the passenger (2023) is such a crazy watch from a place of passive suicidal ideation because benson feels so firmly in that camp at the beginning especially on a second watch, like suicidality feels like such a driving force for him. from the moment he has randy in the car all i can see is someone who has had idle fantasies for so long about ending his own life finally seeing the end coming near and he’s fucking ecstatic. like yes! i’m finally gonna be done with this shit, AND i got to help someone on the way out! he’s found this purpose in ‘helping’ randy and he comes at it so manically because he’s just gotta get this shit done and then he can fuck off into a pine box and stop dragging out his wasted life!… but then sheppard happens. and ms. beard happens. and the cops show up. and that fantasy is ripped away, and all benson can do is laugh at what a fucking idiot he was, thinking he’d grow up to be fucking anything at all.

can you imagine bensons car breaking down outside work. Its bullshit and hes pissed but luckily alone he ends up punching some random hunk of metal thas been chucked on the broken fence behind the parking lot hard enough to split knuckles and bones to rattle he just wanted to go home.

This leads to him dragging his just in case took kit from the backfloor popping the hood and leaning inside to assess the damage. Its an easier fix luckily but its gonna take a bit sighing deeply he tosses his work hat into the car. Untucks his work shirt and tosses it as well. Leaving him in a black shirt he had cut the sleeves off off and had bleached the ribcage and spine on himself a lifetime ago.

Time crawls on hes sweating hid ass off shirt sticking to his back and fingers covered in grease and oil. Sweat drips down his forehwad and when he wipes at it he smears the blacl grease whatever hell shower when he can fucking get home. Wiping hands on hia orange rag he is able to get the belt reattached smiling to himself patting the edge of the front bumper mumbling lowly hes got her dont worry girl. The last thing he needs is just some water to cool down the engine and for himself and hell be out of here in like ten mintues 2 hrs late

He walkes into the restaurant hardy rolling his eyes as benson just makes his way behind the counter to help himself theyve had this fight to many times and benson simply wins by not caring hardy cant fire him least he be down one if his last reliable workers. Filling two cups up his body is suddenly on high alert sensing a looming threat. He glances not moving from the machine when he catches it out of the corner of his eye

Its bradley which usually is not an issue but right now hes staring intensely at benson hand gripping the handle of broom handle in his hands spindle fingers white knuckling and shaking slightly benson tilts his head towards him squinting under his brow unsure what has set him so on edge. Its onlt when their eyes meet Bradley like a deer in headlights whole body flushing eyes dancing on bensons form like they are unsure where to land lips stumbling over words not said.

Benson turns towards him eyes him and Bradley blurts your hand. And benson had forgotten about it tbh dark flaky blood at the knuckles with spilt dirty with grease right in the middle benson examines it shorty nefore shrugging and grumbles car troubles before making his way back round counter cups of water in hands and out towards his car and once everything looks good hes pulling out the parking lot and home

Completely unaware that randy is going to go home and in blanket of night end up rutting against his bed to the sight of bensons disheveled sweaty grease stained image pictures those fingers inn his mouth biting down onto the split in benson knuckles forcing him against the bumper of his cars bumper
