, and that's the apple pie life where he can grow old and have a kid" WHAT.
I might add more later, I don't know. Right now I am sick with grief over this finale. I know I can't look at it objectively, I know a lot of people out there did enjoy it. I am not one of those people. And I knew better.

We honestly care about the characters that make up this dorky ass game that we watch live every Thursday & countless times throughout the week. Why? Because they are relatable as fuck. We can all see ourselves in at least one or maybe more of these imaginary characters who are played so brilliantly by genius actors. We sit around & hang on every word that comes out of Matt’s mouth as he sets the scene, for better or worse. We laugh out loud at Jester’s antics & Veth’s trolling. Grimace at Beau & Yasha’s awkwardness. And revel in the awesomeness that is Caduceus’ mind. We want them to succeed in their adventures, all alive & intact to fight another day. To have them fall in love & be happy or just get the closure that they so desperately search for. We love them to the point that, even though they are not real, we feel it. We become so invested in them that we feel their anxiety, we pick up on their emotions (good or bad), & it consumes us to no end. We speculate & build theories on conjecture because we want to believe that no matter what, nothing bad will happen & they will make it out of this. Intact. Some focus on a date that might not happen, feeling without it, the relationship will crumble. The reality is, the date is a formality. These two would still be in love without it. Others focus on a cult of Nine Eyes that is trying to worm it’s way into two brilliant minds & disrupt the dynamic. Could all of this just be a smokescreen that will dissipate after Lucien is gone? We collectively hold our breaths waiting to see what will happen, because we genuinely do not know. Part of the reason we love this show & these people is their ability to make us believe in everything that is happening. AND WE LOVE EVERY HEART WRENCHING MINUTE OF IT!
Who would have thought a game with a bunch of nerdy ass voice actors who sit around & play Dungeons & Dragons would have such a profound impact on the world.

Part of the family
Idk what Ecto’s birth name is so I’m going to have his parents/other characters refer to Ecto as Ekuto. It translates to ecto in Japanese, real creative but I’ll use it as his birth name till we get a cannon one confirmed
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Higari scratched at the collar of his shirt, and then tugged uncomfortably at the waist of his trousers
“I’m really not used to wearing this monkey suit..” he said mostly to himself, looking down at his blazer he’d dusted off from his cupboard. Higari only owned one formal suit, and only ever wore it on rare occasions. Even after spending so many years teaching at UA and attending so many events or interviews, he’d never gotten used to all this fancy shmancy stuff.
“Well you look very handsome in one~” Ecto stood near by in the hotel room comparing bow ties, one hand on his hip and other on his chin. He too was also in a suit, the two both dressed up for a night out at a formal party event. The two had been invited as guests to a charity event by Ecto’s parents, who where two key supports of said event. Really they where attending as undercover security, so obviously they had to fit the part
Higari peered over to his husband, gave him a cheeky glance up and down before walking over. “You don’t look half bad yourself” he said with a lazed smirk, hand snaking it’s way over and around Ecto’s hips. Ecto hummed again him, raising one brow before he lifted up a red bow. “Hm..how about this one?” He asked
Higari shrugged “You know suits better then me, not like I got any clue which bow goes with what dress shirt”
“Oh stop it” Ectoplasm said, kneeling down to help tie the bow in place. With Higari’s altered finger tips it made things like tying bows all the more challenging, thankfully Ecto was skilled in the art and had the bow on Higari in a matter of seconds “You look wonderful!” he straightened out his blazer, and for good measure, nuzzled his nose on Higari’s forehead in the form of a kiss “Besides, it’s only for a few hours. When we get back you can change into something more comfortable”
“Or waddle around naked” Higari suggested, waiting eagerly to see Ecto’s reaction. Knowing it was oh so easy to get Ecto flustered
Ecto hummed, as if pretending to think it over, managing to remain calm before the corner of his mouth crinkled up into a smile “Hm..maybe~” Higari’s trade mark grin spread across his face with a giggle. Ecto tried to keep cool even if the face of his husbands adorable little laugh “But lets save that for after the party. I don’t want you causing mischief”
Higari hummed, humoured, sensing a challenge. Expertly he sauntered his way over and looped his arms around Ecto from behind, pressing his face into the small of Ecto’s back “Hm, are you calling me a bad boy?~”
Ecto turned as best he could to peer down at Higari, his brow cocked in amusement at his antics, struggling to keep a neutral tone despite how flustered he was actually feeling from Higari’s flirting - the sneaky mink “I won’t hesitate to put you in your place if that’s what you’re implying”
Ecto could tell Higari had one of those smiles on his face, but before Higari could say anymore Ecto pried his arms off him. Higari let out a small whine, disappointed the fun was over “However, we do have a charity event to get to” he said while releasing Higari’s hands, pulling on his blazer that he hung on the chair. Higari crossed his arms, hiding a pout behind his fringe “Mn, yeah I guess so..”
“Don’t whine” Ecto said, mocking a tone a mother would use with a child. “..It won’t be that bad” he reassured while looking himself over in the small mirror by the cupboard “They’ll be food and drinks, and all we have to do is mingle and be prepared if something calls for us to step in”
“Mm, yeah I guess” Higari said
He joined Ecto over at the door before the two walked out together into the hall. Higari had been to a few arguably fancy events, the fanciest it ever got at UA where interviews with the press outside UA grounds, or the UA prom for the third years, that was about it. Don’t get him wrong, Higari still preferred a pair of joggers to a suit and bow, but alas he’d signed up for this when he became a teacher at UA. As much as he didn’t like formal events, too crowded for his liking, they had to set a good example for UA
And going to a formal event with Ecto made it bearable.
