GUESS WHO SAW THE HAUNTED MANSION MOVIE BRAINROT INCOMING

First off, that was incredible and the very first sequence of the house alone (Gabbie and Travis getting chased out for the first time) already had me going "this is the best movie ever!"

(For the record: my criteria for "is this Haunted Mansion movie good?" is "do I recognize every single Easter egg and does it bring me joy?" And yes. yes this movie does just that)

My favorite parts:

Constance and everything to do with her.

The grief plotline. OMG. I didn't come into this movie expecting the cry but they did it!!!! AND TATER TOT AT THE END 😭😭😭 I hope he adopted that kitty

Ben running into the mirror in the Endless Hallway sequence!!! Such a fun little reference to the real-life endless hallway that uses a mirror. In the same vein of "dramatic effects that reference the real life tricks" also the stretching room and how Ben's light on the ceiling reveals the rafters!

Also though the entire Stretching Room scene was awesome.

I got so excited when I first spotted April-December portrait on the stairs!!!! Even out of focus in the background, I could tell it was her. The whole deal with the eyes (to open the séance room) was a neat touch, bc I think she used to be one of the portraits whose eyes followed the riders (in WDW HM at least.)

The Hatbox Ghost's backstory reveal!!!! I almost screamed when I saw the WDW HM exterior used for Crump Mansion. Frankly incredible storytelling.

Sometimes, a family can be you, your son, your son's new father-figure who built a ghost-seeing camera, a con-man-pretending-to-be-a-priest, the spiritual successor to the famous Madam Leota, and a grouchy old potato of a college professor with a heart condition.

And the Mariner! Considering he's sort of been reduced more and more in the actual HM rides, it's nice to see him get a minor role in the movie. Quite seriously, they could not have done it without him.

Jared Leto... was actually a very good Hatbox Ghost, I'm pleasantly surprised

And even though whom I thought was the Ghost Host was actually the Hatbox Ghost, the Ghost Host did get a little part and get to say one of his famous lines "the real chills come later" (and how they kicked him out of Ben's body - just, the frantic bell-ringing and waving sage in his face - hilarious to watch)

What could have been better:

WHY ARE THE CARETAKER AND HIS DOG DEAD WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO THEM

Alastair Crump is a crummy name for the Hatbox Ghost honestly, should've stuck with Randall Pace (from the comics) or a different name entirely.

Considering they were all "we need to find [the Hatbox Ghost's missing] head [for the banishing ritual]" I would have expected them to grab his skull, not just his hat.

And the séance room could have been fancier (in the flashbacks at least, I understand why it's a dank hole in the present).

What I won't forgive the movie for:

WHERE. ARE. THE SINGING. BUSTS. HOW COULD YOU LEAVE THEM OUT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Is alton friends with other theme park guardians outside of merlin?

Of course! It's common for Guardians to attend industry events to connect and form friendships with each other. Supernatural personifications need to stick together, after all! Incidentally, anyone who would like to see an epic Disney crossover story, my sister wrote a fic for Disneyland's 50th anniversary (in 2005), and it's very good.

Crowns of the Kingdom

Granted, it largely caters to Disneyland (specifically, not WDW) nerds, but it also includes a lot of characters who existed by that point, including Oswald. It's a lot of fun and very well-written. I recommend it.

Chapter 1 is an explanation about what this fic is all about and why it's such a big deal, to give people who weren't around or didn't know a little bit of background.

Hey there and welcome to night eight of the ninth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!

Tonight we have the DLR/WDW, Wreck-it Ralph 10th Anniversary, Felix and Nicelanders Slider, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LR.

This pin was released in November of 2022 in Disneyland Resort and later in Walt Disney World. In celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Wreck-it Ralph movie that same year. This pin focuses on the anniversary party scene in the movie, as Felix and the Nicelanders dance in celebration on the penthouse party floor. Looking in from behind them we can see Ralph barely fitting in the doorway. Cringing as he tries to find a place where he could fit in with the others, that earlier in the movie didn't yet exist. Not until after the adventure he and Felix went through that helped them find friendship and understanding.

The pin itself is a classic pin-on-pin design, featuring a sliding element to make Felix appear as though he is dancing across the surface of the pin. It's a rather fun design, fitting for a dance party and simple. Making what is supposed to be an easy to obtain pin a little more unique. Understandable that the designers would want to add a little something extra to an anniversary pin, regardless of whether it is or isn't limited edition. You can feel the awkward energy of this pin as your eye becomes drawn to Ralph in the background. Bringing attention to where he and Felix were at the beginning of the movie, before fond thoughts of where they ended up as friends and even brothers follow. Seeing where things began and knowing that ending gives it even more of a reason to celebrate the characters and the success of their journey.

I really want Lotus Inn by WDW to play in the background of the Lotus Hotel. They wrote it INSPIRED by the Lotus Casino. It would be awesome !

I think people make fair points about it being real, but also fair points about why they think it’s PR. // I agree with you, Pascal. I really haven't made up my mind on what to think about their relationship. We haven't seen them together in the same picture since WDW. The pap walk was 2 weeks before that. Those were over two months ago. Why not pics from Christmas/New Year's or another organic event like a date in ATL or MA or PT. Not a pap pic either, just like a selfie or something. Yes, we got a scare video a month ago, but really this isn't enough to prove a real rs or a PR rs. They may be trying to be extra private and not post everything to sm, but why go 2 weeks of 2 different sightings and nothing since?

That’s what I still find odd. Other than Disney, there really hasn’t been any organic or natural looking photos to me. No sightings, whether it’s by fans or papz, outside of the planned walk. Nothing with them in the background of friend or family photos. Even for things like New Years when we’ve been able to link the groups together to the same locations. There’s just…nothing. And that’s just so weird to me. I’d say he attempted privacy with Jenny as well, but even she popped up in fan sightings or photos his friends would post. Unless everyone in his life is just being really careful about what they’re posting? That’s the part that feels off to me. 🦎

Look, I hate DeSantis as much as anyone else, but I DO think it's an important distinction that Disney is only holding an official pride event at Disneyland, which is located in California. They haven't announced any official in-park events in Florida.

The unofficial-but-Disney-sells-rainbow-merch-during Gay Days events that LGBT Disney fans organize are still happening, but Disney holding an official pride night in a liberal state, where the city of Anaheim isn't threatening to strip away special privileges, isn't that much of an own... And for the safety of other guests, it's probably a pretty wise decision. WDW has decent security, but people can still bring in their fists 🤷 and Trump supporters have protested at the entrance to the property several times, so extremely anti-gay protesters showing up, likely with guns, isn't the most ideal look to have at the entrance with Mickey in the background.

Also the timing is probably a slight coincidence, as we got the announcement a day or two after Disney announced a pride event at Disneyland Paris.

Anyway this is all coming from a huge fan of Disney parks, but I don't think giving Disney praise over this is 100% deserved.

When we finally made it to WDW after our long day of car trouble and frustrations, we headed straight to Hollywood Studios to make our park reservation for the day, and we used an overdue Lightning Lane selection that had serendipitously turned into an anytime pass to take our first ride on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway! It was the most magical beginning to our trip that we could have imagined, since we have been so excited about this ride, and the story of Mickey and Minnie running into issues on a car trip hit so close to home that we are still laughing about it.
