So here I am, talking with my life partner about how I'm somewhat dissatisfied with the way some social movements (in particular the LGBT+ and Women's rights) are managed and how, while they have their hearts in the right place the execution is sometimes done poorly, which has lead to - in my opinion - a sad regression done in the progress of several areas in dire need of improvement.
My focus was on how they're done in the Western-anglosphere where I'm inclined to say they've reached a peak point where it should become less bloated and more laser-guided on how to promote causes and work for the better of marginalized people. Other spheres like Eastern Europe, Middle East and SEA could still benefit from the 'love bombing' approach of "All Representation is Good Representation" - without becoming too overbearing as I feel it has become - so as the population slowly shifts their paradigm to provide minorities better understanding and the opportunities they need while also having in mind their historical and cultural differences.
And then there's LATAM. Born and Raised in Mexico myself, I concluded jokingly that the approach should be to show just how equally miserable they are in regards to 'normal people'.
"Oh, so like a Telenovela?" my partner said, a little imaginary lightbulb popping on his head. I had recently been feeding him Funny or die videos about the utter ridiculousness of 90s telenovelas from Televisa where the plots are so convoluted and bizarre you really have to see to believe it. Despite how different their plot can be, they often - if not always - follow these notes:
Main protag is a poor and/or an orphan woman who suffers due to their social/race class.
Suddenly stumbles with a once in a lifetime opportunity - usually a rich family - that could make her life better.
Some bitch - usually female - can't stand the girl protag and makes her life miserable.
Destined protag lover is a beefcake that will be fought over like a trophy (extra points if he is in fact the bitch on the earlier bullet).
Car explosions, poisoning, lost or stolen kids, death in the family, falling from the stairs. . .
The protag, despite the odds, succeeds and obtains her happy ending. Main antagonist explodes, dies or is institutionalized due to the crazy shit that went through this whole ordeal.
And so, it is with this utter ridiculousness in mind that we started developing what I think might be the BEST way to promote LGBT+ normalization in LATAM.
Ladies, Gentlemen and all in between, I would like to present to you a 'modern audiences' version of the Prince and the Pauper, Telenovela edition:
El Principe y El Méndigo
Una Telenovela para audiencias modernas.
Por Da Mangaka.

PLEASE INCEPTION ROBERT IS ACTUALLY SO HOT AND THERES SO MUCH TO WORK WITH
…honestly i thought you already had watched it and robert wasn’t just your cup of cillian tea.
could you imagine i think in that universe Eva is apart of Cobb’s team, a very capable con-woman but you know everyone needs a retirement plan… and while all’s said and done Eva is just implanting little seeds of attraction so that when Robert meets her in “real life” she’s literally the woman of his dreams.
Eva is just trampling over all the other social climbers and wealthy elite to get the ultimate bag, becoming Mrs Fischer (no pre-nup much to the dismay of the other Fischers) (it’s okay tho bc Eva has no qualms of ever getting divorced).
Up until we got streaming, we only had what was on in telemundo or televisa (i live right on the border so nothing works and cable didn't get into our neighborhood until i was like 14)
I'm super behind lol, so this is based on what i found on google.
I think Eva would've married him for a green card, being rich af herself she wouldn't give a shit about his money but she wouldn't mind taking the company and adding it to Riley and Arambula lol.
His family sees through it and he does tonsome extent, but Eva has his wrapped around her finger and she has a thing for secretly pathetic men.
She could have been part of Cobbs team, but she uses it for wiping out competitors and do damage control.
May be the reason Robert has some defense in his mind and sure he gives into the inception, but only cuz Eva ordered a hit on Saito in revenge and the company wasn't truly dissolved, Robbie just gave it to Eva before they got onto the plane.

can i just say some of the social media memes and even legit journalists articles about giselle zarur's hosting of red bull's livery reveal are so shitty and offensive? she's originally from mexico; english is not her first language. she's done tons of official f1 reporting for latin american fans. she was using the spanish pronunciation of daniel's name, not mocking him or calling him a slur. i won't even get into the "learn english!" comments because those assholes should just work on being better people. she started covering f1 on televisa before daniel even started his first f1 race. for all the people talking about how we need more women figures and representation in f1, i don't think doubting the knowledge and skills of a super experienced and valued reporter simply because she didn't pronounce a driver's name in the way european and australian fans are used to is going to accomplish that.
honestly fucking hate those type of people, like sorry f1 is a INTERNATIONAL sport with people from all over the globe and different cultures watching and reporting
not everyone is going to speak perfect english and that’s fucking okay

exactly! besides timothee stans are acting like she did it yesterday or on her own accord for halloween or something, they're completely ignoring everyting on purpose. there's people saying "i'm 15 and i know better" and that's great, but to be that age 15 years go was very different too? most latinxs defending eiza aren't even saying forgive her for what happened, we're saying it consider the circumstances around it and her present behavior instead of saying "she's racist" in 2020. you know?
we have gotten a lot of asks about this, so I’m going to try and answer most of them in this ask.
