Characters: Chan x female reader
Genre/warnings: werewolf au, fantasy, a little fluff, angst, abusive relationship stuff
Word count: 2,728
Summary: Chan caught your attention as soon as your eyes met across the market. Something about him drew you to him, and you knew you were meant to be. However, you were already taken and arranged to be married on your next birthday, so you could never be together.
Previous | Next | Homewrecker Masterlist
Chan had been wanting to see you all week, but between Luhan and Dae coming to visit to see Eunjin, and then her and her mate going to visit Jiung and his pack for a few days, he felt it was best to stay with the pack rather than go out to the market where he could possibly get himself into even more trouble if he were caught -- he did try to change his appearance like his brothers who had been spotted by people in town, but there was still a chance of getting caught. But as soon as the couple had returned safely from their trip, he went straight to the market to go in search of you.
-
You returned every day, half because you wanted to get away from your family and their plans for your marriage, and half because you wanted to see the strange boy that had caught your eye. There was just something about him that made you feel…something. You didn’t know what it was, but you knew it was a good feeling.
To your dismay, nobody had shown up all week. You wandered the booths for hours and hours, but you never saw any sign of any of the strange boys from earlier that week. You felt like you wouldn’t actually ever see them again, but what did you expect with your awful luck?
You’d been at the market all day, and judging from the sun in the sky, it seemed to be about mid-afternoon. You had hardly eaten, so you went up to a stand to grab something to eat. Fishing in the pocket of your dress for money, you felt a presence beside you.
“I’ll take care of this,” the voice said before holding a hand out to the vendor, giving them a bill. You stopped what you were doing and turned to the stranger, coming face to face with a grinning Chan as he looked down at you, “Hello again, _____.”
You almost gasped at how happy you were to see him, and your excitement almost had you tossing your arms around his neck in a hug. Instead, you began to bounce on the balls of your feet, making him laugh.
“You’re here!” you exclaimed as he grabbed a fresh apple from the vendor. “I didn’t think you’d come back!”
You didn’t know, but Chan’s heart was soaring knowing that you were waiting for him. He couldn’t fight the happy rumble that sounded in his chest, but it was too loud and busy for you to hear it, “Were you watching for me?”
“All week,” you admitted shyly, your cheeks turning a light pink that made Chan so fond of you.
‘God, my mate is so cute,’ was all he could manage to think when he looked at you and heard you speak.
“Sorry to have kept you waiting,” he smiled, bowing slightly as he held the apple out for you.
With a giggle, you took it and held it to your chest like it was a precious gift, “It’s probably weird of me to want to see you; I hardly know you.”
“Why do you think I showed up today?”
You cocked your head to the side, “Did you really come here for me?”
He shrugged, “I’m not the one who does the shopping, so I have no other reason to.”
Chan heard your heartbeat pick up, causing another happy growl. He wanted so badly to hold your hand and pull you to him and kiss you breathless, but he had to remind himself that not only would that be too sudden, but you still belonged to someone else.
Someone you didn’t want to belong to.
Chan hadn’t mentioned it to any of the pack because he knew they wouldn’t approve, but he planned to offer to take you away from the life he knew you didn’t want. He wasn’t completely sure about your home life, but he wanted to know everything about you. He was determined to get more information before making a final decision.
But at the moment, his only plan was to get you away from your fiancé before you turned nineteen.
“So, _____, how've you been?” he wondered as the two of you began to walk side-by-side through the market.
You hummed softly as you tried to think of everything that had happened the passed week, “Well…my family has gotten suspicious of me going to market every day. They think I’m meeting with a secret lover, apparently.”
“Ah, so that’s what I am?” Chan joked with a chuckle, making your already pink face turn more red. But then he turned serious, scrutinizing your body. “They haven’t hurt you, though, have they?”
You sighed, subconsciously rubbing your left forearm, “They did something a little…extreme…”
Chan’s eyes widened, and he grabbed your hand and tugged you over to a secluded area, covered by shadows from nearby buildings. He put his hands on your shoulders and looked at you intensely, his brown eyes studying you.
“Did anybody hurt you, _____?” he asked.
You shook your head, “No! Well, I mean, the procedure didn’t feel good but--”
“What happened?” he demanded, and you swore you heard him growl.
Part of you didn’t understand why this stranger seemed to be so protective over you. He only really knew your name, yet he was acting so concerned for you. But on the other hand, you liked the feeling. Even your fiancé never really seemed to act like he cared much about your well-being. You weren’t really sure why he wanted to marry you, anyway.
“His family wanted to make sure I wasn’t sneaking off anywhere,” you explained, holding your forearm out for him to see the small, raised scar on your skin, “so they put a tracker in me. They know where I am no matter what.”
Chan didn’t like this one bit. Not only would it make it harder for him to take you away and protect you, but it was just inhumane! Who in their right mind would put a tracker inside a human just because they were paranoid? Werewolves were some of the most territorial creatures when it came to mates, and even he would never do something like that.
He had half a mind to grow his claws out and tear the tracker out then and there.
“Chan!” a familiar male voice shouted behind him.
Before he could do or say anything about your tracker, he turned to see Hansol walking over to him, and Yeji for some reason following behind him with a sunhat on her head to hide her ears.
“What are you doing here, Sol?” Chan wondered.
“Hansol, right?” you asked, recalling his name.
Hansol smiled, but it seemed a little forced, “Hello again, _____. This is Yeji, my… My, uh…”
“Sister,” Yeji said with a chuckle at Hansol’s sudden lapse of thought. “He’s just a little flustered over Chan.”
The pup really didn’t want to be rude, but he had things to attend to, such as making his mate his instead of some asshole’s who didn’t trust her and treated her like some sort of pet. But it was clear Hansol knew something was up with the youngest of the pack by the way he had looked at him and made a point to interrupt his time with you.
“Sol, why are you here?” Chan repeated, a little more forcefully this time. “And why’d you bring Yeji with you?”
“What, I can’t leave the house?” Yeji asked with a playful smile. “Jihoon’s busy with yardwork anyway, and we all know I’m not doing that. Hansol mentioned coming to the market, so I tagged along.”
“So you just came here for fun?” the younger wolf asked.
"Technically, we have errands,” she explained before listing off, “Soomin asked for some supplies, Jeonghan wanted more of that honey bread since Junhui ate the last of it, Josh needs... What did Joshua want again?”
You were lost on everything they were saying, but you were just glad that Chan had come back for you. Something about him felt…safe. You weren’t sure why since he was just a stranger, but it was comforting anyway. He was still better than your family and fiancé, that was for sure.
As if he could somehow tell you were thinking poorly of him, the devil himself made his way through the crowd with two guards, clearly looking for you. He looked up from the device he was using to track you and locked eyes with yours. He didn’t like seeing you with strange people he didn’t know, especially two men.
You visibly gulped, and it wasn’t only Chan that took notice. Yeji and Hansol followed your gaze while Chan tried to grip your upper arms. You quickly shook him off and stepped through the small crowd around you.
“Hello, Donghae,” you greeted him politely, keeping your eyes on the ground as you knew he was angry with you.
“Don’t be afraid of me, sweetheart,” he cooed, which only made you more afraid of him. “Why don’t you introduce me to your friends?”
As much as you didn’t want to – you wanted to keep them as far away from Donghae as possible – you knew better than to go against an order from your fiancé. You turned around as he took your hand and looped it through his arm as if you two were actually a happy couple. However, walking toward Chan and his friends with Donghae so close, you could feel the anger radiating off of him.
Cautiously, you looked up to see all three of them staring at you. Yeji looked curious, Hansol looked curious, and Chan looked downright angry. You assumed it was because he knew what your fiancé had done to you, but you also didn’t want Donghae knowing you told other people about his treatment toward you.
You tried to hold your head up higher, hearing Donghae’s voice in your head calling you a ‘pathetic, shy girl’ like he had done before, “This is my…fiancé, Kwon Donghae.”
The man beside you gave a smug smile, bowing to your friends to play up the ‘good fiancé’ bit. Politely, Hansol and Yeji bowed back to him. Chan didn’t. Thankfully, your fiancé was too busy being cocky to realize.
“Thank you for keeping my beautiful fiancée company,” Donghae told them, although you could tell clearly that his sincerity was an act.
Hansol didn’t seem to think so, smiling warmly at him, “Of course, we really--”
“However, that will not be necessary,” he continued, his smile dropping. Now, he just looked bored speaking with them, as if they weren’t worth his time – which, in his head, they weren’t. “_____ doesn’t need to be babied, and she doesn’t need friends. I already provide her with everything she needs. If I catch any of you with her again, it won’t be good.”
