"my life is a lie!" the voice of your oldest son echoed through the hall and into the living room. you didn't bat an eye as his antics, because you knew every time he went to hang out at his uncle denki and aunt jirou's house he came home talking about some new crazy story. though he'd usually wait to talk about it until he was in the same room as you all.

izuku and yutaka, your middle child, raised their heads at the sound of the door slamming behind him.

"koji, you've barely stepped through the door and you're already yelling. mayuka was finally eating" you shifted your youngest head back towards you chest. she had been startled by the door but you were able to calm her by gently rubbing your thumb against her cheek.

"sorry" koji mumbled going to stand in the very middle of the living room so he could get a good look at you all "but i still can't believe i've been lied to for the past twelve years, twevle years!"

izuku's eyes went from his son, then over to you. but all you could do was shrug. izuku grunted as he rose from his spot on the floor. all those years of daunting hero work along with just plain aging were catching up to him. specks of grey started to show, but he attempted to hide them with the green he still had.

"okay koji. what are you freaking out about?"

"i don't know, maybe the fact that you guys almost never got married?!"

now if there was one thing you were expecting to come out of his mouth, it wasn't that.

"did denki tell you about that?" you asked watching as he was now pacing the room back and forth.

"yeah! and i'm glad he told me because it seems like you guys were never going to let me know!"

yutaka looked up from his tablet “mommy and daddy weren’t gonna get married? why?”

izuku put his hands up before koji could go off again “listen, your aunt ochako and i weren’t very good at relationships back then and-“

“what does aunt ochako have to do with this?” koji’s face went from confusion to surprise “you were going to marry aunt ochako! what the heck!”

the tips of izuku’s ears went pink as he heard his surprise “i thought denki told you everything!”

“he only told me that you guys almost never got married! when i asked for more details he said that’s none of his business”

you snorted going to fix your bra since mayuka had finished eating “since when does denki mind his buisness”

“that’s what i said!” koji threw his arms up going to sit in between the two of you “okay so you guys gotta tell me everything! start to finish”

“i don’t know koji. i mean i need mom to tell the story with me and she’s kind of busy so-“

“i got time” you laid mayuka on one side of your body making sure her head was over your shoulder “may takes her time to burp” izuku gave you a look which you smiled at “i love you!”

izuku rolled his eyes before finally nodding “fine we’ll tell you the story. c’mere taka” he held his arms out which his son happily jumped into. after he got him settled on his lap he started on the story of how the two of you got together. the toast, the argument, and the rekindling all in one short (kid friendly) version. of course, you felt the need to add in little details when needed “and then we got married and boom. you kids were born”

koji’s mouth had hung open for almost the whole story, sitting at the edge of his seat. yutaka looked rather confused.

��so..” taka looked over at the two of you “mommy took daddy from aunt ochako?”

“well, sort of. we all agreed that how things ended up were for the best. no matter how it happened”

izuku nodded his head in agreement “i love your mom and i love all of you” he tickled taka’s side making him burst out in laughter.

“i just can’t believe it” koji mumbled shaking his head.

“you better believe it kid. your dad and i are in love” you wiggled your eyebrows making koji groan “in fact, give me a kiss!” the two of you leaned in placing a dramatic kiss on each others lips. both of the boys pretended to gag as they got up.

“not in front of us! not in front of us!” they both made a mad dash upstairs making the two of you laugh.

“they get their dramatics from you” you said scooting closer to him handing over may. an offended look plastered his face.

“they do not!”

“whatever you say mr. midoryia” you leaned your head on his shoulder pulling the blanket over the two of you. you eyes scanned over the home that the two of you created. toys scattered across the living room floor. family portraits hanging on the walls, even from when koji was first born. some random, educational kids show was currently playing on your television. someone had told you that this would ‘stimulate the baby’s mind’ even though she had just popped out. both you and izuku in your matching pajamas that you had gotten for christmas. ever since mayuka was born the two of you had been too exhausted to clean. shit was a mess, but honestly, you felt no sense of stress. you two had a silent understanding that everything would be done in the time that is intended, and you wouldn’t have it any other way

“i love you” you moved your head to look up at the man you had fallen hopelessly in love with. he looked back with a tired smile, but you noticed the crinkles at the corner of his eyes.

“i love you too”

This was something that was definately on my list to redo in Afterglow, but I had been putting off just down to the sheer amount of items that would need recolouring... but now my texture defaults are done, I may as well tackle my Nihongami style kit!

Ultimatley most of the information is the same as my Pooklet texture version. To save you downloading both versions, I've included all of the non-hair texture accessories in the zip, too. Remember to pick one mesh for the Long Yue bun, the original mesh, or the edited mesh that works better with the shimada hairstyle. The only new thing really is that I made a second alpha edit of the Rose hime bangs that are shorter than the original alpha, but they don't clash and you can have both. All hairpieces are in the five Afterglow naturals in seperate labelled packages. The original bodyshop previews have the details of the different mesh variations so here are those:

you can see in the banner preview that there's a lot of ways to arrange these together, and I have a few more on display in the original post! I was watching Blue Eye Samurai a while ago, and there's a lot of shimada inspiration there, the animators took care to give the characters varying shapes and styles, so the variety is really cool to see ^^

Then I made some recolours of the base hair, the Goze Traditional Shimada. @letomills has an odd ability to intuit what I want without even asking, and made an edited version of the mesh which works better with hairlines, which is really something that disspointed me with the original mesh, so those are the meshes included! I made 3 variations on the alpha; the first is the 'original' shimada; with the shibori and the tama kanzashi. This time I made the decision to edit out the odd coin shaped kanzashi as I can't say I'm entireley sure what it was ment to be, and it was just getting in the way of nice and authentic looking styles. I also added a shibori texture to the shibori because... why was there a shibori tie with no shibori in the first place? The second alpha is the flowers one, I made the same pink and blue versions as in Leto's edit. the last is my plain, no accessories shimada, which is just hair with no extra accessories to be layered with a variety of hairpieces or just worn by itself! Lastly I thought it'd be good to do the male hairstyle that Hriveresse converted from the same pack, so I fought the mapping of traditional sumo (and the mapping won, it's horrid) to accompany the F hairs. Shimada is 3638 poly, sumo is 4048, all versions come in the original Afterglow family binned into one package each, meshes in the zips, fully compressorized.

