What inspired you to add Powerhouse to Rhythm Section Wantad? I love it, but was curious about it.

JF: It is entirely from the brain of John Linnell. Powerhouse made quite the impression in our formative years. More recently, JL has insisted on a more musically correct take on it, which of course is his prerogative!

I've been doing a lotta art stuff cause I've had the energy to a lot recently plus it's fun to draw random things I got on here. And I saw that you changed the theme, it's cool!

It was a risky move but we decided it would be a useful way of sharing cultures. The humans proposed it as an 'exchange trip' where they would send a group of humans to live with us on our fleet ships for a time and we would send ten or so members of ours to live with the humans for a time. Of course higher command warned roundly about what a profoundly bad idea that was I mean before first contact the humans had widely hunted down and eliminated several of our colony ships cause they were 'spiky and menacing' and even after contact had been made humans were renown for their short tempers. But the human representatives assured that everything would be fine. And that we would coordinate the exchange programs to happen at the same time so that their crew members could be used as collateral and bargening. Though blackmail and hostages never seems to be a useful tactic to used against humans. But somehow the program went through.

About ten humans joined us and they all went to live with different families. It was tense at first but gradually they settled in. Our human was touchy about things especially certain aspects of human hustory such as how their civilization lost earth to pollution. But still was genuinely caring and willing to share most things. When we would all eat together the human would offer to clean up afterwards or even help run the replicator for meal prep. Naturally cause of the different microbiomes of our species that could have been a dangerous proposition but we appreciated it none the less.

And the human engaged well with our spawn. Showing genuine interest in their toys and models. The human even showed them some ways of mixing textured paste to replicate ground texture when building models. And in return our spawn would bring the human out and about for exploring and learning about our city while we were otherwise occupied woth work.

It was late into the humans stay when our spawn asked us if they could show the human their videogames. It had been a quiet day and the human seemed intrigued by the idea. So we agreed, though it was only after we heard the telltale blasterfire and warbles and screams from Invaders from the blue planet (one of our spawns favorite games that had the player defending against human invading mercenaries) that we rethought our decision. It wasn't exactly a hospitable front to be offering that our way of entertainment protrayed the humans as horrendous monsters. We went to check on them and our spawn and to provide correction, but the human explained that it was fine and that they were enjoying it. So we let them be.

I visited the humans chambers that evening to make amends.

"Human, may I talk? I wish to apologize."

There were sounds that sounded as whimpers and wet honks. Nothing I had ever heard a human make before. Before a voice called out a little less brazen confidently than usual.

"Y-yes you may come in." The human was staring out the window and had a package of soft paper opened next to them. "Please forgive the tears. You did nothing wrong I am not hurt. I am merely having g feelings after this days events." The human dabbed at their face which was shiney and wet. They seemed distressed.

"I hope I didn't come at a bad time I just wantad to apologize for my spawns behavior today."

"No its not a bad time, and no no they were great they seemed perfectly well behaved. And I enjoyed hanging out with them actually."

"But they showed you our games about killing you and that many of our people see you as monsters. Are you not offended? You seem in distress."

The human rumbled with a strange sound that seemed to grip their body in shakes and left the human bearing ther teeth in what I have come to understand is a smile afterwards.

"No no no. I am not offended. I'm flattered actually. And I was crying well because I was just struck by how amazing that all was."

"I'm sorry I don't understand."

" humans have told stories of ourselves and the vicious warriors of old for many years. The feared ones who would protect eachother and would do what needed to be done. It was the story we told ourselves to protect ourselves against the harsh reality that we weren't the most powerful or strongest species in our planet. On our planet we are actually deeply fragile and even many of the herbivores on our planet often killed and maimed our kind."

What a horrible world I couldn't even comprehend. That humans those unstoppable forces of vengeance and war were not the most dangerous things and were seen as frail and weak.

