It's that special time of year again when I wh*re Kuroko out to the rest of the cast

I decided on a kissing meme for this year's theme, but was indecisive on who got what bc I'm a multi-ship wh*re. So, I made 2 random choice wheels (1 w/ characters, 1 w/ types of kisses) and decided that way to keep things fair and square... EXCEPT, Akashi rolled first and then got "kiss on the hand" which is literally what I drew for akakuro last year, so I had to spin again lmfao. murakuro getting dipped was also a hilarious roll bc of the obvious impracticality of it due to the size difference, so murakuro got more of a bigger moment 💜🩵

The Color Palette Challenge finale!

Kuroko + Kagami | Kise + Midorima | Aomine + Momoi

I remember I used to always make Mura too pale and somewhat recently corrected that. I was also aware I made his hair darker as opposed to light like the anime, but couldn't tell ya why.

Akashi also I knew I made his hair more red than magenta (like the anime does) because A) in the manga its more of a deep red, and B) "red" ("aka") is in his name, not magenta lol.

Based on this zodiac comparability thing i just did, Mura’s charisma is through the roof, not to mention he has 3 perfect matches (Leo; Kagami, Aquarius; Kuroko, Gemini; Kise), which is what lead to this lol. Murasakibara: beloved by all.

Especially funny to me bc my friend group is composed of a libra, leo, and aquarius. Now all we need is a Gemini.

I wanted this done in time for Murasakibara’s bday (10/09), but alas, life! So it’s a little late and a little rushed. 🙏🏻 Happy late bday, king. 💜

I’ve been having a lot of fun analyzing these zodiac signs for knb but now I fear I know what it’s like to be in Midorima’s head… And what a confusing, intriguing place it is.

it's Midorima's birthday, so naturally it was time for me to draw his second skin in my animal shapeshifter AU: a regal elk! I think I may use the excuse of bdays to finally draw everyone's animal form. at least the GoM's.

back when I was first writing this au, I had a really hard time picking a predator that fit him, since I wanted the GoM to all be rather intimidating and strong animals. But then I had the thought....what if he WASN'T a predator at all? He then ended up being the only non-predator on the GoM. but don't let his prey-status fool you, his animal form stands at 5 feet tall (152+cm) from hooves to shoulders, not including his head and impressive set of antlers. his stag form weights over 700 pounds (317+kg)!! you definitely don't want to be on the business-end of a pissed-off elk.

side note: bird shifters have it pretty easy in my au, since they don't really have a half-shifted form like most other shifters (who can be seen spotting their ears and tails when feeling overly excited/overexerted). Avian shifters only randomly shed feathers and their nails sharpen into talons when half-shifted. poor midorima though gets his ears, tail, smaller forms of his antlers, plus some of the speckling/freckles that can be seen on his animal form's coat. Takao of course finds all these things hilariously endearing, especially since it's not often that Midorima shifts in public, let alone lose control of his instincts enough to half-shift.

I'm a perpetual early bird, so here is my part of @knbexchange 's Valentine/White Day exchange. Surprise, @evelhak , I was your partner! And I don't only have these silly drawings to present to you, but a fic too!! These drawings are actually more-like bonus content that takes place after the fic. The fic details Momoi and Aomine's complicated thoughts as they help kagakuro prepare for a date night, which involves; makeovers, philosophical conversations, gift hunting, emotional confrontations...all that good stuff that you said you liked! I hope I did a good job capturing those things. I didn't get to go into how the date goes in the fic itself, so I figured I would draw it out. :D Can you spot the little hard-to-see surprise in pic 1?

Probably one of my oddest projects yet, but I've always wanted to compare what colors I choose when drawing the characters vs what the anime uses vs what Fujimaki uses. Color choices and art styles usually go hand in hand, so I wanted to see how weird the characters would look in my style with the two different canon color palettes. Conclusion; pretty fucking weird (to me, at least).

I've always suspected it, but I think this is pretty concrete evidence that I go bold when it comes to coloring (which I think fits my chonky lineart and cartoonist art style). It was funny to see that the anime colors especially are actually rather "dull", because they don't look it at all to me in the actual show. Fujimaki's style was hard to translate, since obviously he uses traditional mediums and also does a lot of blending/shading. I still tried my best to pick the colors that I thought were most prevalent in his images, even though, obviously, they aren't quite so flat in the actual illustrations. I used the special edition covers for the manga color palette, but I'm not 100% sure if Fujimaki himself drew/colored these special edition covers, so someone please correct me if wrong!

Some conclusions I made;

apparently, at some point, I decided to make Kuroko pale as hell??? i think he's always read as pale to me (bc compared to other average characters like Furihata and the GoM themselves, he's does look fairer-skinned imo. But apparently I leaned waaay into that lol. Once I got the actual canon color tones I was like "....oh. I made him sickly...". TBH tho, I think he looks better paler in my style, but that's probably because I got so used to drawing him that way lol. Please do lmk if you think I should begin to switch things up tho when it comes to my style!

kagami, alternatively, I ended up making tanner than canon it seems. but my (perhaps controversial) anime opinion is that Japanese artists tend to "whitewash" a little bit (aka they lean into lighter tones as opposed to darker when it comes to poc skintones). Now kagami, may or may not be mixed raced, but i've always thought a rich, tan skin tone fit him quite well, idk.

I already knew I did this, but its clear from these drawings that I really lean into the colors of their hair. once I get to the GoM, this will be very obvious ("I mean, the colors are in their NAMES. ofc i'm gonna exaggerate them" -> I'm sure that was my exact logic whilst picking my personal palette over the years).

since i'm lazy, i usually just make the characters hair and eye colors the exact same hue, so it was fun to see the different tones they can take in the canon palettes.

So yeah, I plan to go through all the GoM and compared my color preferences vs anime canon and manga canon, so look forward to that! If you read this far, thank you I love you.

If you guys give suggestions, perhaps I'll go back and make a "voted on" color palette, so please do let me know your opinions, in terms of what colors you think "feel right"/look best in my style! :)

I made this cover literally years ago for a grand AU/story that I will never do probably, but I was/still am pretty happy with it, so I figured I'd finally post it. Basically, it's about the Big 4 as Champions in a tournament, from 4 wizarding schools (Rapunzel: Beaubations, Jack: Ilvermorny, Merida: Hogwarts, Hiccup: Durmstrang). The title comes from the fact that 3/4 of them are heirs to kingdoms/tribes.

i'm still super bad at drawing animals, but I do plan on one day coming back and fixing seirin's designs here. especially tiger!kagami how the hell do you draw a tiger i still don't know

note: the second option with different colors for kagami and kuroko is just me visually testing out the look. in my verse, their animal forms have natural color schemes despite Kagami and the GoM's hair colors being, well, rainbow.

Kise is pretty consistent, that's rather funny to note. I've always sorta known, but this was proof that I draw Midorima's hair much darker than canon. I'm not sure why it's always "read" as a darker green for me? His skin tone I seemed to have gotten down pretty well! I think within the last two years that's something I've worked on, like I remember making an active change in the color I used.

BTW, if anyone wants to try this challenge, please feel free!