“Shouldn’t that be _____’s choice?” Chan spoke up sharply, his brown eyes glaring straight at Donghae.
He’d never been talked back to since he was the son of a higher-up in town, so he was visibly shocked by this, “Excuse me?”
“Clearly you aren’t keeping her company, so somebody has to,” the dark-haired boy continued. “Besides, she seems to enjoy having some actual fun.”
You didn’t have to look at Donghae to know his angry gaze was on you now. “Is this true, _____? Do you enjoy hanging out with these people over your loving fiancé?”
“Well, I--”
Your chin was grabbed roughly as he forced you to look at him, and you could’ve sworn you heard someone growl. From your peripherals, you saw Hansol and Yeji place their hands on Chan, who was now shaking from anger.
“Look at me when I’m speaking to you,” Donghae ordered through clenched teeth, his face inches from yours. “Now answer me.”
“N-no…” you lied nervously.
He continued to search your eyes for a moment before he finally let you go and stepped away from you, “If you’re not back to my house in fifteen minutes, you’ll be in big trouble. We need to have a chat.”
With that, he turned and left with his little posse of guards that he’d brought with him. The four of you watched him disappear into the crowd before Chan was grabbing your hand in his, automatically calming you.
“What the hell was that?” Yeji wondered quietly.
“_____,” Chan’s soft but intense voice was what made you look away from where Donghae stalked off to. When you looked at him, he definitely still looked angry, but his features softened when he saw how afraid you looked. “I won’t let him do anything to you.”
You shook your head, already having accepted your fate once the tracker was put in your arm, “Nobody can do anything to stop him. His father practically runs this town, and he--”
“Then I’ll take you away from the town,” Chan promised, a small smile forming on his lips. “I’ll take you somewhere they have no power, and you won’t have to worry about him anymore.”
As much as his promise made your heart flutter, you couldn’t help but wonder why this strange boy you hardly knew was telling you he’d risk his life to get you out of your bad situation, “Why do you want to help me?”
He just shook his head at your question, “That’s not important. I’ll try to come see you again, okay?”
“My house is usually empty during the week,” you told him eagerly – maybe too eagerly. “It’s on the same street as the flower shoppe, and there’s pink flowers out front.”
“Oh, I know where that is!” Yeji spoke up. “Chan, I can bring you.”
Chan smiled widely at the older girl before turning back to you. He knew he should wait a little bit as to lessen the suspicion on you. The last thing he wanted was for Donghae to hurt you some more.
“Two days?” he asked.
You nodded, “Two days.”
-
You made it back to Donghae with time to spare thanks to your running. You were sweaty and out of breath, but you wouldn’t have to face any extra consequences. However, when you went to his room, he was pacing and wasn’t paying any attention to you.
“Donghae?” you asked softly.
“Who was that girl?” he asked you, his voice a mumble as he was deep in thought.
“I…I don’t know.” you told him honestly. “I've never seen her before. Sh-she said her name was Yeji, but...”
“I know she’s not a resident of this town,” he continued, not looking over at you, “and those men you were with also strike me as suspicious. I think those are the werewolves the guards have been dealing with.”
Your eyes widened as your breath caught in your throat. You thought werewolves were just some legend; a scary story. There was no way they were actually real, right? But if Donghae was saying they were…
“…What does that mean?” you asked quietly.
“If there’s a new person being spotted in our town, then they must be imprinting,” Donghae stated, finally standing still in the middle of the room. “They must live nearby if them and their mates are coming to my town.”
He spat out the word ‘mates’, and something about it didn’t make you feel good.
“Not to disrespect you, Donghae,” you began, which made him give you a sharp look. You gulped, “but…what has led you to believe they’re a pack of werewolves? I didn’t even think they existed...”
“Stupid girl, weren’t you listening?” he groaned. “Of course they exist! And our town has been dealing with them for a while now. We had caught one and its disgusting mate, but they got away. Now, this new girl shows up with two suspicious men but they don’t actually have residence here? This Yeji is one of their mates, and the pack must be nearby.”
“What if they’re just out of town?”
“_____, I know a werewolf when I see one!” he roared. “And do you know anything about werewolves, you stupid girl? Hmm?”
You didn’t have an answer for that.
“Exactly,” he stated before calling out for guards. Two of them showed up immediately. “Send a team to the surrounding forest tonight. I’m afraid we have a werewolf infestation.”

Episode 6
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/db5e0a420bd3b86b0ee65e13374ee063/2ba03efcf96b992e-39/s540x810/b0e474452aaabc49b9abfdbeba85728930028217.jpg)
Huannie remembered the day that Suho and Xuimin came barging into NCT's dorm and dragged her over to Exo's practice room, trying to give her the news lightly so she wouldn't go off and do something stupid. The news that the Chinese members of Exo were leaving the group and to say Huannie was already riled up was an understatement. It was almost as if her day had hit rock bottom, after a leak of information about NCT having a comeback that morning and this she wondered if things would get any worse.
"Why did none of you tell me?" She shouted at OT12, not caring who heard or misunderstood whatever she was saying. "I could have helped!" She was angry, her and Luhan came to Korea together afterall, the fact that the boy didn't mention the disgusting mistreatment was a blow to the stomach.
"Ai, there's nothing we haven't tried already, don't be irrational like this." Luhan mumbled. "There's no point."
"No point? Why did I have to find out from Dispatch before you told me Oppa! There are things you all can do but you're all scared of doing it!"
"We can't, it's in our contract-"
"I've heard alot about these slave contracts that you lot got yourself into, doesn't mean there aren't other things you can do to stop it."
Luhan dropped his head into his hands, the woman watching as his band mates left the two to talk whilst the man was shaking in emotions. She felt useless.
"So what all the Exo-M members are leaving? What does that solve? Honestly and none of you told me-" She trailed off noticing the copy of a contract on the floor next to him, out of curiosity she picked it up reading a clause that she guessed the lawyer they were all working with had highlighted. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"
SM had made it final in their contract that those who sue to nullify their contracts would have to pay a disgusting amount of money to terminate said contract, the peices were clicking together and Huannie couldn't stop but to think that there must be a way out of this for him.
"You- Pack your bags and wait for me here."
--
As Huannie sat in her car debating how she would do her plan, the plan of which required a certain amount of stupidity and bravery, ultimately deciding it was time to move on with it and get it done.
"Yoboseyo?"
"Ne, Hi Jagi," The phone connected quicker than she had hoped, she was sure that if it had rang a few more tones that she would have hung up and pushed her plan into the trash. "Can you talk?"
She heard Jinyoung fight against what she assumed to be his group members and shut behind him, there was a nervous sigh before she heard him again.
"What happened Angel?"
She was speechless for a moment, he had suspected something was wrong when Jaehyun told him she got dragged out the dorm by Suho, Huannie took a deep breath.
"I think I have to go back China for a while." It sounded like the mans breath hitched, both didn't want to show that they were crying, Jinyoung mainly because he was confused and Huannie because she thought it would hurt less.
"Why? Everything that you need is here, we just got you back and you're just going to leave?" He sounded an inbetween of being angry and ready to cry, she hit her head aginst the headrest hearing his shaky breaths.
"Jinyoungie, Luhan's leaving SM- We only had eachother as family, I can't just let him go alone. Go back to nothing."
Silence.
"I can't just let him go back to Beijing when he has no one to support him there- I have to do this for my own piece of mind."
"Yeah, you're going to go running to Beijing because you're that type of person." He sighed, although it sounded like her understood Huannie knew that there was alot more to that sentence than intended. "But you're going to throw everything away, did you even think of that when you went running?"
"I know exactly what happens when I get on that plane Jinyoung, even if it wasn't Luhan I would do it for anyone else-"
"You're going to throw away the life that we've made? What about your members? What do I tell them Ai-Huan- I can't just let you go like this!" Jinyoung was practically screaming down the phone, he hoped that if he begged and pleaded that she wouldn't throw away her contract with SM down the drain and stay with him.
"Jinyoung, it's not a forever thing, it won't be long till i'm back." Her head was now dropped on the steering wheel, she didn't care if someone recognised her at this point, her day was officially the worst.
"No, Ai-Huan you're the only girl that I opened up to, the only one I allowed myself to get close to and now that girl is running away for however long because another guy needs her?"
