ippiki au: minor characters edition
first things first: here look at everyone. dont mind the inconsistency of style, i took a 4 month break in the middle of these okay
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and now! lore and stuff will be under the cut to not clog up everything
ill include everyones images a second time before their specific lore just to help keep track of things i hope you dont mind that. also implied vbs event spoilers (specifically for light up the fire) when you get to radder, if thats a concern at all
Tumblr media
mizuki- deer. a runaway from an arena with lower security, met ena early into their escaped days and theyve stuck together since. their antler broke while in the arena, and they havent shed yet to grow back evenly. whether the white spots are because of their deer species or the fact that theyre still a teenager or just because of weird hybrid things is up to viewer interpretation (aka i never really settled on a specific type of deer for them). unfortunately the antlers make them pretty visibly trans and they dont really like having them, but at least most other hybrids dont seem to care too much.
ena- mountain lion. grew up in the same lab as akito, and to neither of their knowledge, they are actually related (ena was still somewhat of an older sister figure to him, along with some of the others from his group. they havent seen each other in a few years since ena got taken to an arena. to each other they might as well be dead). not the biggest fan of their current situation, but shes trying to make the best of it.
they live together currently in the undercity, living somewhat steadily off of odd jobs. its not the greatest life, and maybe one day theyd like to leave, but for two teenage girls, its the best theyre managing for now, and it certainly could be a lot worse. they both couldve never escaped their arenas and died there.
Tumblr media
haruka- domestic shorthair cat (but often mistaken for being a russian blue... shes just a regular gray cat with blue eyes). an ex-feral (captured as a child) turned show pet with a reputation for her cool charm. while shes taken to this life with relative ease, she misses her home from far outside the city and her childhood best friend who got captured at the same time and separated from her (she cant help but fear that an is probably dead, sent to an arena for her rowdier personality. shed like to hope otherwise, but the odds are against her)... also yes, her outfit mainly looking like her asrun outfit is intentional.
minori- goat. i forgot her sideways pupils here but she has those, just like kohane and luka. a childhood friend of kohanes, raised in the same lab, but was bought as a show pet instead. no one really knows why, besides her enthusiastic personality having its strengths in the idol-like niche of show pets. admires haruka from a distance, but theyve never had a chance to properly meet. maybe one day...
Tumblr media
nene- longhaired fold cat x canary. part of a private project attempting to create non mammalian hybrids by balancing them out with known stable hybrids, and shes one of the first semi successful ones. she might have survived to a reasonable age so far, but not without complications. shes prone to occasionally unstable health and has some speech issues, mostly caused by the bird parts of her not mixing well with everything else. the feathers are cute, but at what cost? although being kept in a very restrictive environment isnt doing her any favors either...
technically shes not even a main part of the au! shes got her own side storyline with wxs lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
kotaro- racoon. literally just some guy. from the same town as haruan, but hes just been there the whole time. probably the only character here who hasnt experienced the horrors to some extent. not actually relevant to the au besides like oh he exists he might briefly show up, but i wanted to draw him because i had design ideas
souma- domestic dog, some kind of mutt. suffered a combination of severe injuries throughout his time in an arena and during their escape, leaving him with a nasty mess of scars across his body as well as a mostly paralyzed arm and a noticeable limp. hes trying to stay positive despite that, after all theyre free! but its tough sometimes, he cant help but feel bad that hes slowing down their pace in traveling.
arata- caracal. from the same arena as souma, but escaped much more unscathed, his past injuries are nowhere near as severe. heard stories about the outside world somewhere and is now determined to find somewhere worth living out in the wasteland with souma. hes not exactly friendly to people they cross paths with, but its mostly out of caution to protect both of them.
fun fact i had to redesign soumarata partially because i just wasnt satisfied with their designs (i had made some very early on into the au) and partially because me and my friends realized souma is the taller one (hes like. slightly taller than touya? while arata is only taller than akito) and i had it the other way around before.
Tumblr media
nagi- maned wolf. a popular face around town, and one of their most successful participants in various resource gathering missions (it isnt uncommon for hybrid towns to have members who will steal things for their towns from supply trains that go out to human towns in the wasteland and nagi was often a fan of going on those). she liked to get out and explore the wasteland! sometimes shed let an (and less often, haruka as well) tag along with her so they could see more of the world while still supervised, but that led to her own downfall. a mission went wrong, the kids got caught, and she got killed trying to save them.
taiga- tiger (how could i not go for the pun, and also canon did it first anyway). while once a common sight around town, after nagis death hes become a rare visitor, traveling more often than not, only stopping home once in a while. maybe he doesnt want to linger around the feelings left behind now that shes gone. scary and serious, but not out of bad intentions.
ken- fox (just like an). runs a somewhat popular cafe in town, comfortably settled down. he regrets not being there to protect his daughter, but theres nothing to do about it anymore. maybe one day shell come back, but for now, hes got a job to do and thats the most important thing for him to focus on.
nagi and taiga are fully aware that theyre siblings, unlike akito and ena. it was more common for their generation to be aware of this, rather than having knowledge about their origins withheld. they both were in an arena that focused on team fights, and when taigas original teammate was killed, nagi ended up with him, prompting him to help them both escape because he didnt want to let his sister get hurt more than necessary (even though shes capable of taking care of herself in a fight). they met ken (another arena escapee) during their way out of the city, and began traveling as a group of three until they found the town they all called home. their presence was an important part of making that town thrive into the place it is now, even if things for the trio have since fallen apart quite a bit. nagi is gone, taiga rarely sticks around, ken is the only one who stayed now.
Tumblr media
meiko- bear. runs a convenience store at night in the undercity near one of the arenas (the one akikoha are in), well known around the area and uses her advantageous shop location to help new escapees get a little more set into their newly freed lives. a kind if intimidating woman, and very reliable at her jobs.
miku- striped hyena. just an average young escapee living in the undercity, although she doesnt try to blend in very well. ever since she got her hands on some hair dye shes been stubbornly sticking to the faded and grown out color, she thinks shes cool with it. friends with a couple humans who seem completely unbothered by her animal traits
luka- ibex. an escapee from the outer city workshops who decided to move to the undercity... and never really settles down anywhere. she likes to wander from place to place, experiencing the great expanse of the city from its depths. shes got her favorite places to come back to, but more than anything, shes always on the move to see something new.
kaito and the kagamines are humans (the kagamines are mikus human friends!) which is why theyre not here 👍
and thats everyone! apologies this is a monster of a post, but i hope youve enjoyed reading. and hopefully its semi coherent lol

Thinking about how what the implications are if "(Not) A Devil" is Mikoto's third trial song.
Specifically, about these two lines and how they contextualized the song as a whole.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's preceded by these lines
My radiant halo is closing in around my neck It loosens when I lie, the “Mayday” I can’t call out Let’s cover-up in white paint, get lost in the part and play It gets easier when you lie go on, try it
And as we can see here, their lines are dyed in the others' colours, while brown/gold is them in unison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Incidentally, I decided to look up what patrician means, and uh.
Tumblr media
That is certainly A Definition, when tied to Mikoto)
This implies that the angel's claim that they're dead and gone is part of the lies interwoven in the song. Isn't this a claim that sounds familiar~?
Mikoto: Please, forgive Boku. If you don’t… I’m sure he won’t be able to deal with this any longer. Es: “A sin committed by another personality isn’t a sin”... you’re telling me that’s how I should judge? Mikoto: Yeah. If you forgive Boku… I’ll disappear. Es: … Mikoto: That’s right. I’ll have to disappear eventually, anyway… Disappear, and take all of it with me. I… was born to protect Boku, after all. Es: You were… born for it… Mikoto: Yeah. If it’s for Boku, I’ll… do anything.
You see, I don't think that he will disappear?? We know that there's still a third trial. I doubt that Mikoto wouldn't be stressed by the prospect of being voted guilty for a second/third time. It would be one thing if it was a longer period of voting, or one vote equating to instant freedom. But the prisoners are fully aware of the fact that it's not one and done (and if they didn't before, I'm sure that Haruka's interrogation would give them that insight). As it stands, there's a very real possibility that the more guilty you get, the less likely you'll be allowed freedom. Furthermore, it's also a possibility that it's a two out of three system. Or, to draw on his relation to baseball, three strikes and you're out.
Mikoto would probably be able to piece that together, and even if he isn't outwardly stressed next trial, I'm sure the idea of that would linger subconsciously. You know, the thing that brought out "John" to begin with. This is regardless of the outcome of this trial.