to this answer, let’s read what eiza said:
As a 15-year-old child actor on my first job in a Mexican telenovela, I was pressured against my will, and with no negotiating power, I could not advocate for myself in the situation.
like, she had no agency to choose what she wanted to do. its not like she was a popular comedian doing it to mock black people (i’m pretty sure both of the late night jimmys have done blackface...). she was fifteen. she felt pressured. she didn’t know how to speak up.
it was a mistake, a terrible mistake, and she is apologizing for it.
the circumstances are very important here. one of the asks mentioned ted danson doing it in the 90′s.... he was blasted for doing that, people reacted to it, during the roast and in the press after. it wasn’t normal.
timothee stans are saying they expect him to find out about eiza's past and dump her, they're flooding his instagram comments, eiza had to close her comments, they're saying they want HIM to publicly acknowledge eiza's past (???), they're saying they're disappointed that he's dating a racist, they're blaming ONLY HER for the recent candids that have been released. and again even when they find out the truth, they don't delete the tweets. they're letting the rumors spread on purpose.
its funny how they are centering a blackface incident around a white man and the fact he needs to be pure and woke and immediately dumb her. i went on her tag today, and there is definetly a vibe of “OUR BEAUTIFUL WHITE BOY MUST IMMEDIATELY DUMP THIS HORRIBLE DIRTY MEXICAN. HE SHOULD KNOW BETTER!!! WE KNOW HE IS INTELLIGENT AND WELL EDUCATED, SO HOW COULD HE!” when like... three years ago he agreed to work with woody allen. and sure, he gave his paycheck to a charity, but the fact he even accepted...
if they wanna claim he was just starting out and it was an opportunity for him... they also gotta understand eiza was fifteen, pressured, and didn’t have space to advocate for herself.
the white double standard is...
Um, I don't think many Mexicans cared or even knew who Ted Danson was so it probably flew over their heads. Are you thinking that the blackface incident with Eiza happened in the US and that she should have always been aware of how deeply offensive it is? Because it actually happened in Mexico with a telenovela produced by Televisa (media monopoly) who often pushes problematic content and whitewashes everything they can and she was 15 and dumb like most Mexicans are when it comes to race lol :/
like... guys, thirty rock, a show that I believe aired less than 20 years ago, had to pull I believe four episodes from its catalogue because of blackface.
the producers should have known better. the writers, everyone involved in it. i wish eiza had felt comfortable to speak up and not do it, but sadly it was not the case.
while blackface isn’t as large a thing in latin countries as it is in the united states, its still something we end up learning about eventually. i dislike the insinuation (not of this particular anon, but of the general content of the inbox) that absolves all latinx from blame because “they don’t know any better”.
the writers knew what they were doing. they were being racist.
and now timmy fans are also being racist... they are trying to make this whole thing about him, they are trying to destroy her career, they are harassing her. and we all know its not because of blackface, its because of their fav white boy dating a latina.

Let's Discuss: Matiego
Is Matiego Canon? Is it queerbait? Do you think they deserved better? Do you ship them?
One of the questions some people in the fandom have been asking since ECNSE ended it's about Diego and Mateo's relationship because the finale episode wasn't clear of that. Today one of the writers of the story said this
Tumblr media
Translation:
- So, It's Matiego queerbait?
- Not really
- So?
- Since the beginning we knew Matiego was endgame but for various reasons it (the relationship) ended up being vague
Tumblr media
So, Let's add Matiego to the list of things ECNSE could have done better if it wasn't for Osorio and Televisa :))
My personal opinion on this is that I don't ship Matiego that hard, I like them and that's it, but seeing this is really sad. As I said I'm not fan of them together as I didn't like Mateo that much. I think the story of how they felt in love was rushed, as everything in ECNSE. I still think they definitely deserved better that the few scenes we got in the series, maybe that's the reason I really never got to ship them. But the fact that it was part of the story that we'll never see because of, I assume, Osorio and Televisa, it's really shitty. Matiego deserved better than that!!
Maybe we could have had two power mlm couples but now we'll never know
I understand most of the people would disagree with me as they were actually cute together but idk, my shipper never came out with them. (Don't kill me)
If you want, you can tell me your opinion :) I would like to see other people point of view

LISTEN .. I Don't make the rules BUT...
I'm backkkkkk lol.
'Sup Juliantina Kru, Its been a while!
After some (hilarious, unkowningly and partially self induced) technical difficulties with my internet I can finally get back to the world wide web...and here I was ready to check on this cool-non-problematic-usually-pretty-chill fandom only to find ....DRAMAAAAAA!? XD.
Tumblr media
For real tho, its been literally less than a month, and I checked out for a bit right after the AMM Awards Extravaganza only to come back and find:
People freaking out due to some missed interactions between Maca and Barb on social media?
People getting offended because some of the big accounts were bringing back tweets from the past (My personal fave was Barbara's TITANIC one, I laughed a good 5 mins with that one?) since I do most of the Spanish side of things on Twitter I honestly think its a cultural difference situation?