Splatband Analysis - Hightide Era

So I was eating breakfast the other day when I found on the back of my milk carton this picture about a band being missing? Now, I think they’re exaggerating a bit on the “M.I.A.” thing. Sure, they haven’t been mentioned since Splatoon 2, where they got to cameo in the White Day artwork and are involved in the backstory for Ink Theory, but you know who else hasn’t been mentioned since Splatoon 2? SashiMori. And I don’t see anyone making a big deal about that (other than me, Nintendo, please), but I digress. Let’s talk about these losers.

The Band

Hightide Era is an indie band that developed a strong enough fanbase to get their music into the Turf War scene. The band started life with Taka performing on the street, before later being joined by Kuze, and then Nishida, in that order. One of the first things we learned is the meaning of the band's name, which refers to both the nature of the band's sound, brimming and full… and also the ecological realities of the world. Seems the band has environmental concerns they wanna draw attention to, enough to make it a part of their name. 

Taka

The band's pianist and vocalist, and the overall center of attention of the band, which is exactly what they want. They’re an incredibly talented musician, having practiced piano since the age of Four, and attended the same prestigious academy that Karen did, having been her senior while she was attending. After that, though, they grew tired of all this academic music nonsense and took to the streets to perform, which is where they met Kuze and Nishida. 

The most obvious thing to know about Taka, outright told to us in their own description, is that Taka is a shallow poser. Their main motivation for making music isn’t for any artistic merit, but just because it gets them attention and adoration. Which, considering they’ve been at it since the age of Four, is pretty concerning. Also very superficial beneath the surface. It’s an Ichiya situation, with a lot of surface level charisma concealing a superficial personality. It must be pretty effective too considering they have a dedicated fan in Karen. That desire for attention also keeps them from adding a bassist to the band, it draws attention away from the low notes they hit. What an ass.

White Day art time, we see our stinker leaning back on their chair, clearly spectating the epic battle between Tangle and Finn like a weirdo. They must get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing chaos going on around them. Or maybe they’re trying to peek at Finn? In which case they probably didn’t get to stay as a spectator for long. 

Kuze

Kuze is the drummer and a stone fish. He plays on cheap drums because it provides a very messy but powerful sound that compliments the other members trying to look cool. He probably just likes the way the drum sounds and thinks it looks cool. He’s also a fashion designer, he made the uniforms the band wears. Probably has a lot of talents in that area, too. 

He’s the third and final member of Underpass Bass Drum, so he’s an active turf player. It’d be cool if one day we got an idea as to what their weapon preferences are. Maybe they even wear a uniform too, what with him being a part of the team? Ah, I’m speculating.

White Day has him sitting with Paul and Jawn. He’s not playing the game, so he’s probably just hanging with them and watching, perhaps waiting for his turn. But there’s one thing you can see him do, and that’s giving Taka the side-eye. It gives the vibe that he knows about Taka and their shenanigans and doesn’t tolerate them too much. Or he’s just keeping an eye on them in case Finn notices and takes it as a challenge. 

Nishida

Nishida is a herring and a guitarist. They don’t like being in the spotlight, despite the stereotype revolving around guitarists. May or may not have something to do with the fact they are the youngest of 247 siblings. Like, yeah, that’s a huge ratio of sibling teasing, bullying and fawning, especially since they’re the youngest. Still, they don’t hate attention, they’ve apparently been featured in a serialized magazine that talks about their guitar skills. And apparently people they’re trying to “put on airs” (it means they act like they’re better than others, to be snobbish), when really they don’t do that… most of the time. Is it trying to say that they’re only occasionally snobbish and act egotistical?

In the White Day artwork, they are shown engaged in conversation with Taichi in the back of the bar. They’re more social than they appear, at least, but we may never know what the nature of their conversation is. #Nishida x Taichi Romance. They also brought their guitar for some reason, despite absolutely no one else bringing anything. Wonder what that’s about.

And that’s Hightide Era. I never cared about them until today, but I’m glad to say I’ve gained an appreciation for them as of this analysis. There’s something to love about everyone, even if some of them could probably use a little less attention (*cought* Taka *cough*).

We are down two bands. The Chips that Chirp, the neurodivergence squad Chirpy Chips, and everyone’s favorite band of fish freaks ω-3. I’ll go with the Chips first, and then finish with the Salmons. This is fun.

EVEN MORE AOT X DA DRABBLES CAUSE SOMETHING JUST HIT ME-

TW!!! Same as the rest of the series of posts, canon typical murder and death (AoT), along with implied thoughts of harm to ones self (it's mentioned very briefly and I don't go into extreme detail- but still, please avoid or skip past this post if you're uncomfortable with that sort of thing!!!)

Okay so Mondo would be the armored titan and one of the warriors sent to Paradis right. Physically he's the strongest out of them, and has the strongest capabilities as a leader. He still has his flaws of course, mostly his big heart and how quickly he gets attached to someone he cares about. He definitely got distracted from the mission while posing as a cadet, enjoying his freedom as a soldier instead of a warrior back on Marley.

He however doesn't have much waiting for him back at Marley. His father isn't present, potentially leaving him with his mom. He may have had friends in the other warriors, but they all had families to go back to. What did he have?

This is where the angst comes in.

I'm thinking that it was mostly him and Daiya growing up. Their father was never there and their mother was either dead/disappeared/or was working 24/7 and couldn't do much else but send them money so they had food on the table. So, the two brothers had to watch each other's back- they were all they had.

Then, Daiya considers the warrior program.

