Jack Hughes x Reader synopsis : when Jack loses a big game, he comes over to seek support from his favourite person. word count: 1.5k warnings: sad jack, fluff, angst? Authors note: I have more fanfics coming soon, i have a range of them pre -planned with covers and titles and I read everyones request so if i don't get to yours then it's because i already have a story planned for that player or request. I slumped down on my bed, easily immersing myself in the world of fiction, every now and then munching on the bowl of popcorn I had sitting beside me. Jack was playing for team USA tonight so I was waiting patiently for him to message me that the game ended so we could call or hang out. Something about these big games excited me, not for the sport but for the post game interviews. 

It was nice to watch the interviews and read through the comments as if you couldn't just ask Jack the same questions yourself and actually get real and honest answers. 

You didn't know the final score yet so you went on youtube to see if a post game interview was up and you were met with the prettiest blue puppy dog eyes you've ever seen, but you knew jack and this was definitely not gonna be a happy interview. You click on the video and are met with a saddened Jack on the verge of tears, your heart aches for him as you listen to his answers; you were mad that they would interview a 17year old on the verge of tears and still ask the most idiotic questions. 

I only made it about 5 minutes into the video before I  got a message on my phone.

Jack 💘:  I’m outside. 

                                                 Okay, coming down now.         

I  walk down towards the front door and see a dishevelled jack peering back at me.

“Hi. Can I come in?” The young hockey player asks while twirling with his fingers. 

“Of course” I answer, slightly smiling at him as I move my body so he can slip past me. 

He walks through my doorway and up towards my room, I trail behind him closely up until he reaches my bed and slumps down on it , exhaustion evident on his face as he looks up at me standing in the doorway. “Are you okay?” I asked quietly, not wanting to make him feel worse, though judging by the way his lip quivered and his head shook, I'm not sure that was the right decision. 

“We lost” he says just above a whisper 

“Hm?” I walked closer to him and sat beside him, reaching over to hold his hand that he was fiddling with in his lap. “We lost the game, we lost everything” he states, audible this time.

“Oh. well it’s okay-” "NO ITS NOT OKAY” Jack yells, standing up and turning to face me, running his hands through his freshly washed hair. “It's not okay, I let my team down, I let my parents down, I've let everyone down and I'm so tired” he rants on, quieting down towards the end. 

“Hey, hey . It is okay, alright? Just because you've lost this game, doesn't mean you've lost everything"

"yes it does, you have no idea what it's like to lose something like this. You don't have to worry about making sure you end up drafted. You'll never know.” ' Jack replies quickly, raising his voice once  again 

“you havent lost everything,i know it feels like it and i know you’re upset. But please don’t start yelling at me when I'm just trying to help you.'' He looks at me after I say this, tears filling up his eyes.

 “You’re right, im sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you, I'm just so angry at myself, I could've played better , we could've won but I let everyone down." I stand up and walk in front of him 

“Hockey is a team sport, Jack. One loss isn't your fault, besides all hockey players lose big games, even the best of the best.” Jack doesn't reply, instead he just nods his head and wipes a falling tear from his cheek.

“You’re an amazing player Jack, anyone can see that. You played well, and so did everyone else. Losses happen, it wouldn't be competitive if nobody lost.” He nods again, looking down at the ground. 

I sigh before continuing “why don't we just lay down and watch a movie?hm?” i ask 

The boy sniffles before nodding, replying with a light yeah as he makes his way back over to my bed. He sits against the headboard and watches me as I sit down and open my laptop. Stupidly i forgot to close the youtube tab i had opened from his interview and there it was, my boys said face displayed on my computer. I look over at Jack, he stares at the screen then back at me. 

“Sorry, i usually watch your post game interviews” i apologise.``its okay, i think its cute you watch my interviews” he smiles lightly at me, his beautiful smile that i didnt think i'd see tonight was there on display “what can i say? You're just too hard to resist” I joke, gaining a light chuckle from the boy  before fixing my eyes back to the screen so we can pick something to watch.

“Do you really think everything will be okay?” Jack asks in a mumble. “Mhm, you're gonna be okay” Jack leans up to face me “i'm gonna be okay” he repeats “you’re gonna be okay” i reply before he leans in and presses his soft lips on mine, we pull away and jack returns to his previous position, snuggling his face into my neck. “Goodnight, Jack. Love you” i say softly “mm night, love you too y/nn” jack replies before swiftly drifting off to a much needed sleep.

I wrap my arms around Jack in a warm embrace, sinking down into the pillows and pulling the blanket up higher. Light snores are audible from the boy as he leans into my touch, even when he's sleeping, he still manages to tighten his arms around me, lightly rubbing circles on my skin from where my shirt rolled up. I play with his hair while  allowing my eyes to grow heavy and fall into a peaceful slumber. Comfortable with the outcome of this otherwise devastating night

"Smile Y/N! A picture for Mami before she gets to the stadium!" Olga grins at you as you pull a cheesy grin, you little front teeth on show.

"Chippy." You point to Olga's lunch and hope she's going to give you one of her fries.

She chuckles and puts a few fries in the side of your mac and cheese bowl.

Abuela Eli, sat beside you, reminds you to close your mouth whilst you eat. You nod and follow her instructions.

Having just turned two you were being introduced to a knife and fork, you pick up your plastic fork and use both of your little hands to hold it to stab into a piece of macaroni.

"Good girl!" Eli praises you as you begin giggling and go shy and chew on your food.

You take your time to eat your food, making Olga and Eli wait around for an extra long time.

"See Mami now!" You put your fork on the table and try to get down.

Olga is quick to stop you, a baby wipe at the ready for your sticky hands and mouth.

You make a stop at the car so she can change you into your Spain kit, Alexia 11 on your back like usual.

"See Mami! See Mami!" You skipped toward the stadium, holding on Olga's hand.

"When Mami play?" You shrugged your shoulders and sulked a little as you were still waiting for Mama to be subbed onto the pitch.

Eli keeps you distracted with your soft toy and a packet of sweets which ends up making you hyper and squirmy.

They allow you to get down and jump and clap to the chants and songs the fans sing. You go down a couple of steps to sit on the concrete floor at the bottom of the stand where the fence is.

Peering through the gap you look to see if you can spy out Mami anywhere but you can't see her.

Eli calls you back up to sit closer by them so they can keep an eye on you.

You plop yourself into Olga's lap and she explains what is happening in the game for you.

"Want Mami" You play with your bunny, beginning to get bored.

"She'll come on soon, mi querida "Eli smiles.

Eventually, Mami does get subbed onto the pitch. You jump up and down and clap your hands, waving them about in the air and giggling as everyone watches you. "MAMI MAMI!" You shout as she runs onto the pitch.