Upon arriving at the venue the first thing he noticed was how bright everything was, didn’t help his sensitive eye sight. He tried to not let it bother him as he and Ecto stepped out of their car and made their way inside to a large main room where all the guests where gathered. Thank god Ecto was tall, at the very least he could navigate this maze, Higari couldn’t see over the top of all the other guests even if he tried! After checking in with the rest of the security and into the main hall Ecto grabbed for Higari’s hand
“Lets go and wait over at the side” Ecto said, already making his way through the crowd with Higari on his tail towards the side of the room, where the two where somehow able to find an unoccupied table in the sea of people. “Didn’t think it’d be this busy” Higari said while observing the room, he couldn’t help but feel a little weird - being in such a decorated room with all these fancy rich people.
“Me too” Ecto said, returning to the table with two wine glasses. “Regardless, we should try and enjoy ourselves” he handed Higari a glass, which he accepted with a small nod of thanks. He swigged it down in a swift gulp, Ecto blinked, taken a back. “Careful there..” he teased, drinking lightly from his own glass. “Sorry Ecto” Higari said, placing his glass back down onto the table “Big events like this always make me nervous..” he admitted, if it was anyone else other then Ecto he wouldn’t have shared such a personal fear
“It’s alright, just remember it’s only for a few hours. And if nothing goes wrong we may be allowed to leave early”
Higari hummed in reply, one hand tapping on the table while he idly glanced about the room, trying to see if their was anything else in here other then a crowd of bustling people. With his hair brushed aside it made seeing things a bit more easier, which is why it didn’t take him long to recognise an approaching face in the crowd.
“Angel!” Mrs. Kurōn, Ecto’s mother, happily emerged from the crowd and rushed over as quickly as she could towards the table, Ecto already standing from his chair to greet her. “Oh I’m so happy you two could make it!” She said, greeting Ecto with a quick hug before she looked to Higari “It’s so nice to see some familiar family faces! - and Higari, it’s lovely to see you could make it too dear!”
“Evening Mrs. Kurōn” Higari said, waving his hand. Despite having already met Ecto’s parents he was still a little shy around them, maybe it was added nervousness of the fancy party making him feel particular shy, he wasn’t sure.
“Where’s dad?” Ecto asked, looking around to try and identify his other parent “I haven’t see him yet, he’s not with you?”
“Your father is catching up with some old work colleagues” Mrs. Kurōn answered while she straighten out Ecto’s tie, smiling at the dorky spotty pattern he’d chosen. “I doubt he’ll be too long” she said “He’s a social butterfly, I’m sure you’ll bump into him at some point - you remember Mister Zeikin?”
Ecto thought for a moment before his eyes widened with realisation “Yes I remember, didnt dad say he was one of his old team members before you and him married? He came round for dinner a few times”
His mother nodded “Yes he was, he’s the one who helped organise the decorating for this event. Oh! And you remember Megumi? She’s here too!”
“Megumi?..” Ecto repeated, thinking once again before he smiled “I haven’t seen her since..god it must have been at our prom party at UA” he said, my how time flied. Higari looked to and from between them, not understanding who they where talking about but obviously seeing that Ecto must have clearly known of them “Seems like centuries ago doesn’t it? I still have those prom photos laying about somewhere at home” Mrs. Kurōn suddenly gasped, and put a hand on Ecto’s shoulder “Why don’t we go over and see them? You two where good friends back at UA, I’m sure she’d be very surprised to see you again!”
“Hm..well, mum-“ Ecto looked back towards Higari, who sensing Ecto’s worries raised his hand “Don’t worry about me, you can leave me alone for ten minutes” Higari smiled and gestured away “Go mingle, tell Mr. Kurōn I said hi”
“Are you sure?” Ecto repeated, clearly not convinced. “You could always come with us” Higari again simply repeated his gesture “I’ll be fine! I’m a grown man, don’t worry. Sides-“ he shrugged “I don’t her, I wouldn’t know what to say. I’d just be awkward”
“Hm..” Ecto threw a glance over his shoulder to the crowd and then to his mother, who smiled wider. He hummed again “..Well” his worry melted away, a relieved smile coming to his face “Alright then!” He turned around, his mother leading the way “I won’t be long!” He called to Higari just as they got swept up into the crowd. Higari waved goodbye until Ecto and Mrs. Kurōn was out of sight, guess it was just him now.
Thirty minutes passed, and Higari restrained himself from glancing down to his watch again.
“Hm..Ecto’s been gone a while” he said to the empty table, one hand holding his face while the other fiddled with the salad fork. Busying himself with tinkering away at one of his inventions was off the table with the current location he was in, he figured it wouldn’t be very ‘proper’ of him to suddenly start rebuilding a toaster in front of all these guests. Not like he needed to give them a reason to stare. “Maybe I’ll see what there is to eat” he suggested, sliding off his chair as he tried to locate the food table.
These kinds of parties always had the weirdest foods, and always in such small servings, Higari could never wrap his head around it. He’d hoped there’d be something at this food table that would satisfy his hunger until they could back to the hotel room, where he’d already decided he’d order the most greasiest take out junk food if this party food ended up being like all the rest. Reaching the table he was glad he kept his expectations low, as expected all the food was tiny, bowls of expertly prepared salads, a board full to the brim with cheeses, beautiful made sushi pieces, rice cakes - nothing he hadn’t seen before at fancy events.