Both of them were crying, they'd agreed to carry on this fake relationship regardless of the show, but hadn't thought of how much the cameras would be invading of their lives, everyone was about to know of the ins and out of a long distance relationship and they weren't sure if it was worth it in the end anymore.
"You don't understand, I'm the only one his has Jinyoung."
And with that the man hung up on her making her throw her phone on the backseat, the feeling was cold inside her, it felt like concrete weighing down her shoulders. It was an unexpected feeling, one that felt like heartbreak. One day feeling ontop of the world with him and the next day the world being cut down. But this was a decision she would make for herself and her brother, what type of person would she be if she didn't help the man who dhe had called her older brother since they met 13 years ago? She needed to find Bao and Kun.

Hell and Back - Chapter 3: Devision (Trial 1)
Chapter warnings: none
Word count: 1325
-----
Just as she pressed the start button, everyone's Current Trial tabs were updated. Rather than the blank, boring buttons from before, there was a new configuration. There was a box for the trial's title and details, along with a timer that was set at 0:00. Next to the timer, there was a box that read 'Restricted: Kyungsoo'.
"So does that mean he can't use his powers?" Chanyeol asked, confusedly looking over at the man who had been mentioned. Shrugging, he held his hand out over the ground, attempting to move anything. As the look on his face fell from nonchalant curiosity to awe, he said,
"Oh- I actually can't."
"How would they even do that?" Kris asked skeptically. "You're messing with us."
"I'm serious!"
"Guys, knock it off-" Suho reprimanded them. "Look at the trial." The large script at the top of the page were neat white letters reading 'Trial 1: Gather your items'. Underneath, the description provided a bit more detail. Everyone will be required to carry one item into future trials with them. It may be used at any time, and does not have any restrictions other than your ability to carry it. It has no requirements regarding the law; see the rules and gameplay section for more information on disqualification by arrest. The trial will be completed when everyone is holding their item within their right hand.
"That seems simple enough." Chen commented. "Do we want to all go together, or just go separately and come back?"
"Are there any rules on splitting up?" Luhan asked, clicking into the corresponding tab to check. After the silence of a few people reading, they finally concluded that it was okay to split up.
"Alright then, we meet back here in an hour?" Suho offered.
"Wait, shouldn't we kinda discuss what sort of items we want?" Baekhyun cut in.
"What does it matter?" Lay argued. "We should all just bring whatever. Plus, if we're just doing these in the real world, we'll have access to whatever we want."
"In that case, we should focus on things that may be useful, but also easy to carry around. It said we had to keep it with us until we use it during the trials." Kyungsoo agreed. "We don't want to screw ourselves up on trial 1."
"This doesn't even seem that hard." Tao said nonchalantly. "We shouldn't overthink these. If the rest of the trials go like this, we'll have our band in no time." Strolling towards the door, he finished by saying, "Meet back in an hour, yeah?" And exited. Sighing, Y/N watched as the rest of the boys muttered with each other and began leaving as well. Surprisingly, Kai was the last one left, approaching her as the area emptied out.
"Hey. So what are you thinking?"
"About the item?" She asked, confused.
"I mean, yeah, but... just in general." She shrugged, not really knowing what to say.
"It seems... too easy, you know? I'm not sure how many people are participating in the trials, but the ability to gain any wish? That has to come at a cost."
"I agree, but let's not look a gift horse in the mouth." He consoled her. "This is just the first 1%, right? So we may as well enjoy it while it's easy. Plus, the faster we get through these, the sooner we get the wish, right?" She agreed as he continued, "Do you want to go get our items together? I still kinda need help picking..." Laughing, she gladly accepted, walking through the door as he held it open.
They went to Kai's dorm room, passing Sehun on the way. He offered to come with them, but Kai waved him off, saying that he should get back and let the others know where they were. Walking in, they started digging through items that could be helpful, yet not bulky. Opening a kitchen drawer, Y/N pulled out a Swiss army knife, showing it to him.
"This seems like it could work." She offered. Glancing up, he nodded in agreement. "Definitely. That means we just need to find another useful thing that we may want to have on hand." They both offered a few other items, before Kai had an idea.
"Oh, what if we grabbed, like... a bottle of Tylenol or something?"
"Hmm?" She seemed confused. "That's a bit strange-"
"Yeah, but if someone gets hurt or something it could make things a lot easier for us. Plus, we don't know if we'll be able to get to medication all the time." So... they were already planning for people to get hurt. She didn't like the direction it was going in, but she couldn't argue that it was a reasonable idea. Finally settled on their items, they headed back to the group.
Once everyone was back together, they surveyed the items before they completed the trial. Kai had the Tylenol and Y/N had the pocket knife, but the rest of the group was a pretty wide spread. Suho had a calculator, of all things. Sehun had one of those cliché survival cables, Kyungsoo dietary supplements (along the lines of Kai's thinking), and Xiumin brought another pocket-knife-like implement.
"Baekhyun, what are you holding?" Suho asked suspiciously as he held it by his side. Looking over sheepishly, he held up a fuzzy, gray mass. Looking closer, she realized that it was the form of a tiny dog.
"Seriously? A stuffed animal?" Kris asked.
"I like it!" He objected. "And it's easy to carry around, so what do you care? What did you bring that's so great?" Smiling with a weird glint in his eye, he head up a strange looking set of red bars with strings coming off the ends.
"Are those fireworks?" Suho asked incredulously.
"Yep." The room broke out into chatter, mostly just confused and reprimanding interjections. He blew them off, stating, "Hey, it could come in handy."
"Yeah, if you want to blow our faces off." Kyungsoo muttered under his breath, earning an annoyed glare. "Lay, what do you have?" Grinning almost as evilly as Kai, he pulled a plastic bag full of some white powder out of his pocket. Staring in horror, Y/N asked,
"Is that cocaine?"
"What?" He asked, laughing. "They said it could be anything we wanted, even if it was illegal!"
"Lay!" A few voices shouted at once.
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding!" He said, putting his hands up defensively. "It's salt." Breathing in relief, Suho looked closely at it just to be sure. It begged the question- why had he brought salt? Did he really do it just to mess with them? Regardless, they didn't want to bother with trying to work through Lay's reasoning.
Finishing up, Chen brought a flashlight, Sehun brought a battery pack for a phone charger, Chanyeol brought a pack of pens, Luhan brought a gun of all things. (They weren't sure where he had gotten it, or why he felt like he needed it, but he nonetheless possessed it). Finally, Tao had a watch. He didn't explain at all why he felt like he needed it, but he was adamant about having it.
Realizing that, regardless of what the others thought, everyone had picked their items, Suho gave the okay for everyone to pick them up, looking at the screens with the other hand. As they waited, nothing happened. Confused, Y/N looked at the challenge.
"Shouldn't it be complete? All we need to do is hold our items in our right hands, right?"
"Oh, my bad." Baekhyun said, moving his item from his left hand to his right. It must not have been his dominant hand. As soon as he did this, the trial bar turned green, reading, Trial 1: Complete.
"That seemed easy enough." Y/N commented as the lettering disappeared, changing back to the initial start screen for the next challenge. "Let's hope it stays that way."

The newscaster is explaining in great detail what the newest proposal from the President means without a shred of shock or sympathy painting his stoic expression. All breeding of prey hybrids were to cease immediately. The government had been pushing more and more against hybrids, using claims of massive overpopulation and crime rates to scare the human community. After years of debating over what to do, they’d apparently settled on announcing that prey hybrids were considered unnecessary.
You suppose it makes a twisted sort of sense. Wolves, bears, and big cats make up the bulk of the military and police forces. Even the domestic dog and cat breeds would be safe, as most of the people in power had one as a companion. Rabbits would most likely continue to be bred for black markets, considering that they were used for exactly what you would think they were, poor bunnies. However, deer and rodents, most birds and even more like them would die out.
You shut the massive tv off and throw the remote across the elaborately decorated room, shivering in both anger and fear because unfortunately for you and your family, you were prey.
Deer hybrids were bred for their gentle grace and beauty, making them ideal as dancers and other various forms of entertainment roles such as modeling or acting. Your own family had been with your owner’s for several generations, bred and trained exclusively for ballet. Hybrids were never allowed to become principals - due to the damage that would have on the human ego - but Madame’s family had still produced the finest soloists in history. You were soon to follow in your parent’s footsteps, as Madame had been hinting that your days as one of the coryphées were nearly over.
