Vibe Wednesday babyyyy!

This time continuing with cool videogames with killer soundtracks: Furi, by The Game Bakers!

I played through this game a few years ago, after buying it for extremally cheap and recognizing Carpenter Brut's logo under the soundtrack section. Turns out it was the best 5$ I've spent on a game.

I'm a sucker for neon lights, sparks and flashy visuals and not a single thing in the game disappointed me. Played through it like 4 or 5 times in total, it's always a blast.

And, of course, the soundtrack.

If names like Carpenter Brut, Waveshaper, Lorn, The Toxic Avenger or Scattle ring a bell, you're in for a blast.

Every single one of them did an amazing job and this meme applies to every artist that contributed to the OST.

Of course, I highly encourage everyone to give the game a try, or at least give the soundtrack a listen. (I even have a link straight to it for you)

The first of many with this beauty - vocal waveshaping

Not a whole lot to say here, but after a few sessions I'm starting to record explorations with the Voltage Lab 2. Both the voice module and the controller are so deep and robust, and a few things work slightly unintuitively in my opinion, so it's very academic right now in terms of reading a section of the manual, exploring, and repeating. The fully modular approach is amazing, but it really makes learning the system more like learning 8 new modules and a complicated sequencer instead of learning a single synth, which takes time to learn.

It's really satisfying though, I'm definitely looking forward to using it with some additional effects from my other cases as well as using it with other voices to make more complete songs. At the same time, this feels in some ways to not be doing the instrument justice - it's so performable that I'm tempted to stick with it standalone or with minimal accompaniment for as long as possible to see what I can squeeze out of it.