It was totally harmless and just for the LOLs? Im SURE they would never get offended, they'd probably have a good laugh at it themselves. This kind of teasing (that could be seen as bullying by some people) is quite normal in Latin countries tbh, as long as its CLEAR is NOT meant in a mean spirited way its all good really?
Also people comparing the way they both interact with the fandom and implying there's racism involved as to why people "pick favorites"???
Tumblr media
I honestly think its more of an EXTROVERTED / INTROVERTED kinda thing, I've said it in the past MACA is wayyyy more at ease when public speaking (other than her naturally outgoing personality she has A LOT more experience than Barbs on this front, she started her career as a MTV HOST!) While Barb still clearly struggles with this, thats why her best interviews are with Maca: she gets to be at ease and doesn't feel the pressure of carrying the interview on her own, go and check their RAZE interview (one of their first ones btw) for a perfect demonstration of this, she's simply more reserved and shy and I get why people would gravitate to Maca's more eloquent persona a bit more (myself included?, and If anyone would imply its because of any racial motivation I'd honestly laugh at it TBH).
I still believe most people adore them both, just for different reasons and thats OK? Barbara does love the fans and does go out of her way to engage with them (yesterday's IG live was one of the nicest fan interactions I've EVER seen, she's truly a sweetheart with the fandom) she just does it in a more reserved, one-on-one way as we saw yesterday.
Well that's all I came across on the drama front, and those were my DOS CENTAVOS (pesos? lol) on it, now on to other news:
____________________________________________________________________
Maca-NO-LABELS-Achaga's Fandom exploding photoshoot (and people theorizing if she came out or not) this is hilarious to me, she does everything to tell people to stop labelling her (and themselves) and people STILL keep doing it ...lol.
I TRIED to read the actual magazine (which is pretty surreal? Its something right outta a Welcome To Nigthvale magazine stand tbh) but the page layouts were so bad I couldn’t actually finish the articles? lol I tried, sorry XD.
Time Square Size Spin-Off showcases (oh and she totally indirectly confirmed it btw ....TOLD YA its happening)
Celestial bodies literally named after them... people buying telescopes in ...3..2..1 XD
I mean, at this point just let the fandom crowfund the spin-off and it'll get done in a month, just sayin'.
Also on the Español side of things, they crowfunded a Billboard for Juliantina in Mexico City (for a WHOLE month) I think? that was the surprise they didn't wanna reveal to Barbara on yesterday's IG live, which brings me to...
Barbara's IG Live yesterday was so nice! She (at least to me) also indirectly CONFIRMED the Spin-off is totally happening ..she asked for PATIENCE...remember that IG post she posted like 2 days after the show ended that said something like "The Wait" ...They've KNOWN about a Spin-off prob happening even before the Novela ended IMO.
I think they want it to be BIG, i'm talking INTERNATIONAL big so that takes time, the other guys they usually get compared to (gurl bye) got a Spin-off and like a theater play I think...but all on a LOCAL level, If Televisa had to negotiate distribution rights with let's say .....NETFLIX that would take a little more time and that's what I believe is happening at the moment.
Also Youtubers reacting to Juliantina...some have been better than others, I personally aprecciate the ones that actually take their time to research what the fuck they're reacting to instead of "OMG Girls making out" but hey, that's just me! lol.
I've said it before, I believe Juliantina's MAINSTREAM AF appeal comes from their story being so ORGANIC, WELL PACED and actually DEVELOPED, do you know who I'd actually LOVE to see reacting to this!? Grandmas lol, get me all those ABUELA reactions PLEASE!!!
Tumblr media
Also Maca asking people to make reaction vids? I'm just gonna go stare at my Recaps that they'll probably never read, Oh well MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I think that's it for MY Juliantina AAM News Update? Anything else I should know feel free to let me know LOL.
K, Thanks Bye :)

We even got the signature "Val shoulder lean and smiling Juliana" for a personal touch and just in case anyone missed it. Also is not the first gay commercial Magnum does, I aint that surprised, they've always been good like that. I mean it is amazing for Mexico, but Magnum is big enough to pull it off/get away with it
I SAW. It was so cute.
You’re right, they’ve done it before, in Australia, where there was a backlash and it was reported to media watchdogs. And then they did one in Mexico (albeit, obviously less overt but still undeniable for anyone who’s aware of pop culture).
After Televisa’s splashing Juliantina around online and news sites picking up on it and interviewing them, this is the next major step in proving their popularity. The first things, you can say that they were looking for some easy hits and the novelty factor, but this is pure capitalism, Magnum wouldn’t have picked them if they didn’t think they’d be worth it.

ARISTEMO TV SHOW
This video was uploaded to the youtube channel “Las Estrellas”. An official Televisa channel.
They’re talking about the end of Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia in a couple of months and what Juan Osorio (the producer) has to say about this.
Translation:
“ (…) he announced that after finishing this project, he’ll begin a series, in which his son, Emilio Osorio,  will be the protagonist with the same character he has developed in this melodrama, where the objective will be the inclusion of different sexual orientations”.