You begin to get more engaged in the game now, asking Olga questions in your toddler babble.

When Salma scores you clap again and giggle even more, looking around as everyone goes crazy. You don't quite understand why they're going as crazy as they are but you look up at Olga and flash her another big cheesy grin.

At full time you ask Olga and Eli to see Mami, they go down to the front and you look through the railings, waving at Ona and Aitana as they walk past to find their families.

You get a little confused when you see mamas teammates crying. You thought this was a happy moment?

"MAMI!" You shout when you see her walk around from the bench with Jenni and Mariona. "MAMMII" You shout even louder so she can hear you after the noise of the crowd.

When she spots you waving your hands and smiling brightly she leaves her team and rushes over. You see tears in her eyes too and want to be in her arms to give her a cuddle.

"Down Mami!" You tell her, trying to reach through the metal rails by sticking your arm through whilst crouching on the floor.

"I can't reach you, bebita." She sighs.

"Down!" You point to Alexia and stamp your feet, getting frustrated and upset as you just want to be with Mami and it doesn't seem to be happening.

Your not sure who, but someone lifts you up and lowers you over the railing so Mami can hold you to take you on the field.

"Mami no cry!" You gasp, putting your hands on her cheeks and pouting your bottom lip which begins to quiver.

"These are happy tears, mi princesa. We are in the semi final! Do you know what that means?" She sniffles, smiling as she kisses your cheek gently.

You shake your head and look at her, intrigued.

"It means we nearly win a trophy!" She grins.

You gasp a little and smile. "Trophy!"

Mami nods. "Maybe, if we keep playing really well." A few more tears drip from her eyes.

"Happy tears" You repeat what she says, using your little fingers to carefully wipe the tears from Mami's face, trying to be gentle.

"I like w- watch, I. Um." You waffle, trying to get the toddler babble out again. "Watching you play ball"

"You like watching Mami play ball?" She chuckles softly, kissing you softly. "Such a sweet girl." She rubs your back gently and cuddles you. "I love you, bebita. So much." She breathes as your head is buried into her neck.

"Mami? Um, Olg- Olgi show you my roni?" You ask, lifting your head up and running your finger down Mami's cheek.

"Sí, she sent me the photo of you eating macaroni." Mama giggled softly, happy to know that's all you care about.

You grin brightly and fall limp into her arms as she sways you side to side, whispering sweet words in your ear so you can hear her over the noise of the crowd.

She calls up to Eli and Olga that she is going to take you through to the change rooms and that she'll meet them upstairs.

You become a little meerkat, well that's always what Mapi used to say.

Moving your head side to side and peering over Mami's shoulder to look at everything and everyone.

You refuse to walk, a little bit shy in such a big place, so you stay safe in Mami's arms.

She holds your head against her as you go through the mixed zone, avoiding your face getting in pictures and videos unnecessarily as that isn’t something you should have to be doing at 2 years old. You didn’t need you face plastered all over the media.

“Mama you pretty” You look at her once your through the busy section of the stadium, looking at the way her smile brightens up and her eyes are all glossy with tears but in such a beautiful way.

“Thank you, my baby.” She smiles, rubbing your face softly and giving you more kisses.

“Look Y/N!” You follow where Mami is pointing and see Mateo running down the hall beside Irene.

You try to wriggle free, so Mama puts you on the floor and lets you run off to him as the hall is pretty empty.

“Hola Mateo!” You giggle, doing a little wave to the small boy.

You play together in the hall whilst Mama and Irene talk, cry together and laugh.

When you turn around to see Mami crying again you are quick to run back over and make sure she’s okay.

“Happy tears mami?” You ask, putting your hands up in a little shrug.

“Sí, happy tears.” She promises.

Synopsis: When Vernon, your childhood best friend finally comes to the realization of his deeply hidden feelings for you.

"Ugh, I can't understand this question!!" Rolling around in your bed you bump into Vernon, who's just sitting down calmly reviewing the paper for your mid-terms tomorrow. "Vernon, help me!" You whine, now looking up at him. "If you didn't waste all your time scrolling on your phone, you could've been caught up with me." He looks back at his paper. "I couldn't help it! Now please, I'm ready to study for real!" Determined now, you look at him with pleading eyes. "Fine, but if you go back on that phone, I'll stop helping you." "Okay!"

After some serious studying, you start feeling drowsy since it's literally 1:00am. Still lying on your bed, your eyes slowly begin to close, losing grip of the study sheet, it falls on the floor. Vernon's completely unaware of your sleeping state and keeps looking over his study notes.

Getting out of the bed, He goes and gets a drink from the kitchen. Walking back into the room he doesn't even bother to care about how quiet it is, moreover at how your hair is covering your face and your arm is dangling. He's quite used to this 'weird' side of you considering you've been friends since forever. After completely finishing his drink he looks over at your very still state. "How far have you gotten?" No response. He looks at your back raising an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you're mad because I have your phone, you literally asked to hold it so you wouldn't get distracted." Still no response. Brushing the hair off your face he finally notices you're sleeping state. "Oh..." His mouth makes the perfect 'o' shape while his brows are raised. Scoffing at you, he fixes your body making sure you're now under the covers. "I knew you wouldn't study for so long." He chuckles brushing some hairs off your face.

His heart races at the sight of your sleeping figure. This has been happening for a while, from you resting on his shoulders, to you holding his arm in a joking way. What he had thought meant nothing; soon started to be something more. 'Why do I feel like this?' Asking himself. Of course, he's always loved you, but this feels different. It was like a wave of realization washed over him, in which his hidden feelings for you can no longer be hidden, not even from himself. Seeing you in a completely different light felt weird to him. But nevertheless, he couldn't help but feel a surge of affection for you. Nervously biting his lip, he can't help but think what would happen to your friendship. Would you turn him down? Ignore him? Or just plain out say no? Deciding to ignore these thoughts, Vernon goes to his own room after making sure you're comfortable as you sleep.

A Week later

"Vernon! Vernon! Vernon!" As you're walking out of your last class of the day you spot Vernon waiting out front for you. "We finally got our results for our test! What'd you get?" Jumping around excitedly because you haven't even opened your own test score. "Let me guess, you want to check for me?" He looks at you already knowing your answer, and he simply hands you his paper. Scanning through his paper, you grin. "You passed!!" He looks totally unbothered, showing no sign of happiness making you frown. "What is it now?" You look at him. "Well, I kinda already looked a it earlier..." Fidgeting with his fingers like a child, you pout totally disappointed. "I had the feeling you did. You should've at least acted excited as if you didn't!" Vernon laughs at you while you're slumping over something that's not that serious. "You're right. But anyways let's see your score." Completely changing the conversation, he takes your paper. Now you're the nervous one. Watching his face to see any emotion that could 'give' away your score, you see nothing. "Stop teasing! did I pass or not?" He smiles, "Y/n... I can't believe you...passed?" Hitting him on his arm and chest he only laughs. "You had me scared to death! And why does it sound more like a question? you didn't have faith in me passing?!"