A tangent, but the lines
this is just a silly joke song
(just kidding~)
(who cares~)
would also feed into the continued insistence that this is all just a dream/bad joke that needs to end. That, and this aspect of Mikoto's character that has been showcased repeatedly
Mikoto: It’s pretty tough, isn’t it? (laughs) Ever since I came here, so much has been happening that I don’t understand… Es: … You really… do laugh when you’re suffering, huh? Mikoto: Huh? Es: You don’t get angry. You don’t scream. You laugh, like it’s a minor inconvenience. Mikoto: Ah… I guess so. I might have that kind of trait. Es: … Mikoto: Usually, if you just laugh and pretend, things work out in the end, right? I’m pretty good at that. Making things work out to the best of my abilities. Es: Is that so… Mikoto: (laughs) …But… it’s not coming to an end. All of this. With things I’ve never even heard before, the whole ti—
His reaction to stress is to diminish it, or treat it as something ephemeral. Something that doesn't truly exist, just ignore it and keep going. Except as we've seen, it's not working in Milgram, and I'm pretty sure it didn't work in the circumstances before his murder too. And I don't think it will work as he wants, even if he's voted innocent this round.
I need to specify that this isn't a thing to sway the vote in any direction, just something I thought was interesting. And honestly, I may be interpreting it all wrong too! I'm not always great at looking at the evidence and drawing the right conclusions- sometimes I can convolute something that's really simple. Or to put it another way, miss the forest for the trees.

You know what? I'm not hiding this please have all of my crane wives music assignments for the prisoners plus Es(Note: I am not confident on all of these):
Haruka: Empty Page
Cut me a path, and I will follow it, Draw me a line, and I'll avoid it- I'm nothing if not obedient. You have my word.
You'll do it better, show me how. You'll do it better, show me how. Tie me up by my callow belief, Someday I'll make something out of me, Years of imitating mastery, Only made me a better thief.
Yuno: Pretty Little Things
I cut straight to the heart. I don't believe the pretty little things that you say, I've heard a lot of little pretty things. Don't buy me flowers, It pains me to watch pretty little things wilt away.
Maybe you're right, and maybe I have been used up, By another man's hungry hands. And maybe you're right, and maybe I have been ruined, By another man after him- But maybe I'm the one who's right.
Fuuta: High Horse
We get what we deserve, We never really learn.
I keep tallies, I keep score. I'm a petty thing on a high, high horse. You've got your mouth open, I hold my tongue, There's so many things that we can't ignore.
You are never gonna change her mind, so don't try.
Muu: Icarus
They're burning down the orchard to the soil, To the soil, to the grave. Spreading out the ashes of a love, That only gave and gave.
Our hands are pulling everything apart, Fall apart, falling back- Tell yourself there's no more need to lie, We don't have time for that.
Leave our footprints to be lost along the ground, Oh my brother, my brother, my brother, There is nothing left to bring me back down.
Shidou: Metaphor
I cut my teeth on secondhand sentiments, You can't trust a single thing I say. I keep my closet free of skeletons, 'Cause I'm much better at digging graves.
I've gotten good at stretching the truth out of shape, And all these words are sweet and meaningless!
Mahiru: Strangler Fig
Now I'm trapped within your walls and all I want is to be free, For as Winsome as you may be- All you're doing now is losing me
From your pulpit what will you preach? How to live a good long life that's full of suffering.
Oh, I Gave you everything I had, Now I, now I want it back!
Kazui: The Well
All the words I couldn't say to you, Fill up the spaces in my chest, Like spare coins poised on the tip of my tongue, I make a wish and hold my breath.
Oh, the damage I'd have wrought- That old house, those rotting memories, Burned easier than I'd have thought
Amane: Scars(from what I know, this one has only ever been played live! So no studio recording if you look for it)
I’m not the person that I thought I was- I couldn't tell you where the ache came from. Maybe born in a storm beneath an angry sky- Now it’s raining in my head nearly all the time
All the love, all the kindness, all your best laid plans, Couldn't stop me from becoming the way that I am.
Was I born with a hole in my heart? A fatal fault at the start, Tell me it’s inevitable that I’d end up with scars.
Nothing could’ve been done, Is that right?
Mikoto: Queen of Nothing
Stop the car, I wanna get out. I'm craving open air and solid ground. 'Cause I've been watching from the backseat, Watching the world slipping past me.
Isn't this what you wanted? Time sure feels like it's running out- Just finish what you started.
On and on to the next town- Can we slow down?
Kotoko: The Wolf
I am not a builder, I'm much better at blowing things down
I light torches in my sleep, I have gasoline in my veins- I am always burning, burning, burning
Can it be easy for once? Cause I'm no good at being kind to myself, Or anyone. I am a falling axe, I am a sharpened knife, I am a poison asp, I am a risk to your life, My love.
I am a beast at your back, You better run for your life. Your life.
Es: The Crooked, The Cradle
There's blood in the water. The quiet are restless, the silent are still. I'm nobody's daughter.
I won't pretend, My season won't end. But I pray When it's done, when it's through, I'll have something left for you.
Can anyone hear me? Can anyone hear me? The crooked are smiling, they know me the best.

Had this card finished for a while before posting, but I was kinda insecure about it lol. I talk a little more in depth on this card's Patreon post (you can view and download it for free btw), but long story short, I got stuck in my head about whether I was embodying the symbolism of The Star and then I realized I didn't have to have a one-to-one counterpart to every Rider-Waite-Smith card lol.
Once I wasn't so stuck in my head, I realized I really like the way this card came out! I usually struggle to draw fire, but I found this quick tutorial and it actually gave me a process to try! Would recommend!
But let's go ahead and talk interpretations. They'll be below the cut as always:
After The Tower's destruction, The Star rises from the wreckage-- a shining beacon of hope.
While you likely experienced a period of pain and upheaval in the past, the presence of The Star suggests that good things are coming your way.
The Star is a card of hope and renewal. It reminds us that even though we went through trauma or generally crappy situations, we can emerge from them confident that things will get better. There are good things coming and we're urged to focus on those.
A lot of the symbolism within this card is somewhat religious in nature. The original woman is kneeling down with one of her feet seemingly walking on water, an homage to the Christian understanding of Jesus. The Star appears to be very in touch with the higher power within her whether her understanding of it stems from religion or her own spiritual beliefs.
In this way, we're urged to have faith in the forces we might not be able to comprehend. Sometimes singular or series of events can happen without us putting much effort into their creation. Sometimes, something we wanted or needed comes to us even when it didn't seem at all possible. The Star urges us to have faith in ourselves and trust that what we want will come to us.
Be confident in yourself, have hope that things will change, and begin to free yourself from the fear that keeps you from living authentically.
Reversed, the once hopeful figure of The Star has lost their glow. They've become lost in their pain and struggle to find any reason to stay positive. There's only so much a person can take before they feel beaten down and hopeless.
An important distinction, however, if that a reversed Star does not mean you have no hope. There are still plenty of chances for our situations to improve and for us to heal, this reversed card simply indicates our own feelings and thoughts.
While it can be frustrating to hear that something's 'all in our head', a reversed Star can be looked at as a sign that we have the power to make things better. Whatever higher power put us on Earth also gave us the ability to alter our reality and create a better life for ourselves.
Of course we may need help along the way whether that be a therapist, doctor, support group, or our loved ones, but that help is out there.
Even a reversed Star is a message that the worst of our pain and suffering is over. The pain we suffered is real and valid, it always will be. But The Star reminds us that we have the power to heal from it and come back stronger than when we started.
When designing this card, I wanted Haruka to represent the Star in question.
After Kiryu's entire family died, he felt like he had no reason to stay alive. The whole reason he went on his journey in the first game was to be reunited with the people he loved. He was willing to forgive those that had hurt him and move on, but in a very short period of time, everything was taken from him.
Everything except Haruka.
Haruka isn't free from suffering, either; her mother was taken from her and her father tried to kill her, but she serves as an anchor for Kiryu to hold onto his desire to live (even if he continues to struggle in the future).
She's an opportunity for Kiryu to get away from the Tojo Clan-- the organization that gave him everything he loved, but also took it away so many times. A beacon of hope leading Kiryu towards the life he actually wants.
Things aren't easy. Healing from such intense trauma rarely is, but there's hope for this little girl who never had a proper family and this man who just lost his.
Fate seemingly destroyed both their lives, but it seems like it also gave them everything they needed to find new meaning in the mess left over.

Matchups!
I am thinking of opening up Matchups for the holidays! - please indicate your interest below- and if I get enough likes I will be opening them maybe on the 23-25th of December
Here are the rules I had last time with some changes of course!
(They are not open just yet so please don’t send anything in yet- just respond to this post to show interest!)
----
Matchups!
What that is, is you send me a description of yourself, personality, likes, dislikes, hobbies, dreams for the future, etc. I will then match you up with one of the IDOLiSH7 characters based on who I personally think you would be suited for.
I don’t need you to give me a description of what you look like, gender, or whatever. You will only be matched with males. Here are the list of the boys I will do matches with.