Juan Osorio: (…) a pilot for a tv show about the Aristemos will be done. It’ll be about their lives outside the novela. So… the scripts are already being worked on.
Emilio Osorio (Aristóteles Córcega): We also thank the fans because without them this idea wouldn’t have been born, and… nothing. It’s a great responsability for Joaquin and for me.
It is confirmed. Aristemo will have their own tv show.
I just want to say that this means so much to me and to many mexican people, these are great news. I want to cry.
I’m not sure if I said everything I know but if someone has any questions, just ask! :) <3</p>

Since Amar A Muerte is coming to an end tomorrow (Hopefully we get a spin off or second season), I need to vent:
Valentina Carvajal: Shes the kindest person on the planet. She deserves all the best in the world. She lost her mom at a young age, and by what we’ve seen, her dad wasn’t around much so I can see why she’s the way she is. She took her dads death the hardest, tho she admitted she didn’t really see him much while he was alive. She struggles with drug and alcohol, and since she doesn’t really have any parental support she finds a way to deal with her problems by drinking. She’s been through a lot, but she always manages to bounce back. With Juliana she’s allowed to be herself, allowed to feel, allowed to love unconditionally. She finally finds meaning in her life. We can see growth thought the novela. She’s a fighter.
Juliana Valdés: she had a tough childhood, and asshole of a father and she had to grow up at an early age. She grew up give abuse and had to see her mom put up with her dads behavior. She then meets Valentina and her life also changes. She meets someone who believes in her, who supports her and someone who wants the best for her. We can see how guarded she is, she’s not the best at showing her emotions, or at least letting her feelings for Vale be known. At Guilles party se can see how badly she wants Valentina. But she doesn’t do anything cause our sweet Val is high. We can see how uncomfortable she is at the whole situation. She eventually does allow herself to feel and to be okay with what she’s feeling. The whole Sergio situation made me love and respect her even more. Her mom was homophobic towards her, always made her feel less and guilty just for loving a girl. The whole” como sabes que te gustan las mujeres si nunca has estado con un hombre” is the most common reaction I hear from the people I’m around, so yes people, I completely understand why Juliana made that decision. But she was also not in a good place; she kept fighting with her mom, she thought Valentina and Lucho were getting back together and lastly, Sergio giving her alcohol. He wasn’t being very helpful, he took advantage of the situation, he knew that to say. We all saw how much she regretted her decision, but she needed that for her, to be at peace. She was kidnapped right after sleeping with Sergio so I think the “death lady” probably wanted some karma. So Juliana, thank you for existing. I saw my younger self reflected in her struggles.
Eva Carvajal: my sweet Eva, such a fun character. Can you guys imagine how different she would be if Leon would’ve allowed her to follow her dreams?! She’s one character I will never hate. We can see in her some of Leon’s character traits. She’s controlling, cares about what people think, she’s ambitious, tough and very hard to please. But we can see how much she cares for Guille and Valentina. We can also see how much she cares for Mateo. In a way I feel like she stayed with “El Alacrán” to protect everyone around her. She made it very clear that hurting Mateo physically was never allowed. Cause emotionally she did all that by herself. She’s also not your usual novela antagonist, which was a really nice surprise. Her only problem was being so fed up with her dads constant disapproval that she got involved with a drug dealer. But Eva is a character worth saving.
Lucia Borges: She also had a tough childhood. The worst one of all the characters. She was raped and abused though out her life. I honestly hope she doesn’t die or end up in jail and hated by everyone in the Carvajal family. She wasn’t aware of Johnny’s intention to kill Leon, though she did find out and never turned him in. But she’s also a character who deserves a good ending, a sense of hope. She wasn’t evil or hateful. She was manipulated and all she wanted was to be happy. She’s a god step mom to Guille and Valentina, even Eva at times. I really hope the family understands her and forgives her.
Leon Carvajal: wasn’t the best father, he cared more for his company than his kids. He gets a second chance and his priority is to get revenge on Lucia and Johnny. Not once does he care for how his children felt even tho he can see them suffering. The fact that it took him until Guilles party to learn that Valentina was an alcoholic and used drugs doesn’t really speak highly if him. He also made Eva give up her dreams just so she could live up to his expectations algo doesn’t speak highly of him. Eva was right to call him out on why he waited so long to tell them who he really was. He got a second chance and he still didn’t prioritize his family. So, I’m not a fan of his.
Johnny Corona: “Mi Niño” that’s all I have to say about him. Hope he rots in jail.
Amar A Muerte: All I can say is that this novela made me really happy. I cried, I laughed and I learned in the way. Which is funny cause it’s just a novela. But the way they wrote it. The way the actors portrayed their characters was really refreshing. We also got Juliantina 💕 I honestly never thought I was going to see a lesbian couple from my country on a novela from Televisa. I was blown away by how amazing their storyline was. The representation was so authentic, both Macarena and Bárbara are truly amazing. They interact with us, laugh at what some of the fans post. I will always be thankful for this project and for everyone who had a role in making this possible.