"So we told stories of our strength to embolden ourselves against our fragility. And to hear here on the other side if the world that we are considered something to be feared? How simply marvelous is that. We creatures of but thin bones and soft skin could be feared and mythologized as powerful as the ancient mammoths or as hordes of zombies. And by your kind too whom we so often feared in the same sorts of ways. We'll that is simply something."

The vicious .irthful gleam of pride and danger in the humans eye struck fear deep in me. Before I processed the humans words fully.

"Wait you feared us? In the same sorts of ways?"

"Well not exactly the same. We made videogames of similar nature where you would invade and we must protect our planet. And so to think that across the galaxcy there are humans and aliens all looking to the sky and at eachother telli g the same sorts of stories. Words of whispered terror about eachother across the universe when we are all merely people feeling the same things and accommodating for our inadeqyaci3s and facing our fears in games as entertainment. Well... it's just touching to think of the co neutrons and that we are all merely people of similar dreams and desires desperate our differences."

To take pride in being feared and even this profound joy as the human seemed to be expressing. I simply could not fathom it. And this creature feared us in the same way. Why what had we done wrong."

"What did we do wrong? Why did you fear us?"

"You did nothing wrong. Indeed you did nothing at all we didn't even know you. But the possibility of your existance was terrifying." At my look of confusion the human elaborated. "Humans survived theor word by intellectually outsmarted the world taking the physical dangers and challenges that threatened us and using them utilizing them. And so the possibility of advanced intelligent alien life who had more advanced technology than us. Who were smarter than us; better than us at the one thing we had relied on for survival for millennia. Yeah it's terrifying because what would or could we fall back on in that case?"

It was starting to make a twisted human sort of sense but I knew that I could never truly understand. And so after expressing this and my gratitude I made my retreat to let the human parse through their feelings on their own. I can't say that a part of me wasn't happy to see the humans return to their ship at the end of their stay. But that conversation still haunts me to this day.

Some time after first contact, humans discover alien video games. The aliens are mortified because many of their games feature humans as villains, but for some bizarre reason the humans are flattered.

This request is going to be for Jacen's sisters and his cousin. TRIGGER WARNING: NEGLECT, ABANDONMENT.

Jacen's mother abandoned him when he was five years old and his father remarried when he was seven. With his new wife, his father turned his back on Jacen, leaving him to live with his grandparents while he built a new life with his new wife. Said wife had a daughter from a previous marriage and then had two little girls with Jacen's dad. Jacen's dad always treated all three girls like they were his own and gave them the world but Jacen was never welcome in the family. At first, his dad would come to visit him from time to time but as he got older, the times he visited became less and less and Jacen eventually figured out that he wasn't wanted. Thankfully Jacen had his uncle and his uncle made sure to include Jacen in all the family activities. He practically raised him as a son. At the age of fourteen, he managed to get custody of the boy and moved him in with his family. Because of the man his uncle was, Jacen is the man he is today. All the faces are open but I'd prefer that we chat about the character you want to make before they are made. Just make sure you message me (cameo#3009) so you don't risk someone else taking the character you're thinking about making. STEP SISTER The Step Sister should be about the same age as Jacen, maybe even a tad older. Somewhere in the 32 - 36 age range. She has always thought that Jacen was troublesome and up to no good. I think they attended the same high school and even though they didn't associate with each other, they knew each other. I think they have a strong dislike for each other because she was raised to more or less believe that he wasn't good for anything and was beneath the family. He was always outcasted, never welcomed into the family and he's never felt like she was interested in having any sort of relationship with him. So there's a lot of tension here, a lot of disdain between them. Mostly they avoid each other but I'd love the give them a reason to have to be involved with each other's lives. Whether they continue hating each other or grow to understand each other is up to us as players but whatever happens, it won't be easy. Her face is open. Of course, she will have to have an ethnicity that matches that of their half-siblings. I imagine she's very put together and has a pretty good job, something not a dead end. She doesn't have to be an evil bitch but she's not all sugary sweet either. Maybe, much like Jacen, she's very well-liked though Jacen can't see why as he can't imagine why anyone would like her either. Just tension between them. MIDDLE SISTER This is the first of the children between Jacen's dad and his stepmother. Of the sisters, I feel like she might be the most indifferent to Jacen's existence. He's never really played a role in her life so she's never paid much attention to him. He's not family of any sort to her. He's just a dude who happens to have the same father as she does. She's the most open of the sisters. I'd love to develop them so that she has a feeling other than indifference for her brother and the situation they grew up in but really, she's entirely open. YOUNGEST SISTER This is the baby sister and while one of her sisters is indifferent and the other kind of hates Jacen, this sister absolutely adores her brother. She reached out to him when she was sixteen and was able to establish a relationship with him because she wanted to know her brother and she was happy to find that he wasn't half as evil as her mother made him out to be. Actually, these two are quite close now. I imagine lots of texting and a weekly/monthly lunch together. They are brother and sister and friends. She is a sweet, spunky girl who likes to make people laugh, a lot like Jacen does so they get along great. This is part is optional but I kind of like the idea of her being a single mother to a young daughter like 2-3 ish. Jacen would adore the little girl and love being "Uncle Jace" and love spoiling her. But that's optional and not a requirement. THE COUSIN - Reserved for Krissy This is Jacen's best friend in the whole world. They were raised as brothers and have always been partners in crime. There's no envy between these two. He tends to overthink things and be a little less of a clown than Jacen but the pair of them offset each other well. I think maybe he followed Jacen into the Coast Guard and is either a swimmer or a pilot. I don't have much for him really but he's incredibly important to Jacen. He's not an only child but he is the oldest of his family. I haven't set how many younger siblings he has. Probably between 1 and 3 younger siblings. -