You knew that you had it better than many hybrids. Your owner and your mother had grown up side by side and Madame spoiled her, even going so far as to buy your father from his owner once the two had fallen in love. Such generosity was unheard of for their kind, as does were usually mated with bucks of good breeding for staggering amounts of money regardless of feelings. Lucky for your mother she had fallen for someone that came from decent enough stock for the elite snobs to overlook, and he was an exceptional dancer. The two were as madly in love as ever and were the best of parents to you and your brother. You were always grateful that you knew when the time came Madame would do no less for you. However, it didn’t matter now, as you were apparently doomed to remain unmated and childless under the new law. Madame’s legacy of producing the finest dancers in the country would be no more.
You sigh morosely and walk to the kitchen to finish preparing your simple meal. Your parents and Madame were still at the studio and you had told the cook that you would be fine on your own. You weren’t sure where your brother was, but Luhan had been disappearing quite a lot recently, so you weren’t too concerned. Since it was only you eating you were only going to make something small. You weren’t that hungry anyway, considering how upset you were, so you settled on a tray of fruits and veggies. You couldn’t cook, but you could handle taking things from containers and placing them on a tray, at least.
As you nibbled on some veggie sticks you contemplated your new fate. Your mother had always told you that you had a romantic soul, and you’d never bothered to argue because you knew it was true. You had grown up surrounded by dancing and music that were tales of grand love and had your own parent's still strong relationship to back it all up. You had always planned on having a loving family just like them and had wondered what your future mate would be like. No doubt they would be a deer hybrid like you, perhaps even another dancer. Then you could dance together in the living room like Mama and Papa did all the time.
Except all of your daydreams of love and happiness were floating away like wisps in the wind. No mate. No fawns of your own. Just a bleak future of dancing until your body fails you and you become worthless. Worthless to Madame and worthless to the world.
You had been so lost in your melancholy thoughts that you hadn’t heard anyone come home until suddenly you heard Madame screaming for you, your parent's voices soon doing the same. You get up and follow the sounds into the living room where the three of them are frantically grabbing suitcases from the hall closet. All of them look harried and wild-eyed, your father’s face stony while both Mama and Madame were crying.
Mama saw you first, crying out as she rushed to you and held you in a crushing grip. “Oh, my baby! You’re okay.”
“What’s going on?” You ask as you awkwardly pat Mama’s back.
Papa was nearly growling, a strange sound that you’d never heard him make before. “It’s your brother. They took him. They took my damn boy.”
“I’ll do everything to get him back, I promise you.” Madame sniffled, bringing a lacy handkerchief to her eyes before she gazed at you with heartbreak in her eyes.
“They aren’t just banning breeding of prey hybrids, they are eliminating them. I’ve been hearing rumors for weeks about hybrids going missing, but I never would have suspected this.” Tears continue to fall down Madame’s face as she pulls your sobbing mother into her arms.
“Hybrids are being taken to a military facility where they are either killed outright or used in whatever sick way they want to. A peacock hybrid came to me a little while ago. He and Luhan were picked up earlier today. Luhan helped him escape but wasn’t able to get away himself. He told the peacock to come straight here and warn us that they know about the rest of you and are coming for you next. We need to get you away.”
“Away? We can’t just leave Luhan!” You push away the shock and disgust over what's happening in favor of concern for your brother.
“There’s nothing you can do. I, however, still have plenty of connections and money. I will abuse them all to get my sweet Lulu out of there. Meanwhile, I still have Pépère’s cabin that I never use. I don’t even think it’s listed anywhere, so there should be no way for anyone to find you. It’s a bit rustic, but I have faith in you, my dears. I will do all I can and come for you when it’s safe,” Madame pushes Mama and Papa towards the stairs as you follow behind.
“Go and pack, ma bichette. Only one suitcase, so take your most treasured and essential items. We must leave as quickly as possible.” She pushes you up the stairs as well, patting your cheek lightly before heading towards the kitchen. “I will put together some food. Goodness, I don’t even know what sort of things we have in the pantry.”
Disbelief and horror have you shaking as you walk to your room and find a single suitcase waiting for you on your bed. You take in the elaborately decorated room, realizing that it might be the last time you ever saw it. Madame had been so thrilled when they’d learned your mother was having a girl and it showed in the room that was fit for a princess. Or a ballerina, of course.
Your canopied bed was massive and covered in ruffled pink and gold silk. The color scheme continued throughout the entire room - from the pink and gold vanity covered in products to the lush carpets on the marble floor. One of your walls even had a full mirror and barre so you could practice in privacy. There were trophies and ribbons from your various competitions, signed posters from shows you’ve seen, and pictures of friends and family everywhere. You’ve been in this room since the day you were born and now you had to fit a lifetime of memories into a single suitcase.
Tears fell as you slowly pack your suitcase. You wept for your family. For your poor brother who hopefully wasn’t suffering too much. For Mama and Papa. For Madame. For the little girl that had grown up in this room whose dreams and hopes for her future were dead.

-
Luhan chuckled. "Okay, let's go! I'll be there to make sure it doesn't hit anything important~"
"Hyung..." Kyungsoo groaned.
But Luhan paid him no heed, already walking over to you and bowing a small smile.
"I'm Luhan, Kyungsoo's older pack brother. I hear that you are the sweet soul that made us that heavenly food a few days back." The handsome face and honey words caused your face to heat up.
"N-nice to meet you, Luhan-ssi. I am ___." You introduced yourself, after which Yijie giggled something in the foreign language, making Luhan nod.
"Aaah. Well, ___, if you'd be so kind and come out to the backyard, I'm pretty sure Kyungsoo is prepared to show you what he can do." He showed you the way, walking out of the back door that led into a beautiful little clearing surrounded by a ring of tall trees. Kyungsoo was already there, eyeing two of them with an attractive scowl, turning to you when he heard the door shut. He sighed, walking over to the two of you.
"Could you maybe...stay inside?" His voice sounded tired, still in the mode when he didn't want to do it.
"I don't want to hurt you."
Part of you was quite hurt that he didn't want you there, but you understood the concern. You gave a stubborn shake of your head, and you said something that rang very true even though you didn't realize it until you said it. "You won't. I trust you."
Kyungsoo froze, the tension on his face melting off. When you went naturally to reach for his arm, he slipped your fingers together with a smile that almost looked... proud? "Alright... But please stay behind Luhan hyung?"
At the crook of your eyebrow, he pointed to the smiling blond. "Telekinetic. Just in case he loses his grip," Luhan joked. "Not that he does that really. I'm mostly here to watch."
"Kyungsoo hyung is about to battle a tree again!" A voice cried out inside, accompanied by many other yells of delight, as more wolves ran out of the house. A tall werewolf with a mate in tow, a man whose smile faintly reminded you of a cat's, gripping the hand of a curious looking woman, the wolf Minseok with your old friend Haneul- all these piled out of the house with wide eyes and curious glances at the strongest wolf of the pack, groaning and covering his eyes.
"Really? Didn't you say Haerin had a fever and couldn't get out of bed?" Kyungsoo asked the black-haired wolf and his cute mate who blushed guiltily.
"Aww, come on, she never saw you do this!"
"Jongdae..."
"No, really, look! She is sick! I have to hold her up!" Jongdae argued, lifting his little mate up in his arms as if she was a bag of feathers.
"This is going to be the death of me..." Kyungsoo groaned, and you squeezed his hand in comfort, smiling at him.
"Oh! Is this who you're showing off for, Kyung-ah? Hi~" The dark-haired man's mate waved for the both of them, smiling. "Haerin and Jongdae," she introduced quickly.
You bowed, then turned to the tall man and his mate to bow as well. "Hello, everyone. I'm ___."
"Oh God, you cooked the food!"
Kyungsoo squeezed your hand as you instantly became flustered. "Ah... y-yes."
"Okay, okay. Let's just get this done then we'll talk." Kyungsoo sighed before releasing your hand. He rolled the short sleeves of his t-shirt up over his shoulder as he walked towards Luhan.
"Come here, ___," Haneul called with a smile.
With a smile, you walked towards your old friend, who you hugged tightly, trying to keep your eyes off the horrible scar on her neck. You wondered how it got there, but you didn't have the guts to ask her about it. With the almost constant frown that her mate sported, you knew it wasn't anything nice, and you wouldn't want to bring the memories back.
Haneul noticed Minseok's stare and she cupped his cheek, stroking the skin under his eye comfortingly. The scowl lessened on his face and he nuzzled back into her hand, a small purr breaking out of his chest.