Thinking it was better then nothing he picked up a plate and two rice cakes “Guess this’ll do” he muttered, and tried to make his way back towards his table...key word being try. Trying to navigate his way back from point B to A was harder then he thought, finding a needle in a hay stack seemed easier then this! With a snort he gave up on his mission, and instead made himself comfy on one of the balconies overlooking the venues garden, which was also lighted and decorated appropriately to match with the main hall.
He picked up a rice cake and munched into it, blinking slowly - god this was boring. At this rate he was starting to wish something would happen that required security to step in, at least that would give him something to do..
“Excuse me?”
Higari hummed, mouth full of rice cake as he turned to the owner of a voice. A fairly sizeable man stood at the entrance back inside the building, his shirt looked just a bit too tight over the skin of his stomach, his eyes looked at Higari with a somewhat studying look. It made Higari feel fidgety. He quickly swallowed his mouthful, trying to discreetly wipe his mouth to get rid of any rice that stuck onto his face “Uh, did you need something?” He asked, turning back up to the man who approached with a hum
“By chance are you..Higari?”
Higari rose a suspicious brow under his hair but tried to keep his suspicion hidden “Yes” he answered. The man stood next to Higari with a look he couldn’t place his finger on, there was something about it he didn’t like. It made a sickly familiar feeling of worry present inside him. His lips where pulled back into a smile, at least, Higari thought it was a smile - despite how it gave him the unfortunate impression that it was forced “Hm, my I didn’t think I’d get to see the man himself..” the man peered down at Higari for a long moment, as though he was a specimen under a microscope, it made Higari shudder
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think I know you..”
“I’m Mister Zeikin” the man seemed to puff out his chest, as if to symbolise his importance or his name was a grand title. Zeikin? That name sounded familiar “Hm..Oh yeah” Higari nodded lightly “Ecto’s m-Uh..Mrs Kurōn told me you where talking with her husband” the man nodded, turning his gaze to the horizon, one hand lightly swirling the wine in his glass. “Hm yes yes, my dear friend Akarui, known to you as Mr Kurōn, mentioned you when his wife and son came over.” He took an unhurried sip of his drink, eyes admiring his glass once he was finished “And I just had to see if his words held true”
Higari still didn’t understand, but the man was soon turning back to look at him before he could remain confused for much longer “Well done, Higari. You truly are a fascinating man” he praised warmly “So very charming from what I hear of, and sweeping Ekuto off his feet. Lucky him indeed”
Higari felt surprisingly flattered at the praise, growing sheepish at this flood of compliments. He awkwardly rubbed at his neck, smiling regardless “...Well, thank you.”
“But of course!” Zeikin pressed “Its astonishingly brave that you can be so open with displaying such affections..” His gaze slowly returned to Higari, his eyes lingering on him, a glint in his eye. “...Well, all things considered”
Higari bristled, though the man was still smiling, Higari felt attacked at the way he’d worded his sentence. His eyes narrowed “..Whats that supposed to mean?” He asked, leaning his head back to peer up at him.
Zeikin took another slow sip from his drink, smooth and slow as though Higari’s suspicion wasn’t noticeable. He had an air of confidence around him, as he turned back down to Higari “My fine fellow I mean no ill will. I’m sure you are a very...adorable lover” he offered politely “I just can’t help but think about the insecurities that come with the role”
“...Insecurities??” Higari blinked, his cheeks heating up “Theres nothing about our relationship that-“
“You’re from country aren’t you?” That cursed smile finally dropped, his tone all of a sudden flat “It leads a man to wonder just how it is Akarui’s son ever settled for..” Higari didn’t like the look he was giving him, regarding him with the same interest someone may give a piece of gum on the sidewalk “..someone so inferior”
“I...” Higari tried to bite back his temper, he’d hate himself if he lost his temper at an event that was so important to Ecto’s parents. He’d never forgive himself. He tried to take a calming breath, tried to think of happy things, but his insecurities - insecurities this man had targeted - they began to mock him, making his anger rise more. “That’s not any of your business sir” Higari tried to say without growling
“Ah, but it is” the man insisted with detached happiness, as though he was talking with a child. Higari stiffened “You see, Akarui and his family are dearly close to me, despite his.. imbecility” he casted a side ways scowl off into the distance “I would simply hate for something to taint their families image. Wouldn’t you agree?” He looked back down to Higari, who remained frozen, not seeming able to move, his legs not responding to his mind telling him to just walk away. Turn around and walk away! But he couldn’t, he felt offended, how dare he even think Ecto would view him that way!
Ecto would never!...r-right?..
“Ecto would never think of me that way” Higari was now furious, and it was becoming increasingly hard to keep his cool
“Oh well of course he wouldn’t” Zeikin held up his hand, trying to appear passive, and fixing Higari with a look that dropped with artificial sympathy “The dear Kurōn family are far too polite to ever show such disbain openly.”
“...I don’t know what you’re talkin’ about” Higari managed to conjure words despite still being paralysed, face hot, eyes shiny. “They wouldn’t-..” he corrected himself “Don’t think of me that way”
“Hm, perhaps” Zeikin nodded, peering skyward, not meeting Higari’s eyes. “Perhaps I am wrong, perhaps my years of knowledge through being their work colleague and associate do not mean a thing at all to you, perhaps the idea they may look at you differently is so foreign to you. You play the role very well, I commend you!” He gestured towards Higari with a titled head “Dressing up in that fancy suit, attending a formal gathering such as this, all for an attempt to fit in with a crowd not meant to house someone of your background. Yet, you try anyway. How very brave of you”
Higari’s throat suddenly felt tight, eyes stinging as tears swelled in the corners “Are you...mocking me?” His voice was shaky, something fragile behind the front he tried to put up.
