Sincerest and a million thanks to a friend who gifted me this ADORABLE chibi of Ethan by @mariemarion!!! I love him so much with his sword! Adam also likes the sword but would never really admit it, of course.
I have thoughts about how dear Ethan ended up wielding a sword but it will have to wait until a non-work day for me to write anything coherent.
He's so wonderful. It's such a fantastic surprise <3 <3 <3

I got tagged by @brother-genitivi to do this uquiz as my oc and then make them in this meiker (so thanks for the tag lee!!!).
I chose my detective clarissa (again lmao.). Also I think everyone's been tagged already so just take this as a tag if you want to take part!!
Belladonna
This is the poison of falling in love. You taste it and your heart beats fast. Your eyes dilate, you fall into deep delirium. You may be a bit dramatic and impulsive, and it gets you into trouble sometimes, but you just can't help yourself. It's in your blood. You love because it is the truest beauty you've found in this harsh world. Even when it's hurt you before, when it's poisoned you, you still find a way. They may call you naive for still believing in it, or vain for making yourself and your surroundings so meticulously lovely. But to love like this is brave and noble, and I hope you find the beauty you seek. Chances are, it's within and all around you already, if you know where to look.
#book: the wayhaven chronicles#oc: clarissa lawson#I'd say that this is the sort of thing that she'd wear during summer/book three#plus nate's jacket if she gets cold lmao

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 27/Sept/2024
I’ve finished the base writing for Chapter Four, and I’ve almost finished the first edits!!
As you might be able to tell, it’s been a very productive week, hehe! :D
Chapter Four came together sooo smoothly! There wasn’t as many scenes, which helped, but also a major chunk of it was just the MC and another character, which obviously helps keeps variations of scenes to a smaller amount with so few characters—though I still had to put a good amount in to account for some very important choices with this very important character…
But there was a really specific line I wanted this chapter to end on, as I finally got to write it I was like vibrating with excitement, lol! :D It sets up not only the next chapter on a fun, if intense, note, but also the rest of the story!
After I finished writing, I dove straight into the editing! There was an important bit of ‘mirroring’ I really wanted to get into this chapter at the beginning and end for the romances, so getting to read back through and make sure that was clear but also subtle was great to check on!
The romances really are progressing now, and although I want that to be obvious through dialogue and actions, I also want it to be there in the subtler, quieter moments too. I think that’s where deeper feelings can really shine the most! More of an instinctual thing than something the characters are actively doing.
Next week, I will easily finish of the edits and rewrites for this chapter, and then move onto social media days.
Social media days will take a bit longer as I have the Autumnal Scenario Specials for Patreon to write, which is really going to get me in the autumnal mood…before jumping back into the heated summer going on for the next chapter, hehe! :D
Hope you all have the most amazing weekend! We’ll be offline as usual, so I’ll update you all again next week! <3

the words you're too scared to say
attachment theory, chapter 11 The Wayhaven Chronicles Nate Sewell/Holland Townsend rated M
Excerpt:
Summer melted away with a slow, easy slide, candle wax dripping and cooling along the smooth column of a long, white taper. The trees turned yellow, gold, orange. Another month gone, and the weather had begun to change, the air taking on a bite, a briskness. Officially fall, now: the nights were growing steadily colder, the air crisp and tart-sharp as the first bite of a perfectly ripe green apple, and the sky had taken on that crystalline brilliance, that startling, bright clarity that only autumn skies seem to possess. (As if everything was sharper, somehow. Clearer. As if the world had become somehow clearer, cleaner.) And Holland had never been one for the summer months. Had always felt like they were a little too hazy-thick, bright in the wrong ways. Too hot and too long, an endless taffy-stretch of days spent sweltering in the sticky-wet heat, sun beating down on everything, relentless and oppressive and draining, where everything was just too fucking much. But this summer, the days had slipped by far too quickly, and the nights even more so. (And the nights had been...) There hadn't been enough time, she thought. Hadn't been nearly enough of him. Summer, for once, had been too short and too little. For the first time she could remember, Holland longed for more of summer's relentless sprawl. (And she thought: There will never be enough of Nate, for as long as I live.) Another month gone. And Holland wondered if they would run out of time before she worked up the courage to tell him that she— well. That he meant more than she’d intended for him to mean.