"Well, with the number of times, you were scrolling on your phone and then fell asleep soon after not having it...I don't know." He rubs the back of his neck, teasing you. "I passed, so I don't want to hear it! I can't wait for the party this weekend though."You both start walking to your dorms. "What should we do to celebrate? Movies?" You look over at him while he smiles. "You read my mind." He watches you with loving eyes as you walk ahead, skipping happily. Chuckling at his own self for being whipped for you, he jogs a bit to catch up with you. "So what movie are we thinking today?"

I don't think I ever gave a name to that, which results in me never truly pinpointing that, but Johnny is such an incredibly resilient and adaptive, quick thinking person.

I just did that mission with an old Samurai fan that refuses to give you the tape of the first concert(s) unless you prove to him you're also a big fan, and the way Johnny reacts combined with what we know about him? Amazing.

The game starts with Johnny wanting to kill V, but then he very quickly thinks it over and decides he has to work with V. "Changed my mind, made it pretty clear." & "I got a free ticket out of this prison, would be a fool not to take/use it."

Then, while he's still getting used to V, he says out loud that he's been watching her, been trying to understand how she works and in whose brain he's stuck with. When she asks what he wants, he says, "Help me settle my score with Arasaka." He has a clear goal, but he's constantly analyzing the world around him and adjusts if needed.

During the Samurai old tapes mission, Johnny says something like, "That's why you never bring old war heroes back. They might see that everything they fought for been turned to shit/been for nothing." Not the exact quote, but the point is the same.

After the conversation with that old fan, V asks, "The guys is your biggest fan. Not happy to meet him?" And to the entire situation Johnny basically reacts that the guys is stuck in the past. The Arasaka tower has been blown to bits by Johnny, but it's still standing, so nothing changes/changed. And V insists that "been fifty years, something must've changed and still changes, we just don't see it." Johnny says that the only thing that (truly) changed is that people (a person) used to be more than a bag of meat full of implants.

When Kerry is angry (as he should be) about his manager screwing him over and wants to attack Us Cracks backstage, upon seeing the girls, Johnny says something like, "They have potential. Kerry must be an idiot if he doesn't see that." Johnny probably saw/heard them during the first V's body takeover while he was partying, plus, he probably saw the footage that Kerry showed V at the diner while they were drinking coffee, so in theory he had time to think it through. However, it also seems like Johnny saw the band for the first time ever, heard what they were saying and how they wanted to help (that they're Kerry's fans, have multimillion contracts and are touring right here and now), so he immediately adapted—take the opportunity, don't be an idiot. While Kerry is insecure and is driven by that and emotions, and he wants to make it on his own.

The entire thing with Johnny first hoping to get out of V's brain and keep on living that resolves into him taking V to Pistis Sophia and promising her that "When it comes to my life for yours, I'll agree to get wiped." He sees what V is going through, he gets real, he thinks it over, he makes a quick decision and he sticks to his word.

There's probably more I could add, but jumping to the Temperance ending: how Johnny doesn't bother telling Kerry about V (which is both a shitty and a necessary thing to do), how he only reaches out to Rogue and updates her on the situation because it's something HE needs to do for himself. When she insults him, however, he a) he's still grieving the loss of V b) he doesn't start defending himself, nor does he bother to even reply to her messages. He told her all she needed to know, the rest doesn't (or at least shouldn't) bother him. It's a post factum to Johnny: this happened. He has to live with it & it doesn't matter what anybody says about that. And while he basically says to Steve. that Kerry is good, that he's happy for him and his success, he knows he has to get out of Night City. And who knows what happens if he calls Kerry or, God forbid, meets up with him and tells him that his partner/good pal (gn) is dead and Johnny took her place? It's like poking a beehive. Like adding salt to the wound while the wound is still bleeding. Johnny doesn't need that.

So what does Johnny say when he gets on the bus? "Didn't forget a thing. Will never forget." Johnny recognizes that everything that has happened has ALREADY happened and he should leave it in the past. He even tells to V's necklace that he can't keep on living like this, he has to move on—while the time after her death has barely passed (two weeks or two months, when you lose a loved one, it barely makes any difference. It's still an open wound.) He even tells Steve that he used to miss her, but not so much now. Which I think he tries to convince himself in order to move on and "man up" (which is a problem in itself, but that's not what the post is about), or be nice to the kid without burdening him because Steve already has lots of problems with his family, but maybe Johnny truly believes (or thinks that he does) that it's OK now. Just like with that old Samurai fan, he tells to himself not be get stuck in the past (while it's still his present, but again, that's another topic). The time to grieve has ended, gotta get on.

Again, combined with Johnny's horrible childhood, his dad selling him for a pack of cigs, Johnny losing his best friend at war and being experimented on with the new cyberware that made such an awful and lasting damage on him (and the entire untreated PTSD) that, when he emerged, everyone around him noticed that he's not quite himself, it's incredible that Johnny managed to not lose his mind and sanity completely. With drugs, alcohol, depression, but he kept being functional, managed to write songs, tour and perform.

And THEN the entire thing with V happens & he still finds enough of mental strength and energy to keep fighting for this body and this life that V gifted him. Make himself worthy of this body. Make V proud.

Johnny is such an amazing character. If there wasn't anyone and anything in this game that I liked, he and his character development alone would've kept me in the fandom. He and his story are a big part of why I keep calling Cyberpunk 2077 one of my favorite games and have around 380 hours put into the game (and it's still raising).

Been a fan of your fics for YEARS. I was just telling my friend how despite how much I read fics I never actually love them, with some of your fics (especially TMA) as the exception. Felt the need to reread some of them and saw you reblogged some ISAT fanart. So. Any thoughts on ISAT you'd like to share?

I avoided answering this for a while because I was trying to think of a way to cohesively and coherently vocalize my thoughts on In Stars and Time. I have given up because I don't want to hold everybody here all day and I have accepted that my thoughts are just pterodactyl screeching.

I love it so much. I have so much to say on it. It drove me bonkers for like a week straight. I have AUs. It's absolute Megbait. They're just a little Snufkin and they're having the worst experience of anybody's life. Ludonarratives my fucking beloved.

I am going to talk about the prologue.

The prologue is such a fascinating experience. You crack open the game and immediately begin checking off all of the little genre boxes: mage, warrior, researcher, you're the rogue...some little kid who's there for some reason...alright, you know the score. You're in yet another indie Earthbound RPG, these are your generic characters, let's get the ball rolling.