“Heavens no” he looked offended at Higari’s weak question, scoffing “Conformity happens with everyone, I just find...amusement in your particular case.” He smiled, teeth an all, eyes narrowed cruelly at Higari, who looked timid. “To think you ever thought someone like you would ever be accepted.”
Higari stumbled back a foot, breathing going funny as he desperately tried to think of a response-
“I do hope we aren’t interrupting anything important.”
Higari startled, almost falling over his own feet. Behind him, standing less then three feet away was Akarui, Ectoplasms father. Brows creased like gathering thunder heads, mouth pressed into a thin frown with his arms crossed, not looking impressed. Behind him just off of the balcony, just looking to have caught up, was Ecto and Mrs Kurōn. At the sight of Ecto Higari flinched, curling up and looking away. Akarui’s look softened, concerned, before he fixed the business man across from his with a withering glare.
“I do hope you have a good explanation for this, Zeikin.” His eyes narrowed “For your sake.”
The man looked to do a double take, blinking “Ah, Akarui” his calm facade still held, but it was obvious the man standing behind Higari was not falling for it, cocking a bold brow. “So..wonderful you could join us” he smiled, walking closer. Akarui stepped forward without hesitation to shield Higari from view with his taller stature. Higari glanced up to him in confusion, blinking back tears
“We where simply having a talk amongst men” He assured, but Akarui’s frown only deepened. “It didn’t soundthat way” he stated, not subtly at all. Zeikin looked to him as though he’d been slapped, as Ecto and Mrs Kurōn hurried their way over.
“Higari? Are you okay?” Ecto asked, crouching down slightly to be at eye level with Higari, sensing almost instantly that something was wrong. Higari flinched away when Ecto reached for him, and he felt guilty immediately after. “Higari?..” Ecto said quietly, his hand lowering
Zeikin offered his colleague a grin, one that looked too wide “Whatever are you talking about Akarui?” He glanced down to Higari who Akarui stood in front of, he shot Zeikin a warning glare while Higari tried to hide himself from the mans sight. “It was but a simple conversation, a time for me to air some..thoughts on your..” Zeikin looked to be struggling to find the right words, everyone’s eyes (minus Higari’s) all on him.
“..new acquaintance-“
Slap
Akarui slapped away the others hand that was gesturing to Higari, eyes boring into him with a look that could kill. Zeikin baffled, pulling his hand back to him while fixing Akarui with a scowl. “I will have you know, that acquaintance you are referring to, has a name.” Zeikin opened his mouth to repomand Akarui for daring to hithim, but Akarui beat him to the punch, not giving him time to find his words.
“And he, Higari, happens to be my sons romantic other, and my son in law” he said sternly, loosing patience, what little of it had left for the fat cat before him.
Zeikin looked caught off guard, not expecting that kind of powerful reply from his work partner. He rose an unimpressed brow, fixing him with an equally icy look, Akarui failed to cower even as Zeikin took a step closer. “How very noble of you Akarui. Always playing the role of hero infront of your son aren’t you” he whispered, Akarui growled, a warning. “Can’t help but want to defend those who feel..out of place-“
Ecto had heard clearly what had been said, his mother gasping quietly. Ecto sneered, and leapt to speak-
“Perhaps I am not making myself clear enough.” Akarui stated calmly, closing his eyes “Allow me to say this once. Nicely.”
White, powerful light suddenly burst from Akauri’s eyes, like the birth of a new star. His eyes glowed hot with the heat of the sun, the light pouring from his eyes startling Zeikin, his own scared reflection staring back at him from Akauri’s empty white eyes. “My sons happiness, means everything to me and my wife. If you ever dare to try and intervene with that again, or try to approach Higari again..” he narrowed his eyes, his eyes glowing brighter, making him appear imposing, powerful. Eventually, Zeikin looked away, accepting defeat “You will be answering to me.”
Akarui blinked, and the light vanished, his cold merciless glare remaining as he fixed Zeikin with another deep frown “Do I make myself clear?”
“....Crystal.”
“Good” Akarui said, his tone to the point. “...I think it’d be better if you took your leave Zeikin” Akarui stepped aside and tilted his head over towards the entrance back inside the building.
Zeikin looked stuck, refusing to admit his loss, he straightened his tie and stood up straight - pretending as though his scare mere minutes ago hadn’t happened “Hm..Yes, maybe I will.” He dusted off his arm, acting aloof “Company in the main hall will be far better then wi-“
“No” Mrs Kurōn, who had remained quite until now fixed the man with her own scowl, Ecto doing the same with his arms wrapped around Higari. “We think you should leave” she repeated. Even Higari was taken aback by her sudden shift in tone, not knowing the gentle women could be capable of sounding angry. Zeikin gawked, working his jaw and looking rapidly between the two, waiting for one of them to admit it was a joke.
“...Hurry along” Akarui said, tilting his head again towards the building, not flinching even as Zeikin got dangerously close to his face to glare at him. Akarui remained standing where he was, before Zeikin, with a small snort, hurried off back inside and out of sight
Akarui let out a breath, shoulders slumping.
“Higari are you okay?” Ecto’s hands cupped Higari’s cheeks, noticing how his eyes looked teary, his worry grew ten fold at the sight as his heart plummeted at seeing him so sad “He didn’t try anything did he?” Ecto shook his head “I shouldn’t have left you alone!..”