I’m done venting, this post doesn’t make any sense anymore. Sorry.

Interview with MJ Songstress
We had the pleasure of interviewing MJ Songstress over Zoom video!  Fort Lee, New Jersey vocal powerhouse MJ Songstress recently released the music video for her new single "Carousel”. The first thing you're likely to notice is the intoxicating beat, an unmistakable sonic signature with a mid-range thump, “Carousel” is a sensual, immersive and propulsive bop, designed to pick you up and whirl you around into carefree, spiritual existentialism. It’s a song that’s guaranteed to fill the dance floor, and one that will surely put you in the mood for new love. If all there was to "Carousel" was its engaging sound, it would still be well worth spinning. But MJ Songstress isn't just about visceral thrills, she's also an experienced composer and multi-instrumentalist with a deep understanding of musical composition. She's given us a song that would sound just as good if it was presented on solo piano as it would bumping out of the speakers at one of NYC’s legendary nightclubs or London’s Vauxhall scene. She's pushing toward an unprecedented fusion of pop, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and Latin music – one that represents everywhere she's been and everywhere she's determined to go. Although she has already accomplished a lifetime of achievements, she is not one to press pause. She's been a successful contestant on televised singing competitions on both sides of the border. MJ Songstress was part of Team Usher and a Top 20 finisher on the sixth season of NBC's The Voice, and she was a finalist on Televisa's La Voz México. In her career, she's worked with legends: Swizz Beatz, Nile Rodgers and CHIC, Wyclef Jean, A.B. Quintanilla y Los Kumbia All-Starz, to name a few. "Carousel" is the culmination of all the work she's done so far, and it's likely to appeal to anybody wishing to be swept away by love. In addition to her compositional talents, MJ Songstress is also a skilled dancer, and for the music video for “Carousel” director Sage Love chose to highlight MJ’s natural grace in the video." The star is a stunning presence onscreen, and wherever the camera finds her – a swimming pool, a club, on a balcony overlooking the city skyline – she looks simultaneously natural and radiant. Astutely, Sage Love distresses and fades some of the footage and gives the entire clip the feel of a rapturous dream. MJ Songstress dances through it with a smile, elusive and alluring, beckoning the viewer to get to know her better. We want to hear from you! You're 100% right...
I'm just hoping that since the series is from Netflix, they'll eventually give us a nice, romantic storyline between them.. Even if we have to endure a long season 3 of homophobic comments from Secondary characters and "confused" phases from both of them.. I'm just hoping for the best...
Imagine if this was televisa or TV azteca, we wouldn't have gotten that finale kiss and their relationship would be used as a comic relief or something done for revenge...
I’ve just finished season 2 of madre solo hay dos and I have many thoughts:
- ana servin is definitely a lesbian and she has so much internalized homophobia that she needs to work through (the look of disgust when MULTIPLE ppl call her a lesbian sjsj)
- mariana going from I love u to I think I just admire u a lot to still possibly having feelings for Pablo to falling in love with ferran….who wrote this
- the LACK of ana and mariana scenes were criminal they spent most of the season hating each other for what?? It was so dumb
-the last episode is the only thing that I felt was a complete and good episode in moving the ana and mariana storyline forward if that’s what they’re trying to do
- fake dating to in love for season 3 (if they even get renewed cus let’s be honest this season was fucking terrible idk what the writers were doing like if y’all could write this and get on Netflix I def could do it too) is gonna be so good

REVEREND JOSÉ talks about Church
Salomon Maya (REVEREND JOSÉ) - Regional acting credits: San Diego REP: Beachtown (Benny Ramos-Leibowitz); Manifest Destinitis (Tomas), u/s: Honky, Federal Jazz Project, In the Time of the Butterflies; La Jolla Playhouse: El Henry (Mago); OnStage Playhouse: Coyote on a Fence (Sam); Point Loma Playhouse: A Permanent Image (Bo). Regional playwrighting credits: Splitting Adam; Gridlock and The Mudanza (Teatro Punto y Coma); anomaly.exe (Scripps Ranch Theatre: Out on a Limb). Salomon currently works as Creative Director for Televisa San Diego/Tijuana, a monthly columnist for L’CHAIM San Diego Magazine and a board member of the NTC Foundation at Liberty Station. Up next for Salomon will be the narco-comedy world premiere of Herbert Sigüenza’s Bad Hombres/Good Wives at the San Diego REP in October.
Tell us about yourself…
Proud to say I was born, raised, and have lived my entire life in San Diego (with the exception of the two years I lived in Los Angeles trying to make it as a Stand-Up, as you can see, I sucked). My current "normal" job is being the Creative Director for a firm representing local Spanish language TV station Televisa (channel 12). My daily duties include producing morning show segments showcasing this amazing city I call home. I love writing and consider myself a much better writer than an actor. When not working on TV I try to spend as much time with my family. Especially watching Pixar movies with my three year old mini-me, Jacob.
What interested you about "CHURCH"?
