Loki’s Birthday!

You knew Loki wasn’t all too familiar with surprises and so you woke him up with a breakfast plate instead

“happy birthday to you! happy birthday to you!” you sung quietly, walking in with the tray

Loki slowly woke up and saw you and your cute face singing and carrying a tray of food

“good morning my love” he smiled looking at you and sitting up

You sat the plate of food on his lap and gave him a long kiss

“happy birthday my love”

“mhm thank you honey”

“so…what does the birthday boy want to do today?” you asked as you ran your hand up and down his chest

“just want to spend my day with you” he smiled

“we can do that, but remember we have your birthday dinner tonight” Loki groaned, remembering the event

“do we really have to go? I just want to stay here with you” He said as his hand grabbed your chin

“mhm yes my love we have too! your friends are all going to be there” You gave in and kissed him

“really?”

“yes love now go and eat the birthday breakfast i made you” you kissed him once more and went in for a shower

“thank you for cooking my love you know how much I love your food”

“always!” you shouted as you got in the shower

You and Loki got ready for the day since you had about 10 hours to kill before his birthday celebration

“so…what would you like to do today my love?” You asked, placing your arms around his neck

“hmmm you know what? i want to try something a little more…daring” He smiled

“Oh? Like what my dear? I assume this activity is one of Midgardian invention then”

“You could say that…Well Mobius recommended this excellent idea to me!”

“Oh don’t tell me its jet skiing? You know that’s his favourite activity to do.” You say, not really wanting to get wet today

“Oh not that my love…its another activity…just trust me ok?” He pleaded

“Ok ok! I trust you…anything you want today birthday boy”

You followed him…blindly…worse mistake of the day

“LOKI ARE YOU CRAZY?!”

“WHAT? CANT HEAR YOU LOVE” The wind thrashing against you both

“I SAID ARE YOU CRAZY?!”

“OH…YES! I THINK THIS WAS A GREAT BIRTHDAY IDEA”

“IM GOING TO KILL YOU”

“NO YOU WONT YOU LOVE ME!”

“LOKI I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU DROP ME IM GOING TO STAB YOU”

Loki took you skydiving on Midgard and he had an absolute blast while you passed out from fear

“awh come on! did you not enjoy skydiving? its something off both our bucket list!”

You smiled “I know….it was just so sudden…” you sighed… “did you enjoy your activity for the day my love?”

“i did…and I especially liked it because you were with me” He smiled at you and gave a longing kiss

“I love you idiot” you say as you pulled apart

“Love you too my darling” Loki said back. He loved you so much and this day was one of his favourites

“Ok! So…your birthday dinner?”

“Yes! Hmm but how about scuba diving with sharks befo-”

“I don’t want to hear another word of it” You say sternly

“Just joking my love, lets go, I look forward to seeing my friends…and you can get mad at Mobius too”

You smiled “Ok ok I love you…Loki you mean everything to me”

He blushed “And you are the answer to my life my love…i love you.”

who hogs the duvet

Alisha is more used to the comforts of home- including the duvet. Rose doesn’t really mind; she finds it cute when Alisha’s all bundled up in a duvet like a giant squirrel. She just ends up getting another blanket so that she won’t be cold when Alisha hogs the duvet. 

who texts/rings to check how their day is going

Rose isn’t that good communicating over the phone- it’s a hassle to text or call, and she’d rather talk to the person face to face. But Alisha is the type who’d call her immediately the moment she realizes Rose forgot to bring her lunch with her, or when there’s some problem that she just wants to talk to Rose with. At first Rose finds it annoying, something to be tolerated. But as time goes on, she realizes she likes the sound of Alisha’s voice; misses it when they are apart, even if only for a few hours. 

who’s the most creative when it comes to gifts

Alisha tries to be creative; she wants to find something that Rose will love, but Rose has seen so much, found so many things. So she goes out of her way to make her gifts extra special- sporks and flaming wine and all sorts of weird and strange things. Rose finds it all hilarious, but it’s Alisha- every gift she gives her, even if she’s seen it all before, is something special that she treasures. 

who gets up first in the morning

Alisha is a creature of habit and schedule. She rises with the dawn for her morning training- but there are mornings when Rose is waiting for her when she wakes, arms crossed and a moody frown on her face, staring off into the distance. Dressed all in black, her sheathed blades lying carefully at one side. It’s on days like those that Alisha suggests Rose joins her for a morning jog; makes it a point never to ask what it is that bothers Rose. It’s not that she doesn’t want to know, but there are some things that Rose will tell her when she’s ready. 

who cries at movies

Despite how uptight and stoic Alisha can be at times, she’s always the first to tear at any emotional moment, to swoon in the romance dramas. Rose finds it all very amusing, and usually makes sure she packs tissues whenever Alisha drags her off to watch the latest heartwarming film of the month.

who gives unprompted massages

Alisha’s upbringing is formal and stiff, based on ritual politeness and tradition. When they first met, she’d never so much as touch Rose without asking for permission. So when Rose gives her an unprompted massage one day after a long day at work, it catches her by surprise. She didn’t stop Rose though- it’s relaxing, good for her muscles, and, though she wouldn’t say it aloud, Rose is a pretty damn good masseuse. 

who fusses over the other when they’re sick

Rose is used to being self-sufficient, even when she’s sick. That’s why it surprises her whenever Alisha shows up with medicine in hand and hot soup in a thermos the moment she tells her she’s sick. With her careful upbringing and everything she’s been taught, Alisha seems to know every little thing that could go wrong with any illness- even the flu- and is extremely determined that Rose doesn’t go that way. Rose is usually too weak-willed to protest and doesn’t mind it- she likes it when Alisha takes care of her, and her presence is a comfort in her fevered delirium. 