home;
pairing: Nathaniel Sewell x the Detective synopsis: (Somewhere in Book 3,) After a night of sleep for all of Unit Bravo (humor me), Nate insists on seeing the Detective off when they leave the Warehouse for the police station. The Detective muses about home.
“Mmm,” you hum against Nate’s lips, resolve forcing you to lift your hands from his waist to his chest so that you can pull away. Your words are framed with soft laughter as you force yourself to say them. “Okay, I really have to go now.”
The rays of the summer morning sun peek through the canopy of trees surrounding the clearing around the warehouse, making Nate’s skin look as if he’s glowing. You hear Morgan’s voice somewhere in your head, arguing with no malice that Maybe you’re just that in love with him. You can hear a smirk in her voice to boot. And maybe you are just that in love with him. Your heart, let alone your mind, can’t help the smile that tugs at the corners of your mouth as you gaze at the tall vampire, suddenly thankful once again that real vampires aren’t like the vampires of myth. You get to enjoy how he looks in the glow of the morning; see the soft breeze play with his brown hair like you had done earlier in the morning. You refrain from following suit now, though, because then you really wouldn’t be able to leave.
At your words, he opens his eyes slowly. Something akin to sadness swims and swirls inside the warmth of them, but he smiles gently nonetheless. For a moment, you wonder protectively with a heavy heart about what, besides you leaving, makes him sad. “Do you?” He asks, no real force behind the question. “You’re welcome to stay home for one more day, you know.”
Home. Your heart flutters when he calls the warehouse that.
You let out a soft breath of laughter, and it draws Nate close once more, nestling the tip of his nose in your cheek as his smile grows. Your chest tightens with sadness at his words— how you wished you could stay. But your town needed you. You were meant to keep them safe, and all you did was be the cause of their loved ones going missing. You wished you could stay. You wished everything was fine in Wayhaven so that you couldstay.
The thoughts have your smile fading just a bit, your gaze dropping to the ground. But the way Nate pulls you even closer to him has you forgetting them until all you’re thinking of is him.
And how you don’t want to leave him.
“Nate,” you laugh again in protest. Despite the facade you were trying to keep up, your arms find their way around his neck in a loose embrace. “I’m going to be late now…”
This time when he pulls away, he laughs. Heaves a little, albeit still dramatic, sigh.
And surely it’s meant to tug at your heart (it does).
You smile.
He smiles too.
“Okay,” he says with another sigh, running a hand over his hair, then letting it rest at the back of his neck.
“Okay?” You confirm, eyebrows raised. Feeling the chill the breeze brings along with it now that he’s no longer holding you.
As if thinking, he purses his lips for a moment then nods and smiles reassuringly. “Yes,” he says with a laugh. “Now go.”
You reflect his smile. “All right…” You take a step back. “I’ll be home again before you even notice I’m gone.”
A couple weeks ago, home was your apartment. Home was Wayhaven. Nate calls the warehouse your home. But maybe…
Maybe home wasn’t really any of those places, or maybe it was. Maybe home was him. Nathaniel Sewell.
Nate’s eyes widen when you call the warehouse ‘home,’ but soon enough, the surprise is melting into a soft, gentle gaze. He highly doubts you could be home again before he notices you’re gone— he already misses you.
And he’s tempted to tell you just as much, but instead he just squints teasingly at you as he watches you walk back towards your car. The teasing look softens when you finally stop walking backwards and turn around. He pushes his hands into the pockets of his green pajama pants to keep from reaching out for you again.
His soft words float on the morning breeze, dancing as they make their way over to you and beckon you to turn around once more just as you reach your car.
Your eyes meet his, noticing their haziness; hazy again but not with sleep… “See you soon, ya rouhi.”
… with love.
He’s got this warmth washing over you even though he’s standing yards away— something only he can make possible. It washes over you and makes you feel as if you’re melting in the best way possible. Like sinking into a warm bath after a long day or burrowing yourself under a blanket for a nap. You bite down on your lower lip, trying to keep the smile on your lips from growing any wider. Searching and failing to find it in you to speak, you nod.
You reach for the car door handle halfheartedly, giving him a little wave with your other hand. He mimics it before his hand disappears into his pocket again.
Because if he hadn’t done so, then he really would be walking over to you. He really would reach out to you and take your hand, pulling you gently out of the car so he could hold you once more. You’ve got his heart in your hands, after all. Even as you buckle yourself into your little car and start the engine. How was he to stop himself from following after it?
He catches your eye through the windshield. Faintly hears your heart thud in your chest the moment your gazes connect. A smile spreads across his face at the sound, and he lets out a breath of laughter as it does.
I love you, Nate mouths to you over the sound of your car’s engine.
——————————
“That’s gotta be the longest goodbye,” Farah says with a grin, watching from the window of the common room as the Detective’s car rolls away. She watches Nate finally turn around and make his way back inside.
“You creep,” Morgan comments, plopping herself down on a chair and sighing. “Why are you watching them?”
It’s not really a question.
“That took like ten minutes! It’s like he’s sending them off to war or something.” Farah snickers at her own joke, surely waking the commanding agent if he’s not already up and about by now (he is).
Morgan lifts her foot and rests it on Nate’s coffee table, a smirk making its way to her face. “Watch it be fifteen tomorrow.”
“Is that a bet? I think it’s a—“
“You have a gambling addiction,” comes the voice of Adam as he steps into the room.
“Come on, Adam,” Farah laughs, leaning back against the wall and crossing her arms with a bright smile. “What’ll it be? I’m betting twenty minutes. Morgan’s got fifteen.”
Morgan’s gaze shifts to Adam, an eyebrow raised. The blond crosses his arms as well as he looks at Farah.
A moment of silence.
The vampires hear Nate’s footsteps as he make his way to them.
Then, Adam smirks.
“Thirty.”
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing!”
“Is your foot on my table?”
“Yeah right…”

