Hey there everyone, and welcome to night twenty-three of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Here we've got the DLR/WDW, Sugar Rush Racers Mystery Collection, Jubileena Bing-Bing, Wreck-it Ralph pin. OE.
As a part of a Mystery Collection released in March of 2024, this pin was sold along with seven other in Disney parks. All sold in groups of two, contained in little boxes in order to conceal the identities of the pins until the moment of purchase. Here we have a striped framed pin with Jubileena Bing-Bing striking a pose in the center. The same pose that she makes for the Players on the Racer Selection Screen, which is a little endearing.
This is the second time Jubileena has joined her fellow racers in a Mystery Pin Collection, though the first one using the art style of the movie. I do enjoy the attention to detail, as well as the vibrancy of the color. She truly is as bright as a cherry, with every wrinkle of her stockings and design of her shirt clear as day. Making her easily stand out among the other racers in this collection, as the peppermint striped frame surrounds the background of her pin. Complementing her color scheme pretty well while keeping up with the candy theme. Overall it's a well designed pin, and I'm glad to see the quality of Mystery pins rise over the years.

Hello everyone! Welcome to night twenty-two of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got the LFLY, Hot Topic, Sugar Rush Racers Blind Box, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. OE.
Here we've got a third party pin created by Loungefly in April of 2021, and released along with five others as a Mystery Pin in Hot Topic stores. Like all Mystery Pins; this pin was concealed inside a box, keeping the identity of the pin unknown until purchasing. Here we see Vanellope in a cutesy, simplistic, chibi art style taking inspiration from the Sugar Rush Racer Mini Pin Set. She looks as though she's striking a pose for a camera of sorts, showing off her mischievous personality for whoever's there to take it.
As stated before, this pin takes heavy inspiration from the set of Sugar Rush Racer Mini Pins that I've been showcasing this month. The explanation for this is rather simple, as the other racers in this mystery set share the same design as the other with the added addition of their bodies. Since Vanellope's pin in that set vastly differs from the others, it required the designers to create a whole new pin for her in order to fit in with this set. Opening up the opportunity to give her a unique pose as well as glitter accents in her hair that the other pins of this release lack. I do enjoy the fact that the designers chose to apply the yellowed, aged look to the pin as it helps tie it back to the others. Though due to how much it stands out, it's quite obvious that this was supposed to be "the one" collectors were meant to be seeking among the others of this set.

Hey there everyone, and welcome to night twenty-one of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got an exciting one! The WDI, Wedding Series, Sargent Calhoun & Fix-it Felix, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 300.
Here we have the ninth pin released in July 2024 for the Wedding Series! A small collection of pins featuring characters from Animated Disney or Pixar films that were married during their movie. With this pin featuring Sargent Calhoun and Fix-it Felix in their wedding attire. Likely in the middle of their "I dos" while gazing longingly at each other within the boundaries of a stained glass archway. Their names printed in flowing cursive along a waving banner, weaving around the archway on either side of them.
I've been excited to show off this pin all month as it's by far my favorite pin released this year. It's a beautiful pin; the gold of the archways, the elegance of the banner, the shimmer of the stained glass when held in the light. Then the details; the painted lines in Calhoun's hair, the golden hammers in the archway. Of course there's also the humor of Felix standing on that stool to comfortably hold Calhoun's hands. Every inch of this pin has something to bring a smile to my face, and I'm so glad that these two were added to this series. A little fun fact, this is actually the second Wedding series, where the first only included eight pins released in 2019. Now this entire series was remade with an entirely new design, with Felix and Calhoun joining as the new ninth pin. It makes me wonder if there'll be another rerelease in the future as this isn't the first time Disney's redone an old release. Which makes me excited for another wedding pin featuring these two again someday in the future.