IDOLiSH7
Iori, Yamato, Mitsuki, Tamaki, Sogo, Nagi, Riku
TRIGGER
Gaku, Tenn, Ryuunosuke
Re:vale
Momo, Yuki
ZOOL
Haruka, Toma, Minami, Torao
Managers
Banri, Rinto Okazaki, Shiro
(I was going to add Anesagi, but since she is only attracted to men, it would just be easier without her) (I’m also not including Ryo because I do not wish that bastard on any of you sweet lovely people ^^)
When submitting, it is likely you will go over the word limit, in that case please do a 1/3 2/3 3/3 at the top so if you are anon I will know it’s the same person. If you don't and are on anon then I won't be able to do your matchup~
Here I will give you an example of what to write and say about yourself- Note- you don’t have to be as personal as me, I’m just rather open ^^
I am a passionate person who is a huge animal lover. I was born a vegetarian, although I have a big sweet tooth. I love nature, be it the ocean, forests, parks, etc. I’m not the biggest outdoors person, but I do need to get out every now and then. I’m the kind of person who takes scenery photography vs selfies. I have had many health issues through my life, especially the last 10 years of my life. However, I became quite fascinated with Psychology due to my time suffering from multiple chronic diseases. I am very close to my father, however I no longer have contact with my mother. She was abusive and eventually it came to a point I had to end things with her so I could someday be happy and healthy. I love singing, hitting high and long notes feels really good. I enjoy drawing, reading and writing and am a huge otaku. I have a giant collection of goods which I treasure. I’ve always been a little odd, never really fitting in with my own age group. I never lie, I see no point to it. Due to this I can be rather blunt, but I don’t do it to be mean. I am a very kind person who is always thinking of others. I may seem gentle but I have a slight extreme streak. I have trouble dealing with people who aren’t very intelligent. I don’t cry easy anymore, if I do it’s for someone else. Animals really do mean everything to me, my biggest wish for this world is that people learn to treat them with respect, that they are living creatures like us who have emotions and feel love too. I believe nothing in life should be free, people need to work for things. If you want to succeed in life then you need to put in the effort. I believe everyone has struggles of their own, if people could just see that then I think this world would be a better place. I love IDOLiSH7 because watching and listening to them all makes me so happy. I love them all with all of my heart.
A post that explains things like that about yourself is good! Of course you don’t need to get into personal details! I’m just personally rather open- but again the more info I have the more accurate your results will be!
Here is an example of what NOT to write!
I’m 5′3″ with long brown hair and green/blue eyes. I’m a Sagittarius and I love any shades of blue, purple, pink. I love anime and music! I have a cat and he is really adorable <3 I love to sleep and snuggle with him! I love IDOLiSH7 and think Sogo is just the cutest thing ever <3333
See? From posts like that I really don’t learn anything about you... I will NOT respond to posts like this!
Rules
1. Do NOT state which character you like/want to be paired with! I want to match you with someone based on who you are and who I think would be a good partner for you.
2. Ages don’t matter! (DON’T POST YOUR AGE!) If you are 27 and I pair you with Tamaki who in the series is 17/18, just imagine your in a time when your ages are closer. It’s all for fun anyway.
3. Please please include page numbers like I stated above 1/2 2/2 on your requests.
4. Be as descriptive as you can, state your strong points and your weak points! Everyone has them so don’t feel ashamed at all.
5. You will only get ONE matchup! If you don’t like who I paired you with, I’m sorry but I will choose who I think will be a good life partner for you.
6. Note, I don’t believe you have to have everything in common with someone or like the same things to be with someone. For example, if you like sweets and dislike spicy food, that doesn't mean I won't pair you with Sogo, same if you love anime! That doesn't mean you will get Nagi. I will pair you based on what each other lack and what each other needs in their life.
7. This is all in good fun so please don’t be upset if I don’t match you with who you want. And please don’t purposely try to get a certain character, you already know you like them, so why not find out who I think is suited for you?
8. Please don’t include your gender label- it doesn’t make a difference in the results!!
I will write a small entry on what they love about you and why you two work as a couple. (Ignoring all the idol stuff and dating restrictions etc)

some rambles about my project sekai swap unit, moonbeam arcadia!
crossposted from my twitter ... but i also wanted to post something here!!
moonbeam arcadia consists of mafuyu, ichika, toya, and haruka. in this universe, ichika never got the chance to reconnect with honami and shiho despite her and saki's best efforts (this is also mainly why saki decided to team up with emu in momoiro parfaits (another swap unit) og duo.) she becomes more and more disconnected from her peers, only focusing on her schoolwork and saki (occasionally). she still makes music and listens to miku in her free time, though. mafuyu stays the same. haruka after suffering from severe stage fright decides to quit being an idol and her fear starts developing even further, slowly but surely becoming agoraphobia. even when she met minori, haruka felt like she could never be seen as a proper idol in the eyes of her fans and her friends again. haruka turned to making music and uploading it to a nightcord music server anonymously to help her speak the things she's too scared to say. toya has the same story, but he never got the support and validation that vbs and akito gave him. coincidentally, ichika (1) owned the nightcord music server that all of the other members were in. ichika really liked haruka's (penguin) usage of vocaloids in her songs, so she invited haruka to make songs with her and teach her how to tune miku. touya (bluewillow) also enjoyed haruka and ichikas music and started making piano covers of the songs, drawing the others' attention. at the same time, mafuyu (yuki) was also making songs of her own and uploading them, and ichika (1) also invited her to the music circle (in a separate server. ichikas server name was also something miku related because i have to keep the girlflop in there. they make electropop music and the starter vocaloids are kaito and miku. their sekai is an underground metro station. there are shops littered around it, and you can get on the train to travel to another station. if you take the second train and drop by the 3rd station, the 4th shop to your right is a shop that sells your memories. a bottle of moonlight from that night, all the pens you've lent someone but never got back. and the cashier is no other than yourself, or rather, another version of yourself. ichika sees herself in the main storyline where they formed leo/need, toya sees himself in the main storyline where they formed VBS and haruka sees herself in the main storyline where they formed MMJ. mafuyu sees her past self. there's also a ramen shop and ice cream shop as well as vending machines. and a 7/11. and everything and anything you need. miku is laid-back and doesn't talk much, but she cares a lot for moonbeam arcadia's members and tries her best to help them. her hair is its original color but fades to dark blue at the ends. she has headphones that light up whenever she uses them (gamer headphones) and a tetris t-piece hairclip (don't ask). she wears an oversized jacket over a black crop top and loose high-waisted jeans. she also wears black converses with a white heartbeat pattern embroidered on top. she can often be found at the station arcade playing tetris 99 or beating the shit out of the maimai machine. she chews gum and has a seemingly endless supply of blueberry gum always on her. kaito wears a sleeveless hoodie and black arm coverings (think: mafuyu zozotown gloves). his hoodie has a little screen on it that changes based on what he's currently feeling (it changes to an angry face when he's pissed, sad face when he's sad, etc.) so even if he tries to lie about his emotions, he can't. his pants have a shit ton of pockets on them and has chains attached (think techwear). he also wears ankle high sneakers. kaito is less expressive than miku but is quick to anger, and any emotion, really. he tries his best to help moonbeam arcadia...but these don't end well sometimes. SOMETIMES. he's trying his best, okay.
miku got headphones for her and kaito but accidentally ordered kaito cat ear headphones and hes too embarrassed to wear them, but he still wears them in secret because as embarrassing as light-up cat ear gamer headphones are, theyre really high quality with good noise canceling. miku has a picture she snapped of him in secret wearing the headphones. he would EXPLODE if the others saw (they have, they're just sworn to secrecy). miku uses the picture as blackmail sometimes to get kaito to buy her free stuff sometimes.
kaito tried to beat miku in tetris 99 once and failed miserably. the only person that has been able to beat miku in tetris is toya and she has sworn herself to beating him someday. mafuyu also plays and is nearly as good as miku, but nowhere as good as toya.
miku tried the "dipping ice cream in ramen" trend once and kaito is trying his best to not get violent. he's shaking and so fucking close to combusting while miku is enjoying the ramen and trying to get ichika to try it. he tries to stop ichika from trying it but doesn't get there quick enough. and to his surprise and devastation, ichika enjoys the ice cream ramen.
once luka arrives at the sekai, she immediately catches air about kaito's cat headphones (somehow.) she proceeds to get him a whole cat set with ears and a tail and everything. like the cyber cat kaito module. kaito is FUMING. face is RED and theres SMOKE coming out of his ears. hes so mad the emotion screen is going to catch on fire with how much it's overheating. kailuka chase ensues through the station.
kaito has started to hide but luka keeps finding him and dragging him back to the main station. every time. he has started to check his clothes for hidden trackers because how the heck can she find him Every Single Time like that.
even more chaos will ensue once meiko appears, or at least that's what kaito thinks. meiko actually manages to calm down luka's shenanigans by occupying her time (thank god.) but kaito has to admit, he misses luka's constant pranking.

Yes I'm late again, sorry, but Taro Tuesday is just as worthy of celebration as Momo Monday! Rest assured, if I'm late again, the Juto will come for me.