He came back into Jonathan's life as suddenly as he left and using sex, an emotional control over Jon and peer pressure the two started stealing and racing cars. They got caught of course and rather than taking equal blame Cameron told the cops that the whole idea was Jon's and that he was a victim of broke home and shouldn't be blamed. It worked and Cameron was let go, he vanished leaving Jon to deal with the aftermath, namely being sent to Santa Cruz. He's in the city looking for Jonathan hoping to explain things, maybe even patch things up not knowing Jon was forced to sign up for marriage. So I plan to request the Sailor Scouts, Suki is 26 so I’d like for them all to be roughly around the same age within a year or two. I don’t really like to make people “pick” when they all became all friends, also accepting any gender for the other characters - the Usagi of the group is going to be male. But some gist of a idea is, that when Suki (Venus/Minako) moved when she was 14, she - slowly started to get comfortable with the idea of actually making and keeping friendships. I’d like to believe that some of the others had already been friends to keep the theme that Suki was the last to join the group. (Somewhat like Minako in the series.) But I am not at all pushing for that (I rather everyone sort of - find where they found one another, and plot it out with each other.) Below are some bare bone personality of each character. Rei and Ami are the ones that aren’t claimed, and they are the ones that will be needed for the balance of the other girls. k it was s REALLY cold it was on the news i think it was a winter before covid and i walked to the bus stop as usuall but uit was FEEZING cause canada -_- and myy snot nose runny very unpleasant. and i sat on the bus stop thing bench and my ass was FREEZING and numb and i just was like 🤩 pain ! i think i was waiting in less than negative 40 weather for my bus i forgot if i had gloves or not butf my hands were also ice

this guy was next to me and suggestde that i should go inside the corner storee that was just across the street but i refused bcus i didnt want to miss the BUS like an IDIAT! SO ANYWAY a bus finally came but it was a different one than the one i usually take. the bus driver told me that the one i usually take is cancelled and i made a :l face and took the bus. unfortunately that bus is like 2 bus stops away from the one i usually get off so i had to walk like a .. Yeah like a kilometer ish (0.621371 miles) i was still as cold as usuall and that day was like -50celcius / -58 farenhei t at that point and i FINALLY arrived @ schoo and and i was like 30 m inutes late for the first class -_- the plot twist here is half the class wasnt even there so i couldve stayed home if i wantad to!!!!! the end :]