Hey there everyone, and welcome to night twenty of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got the WDW, Alley Bowler Arcade Series, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 2000.
This fun pin was released recently in September of 2024, as a part of a bicoastal series known as the Ally Bowler Arcade. A series of ten pins designed to look like a Skee Ball arcade game, with each pin themed around a different animated Disney or Pixar film. With this particular pin being themed around the first Wreck-it Ralph movie, with an image of Ralph giving a thumbs up with Vanellope perched on his shoulder on the track of the game. The pins of this series came with a fun little gimmick in the form of a grey string with a silver ball dangling a few inches from the bottom of the pin. Though for the sake of the photograph, this string was wrapped around the back of the pin.
Here we have a pin that is covered in fun little details such as sprites from the Fix-it Felix Jr arcade, as well as the year of the films release in the place of the arcade game's high score. Then the little ball and string is a fun method of bringing the game to life, as the empty holes along the center of the pin's upper half hold it well. This pin however tries to do too much in too little of a space, as the details in Vanellope and Ralph become lost with how squished together they seem. Perhaps this could have been improved by applying Vanellope to the upper half in some way, while giving the entirety of the track to Ralph. As it is, the upper half appears rather plain compared to the lower, so perhaps that could have balanced the design a bit better. My thoughts aside, this pin still is has a rather fun and unique design! What a perfect series for the Wreck-it Ralph movie to be apart of.

Hey there everyone! Welcome to night nineteen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we're revisiting the WDI, Characters in Sorcerer Hats, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 200.
Originally released in June of 2014, this pin joined a long ongoing series known as the Characters in Sorcerer Hats. Which is a collection of pins featuring animated Disney, Pixar, and Disney Parks characters wearing the legendary Sorcerer's Hat owned by the one and only, Yen Sid. Here we see Vanellope wearing the magical hat with a mischievous smile on her face. One that suggests that she doing something she knows she shouldn't be, and though did it anyway for giggles.
Simple in design, we have another example of a pin that doesn't need anything extra to stand out or tell a story. Sometimes all you need is a good design and a bit of imagination to tell that Vanellope is clearly smiling up at Yen Sid right now. While he's leaned over her, hands on his hips while frowning in disapproval. Who can blame him though! After all in series contains over one hundred animated characters including the sorcerer himself, meaning that he really needs to get a new security system for his hat. Though speaking of the Sorcerers Hat itself, just what would Vanellope use that power for? Perhaps to prank Taffyta and the other racers, or maybe pull a trick on Ralph and Felix instead. I can see her having quite a bit of fun with it, creating quite the mess as well.

Hey there everyone, and welcome to night eighteen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got another pin from the Sugar Rush Racers set. The Ds.com, Sugar Rush Racers, Candlehead only, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 300.
Here we have a very, very small pin that was originally released in October of 2012. Featuring the cute little face of Candlehead, one of the Sugar Rush Racers who antagonized Vanellope during the first Wreck-it Ralph movie. This pin along with the ten others sold together were available exclusively on the Disney Store online as a part of a collection meant to promote the upcoming movie. The pin itself is simple in design, using a more cutsy 2D style that later became popular in other merchandise.
While doing research for what to write about this pin, I noticed something a little interesting during the final race scene in the movie. Which is that the icons used on the jumbotron displaying the racers names are a different design from these pins. The reason why I bring this up is because before I decided to check myself, I had believed that these did share the same design. Something that I'm not alone in mistaking as I found several sites that identified these pins as the icons. Which now makes me wonder, why didn't they share that design? As promotional merchandise released prior to the movie, it would have made sense to share a design with something in the film for the sake of advertising. Perhaps they decided to just go a unique design, or create something that would simply look better on physical merchandise. It's just a thought I've been mulling over since the discovery and wanted to share.

Hello there everyone, and welcome to night seventeen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we're revisiting the WDI, Pressed Pennies, King Candy, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 250.
This pin was released in August of 2013 as a part of a large collection of pins known as the Pressed Pennies Series. A collection of pins made to reflect the design of their pressed coin counterpart, in honor of one of Disney's oldest forms of Disney park collectables. This particular pin was made in the image of the King Candy pressed penny once found in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The pin itself is shaped like an oval, with the raised molded figure of King Candy in his classic pose. Leaning on his cane was smiling cleverly, all the while his name sits in bold beneath his feet while the movie logo resides under that.
The Pressed Pennies pin series comes with a bit of Disney history, as each pin in this collection was modeled after an actual pressed coin found in Disney parks. Amounting to sixty pins total, plus an additional three released in Disney Hong Kong. This includes coins from holidays, special events, as well as those that were only available for a limited time in parks. Immortalized in pin form so the memory of discontinued coins lives on. I have a particular fondness for this collection as I once walked around Disneyland as a child with my little book of pressed pennies. Excited to add another to my collection, after begging my parents for a penny of course. It was these coins that lead to my collecting of pins later on, so having a pin that brings together the past and present is quite a special thing.