It's my opinion that we live in precarious times. Today, so-called leaders have abused the power of "words" by plastering them on social media and denigrated the basic function of a well constructed sentence. When I first read Church by Young Jean Lee I was floored by how beautifully written it was. And as an actor, to be able to say these amazingly well written paragraphs made me feel all the feels. Furthermore I fell in love with the fact that the text causes the audience to feel something as well, whether that be confusion, anger, discomfort, or all of the above. Isn't that what GOOD theatre is about? Church will 100% guaranteed make the audience feel. You will not just "go see" the show. You will question. You will squint your eyes and tilt your head and possibly ask yourself if you just heard what you think you just heard.
How are you preparing for this production? Tell us about your rehearsal process...
This is the first show I have done which is very monologue heavy. When labeling myself as an actor, I always liked slapping typical monikers on me like "character actor" or "prefers realistic dialogue." After reading Church, I won't lie, I was petrified. After getting cast, my anxiety went through the roof. I kept questioning my decision as to how to not only memorize so many words but how to make it sound like I was real, and not some wannabe regurgitating lines. In the end, and sorry to sound corny, it just took faith. Faith in me as an actor with a full time job, full time family, full time life to be able to memorize and furthermore, emote that very same faith José has in God onto the stage. In the end, there isn't much of a difference between me, a Mexican-Jewish born actor, and Reverend José, an incredibly spiritual Christian preacher. We both love putting mirrors in front of all who stand before us.
Why CHURCH?
Why Church? Because I didn't believe. I never did. I always felt people of faith were weak who yearned to be coddled and protected by an invisible boogie man who tended to hate more than he loved. All of that changed on August 20th, 2015. I became a father for the first time. And seeing my son breathe for the first time, and then move, and then drool, and then eat, and then (of course) poop, and then talk, and then grow...and today. There's nothing I believe in more than the power of the almighty. Not the one we read about in books or hear about from old wives tales. But the one that can make me love my son so unconditionally...that is why I believe. That is why...Church.

Cibernetico TV Feuds Ciber vs Pato Zambrano
Tumblr media
Hostess: Since when has there been such a relationship with Poncho Denigris?
Pato: Hello, first of all hello, since we were both in Big Brother. I can tell you he is an outstanding person.
Hostess: But you fought a lot in the house?
Pato: We did fight a lot, but we became brothers and let me tell you this. It is not necessary to know how to dance. (Poncho was on a dancing with the stars show and struggling in the competition at the time)
With the heart that man possesses and the effort he has put in to that show is another thing. (Ciber starts making faces at the camera of disgust and shock) Why does that idiot have to be making faces!!!
Ciber: Just a couple things Pato. I don't want anything with you. I am going to state some things and ask you to respond after. Is that cool?
Pato: OK. Do it.
Ciber: When a cow shits. How much of it does come out? A little or a lot?
Pato: You are such a low class person.
Ciber: No, I'm serious.
Pato: GO BACK TO THE CIRCUS!! LET ME GIVE YOU YOUR 500 PESOS AND GO WRESTLE!
Ciber: Answer me. [YELLING MATCH BEGINS]
Pato: Stop injecting because it's drying up your brain.
Ciber: Hey, I am talking to you..idiot. Does the cow make a little or a lot?
Host demands Ciber get to the point.
Ciber: It's because a cow makes a lot of shit. He is talking and everything he says is shit.
Pato: Your mother would be ashamed of you. No disrespect.
Ciber: Listen to him. He has attacked me and my sport. If you try to get in my face, I will rip your head off.
Pato: I am not Kawaghi brother.
Ciber: Your a clown. I will do whatever I want with you.
Pato:  I am not Kawaghi. I would mess your face up. Don't play with me.
Ciber: You and Poncho Denigris are cut from the same cloth. You guys are scumbags who are only famous for sleeping with an old lady..La Tigresa. And stealing her money. So that makes you an embarrassment for the entire television union. You are only generating publicity off of me.
La Tigresa is an elderly woman that was famous for acting and singing in the 70′s. Now from her accumulated wealth she is what is to be socially considered a sugar momma. She has had several relationships with younger men and was a senator in the 90′s
Tumblr media
Pato: Why you gotta bring Poncho into this? You are inflated like a frog from all the steroids you abuse.
Ciber: You guys are nobodies. Know you place boy. You are nobody. A piece of shit in the street.
Lets get this interview back on track and give Pato the respect he deserves.
Ciber: To that piece of shit sitting there? No. He is a piece of shit from the bottom of my shoe. I've never seen shit that talks.
(Ciber continues to yell over everyone)
Look at him all messy looking. Just like on Big Brother. Being a lazy bastard. Exactly like the fucking show.
Pato: I am about to walk off.
Ciber: Then hurry and get the fuck out of here. Go over to (names another show like this) because that's where you sold you story. Your story about failing at wrestling. Go there and sell it.
Pato: Hey, anytime you want. I will wrestle you and pay your 500 peso payday.
Ciber: It would be good to give a haircut because you need it.