“N-No no!” Higari waved his hands, taking Ecto’s hands away from his face as he tried to desperately rid the tears that where close to pouring down his cheeks. “I’m- I-I’m fine, he just..don’t worry about it” Ecto didn’t look convinced, nor did his mother, who’s eyes widened when she caught sight of a single tear falling down his face. “Oh honey..” she quickly pulled a tissue out of her small bag and held it out to him, just as Higari sniffled, the dams beginning to break.
“Come on” Ecto gently held Higari’s hand, the feeling of something familiar, something tender and soft helped calm his racing heart beat. He accepted the tissue, drying his eyes, overcome with embarrassment at being seen crying of all things - he’d only ever cried in front of Ecto and his family back in the country. “Let’s head back inside” Ecto stood and began to guide Higari back towards the building “No point in staying out in the cold”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An hour had passed, Higari was now a little calmer.
He currently sat in the buildings parking lot, having some air, he needed to have a moment to himself to calm down and gather his thoughts. He felt ashamed, feeling to need to walk out of the party to properly calm down. Ecto and his mother had both been understanding aside from their worry, offering to come and keep him company - which he’d politely declined.
And though quite it was around him in the car park, his mind was screaming.
The mans words refused to leave him, and he hated it. He hated how right he was! he hated how out of place he felt just being near a place so fancy and posh, he hated how that small self conscious part of him constantly felt the need to prove his worth when around Ecto’s family, to prove he was more then just some..grungy looking engineer
“Higari?”
Higari pulled his head from his hands and peered up to the side “..Mister Kurōn?” Mr Kurōn walked over to him but kept some space between them for Higari’s sake “I’m sorry, would you mind if I had a word?” He asked, pointing to the space on the edge of the pathway Higari was sitting on. Higari blinked “Uh, sure?” He said
Smiling Mr Kurōn took a place on the floor next to him, arms propped up behind him as he peered up into the sky, as if looking for stars. Higari gave him a sideways glance, before slowly looking away, tensing up, he really hoped he hadn’t come to talk about what had happened
“...How..” Higari nervously cracked his fingers, an old habit he’d developed since he was at UA. He didn’t want to talk about what had happened, but there was one thing he wanted to know “...How much did you hear?..”
“...Enough..”
Higari chewed his gum, all of sudden very interested in the floor as he avoided making eye contact with the older man.
“Higari?” Mr Kurōn was the first to break the silence, finally turning to Higari “May I ask you a..personal question?” He asked, watching Higari’s reaction carefully to make sure he didn’t step on a nerve. Higari turned to him, raising a brow “...Okay?” He said, slightly unsure
Mr Kurōn hummed, looking away again “...I don’t think there’s any way I can put this lightly” he admitted, Higari felt nervous at that. Mr Kurōn turned back to Higari and narrowed his eyes just a tiny bit, trying to read Higari as though he was a book. Higari felt his shoulders tense, after what had happened he’d been put off curious or studying gazes, and probably would be put of them for a while-
“Are you scared of me?”
Higari’s brain buffered, not quite understanding the question at first. Mr Kurōn said nothing, not removing his eyes from Higari as he waited for an answer. “.....Uh, well-“ Higari scratched at his neck “I don’t think- I...I wouldn’t say scared..” Higari admitted quietly, hand moving to tug at some strands of hair “I just..Uh..Well, I wanna make sure I don’t..” Higari’s tone became close to a mumble, yet Mr Kurōn continued to be patient “I just...really don’t want you two to be disappointed, I guess. I mean-..I don’t know the first thing about all...this” he gestured to his suit “I can’t make heads or tails or fancy of cocktails or caviar! A work bench and tools, a construction sight and mapping out underground tunnels, machine parts and dirty oil rags- those things I get!”
Higari had only opened up his worries about Ecto’s parents to Ecto himself, but before he knew was what happening, his worries where spilling from his mouth before he could stop them.
“And when I found you’d sent me an invite to this event too, I was...I didn’t want you to be..” Higari looked ashamed to even finish his sentence, and sheepishly turned his head away from Mr Kurōn to try and hide from his gaze “E-Embarressed by me..what that guy, Uh, Zeikin said. I..I hate to admit it but, most of what he said, ‘bout me being...insecure...most of it, held..some truth”
After he was finished there was a lengthy silence, then Mr Kurōn hummed, Higari tugged harder at his hair “.....Ekuto, he always tells us how happy you make him” he smiled, peering off at nothing before he smiled down at Higari “In school, at UA, I don’t think he had many friends” he said, shrugging “He didn’t really talk about it much with me and his mother, he always assured he had friends but, never wanted them round....Then you came along!” His smile widened, the light seeming to come back to his face “You where the first person from school that seemed to have changed him for the better! He was always so happy when he came back from school each day, after spending it with the mysterious friend he had”
Another pause
“...Do you make Ekuto happy?” He asked, looking to Higari.
Higari wasn’t sure if this was a trick question, so answered with a nervous “I...I like to think I do”
“You think?” Mr Kurōn titled his head “Or you know?”
“....I know” Higari said “...I really want to make Ecto happy, I try to keep him happy!”
Mr Kurōn seemed pleased with that answer “Then why would we want you to be some else?” He asked, leaning forward.
Higari’s eyes widened, his eyes darting up to him to see if what he had said was genuine. Mr Kurōn held nothing but honesty on his face, no trace of a facade or act anywhere, just..a genuine smile
he rose his brow at Higari, as if his thought on the matter should have been obvious.