Hey there everyone, and welcome to night sixteen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got the DLR/WDW, National Princess Day 2023, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LR.
On November 18th of 2023, for a limited time the Disney Company released this little pin in celebration of National Princess Day. Which of course took place on that very same day, making it the tenth pin released for a set known as the 2023 Special Days series. A small collection of pins released for eleven unique holiday pins, such as the National Pancake Day pin I showcased last year. For Princess Day we see Vanellope standing with her arms raised while wearing the pink, poofy princess dress she was briefly seen in at the end of the first Wreck-it Ralph movie. The pastel pink pin itself is made in the shape of a crown, with the words "Celebrate National Princess Day" in pinkish red displayed in a border of pink peppermint candy beneath Vanellope. While the year of this pin's release, 2023, is written in small print right above her head.
I can't help but feel a sense of humor emanating off this pin when I look at it. After all, Vanellope appeared quite uncomfortable in the puffy gown, and more at ease in the role as President rather then Princess at the end of the first film. Ditching both the title and dress not even five minutes after having them returned to her. As a result I can't help but feel that Vanellope got dressed up as a joke rather then to truly represent a Princess on the holiday. The more I think of it however, perhaps it was a good idea to have Vanellope crash this holiday rather then having to pick favorites among the other Disney Princesses. Joking or not, the pin itself contains a great deal of detail in Vanellope's hair and dress. (An outfit choice that collectors have requested to see her in for at least one pin, and finally gained through this pin). Then there is the choice of a glitter in the background; which gives it a shiny, silvery look that pairs well with the pastels of the rest of the pin. A well put together pin that looks like a dream to young girls desiring pink princess days of their own.

Good evening everyone! Welcome to night fifteen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we're heading back to the older pins, with the LFLY, 8-Bit Pin Set, Fix-it Felix, Wreck-it Ralph pin. OE.
This pin originally released in March of 2021 was one of the first Wreck-it Ralph pins produced by Loungefly and sold on their website. Though not alone as this pin was one of four 8-bit pins sold together as a set themed around the game Fix-it Felix Jr. With this pin being Fix-it Felix himself, holding his golden hammer aloft while looking exactly as he does on the arcade cabinet screen. In all his 8-bit glory, on his way to fix the apartment building and save the day.
I'm really glad this pin exists, if only to show Felix off in full 8-bit glory. Which isn't difficult to showcase as seen in the simple design of this pin. No gimmicks are needed, or layering or realistic details. Just a flat design with flat colors, just as it'd been seen on the arcade screen. Which is exactly why the simplicity of this pin works so well for this particular design. Older games can't contain the detailed graphics used by newer ones simply due to the technology at the time. So it only makes sense that a pin meant to represent a character from that era of gaming should reflect that idea. Personally I'm glad that Loudgefly chose to take this route when designing the pins from this set specifically, because sometimes there truly is beauty in simplicity.

Hey there everyone! Welcome to night fourteen of the Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got another recent release. The WDI, D23 Expo 2024, Disney Villains Collection, King Candy, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 400.
With every D23 Expo there comes a new Disney Villains Collection, with this one not disappointing. As forty Disney Villains from forty different animated movies stared on their own jumbo pin. Complete with glitter and a stained glass effect. This particular pin stars King Candy, our not so sweet villain from the first Wreck-it Ralph film. Here we have him posed in the castle doorway with a hand on his hip and a cane in the other. We see the old king staring straight at us with a brow raised, almost tauntingly as though challenging us to try and see through his sugary façade.
This is my second favorite pin to be released this year by Disney Imagineering, (the number one favorite being one you'll all have to wait till next week to see). I love love love the attention they give pins like these! From the individual chains in the candy chandelier, to the design of the stained glass door that looks exactly like the doors Felix knocked upon in the film. Then there's King Candy himself, where a great amount of detail was brought to his face and hair to emphasize the elderly look of this persona. All without taking away the power and energy emanating off of him as he challenges the observer. Then there are the less obvious details, such as the folds and curves of his clothing. The crinkled, reflective look of his candy wrapper bowtie; as well as the faintly painted design on his wavy collar. Every D23 Expo comes with an excuse to celebrate the greatest Disney Villains of the past, and this particular pin certainly feels like a trophy to the villainous racer.