Spoilers, I guess...
-OOOOOOOOOH JIN
-So, I guess Sonoi's ancestors put Jin in Dad Jail?
-They didn't even give him socks, smh
-So, if Jin's supposed to keep them out, how exactly does he do that? Is he a living barrier, or is he like actively banhammering them?
-Yep, visiting hours are over. Get outta here.
-Origami = Evil, gotcha. I'm pretty sure that was a running theme among the Deadmans over in Revice Land.
-Hail to the Origami King.
-Looks like Sayama's still got his job despite how much of an obvious liability he's being.
-OH NO THEY FOUND DOG MAN
-"Hey! I'm buying my girlfriend EVERY dress, get on it!"
-Oof. Fired just like that.
-Wow, no respect for restaurant owners, smh
-OH HE RUNNIN'
-Jumpin' too!
-Yeah, cut your losses Tsubasa
-OH HE TELEPORTS TOO
-Yep, Sayama's fucked.
-Ninja master.
-Oh epic, Taro's a qualified ninja now!
-Oh, yep. This old dude's our Hitotsu-Ki! ...is he Ninja-Ki, Ninpuu-Ki, or Shuriken-Ki?
-Oh, Tsuyoshi too!
-Did eating that piece of newspaper fuck up his insides?
-Yep, called it!
-What a kind man, nursing a stray dog back to health :)
-"You were that crazy yellow girl who this guy held me hostage with! ...I'm Tsuyoshi, I'm a happily married man of 33 and my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world :D"
-OHHHHH HE OUT
-OOOOOOOW THAT HURTS
-I see Haruka went to the Hana Natsuki School of Drawing Blood with Palm Technique.
-HE FUCKING KICKED HER
-"PLEASE STOP KILLING EACH OTHER I'M JUST ONE MAN!"
-Ohhhhh, the Professor has come~!
-Lotta Shuriken emphasis... yep, Shuriken-Ki!
-This guy's definitely as extra as Takaharu, at least.
-Wow, Don Momotaro has nothing but disrespect for this man lmao
-"Hey, how about you go commit medical fraud?"
-"Ooooooooh, if only we knew who that pheasant guy was!"
-Sooooo, if Tsuyoshi was barefoot when he transformed, does that mean his feet weren't protected in battle? Seems like a bit of a design oversight, if you ask me.
-Wow, that was a quick hospital visit. In and out, just like that. Every country's healthcare is better than American healthcare, smh
-My man has constipation
-Oh, now Tsubasa's suffering has increased tenfold.
-Rice porridge, lovely. I sure hope he gets more than that, at least. Maybe some chicken soup.
-The suffering these two men go through on a daily basis, I swear.
-Time for Professor Saruhara's ultimate forbidden healing technique.
-...salt. Head.
-Prayer.
-Don't you dare spill a grain of that!
-Oh my god, they're making him do busy work to avoid fucking up anything else.
-"OH MY GOD THE PHEASANT'S THE WIFE GUY"
-OH SHE'S BACK
-...Miho, I promise, Tsuyoshi's not been having an affair.
-OH FUCK MIHO
-N-Natsumi? Natsumiho?
-Tsubasa-kun! It's time for walkies!
-"Whoa, nice salt strat!"
-...Ohhhhh, because salt is used for warding off evil! Pretty slick double meaning you've got there, Inoue!
-Don Robotaro~! Yo, sekai ichi~!
-Oh yay, Don't Boo~!
-We did it, fam~!
-Guess ninja dude calmed down and picked up a thing or two. That's nice~!
-OH NO
-Miho-chan's a Juto! D:
-That's one hell of a crane though, goddamn.
-What, we're combining next episode!? You don't just show that after that! ...then again, I really want that Don Onitaijin on screen as soon as possible... well, they got me good! I'm hooked!

What I think of the Magia Record outfits part 3
Part 1 is here, and Part 2 is here. This will feature only the spinoffs, by the way.
Mikuni Oriko
Tumblr media
The design immediately draws the attention to the eyes...I guess. I'm assuming that the aesthetic is bride combined with Mad Hatter. Here, it looks fine because it isn't suffering from Mura Kuroe's harsh shading.
Kure Kirika
Tumblr media
Now, Kirika on the other hand, is eh...? I see that it's supposed to be the groom to Oriko's bride, but if she though that huge-ass claws coming out of puffy sleeves was edgy then that was wrong.
Chitose Yuma
Tumblr media
First off. This girl is too young to wear anything that exposes the shoulders, but for the rest it is fairly standard. The Soul Gem is too large for my tastes (almost as large as one of her eyes), and hmm, I'm kinda iffy about the large bow on the back.
Amano Suzune
Tumblr media
...how is this supposed to mirror Tsubaki, again? I'm starting to suspect that GAN was too deep into Black Rock Shooter when he designed her. The jacket is what I like, but not most of what's under it.
Hinata Matsuri
Tumblr media
Steady design, phone motif is a bit silly but it unites the outfit. The hairclip could easily be confused for being the Soul Gem though. It's a good futuristic motif she's got going on.
Narumi Arisa
Tumblr media
Hey, even if you'd take away the targets, there's not a lot going for her either way. The belt isn't attached to anything, and the witch stockings...sure are a thing. But yeah, the targets still really bother me. Oh, and if you look at the shading, the pink part is supposed to be skin-tight (again...), but then it suddenly flares out into the skirt? That's just got me like :?
Shion Chisato
Tumblr media
...GAN, look, you can say that you had 'swimmer' and 'discliplinary' themes in mind as much as you want, but it won't pass me by that you just put a kinky cop outfit on a 14-year old character. Especially that band looks soo flimsy and I understand why she died so soon in the manga. The absolute cherry on top is that she seems to be embarrassed by her outfit, which is wrong if you consider that, in this universe, magical girl outfits are a portrayal of what the wearer perceives as cool.
Kanade Haruka
Tumblr media
Quoting myself from earlier: when designing a character, it's a good point not to get too distracted by the pretty shapes of your character. This outfit is almost there, but not quite, and that's mainly due to another boob window.
Mikoto Tsubaki
Tumblr media
That's not how kimono fabric works, and you know that. It's primary colors, and I'm not quite sure of it. Why are the sleeves so long anyway? I can't really see the pattern on the sleeves well, I wonder if it's put there for a reason.
Hinata Kagari
Tumblr media
It's kinda a mirror of her sister's outfit, but I wonder if the midriff is bared to show that she's an antagonist. Come on, guys, I think we were past the 'skimpy villain' thing by now. The bow being yellow is...interesting, because it doesn't quite mesh with the purple. I think that if you'd make it blue/violet, that it'd work better.

Fantober 2020, Day 17: Haunted
Tumblr media
Author: DatHeetJoella Fandom: Free! Pairing: MakoHaru Rating: T Part: 17/31 (read the full collection here) Word count: 1,761 Tags: Canonverse, Established Relationship, Fluff, Hurt/Comfort, School Festival, Haunted House, Mentions of Fake Blood Read at: AO3, FFn, or right here!
                                         ---------------------------------------
Ever since elementary school, the cultural festival had been something Makoto looked forward to all year. In the weeks leading up to it, the atmosphere surrounding the school was even more pleasant and amicable than usual as everyone put in effort to make their class' event stand out. Preparing their event was a lot of fun, but the real fun came when their hard work came to fruition and the festival began. Seeing what all his classmates came up with, showcasing what his class made, enjoying all kinds of food at the various stalls and cafés, watching recitals and plays, it was a blast from start to finish. It was a time of unity between classmates and at the end, he was left feeling satisfied and fulfilled.
Makoto hadn't expected the enjoyment of it would dwindle when he got to university. On the contrary: everything was on a much grander scale and there were a lot fewer restrictions than in high school. Because of his job, Makoto wasn't in a club and therefore hadn't participated in the organisation, but he'd been looking forward to going to the festival with Haruka and experiencing what his friends had been working on for so long.
But more than twelve years of amusing cultural festivals were at risk of being destroyed in a single minute.
"Come on, Tachibana," Takagi said. "It's not that scary, I promise."
The axe headband sticking out between his copper-coloured locks and the fake blood trailing down his forehead did not support his claim. The instant Makoto spotted his friend, he had let out an audible shriek, drawing the attention of everyone in the hallway and sending his own blood rushing to his cheeks.
"You don't have to, Makoto," Haruka said from beside him and although he appreciated his support, it only strengthened Makoto's doubt.
Takagi had been a good friend of his since day one of university. They sat next to each other in Psychology and hit it off right away, agreeing to swap notes and help each other wherever they could. Quickly thereafter, Takagi had joined the Movie Research Club and, in collaboration with the Creative Writing Club, they had created a haunted house for the festival.
According to the advertisement posters, it was supposed to be like stepping inside a horror movie, a storyline the visitor was the protagonist of. That description set off numerous alarm bells in Makoto's head. He avoided haunted houses like the plague and vehemently refused to watch horror movies and this brought the worst of two worlds together.
