GUESS WHO SAW THE HAUNTED MANSION MOVIE BRAINROT INCOMING

First off, that was incredible and the very first sequence of the house alone (Gabbie and Travis getting chased out for the first time) already had me going "this is the best movie ever!"

(For the record: my criteria for "is this Haunted Mansion movie good?" is "do I recognize every single Easter egg and does it bring me joy?" And yes. yes this movie does just that)

My favorite parts:

Constance and everything to do with her.

The grief plotline. OMG. I didn't come into this movie expecting the cry but they did it!!!! AND TATER TOT AT THE END 😭😭😭 I hope he adopted that kitty

Ben running into the mirror in the Endless Hallway sequence!!! Such a fun little reference to the real-life endless hallway that uses a mirror. In the same vein of "dramatic effects that reference the real life tricks" also the stretching room and how Ben's light on the ceiling reveals the rafters!

Also though the entire Stretching Room scene was awesome.

I got so excited when I first spotted April-December portrait on the stairs!!!! Even out of focus in the background, I could tell it was her. The whole deal with the eyes (to open the séance room) was a neat touch, bc I think she used to be one of the portraits whose eyes followed the riders (in WDW HM at least.)

The Hatbox Ghost's backstory reveal!!!! I almost screamed when I saw the WDW HM exterior used for Crump Mansion. Frankly incredible storytelling.

Sometimes, a family can be you, your son, your son's new father-figure who built a ghost-seeing camera, a con-man-pretending-to-be-a-priest, the spiritual successor to the famous Madam Leota, and a grouchy old potato of a college professor with a heart condition.

And the Mariner! Considering he's sort of been reduced more and more in the actual HM rides, it's nice to see him get a minor role in the movie. Quite seriously, they could not have done it without him.

Jared Leto... was actually a very good Hatbox Ghost, I'm pleasantly surprised

And even though whom I thought was the Ghost Host was actually the Hatbox Ghost, the Ghost Host did get a little part and get to say one of his famous lines "the real chills come later" (and how they kicked him out of Ben's body - just, the frantic bell-ringing and waving sage in his face - hilarious to watch)

What could have been better:

WHY ARE THE CARETAKER AND HIS DOG DEAD WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO THEM

Alastair Crump is a crummy name for the Hatbox Ghost honestly, should've stuck with Randall Pace (from the comics) or a different name entirely.

Considering they were all "we need to find [the Hatbox Ghost's missing] head [for the banishing ritual]" I would have expected them to grab his skull, not just his hat.

And the séance room could have been fancier (in the flashbacks at least, I understand why it's a dank hole in the present).

What I won't forgive the movie for:

Hey there everyone, and welcome to night sixteen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!

Tonight we've got the DLR/WDW, National Princess Day 2023, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LR.

On November 18th of 2023, for a limited time the Disney Company released this little pin in celebration of National Princess Day. Which of course took place on that very same day, making it the tenth pin released for a set known as the 2023 Special Days series. A small collection of pins released for eleven unique holiday pins, such as the National Pancake Day pin I showcased last year. For Princess Day we see Vanellope standing with her arms raised while wearing the pink, poofy princess dress she was briefly seen in at the end of the first Wreck-it Ralph movie. The pastel pink pin itself is made in the shape of a crown, with the words "Celebrate National Princess Day" in pinkish red displayed in a border of pink peppermint candy beneath Vanellope. While the year of this pin's release, 2023, is written in small print right above her head.

I can't help but feel a sense of humor emanating off this pin when I look at it. After all, Vanellope appeared quite uncomfortable in the puffy gown, and more at ease in the role as President rather then Princess at the end of the first film. Ditching both the title and dress not even five minutes after having them returned to her. As a result I can't help but feel that Vanellope got dressed up as a joke rather then to truly represent a Princess on the holiday. The more I think of it however, perhaps it was a good idea to have Vanellope crash this holiday rather then having to pick favorites among the other Disney Princesses. Joking or not, the pin itself contains a great deal of detail in Vanellope's hair and dress. (An outfit choice that collectors have requested to see her in for at least one pin, and finally gained through this pin). Then there is the choice of a glitter in the background; which gives it a shiny, silvery look that pairs well with the pastels of the rest of the pin. A well put together pin that looks like a dream to young girls desiring pink princess days of their own.

Is alton friends with other theme park guardians outside of merlin?

