Not quite from a year ago but it's fiiine...
If my memory serves me correctly, the first Rise stuffs I ever did was redrawing screenshots of Leo from the movie. How fitting~

Idk what’s funnier: the fact that I’ve seen wicked three times in four days, or the fact that I’ve only seen it three times bc I’m the first pick on multiple people’s “who to watch wicked with” list

This could be the worst disaster NASA's ever experienced. With all due respect, sir, I believe this is gonna be our finest hour.

Haunted Car Au part 13
Previous. Masterpost
“You done figuring out the sound files yet?” Duke asked while tapping on the hood of the Batmobile.
He was excited to hear a campy “Yes, Sir!” Come out of the open windows of the car.
“Neat, first off, any files that have your name in it?” He was a little disappointed, but still snorted to hear the tragic ‘Noooooo’ from Darth Vader.
“I think Red Robin has some pronoun type files in there, what are yours?” A mix of sir’s, dude's, and bro's were played until Duke had to stop the guy.
“Ok, what about age?” He wasn't expecting to get a straight answer, but when the car played a Scooby-Doo cut of ‘those meddling kids’, he was confused.
“So a kid?” Duke questioned. He got a weird mix of 'Ehhh', 'Kinda', and 'close enough' type files.
“We can worry about that later, any ideas how you got stuck?” A short ‘Nope’ with a pop on the P played.
Talking to the car guy was strange. Getting answers could be easy or turn into 20 questions trying to clarify an answer. So far, Duke knew the person:
is male or male presenting
a meta
has no clue how he possessed the car
has a good understanding of current memes
was possibly in their teens (probably a bit younger than Duke, but older than Daimian)
was a street kid? (When asked where he lived the car played “Why should I worry” from an older Disney movie about homeless animals in New York or something. He had to look it up.)
has a good sense of humor
and is taking their situation in stride.
Duke really had to wonder what their life has been where this is not a vast problem to fix…. And whether or not he should argue his ‘notification tone’ being a choir singing.
He really does not get paid enough for this, but it is better than the other stuff Gotham throws at the Bats.
“Mind if I get you up on the lift and check the engine? Might give us some clues.” After an affirmative from the car guy, Duke got to work.

Buck's favorite book growing up was Matilda. He felt so seen in the pages of that book, even if everyone told him he wasn't smart like she was. He hoped one day that he, too, would get exceptional powers, and be able to leave his parents behind. Until then he lost himself in the pages of the book.
He borrowed the book from the library so many times that one day when he went to check it out for the sixth time in a row, the library stopped him and handed him his own copy. "Here, Evan, I noticed you really like this book, but we have to let the other children have a chance to read it, too." And not only does she give him a brand new copy of the book, but also a sticker from him to place inside of it that says 'this book belongs to' and a space for him to put his name, so that if it ever gets lost it can find it's way back to him.
That brand new copy becomes one of his most treasured possessions. It gets worn out over the years, becoming taped, tattered, and even stained in a few places from fingers covered in melted chocolate. The cover fell off and was taped back on by the very same librarian who gave it to him. She taught him how to fix the book, when it became clear that he didn't want a new copy, he wanted this one. (And he was so sorry that it had gotten so worn out, Miss Karen, please don't be mad. And she smiled and told him not to worry, Evan, it was just the sign of a well loved book, and she showed him all the library books that she was repairing. See, even library books get worn out.) Over the years the book gains a healthy amount of tape on the spine and loses the back cover entirely.
But never, not once, does Buck ever think of replacing the book with a new copy, and it travels all across the country, and to Peru, with him, wrapped in a t-shirt and tucked safely in his bag.

everything everywhere all at once really said that you can be a million different people in a million different universes but in every one the thing you desire most will be companionship and in every single one you will have to fight for that companionship and in every single one you will realize that the fight has to be made of kindness and love or you will despair and lose all hope. and then they said that the only thing that can save every universe is reaching out your hand when someone offers it to you, and that you have to offer your hand to someone, even when they tell you to give up. and also they named their villain joy and the villain wasn't trying to destory anything she was just looking for her mom and she changed her name but across every universe her mom realized that in the middle of all the despair and destruction her greatest joy was still her daughter. i'm unwell