who gets jealous easiest

For Alisha, flirtatious banter is part of maneuvering in politics. For Rose, it’s something she’d rather not have to deal with- to see men flirting with her Alisha, to give her princess those smarmy predatory smiles that sends chills down her spine. Alisha can handle herself, and it doesn’t mean anything when she responds politely back. Rose knows this, but that doesn’t stop the spike of jealousy each time it happens, nor the savage relief that Rose feels when Alisha complains about the party afterwards.  

who has the most embarrassing taste in music

Rose is actually alright with mostly any music- travelling around as much as she does, she’s picked up an appreciation for just about anything. But she’ll never get over the fact that nearly every song Alisha knows somehow comes from an opera. Not when it’s such a good point to tease. 

who collects something unusual

It’s not as though Alisha’s gullible, but she’s very intrigued by the little trinkets and charms she comes across in the strange little cultural shops. Rose tries to tell her most of them are tourist traps with outrageous prices, but whenever Alisha brings her some newfangled bracelet with the biggest grin on her face, Rose just can’t find the heart to tell her the truth. 

who takes the longest to get ready

The nature of Rose’s life is quick-paced and she’s used to getting ready fast. Alisha isn’t bad, usually, but there are days when she has to dress up for functions and that takes a while. Still, catching a glimpse of Alisha all prettied up in her finest clothes always makes the wait worth it, Rose thinks. 

who is the most tidy and organised

Alisha’s meticulous in how she organizes her things. Which makes living with Rose a bit of a nightmare when the assassin-turned-Shepherd traipses in with her muddy boots and dumps her bags all over the place. She wails and moans and Rose tries to clean up, but no matter how hard she does, it’s never quite perfect. It’s okay, though. She’s starting to appreciate the little bit of chaos Rose brings into her life. Even if she works extremely hard to scrub the mud off her carpets. 

who gets most excited about the holidays

Alisha loves holidays- or rather, loves celebrating holidays with Rose. She’s used to her traditional role as the princess during the holiday celebrations, but she’s never had someone to spend time with- to celebrate love and life and happiness with. And Rose- Rose is so easily caught up by the festive cheer that it makes their holidays incredibly fun and full of laughter. 

who is the big spoon/little spoon

Alisha is usually the big spoon because she likes it when she can hold Rose close- to know that Rose isn’t sneaking off to murder someone tonight. For her part, being the little spoon is strangely comforting to Rose. To have someone like Alisha holding her- someone who’d never hurt her, who loves her- it makes her feel the safest she’s ever been. 

who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sports

Rose doesn’t think she’s that competitive, but oh boy Alisha has a competitive streak that rivals only Mikleo’s. And when Alisha has her eyes set on making sure Rose eats her words for something or other, she’s not going to stop until she wins. (Rose has to convince herself she lets Alisha win; it’d be too much for her pride to ever really concede the princess beats her fair and square most days.) 

who starts the most arguments

It’s hard to tell. They both come from different backgrounds, and sometimes their views on morality or life or politics just clash. They fight fiercely and sometimes it ends up with both of them in tears, but it just takes one person to say ‘sorry’ and soon they’re back in each others’ arms. 

who suggests that they buy a pet

Rose doesn’t like how lonely Alisha’s smiles are when they have to leave, so she suggests buying a pet to keep Alisha company when she’s gone. THAT SAID SHE DOESN’T LIKE IT WHEN ALISHA NAMES THE DOG ‘Rose’ AND IT FOLLOWS HER AROUND AND IS SO AFFECTIONATE THAT IT ALMOST BUTTS ROSE (the person) OUT OF THE BED THE TIMES THAT ROSE IS ACTUALLY HOME– 

what couple traditions they have

It’s not much of a tradition, but every few years they go on a pilgrimage of sorts back to where Sorey sleeps. The path is old, the memories familiar, and every time they go- they remember how different their original journey was, full of half-truths and uncertain words. How even then, they still relied on one another- forged a bond that couldn’t so easily be broken. 

what tv shows they watch together

Alisha really likes daytime soap operas. Rose finds them over-acted, tedious, and not… very good. But she finds it hilarious to watch them with Alisha, pointing out how absurd the story is while Alisha wails at her and flings pillows in her direction. 

what other couple they hang out with

it would have been nice for them to hang out with Sorey and Mikleo :’) 

how they spend time together as a couple

They don’t spend a lot of time together- much of their time is spend travelling the world for their own separate duties. So when they can, they bundle themselves at home and actually just… spend time together. Talk to one another. Relearn who it is that they love. And sometimes Rose brings Alisha out to dinner in a slightly-fancy-but-not-too-fancy restaurant and they just enjoy being themselves in each others’ company. 

who made the first move

Rose, despite how brash and forward she usually is, was reluctant to commit to anything at the start. But how could she deny her feelings when Alisha stepped up to her, fire in her eyes, and declared that she loved her? 

who brings flowers home

It’s extremely cheesy, but there are days when Alisha brings back a bouquet of roses for Rose. Rose thinks it’s an incredibly bad pun on her name, but at the same time, she always takes care to pot the flowers and sometimes finds herself staring at them with a wry smile on her face. 

who is the best cook

Alisha may have eaten some of the finest foods Hyland could provide, but making those foods is something Rose has better experience with, much to Alisha’s happy surprise.
