I use to always bring tarts to the events that I was vending for people who loved candles but couldn’t have lit candles around. I was so excited to learn I’d be reviewing a wax melts subscription box this September.  Not least because I’m a lover of candles and melts, mainly because in a house of children and pets they are a welcoming smell!

Enter WaxBox……with its array of products and delightful smells.

WaxBox is a monthly subscription box providing a mixture of melts, tarts and small candles from a wide selection of brands.  The value of the box can vary from month to month, however you are guaranteed to receive a box value meeting or exceeding what you have paid.  There are 2 boxes available, standard and bigger, both available on a rolling subscription of which you have complete control over.  Billing takes place on the last day of the month, shipping takes place on or around the 8th of the month.  Postage is via Royal Mail 2nd class signed for service, providing peace of mind as a subscriber.

Bigger WaxBox £15.00 + £3.95 postage

I can honestly say after receiving and unboxing, the contents smells amazing!

  Enclosed in orange tissue paper I was greeted with a sublime mixture of melts, tartlets and votive candles.  Upon taking a closer look I also noticed within the box a selection of WaxBox own melts.  They are a generous sized melt, presented professionally with clear packaging making them appealing to the eye.

So, what’s in the box??

These melts smell amazing!

I received a mixture of wax melt cups and individual melts, all differing scents which can be used in different areas of the home.  Clean, streamlined packaging makes these melts stand out in the box immediately.  Whilst unboxing and smelling the differing scents I was struck by how balanced the fragrances were, not too potent yet just enough to create a lasting and gentle smell.  I received the following scents within the subscription box:

English Pear & Vanilla

An Evening Stroll

Fireside

Crème Brulee

Baby Powder

Raining Men

    Wax Melt Bakery Melts x 2  R.R.P. £1.30 each 

With a notable nod to food, these melts have an autumn feel to them.  Warming spices and sweet scents remind you how aptly placed they are in this September box.  If I was forced to pick a favourite it would have to be the Fall Dreams for its beautiful glitter and relaxing scent.  I received the following scents within the subscription box:

  Heart & Home Wax Melts x 2  R.R.P. £1.49 each

I received two melts from the Heart & Home brand, Dawn Mist and Mediterranean Fig.  The latter is a sweet scent, not out of place within a kitchen, whilst Dawn Mist is a refreshing and clean scent.

Bridgewater Candle Company Votive Candle x 2  R.R.P. £2.49

Both votive candles are of a generous size and gentle in scent.  Storybook Dreams is a gentle fragrance, similar to a musky scent.  Remember When is very warming with its gentle notes of cinnamon, reminding me of my favourite pastry – cinnamon swirls!

Fragrantasia Wax Melts x 2  R.R.P. £1.00 each

Comprised of 4 mini melts in each bag these star shaped delights are sweet in scent.  The option of using one or more gives you the opportunity to build upon the fragrance whilst burning.  Mermaids Wash Day is sweet and clean smelling whilst Enchanted Forest reminds me of sweets from my childhood.

YourScents Wax Melts x 2  R.R.P. £1.20 each

These homemade wax melts have a food theme, aptly named Classy Tart and Sticky Toffee Pudding.  With its punchy lemon scent and vibrant yellow glittery appearance this melt wouldn’t be out of place in your kitchen.  Sticky Toffee Pudding, warming and reminiscent of my childhood brought a smile to my face.

  I’m really impressed with this subscription box and its wide selection of fragrances for the home.  This would make a fantastic gift for a candle lover, giving the opportunity to try new scents and brands never previously heard of.  If I had to select a favourite melt from the subscription box…….it would have to be WaxBox Baby Powder!

The total value of items in this box is approximately £23.96, which is amazing considering this is actually the Bigger WaxBox priced at £18.95 including postage and packaging. That is a total saving of just over £5!
