Started out on a cruise ship. Older style but touted all sorts of steampunk contrivances. Anything you could dream of. Just be good to the staff and you can drink liquid sunshine or have new springs put in your spine. I was for some reason an asshat. This did not last long, as I was a dick and then sent to the bowels of the ship and turned into staff, but escaped before the mental conditioning. Why this ship had a bimbofication factory in the lower decks? A dream mystery. My friends, remained onboard- one mistake away from belowdecks.

We were docked near an island of wilds with few settlements. I found some friends but the monsters were huge. There were ruins of failed attempts at cities and technology. Dinosaurs, leviathans, demons that rose from what should have been solid ground, packs of hungry saw toothed toads that flew in packa and blacked out the sky. You can only seek shelter, and listen to their tongues beating like hail trying to find you. Don’t touch the spit, it burns. There were hunting parties after us. But maybe we could get rescued if I repaired the radio in an old bunker. It was also an old attempt at a research station at an even older dam with a trapped and angry waterbeast. So I did, only lost one friend, and then we had to flee into the mountain jungle trying to avoid the hunters and be found by friends (both of whom could hear the radio).

We were found by friends- who were then all overpowered by hunters and brought back to the ship.

Lower decks had been taken over by a nastier woman, a cruel one, who wanted to punish to hurt not correct. I kept my mind so that I could know agony as I was conditioned to obey anyway and watch my friends lose theirs.

Next escape was thus just me. I was in a town with a recent influx of people. It was a mix of victorian and western and scientific magic next to the other end of the horrific junglyforest. The poor mined it for wood and creature parts and the rich died hunting. The waterway with the creature extended here now thanks to my previous fucking with the dam. (For some reason I was now aware that had I made other choices this overworld would look different. Branching choice pathways in a dream. Jfc.) My contact was a previously known doctor (he was a geologist from act one mentally fucked with by the underdecks and I could get help as long as I balanced his mental state- not too much fucking with his conditioning or he will go mad and start jekyll-and-hyde killing people or some shit) and he would know me by my leaving matches after a visit- after I found matches to leave. I barely managed the escape. First I had to scrounge as my pockets were empty and I was broke. It was evening. The night market stalls were vacant, but had wards that would yell or summon people or hold you or worse if messed with. I picked through them anyway, carefully, for items I could use wisely to learn about the people and politics of where I was.

I had the feeling I would be here for a while- and maybe even get passage through the walls into the main citadel?

I've done an oopsie when roleplaying Circe.

I didn't do much research and just did some out of the blue headcanons from my very brief memory of her. So now when I did a Google research it turns out she's either a Goddess, a nymph, a witch or partly a Goddes. I've basically described her having a humble beginning even though some source says she was born royalty and is either a daughter or granddaughter to the sun god Helios :'3

Appearantly she has water nymphs by her side and is the cause for the existence of Scylla. In one story Circe fell in love with a guy but in the end he was more interrested in Scylla who was a mortal woman. Circe then turned her into the fearsome waterbeast who has a big role later on.

Circe seem to have had some male lovers and had some children, among the lovers were Hermes and Odysseus.

My...version of Circe is honestly a misandrist who only truly respect women. So I'm not sure how much of the mythology material I want. It could be fun to pick some stuff and twist it in a fun way. I need to do some more proper research before changing or adding things according to Greek mythology.

Strange straw structures have erected themselves around the island over night. To the north standing tall enough to be seen past a forest is a straw rat. To the south, tall as the trees is a straw turkey. To the east and west the strawfigures sit between the two heights, one a hound and the other a tigershark. All are decked in winter’s feast ribbons, though a closer inspection may bring forth the word “bound” instead. Never the less they are inanimate and flammable.

"WHAT KIND OF HORROR EVENT IS HAPPENING NOW?" Frankly, WX is still a littlw shaken over the massive floating, veiny eyeballs with teeth. No eye should have teeth.

At least this display isn't... freakish, but it's certainly strange. They know humans like to make statues of stone based on the various beasts they killed, but... straw? That won't last. And depicting vermin, some fat bird, a pesky dog, and a horrid waterbeast? Who did this?? That's a lot of perfectly good grass that could be going into rope for helmets and spears!

And the ribbon. Why do they need to be "pretty"?

Though knowing any time something new and strange pops up, there's always something horrible to follow it. WX keeps their distance, waiting for something to happen. Maybe they come alive, maybe monsters burst out of them.

Maybe it's something WX can't even imagine. Who knows, anymore?