Host: NOW let's get to the real topic here. Poncho Denigris.
Ciber: Who? Poncho Denigris is the most boring person in the world. I could care less. People would criticize the way I move, but this fool has 2 left feet. Same with this idiot here.
Pato: But mine are real. Yours are injected.
Ciber: Oh yes. You are getting fierce now (paws hands like a cat)
Host tries to calm the interview down
Ciber: Please that person doesn't deserve any respect. He sold that story to the other show. You people should know better. Stop living in a fantasy.
The question at hand is Poncho Denigris
Ciber: But what are we going to say about Poncho? That he's bad at dancing? That he has two left feet? That he has beaver teeth? That he has an idiot face? Lets not talk about that right now.
Let us talk about my leg (Ciber starts to stick his foot in the camera) My foot?
Hostess: What is going on with you Ciber?
Ciber: Maybe the concert that I went to.
What are you doing?
Ciber: Poncho Denigris? scoffs
Hostess: Yes. We are talking about him and how he is a valuable asset to the entertainment world as well as Pato Zambrano.
Ciber: Oh that guy is still alive?
What are they famous for? I have a 15 year career in wrestling. A world champion that has wrestled all over the world. What have those two done? Why are they famous? What is their curriculum?
(Hostess ignores Ciber and brings back Pato)
Pato: Big Brother has been the most viewed show in Mexican TV history. Televisa called me to be part of the third series and I returned. So that is what I've done and I am not here to be fighting with such a low class person that is talking about excrement.
He is talking about a cow and insulting me. He is attacking me.
Why do you have an attitude with him? Have you known him from somewhere?
Pato: I became familiar with his incident with my good friend Jorge Kawaghi. Thanks to him, he became famous. This abusive, straining, aggressive person attacked and wanted to hurt Jorge. (Which is a false claim) Obviously Jorge was not going to let him attack him. From there he has been appearing on TV.
I will not lower myself to him. I didn't know him but I am also not going to keep my mouth shut.
He's talking about excrement. Insulting me. I don't know what.
[Video is played of the 'Dancing with the stars' person that danced with Poncho Denigris complaining about the effort he put in]
Pato: This fat woman can't even get out of bed. It's not important to know how to dance. I know Poncho is puting all his heart and effort into this dance competition.
Hostess: How do you know that for a fact?
Pato: Because I know him. He is my dear friend. Don't criticize. That woman is ungrateful. The lowest of the low. She is unaware of the effort and time he is putting in with Televisa all to try to make her dream of getting married come true.
If you are so offended by what Poncho is doing, then go home and pay for your wedding yourself baby!
And you Cibernetico, pay Antonio Pena what you owe him! You rat!
Host: How can you say that you are his good friend when he accused you of stealing from La Tigresa's home. Artsy things.
Pato: I didn't hear that comment ever. So it must have happened after Big Brother. We were excellent friends during this time. Though this Cibernetico is a jealous fraud. He abuses steroids. Poncho goes to the gym without needing drugs.
That's where his jealousy comes from. Now he's getting into it with me. Don't get into it with me because I will send 3 armed guards to take care of him.
Host asks Ciber about Poncho's situation with the dancing show and her partner asking him to leave her
Ciber: (mock crying) Well there it is. The truth is there. The man cannot dance. This little cunt defends him a lot. I think because he lived in the same house with Kawaghi, they gave each other a lot of love. Kawaghi, Pato, and Denigris. What a passionate threesome. I congratulate them.
So calling me a thief? He is stealing from La Tigresa. You are the thief.
Pato: What is your deal?
Ciber: Nothing. They brought me on here to give my opinion (laughs)
Host reminds Ciber that guards will be sent if he crosses the line with Pato
Ciber mockingly makes fun of Pato for not being a real man.
Ciber: Better yet, send me your mother or your sister.
Pato: How bout you send me your mother because you know that's my specialty. (Ciber no sells)
Host brings up that Cibernetico was invited to dance as part of the elite group of celebrity strippers that Poncho Denigris pertains to and is where the beef with him started
Ciber: This Pato said that Poncho can't dance. So what is he doing there?
Pato: He's a guy that is grinding at it. Earning a living. That's why he part of that group. He is trying his all to dance. It is not a necessity to be a great dancer. If it was they would have brought this famous dancer Baryshnikov.
Ciber: (sarcastic) You are right. You have all the reason in the world. I ask for your forgiveness. Naw, there is no argument for him. The dude cannot dance. He is a disgusting person. Better for him to go eat carrots. He's got a rabbit face. And you? Please...
Pato: Not knowing how to dance makes him disgusting?
Ciber: I am not the one making a fool of myself. If I dont know how to dance, I don't go on a dancing show.
Host invites them for a follow up appearance where no tape exists of

Note
it's always really important to remember the novela was done filming in december before even the juliantina 1st kiss, televisa had NO IDEA the huge impact it would have. Their little screentime in the finale and overall is a result of that and because they were never the main couple. We tend to forget their parts are not so central in the novela cause many people watch only their scenes on youtube
I was thinking the same thing, but you know, they managed to make them pretty central for almost the whole show, that’s why it seemed so jarring now. They did the whole show not knowing how big they were going to be and they still got great scenes.