Except then you realize that these characters are people. You feel instantly how you've entered the game at its last dungeon, at the end of the adventure. They have their own in-jokes, histories, backgrounds, adventures. They get along well and they're obviously close, but not in a twee or unrealistic way. They have so much chemistry and spirit and life. I fell in love with them so quickly.

But Sif doesn't. Sif kind of hates them, because they will not stop saying the same damn thing. They walk the same paths, do the same things, make the same jokes, expect Sif to say the same lines. They keep referencing a Sif we do not see, with jokes we never see him make and heroic personality he never shows - they reference a Sif who is dead - and Sif can't handle that, so he kills them too.

They become only an exercise in tedious frustration. Sif button mashes through their dialogue, Sif mindlessly clicks the same dialogue options, Sif skips through the tutorial, Sif blows through the puzzles. Sif turns their world into a video game. Sif is playing a generic RPG. Sif forgets their names. They are no longer people with in-jokes, histories, backgrounds, adventures. They're the mage, the warrior, the researcher, and...some random kid.

I did not understand the Kid's presence at first. I had no idea what they contributed to the game. They didn't do anything. As a party member in a video game, they're a bit useless. Why is the Kid there?

Because Sif's life isn't a video game. Because the kid isn't 'the kid'. They're Bonnie. Bonnie, who the party loves. Why is Bonnie there? Because they love them. There is no room for Bonnie in the boring RPG that Sif is playing. And then you realize that Sif is wrong, and that they've lost something extremely important, and that they'll never escape without it.

Watching the prologue before watching ISAT gave ISAT the most unique air of dread and horror, because you crack open ISAT and you see the person Sif used to be. You realize that Sif used to be a person. Sif used to be the person who made jokes, who gave real smiles, who interacted with the world as if they are a part of it. And you know you are sitting down to watch Sif lose everything that made them a person, to lose everything that made them a member of this world, and turn them into a character in a video game who doesn't understand the point of Bonnie at all.

At the climax of the game, when the others realize that something is deeply wrong and that Sif physically cannot tell them, they realize that there is nothing they can do. So Bonnie declares snacktime. And for the first time they have snacktime.

What is snacktime? Classic JRPGs don't have snacktime. There's literally no point to a snacktime - not in a video game, and not in Sif's terrible life. It's not fixing this, because nothing can fix this. But Bonnie gives Sif a cookie and Sif eats it.

It's meaningless. It's a cutscene. It didn't save Sif and it didn't change a thing. It will make no difference in the end.

But it did make the difference. It made all of the difference in the world. Bonnie is a character who you really don't understand the point of before you realize that Bonnie was the entire point.

ISAT is about comfort media. Why do we play the same video games over and over again? Why do we avoid watching the finale of our favorite shows? What is truly comforting: a story with no conflict, or a story where you always know what is about to happen? Do you want to live in a scary, uncontrollable world, or do you want to play Stardew Valley? Do you want a person or a character?

When I beat Earthbound for the first time (and if you don't know, the prologue/ISAT battle system is just Mother) and watched the ending cutscene where the characters part ways and say goodbye...I felt a little bit sad. I wanted them to be together forever. But that's something only characters could ever be.

I was already a bit reserved about whether I thought these two would work out and that was before reading the rest of this arc, so...

Does Lisa know that this is going to end the way it does? I can't imagine she would, she wants her team happy and the way things are about to go between these two is not going to be super happy. Maybe she's reading Brian wrong, if what he said is true about not being so good with girls, and her power is misinterpreting the data

Taylor, you both fucked that up last night, don't pin it all on Danny. You could have told him and given him the opportunity to prove you wrong, to give you something better than the worst-case scenario, but you overruled that and left your home out of. Pride? Shame? C'mon girl.

Fucking finally we get the Alec backstory

Fucking creepy power, though I guess the real creep factor is that he's willing to use it and has used it to make a fucking slave army out of brainwashed women

I think that's the youngest age we have for a trigger event so far. And it was deliberately induced by Alec's father. Utterly horrifying.

So... Alec doesn't seem to think he has any kind of moral core, and I'm not sure that's true? Lisa is still the only one out of the group who carries a gun, and Taylor is out here with a knife that she's used to take eyes and toes at this point; Alec's got a comparatively nonlethal loadout, so even if he doesn't feel bad about killing, he doesn't put himself in a situation where it's easy to do.

Taylor, hon, I don't think it's on you to judge him, much as you would love to

Like. Was Alec even treated as a person before he got his power? Was he treated as a person after that? None of the adults in his life ever made an effort to raise him, because they were either his monster father or his father's brainwashed slaves who only cared about him, so any "parenting" would've come from older siblings probably about as fucked as him.

You know what? I'm laying it out here now. The fact that Alec is lazy, selfish, and kind of an asshole, who's not great at reading people and prioritizes personal pleasure over most other things? Actually no joke a huge mark in his favor, because that's who he's figured out how to be after spending 12-13 years of his 15-16 years of life in Hell (which, as I've long suspected, is contained within Montreal) and then three years on the run as a career criminal. The worst thing that I can say about him is that he acts like a shitty teenager, and people act like shitty teenagers while coming from normal homes. Congratulations, Alec, you will be getting a trophy for good behavior (given the circumstances) delivered in the mail

This is sweet. Even with this unpleasant surprise, Brian is still reluctant to act like they'd leave Alec to deal with Heartbreaker alone

This is the most obvious downside of the arrangement, setting aside the matter of "can we trust Coil" (hahahaha)

Current Thoughts

Main thing with this chapter is that we've gotten all but one Undersider backstory filled in with Alec's ties to Heartbreaker laid out. Lisa's the last holdout, and I suspect she'll remain mum on the subject as long as she can get away with it

I'm still of the position that Alec reads a lot more shallow on the surface than he actually is, but all we have to go off of is what he says and what he does, with the trick that it's filtered through Taylor's own fairly biased perspective (she thinks he's a coldblooded murderer because his father ordered him to kill an enemy gang member, and that's certainly a read of the situation but she's just as likely jumping to conclusions). He's also taken care to not do much when he can help it, save for the Bakuda fight where he worked his ass off keeping them all alive. It's a waiting game to get to the meat of his character, I suspect, same as basically every other Undersider except Rachel.

Speaking of which, really enjoy the next chapters with Rachel. By far the Undersider I'd spend the most time with. We'd hang out with dogs and not talk to each other for hours, it'd be great.

Anyway, after a brief little scare with my entire account getting temporarily dropped from existence, I'm going to start using the alt I made @wormstreetsback as a backup for this one, on the off chance something goes horribly awry again. Bugust. Day 2 (Buggy x OC)

"What? Nooo, my little bear. You and me are like real old people right now. I'm reading a book, and you're playing PlayStation. You look so cute now." Catherine tilted her head and narrowed her eyes. "All we have to do is put on our glasses and start complaining about taxes." She giggled and adjusted her imaginary glasses.