Maybe, if he became an honorary Marleyan, their father would come back. Maybe his mother wouldn't have to work so hard. Maybe he wouldn't be forced to break his back so he and Mondo can barely survive. Maybe, and just maybe, Marley would give them a break

And so, Daiya decided he would become a warrior candidate- and he aimed to inherit the armored titan. Mondo would've joined him, to try and inherit a titan of his own- but Daiya said no, as he was doing this for Mondos sake. He wanted Mondo to live a long, happy life, even if it was in the zone. He couldn't let him throw all of that potential away for a mere 13 years.

And so, Mondo could only watch as his brother trained alongside the other candidates- he was older than most of them, but he was determined, pushing himself to catch the attention of Marley- to show that he was capable of wielding the power of a titan.

And it would've worked, if he hadn't gotten caught up with the resistance. It only brought him the wrong kind of attention.

And so, Mondo was left alone. His mother was never there, his father was gone, and now Daiya was being sent to Paradis.

To say Mondo was devastated would be an understatement. He had no idea what to do anymore- he was only just hitting fifteen years old- what could he even do?

He thought about giving up, only to be stopped by another warrior candidate- specifically, Kiyotaka, who knew Daiya. Taka relates to him and pushes him to keep going- he can't give up now.

And so, encouraged by Taka, Mondo does the one thing he can do; join the warrior program and inherit the armored titan. He would finish what Daiya started once and for all.

And holy shit he's probably the perfect candidate to inherit the armored titan. He proves his loyalty to Marley through his dedication and hard work, quickly putting him up with the rest of the ones to inherit a titan.

He finally has something he can be proud of- something positive in this shitty world. And now, believing he's proven to Daiya that he's just as capable as he is, redeeming his name, he puts all his effort into being the best armor there ever was.

So imagine how torn he becomes when hes forced to head to Paradis and kill the devils- only to discover they're just like him and Daiya. He gets attached quickly, finding friends in the 104th and relating to a lot of them. This is probably the happiest he's ever been- and most importantly, he's free.

But then he would be presented with the hardest choice of his life; betray his fellow warriors and pursue a good life, like Daiya wanted, or betray the 104th and ensure his name and Daiyas legacy were redeemed.

My tumblr name is Pumpkin, it's what I've been going by on here ever since I started using tumblr like 6 years ago.

My favourite danganronpa characters are Mondo, Taka, Leon, Kazuichi, Ibuki and Gundham.

I am a rocker, so I sometimes quote rock songs in my character's dialogue.

I may also quote some movies in their dialogue, I just do this for fun and to see if anybody recognises them without me pointing them out.

I haven't finished a single danganronpa game myself but have watched gameplays of them. I only got the games myself just over a year ago on switch. I haven't finished a v3 gameplay or played it myself because I just can't get into it.

I love to know I've made people smile!

Not related to danganronpa bu tmy fave movies are The Crow (1994 version), Beetlejuice (and the new sequel!), Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas and Wonka so I may make references to those, or even use quotes from them as titles for my starters, be warned.

Please excuse me for one moment so I can bring him over." *taka smiles as he leaves, the sounds of footsteps soon returning before suddenly stopping just beyond P's sight. it's then that P will suddenly spot a familiar face peeking out at him before being gently nudged towards him! it's madara!! the little piglet is wearing a party hat along with a tiny shirt, the words 'if lost return to P' written across the back while taka walks in carrying a present!*

"I think Madara looks rather cute in his new outfit! Not only that, but I also have something for you as well, Uncle P! Please open it!" *and taka will happily hold out the gift, it being a matching tshirt that says 'I am P' on it~!!*

"Ahaha, ohhh don't worry about such things. No matter how "conventional" it is or not, I will love it all the same, Taka. But, oho? Inspiration by you and Chu's walk, you say? Now I'm very curious to see it. Yes, please go ahead." With a nod and a smile, P watches Kiyotaka head off. Seeing him return with a certain piggie son of his, his smile widens~ "Welcome back: hehe, and hello, Madara. Aww, did you want to say Happy Birthday to me, too?"

"Oink!! ♪" P gives a small poke to his snout, making him wiggle! Then seeing his little party hat and the adorable little shirt he's wearing...

"Oh my god..." His eyes are nearly shining, from how precious he looks~ "S.. So cute... if lost, return to me...and his little hat. I love it. Yes, he is! Super cute... And thank you, Taka: let's see what my wonderful nephew has gifted me." Smile brightening, he accepts the present before opening it, and gives the softest gasp when seeing it's a matching "I am P" shirt!!

"Ohh...!! This is...! T-Taka.... I love it. Thank you." While Madara runs excited circles around both their legs, P goes to give Kiyotaka a tight hug!! "I love you. And Madara loves you, too: thank you for such cute outfits! I must put it on right now." Giving him one last squeeze, P throws on the shirt. "Ahaha... an excellent fit. What do you think, Madara?"

"Oink oink oink!! ♡" Madara loves it!! Especially because he's matching with his papa~! P will lean down to pick Madara up and nestle him in his arms, in which he instantly nuzzles deeper into his chest!!

"Taka, may your uncle ask for one more thing? I would love a picture taken of us, in our matching shirts. And afterwards, a picture of us all together, of course; to commemorate a most wonderful birthday, thanks to you!"

Don't worry i like tsurugi x yuki too just I only see them in tsurugi shipping area and it bugs me because he have too much potential with literally everyone except Inori. Like he makes everyone pissed at him for just talking or talking nonsense /affectionate

Wait which ship he have is more one-sided coded you are the Tsurugi cult member, you probably have more inner analyse about him more than I have

Emma x Kokoro is my favourite sdra2 ship, and the chapter 2 is joyful to watch hah, I love Emma's execution so much! What do you think about Emma and her execution though?

Yeah, Satsuki and Haruhiko definitely can't be interpreted as platonic in any sense like ishimondo or in my opinion Tsurugi x Kinji like either they date or despise eachother there is no way in hell I can see them talking like normal human beings..

