watchoutfordinosaurs replied to your post “I love cartoons. No other form of media has given me greater comfort...”
I love cartoons too! Have you seen Steven Universe? Or Gravity Falls?
I have seen them both! Steven Universe is probably my favorite animated series after Avatar. Possibly tied for second with Batman: TAS. Batman was always there for me after school. I had some grade school bullies that were pretty relentless and Kevin Conroy’s powerful baritone melted away all of my problems. I’d imagine I was Batman and stand up to the bullies in my mind. Gave me courage to face them the next day.
Steven Universe holds a special place in my heart because I finally got to feel what representation means to people. As a straight white dude, I felt represented pretty thoroughly. I knew representation was important, but it can be hard to truly empathize until you experience it for yourself. But then I saw a chubby kid in a cartoon that wasn’t there solely for comic relief. It gave me this warm fuzzy feeling I never had before. He wasn’t the “fat friend” sidekick cracking jokes and tripping over himself. Steven was the hero! I know it isn’t quite the same as other kinds of representation. But it was enough to make me realize just how important seeing yourself in forms of media can be.
Gravity Falls was brilliant. I understand why Alex Hirsch wanted to end it on a high note. But I could have used another season or 12 to be honest. It was just so creative and beautifully animated. Kristen Schaal is one of my favorite comedic voice actresses. Her work on Gravity Falls and Bob’s Burgers always puts a big grin on my face. I’m glad it got a proper ending with a satisfying conclusion. And I hope someday Alex revisits the series with a movie or something. I can definitely see Gravity Falls being in my yearly rotation of cartoons to rewatch.
I’d like to give an honorable mention to Over the Garden Wall. If any of you folks haven’t seen this, I highly recommend it. I suppose it was the kind of weird that I do enjoy. It is a one season self contained story. It was never meant to continue on past that. I think it would be neat if there were more stories presented this way. You can delve deeper than a normal movie, but you can avoid the pitfalls of an ongoing series. No cliffhangers. No writer fatigue. The animation was beautiful. It had some haunting music that I loved. It could be scary without getting too intense. The cast was wonderful. And it was truly unique.
I could talk about cartoons all day. But I am tired so I think I’ll stop here for now.

1. Do you like anime? What shows do you like? 2. If you could have a Giant Ridiculous Pet would you rather have a horse or a flock of crows?
I do, but I wouldn’t describe myself as a fan.  I used to sort of be, but that was back in the 90s, the days of the KMFDM Manga Video trailer and Blockbuster, when it was loosely possible to be a semi-literate anime fan with very little effort because the total amount of anime available here was much less.  I had a friend who was very into anime and so I got a lot of exposure to stuff like Tenchi Muyo and Lum and the like.
I would rather have a flock of crows!  Especially if I could even sort-of dictate their behavior!  Much lower-maintenance than a horse, much more intimidating!  Plus, MORE FRIENDS!  I love crows so much.  I have fantasies about becoming one of those people who befriends a local flock and they take to bringing me shiny gifts.

The 'leviathan' part sounds amazing!
ASOdjasoj thank you! Terrence using “Leviathan” as his pen name is inspired by the book “Leviathan” by English political theorist Thomas Hobbes in the 1600s, one of the first books to say that one should have total obedience to a monarch or head of state, but not because they’re actually divine or have divine right.
Also, the name he chooses hints at a larger mystery behind Antylia: how does a fantasy island that Thea needs to get to from our world via magic have access to 17th c. works of political philosophy?

'Watch Out For Dinosaurs' is the name i like best among some inside Son Doong and the most suitable as well. This corner under doline 1 looks similar to the scene in Jurassic Park and you would have that thought in mind when approaching 'is there dinosaur here really, who knows'. #vietnam #🇻🇳 #quangbinh #phongnhakebang #sondoong #largestcaveintheworld #doline1 #watchoutfordinosaurs #caving #adventure #underground #expedition #goproselfie #goprolifestyle (at Sơn Đoòng Cave)

Does Todd know how Bucky found him?
This one’s been covered more than once. Yes, he does. At a very young age he knows he was adopted, once he’s a little older it’s explained to him that his mom passed away and his dad wasn’t able to take care of him, and when he’s older than that he gets the full details.