“..I-I..” Higari tripped over his words, stuttering like a fool “I-I-..I-Uh..T-That’s-“
“You have nothing to prove Higari” Mr Kurōn insisted, saying the words he knew Higari needed to hear - and probably wanted to hear for a long time. He placed his hand on Higari’s shoulder, giving him a friendly shake “You are very easily likeable!”
If Higari’s eyes had been wide before, now they had shot open to the size of plates. Turquoise pupils staring at Mr Kurōn in shock, mouth hung open in a small o shape, causing Mr Kurōn to chuckle a little. Higari’s mouth snapped shut, realising he must have been gawking in his surprise. “Uhm-that’s-“ Higari turned away, feeling embarrassed, praying it wasn’t as obvious as if felt “T-Thank you..”
“You’re welcome”
Me Kurōn stood to his feet, stretching his arms out above his head before they flopped to his side, hands resting in his pockets “Hm..I think I’ve had enough of parties for one evening” He stated, looking down to Higari who craned his neck just to peer up at him. “Why don’t we all go out, get some proper food - my treat!” He said “...It’s the least I could do to make up for what happened. I can assure you, Zeikin will not be hosting business with us any time soon”
He offered out a hand “Come on, let’s not hang around in the cold. Besides-“ he looked back in the direction of the building “Ecto is starting to get worried, I’m sure you know at this point how he can be when worried”
....Higari chuckled, letting Mr Kurōn help pull him to his feet “Yeah” he said with a nod “He can be a bit of a worry wort” he admitted with a laugh, Mr Kurōn joining in lightly.
One meal later and drinks down at a small pub and Higari was feeling more like himself, the way he’d always tense up when Ecto’s parents so much as looked his way vanished entirely, for the whole evening he seemed to forget all about trying to uphold a certain image in front of them. He’d had a drink, he’d ordered what he wanted, he’d taken off his bow and untucked his shirt - and he’d had fun!
He and Ecto returned to the hotel room, and flopped back tiredly onto the hotel bed in sync “Well..” Ecto said, eyes on the ceiling “That was...something” he said. Higari hummed, eyes closed behind his frazzled hair, he’d given up trying to keep it neat once they’d all gone out for food. Shyly, Ecto peered down to his partner, nagging guilt knawing at his consciousness “Higari I...I’m so sorry about what ha-“
He was silenced when Higari had lazily shuffled his way up the bed and smashed a kiss confidently to Ecto’s lips. Half of Ecto’s next words where muffled into the kiss, body jolting on the bed before he kissed back. Higari pulled away, leaving Ecto wide eyed, red faced and panting
“Ecto...” Higari let himself become comfy on top of Ecto’s chest, nuzzling his nose into the crook of his neck as he let out a sigh “I’m fine, really” he said “You don’t have to worry about me all the time..” he reassured, still half sprawled ontop of him while Ecto peered to him “B-But-“
Higari gently pressed a finger to Ecto’s mouth “Shhhh..” he gently shushed him, his eyelids feeling heavy as his body registered how tired he was from the night out “We’re good Ecto, I’m good, you’re parents are good..” he slowly slid off Ecto’s chest, curling up into his side like a puppy, his body unconsciously seeking out Ecto’s warmth “In fact, despite what happened..” Higari smiled up at his boyfriend “...I really enjoyed tonight!”
Ecto blinked, not used to seeing Higari act so soft, but a tender smile soon took its place on his face “...I’m glad” his hand moved to Higari’s hair, sweeping aside his fringe to peer down into Higari’s half lidded sleepy eyes. He pressed another one of his kisses to Higari’s cheek, his heart jumping in his chest at the giggle Higari let out
He pressed another kiss to Higari’s other cheek, Higari let out a snicker.
Ecto pressed one of his kisses to Higari’s nose, Higari bit his lip to try and stifle his laughter.
Ecto then moved to Higari’s neck, where he knew he was terribly sensitive. So when he nuzzled his face into the crook of his neck, Higari let out an honest god squeal from shock - Ecto could hardly contain himself as he chuckled, before counting his nuzzling assault on his small husband who cackled and tried to escape Ecto’s death trap hug “Ectooo!~”
Maybe people like Zeikin would have his opinions, no questions there: but you know what, if Ecto and his parents loved him the way he was
Why should he care anyway??

“I’ve told you this, always choose Yoshi.”
seokjin x reader (or oc) genre: fluff word count: 2.3K
a/n: hi lovelies!! Let the boyfriend Jinnie uploads commence! We’re starting off with some playful crackhead Jin/Poopsie, naturally. This drabble is built around the Mario vs. Yoshi debate that takes place in my Yoongi drabble, “I didn’t think you’d care if I came back.” (not necessary to read to understand this fic). The boys went away to Japan for a work trip and Poopsie went away to visit family, so this is their reunion. As always, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy! :))
Tumblr media
HOW the other members didn’t despise your existence was beyond you, you thought, as you stood outside their door, knocking incessantly with a giddy grin planted on your face.
It had only been ten days since you had seen your boyfriend, him having been on a trip to Japan for work and you being away to see some family for a few days, but the ten days felt much too long.
Mid-knock, the door swung open revealing your handsome fella, adorned in an oversized blue hoodie and some grey sweatpants, a massive smile spread across his face. Without a word, you jumped into his open arms, wrapping your own around the back of his neck and Jin hugging you close to him.
“You’re not allowed to go anywhere anymore,” you mumbled against his chest, Jin chuckling.