You looked away at the sign of affection with a small smile. Instead, you turned your gaze to Kyungsoo, who was looking up at the giant tree. How would he ever dream of tearing something like that down?
The answer came in very quickly.
Kyungsoo wrapped his arms around the tree trunk and he heaved. Was it only your imagination that you heard something ancient groan?
Your eyes went round, and as if everyone was watching for your reaction, there was a round of snickers. But you couldn't even tear your gaze from the way Kyungsoo's knees bent for more leverage before he hauled upwards again. The loud creak got louder, and your hand slapped over your mouth when you saw the roots begin to pop up from the ground.
It was quiet around you, admiring the spectacle.
You heard a loud growl coming from the man and with one last pull, the tree was ripped out of the ground by the roots, held up only by Kyungsoo's sheer strength. A gasp of astonishment escaped your mouth, as Kyungsoo handled the tree, huffing. His muscles bulged under the weight of the wooden giant. With one last groan, Kyungsoo turned the tree sideways and dropped it on the ground, the earth shaking at the sudden weight dropped down on it. You couldn't help the sudden urge to applause at the spectacle, because you had never seen anything like that before. Kyungsoo's amber eyes snapped up at you and you felt the need to avert your glance from the way he looked at you so passionately, and of the fact that the bark ripped up his shirt, revealing his muscular, slightly reddened chest.
You wanted to break his gaze, but you couldn't, and the heat on your face was spreading down to your neck. Thankfully, Jongdae started clapping as well, and Haerin straightened herself on her feet before bounding over to you, which effectively distracted you from Kyungsoo's burning stare.
"Alright. Finish that up so we can eat," the tall man said before leading his mate back inside. You gave a feeble wave back in response to her enthusiastic one.
"What'd you think, __?" Jongdae asked. "Pretty impressive, huh?"
"It really wa-!" You cut yourself off when you heard an earthshattering punch split the thick trunk in half. Kyungsoo worked quickly, effectively, ripping up the pieces until they were small enough to be able to carry in a person's arms.
"Our Kyungie is like that~" Jongdae sang towards the sulking male, which made his fists clench tighter.
"He hates being called anything remotely cute."
"Because he is a manly man." Luhan joined in on the teasing, flexing his muscles teasingly.
"Almost as manly as you, hyung."
"Oi, what's that supposed to mean?"
"Meaning I'm manlier," Kyungsoo's voice joked as he came up to the group with a set of wood in his arms.
He handed them off to Luhan with a chuckle at the older man's scowl. "Just joking, hyung. I'll finish off the rest later. I'm gonna clean myself up before dinner."
"I don't know. I think this look might work for you, Kyungie," Jongdae joked.
You gave him an once-over. His shirt was still ripped, the red skin on his chest looking like it definitely scraped against wood. His sleeves were still rolled up, exposing the toned muscles of his arms. His hands looked a bit scuffed up, too.
"You gonna have Yixing hyung take a look at those?" Jongdae asked, pointing to his minor cuts.
Kyungsoo looked down, shaking his head even as he studied his hands. "No, I'll be fine. They'll heal up in a second. You okay?" He gestured towards you.
"O-of course I am," you said with a nod. "That was amazing."
Kyungsoo gave a small smile. "Thanks..."
"It really isn't much in comparison with Luhan's or Jongdae's powers though." Kyungsoo said with a shrug and you turned over to the black-haired man for an explanation.
"I control lightning." Jongdae cleared up and your heart clenched. You were terrified of lightning ever since you were little and one smacked into your home, burning it down. Jongdae must've seen the shift in your face because he smirked, his hands leaving his mate in favor of gathering up some clouds.
"No, no, I don't need a demonstration, please." You yelped quickly, your body on instinct jumping over to Kyungsoo.
Right above you, forked lightning sliced the sky.
Something tightened in your chest - fear, as it was. Kyungsoo's arm secured around your waist and dragged you closer to his body. The slight squeeze of his arm was strangely comforting. "Jongdae."
"Oh! Sorry!" Jongdae's hand curled into a fist, and the clouds dissipated from the darkening sky, with the lightning fading just as quickly. "___! I didn't realize-"
His mate cut him off with a sigh. "He's sorry, ___. We'll go ahead and leave now so you guys can get ready for dinner."
You could hear their retreat, but your face was still pressed into the warmth of Kyungsoo's shoulder. There was a feminine clearing of a throat.
"We'll see you inside, ___. Find me if you need anything."
That had to be Haneul. Kyungsoo's grip wasn't easing up, even as Luhan chuckled and headed off with his singsong voice saying something like, "Go get cleaned up, Kyungie~"
Your hands were fisted in what was left of Kyungsoo's shirt, and even though everyone left, you were reluctant to leave his embrace.
Lightning was not a friend to you, no matter how nice Jongdae seemed (or how competent he was at wielding it).
"___? It's okay. It's gone."
You sniffled.
"You want me to bring you inside?"
You only shook your head, reluctantly lifting it up to look at him.
"It's okay...sorry that I reacted that way..." Kyungsoo shook his head, his hands still gripping your sides in comfort.
"It's nothing, ___. Jongdae is sometimes over the top, and he doesn't know when to stop."
"No, he had no idea...it's really okay, I just...I'm not fond of lightning." you shortly explained, moving away from Kyungsoo's embrace.
"You should get changed..."
Kyungsoo's smile looked almost apologetic. "Oh. Right, sorry. You wanna come in and wait with Yijie? Or maybe Haneul and Haerin?"
"I'll... just go in and see what they're doing while you change."
He nodded, leading you into the house and into the living room. Where Haneul and Haerin were speaking on the couch and Bom was sitting with her tall, blond mate.
"Oh, __! Here, sit with us." Haneul patted the space between her and Haerin. "We'll keep you company until Kyungsoo's done."
You glanced at Kyungsoo's smiling face before taking the offer, watching as he retreated upstairs.
You eased between the two mates, not being able to help yourself and watch the couple interact. It seemed that they were in some sort of argument, all heated stares and hushed hisses. It was funny though, because even if their voices were hostile, they still couldn't keep their hands off each other, Kris's large hand squeezing Bom's thigh and Bom holding his arm.
"So, ___, how do you like this home?" Haerin asked you sweetly, taking your concentration from the angry couple.
"It’s really, really beautiful. I never knew the woods could offer such a pretty home." You answered truthfully, fascinated by the sheer look of innocence the girl possessed. With eyes wide and lips slightly parted, she looked like an angel.
"But I imagine it has to be hard, so many people living together." Haneul scoffed.
"It's not the amount that is hard- it's the fact that more than half of the occupants have supernatural hearing. Or can be supernaturally loud." You eyebrows rose.
"Loud? Loud in what?"
Haneul's eyebrows rose, and Haerin giggled.
"In everything," the tall man said, jumping in to the conversation. Apparently they were done arguing.
Haneul's eyes rolled. "You see what I mean?"
"Hi. I don't believe we've been properly introduced. I'm Kris."
"Hello, Kris-sshi," you greeted with a bob of your head.
From his lap, the woman waved. "I'm Bom."
"Ahh, hello..."
"You'll be able to meet everyone else later on, at dinner," Haerin said happily. "Jimin-unni and Chanyeol-oppa. And Soomi-unni..."
"Will Bora-unni be there as well?" Haerin looked at Haneul, who wasn't quite sure.
"I don't know, Haerin. She might be there with Tao, but she still is a little uncomfortable around the others."
"Why is she uncomfortable around others?" The small circle of people fell quiet, until Kris spoke up.
"She has a...dark past with wolves." Bom nodded.
"I heard she owned quite a few pelts of them at home." The alpha's mate replied snarkly and Kris growled, squeezing her thigh a bit tighter.
She scowled at him. "Ow."
"Stop," Kris hissed, his tone authoritative. Still, he seemed quite relieved that Bom listened, her lips pursing shut. He turned back to you with a brief peck to her cheek. "She's Tao's mate. They're both having a harder time to adjust. Tao himself has just recently joined us."
You nodded. "Oh... I see..."
You weren't sure if you were quite ready to get in the middle of such a complicated family affair, but maybe if Kyungsoo was there...
"But all others are just fine." Haerin smiled sweetly at you, trying to calm your nerves.
"They're all very excited to meet you, ___. The food you made was delicious." Kris told you gently, his large palm rubbing the place he pinched moments ago in apology.