The decision of whether or not to partake in this particular event seemed crystal clear. After all, he had strategically evaded the haunted houses in past festivals and had planned to continue this streak. But there was one roadblock: Makoto was a giant pushover.
"We all worked so hard on this and I would love for you to see what we made." Takagi slapped his hands together and bowed his head, nearly smacking Haruka with his axe-handle. "It's like a compilation of horror movie clichés, so it's more funny than anything. But if you do think it's too scary, I'll treat you to whatever you want."
There it was. It was not so much the promise that persuaded him, but the fear of disappointing his friend.
"W-Well, if you insist it's not that scary…" Makoto trailed off with an awkward chuckle.
"Thanks man, I appreciate it," Takagi said with a pat on Makoto's shoulder. "I hope you enjoy it. You too, Haru!"
With that, he stormed off to a group of young women to coax them into entering the haunted house as well.
The exchange left a frown on Haruka's face. "How am I on a first-name basis with your friend but you aren't?"
The dry comment dissipated some of the tension gripping Makoto's stomach. "Sorry, I think it's because I talk about you so much."
"Hm," Haruka hummed, and when he was sure Takagi was out of earshot, he said, "Makoto, you don't have to go in if you're not comfortable. I can go in by myself and tell you about it afterwards, in case he asks you what you think of it later."
Despite feeling like he was seconds removed from willingly throwing himself off a cliff, Makoto smiled. "Thanks, Haru, but I'll go with you. He said it wasn't that scary, so I should be fine."
Except he wasn't fine. The instant he stood before the room and heard the eerie music, Makoto knew he made a huge mistake.
When they entered the house, they got a handful of cards with dialogue options that they would need for certain checkpoints, then the interactive movie began. There was no way back.
Following the story that was being portrayed, Haruka and he moved into a vacant house that was far cheaper than the surrounding lots in the neighbourhood - a house Makoto would never buy in reality for obvious reasons. Right away, strange things began to happen in the house: lights flickered, keys clinked, lamps fell over and the phone rang, but when Haruka picked up, the line was dead. That was already enough to have Makoto clinging to Haruka's arm.
"It's alright, Makoto," Haruka said, rubbing his skin with his thumb. "Just close your eyes and try to think of something else. I'll guide us through."
Haruka's advice was a small comfort, but it was futile. Makoto's heart was actively trying to burst through his ribcage and his fight-flight-or-freeze instinct had kicked in, therefore he couldn't tear his eyes away from any of the things that were happening around him. Logically, he knew everything was fabricated by his peers, but it felt so real. This was exactly why he hated horror. How could anyone enjoy being scared?
When Makoto had unsuccessfully convinced Haruka it was fine, they continued. They had to investigate the reason behind these weird occurrences and found out that a hundred years ago, a young girl was murdered inside their house. It had been haunted ever since by various vengeful spirits and the only way to break the curse that had befallen the house was to figure out who the killer had been.
What the conclusion to the story was, Makoto didn't even care. A light, feminine voice ruptured the silence, ominously whispering about bringing forth suffering to those who had wronged her; suffering that exceeded the torture she endured. Makoto clamped onto Haruka's shoulders as he scanned the room to see where it was coming from. A short girl in torn, ivory robes emerged from the darkness, hunched over with her long dark hair obscuring her stark white face. She glided closer and when she stood before them, she looked up and revealed her pitch-black eyes.
When she popped up into his field of vision, Makoto screamed so loudly it alerted all the orcas within a thousand-mile radius. He nearly jumped on Haruka's neck in an attempt to hide his large frame behind Haruka's smaller one.
Fortunately, the girl noticed how genuinely terrified he was. She recoiled and forwent her script in favour of asking if he was alright, voice a bit heavier than the childlike tone she put on. Before Makoto could come with excuses, Haruka spoke up.
"He's not alright. Is there a way for us to leave?"
The girl nodded. "Code yellow!" she yelled, her voice vibrating throughout the area, then she turned back to them. "You can walk through now. No one will bother you."
"Thanks," Haruka said, and he tugged Makoto along by the hand. "Come on, let's get out of here."
Shame filled Makoto's senses, but when they passed through the rest of the haunted house and he saw the bloodied decor and props, relief washed over him. If he had to stay for the rest, he would either leave crying or in a fear-induced coma, so this was better for everyone involved.
What he did take away from this was that he would no longer trust Takagi's judgement. More funny than anything, he said. The only funny thing that happened inside that haunted house was Makoto's pathetic reaction.
When they were finally outside in the daylight again, Haruka dragged him over to a bench. Once he was seated safely, Makoto's soul returned to his body and his back slumped like all the life force had been sucked out of him.
"Are you okay?"
He looked up at Haruka with blazing cheeks. "I'm sorry, Haru. Because of me, you didn't get to experience the haunted house like it was intended."
Haruka merely shrugged. "As if I care about that. I just want you to be comfortable. But you do need to grow a spine."
"I know," Makoto said, head hanging low, "My childish fears always ruin everything."
"That's not it," Haruka said with a squeeze to Makoto's knee. "It's not weird or embarrassing to be scared of these things, a lot of people are. But next time, you need to come out for it and reject these offers right away. Stop being so afraid of letting people down and straight-up tell them no if you don't want to do something."
It was hard, but Haruka was right. He was an adult now and he should act like one. That included setting boundaries and adhering to them. "You're right. I'll tell Takagi-kun I couldn't handle it and that I won't go in next time. From now on, no more haunted houses or anything else ghost or murder-related for me."
"Good," Haruka said, bidding him a gentle smile that calmed Makoto's overworked heart. "Takagi owes us, but we'll find him later. First, is there anything you still wanted to see or do?"
The terror within his gut mellowed out and he smiled back at Haruka. "Well, I saw a sign for a sweets café earlier. Maybe we can check that out?"
"Sure. My treat," Haruka said and Makoto opened his mouth to protest, but he sent him a look that made it clear there was no room for argument.
Hand in hand they strolled over the campus towards the building that hosted the café. Haruka asked him what kind of pastries he was hoping they'd have and Makoto's mouth began to water at the thought of cakes and brownies.
If there was anyone who could chase off all the bad images and demons that resided in Makoto's mind, it was Haruka. It had been like that since they were kids and it would stay that way even as they grew older, because some things never changed.

𝓟𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪
Personality: A serious and fussy girl, Rosamond rarely diverts from a stern expression. Far too serious for her own good, she often seems somewhat cold and intimidating because of her stoic nature, in which she displays a strict emotion most of the time. She tends to stubbornly deny liking or being fond of certain things, and also denies smiling or laughing, if she’s caught making such gestures. She also has a blunt side to her personality and can come across as cold or condescending.
Rosamond is fairly stiff and sharp, and is highly stubborn when trying to do what she believes is best for others. She is polite and very formal, and addresses upperclassmen as “senpai”, and her peers by their last names. She does not look kindly upon nicknames, but tolerates them when given by people she is close to. She is prone to making snide or rude remarks when annoyed and angered, or if she feels that people are not performing up to their standards.
She can be kind and caring as well, but doesn’t flaunt that side of her, nor does she draw attention to it. Kind acts are done by Rosamond in secret and usually without being asked, such as by turning on the lights when someone is reading, or setting a plate of fresh-cut fruits down for them after they’ve been studying for a while.
Alignment: Neutral Good
Strengths: Persistent, loyal, caring, reserved, self-reliant, independent, solemn, diligent, level-headed
Flaws: Haughty, prim, stubborn, overly-serious, feisty, prideful, distant, sharp-tongued, a perfectionist
𝓟𝓪𝓼𝓽
The Khan family have been soldiers and warriors guarding the Land of Flowers for generations, and to the Khan family, being called to serve is the highest honour. Rosamond was expected to follow in their footsteps as well, and she would train diligently, determined to make her family proud. However, no matter how hard she trained, she would never be able to meet the high standards and expectations imposed by her father, a fact which still pains her, as she wants nothing more than to be acknowledged by her family. Her inferiority and lack of self-confidence would further be emphasised when her magic developed, further proving that she was not made for war, as her father had told her, his words cruelly ringing out in her head.
Rosamond would later enroll in Night Raven College, and would be surprised, and a tad upset when the mirror placed her in Khan Zhao, as the atmosphere reminded her a little too much of home. At first, she is reluctant to interact with her dorm mates, and is even more reluctant to ask for their help, but slowly, after getting to know them, Rosamond tries to act more kindly to her dorm mates and tries to get to know them more.
𝓢𝓹𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓼
Rosamond’s magic is plant and flower-based and is suited more for support and recovery. Her current goal is training until she can master attack spells. She views her magic as being a source of shame to her family, and rarely uses it if she can avoid it.