Of course! It's common for Guardians to attend industry events to connect and form friendships with each other. Supernatural personifications need to stick together, after all! Incidentally, anyone who would like to see an epic Disney crossover story, my sister wrote a fic for Disneyland's 50th anniversary (in 2005), and it's very good.

Crowns of the Kingdom

Granted, it largely caters to Disneyland (specifically, not WDW) nerds, but it also includes a lot of characters who existed by that point, including Oswald. It's a lot of fun and very well-written. I recommend it.

Chapter 1 is an explanation about what this fic is all about and why it's such a big deal, to give people who weren't around or didn't know a little bit of background.

I really want Lotus Inn by WDW to play in the background of the Lotus Hotel. They wrote it INSPIRED by the Lotus Casino. It would be awesome !

Look, I hate DeSantis as much as anyone else, but I DO think it's an important distinction that Disney is only holding an official pride event at Disneyland, which is located in California. They haven't announced any official in-park events in Florida.

The unofficial-but-Disney-sells-rainbow-merch-during Gay Days events that LGBT Disney fans organize are still happening, but Disney holding an official pride night in a liberal state, where the city of Anaheim isn't threatening to strip away special privileges, isn't that much of an own... And for the safety of other guests, it's probably a pretty wise decision. WDW has decent security, but people can still bring in their fists 🤷 and Trump supporters have protested at the entrance to the property several times, so extremely anti-gay protesters showing up, likely with guns, isn't the most ideal look to have at the entrance with Mickey in the background.

Also the timing is probably a slight coincidence, as we got the announcement a day or two after Disney announced a pride event at Disneyland Paris.

Anyway this is all coming from a huge fan of Disney parks, but I don't think giving Disney praise over this is 100% deserved.

First of all, this Tumblr update makes me so incredible angry instead of fixing bugs they created new ones. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes, thanks to Nancy and her anon, I can't stop thinking about the pre carved pumpkins.

And thanks to one of my anons (sorry for not answering you directly but it fits perfectly to my reblog here😅) I start to think that this pic is just fake as Dustbin's lips.

So let's look at the pic. The top of right pumpkin is already cut. I zoomed in and it was definitely not cut on that towel because it looks very dry and clean to me. And @ anon, the manicured nails is something that triggers me too. I think she wears these nail foils. (I'm having shellac nails. I could be wrong but it doesn't look like shellac to me). And I'm not sure if these ones are so durable. So we have 2 pics with the same "nail polish" and I think it was Maja who pointed it out, but to me it looks like the same too (length and color). So do they want us to believe she was in MA in December (remember the poinsettas in the background) or did she just use the same nail polish? Big reminder: she didn't wear this nail polish for WDW and Mario Kart!

However the top of the left pumpkin is not cut, so this is reason why the theory of pre cut pumpkins is not working. It's just a gut feeling but I doubt he carved the pumpkins. Elsa, are you good in carving pumpkins?😁😏

Edit: corrected the nail polish

Well, after spending the day in a symposium, I tried to comment on a post of @nancydrewwouldnever and @annislittleshopofhorrors but tumblr said something was wrong and my post just vanished in the air.

Now I’m going to try again to post my thoughts about one of the pictures, specifically the carving pumpkin one.

IMO it seems pretty much staged for the fandom, for us who reacted at pumpkingate exposing the bullshit.

You grab two pumpkins put on the table and use the same picture you had on your cellphone to create pumpkingate, just smile for the picture and everyone will believe.

Did anyone checked when this picture was taken?

Hey there everyone, and welcome to night twenty-three of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!

Here we've got the DLR/WDW, Sugar Rush Racers Mystery Collection, Jubileena Bing-Bing, Wreck-it Ralph pin. OE.

As a part of a Mystery Collection released in March of 2024, this pin was sold along with seven other in Disney parks. All sold in groups of two, contained in little boxes in order to conceal the identities of the pins until the moment of purchase. Here we have a striped framed pin with Jubileena Bing-Bing striking a pose in the center. The same pose that she makes for the Players on the Racer Selection Screen, which is a little endearing.

This is the second time Jubileena has joined her fellow racers in a Mystery Pin Collection, though the first one using the art style of the movie. I do enjoy the attention to detail, as well as the vibrancy of the color. She truly is as bright as a cherry, with every wrinkle of her stockings and design of her shirt clear as day. Making her easily stand out among the other racers in this collection, as the peppermint striped frame surrounds the background of her pin. Complementing her color scheme pretty well while keeping up with the candy theme. Overall it's a well designed pin, and I'm glad to see the quality of Mystery pins rise over the years.