“You’re not either,” he told you, leaving a kiss to the top of your head. “I missed you,” he whispered, you pulling away to look at him with a smile.
“I missed you too,” you giggled, Jin leaning forward to press his lips to yours in a sweet kiss. Jin wrapped you back up in a tight hug and pulled you inside the dorm, kicking the door shut behind you. Toying with the ends of his hair at the nape of his neck, you couldn’t decide in that moment what exactly you wanted to do with the man. Part of you really wanted to fuck him, to be completely honest, while the other part of you just wanted to cuddle with him and catch up on all the conversations you couldn’t fit into your schedules.
Either way, you wanted to be alone with him. Peering around his broad shoulders, you looked around the living space. “So uh, is Yoongi here?” You asked, checking to see if his room was roommate was around, but intentionally making your tone a bit flirty, just to mess with your boyfriend.
“Wah,” he shouted, pushing you away, you throwing your head back in laughter. “Yoongi? Do you know who I am?” You bit back your laughter, giving him a look with raised eyebrows, as if you were waiting for him to inform you of just who he was. “Oh you punk,” he complained, “I’m World Wide Handsome, have some respect.”
You giggled, thoroughly amused by your boyfriend as you walked back toward him, only for Jin to turn his back on you, crossing his arms over his front.
“Ahhh,” you said in realization, “World Wide Handsome, how could I forget?” You teased just as Jimin entered the room to see you wrapping your arms around Jin’s waist in a back hug.
“Figures,” Jimin said in feigned annoyance as he watched Jin struggle in your arms, you turning to look at the younger man. “The noise makes since now,” Jimin joked, looking at you both with a smile as Jin managed to pull one of your arms off of him, you grinning back at the younger man.
“Hi Jiminie,” you greeted, but before Jimin could respond, planning to ask you how your family was, Jin halted all efforts to get away from you.
“Are you calling my girlfriend loud?” Jin interrupted, standing up straighter as he pretended to prepare for a fight. “Hold me back,” he told you as he placed your arm back onto his abdomen.
Playing along, a massive smile on your face, you held him tight. “Jin, calm down, he’s not worth it,” you said as if you were really holding the man back, Jimin rolling his eyes at you both.
“I honestly don’t know what’s worse,” Jimin started, making his way past you both toward the dorm door. “You two being apart so we have to listen to Jin whine about how much he loves and misses you all the time, or having you two together.”
“Aww, Jinnie,” you cooed, looking over his shoulder at him. “Do you talk about me all the time?”
“I take back every nice thing I said about you,” he informed you in feigned anger, you giggling against his back.
“Tell me, what do you love about me?” You asked just as Jin cracked a smile, you tickling his sides just slightly.
“Anyways,” Jimin interrupted, putting his coat on and telling you both, “I’m heading out to grab dinner with Tae and the girls.” You pouted fondly at his plans. You always found their friend group to be adorable. “Don’t be too gross or obnoxious, Jungkook is still here and me and Tae will be back later.”
With that, Jimin was opening the door, Jin shouting out, “Yeah, you better walk away before I show you how a man defends his love,” the door closing behind Jimin leaving a huffy Jin, acting as though he was genuinely worked up.
You found Jin to be hysterical, the way he could act so childish and put on an act so quickly, flipping between moods and characters.
“Wow, you’re so sexy when you’re defending my honor,” you complimented, Jin turning in your arms to look at you.
“You think so?” He asked with an air of confidence.
“Definitely,” you nodded, leaving a kiss to his shoulder blade. “Big turn on.” He gave you a stoic expression as he basked in your words, you giggling at his dorkiness. “You know, I was only asking if Yoongi is here to see if we have the room to ourselves.”
“Well, we’re in luck because he hasn’t been around in three days,” he told you, your eyebrows pulling together.
“Wait, what? Are we concerned about this?” You asked, curious as to where your boyfriend’s roommate had been.
Jin hummed, shrugging. “He’s been at the studio.” You nodded slowly, Jin turning in your arms to wrap his own around your shoulders, pulling you into a hug again. “Don’t worry, you absolute sweetheart, I’m sure he’s ok,” he told you, you letting out a scoff against his chest.
“I’m not even worried,” you negated, Jin chuckling into your hair, humming in pretend agreement. “I’m not,” you whined. Jin enjoyed teasing you for your sometimes over-concern for his members. You had known them all as long as you had known Jin, so you had a few soft spots for the dudes. “Whatever, can we just go to your empty room now?” You asked, pulling out of his arms and walking toward the bedroom. Jin watched you walk away, a smile on his face. Turning around to see him across the room from you, you huffed. “Jinnie,” you whined out, holding your hand out to him. “Stop being a god all the way across the room and come be a god over here with me.”
“Are you acknowledging my status as World Wide Handsome?” He asked, stubbornly staying in place.
“I always do, now if you don’t get over here right now, I’m going to go hang out with Jungkook instead,” you told him, Jin immediately scurrying toward you as he complained.
“Don’t you dare,” he told you, taking the hand you still held out to him before spinning you around and lightly shoving you toward the bedroom, you cackling as you walked in front of him. “I already fought one man for you tonight,” he started.
“Oh hardly,” you interrupted as you both stepped into the room, Jin ignoring you as he closed the door and continued.
“I’ll fight another if I have to,” he told you, both of you quickly making your way to the bed.
“Calm down, tough guy,” you teased with a grin, Jin grabbing your waist as he pulled you down onto the bed with him, your bodies crashing together upon impact with the mattress. “Jesus,” you giggled, Jin chuckling beneath you.