"Hey, I'm not old! Can old people do that? Look, Cathie-pie!" Buggy quickly pressed the joystick buttons and the computer man scored a goal. "See?"

"Wow! That was really cool! You're very good at this stuff, my love." Catherine looked out the window. "It's raining outside, I don't even want to get out of bed." She turned the page of the book. "Oh, look, Frida won the inheritance case and is now moving into her estate. She is planning to write a book."

"I'm happy for Frida. You've been worried about her for three evenings already." Buggy put the joystick aside and snuggled up to Catherine, looking at the book. "What are you reading, Cathie-pie? I forgot the name. Violet something..."

"It's "Purple Rain", Buggy." Catherine playfully scratched his head. "It's a very interesting book. You know, I once went to a presentation of this author's new book, when I lived in Loguetown. We chatted a little bit. She was a very nice girl."

Buggy sighed and snuggled closer.

Сatherine immediately put the book aside, wrapped her arm around Buggy's neck, and kissed him on the top of his head. "My blue-haired love, what's wrong? Are you sad?"

"Nah."

"I have chocolate cookies, they always cheer me up in the rain. Do you want?" Catherine started stroking Buggy's head.

He nodded in response.

Catherine giggled, kissed him on the head again, and pulled out a cookie. "Here, my flashy fool."

Buggy took a couple of cookies and began to chew them slowly.

"What are you thinking about?" Catherine asked quietly, listening to the crunch of chocolate chips.

"Nothing. What about you?"

"Oh, you know, when it rains, it always reminds me of how my sister and I made hot chocolate in this weather, sitting on the windowsill, chatting and watching people walking by. And now I'm thinking about how lucky I'm to have you in my life. Oh! Would you like some hot chocolate?" She began to gently massage Buggy's head and neck, and smiled as she watched him close his eyes and began to remind her of a cat. "Like it?"

"Fuck! Yeah. Don't stop, please."

"Okay!" Catherine continued massaging his head. "I need to cheer up my little bear. A-a-and! Here! Another cookie." She gave him two cookies and moved her hand to his shoulder.

"So fucking amazing." Buggy settled under her armpit. "Cookies, massage."

Catherine heard his stomach gurgling. "Are you hungry?"

"A little."

"Do you want me to make macaroni and cheese? But if you don't want to wait, we still have some turkey with tangerines in the fridge."

"Mac and cheese? Sounds good. Would you chop some sausages in there?" Buggy looked at Catherine with hope in his eyes "I like when you do that. Tasty."

"Of course, my Buggy Bear. And I'll make a hot chocolate for us." Catherine looked at the joystick on the bed. "Hey, can we play that game you were playing together? Can I join you? If you don't mind, of course. After the dinner, for example? Or we can bring food here and play."

"Oh, Cathie-pie," Buggy took her hand and started slowly stroking it with his fingers, "I'm the king of game consoles. Aren't you afraid of losing to me? But yeah, why not. But to make it more interesting let's play for some pancakes?"

I did some casual gathering on the good ol Wik. I don't recognize a lot or any of the previous works that he has been a part of, but it is a plenty some, so feel free to take a look for yourself. for a better idea, I took a glance at him through IMBD as well. I gotta be honest, not to cause any concern but just to be blunt, it's not the best look. when briefly checking out the works that he's done, a good some of them only make it up to 6 stars. only a few actually make it up to 8. but of course this could be due to a couple different factors, such as the source materials being not well known, or just not that great to begin with. after all he works mainly with adaptation. this could be his big break idk maybe :>

honestly, this could be a potential concern as well. we all know that an unfortunate part of the fandom, especially over in japan, is into things the rest of us would rather not see in anime. I don't know why else yana would continue to add fan-service time and time again(I'd rather not think of her personal preferences). so if this person is really interested in pandering to the fanbase, it may lead to some scenes being uncomfortable... as usual. but, I shouldn't focus on the negative, all in all this looks like it will be a good thing! all we want from an anime adaptation is for it to be faithful to the manga, and especially after season 1 and 2, I think this assurance is much needed. besides, this could be an indication that he will be working closely with Yana, and projects that do so have succeeded *points to campania*. I'm optimistic, and I sure hope that we're in good hands.

Hiroyuki Yoshino: Head Writer

so unless I'm looking at a different Hiroyuki Yoshino it looks like this guy is a voice actor and singer first... interesting. as far as I can see it, he hasn't voice acted anyone in Black Butler.

oh no yea completely different guy, my bad! very different. the Real Hiroyuki Yoshino(screenwriter) was the screenwriter for Book of the Atlantic! sorry. we're all good here, perfect in fact.

Yumi Shimizu: Character design

I'm not really jumping out of my seat to research this one, no offense to the designer, but I don't think we'll be seeing much character design other than Yana's. as for the artistic style of the anime, we already saw the teaser, and I think we're happy(I am really trilled that they released the announcement at the same time as the teaser, the announcement alone would not have had the same huge impact. plus it reduces the fear of cancelation ;] not putting that out there).

Ryo Kawasaki: Music

this is someone I really wanted to look into cause the music will matter a lot to me.

I found it, here's the soundtrack for the upcoming season 4.

with a background of jazz and band(popularizes to fusion genre apparently), this guy doesn't appear to fit with previous Black Butler soundtrack history. but I think that this is an indication that the mood and music of this season may be different of the rest due to it now being a sports show lol. and I think that's good! if done right I think the tone change will be hilarious, or, if everyone hates it, it's easily distinguishable from the rest.

I think this will be fun. here's more. also he looks awesome. impressive guy. man I'm praying for a killer new opening GOD.

CJL LIVE BLOG SEASON 1 [EPISODE 1]

So. I know, this is wrong. Coz I put the IPK one on hold and now i am starting another, but I thought, this one is just for 82 epis(SO SHORT? WTF? CHALA HI NAHI SHOW?!?!?) So, it wont take much time to complete this and I also wanted to keep this content and ipk content separate. Hence, a separate blog. I know y'all might be hard-core Arshi fans and ipk fans, but, give this one, a chance, as well, ok? Just for entertainment's sake? Please? Baaki, it's your choice ofc :) Hope you enjoy this.

1.) Hmm. Pune. Maharashtra. A girl peeping out through the car window. Enjoying the 'jaadu' in the air. Btw, I like the BG score, here.

2.) In the flashback, we see two kids sitting on a white horse and the horse is galloping in its full galore. The girl confirms the magic in the air as her hands are flying. Lol. Typical kids.