Tbh, it seemed more a slight miscalculation on the writer’s parts on what to focus for them than actually ignoring them completely. For whatever reason, they decided to give them the additional conflict of a public coming out, and I appreciate the intent, but it didn’t really fit with what their issues had been? So instead of concentrating on and hashing those out and then having them together, they tacked that on and it took up their screentime. On the one hand, yay for a grand gesture, but given how many times we’ve seen them separate, it’d be nice to see that final forever reunion.
But I do get your overall point, that allllll of this was written before they had any idea of the ship’s success and if we found the latter eps not as good as the previous, well, they wrote the previous really darn well then, huh.

Mexico’s Azteca hopes to shine for Chiefs vs. Chargers matchup after last year’s debacle
MEXICO CITY — Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium is looking to put its best face forward Monday night when it hosts a regular-season matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, after last season’s NFL game had to be moved to the L.A. Coliseum in a major black eye for the arena and the league.
Poor field conditions forced the last-minute change of venue, which prompted headlines like “Colossal Shame” from the Mexican sports newspaper Record and others, and since then league and stadium officials have taken steps to ensure the marquee event comes off without a hitch in one of the NFL’s most important overseas markets.
The hybrid turf that never quite took in Azteca has been swapped out for natural grass. Women’s soccer league matches were moved to a different venue, and fewer events in general have been scheduled for the 84,000-seat Azteca. Last year, concerts in the days leading up to the scheduled game between the Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams contributed to the ragged field conditions.
This year, the most recent soccer game in Azteca took place Nov. 2, giving groundskeepers time to ensure the field is tip-top.
“The field is in very good condition,” said Arturo Olivé, director of the NFL’s office in Mexico. “It looks spectacular, and we are very happy with the great work that has been carried out.”
Starting in January, Olivé said, the league has been sending monitors to Mexico to avoid a repeat of 2018’s debacle, and he has been making weekly visits to the stadium to file progress reports.
“The NFL people did not come to judge what was being done, but rather as part of a working team contributing solutions,” Olivé said.
Last November’s fiasco was also a major headache for Televisa, the largest broadcaster in Latin America, which owns the stadium.
Officials hired World Sports Solutions International, which prepared fields for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, to restore Azteca’s hybrid surface to natural grass.
Renato Luis Laurentti, who is responsible for the upgrades, said this week that the field was fertilized and irrigated with orange juice, vitamins, carbohydrates and proteins. Images published by the company on social media showed the grass apparently in perfect shape.
Monday will mark the fourth regular-season NFL game played at Azteca, which underwent a renovation in 2016 partly with the league in mind. Capacity was reduced from over 100,000 previously, and locker rooms designed to accommodate NFL teams were added.
The 49ers and Cardinals faced off here in 2005, followed by the Raiders and Texans in 2016 and the Patriots and Raiders in 2017. Before that it hosted several preseason games as well, including a Chiefs victory over the Cowboys in 1996.
It will be the Chargers’ first visit to Mexico, where according to the league’s local office the team has a strong following — mostly in the northern city of Tijuana just across the border from San Diego, which the Chargers long called home before moving to Los Angeles after the 2016 season.
The push to keep playing games in Mexico is no accident. While soccer, known as “fútbol” in Spanish, remains king, the NFL estimates there are some 25 million fans of football in the country. Many people get together in homes, bars and movie theaters to watch live broadcasts, and it’s common to see fans wearing jerseys of their favorite teams. The Steelers, Cowboys, Patriots, Raiders and 49ers are among the most popular.
“I came a few years ago for the Raiders game and you could feel the excitement, and I believe that it keeps growing,” said Anthony Muñoz, a Hall of Fame former offensive lineman for the Cincinnati Bengals.
“A lot of people think of Mexico and think that they just love the other ‘football,’ but it’s not like that,” said Muñoz, who has Mexican heritage. “The fans here are really knowledgeable and understand the game. There’s a big fan base here.”
The NFL has promoted the sport for years in Mexican schools and estimates that about 3.3 million children play on more than 6,000 junior teams in 27 of the country’s 32 states.
Football historian Alejandro Morales, founder of Mexico’s football Hall of Fame, said the game arrived in the country in 1896 via Mexicans who studied at U.S. universities and brought their appreciation back home. Mexico’s first football game took place that year in the city of Jalapa between local students and a team made up of U.S. Marines who were passing through the port city of Veracruz.
Mexico has two college football leagues with nearly 40 teams between them. Last weekend’s championship between Burros Blancos and Aguilas Blancas — “white donkeys” and “white eagles,” respectively — overflowed the 36,000-capacity stadium at the capital’s Sports City complex and was broadcast on national television.
“A stadium with 35,000 people to watch a student sport event is something incredible,” said quarterback Rodrigo García of the victorious Burros Blancos. “That tells you something about the passion for this sport in Mexico.”