Hey there everyone! Welcome to night thirteen of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got a recent release. The DEC, D23 Expo 2024, The Color Shades of Magic, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 400.
This collection was originally released in August of 2024 for the annual D23 Expo, and was made available from the Disney Employee Center. Including ninety pins that featured different Disney characters from animation and puppeteering. This large collection showcases their character standing beside a large, labeled jar made to resemble the kinds used by the Ink and Paint Department at the studio. With the ink inside said jar meant to share the color palette of the featured character. This jar containing a glittery turquoise to match the color of Vanellope's hoodie as she stands, arms spread in excitement over the jar made for her.
I honestly think this is a pretty fun collection, calling attention to the art department and their efforts in using a wide variety of colors in Disney characters. A fun fact about the pins in this release, while many of the jars may look similar no two jars actually contain the same shade of color. Different shades of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and black were used across the entire collection along with the character that closely shared that color. Interestingly though not a single shade of white was used; knocking out characters like Bolt, Olaf, and Marie from joining this collection. Perhaps this was due to the challenge differentiating the shades would be, which is a bit of an issue with the black ink jars. Though perhaps there was another unknow reason behind this decision. No matter the case, this collection is certainly a colorful celebration of art and creativity.

Hey there everyone! Welcome to night twelve of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we're revisiting the DSSH, Pin Traders Delight, Adorabeezle Winterpop, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 400.
This pin was released in January of 2015 at the Disney Studio Store Hollywood, as apart of the ongoing Pin Traders Delight series. An ongoing series that feature characters from across every Disney animated film, as well as from Pixar and a few animated TV shows. This particular pin features Adorabeezle Winterpop in her winter cap. Holding a red, white, and blue scoop of ice cream in a cone. Topped with a dollop of whipped cream as well, with a single red cherry at its peak.
Pin Traders Delight is a fun, unique series that releases three new pins every month during a trading event. One that takes place at Disney Studio Store Hollywood and at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. At this event one can purchase a sundae that consists of two scoops of ice cream, a choice of topping, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, and a cherry. Then with this sundae one would receive one of three limited edition pins, so long as supplies of these last. It's a fantastic method of bringing traders together for a little fun event. As well as the perfect excuse to shine light on characters that may have played a smaller role in their film, or characters from long ago that modern audiences may have never heard of. Having begun in 2007, Pin Traders Delight is one of Disney's longest ongoing pin series to have been released. So long as new characters are born or old characters have yet to resurface, there's sure to be many more years of this series to come.

Hey everyone! Welcome to night eleven of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month.
Tonight we've got the WDI, 100 Years of Disney Animation, Set #21, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 300.
This jumbo pin was apart of a large release of one hundred pins in September of 2023, all in celebration of Disney Animation's one hundredth anniversary. The entire series featured at least one character from every Disney animated film since Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, with Ralph and Vanellope being featured in two of them. Here we see Ralph smiling over a rainbow platinum background with the words "Disney 100" peeking behind his hair. This background is set within the center of the silver pin, with wings reminiscent of theater curtains spread on either side.
I loved the moment I first held this heavy pin in my hand. Not only because of my love for the Walt Disney films of my childhood, but because it truly felt like a piece of the celebration. The gleam of this pin in the light makes it shine like a trophy, and the added detail of this pin emphasizes the role Ralph has in contributing to this celebration. What detail it is too! Very few pins include things such as nostrils or individual button holes. Then the attention to his hair is that of what I'd usually expect from a Vanellope pin rather then what Ralph usually receives. It shows the care that went into this pin, one meant to be celebrating the studio that gave reason for it's creation. Successfully spreading that feeling of aw and celebration to whoever obtained it.