Ishimondo and Satsuhiko are both in canon and both in theme very interesting pairings too, Satsuhiko relationship analysis when?

When, probably when I play chapter 4!

One thing I did notice on my first ever rewatch, is that when Momokuma first appeared, Teruya called for police. Would Kinjo have attacked monokuma and try to protect the group out of guilt anyway, hell yeah, he's batshit. But it couldn't have helped.

Alternate Mastermind aus are fun, but I am so freaking tired of Mastermind Ishimaru. Its too overdone. Its so obvious. But traitor!Ishimaru has potential. >:)

(tangent I really wish Mukuro got to be the ai in the 2nd killing game instead of Junko. It'd tie it into Dr1 without being repetitive. I also don't think it'd be realistically feasible to capture Junko's pure chaotic energy into an ai, even an impossibly futuristic one.

Also, Ai!Mondo was completely OOC. He'd give Taka the same terrible advice he lived and died by, which may have actually save him from Celeste by having him look less like a target. This isn't a bad thing, I just wish future entries in the series exploited this.

IDK, maybe Junko'd be into being cursed to live as an inaccurate ai version of herself.

If I wanted to hear normal people talk, I'd stop being in fandom and go out in public. Ships communicating like normal people is a turn off.

I feel like Yuki and Yamato are the least likely to be one sided, simply because we get Yuki's POV and what little we hear about Yamato and Tsurugi is positive. I can feel any other Tsurugi ship being one sided on Tsurugi's end. That being said, Tsurugi and Akane got some fucked up shit going on and I live for it.

All great points! Honestly, I think this could easily be the first of my AU's to have Naeishi be a particularly prominent ship, because they will definitely be spending a lot of time together.

Absolutely! Not to mention, I think Taka would be another one who wants to know about his past self and would ask Makoto about him. He wants to be able to reflect on the real human the scientists murdered to create this abomination. And Makoto can tell him that he's not an abomination, that none of them are. If Taka manages to recover memories from being in school with Makoto and, more to the point, being a normal person, it would mean so much to him.

Yes!! Taka loves to see Makoto care and try so much; it's the exact thing the effortless, emotionless Kamukuras lack, which he hates about himself. When he watches Makoto try to imitate the accent "Celeste" used to put on, to answer the group's questions about what each of them were like, he's charmed by the attempt…but he's also very aware that the person "Celeste" was made into has no appreciation for the gift she's receiving. Taka's greatest fear is that one day, the scientists will take Makoto away and turn him into one of them. Early on, he hoped the scientists would take him away, for his own safety, so the other Kamukuras couldn't harm him, but now he worries that once the scientists have finished with this test, they'll drag Makoto off for the same procedure and he'll lose everything special and human about himself.

Lol, immediately this brought to mind a kind of inversion of the Undead AU, where the lucksters instead have to take care of super genius versions of their classmates.

But let's put that aside for now.

(I'm making this one a new AU, so the Kamukura 78th class get the same characterization as before, but the backstories from the Kamukuras AU are changed so that instead they were just all entered into the Kamukura Project at the same time. Presumably Izuru Kamukura still exists as the first success and they took that success as a green light to do the same thing with fifteen more kids. None of them have met Izuru, though; he's in the basement of Hope's Peak, and they're at some secondary location where the many people who would be looking for them can't find them.)

So, the scientists Kamukurify the whole 78th class, except Makoto. (Presumably they tricked them into signing off on it, but since some of them are definitely the type to thoroughly read a contract, I'm thinking it was just casually tossed in as a condition to attending.) This does raise the question of "When did they go through with the procedure, and where was Makoto while it was happening?" I'm going to say it happened over some kind of holiday or break, so when Makoto gets pulled in, he has no idea of how serious the danger is until after he's tossed into a room with all of them.

But yeah, the scientists just toss Makoto into a room with the Kamukuras and lock the door.

All of the Kamukuras would immediately reach the conclusion, "The scientists have given us a human plaything, and we're expected to share it, and I know someone is going to break it."

So everyone has one of four reactions:

Someone's going to break him, so it might as well be me.

Someone's going to break him unless I protect him, so I will.

Someone's going to break him, so no point taking an interest.

Someone's going to break him, so I'd better do something interesting with him before they do.

And because they're all Ultimate Analysts, they all know the exact mental journeys the others are on. The best of them are able to circumvent the worst possible outcome (which is, him dying immediately and no one gets to do anything with him and they don't get another one).

As soon as Makoto (again, super not knowing what he's in for) walks into the room, Sakura restrains Junko just to make sure she doesn't do anything to sabotage this chance at stimulation for the rest of them.

Hina runs up to Makoto like, "Interesting. They've never given us something like this before."

("The likeness is incredible," Chihiro's voice floats from somewhere near Hifumi, because Hifumi drew Makoto's face the previous day. "Your clairvoyance has improved, since you spoke with Hagakure." For his part, Hiro is just standing in the corner, looking like he's seen all of this before and doesn't mind an encore.)

"Hina?" Makoto looks around at all of them, confused. They all have shoulder-length hair, uncombed. It's a weird look, especially for those of them who used to have really long or really short hair. (Their hair hasn't grown Kamukura-length yet, since it was shaved for the procedure.) Their eyes are all bright red. "You look...different. Why are you talking like that?"

"He knows us," Celeste observes, having immediately decided to earn his loyalty on the assumption that he can be useful in getting her out. She keeps her hair tidier than any of the others, but Makoto is more focused on how even her eyes are different. They were already red, but before it was a simmering scarlet, like red wine, not a glaring crimson. "Poor thing; you must be so confused."

"Celeste?"

She's unfamiliar with that name, because it isn't the one on record for this body, but she takes it in stride because she doesn't care what he means by it. "Yes? How may I help you?"

"Why did you call her Celeste?" Hina asks.

"You guys- Whoa!" Makoto yelps in fright, as he is lifted off of his feet.