"Speaking about food, I'm starving." Haneul groaned, leaning back against the couch.
"We can all hear that, love." Minseok came in from behind, rubbing at her stomach teasingly and making her yelp.
"Minseok..." she greeted, her voice full of loving warmth. She leaned up and kissed her mate with a smile.
You looked away from their show of affection, but then Jongdae was coming up against the back of the couch, dropping a kiss on an unsuspecting Haerin's forehead. You shot up out of your seat with an awkward squeak. There were way too many couple vibes in the area, and you were only one person caught in the middle of it.
You were backing up to retreat into the kitchen when you felt your back smack against a solid warmth. Strong hands grasped your waist, steadying you, and you yelped while flipping around to face the person.
"K-Kyungsoo!"
"Hey, you okay?"
You'd never been gladder to meet those amber eyes.
"Sorry, ___-ah. Were we making you feel awkward there?" Jongdae slid into the seat you'd vacated, his arm winding around Haerin.
You shook your head. "Um... n-no, that's okay. It's uhh-" You cleared your throat. "No, I'm fine."
Kyungsoo's hands remained at their perch, their weight comforting. At least his presence made you feel a little less out of place. Even though the rest of the room's occupants were mated couples and the two of you clearly weren't. Your face heated at the very thought.
As if. You as Kyungsoo's mate.
You couldn't help but to continue with that thought. Would he be as affectionate as the others? Would he come up behind you and kiss you in surprise?
Would he make you supernaturally loud and make half of the occupants regret they own supernatural hearing?
His fingers tightened against your side and you squeaked, breaking out of your thoughts.
"I know, sometimes they can be unbearable." Kyungsoo grinned at you, putting you at ease. You smiled up at him, both of you ignoring the hurt 'hey' from the couple circle.
"How is your...chest?" Kyungsoo snickered at your choice of words, but he shook his head before you were able to be embarrassed about it.
"Much better, now that you voiced your concern about it."
"Oh, and WE'RE unbearable," someone coughed from the couch.
Kyungsoo glared at Jongdae, who was just staring wide-eyed back. You hid your face against his shoulder.
"Come on, ___. I'll show you around the house while we wait for dinner."
"Oh, make sure to show her your room, Kyung-ah~" You were surprised to hear Minseok's voice join the teasing.
Then it was Kris. "The balcony has a pretty nice view too!"
"Just ignore us unbearable couples, of course~" Jongdae called as the two of you headed up the stairs.
Kyungsoo just sighed, urging you up ahead of him and comforting you with a pat to your side. "Ignore it," he encouraged good-naturedly.
"They always do this." He comforted you, steering you to the right.
"Do what?" You asked, looking around the long hall. Along the walls, many pictures were hung with basically the same people- the pack.
"Is that you?" You asked, stifling a small giggle at a black and white photo of an unsmiling man in a vest and a shirt, holding a rifle by his side. The features of the face were identic to the now even more youthfully looking Kyungsoo.
"Yes. That is from my human years." Kyungsoo explained with a monotone, careful voice. You turned to look at him and his eyes turned cold.
"H-human years?"
"All of my brothers were born a wolf, their fathers were wolves as well, along with the fathers of their fathers." You didn't quite like where this was going.
"Kyung-"
"Fifty years ago, I was out on a hunt where I was bitten. And two weeks after that, on a full moon..."
A shudder wracked his body, and reflexively you reached for him, setting a hand on his arm.
"...Well, we'll just say it wasn't the best couple of years of my life." He tried a smile, but it was empty.
"Did... you have family?" You winced at the first question you managed to voice. Way to go, ___. You were always so good at hitting the wrong things first.
He smiled. "Like a wife and children?"
You gave a reluctant nod.
"No," he said, shaking his head. For some reason, you were relieved. "There was a woman in my life though..."
"Oh..."
"What happened to her?"
Kyungsoo walked you to the door on the farthest end of the hall, opening the door to a nighttime breeze. You shivered, but then Kyungsoo was draping his own sweater over your shoulders and leading you out to the balcony they had mentioned.
"She married a nice man and had children. Passed with old age."
"Y-you never saw her again?"
"She never saw me again," he amended, to which you just frowned.
You honestly didn't know what to say to that, and so with the quiet "ah" you looked out into the outstretching forest, the long dark branches looking like arms.
"Has anyone else turned like you?" You asked, looking at him to make sure you haven't crossed some sort of line.
"Tao." Kyungsoo nodded, coming up next to you and leaning against the railing.
"It's one of the reasons he didn't want to join us at first."
"And why did he?"
"Well, how he explains it that he felt that his pack needed him and so he came. I also think it has something to do with the finding of his mate, which pulled him to us, and also the need to finally find someone you can belong to."
"Do you have anyone like that?" Your question hitched in your throat and you almost regretted it- his answer might break your heart.
Kyungsoo smiled, shaking his head as he grabbed your hand.
"I think I've found someone like that. Come on, you're freezing."
Your head hung low as you followed him back into the house. He shut the door behind the two of you, and you sighed as you handed him his sweater.
Why it affected you the way it did, you weren't sure. Especially considering that you'd barely known this man. But hearing about him, about his past life - with parts of it still shrouded in mystery... it was a bit disappointing to hear that he had someone else. That someone - someone he could love and treasure despite the loss in his past - couldn't have been you.
"Would you like to see any other part of the house?"
He interrupted the train of thought, scrambling the confusing feelings.
You smiled at him, maybe a bit too brightly for it to be genuine.
"Only if there is something more interesting that you'd like to show me." You told him and Kyungsoo thought about it for a while before nodding and telling you to head down the hallway while he locked the balcony door.
You did as he told you, and you twirled right into a very dangerously looking woman glaring down on you.
"Who is she, Kyungsoo?"
Your heart thudded against your ribcage at the too-calm, almost grating quality of her voice. As if Kyungsoo sensed your panic, he rounded the corner and pressed himself securely against your back. You attempted a bow at the woman.
"Hello... I'm ___."
She raised an eyebrow. "From the capital? The cook?"
You shook your head. "Ah, n-no, not really a cook! I just..."
She frowned, but the concentration on her face was almost... soft. "You cook well."
All you could manage was a flushed nod. "Th-thank you."
Kyungsoo patted your shoulders gently. "___, this is..." He gestured to the woman with one hand, waiting for her to fill in the rest.
"Bora," the woman finished simply.
You figured, with the stoic, hard stance and the emotionless face, but you still bowed nevertheless.
Awkward silence filled the air and after a few more excruciating seconds, Bora cleared her throat.
"Well then, I must be on my way...I have to...check the perimeters. Yes." You almost felt sorry for the woman, but you didn't let it show on your face. Both of you nodded.
"Don't wander off too far, Bora. Dinner will be served soon." Kyungsoo told her gently and she nodded at the two of you before moving out. When she turned at the corner and walked down the stairs, Kyungsoo sighed.
"Bora has it...hard. She was raised in a coldblooded and military family and she isn't really used to show emotions. Well, positive ones at least." Kyungsoo chuckled a bit.
"But it's becoming better and better. You should've seen her the first week she came here."
You couldn't quite imagine. And from the stubborn streak you sensed from her, you kind of found it hard to believe she was very compliant about being here at first. Leader of the wolf guard in a home full of extraordinarily powerful wolves? Yeah, you couldn't imagine that being peaceful.
You were about to ask Kyungsoo where he was taking you as you walked further down the hall when a tall, dark-haired man came out of his room, huffing in frustration.
"Ahh, Kyungsoo ge."
Kyungsoo nodded his acknowledgment before pointing towards the stairs. "Perimeter check."
The taller man sighed before nodding gratefully. "Ahh, hello."
You returned his bow. "Hello."
"Tao, this is ___." Kyungsoo introduced the two of you and the tall man smiled. Immediately, the assassin-like features melted and in their stead was a sweet man.
"Ah, the girl who cooked us food the last time." You couldn't help the small laugh- will you be remembered as the cook from now on?
"Yup, that's me." You confirmed with a chuckle.
"It was really delicious. You should stay here and cook for us forever."
You became flustered at his declaration. "Oh... well that would be an adventure, wouldn't it? Cooking for an army every day."
Tao laughed, bobbing his head towards Kyungsoo. "Hyung will help you. Right, hyung?"
Kyungsoo was tense beside you, but he gave a short chuckle anyway. "Of course I would."