You rolled off of him, lying next to him, both of you facing each other. “I love you,” you told him, a soft smile appearing on Jin’s face.
“I love you too,” he told you, leaning in to place a short but sweet kiss to your lips.
“How was the trip?” You asked, your hand running through his hair, pushing his fringe off his forehead.
“Jungkook kicked my ass in Mario Kart,” he told you bitterly, you letting out a loud laugh before awing sadly. Of course he would choose to tell you about a video game match rather than the actual purpose of the trip. “That’s why you’re not allowed to talk to him.”
“That mean kid,” you giggled. “Were you Mario again?”
“Of course, I was Mario, who else would I be?” He questioned you as if your question was beyond ridiculous.
“Yoshi,” you exclaimed. “I’ve told you this, always choose Yoshi.”
“Mario is the best character, what are you talking about?” He asked, his voice raising, showing off his old man Jin side. “Why on earth would I choose Yoshi?”
“Because he’s the best,” you told him as if it was obvious.
“That’s crazy!” He yelled, you nearly laughing at his tone. “The game is called Mario Kart, Mario is the center of the game. He’s the whole franchise.”
“And how did Mario work out for you?” You asked him, Jin’s eyes widening as he stuttered over an answer. “I don’t care if the whole game and franchise is named after Mario, Yoshi is hands down the best character in the Mario realm, and that’s just a fact.” He let out sounds of negation throughout your rant, you shooting him a glare in response.
“There wouldn’t even be a Yoshi if it weren’t for Mario because there would be no Mario franchise,” he ranted, you giving him an incredulous look. Just as you were about to respond, someone cleared their throat from the doorway, Jin looking up and greeting the person with an, “oh, hey.”
You sat up, spotting Yoongi, your eyes going wide. “Oh, Yoongi, thank god you’re here,” you exclaimed. Yoongi gave you a surprised expression and you had to hold back a giggle at the clear confusion on his face. “Tell Jin that Yoshi is the best Mario character.” Yoongi’s confusion only became more prevalent in his features.
“That’s ridiculous and you know it,” Jin shouted before Yoongi could even think to respond, Jin’s eyes blown comically wide when you turned to look at him. “Yoshi can be your favorite character, but you can’t argue he’s the best,” he told you, moving his head around as if it was on a bobble.
“Why can’t I?” You asked in exasperation.
“Because it’s not called Super Yoshi, or Yoshi Kart,” your boyfriend explained again, holding onto his silly argument of Mario being the franchise. You knew he was purposely winding you up, but you were taking the bait. You always did, and you both loved it.
“You’re so annoying,” you huffed, Jin laughing at your attitude. Shaking your head at his amusement, he only laughed harder, leaning toward you to kiss your cheek, but instead mostly just giggling against your face. You almost broke into a giggle of your own.
“Aw, but I got you something in Japan,” Jin suddenly told you, crawling off the bed and standing next to it above you as you watched him curiously. Your eyebrows were raised as you observed your boyfriend dig inside his sweatpants pocket. Pulling his hand out, he held a cute little Yoshi figure in his hand, and you had to bite back the smile that nearly immediately spread across your face. “It’s Yoshi!” Jin said cheerfully, moving it around to show you the figure better.
The smile got harder to hold back as you looked at the man holding the toy. Why is he so cute?
“I may disagree with you, but I support you and your poor judgement,” he teased you, lowering himself onto the bed, sitting up on his knees.
Your amusement broke through at the comment, smiling at him as you shook your head. “I’m in love with you, so you may be on to something with the poor judgment thing,” you joked, taking the Yoshi figure from Jin as you cooed at it. Jin failed to hold his glare as a large smile overtook his face. “It’s so cute,” you pouted. “Thank you.”
Jin lowered himself over your frame, kissing your lips softly. “You’re welcome, my love.” The door clicked closed, both of you looking to it, realizing Yoongi had snuck out. Your eyes shifted from the door to your boyfriend, hovering above you.
“Is he ok?” You asked, Jin staring at the door a moment longer before looking down at you.
“I’ll talk to him tomorrow,” he told you before placing a kiss to your nose. “Do you like it?” He questioned, nodding to the little Yoshi in your hand.
“I love it, Jinnie, thank you,” you smiled, placing your free hand at the back of his head, pulling him into a kiss. He deepened it, one arm supporting himself above you as his opposite hand slid to your side, easily digging underneath your shirt to feel your bare skin. Your fingers threaded into his hair, pulling lightly on the strands, Jin smiling against your mouth. “Are you sure this is ok?” You mumbled into the kiss.
“We have the room to ourselves,” he reminded you, not bothering to move his lips off of yours, going right back into the kiss after he spoke.
“But Kookie,” you noted against his mouth, just before Jin’s hand slid up your abdomen, his fingertips dragging against the underside of your boob.
Pulling away to shoot you a glare, you smiled at the feigned anger. “He beat me in Mario Kart, love.” The way he spoke the words, as if Jungkook deserved to hear and be made uncomfortable, made you cackle loudly, Jin smiling widely at the sound of your amusement.
“I told you, should have chosen Yoshi,” you retorted, Jin taking a sudden breath before letting it out in annoyance.
He thought about a response but instead just chuckled before connecting his lips to yours again. “Fuck, I missed you.”
Dropping the Yoshi figure, you brought your hand to waistband of his sweatpants. “Missed you too, my love,” you breathed out against his mouth. “So much.”