Mondo holds Makoto over his head, like keeping a toy out of reach of children. It's not beyond any of them, physically, to access Makoto anyway, but the idea is that getting to him now would require them to cross a line that would lead to a skirmish, so they won't.

"We should negotiate the use of this resource," Mukuro says.

"He is not a resource for our use," Taka says. "He is a human as humans were meant to be. He shouldn't be touched."

"Guys?!" Makoto calls from his weird position, being held in the air by his shirt and pant leg. "Is everyone okay? You're all being really weird."

"Slow on the uptake," Leon drones. "Might as well let Enoshima cut him open."

"You insult my imagination," Junko replies, casually, from her restrained position.

They're talking like they don't know me, Makoto thinks. And...a little like they don't know each other. At least, not the way they did before. "What happened to you? Did you guys get amnesia or something?"

"Owada, could you put him in the other room while we negotiate?" Sayaka suggests. She has already taken those few seconds to imagine a few outcomes in which everyone would be satisfied. It's the kind of thing she really enjoys doing.

They lock Makoto in an adjacent room and very clinically discuss the best ways to avoid killing him. Or at least to avoid killing him too quickly.

Meanwhile, Makoto is adjusting to all this information he just gathered from that short interaction and preparing for how he's going to interact with them, moving forward.

Have stopped my binge of The Walking Dead (during season 9 just like last time I dropped it 😭 I am trying but also...tired so breaktime from that) to actually go watch Fear (the walking dead also bc duh) because I started it when it began but then took a break when it was on break till the new season and just never came back to it Anyhow I do also quite enjoy it (altho rip to I think season 4 which made me irate for many reasons at the beginning but then calmed down some so I am back to enjoying things) and the characters etc but I also am definitely going in it looking for comedy Didn’t do that for the main show as much because that was a rewatch But by now any media I consume I WILL make fun of (lovingly) or try to imagine funny scenes because...duh

speaking of new character or oldes ones returning, Dwight! my boy! continuing being shot in various limbs to then stumble around (how is that a trend i notice) also rip his hairline because I am pretty sure between the main show and fear the makeup artists added more scarring to that scar-which i dont mind but is also kinda funny to imagine (like sir negan didnt burn you THAT much where did you find the rest or is it just the way you part your hair?) regarding hair post haircut&shave&further haircut later: who is this  man and what have you done with the  burned rat from before? anyhow i still like him and i kiiiiinda wish Morgan was a character who would have been more involved about the past simply because I’d have liked to see them chat about it-not even anything heavy but just about what happened, how everyone was doing after Dwight went away because Morgan was still there for a bit at least, or idk just a bit more remembrances of where they came from sprinkled in there

Okay so I adore Kazuichi Soda, but GOD do I feel like his character is wasted somewhat in game??? I really wish he had more of an ark

(Warning, I’m going to ramble like a himbo about my Sodapop son below. It’s...way to long and has spoilers)

So, Kaz’s whole character backstory is that he was a nerdy, shy kid who got pushed around by his ‘friends’. He got in trouble for helping a friend cheat on a test, but he wasn’t upset when said friend threw him under the bus. He only got upset when that friend stopped talking to him after, which in turn encouraged him to distrust others and change his behavior and appearance to appear tough.

What I get from this is that Kaz puts on a fragile act to look tough, has a hard time trusting others, and has rather low self esteem. He acts like a punk, but the second someone attacks him, verbally or otherwise, he crumbles and cowers. 

That all being said, I don’t feel that these traits are properly handled or addressed in the game

Firstly, the whole Sonia obsession. I think it makes sense from a few perspectives. In one option, Soda could see Sonia, being a princess, as above ‘normal’ people, thus making her an object of his affections. Option B is that he doesn’t REALLY obsess with Sonia that hard, but because he wants to look cool, he pretends to like her so he can fit in with what he thinks dudes are like. 

Whatever option we go with, it’s clear that Soda has a very shallow ‘love’ for Sonia, only really liking her for her title and appearance. Whenever she expresses the darker sides of her personality (love of the occult and serial killers), Kaz always tries to divert attention from or ignore it. He doesn’t love her as a person, but as a figure. 

The shallowness of his love is coupled with her total devotion to her. Kaz makes the exact same mistake he did with his friend: he trusts Sonia irrationally, incapable of seeing any fault in her whatsoever. So, whenever she’s put into question, he jumps at her aid, trusting her regardless of any evidence. 

This also means that he’s incapable of seeing how uninterested she is in him. She never bluntly says it, but it’s clear that Sonia, at the very least, vaguely dislikes Kaz. She straight up hopes that he’s the killer in chapter 4.

But again, just like with his friend, Kaz brushes it off as nothing. Sonia could do anything to him but, as long as he has her ‘companionship’ (or the illusion of it), he’s fine. This is clearly a terribly unhealthy mentality for a relationship, as Sonia gets idolized to an uncomfortable degree and Soda leaves himself open to any level of abuse as long as he thinks he’s accepted.

Kaz is repeating the same mistake from his backstory, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. The bad part is the fact that it’s never addressed.

Sonia never tells Soda to stop, nor does anyone ever highlight the fact that Soda doesn’t really love her. He is constantly following her, but probably couldn’t say 10 things about her personality. If that WAS addressed, it could be used to show Soda that he isn’t going to make connections to people by keeping up his “cool, thirsty bro” persona, but instead by being genuine and kind, which is more align with his true personality. Honestly, I was expecting this to happen after chapter 4 but nope.

Another option, darker this time, is that Soda could find himself betrayed again. It would makes sense thematically; Kaz repeats the same mistake of blind trust, and is thus betrayed again. Maybe Sonia tries to kill someone, betraying the ideal pedestal Kaz places her on. Maybe she frames HIM for murder in an attempt to save Gundham.

Slight tangent here, but I really like the idea of a worst case scenario where Soda’s failure to learn from the past gets him killed (TLDR for the tangent, as if this whole thing doesn’t need a TLDR: Sonia and Kaz pull a DR1 first murder, but Kaz legit acts in self defense).