Hello there everyone, and welcome to night ten of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we're going to be revisiting the DSSH/DEF, Back to School IDs, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 400.
Here we have a pin from another Back to School set, this one released in August of 2013 along with three other pins. Each of them depicting an ID card for a unique school that the character possibly could attend. Here we have Vanellope smiling for the camera on her school ID, with her name spelled in all capitals to the left of her. While above her the name of the school, Sugar Rush High School, is displayed clearly like a banner. Finally we also have the probable crest of the school just above Vanellope's name, with the bold letters S.R. resting over three small red stars.
I think the idea of a school for the Sugar Rush Racers is a fun idea, despite the fact that there's really only enough racers for a single classroom. Though I have to raise a brow however at the level of schooling that Vanellope and the racers are apparently attending. With Vanellope's canon age being somewhere between nine and twelve, and her fellow racers ages most likely not being far from that. It would make more sense for this ID to be for a Middle School or Elementary school depending on which age the creators wish to lean. This is absolutely possible seeing as another Disney character in this set has a Middle School ID, and having one Elementary ID would have helped round out the set. Though perhaps this is the case of Vanellope being a little sneaky, and needing a fake High School ID to get into the school's auto department. Now that would be fun idea, though it makes me wonder what exactly she'd be looking for in there that she couldn't break into the Kart Factory again to get.

Good evening everyone! Welcome to night nine of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we have another pin from the Sugar Rush Racers set. The Ds.com, Sugar Rush Racers, Crumbelina ONLY, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 300.
This pin comes from a set of eleven pins sold together exclusively on the Disney Store website in 2012. The set itself centered Vanellope along with ten mini pins featuring each of the main racers from the Wreck-it Ralph movie. This particular pin from the set shows us the face of Crumbelina Di Caramello, the fashionable Italian dessert themed racer that isn't afraid to get down and dirty to win. Like all the mini pins from this set, Crumbelina's head is only about the size of a dime. Making it impressive just how much detail was included on this painted pin.
From the drizzle on her hat, to the curls of her hair, much was carefully added to this design in order to give the look that it has. Something that is especially important to Crumbelina as fashion and style are apart of her character. Though there was another reason while getting the pins of this release just right was so important at the time of its release. That being the exact release date of this set which was in October of 2012, not November meaning that it was release prior to the film. Most likely as promotional merchandise for the movie coming to theaters only a few days later. This of course meant that these pins had been one of the first peeks of these characters to the audience, which in turn did mean that they needed to make a good first impression. One that I believe they pulled off at the time just by looking at this pin alone.

Hello everyone! Welcome to night eight of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month.
Here we have the WDW, Disney Darlings Collection, Vanellope Von Schweetz, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 2500.
This pin was released in October 2023, exclusively in Walt Disney World, as the tenth pin part of the Disney Darlings Collection. A series mostly focusing on Disney Princesses; with the addition of Vanellope from Wreck-it Ralph, Alice from Alice in Wonderland, and Lilo from Lilo and Stitch. Each pin featured the character in this doll like art style, standing before a small diorama of their bedroom.
This unique series of pins spanned across the year of 2023, with a new pin being released in Disney World pin shops on a monthly basis. Each of them featuring a similar layout, along with the fun gimmick of this actually being a set of two pins. With Vanellope herself being a separate, detachable pin rather then a pin on pin element. It's not a gimmick that's used as commonly as I personally believe it should as I believe it's one of the easier ones to pull off. As for the pin itself, I like how the creators chose to focus on Vanellope's room from her days as a Glitch on the run as that is who the viewers get to know during the first movie. Not the girl who likely moved into the castle that was always meant to be hers at the end of the movie. A pin like that would've worked better with King Candy in the forefront. Though the thought of King Candy in this art style is not one I want to think about again.

Hey everyone! Welcome to night seven of the tenth annual Wreck-it Ralph Pin Post Month!
Tonight we've got the Monogram, PALM, Iconic Series, Fix-it Felix Jr, Jumbo, Wreck-it Ralph pin. LE 300.
This pin was released in September of 2023 along with three others on the Pink A La Mode website. Each of them featuring a different Wreck-it Ralph character posing in the center of an enormous circle, with this one being Fix-it Felix! Standing in the middle of a golden ring decorated with gleaming hammers similar to his own hanging from his belt. Looking shiny himself with glitter spread throughout his clothes, and with swirls of metallic gold behind him.
As another one of Disney's third party created pins, its style was able to branch out more from typical Disney pins. Allowing for very unique color techniques that haven't been used in any previous pin series. As well as a more cartoony art style that makes Felix look even more friendly then he already does. The glittery look makes me wonder if the Sugar Rush Racers decided to dump an entire bag of glitter on him. Though he's not alone in the glitter mayhem, as the others in this series were also likely caught in the fire.