Healing Cradle, Balm of Gilead: The user summons a plant called the balm of gilead, and uses them to form a spherical cradle around the user or another target. The user is able to generate multiple cradles to heal multiple people at once. However, each cradle can only contain a single person. One of the disadvantages of the spell is the requirement of the user or anyone to stay within the cradle for a period of time until the injuries are healed. During this time, they are defenceless against any attacks. The spell has been proven to be quite powerful as it can heal someone from dying of a critical injury in a short time.
Healing Shower of Apple Blossoms: The user grows a tree, and by standing under the falling blossoms, the user and the targets are able to be healed of their injuries. However, the spell takes a considerable amount of time to heal injuries and is unsuitable to be used for critical and life-threatening injuries.
Cherry Blossom Blizzard: The user generates a large amount of cherry blossoms that can obscure the vision of enemies on the battlefield.
Thorns of The Briar Rose: The user conjures vines with thorned roses, forming a barrier that can protect or confine people.
Unique Magic: The Dark Side of The Moon. Invoking her unique magic casts a shadow around the target, and whoever steps into the shadow will have their five senses (sight, taste, hearing, feeling and smell) cut off.
𝓣𝓻𝓲𝓿𝓲𝓪
- Rosamond prefers tea to coffee, but has to add at least three cubes of sugar into her tea. She also enjoys drinking bubble tea, and frequently tries new flavours.
- She wears combat boots, and keeps knives tucked away in them, just in case.
- Rosamond has a pet dog, but had to leave him at home.
- Rosamond is a skilled rider, who loves to ride. Her riding is the one thing that her father could not find fault with.
- She wakes up at five every morning to train.
- Rosamond gets cold easily, and suffers most during winter. She rarely leaves the dorm without being bundled up in a heavy jacket.
- Although her best subject is PE, she maintains A grades in her other subjects as well.
- Her favourite fruits are apples.
- Her favourite dessert is tanghulu.

Animation Winner and BEST SAILOR MOON ANGST
Anyway, without further ado, the winner for Animation Day of Eight Days is:
A PLACE FURTHER THAN THE UNIVERSE
Which actually had a pretty decent margin over the second-place winner, Rose of Versailles.
And now, the finest artisanal Angsty Sailor Moon Headcanons, FOR ENTRIES.
Pluto-It’s hard to get close to people when you know everything they will do, but nothing about how they will feel. There’s always the feeling that everything you do is kinda pointless, because you know what will happen to them and don’t know if what you do will change it, for good or bad. You can just withdraw from everyone to the gates of time and do your duty, but then you feel like you are missing chances to make other people or yourself happy. Trying to make friends with people you don’t know everything about is weird after knowing everything that will happen to everyone else, but you have to push through and hope for the best. You talked to usage about this and she suggested you get a pet, because “ they will defiantly love you if you are nice to them!”. So now it’s just you and Cheddar, that big orange idiot cat you saw in the shelter that the staff said was very loving, if he learned to trust you, in a small apartment above a laundromat. --- BeefSalad33 (Love some PLuto angst!)
Sometimes, Makoto has to take a break from having her friends drop by for dinners or snacks or anything else. She leaves her door locked, pretends she's not home, and does what she can to pretend she's normal when she has to be at school or work. It's both everybody's and no one's fault.
When they stay too late into the night and all pass out before skittering away one by one in the morning. When a monster attacks just as everyone's halfway through their meal, and all feel too drained to go back to a party after the fight. When someone had a tantrum and killed the buzz- often early on, not so much after a few months but never *never* happening. Those times, Mako came back to an empty apartment, messy with life, and fear, dread, anger, emptiness all flooded over her.
She'd be that little girl again, pulled from class. Putting things in order for family to come over, not really knowing why, all by herself. Watching practical strangers, known only to her blood, go through the papers her mother carefully kept. Arguing with those strangers over if her father's weird travel keepsakes could be sold, not being able to say why except by a stomp of her foot and "It's ours! It belongs here!" She'd be that small girl, alone, tired, fumbling through things she'd half-watched her mother do when she wasn't parroting the heroes on tv.
 She'd be abandoned.
So Mako took a week, a couple days, once it was a mere lucky hour, to wallow in it like she wouldn't let herself do anything else. She'd be that girl, for a time, and then come back to herself when the seventh knock on her door that day became a reminder: she wasn't abandoned. Her friends would come back.
She just had to get ready for them. --- @katrani (I don’t really get into Mako--not out of dislike, just, I don’t, but this was GREAT)
Sailor Senshi: since the beginning of time, the Senshi have always given their entire life and soul to their service. When a Senshi dies (regardless whether in battle or of old age), their soul/essence/power is absorbed into the power of that Senshi.  When the next person takes up the mantle, they are slightly stronger than the previous incarnation. Even Pluto, eternal Sentinel, has no idea how many previous versions of Pluto had previously held the post and now reside in her staff to power her.  Michiru alone has a premonition of this fate, and she is never quite sure if it is kindness or cruelty to not tell Haruka of their eventual fate. --- @amberlilly (mmmmmmmm love and find delicious when they cannot escape the moon even in death FEED ME)
MAS, when Haruka is at her worst, determined to walk again and hurting herself in the process, spiraling, not being there for the kid she always wanted, convinced she has no life or worth without her legs and speed and 'independence,' as Michiru seriously begins to consider and draw up paperwork for a divorce, she dreams of that first battle. Michiru Wanting and Deciding that she deserves as least a companion in the hot butch who she doesn't realize she'll come to love so much. Fate would allow her this small pleasure. She remembers tipping the scales and forcing Haruka's hand with the transformation ring, sealing a fate she needn't have ever had to have. Michiru wakes up crying. She thinks maybe bc of all this it would be selfish to divorce now even though during better moments she knows it's best for M.A. But to escape the pain of watching the person she chained to her fate suffer under its weight. Well she might still be that selfish creature and leave Haruka instead of bear witness. --- @thoughtfulfangirling (This is ALMOST cheating, but this is my x2 points winner, as believe it or not, I have never connected everything that goes wrong in MaS with the idea that MIchiru manipulated Haruka into taking on the mantle of Senshi. INCREDIBLE! ACE HIGH!)
Mina understands swords. She can wield a rapier, or a broadsword, or a stone greatsword as if it is an extension of her arm. She has an instinctive feel for when to slice, when to hack, and when to stab. She weighs up her enemy's strengths and weaknesses and reaches for the correct tool without even looking. But when you are a hammer, everything becomes a nail; when you are a general, everyone becomes a sword. Mako is a claymore, heavy, unsubtle, made to do heavy damage. Michiru is a dagger, secretly fatal, poison tipped. Rei is a katana, elegant, swift, light. Ami is a rapier, precise, strategic. And Haruka. She had been unsure of Haruka, but when she saw the still body and the glowing sword above it, she knew it could never have been anything else. Haruka is a curved saber. Slicing rapidly through the enemy, always on the move. Minako knows that no matter how fond of a weapon she is, she cannot use it gently, or hesitate to break it, or leave it behind, if necessary. And Minako always knows which sword is best for any battle. And when you are a general, everyone is a sword. ---- @incorrecttact (This almost got a pass from me for not angsty until I saw the bit about Minako being fond of a weapon but having to willing to break it or leave it behind and YES)
THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING MY PAPERWORK MORE FUN

Why do you like Mirei Park? She ripped apart Kiryu's family by guilt-tripping him into leaving the orphanage for the sake of the kids' 'dreams' (all the kids told her was that they're happy, not that they had dreams they wanted to pursue) for a flimsy reason (some people in Haruka's fanbase would have had the means to unearth her past anyway), threatened to cut funding to the orphanage right to Haruka's face, slapped Horie without asking questions first, and fucked Ogita over with the contract.
I’ll get to a straight answer to your question, but first I just want to remark on something. Majima is my fave character, and I post about him a lot. Way more than about Mirei, in fact. But no one’s ever asked me why I like Majima. Majima stalks Kiryu and initiates fights non-consensually. Majima kidnaps a little girl. He also assaults and threatens the woman in Shangri-La, and he abuses the Majima Family relentlessly. He’s also, like, an organized crime boss.
So Majima may not be “A Bad Person”TM but he certainly does a lot of bad things. But we don’t talk about it very much. Why is that? I think it’s probably because the whimsy and drama and and then the tragedy in his story draw us in, and let us give him the benefit of the doubt, until we learn enough to realize that there are good parts of Majima too, maybe that he is ‘fundamentally’ good, whatever that means - that he has just suffered a lot, and suffered, and suffered, and changed because of it. Changed for the worse - but that doesn’t mean we can’t like him. We all mostly agree on that, I think. Majima is a fan favourite character. People like him, even though he’s made so many horrible decisions.