 Let’s say that, instead of the funhouse, chapter 4 gives motivation videos regarding everyone’s home. Of course, Sonia’s is about how her kingdom is falling into shambles. Extremely stressed, she locks herself in her room for several days. She eventually decides that, to save her kingdom, she has to sacrifice everything, even her morality. She decides to kill.

So, Sonia goes after the easiest target: Soda. Because of his blind faith in her, Soda wouldn’t hesitate to do whatever she asked. So Sonia asks him to meet her in some secluded area, perhaps the abandoned warehouse from chapter 1, sometime late at night.

Soda agrees to this blindly because he can’t EVER believe that Miss Sonia would ever do wrong. However, when he arrives, she attacks him, perhaps stabbing him in the shoulder. I know this is probably slightly underestimating Sonia, as she is trained in weaponry and could probably kill Kaz in one blow, but let’s say she’s so distressed that she doesn’t fatally would him.

Of course, there’s a struggle because, as much as Kaz obsesses over her, he’s not going to let Sonia murder him. She eventually backs him into a corner but, before she can kill him, he knocks her out with a wrench or something (he’s already established to carry one around because it comforts him, so it makes sense that he’d have it)

So now Kaz is alone, bleeding in an abandoned building with an unconscious woman at his feet. That would be a good point to wake everyone up and say what happens, but here’s where Kaz’s personality comes to bite him again. He still has faith in Sonia despite everything, unable to see her faults despite her having literally tried to kill him

So, his first priority is covering up HER crime. He hides the evidence of the attack as best as he can (which probably isn’t well given his panic and his wound). Then, he takes Sonia and carries her back to her room. He probably ties her up so she doesn’t her anyone else or herself when she wakes up. 

The next morning, Sonia isn’t at breakfast. Given that she’d locked herself in her room for several days, it wouldn’t be suspicious. Not wanting her to stay tied up, Soda offers to take breakfast to her. Once there, he wants to talk to her and calm her down, before letting her go and never telling anyone what happened.

However, you can’t just knock someone over the head and think they’re fine. That kind of kills people, and Soda soon learns that. When he gets into Sonia’s room, he finds her still tied up, dead.

Kaz is a coward, but is shown to be kind at heard. So, while I don’t think he’d be brave enough to confess, I don’t think he’d be willing to kill everyone else. Perhaps he’d try to kill himself before the trial to spare himself from execution. However, Nagito stops him. Nagito convinces Soda to cling onto the hope that he ISN’T the killer, and instead someone came to Sonia afterwards and killed her. It’s farfetched, but given his mental state, Kaz would buy it.

This all creates something I’ve always wanted in DR: an innocent blackened. Soda acted in self defense and had no intention to kill. In the trial, he wouldn’t be hiding info in an attempt to trick everyone, but in misplaced hope that he ISN’T the killer. 

Not only that, but this outcome really highlights the error of Soda’s mentality. Because he so blindly trusted Sonia, he was easily tricked by her. Because his self esteem is so bad, he doesn’t even get mad when she tries to kill him, instead hiding HER crime. Perhaps, if he’d gotten upset and ratted her out, she could’ve gotten some kind of medical attention and been saved. Instead, Kaz bent over backwards for her, leading to their deaths.

That was a long tangent, but the point is, I want Kaz’s failure to learn from past mistakes to be addressed, either by him growing past it or being punished for it. Nether happens though. The Sonia obsession continues throughout the ENTIRE game, with it never being addressed as a problem. It’s really strange thematically and character wise, as addressing it could’ve given both characters good development.

Moving on from Sonia somewhat, I HATE Kaz’s character ark, as he doesn’t evolve, but devolves. The source of Kaz’s problems is lis low self esteem. If he cared about himself more, he wouldn’t have accepted poor treatment from his friends in exchange for their companionship. He wouldn’t have changed his appearance and personality because he thought he was unlikable and boring.

Despite that however, in the end, the lesson he learns is to trust people again. That’s not a BAD lesson, but it doesn’t solve the problem. His self esteem is still nearly nothing; by once again falling into the idea that he has to trust his friends nonmatter what, he’s setting himself up to be used again (I’m not saying anyone in the DR2 cast WOULD do that, but the possibility remains.)

By trusting again without gaining self esteem, Kaz somewhat goes pack to step one. His ark really shoud have been about trusting and loving HIMSELF before he trusts and loves others. Kaz needs to realize that he doesn’t need to put on a tough act to make friends, as anyone who requires a tough act to like him isn’t his friend at all. He needs to realize that he deserves good treatment, and someone being your friend doesn’t justify cruel behavior towards you. 

But! He never learns that!!! He just goes right back to trusting without considering his self worth. That...really isn’t healthy and I wish it was addressed in his ark.

Another thing: why doesn’t Kaz have any dead friends? The entire surviving DR2 cast has someone who they were close to that died, Akane and Nekomaru, Fuyu and Peko, Hajime and Chiaki, Sonia and Gundham. It’s strange that everyone BUT Kaz has a close relationship with someone who dies in game.

Why not make Kaz friends with Mikan? I feel like they have a bit in canon, with both being anxious and prone to being bullied. I feel like a friendship between those two could be used to show Kaz’s more genuine personality. It’d be a chance to show that he isn’t CONSTANTLY thirsty over girls, that he can talk to Mikan without a hint of lust. Instead, they could just be friends, finding comfort in the fact that there’s someone else who’s just as terrified as they are.

Also, this relationship could be used to both mess with Kaz AND make another parallel to DR1. Make Mikan frame Kaz for the killing, just like Celeste with Hiro. This would not only be super interesting, but also a MASSIVE blow to Kaz’s ability to trust, which is already terrible. Also again, I just feel like Kaz’s anxiety is used for comic relief too often. I want this boy to straight up have a panic attack in trial. Destroy him with fear. 

