Thinking about Ayato being so sleepy and clingy in the morning...

You’re minding your business in the kitchen, yawning into your hand gently and waiting for the water to boil; despite being well aware that Ayato’s staff can easily bring food or drinks to your bedroom, it’s nice to relish in mundane tasks from time to time.

Ayato’s steps are silent, or perhaps, you’re still too sleepy to fully pay attention to what’s happening around you; he wraps his arms around your waist from behind tightly, rubbing his cheek ever so slightly against yours. With his eyes still closed, his lips brush against your cheek, only to place a sweet, delicate kiss; he chuckles in satisfaction, lazy smile taking over his mouth.

Ayato’s warmth makes you sleepy yet again.

That is, until his head finds its way in your neck, nuzzling into you - his sky blue hair tickles your skin softly, his breathing is so, so tender, yet it awakens your goosebumps - Ayato lips trail a line staring at your neck, all the way down to your shoulder, where he places another kiss.

He doesn’t say anything - yet, he has to fully wake up first. It’s no secret Ayato’s not a morning person, but there are mornings where he awakens feeling needy over your affection.

His favorite yukata is almost falling off of his shoulder, but he doesn’t care. His hair is messy and he’ll pester you to brush it later, but he doesn’t care right now. He relishes in the calmness, sun rays making its way into the kitchen, he relishes in having you by your side yet another day. That’s where he wants to be.

When the smell of coffee reaches Ayato’s nose, he whines into your shoulder. That’s also when you finally turn your head to look at his face, causing him to raise his head and open his periwinkle eyes.

He blinks a couple of times before looking into your eyes, “Good morning, beloved.” Ayato says, his morning voice still heavy. Though, he doesn’t wait for your answer - he leans in for his morning kiss, cupping your cheeks.