Let’s extend the same courtesy to Mirei, ok? Nobody chooses their favourite characters by choosing whichever character is the most morally perfect. Mirei’s kind of horrible and I think that’s LOVELY. I LIKE how she is hard and nasty and ruthless. I like how she is allowed to be that way and still sometimes be so good and so soft. Mirei is my second favourite character of all, because to me she really seems like a real, flawed person, and because I so rarely get to see female characters who are tough and broken without being a mere pile of tropes. Mirei is very complicated, and i like her not despite but because of her flaws. I found her compelling; that’s why I like her. Not because I condone her business practices or because I would vote for her in an election.
Thanks for the question! I hope this makes sense.

Fairy Tales and Other Indignities
A present for @docholligay! This was an interesting experience because, unlike the two fics I’ve written in the past year or two, I knew I wanted to write a fic but had nothing specific in mind. I came up with the first paragraph and then thought of different things that could go with it. This is what I came up with and I’m quite happy with it. I hope everyone enjoys!
Michiru was unsure how many deities she had upset and how many different lives she had done so, but it must have been more than a few in both cases. It was the only explanation for the situation she currently found herself in.
She had often found villains to be unpleasant but this was quite beyond the pale. It was deplorable enough that Haruka had gotten herself kidnapped and put, if one believed the villain, into “eternal sleep”. It was appalling enough that she had been listening to a monologue that was now coming to the ten minute mark. But it was absolutely abominable that apparently this particular villain had read too many fairy tales and had come to the decision, with what truly miniscule brain power he had, that he wanted the Senshi to relive them.
Michiru had no idea what fairy tale the other Senshi had found themselves in but she would dare any of them to say that they had it worse off than her. Yes, rescuing Haruka from a thorn-covered castle and giving her true love’s kiss (only years of practice in keeping her face placid kept her from physically grimacing when he said that) was easy. But everyone would agree that dealing with the aftermath of it, of dealing with a Haruka who had somehow found herself in the place of princess instead of prince, was going to be a truly abysmal experience. (For all involved. Michiru had no reason to save everyone else from the constant complaining that was looming in her future and she was a firm believer that if she had to suffer, so did those around her. Besides, perhaps Minako’s obnoxiously loud behavior would finally prove itself useful and she would draw Haruka’s attention and thus take the majority of the complaining on herself.)
“You must be jesting,” she finally interrupted. She knew it was a nonsensical statement to make, she knew that this man was serious, and yet somehow, out of everything that she had dealt with and seen in her life, this had to be the most improbable one yet.
“I never jest,” he said imperiously. “You Senshi are so weak that I will use children’s tales to destroy you!”
Michiru was not one to say, as other Senshi often did, “for fuck’s sake” but she was sorely tempted to at this moment. However, just because the situation was obnoxious to the extreme did not mean she needed to resort to vulgarity. Instead, she gave the only logical response one could give in such a situation: “Deep Submerge!” The fact that he died immediately only made the whole situation that much more deplorable. She would have to deal with the aftermath of this for days, if not weeks, to come and yet he was so weak as to only require one attack before he died.
Michiru sighed and then calmly waited for the thorny vines in front of her to disappear. She waited patiently for three minutes. The vines were not disappearing. Michiru wondered if praying to any non-specific deities and apologizing for any past (life) transgressions could possibly get her out of this situation. She was not above praying when the need was great and surely this situation qualified.
After another two minutes, with the vines doing nothing whatsoever other than existing, Michiru allowed herself to sigh the sigh of the truly beleaguered. After all, there was no one around to hear her and so what did it matter if she allowed herself an uncouth moment of self-pity.
Pulling herself back together, just because she was alone and in a truly obnoxious situation did not mean that she had to lose her propriety completely, she put out a hand and cast Deep Submerge at the vines. She watched as the ball raced toward them. She watched as the ball reached them. She watched as it passed through the vines as though her attack was nothing more than water.
For fuck’s sake, Michiru thought. She would never let those words leave her lips, not even with no one around to hear them as, unlike certain blonde hair beribboned Senshi she knew, she had a sense of decorum. But she thought they were particularly apt in this situation and so allowed them to echo in her head.
For a moment she simply stood there and then Michiru put her hand out. She and Haruka had practiced this but she had never before found herself in a situation where she had had actual need to do it. Apparently today, of all days, was the day she needed to and so she pulled Haruka’s sword into her hand. It came, as easily as it had every time she had tried before, and Michiru stared up at the expanse of vines before her, a tower peeking out over the top. For a moment Michiru let herself just sit with the fact that this was her life. Transforming into a magical soldier who fought villains that did things like kidnap the woman she loved and forced her to reenact a fairy tale that even when Michiru was small she found nonsensical and uninspired. And then she started swinging the blade.
By the time Michiru had reached the tower she was covered in a faint sheen of sweat and scratches, her arm aching. The vines had gone on far longer than she had been expecting and, for the first time in her life, she wished that Usagi were here. She had the ability to bring people back from the dead; perhaps with enough convincing lies Michiru could persuade her to bring the villain back so she could have the pleasure of killing him again. If she distracted Usagi with some sort of cake, she might even have the time to make it slow and painful.
As she looked up at the tower she realized something: it was much taller than it had appeared from further away. She flicked her wrist, Haruka’s sword going back from whence it came, and braced herself. She knew exactly what she was going to find behind that door when she opened it and, having already suffered so many indiginaties today, with so many more awaiting her in the future, she couldn’t stop herself from hoping that she was somehow wrong.
She was not wrong.
She opened the door and simply stood there for a moment, gaze slowly following stairs that appeared to go ever upward. She had lived in many penthouses that went up that far. She had never walked up the stairs to get to them for good reason.
If she distracted Usagi with two cakes, she’d have even longer to torture him, Michiru thought to herself as she began to climb.
By the time she reached the top she was drenched in sweat, hair clinging to her forehead and the sides of her face. Being a Senshi meant that she had a huge amount of endurance but it was not limitless and getting through the vines had already used up quite a bit of it. She had used up the rest during the climb. She had, at least, kept herself entertained by thinking of various ways to torture the villain, as well as how she would convince Usagi to resurrect him.
She pushed the hair off her face as she allowed herself a moment to breathe. It was almost done and then she merely had to get through the next week or two of the fallout awaiting her before everything went back to normal.
She opened the door.
“For fuck’s sake!”
For there Haruka was, laying on a lush bed, hair golden and shining in the sunlight, her beautiful face soft in sleep while wearing a pink. ruffled. lacy. nightgown.
“For fuck’s sake,” Michiru said again. Sometimes, decorum be damned, only vulgarity would do.

All my Tarot Card designs
Pulled the 9 of Swords in a tarot reading recently and it inspired me to make my own card!
Check out the High-res version on my Patreon (for free!!!) Also it was available 2 days earlier than on Tumblr just letting you know kthxbyeeeeee
BTW. Hand lettering is harddddd. Just writing 'Blades' took for freaking ever! But I really like how it came out so worth in my opinion.
I tried something a little different with the shading, too! I incorporated some sharper, pen-and-ink type strokes because I like drawing squiggles to indicate tension. This wasn't initially intentional, but I think it also fits with the 'sharper' themes of the swords suit.
I did intentionally try to use cooler grays and whites for the shading. I wanted each suit to be distinct from the other visually so you could differentiate between them at a glance. The swords to me feel very cold and impersonal so I tried to make that come across in the actual art. I think I did a good job but lemme know lol.
Interpretations and my reasoning for choosing Kiryu for this card are below the cut so check those out if you're interested (I'd really appreciate it!!!)
The suffering depicted in the 9 of swords is rivaled only by that of the 3 of swords. The figure in this card is so consumed by their trauma, anxiety, fears, or worries (or even all 4) that it's nearly impossible to perceive the world outside of themselves; not in a selfish way, but rather due to the intensity of their pain.
The 9 of Swords is haunted by nightmares-- frequent reminders of their past: their mistakes, the ways they've been hurt, and the actions they could've taken to prevent all of this from happening in the first place. They've been so plagued by their thoughts that considering a future without this pain feels almost impossible.
With this card, we see the sheer power of the human mind at its most destructive. If this cycle is not broken, the 9 of Swords' pain will escalate to the 10 of Swords. This is not a sustainable cycle for anyone involved; changes must be made.
Reversed, we still see the pain depicted in the upright position, but there's a glimpse of a way out. While it's not easy to overcome your trauma or pain, the 9 of Swords at least has a desire to get out of this cycle-- to begin to heal. They've descended into their mind as far as they'd like and now they wish to venture outside themselves, back into the wider world.
Maybe they haven't healed yet, but they can at least hope that they can begin the process.
The design of this card was inspired mostly by the opening of Yakuza 2. Kiryu's plagued by the deaths of his family and is borderline suicidal because of this pain. He's having nightmares of their final moments and isn't able to be fully present in his daughter's life (Haruka's the one getting ready and cooking breakfast for the two of them).