1. Black Panther, so amazing. Have you seen it? 2. Did you play with Legos as a kid and if yes what was your favourite thing to build? I always made towers taller then me. Didn't care about style or design, it was all about height. 3. If you could jump into a movie and live there, which one would you pick? 4. Have you ever had head lice? 5. What books have you been reading?
We finally saw Black Panther!  I was saving this ask until we had.  I loved it!  It totally deserves the hype.
I still love Legos. I used to make houses, complete with windows and rooms inside, little domestic scenes.  I also made Tall Lego Stacks.  There’s something irresistible about it.  Gotta make it tall!  Cool themed Lego sets were only JUST coming into vogue when I aged out of them.  I mostly just had the basic primary-color brick sets.
I don’t know about the movie thing because lots of movies I like aren’t movies I’d like to live in, necessarily. So I’d probably pick something like Enchanted, which would guarantee me musical numbers and a happy ending and animal companions.  If I could live in any TV series, it’d be Leverage, because I feel like we could really use Nathan Ford and his team right now.
I’ve had head lice on two occasions.  They’re awful.  It’s not, like, a hygiene thing, they’re just REALLY easy to catch.  Fortunately I had no trouble getting rid of them both times.
I just finished both of Caitlin Doughty’s books. She’s the brains and beauty behind my beloved Ask A Mortician channel on Youtube. She also has a Patreon. I found both books thought-provoking, informative, and very moving.  I am working my way through Seanan McGuire’s and Cherie Priest’s back catalogs, all the stuff I missed the first time, so that’s taking some time.  And I’m trying very hard to make myself finish a book of short stories by Laird Barron, but I keep thinking of DICK HARDBOILED and I have to put the book down and rub gently between my eyes.  I don’t want to be nasty but I think I can safely say that it is very much not for me, and unless you don’t mind sexism in your noir weird tales, and the occasional teeny tiny sprinkle of racism, it’s probably not for you either.

How about Thorin/Bilbo 43? (PS Something Blue is my favourite story ever ever ever ^_^)
Aww, thank you so much!
43.) “YOU DID WHAT?”
“You did what?” Bilbo asks, just to clarify.
“I sent a missive to the Shire,” Balin replies, not looking up from his papers. “Announcing the marriage. I sent it with an envoy to secure your home and your belongings.”
Bilbo purses his lips, and tries to find words. “You did what?” he asks again.
“I thought I was helping,” Balin says, looking up now. “Was I not?”
“No, I dare say you didn’t help anything.” The truth is, Bilbo has been trying to decide on the best course of action regarding the whole thing since everything came to a close. “The Shire is a bit different than here, Balin.”
“In what way?” Balin asks. “Is there some sort of ceremony, or ritual you have to have?”
“No, not in that sense,” Bilbo says, and hesitates again. How to best put this without possibly offending Balin? “What Thorin and I are…it’s not done, you see? It’s simply not done.” And Bilbo will likely not be very welcome in the Shire now. Oh, there won’t be anything too dramatic, but he won’t expect any visitors for tea, if he ever does get a chance to return. He had hoped he would, but now it seems that’s a lost cause. “Thorin and I are both a ‘mister’.”
“What does that have to do with the price of rubies?” Balin finds whatever tome he’s been looking for amongst the collection on the shelves built into the walls. He opens it, squinting at the text. “Have you seen Ori? I cannot make out this print, it’s too small, and he was supposed to be here an hour ago.”
“Balin, you don’t understand,” Bilbo tries to change the subject back. “The envoy will likely not even be allowed near my smial.”
“Bilbo, we managed to get our way into your smial, and we were being polite,” Balin reminds him. “The envoy is armed. And not in a particularly good mood, since they are being waylaid through the Shire on their way to Ered Luin. They’re eager to arrive, and find their families. They’re Iron Hills Dwarrows. Some of them haven’t been reunited with their full families for over a century. If they have to, they’ll just take everything.”
That sounds like Dwarves. It really does.
“If I see Ori, I’ll remind him you’re waiting,” Bilbo says, stepping out of Balin’s makeshift office.
That afternoon, he sits and writes a letter to his Uncle Longo, and his gardener, Gamgee. He tells Longo of all that’s transpired, his own account, with as few details as possible, in order to soften the blow, and writes of his intentions. He tells Gamgee that he would like him to continue to keep care of the property, and writes a note to himself to include payment in the letter. He’ll have Glóin hammer out some gold sheets to include.
By the time he’s done, Thorin has joined him, resting a hand on the nape of Bilbo’s neck. “Hello, darling,” he greets, the endearment in his own language, but understood well enough. “How has your day been?”
“Fine,” Bilbo answers, turning his face up for a kiss. “Fine.”
Because it doesn’t matter, really. The truth is, Bilbo made his choice a long time ago. No matter what, he chooses Thorin, over any piece of crockery, any doily, and armchair.