You looked away from his warm amber eyes to a pair that didn't quite make you feel like your heart was going to fall into your stomach. Too bad there was a glint in Tao's eyes that you weren't sure how to interpret. "I'd help too, ___-ah. When I'm not chasing my mate, that is. Which reminds me..." He headed to the stairs with a wave. "I have to do that now. I'll see you at dinner."
"See you. Be careful, Bora's still got it." Tao chuckled at Kyungsoo's statement, taking the stairs by two.

EXO | Going To A Haunted House For Halloween
Anonymous said:
Hey, Can you please do a EXO reaction to you guys going to a haunted house for Halloween?
Xiumin/Minseok: Sure you could go to a haunted house for Halloween. He would be the best buddy ever because if you were scared shitless he would just lead you right out of there cause he would be completely unaffected.
“How are you not scared?”
“Scared by what?”
“THAT! SCARED BY THAT!”
*Laughs* “Oh I find this more fun than scary.”
“......”
Suho/Junmyeon: Haunted house? What haunted house? There would be going no where near a haunted house. He’d be way too scared to even bother with the suggestion, so don’t even go there.”
“Hey, Junmyeon...I have an idea. This Halloween why don’t we-”
“NOOOOOOOO I know where you are going and that is not happening, no way, no how, nuh uh.”
“You really that scared?”
“Terrified...”
Lay/Yixing: He wouldn’t suggest going to a haunted house, but if you suggested it...he would go. He’s not real skiddish when it comes to the haunted house but if something jumps out in front of him or grabs him, he will get startled.
So if you go there together and you’re both nervous, you can protect each other. Just note that Yixing would probably get very vocal if startled.
Baekhyun: Call him “Mr. Confident Going In, But Not Coming Out”...
“Don’t worry Y/N if anything tries to get you I’ll wrestle them down to the ground to protect you!”
That’s what he would say before you entered the haunted house, seeing that you were nervous and he would let you hang onto his arm as you entered the haunted house. That confidence would go out the window as soon as someone jumped out in front of you and you would both be screaming like mad, his screams last even longer than yours.
“I thought you were going to protect me?!”
“I’m sorry, I lied, now let’s find the-OH MY GOD WHAT WAS THAT?!”
Chen/Jongdae: He of course would have no issues going with you, and when he did an angel will light up the darkness of the haunted house. He would make friends with the actors to try and get them not to scare you cause he hated you being scared.
Ya know...shaking their hands, handing out hot packs if it was cold, thanking them for their hard work.
“Please don’t scare her too bad, she gets nervous easily and she just wanted to check it out.”
Chanyeol: He’d go and get asked to leave through one of the exits meant for people who couldn’t finish the haunted house because they got too scared. But not because he was too scared to finish, but because he was swearing too much from getting scared and people started to get worried that others might start to complain.
You’d manage to make it through alone...barely, but you’d manage. But of course Chanyeol would help but be waiting for you to give you one last scare of the night.
“Chan that’s not funny!” *laughs*
“Really? Then why are you laughing now?”
“Okay, it was kind of funny, you got me.”
*Pretend you’re Baek*
Kyungsoo: He’d be fine for a little while and then he would take off and then you would take off probably in another direction after something jumped out at the both of you, resulting in you getting left in the dust. He would only realize you weren’t with him anymore one he made it outside.
“Uh...Y/N” *cautiously looking back into the haunted house, waiting for you to appear*
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
“Crap, crap, crap! I’m comin’ Y/N!” *runs back into haunted house*
Don’t worry your he runs back into the haunted house to try and find you and you’ll both make it back out.
Kai/Jongin: Believe it or not, he’s another one that would get kicked out for swearing too much. So if you decided to continue on without him, he would patiently wait outside at the exit.
“So...can we go home now?”
“Yeah...yeah we can Jongin. And no scary movies tonight.”
“Oh thank god, I don’t think I could’ve handled that tonight.”
Sehun: If you’re scared of haunted houses and think “hey, I can conquer anything with my loving bf/hubby/bff Sehun by my side!”...I suggest taking Minseok or Jongdae or not going at all.
Because this little shit would be laughing the whole. The terrified look on your face and your screams caused by the actors...he would find that hilarious. No mercy from him.
“That....how could you laugh at me like that Sehunnie?!”
“I wish you could’ve seen your face, it was like...” *imitates the face you made*
“It was not!”
“Was too!”
“Was not! and you can forget our bubble tea date tomorrow!”
“That’s a bit harsh don’t you think?”
Luhan: Ludeer in the headlights. It might get a little interesting with him cause you’d both be slowly making your way through the haunted house, trying to listen for the sound of the actors to that when they jumped out you knew where they were coming from, but every time he would hear a noise he would completely freeze.
“Would you stop that, I want to get out of here.”
“This was your idea I.....ARGH! OH MY GOD!” *falls to ground*
“MEET YOU OUTSIDE LU!”
“WHAT?! NO! GET BACK HERE!”
Kris: He’d be okay until you got in there, and then he’d start talking to himself and trying to convince himself that everything was fine. Until something jumped out at him.
“Kris it’s okay. You’re okay...ARGHHHH!”
“Wait Kris! Come back! Don’t leave me behiiiiind AAAAAAAAHHHH! SOMETHING TOUCHED MY FOOT!”
Tao: Please don’t do that to him. Just stay at home and watch an animated movie that is not scary by any means. Snuggle and cuddle the panda and make everything right in the world!
Cause if he does go with you to a haunted house he will be terrified of what could possibly be inside. Movement out of the corner of his eye, even if it was you and he didn’t realize it was you and he would be screaming.
So please...just stay at home. Don’t let him go through that.

Chaebols: Laid Back
Genre: Fluff
Length:4.8k
Pairing: Yixing x OC (featuring Exo-M)
Summary: Yan has decided this will be the last day of her forced vacation, but then she bumps (literally) into a smiling, dimpled Lay, who makes it a day to remember.
Life was crappy when you were surrounded by people who thought they knew what you needed better than you did. Even worse, when they imposed those opinions and you were forced to abide.
Lin Yan pondered this as she sat poolside, under the enormous bamboo shade that succeeded in keeping the sun from marring her pale skin. One day, just one day when she had passed on breakfast because she just wasn’t hungry, and skipped lunch because of a meeting. One day when she fainted, in her office away from clients and staff, where the only person who knew what her secretary, who called her doctor, who just happened to be good friends with her parents. One day and she was forced to take a vacation. Her own mother threatened to bring her back home, and hand her branch of the family business to her younger brother.
She didn’t need a vacation. Yan didn’t become the first female in her family to hold such a high position, like branch director, by taking vacations. No, she busted her ass, worked twice as hard as her brothers, and was promoted to branch director of their office in Seoul. Away from her family in Beijing, and away from her parents who thought they knew what she needed better than she did.
What the hell were you supposed to do with leisure time?
One damn day cost her two weeks away, with her younger brother Shen as interim director. He was probably eating it up right now. Reclining in her custom office chair, hands behind his head, feet propped up on her one-of-a-kind mahogany desk, with that slimy grin on his face. If she knew her brother (and she knew her brother) he was bossing around her secretary, Park Chae-young, making her do the things he should be doing.
The thought had Yan seething in her beach chair. She could almost feel the anger roll off her like fog down a mountain. It was likely the reason none of the staff approached her. I would be a lie to say she was wanted to enjoy her vacation. It was free time to worry about the damage that would need to be repaired once she returned home. Shen was intelligent but lazy. He would pass off all his work on the people around him. Yan, while a demanding boss, knew when and what to delegate.
Her finger hovered over Chae-young’s number on her phone screen, then locked the phone and dropped it on her lap. Yan wanted desperately to call her secretary for an update, but her mother had threatened again, this time to leave Shen in charge and bring Yan back to work in Beijing, if she made contact during the two weeks. She’d be damned before she gave her company over to her brother.
Yan couldn’t call about her business, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t complain to her mom. The decision was made. Vacation was over. She may not be able to go back to work, but she was going home.
Sweeping her phone back up, thumbs working quickly, she booked a fight back to Seoul for the morning. Yan longed for her apartment and her own bed, the sounds of the city, the shops and the few friends she had made. Moving away from her home had been difficult, but she needed the distance and had thrived on her own. Yan didn’t know when Seoul became home, but it was where she wanted to be. So, it was time to pack her bags. Yan stood, and sighed happily as she secured her wrap around her waist and dialed her mother’s number. She started around the pool as her mother answered.