3.) Tara di's sister is asking about her opinion on her looks. IDK but I cringed real hard when she said, "Achi lag rahi hun naa?"(Like yeah darling, you look average. Lol. JK. You look stunning but stop with that cringe acting, ok?)

4.) Tara Di opens her hair and A SECOND-LITERALLY A SECOND AGO, she was irritated but then immediately she is impressed with her di's improvisation. Whatever. Lol.

5.) Selfies. Di is excited so she starts taking selfies and her younger sister is suspicious instantly. Why? Does she not take selfies on any normal day? Maybe. *shrugs*

6.) How typical of people to instantly assume that if a girl seems excited then she might be having a 'chakkar' with some boy. Why girl? Your sister can't be happy for her own self, just like that, without any reason? *hmph* Do you make her that upset? Lol. That now her excitement seems abnormal.

7.) NGL but this Tara di's sister is a really bad actor, whoever she is. Sorry. Lol.

8.) Tara Di gets off the car and lets them drive by. Then, she quickly runs to the Bus Station to catch a bus for--?--whatever.

A Side Gyaan : But that's such a bad way to catch a bus, actually. First, you catch the attention of the bus driver coz they are at a considerable height and then they stop the vehicle ONLY THEN you cross it and get on the bus, okay? My readers? Don't be like Tara Didi, okay? Good. Now, we come back to the epi.

9.) So. Tara didi is changing her shoes. I really thought for a sec that she will change her outfit too. Lol. A kid is staring at her antiques and she notices people are staring at her. So.

What do you think will she do?

a) ignore them

b) make faces at them

c) sunaoify (rudely) them for staring at a slightly differently dressed girl

d) give them a five page ka gyaan on social etiquettes as a soon-to-be 'Starplus Bahu'

Yeah. You are neither right nor wrong, coz she will randomly pull out a jar of lollipops and distribute it to appease them. Yes. We all do that. We all step out of our homes, thinking we might happen to be in a bus and can then distribute it among the children on the said bus. Whatever.

10.) TD gets off the bus and buys chana and gur for--?--*shrugs*

11.) TD is now sitting in a-tempo?-transport vehicle. Whatever. Driver announces her destination which is- "Sehgal Estate"

12.) The driver assuming her to be a tourist, warns her, of the place having been shut down for quite a few years now and he tells her that an accident had taken place, many years ago. TD flashes back to that 'haadsa' and politely dismisses him by stating that she is a local.

13.) Ok, ladies, so all things aside, who all can climb up and cross that gate, that high, with a WHITE SAREE and that too without staining it!?!? Anyone? No? See, our Tara D (Lol. I have so many name ideas for this girl.) CAN. She is a champion at this. (Okay so i wanted to take a screenshot of that long-ass gate but Jio Cinema didn't let me. Fudge you, Ambanis'. Whatever. Lol.)

14.) She takes help from Deva's flash back advice when he had first guided her to climb that (same?) gate. Okay, so that saxophone BG score is cute, okay? Lol.

15.) Gosh. How did they manage to find a small girl who looks exactly like Kanika Mann? Wow. Casting directors take a bow. *bows down with joined hands*

16.) Okay, so the titular song has started in the BG and I am loving it. Meanwhile, TD is going about the mansion and recalling that 'haadsa'.

17.) I am actually kinda liking this kid, Deva. How sweet of him. He extends a bunch of yellow flowers (symbolizing friendship). And damn, he has one hell of a head full of soft and flowy tresses. Wow. Any hair care tips for us, girls, Deva? Lol. Whatever.

18.) She digs out the 'nishaani' of their friendship which is basically two thick stones(or rocks?) joining like a puzzle piece and 'Badshah' along with caricatures of Deva and Tara, carved on the two pieces.

19.) She becomes very emotional, holding the symbol of a once very beautiful bond she had with some boy named- Deva. And then out of the blue we hear a horse neighing and Tara instantly brightens as she recognizes Badshah.

20.) Sure enough, we see Badshah running towards Tara and Tara on reaching close to it, touches it affectionately on it's jaws. We see that Badshah is indeed angry and disappointed on Tara. He starts running away as Tara tries to pacify it(him?). Oh. So. The chana and gur was for a horse. Ok. Nice.

Fun-Fact : All things set aside, Kanika genuinely had to interact with a horse in the middle of the shoot. I wonder if there's some story to this episode which she might have, like she was hell scared of horses and yet had to learn how to interact even if it's a well trained horse, we are talking about. Okay. Enough. Now back to the epi.

21.) Basant Kaka has come to see Tara Bitiya. What's with that line?-"Main janta tha ki aaj ka din tu bhulegi naayi, zarur aayegi." Kya hai aaj ke din mein aisa? Tara's demeanor changes as she recalls the incidents that took place in today's date.

22.) She tells BK that today is the day she met HIM (Deva?) and she reveals that he was the only one who made her Tara from 'Phus Tara' (Deflated Star or according to Jio Cinema's caption-'Timid Tara'. Basically an insulting nick name.)

(Lol. See. I got another name. But. Sorry i won't use that coz it triggers her childhood trauma.)

22.) Do I see vengeance there, Tara? Okay. So, we are being taken 15 years back.

23.) Wow. What an a__hole of a brother. He is chasing Tara all over the house with a bunch of crackers (chataai?) Tara is hidden inside the cupboard but she wants to come out because she is scared of darkness and it's all dark inside the cupboard. Ronak bhaiya fools her to come out but lays the chataai bomb and lights it with a matchstick giving her a 'Sehgal Promise'. These Sehgals seem to be too stuck up of a family tho.

Not-So-Fun Fact : God, these are the worst kind of crackers not only coz of the sound but also they keep scattering everywhere, while bursting, once lit. Even I am hell scared of these and always stand at least 1 Km away from these. Lol.

24.) Not knowing better (how would she? she is just a kid of 7-8 something.) Tara trusts her wicked brother, who has already run away to the veneration, steps out of the cupboard but it's too late the crackers keep scattering everywhere and bursting in the meantime and the poor kid is hell scared she starts calling out for her father ("Baba").

25.) Baba is doing aarti of Devi Maiyya (Oh. Hello DM. How are you? How are Khushi-Arnav and their munchkins doing? Lol. Sorry. I get carried away a bit.)

26.) WAIT. WHAT!?!!?!?! Is that the same guy, who was in Sheesh Mahal, on the fashion show night and Khushi came, asked him for directions but instead got to listen to an Urdu Shayari? Wow. See. A crossover we didn't deserve but got anyway. Whatever.

27.) Baba was doing aarti when his hell scared daughter comes and merely touches his back and the veneration plate skips away from his hand. Lol. What kind of a diet Baba takes that he couldn't even handle a gentle push from a mere kid of 7? Whatever.