Under the cut is a snippet from the selkie au that i swear i haven't abandoned, lol
For a few months, she thought she managed to break away from her doomed fate by learning how to love the sea instead of trembling in fear. The ocean came to her on two legs, wrapped in a seal skin, and with a hunger for knowledge she wanted more than anything to know and understand and satiate. She found something beautiful that she wanted to keep safe and close to her. She almost believed she was free.
It turns out it was just the low tide. But the water is coming back in.
Natalie Sewell has been bound to the sea for as long as it has been a part of her family name, unable to escape, unable to pull herself back to dry land. It just took her too long to notice until the water was already over her head.
The first time she sees it, she finds Marin wandering the halls at night.
Nat’s dreams are haunted by the wind lashing against the warehouse. It’s a heavy storm, laden with precipitation, the likes of which Wayhaven only sees twice a year: at the end of fall and the end of summer, though this November weather is so much colder than the rain that will batter the town later on. The sounds have managed to sneak their way into her head, tossing her about on a deck ship slick-soaked with moisture. Dream-Nat can’t tell if it’s wet because of the rain, or the sea, or the blood. Something tells her it is all three. Her screams are lost with each world-shaking clap of thunder and something hot and red is smeared across her face, and—
She wakes with a gasp at a terrible rumble from the heavens, one hand reaching for the other half of the bed, where Marin always has been ever since they made this place their home, too. Once she feels the solid weight of them under the blanket, her racing heart will stop and her mind will settle. All she has to do is touch them. She just…
There is nothing there. The other half of the bed is cold. Cold and empty.

2 Truths and a Lie (The Wayhaven Chronicles)
Results!
1. Truth - While its still not perfect and ideal it's a nice medium to have music that Hayat loves but isn't gonna assault Mason's senses in the same manner. Hayat just can't stand total silence so its a bit of a must. 2. Truth - When he first moved out she would visit and would complain that the tea didn't taste the same because it wasn't like the ones at home, but no way was she going to let him have one of hers! When visiting Wayhaven one summer there was an outdoor market/art fair and the person that originally made her cups was there so he had one specially made for her. Well four just in case any broke or got lost. Felix once tried to use one and it was a bit of a comedy bit in stopping him from using them. 3. Lie - And he has no intention of ever kissing that man again! While Bobby has tried he's had no luck.

Omg when I saw that dress my exact first thought was "Suri wedding dress!!".
While I'm here in your inbox: Do you have Nuri wedding headcanons?
Hello hello PD! Ah! I am so happy that the dress made you think of Suri’s wedding dress 🥹. Truly, great minds think alike!
Wedding headcanons!
So, if I had my way, Suri would enter the Agency as Agent Batra-Sewell (for many reasons, but importantly, she doesn’t want the same title as Rebecca)
And is it too soon for Nate and Suri to get married after book three? No. They’ve already said they love each other, they’ve consummated their love at a picnic and on the communal pool table. They’ve lived together, with four roommates. And saved each other’s lives multiple times. Sure, he is too nervous to tell her his big huge secret but it’s going to take a lot more than a big, terrible thing to scare her away
Importantly, they’re both impulsive
Nate and Suri absolutely elope. It’s a sweeping notion, it’s romantic. It’s love. They don’t tell anyone, except they’ll call Adam on the way home from the chapel (and surely, the city has a very pretty all hours chapel that can accommodate them)
Of course, Nate has his wedding binders, and they will likely have a more formal wedding, because they want to celebrate their love more, and because it’s what he wants (she wanted the elopement). It’ll be at the small chapel in Wayhaven (secular). And the town will be invited to a big festival/block party sort of thing - the town raised Suri, and this will be her way of thanking them
In addition to the gorgeous gown with the flowers, here are some other wedding looks!
And of course! @dasburnfrau wrote an incredible story about Nuri getting eloped for the summer wayhaven summer exchange
#thank you so much for asking !!#btw suri will be obnoxious if anyone calls her agent batra and not batra-sewell#eloping >> small chapel wedding sorry nate#ask#twc#twc headcanons#nate x detective#otp: nuri