So uh, yeah. I feel like Kaz’s depth is sacrificed for the sake of comic relief. He could’ve been so much more, but he isn’t and it’s a shame. Also, if you read this whole thing, then you must be just as obsessed with Kaz as I am. So, send me some good Kaz fics! It is SO HARD to find a fic that focuses on Kaz instead of Nagito. Do it.

Not very hard to understand sns. At the base they are sakura haters, and want to be with sasuke. Sakura is obviously not an option because she is less powerful than sasuke, so they aren't equal or whatever, hence, she isn't the one they can use. That leaves Naruto since karin can be eliminated by the same logic. Naruto is very, very bad for sasuke. But according to sns, he stands up to him, fights him, and even turns out to be stronger. Hence, perfect for self-insert shipping since they're dynamic fits there easy. Easy to make tropes, situations, etc about sasuke and Naruto, but all these ppl don't understand sasuke one bit, but just like Naruto , they want to own him. I do ship ss, but I have read a lot of top sns during my early Naruto days and comparing it to sns fiction now, it hasn't changed one bit. Most of them are about how sasuke's redemption journey is not at all important, how sasuke's feelings aren't important, he's just a toy for Naruto to get in the end. No travelling for them obviously, since Naruto is a complete nationalist and no one even dares to try and make him hate konoha or realise sasuke's desire for revenge. Little to no hate for hinata, she's used to make sasuke jealous, sakura bashing almost always, sometimes even bashing Sai for no reason at all, hating on team taka/team 7 depending on their interpretation. I've also observed that the threat to their ship is mostly sakura, but never hinata. Hinata is never the problem because they are all self inserting as Naruto, he can have as many people in love with him as they want, but god forbid sasuke may have ambiguous feelings for sakura or they may even have dated in the past. Although hinata is also not treated very kindly as well, she is just used to make sasuke jealous, or for Naruto to reject, and then simply fade into the background. Sometimes she is also bashed, but it's mostly sakura in sns fics. It's funny and sad that no one really understands sasuke, majority of sns, ss , and God the sk and sasuhina shippers , who are the weirdest bunch of them all XD

All of them in general want sasuke to repent for his revenge , for leaving so and so behind, but it's never about them understanding why and how hard it was for him to do so. Sasuke has just become this object to achieve, as if his perspective isn't important at all. Kishimoto has done a lot of things wrong in Naruto , but making sasuke this complex and unreachable for 90% of the series has mostly started these fan wars. Sns love to call sakura obsessed with sasuke for no reason or shallow reasons , but they can't see that Naruto was just as obsessed, and if they can, they can't see just how obsessed they are with sasuke, for no good reason other than the fact that he would look good with their self insert.

This is the problem with maximum pro sasuke ppl on Tumblr as well as outside, they all turn out to be sns , which just makes their entire page a lie, if you are pro sasuke , hate konoha, but turn around and ship sasuke with the number 1 nationalist Naruto, you really do have some issues lol.

I've been in the fandom for a while now, and despite all the losses sns have had to face, they still are trying to find material in boruto to support their self insert ships, and go hysterical when they are beaten by canon ships, most ss because nh has been dry for content lately, it's very fun to watch them try to cancel entire companies like viz, whose translations they often use to discredit sakura at every turn. It's sakura they are the most scared of, both the people in their otp loved her in their lives, hence she must be eliminated at all times. People are this defensive only when they start thinking that they are one half of their otp.

They're so many examples of this on Tumblr where a pro sasuke who is anti ss turns out to be sns, when the sasuke they all adore, the one in shippuden, had no interest in anyone but his desire to avenge the uchiha.

Same problem with sakura x others, to try and diminish sasuke's value in her life is the dumbest shit I have ever seen and makes me instantly abandon a story. Even if she falls out of love, don't make it seem like it was just a crush or sasuke abhors her. There are stories in which sasuke is downright cruel to her even after his redemption, just to villainize him. It's awful to see how little people understand sasuke, and just use him however for the sake of their self insert. It's making me hate fanfiction again, I definitely agree with you, sasuke is mostly character assassinated in these stories, and it's hard to find stuff where his perspective is properly considered, especially in the sns side of the fandom.

I finally finished my Mondo jacket!! Ah, it only took me 7-ish months, and I abandoned my desire to add decorative gold buttons to the sleeves like in canon, but still! It's done!

I got my older brother to model the jacket for me, since he's much closer to Mondo's build than I would ever hope to be, ha. Luckily my brother is also a Danganronpa fan (and, in fact, is the one who got me into Danganronpa. I only watched the Game Grump's playthrough since my brother had played the game a month or so before and had been talking about it a lot. If not for him, I definitely would have given up on the game, ha) or else he'd never have agreed to do this for me. Honestly, I'm still surprised he agreed at all, so thanks brother!

Anyway, I'm super happy with how this project worked out! I've had the leather duster for years, since I was obsessed with Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer when I was younger and found this duster at my local Goodwill for a reasonable price. However, I never wore it and it was just gaining dust in my parent's closet. When I realized I could make Mondo's jacket with it, I was super excited! I love big craft projects, so this was right up my alley. I obviously did all the painting (which was SO MUCH FUN HAHAHAHA), but I also added some decorative gold buttons to the left side of the jacket (which you can't see here, unfortunately), as well as spray painted the inner lining with purple fabric spray paint. I also sewed the collar by hand, which was SO FUN TOO, WOW, I LOVE POKING MYSELF WITH SEWING NEEDLES BECAUSE FAUX LEATHER IS THE HARDEST THING TO SEW THROUGH BY HAND HAHAHA.

Aha.

Finally, I also made the belt face from air dry clay that I covered with silver leaf, and then put resin on top to keep it from breaking. I posted about it on my Tumblr back around January or December when I made it the first time, if anyone was curious about that.