When deciding on the background of this card, I wanted to try and depict the feeling of complete hopelessness that exists within this card. Normally, the Rider-Waite-Smith cards have backgrounds of varying complexity. I'd venture to say that the 9 of Swords is the only card where there isn't a background at all. Just the figure, their bed, and the swords, the constant reminder of their past. This person is literally incapable of seeing past their regrets and anxiety and fear because these emotions are so intense. It's haunting, in a way.
I chose to have the swords in this card pointed at Kiryu because a common theme in his grief, I feel, is that he feels that he's the one at fault. He believes that had he not gotten involved, his loved ones wouldn't be suffering right now. So the swords, rather than being passive elements lingering above, are sharpened, dangerous. They're ready to get retribution for the people that have been hurt. Unlike Kiryu, they'll inflict pain and feel no remorse.
On a lighter note, we see periods in Kiryu's life where he's able to somewhat escape his thoughts and attempt to make a happier life for himself, namely when he's running Morning Glory. This is the one time in Kiryu's life where we see him happy and fulfilled. He's still experiencing the effects of his past. He still has the habits he developed in response to this past, but he's trying to create a better life. One that he can share with his family.
What's important to remember about the 9 of Swords is that your thoughts don't have to be real. They don't have to dictate the course of your life. While it can feel like there's no escaping your pain, know that help is out there and there are others that are willing to help you.

Sekai Seifuku Sakusen Wishlist
Hello people~
Say, does anyone still remember that figure line by Megahouse *retches* ?
Well, it was a short-lived series focused on, as the name (“World Uniform Operation”) suggests, showcasing female characters in their school uniforms.
To my knowledge, all of them were released as 1/10 scaled (eww). And the Precure seasons that had the privilege of getting figures...
Tumblr media
Were Futari Wa, Fresh and Heartcatch.
Sailor Moon got theirs as well (the Inner Senshi + Naru) but they were very meh, imo. You were better off getting a more dynamic-looking prize figure at a significantly lesser cost.
Anyways, back to Precure. Not surprised about these three given their seasons’ popularity up to that point. But a shame because as of 2016, there hasn’t been announcement of any new figures. Which basically means, this line didn’t do well. Didn’t do well = the project is more or less cancelled.
On one hand, I’m sorta glad cuz the prices on these figures were ludicrous, especially when made at that scale and with Megahouse’s poor quality track record (I don’t even want to go into all that limited exclusivity bullshit). I bought Tsubomi and Itsuki and they seemed pretty alright. Still too much for a scale with such a simple design, though.
Then on the other, I can’t help but whine to myself a little cuz this is such a great concept. We rarely get merchandise of the Cures in their civilian forms and if they have there Cure alter-egos to go with them, it would be an awesome display on a collector’s shelf.
*SIGH* ...oh well.
That said...if there was a continuation for this series, then here’s my wishlist of the seasons + uniforms I want the most to least:
Tumblr media
1) MahoPre - Nobody should be surprised that this is my first pick. MahoPre will always have a very deep, very special place in my heart and as far as uniforms go, the Magic Academy one is indeed my top favorite in all of Precure.
Because duh, it’s for magic school, not regular school, so the design had to match with that idea in mind. And it turned out so charming, didn’t it? I love the magenta/pink color scheme, the plaid bow, the mini sewn-on cape.
Definitely would want the witch hats and wands with them as well. Maybe even the brooms if someone’s feeling generous, enough? hehe :)
Dude, I should just open up my own figure company and make these myself.
Tumblr media
2) Go!Pri - I wasn’t a fan of overalls growing up but my opinion of them has shifted to a more positive one recently thanks to seeing the latest fashion trends and Precure’s influence on me.
Really, the character designers draw the girls so cute in overall dresses that I can’t help but think it as well!
Anyways, it seems I have a penchant for academy uniforms or something. There’s a combination of cuteness and sophistication there that I find difficult to resist. Also, the purple undershirt is very fitting since they attend Royal Academy. Wish my school uniform was that nice-looking but alas, I didn’t go to an academy in the Precure world. :P
Anyways, I wouldn’t get all the girls from Go!Pri. Just Kirara and Towa who are my forever favorites. <3
I’ve also seen someone’s fanart of them as a pair (and Haruka + Minami as another pair) based on the Sekai Seifuku Sakusen concept so you can imagine the huge disappointment I felt when I knew Megahouse would never get to this season. *sobbing*
Tumblr media
3) KiraPre - As I said in another post, I’m not collecting KiraPre merchandise but the KiraPati uniform is to die for.
I know this breaks the trend of the line needing to be in “school uniforms” but KiraPre’s school uniforms aren’t anything to write home about. These, however, are much more adorable and therefore, more marketable. ;)
Tumblr media
4) StarPre - SERAFUKU BISHOUJO SENSHI
For sure, since they both have space themes, it was only appropriate for StarPre to pay homage to Sailor Moon with having the Star girls wear serafuku.
I like the simplicity of it as well. Hehe~ ^^
And whether I would want everyone or not...it really depends on what kind of poses they’re in and if they can complement each other well.
Also, I suppose since Yuni never went to school, she’d just have a figure in her normal Blue Cat outfit which is fine, too.
Tumblr media
5) SuitePre - Mm, yes, this one I’ve been waiting the longest for, despite the seasons listed before it on this list.
I wouldn’t say Suite’s uniform is the most unique but I do love the contrast of the overall cyan color with the magenta contours and bow. It’s a shade I don’t think I’ll ever see on another school uniform and even so, it’ll probably be hard to pull off nicely.
Suite managed to do it and I’m sure we can find tons of references to give the girls the perfect pose. So yea, I’d definitely consider the whole set as well if everyone can get a great sculpt and paint job.
As for Ako, she doesn’t have a school uniform so we can just put her in the same group as Aguri and Emiru and call it the Pipsqueak Elementary Squad.
Tumblr media
6) HealPre - I love this uniform immensely for how neat and snug it looks. Not to mention, the dark green just makes it look very comfortable to wear overall. I know, maybe it’s just me being weird but it gives off a very calming effect.
And as Precure allows for more variations in clothing and accessories among the main cast, it would make for more interesting figures as well. Then you wouldn’t feel like you’re getting the same figure with only different heads and poses.
...and socks.
Would definitely love to have Nodoka.
Tumblr media
7) Hugtto - Pretty much the same reasoning as HealPre’s above.
In all honesty, there’s nothing that special about this uniform so the fact that the Hugtto girls could wear something of their own choice over it really brings out their characters more that way.
Tumblr media
8) SmilePre - Also like Heal and Hugtto above but to a lesser extent, I guess.
Still, Smile is quite favored among Precure seasons so I’d think they sell well regardless.
This uniform isn’t half bad either. I’m not sure why because there’s not that huge of a resemblance but looking at their shoulders kinda reminds me of a military officer’s uniform, especially from the back. Just a little bit.
My pick would definitely be Reika in this pose specifically.
Tumblr media
9) Splash Star - Let’s say for the record that I like all the Precure school uniforms (or just uniforms in general). So Splash Star should actually rank higher (around where Suite is) given its more unique design.
Hardly anyone else employs brown or plaid so this combination along with the sailor collar over the blazer (?)... I just think it makes Saki and Mai look very endearing. Hmm, yes, I approve! :D
However, this is a season I’m not familiar with so my demand for it is less than the others. But I do think they deserve to get their figures first. What with being the second Precure installment and all. shouldn’t that count for something?
Tumblr media
10) Yes! 5 - Oh, I do love the Yes!5 girls.
But...they suffer from lack of variation the most out of all the other teams. Seriously, even in one set of of their casual clothes, they all own the same shirt albeit in their different, respective theme colors.
It’s...weird. But less so on a school uniform, I guess.
Anyways, pose and sculpt would be the trick here. Even though Yes! 5 does have its fair share of fans, with how old and poorly received both their seasons are, you’d be hardpressed to find a lot of collectors willing to shell out for figures of them. So there would have to be more effort in making them look exceptional to draw a crowd.
Tumblr media
11) DokiPre - It’s hard to find everyone wearing their uniforms in the same shot and frankly, I think I can count all the times I’ve seen Alice wearing her own uniform (it’s this) on one hand??
I mean, does Alice even go to school with all the private tutelage she probably receives or is it just a formality? ...I dunno.
Whatever. I think this uniform looks nice and the girls look nice but it’s not as eye-catching than if they were to wear their casual clothes.
Tumblr media
12) HaCha - Feel bad for putting this last because it certainly isn’t the worst of ‘em (none of them are) and I do quite like it (because there’s red and I like red).
It’s just...hmm, I dunno. I guess it’s because the top’s buttons sorta makes me think of a chef suit. It doesn’t bother me or anything but... it’s just the first thing I think of when I see it. ( ^ ^ ;)
*sigh* With how HaCha’s being treated in S.H. Figuarts department and its polarizing reception in the fandom in general, I doubt this would be a priority on many people’s wishlists. Still, it would be wonderful to see HaCha get even some love, y’know?
~~~~~
Yea.
My dreams aren’t that big but they’re long alright. :3