But the thing that surprises me more is that he is about to lash out at her in front of the whole-family?- bunch of people. This is where I thought that there's some major tiff going on, in the family, like, everyone is against a mere kid.

28.) Baba, your daughter was hell scared, that too, coz of your a__hole of a son. A lil bit of compassion would go a long way. Thank you.

29.) Wow. A__hole father, a__hole brother. Tara. Run. I said. RUN. Whatever. Poor kid. Is getting blamed for the thing that she couldn't have any control of. So. Baba's wife died at childbirth. So. Now. He has got a lifetime license of blaming and punishing his daughter for it. WoW. jUsT. wOw.

30.) Some one please call a gynecologist and enlighten him that it hardly has anything to do with the child but has everything to do with proper timely medical care. Whatever.

31.) OH. She is crying in front her mother's portrait. Asking if she would ever be loved by anyone or not. I so desperately want to go and give her a looooooong jaadu ki jhappi. Uff. I am getting goosebumps now.

32.) She hears a melody being played out from a harmonica and is instantly drawn to its source. She sees, a boy riding a horse named Badshah and carrying balloons on it's saddle. She is kind of intrigued by this boy.

33.) The boy introduces himself as Deva and in the process, mocks Ronak. Ronak is kind of irritated of this boy already and tries to take over the horse and orders BK to light a long-ass chataai (do they have nothing else in the name of crackers? Lol. 'sEhGaLs') But, Deva is frantic and warns not to burst crackers as it will make Badshah go crazy and mocks him again and Ronak pushes him and Deva falls down.

34.) BK, following his master's orders, lights the chataai and Badshah goes crazy, starts running around violently. There is chaos everywhere, somewhere in the midst, Baba also shouts. The horse Badshah is now running towards Tara and Tara is frightened to the core. She freezes at her spot and covers her face ready to face the impact. Deva pulls off a high jump stunt and lands on the horse's back and calms him down in the process.

35.) Deva tries to cheer Tara up and is successful and from there on they both spend time together and thus become hard core friends.

36.) Deva lightens up her world. She smiles more, laughs more, conquers her fears a lil bit more, every time she is with Deva. And one fine day, they both are celebrating Deva's birthday and Tara has brought a cake for him. A candle is perched on its top. Deva lights it up and blows it away to make a wish. But the candle keeps lighting up again and again automatically, this surprises Deva and Tara falls into a pit of laughter and we see grown up Tara laughing in front of BK recalling the incident. This show is really moving something inside me. It's so heart warming tbh.

37.) Ok. So now they are celebrating BK's b'day and she has a cake-cum-aate-ka-halwa. BK lights up a matchstick and the small speck of fire again ignites that trauma in Tara. Poor girl is traumatized on loosing her only best friend.

38.) Tara and BK think that Deva is dead. And, Badshah has been bought by someone in exchange of lakhon rupiye. Altho, Bhojariya ji had a deal with Tara that she would pay him to keep Badshah in the Sehgal Estate but upon getting a greater amount of money, naturally, Bhojariya Ji sells it.

39.) Tara is heart-broken that she could not keep his only belonging safe and so apologizes to Deva (who she thinks is in heaven) and we are instantly taken to a hilltop where we see a man, also in white. So. Deva. He is alive and probably a reech buzinez man, i think? And, now, the plot is quite predictable, Tara will try to take back Badshah from that 'man' and he will in turn not reveal that he is indeed Deva becoz there is some misunderstanding on both of their side. So. He will try to seek revenge from Tara for what he had to go through in the past. As it is clear from the line, "Bohot jal chuka suraj, ab chaand ko jalna hoga." Wow. What a beautiful parallel tho. (Suraj-Deva and Chaand-Tara and also the title of the story makes a lot more sense now.)

40.) Ok. So. Jalebi reminded me that I did not mention Deva's entry scene. So. Yeah. Deva's entry scene, huh? Wow. Yeah. Sirf. Wow. I had literal goosebumps already and then that drone shot from the hilltop. The teapot hanging above the fire. Lol. What a traditional way to make chai amidst nowhere. Btw where did he get chai ki patti from? And what about chini? Cup? Lol. Banda puri taiyyari ke saath aaya tha. So. Yeah. Amazing scene. Handsome Deva. Beautiful white suit. Already swooning.

Not-so-Fun Fact : Damn this reminds me that I have been chai-deprived since yesterday coz chai was finished and no one in our house(as in me and my parents) were bothered enough to bring it from the general store altho we all were very much bothered for not being able to have a cup of chai. uGh. Whatever.

41.) Wow. Wow. Wow. This show has already started to cast its spell on me, to be honest. And it's just the first episode.

P.S. : So. Yeah. Very beautiful. Very very very beautiful indeed. Cinematography wise. Script wise. Costume wise. Look wise. Everything is perfect for Chaand Jalne Laga. TBH I was underestimating this show but it indeed is beautiful. Please do give it watch. Ok. Then. Bye. God bless you.

We (Me. And Dave. Obviously.) just got a few nights at a crummy little hotel someplace in Vegas. Yay!

We've been here for a few days now, I think. It's been fucking insane. We gambled away all our tokens. I don't think the people we were playing against were too happy that we were using faz-tokens instead of actual money...

But hey, we finally got a real place to sleep instead of a dirty mattress Dave found in an alley. (Why did I agree to that???)

We walk into the room, and other than the fact that it's only got one bed, it's not too shabby. Though, I don't know how fun it'd be to share a bed with this purple shitstain, so I offer to sleep on the floor. Honestly seems like a better option.

He doesn't seem to think so.

"Why would you do that when there's a perfectly good bed right here? C'mon, sportsy, it's not like I have over ten diseases."

"...Y'know, that kinda makes me think you have over ten diseases."

"Don't be silly!!! I'm healthy. Sorta."

Yes. About as healthy as a dead possum. This does not seem like a great idea.

"Don't you think sleeping in the same bed is kinda gay??"

"Nah, not if we're both wearing socks!! Plus, it's not like we're gonna fuck or anything. It's just sleepin'!"

That seems to make him much too happy. I don't like that.

The bed is decently comfortable, for a shitty hotel room. And no roaches! Score! That deserves at least a three star review.

We lay down, (don't worry, we're both wearing socks) getting comfortable. Luckily it's a queen-sized bed, so we don't have to be too close.

Aventuriene is one of my favorite character and a favorite make character. Honestly, I'm not a fan of male HSR characters. I love Luka, but now Aventuriene scored him higher. Blade and Dan Heng are interesting but I don't super love them, I do like em though. At first I dislike Dr. Ratio becouse he seemed to me judgemental, but then I realise I misunderstood him and Penecony even made me love his character. I know that's lots of fans Sino for Jung Yuan and Sunday, but in my opinion they are to overted and I think their design is boring.