All in all, this was a lot of fun! I wish I could make Taka's uniform, but I think that would require actual sewing, and I don't have a sewing machine or space for one, unfortunately. I also know very little about sewing clothes. I messed up the collar at least three times, oof. I may buy his uniform online, though, if I can find somewhere to wear it. Maybe a convention sometime. My brother could dress as Mondo and we'd have to portray a platonic Mondo & Taka siblingship. 😅😅 Also, it's too bad I didn't have this jacket back in November when I met Bryce Papenbrook, Makoto's voice actor. That would have made for a nice picture, ha.

(Also, just a note, the jacket itself is genuine leather, I just used faux leather for the collar since it was cheaper than buying real leather and it looked almost the same.)

Anyways, This Hebi/Taka thing happens in Season 6 which is the longest season with 40 CANON episodes with no dedicated filler episodes. I can tell you... Even Naruto has no relevance to this Season. This whole season was about Sasuke killing Oro, Forming Hebi, (Fake)Madara's revelation as the mastermind behind Akatsuki, Naruto & Team chasing Sasuke (again... This served no purpose), Jiraya Arc, Itachi vs Sasuke, Itachi's truth, Sasuke renames Team Hebi to Team Taka & hunts Killer B.

To be honest, this whole season has Sasuke as the major player... With Itachi & Jiraiya as the sub players... We would see a glimpse of how Itachi's death drives Sasuke in that same season. (Sorry Naruto!!! You are also majorly irrelevant... Other than getting info about Akatsuki, receiving Shisui's eyes from Itachi, a glimpse of the Masked man, you are not needed here.)

No matter what.... Sakura has zero relevance to this biggest and one of the most important foundational Season of this series. The only reason they did this was to instill her position and remind the readers that she is the HEROINE by giving her dedicated endings.

That crossing out Sasuke's name was done by the Ocean Waves, I guess. It was not her. Even if it was her, She has never shown any indication of moving on from him in the Manga. So, This Little ending scene would not make any difference whatsoever. Probably SP wanted N/aruS@ku, and hence they did this for their own self-satisfaction.

But SP hating SS is not entirely true. They love this couple in Boruto Anime atleast. Which is very evident from the way they change many scenes in Gaiden Arc which mitigate the worst content they got from Canon.

However, SS are proven time and time again that they are quite an ungrateful assholes. No matter how much good things you give them, they'll always send hurls of abuses in return and fight with their favourite NH sistahzzz for no reason. I am sure, they’ll pull this stunt again in the future as well.

the man is very tired. constantly working, having to go against multiple people that dislike him every day, and running his family's gigantic company wears him out eventually. so, he cuddles up to you to make himself feel better.

i feel like he's one of those people that doesn't cuddle up to you unless you ask when he's sleeping, but his body subconsciously cuddles up to you as the night goes on. expect to feel byakuya cuddling up behind you when you awaken.

he doesn't know how to efficiently do most of the common house hold chores. he knows the basics, but since he grew up with servants and butlers, he always had someone else to do it for him. so, when you do teach him how to wash dishes and clean the bathroom, its kind of funny, and sweet in a way to see him be so clueless and dependent on you.

reads out loud very complicated science or math books whenever nothing is going on. if you're confused, but want to know more about the topic, feel free to ask him anything about it. he's always willing to help, and while he does make some mean remarks, its obvious its not genuine and actually really likes to help you.

this man. cannot. bake. or cook. its the same case with chores, except he really cannot be helped. you're gonna have to make the meals if he stays over, unless you want your kitchen to be on fire. the sweet part about this is him trying to process how food chemistry works.

its sort of funny to see him question how a few little ingredients make a cookie, or how a single raw chicken leg has skin after cooking it. he understands the science and the technicality to it, but for some reason he's still extremely confused. his face while watching cooking/baking shows is the same as a clueless cat.

he prefers to show his love for you by buying you things, and doing things for you. he doesn't often show physical affection of words of affirmation, but he would definitely buy you something you mentioned 5 months ago, and do your science essay that you complained about last night.

is a cat person! there are times when you'll catch him watching kitty videos on his phone. he'll deny it if you tell any one else, but he secretly really wants to take care of a cat with you.

is just a very nice man to be your partner. i've already mentioned this before, but he would 100% treat you right. he's a little confused at times, but he's got the right spirit and good intentions.

He doesn't care that much as Makoto. But he sometimes tells you in a playful way that you should stop. Also, he may find it cute in a weird way. Over all, he hasn't got an opinion about it

Leon likes to braid your hair. He just takes the lock you were playing with and starts. If you ask him to give it back, he will. But, if you don't he would not stop for a looong time

Kuwata is the type of guy that loves any kind of afection. If you play with his hair, he would love it

His method for getting free massages would vary a lot. Anyways, if he gets one he would NEVER say anything bad about it.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru

He worries. A lot. He tries to be polite about it, and he actually is. But, if it is something like, really important (for example, a test), he will tell you in a more serious way that you shouldn't do it

Taka also says that instead of pmaying with your hair, you should try to use that energy in brushing it, or other options. However, if you ask him to do it, he would try his best

If you both are alone, Ishimaru wouldn't care if you play with his hair. But... Not in public

He wouldn't ask you very often, but he likes your scalp massages after a hard day. You both talk about your day, or random things

Byakuya Togami

His reaction is... Kind of weird in some way. He doesn't mind at all, and you can see it. But, if you both are in public, he would somehow take your hand out of yout hair.

Byakuya doesn't do anything with it. He just watches you play, not as often as Nagito, and if you say something about it he would deny it. Over all, he won't try anything

If you touch his hair, be sure to be at a good place, and that he is in a good mood (not very often)

He doesn't ask it, he demands it. If you both are near a bed, he would just lay down and wait. He actually likes it buuut won't say it.

Nagito Komaeda

He worries, but at the same times he doesn't. He enjoys watching you play with your hair while doing anything. He would look away if you found him, a little bit blushed.

At the start of the relationship, even if he wants to, he would not touch your hair. But, if you ask him to do it, he would plah with it. Anyways, before starting it he would say a few bad thins about himself.

Like Leon, he would be an HUGE fan of you playing with his hair. It actually make him feel loved.