Charlie is frowning at the inadequate selection of apples at the marketplace, her hand resting on her belly over her chiffon summer dress when she hears Nate calling her name in the crowd.
She turns around with an exasperated sigh, a half-smile on her face and scans the mass of people for her husband, but Nate must be somewhere further in the crowd, because she can't see his towering frame anywhere near her. But he will find her soon enough.
She left him at the book stall where he was distracted enough for her to slip away for a moment. She intendented to go back to him before he noticed her disappearance, but she got hungry and left to find a snack at the food section of the market.
The owner of the fruit stall is glaring at her, so Charlie quickly points out the most juicy looking apple and pays for it, before Nate appears from the crowd with a worried frown on his brow.
For a moment Charlie just stares at him; she will never get used to how attractive he is and they've known each other for three years. His hair is tied up in a knot and he's wearing a pure white t-shirt and jean shorts. He kind of looks like a dad.
Which is lucky because he will be one soon.
“Charlotte!” Nate says, when he reaches her and immediately pulls her into a loving hug. “You're alright.”
Charlie can't help the snort that she lets out. “Yes, I am. I'm not lying dead in a ditch somewhere, don't you worry, dearest.”
Nate scowls. “Don't even joke about that,” he says and lays a protective hand on her stomach.
Charlie chuckles and covers Nate's hand with her own, patting it reassuringly. “I was gone for ten minutes,” she says gently.
“Fifteen,” Nate huffs and shakes his head. “That’s fifteen too many.”
“I'm pretty sure we're safe enough at the moment,” Charlie points out, when Nate bends down to kiss her forehead, cradling her closer to him.
“Maybe,” Nate admits a little reluctantly. He takes Charlie's hands to his own, rubbing a thumb against her knuckle. “But I would still prefer you would remain close by.”
“You know I can take care of myself,” Charlie reminds him, but her tone comes out mostly fond instead of firm like she attempted. This is a conversation they’ve had for countless of times in the last six months, but so far nothing has changed.
Nate starts leading her away from the crowd and Charlie bites into the apple she bought earlier. It’s dry and sour and she grimaces after the first taste.
“I know,” Nate says, so softly Charlie can barely hear it through all the noise around them. “But I can't help but worry.”
He stops walking and spins around to look at her properly and takes her hands, the bitten apple rolling from her hand on to the stone paving. There's something in his gaze Charlie can’t read. Something desperate and insurmountable.
“You're carrying my child,” he says. “Our child. That means I can barely think beyond the worry I constantly feel when you're not near. I'm so afraid of losing you both that it's almost making me lose my sanity and all reason.”
Charlie swallows. She can feel her eyes starting to water. Damn pregnancy hormones. “Nate…”
“I know,” Nate murmurs before she can open her mouth, smiling softly down at her, pressing a kiss to their linked hands. “I will work on it. I promise.”
Charlie nods, something inside her chest soaring. “Thank you,” she answers, because she knows that Nate means it and that’s enough for her.
Then she looks sadly at the dropped apple on the ground. It may have been dry and sour, but she’s still hungry like… well, a woman who’s eating for two.
“I'm hungry,” Charlie says and Nate laughs so loudly a few people close to them flinch and give him the dirty eye. He throws them a sheepish smile and gets a few starstruck looks back, which makes Charlie roll her eyes affectionately.
“Let's go home, ya rouhi,” he replies, guiding her towards the car. “I'll cook.”

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 09/August/2024
I have to start this week’s update off with the most MASSIVE and heartfelt thank you to my amazing patrons! Not only for their amazing support so as Wayhaven can happen, but for their incredible and generous comments on the demo!
And speaking of the demo, the public release of Chapter Two of Book Four will be tomorrow! So majorly hyped for everyone to get a chance to see what’s coming up :D A lot happens in this chapter to set up the story as well as the villain’s introduction…😊
This week, whilst working on polishing up bits of the demo, it was social media days! Had great fun with the Tumblr asks—some really fun ones this month, as well as some lore and character ones that let me sneak in a couple of foreshadowing things…hehe! ;D
The first of Summer Scenario Specials also went up on Patreon! It was Mason/Morgan’s trip to the spa, which took an unexpected turn, lol!
Then it was trying to mop up all the extra things I have to do so I can get back to full-on writing! There’s a lot of goals I want to tick off over the coming week with the writing, and I’ll be starting that tomorrow too. I can really push ahead now the demo is out!
Hope you all have the most amazing weekend and enjoy the demo if you get the chance to check it out! We’ll be offline as usual, so I’ll update you all again next week <3