Now here is what I love about Aventuriene. At first, I liked his design but I was also neutral to him. I wasn't fan of his personality but after watching the play troughs (since I'm taking a break from playing the game) I changed my mind. I like how realistically Aventuriene is written. I realize that there still others HSR characters written realistically, but honestly Aventuriene is the male character that is written like a real person, and not just as fan service. Of course that's is my personal opinion and I understand if you have the different one.

I genuinely think that Aventurine is probably the best written character in hsr. Since 2.0 it was pretty obvious hoyo handles his character well, the leaks only confirmed it, but holy shit, they did so good in 2.1. They managed to deliver his story and make him sympathetic but without overdoing it to the point when it feels like a tearjerker. Like, you look at him and think "yes, it's a very realistic trauma response. yes, he has a lot of conflicted feelings about pretty much everything, from his religion to his own life and I would probably feel like that too". Honestly I'm so happy Shaoji was the main writer for Penacony arc even if he caused me a lot of stress lmao

I remember the first time I saw Aventurine's design I thought he looks cool. I also remember me and my friend joking that he looks like he's Reigen Arataka coded. I named him mr scammer and all that 💀 People make mistakes okay. Then I learned he's from the IPC and said yeah you lost me here I don't fuck with capitalists. Then the whole "slave" tattoo discussion started and he caught my attention again, then the 2.0 happened and well.

I like the rest of the male cast too tho and for a very long time Gepard was my favorite, so I didn't plan on pulling for Aven since I already have a blonde preservation bbg. Well, things change 💀 I get yiu about Ratio, I wanted to punch him the first time I saw him but like. Affectionately. He was funny af to me. I like the way they handle his character so far tho and I honestly have a lot of thoughts about his arc.

I think the thing with a lot of hsr characters, both male and female, is that we didn't have enough time with them yet. Which is not a bad thing since the story has basically just begun. It may be more noticeable for the male characters since its fewer of them tho. Plus the Lofu storyline was a bit messy in general tbh, I hope they'll handle it better in the future. Since we now have the POV switch mechanic, there are a lot of great opportunities to let us understand the characters better.

What I can reveal is that we are slowly... very slowly heading towards episode 5x11. And after that it will take some time until episode 5x12 follows. You know...weeks. And we haven't even reached three weeks. Almost but not quite yet. So it still takes until 5x12.

She doesn't know what she was expecting. But definitely not this.

Lisa is at the Grizzlies stadium on this beautiful, warm day, watching her son Blake's game. She is sitting next to Genny again. Sometimes all it takes is a few words to know that you like a person and that you'll probably get on well with them. That was the case with Genny. She had watched her for some time at the last Grizzlies home game. It's not that she just watches people. So, she's not a stalker or anything. But she was curious. Ever since Blake told her about a new team member, Tyler. And he never stopped talking about him. Naturally, she didn't manage to extract much information from him. Boys of that age aren't known for being talkative, and they usually don't engage in what Blake dismissively refers to as "stupid adult topics." All she gathered was that there's a Tyler, he's new to the team, and Blake quite likes him—according to Blake himself.

So, sue her, she was curious. The only embarrassing part was that she had automatically assumed the man next to Genny was her husband, not her brother. Surprisingly, neither of them seemed to hold that against her. Since Tyler and Blake share not only baseball and school but also enjoy spending their free time together, and luckily, they live just a few minutes' cycle ride apart, Genny and Lisa had already met in private. As it turns out, Genny is just as divorced from her husband as she is, creating an immediate connection between them.

After discovering that Tim was not Genny's husband but her brother, she subtly slipped in the question of whether he was single. It was a bit embarrassing, but she couldn't resist. After all, who wouldn't seize the opportunity presented by such a handsome man who is also good with children? So, two plus points. However, the topic quickly moved on.

Instead, another topic suddenly arose. And what can she say? She's a divorced woman, with no love life, who loves tearjerkers and cheap romances on television. So, it's only natural that you jump at a story with possible secret dates and a mysterious work colleague. You just take what you can get.

And that's why she's sitting on the bleachers of the Grizzlies game today, eagerly awaiting it to start. Because Genny told her beforehand that Lucy was coming to watch today, with a grin on her face. And she knows exactly what that grin means. Genny hopes to find out what's going on between her brother and his colleague or if there's anything happening between them at all, or if it's all just her imagination and wishful thinking. Or if Tim is dating someone else after all. If he's dating anyone at all. And Genny seems to be generally happy that she's meeting Lucy.

The game has already begun. Tim is sitting next to Genny, as usual, and Mat, Tyler's little brother, is sitting on Tim's lap again. He seems to have a real soft spot for his uncle. She's watching Blake's team play, but she doesn't really know much about baseball; she just knows that the Grizzlies aren't very good. Thanks to Tim, she now understands a bit more about the game. He generally doesn't talk very much. But when she or Genny comment on the game, you can usually get a few words out of him. And what she finds particularly charming about him is that he always finds something good in the Grizzlies bad play. If she understands Tim correctly, the team isn't as bad as the score always suggests. They just lack confidence, are unlucky and make a lot of small mistakes. He seems to know something about the sport. Blake was really enthusiastic about him when he played baseball with Tim and Tyler earlier in the week.

So, she's sitting in the stands, watching the game but keeping an eye on the stairs, waiting for the mysterious Lucy to arrive. Just like Genny, who often doesn't have her eyes on the pitch.

And when there's a mysterious person around whom you don't know, whom you only hear about, then you have a certain idea. And in combination with Tim, who is a bit like Ken doll, she had assumed a kind of Barbie to show up. Slim, blonde, tall, and a bit cool because she is aware of her beauty. She had expected that, probably because she watches too many films.

But then someone approaches her completely unnoticed because she simply comes from the back row and not from the front. Someone she first sees out of the corner of her eye because she passes behind her, and she turns around slightly to see who is walking past. Someone who then puts her hand on Tim's shoulder to lean on him and hop down over the row of seats. Someone who has clearly given his shoulder a quick squeeze before she makes the little jump. Someone who then sits down next to Tim with a beaming smile and a "Hey, sorry I'm late. I overslept. I was on the night shift last night." with a shrug of the shoulders and an apologetic gesture. She wasn't expecting that at all.

And what can she say? She immediately understands why Genny wants Lucy to be Tim's girlfriend. She's a force of nature. Okay, that's weird to think about another woman, but if the shoe fits. There is something special about Lucy, almost like an aura that surrounds her. It's a radiant quality that captivates you, and her kindness comes from deep within. You can sense this within the first three seconds of meeting her, even though that's a very short time to form an impression. However, it's often said that first impressions are crucial, and they're formed within the first few seconds of meeting someone.