“Mom,’ she started, “I’m just letting you know, I’m done with vacation, I’m going home. I won’t go back to work until the end of the week, but I’m not going to stay here any longer…”
Her rant was cut short by a hot, sweaty, fleshy wall. Her ankle twisted and she yelped in pain. Her phone slipped out of her fingers, sailing smoothly into the salt-water pool. And Yan was about to follow it in. She held her breath as the water came rushing up to meet her.
It froze in mid-air. No, she froze in mid-air. The water lay calmly in the pool and she was suspended by her waist above it. Her long dark hair dangled around her face, but she could see past to her feet that were framed by a larger pair on either side. Those feet were attached to a pair of tones legs, dusted with dark hair and even further up were a pair of palm tree covered board shorts. Then she noticed her rear was tucked firmly against his hips.
Yan squealed and jerked, trying to right herself, but she only succeeded in throwing them both off balance. She braced for the water again, and a squeak escaped her lips as she was lifted up and away from the pool. The world spun. Then Yan was firmly on her feet, her back pressed against a hard, warm chest. Strong arms slowly uncurled from around her waist.
She tore herself away and turned, fully preparing to rip this idiot a new one, but when her eyes met his she froze.
“I’m so sorry, I wasn’t paying attention, are you okay?” He said in her native language. His silky voice seemed to over shadow any sound she had thought of making. His kind eyes looked over her with worry. “Miss?”
Yan panicked, pointing at the pool, “My phone.”
It was all she managed to get out.
His eyes followed her finger. “Your phone is in the pool? Wait here, I’ll get it. Is it waterproof cause it’s going to be a mess if not…”
His voice trailed off as he stepped back towards the pool. Without skipping a beat, he dove in after her phone. Yan mentally scolded herself. When had she ever been tongue tied around a man. She was a take charge kind of woman. She just wasn’t expecting someone quite so attractive. Not that that mattered to her.
Of course it mattered, she was a woman and that man was near Greek god status. His dark eyes were gentle, his lips were full and well defined, and he had a dimple. A freaking dimple. Not to mention the broad shoulders and abs. Yan growled at herself and shook away the thoughts. He was just a man, a shirtless man, with water cascading down his body as he lifted himself out of the pool, running in rivets down the valleys of his muscles, droplets playing over those lips, falling from the tip of his nose. She shook her head again as he ran a hand through his hair to move the wet strands off his forehead. How does that make him look better?
“I got it, but I think it’s dead.” He handed her the soaked phone. “I can pay you for a new one. You know, since I made you throw it in the pool.”
She finally found her voice. “That’s not necessary.”
What? Why did you say that? Yes, it was necessary, he ran into you and your phone fell into the pool. It was absolutely necessary. Get yourself together!
“I insist, my friends and I are right down on the beach,” he pointed just off the west side of the patio, “let me grab our cooler and if you follow me down I’ll get you the money.”
Yan opted to keep her mouth shut this time, just in case it decided to say things her brain was not alright with again. Instead she gave him a slight nod.
“Great.” He turned and jogged to the bar, the bartender handed him a blue cooler and making a joke that had the man laughing. Even that sounded smooth.
He gave the bartender a fist bump then turned and jogged back in her direction. “Are you ready?”
She nodded. He started past her and as she flinched at the first step. Yan must have hurt her ankle worse that she thought, but she bit back the pain and limped after him.
“So, my friends call me Lay, what about you?” He asked over his shoulder.
Ever practical, Yan was not about to give her real name. “Chyou, Li Chyou.”
“Chyou. That’s a pretty name.” He mused.
“Thanks.”
He continued to talk, but Yan was hypnotized by the way the chords of muscles in his back moved as he held the cooler and navigated his way down the hill to the beach. It almost made her forget about the pain in her ankle. She cringed as she stepped a little too hard, just as Lay looked back.
He turned quickly, rushing back to her, “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” she tried to blow it off, but the concern in his eyes caused her to confess. “I think I twisted my ankle when we collided at the pool.”
“Why didn’t you say something, I was making you walk down the hill.” He knelt down to get a look at her ankle. “Looks a little swollen, here, let me help you.”
Yan gasped as he wrapped an arm around her waist and lifted her off her feet. She grasped him around his shoulders as he whisked her down the hill and to a circle of rocks a good distance up the beach from the water’s edge. A group of more ridiculously, attractive men sat watching them descend on to the sand.
One, who Yan could only describe as exotic, laughed, “Leave it up to Lay to go for drinks and bring back a woman.”
“I bumped into her at the pool, she lost her phone in the water, and twisted her ankle.” He explained as he sat her on a rock. “Chyou, these are my friends, that’s Yifan, but we call him Kris, and his girlfriend Amy, to his right is Luhan, the idiot who spoke earlier is Tao, and to your left is Jongdae and Minseok. Guys, this is Chyou.”
She nodded her head as everyone gave a hello. Lay dropped the cooler and knelt again, his warm hands wrapped around the back of her ankle, lifting it up to inspect the damage. Yan’s skin tingled at the contact. She could feel her face turning an embarrassingly bright shade of red.
“It’s not too bad. You should stay off it for a couple of hours. Jongdae-yah, can you throw me the little towel in my bag?” Lay asked over his shoulder.
“Sure thing, hyung.” Jongdae tossed him the towel and Lay took an ice pack from the cooler and wrapped it in the towel, placing it carefully on her ankle.
“You can hang with us down here for a bit if you want.” Lay told her, those eyes searching her face making her blush even further.
“I should really get back, I’m leaving in the morning. I need to pack.” She explained.
He stood then, moving over to his bag and pulling out his wallet. “Well, if you stay off that ankle for a couple of hours, you can walk back to you room, or you can leave now and I can carry you back.”
He pulled out a wad of bills and counted.
“He’s not joking,” Kris warned, “He will carry you back up that hill, you might as well just hang out with us for a bit.”
Yan sighed, having the Lay Adonis carry her back up the hill was not something she was looking forward to. Ha, who are you kidding? She was passed sold on the idea of that man carrying her anywhere. And that was exactly why she wouldn’t do it.
“Fine till my ankle is better. But then I really have to go.”
To Yan’s surprise, they cheered. She couldn’t help but laugh at their whole-hearted hurrahs. Lay held a bunch of folded bills to her.
“For the phone. It should be enough to cover it. Get a waterproof one this time.” Lay joked with an irresistible smile on his face. Yan was breathless.
It was annoying her.
“Well I don’t vacation much so the probability of running into a man and losing it in a pool is usually pretty low.” She replied, making a joke of her own.
She took the cash and tucked it into the waist of her bathing suit, as Lay sat on the rock next to her. Conversation started quickly and easily. Lay pulled drinks out of the cooler, tossing them to his friends without having to ask what they wanted. He did ask her, though. She didn’t usually drink, unless it was the hard stuff and only on a difficult day, so she took a beer. Her mother would be pissed that she didn’t bother to call her back after the abrupt end, but at this point she didn’t care. They asked her questions, joked around. Played beach volleyball, and she really enjoyed watching that.
Yan discovered Lay had been friends with Kris, Luhan and Tao since they were children and he had met Jongdae and Minseok while attending high school in Seoul. They were a part of a larger group of friends, one of whom had recently got married. Lay was the youngest son of a prominent Chinese family and as the youngest, held little responsibility to the company.
He claimed to help when they needed, but was content to do as he pleased. Yan would have found this unappealing, did find it unappealing, but it’s wasn’t like she planned to know him any further past the end of the day. She had her plane ticket home, the flight in the morning, so she would enjoy just a few hours surrounded by these insanely attractive men, drink a little and finally take it easy for the first time since vacation started. Lay was sweet and attentive, checking on her ankle a couple of times, changing out the ice pack when the first one defrosted.
The beer let Yan loosen up. She chatted with them easily.
Eventually, Lay ran back to the bar for more drinks, leaving Yan on the beach with his friends. She finally felt relaxed. A smile formed on her lips as she closed her eyes and absorbed the feeling, the cool ocean breeze swirling around her, the warmth of the bonfire in the middle of the circle, the distant sound of a guitar being played further down the beach, and the tingling buzz that tip-toed over her skin.
Everyone had fallen into their own little groups, Tao and Luhan argued about who really won the game earlier, Kris snuggled with his girlfriend looking at her as if she were the world. Yan was slightly envious. Minseok and Jongdae, made Yan smile wider. They spoke about her in Korean, not knowing she could understand them, and their conversation was quite interesting.
“I really think he likes Chyou, Hyung. He’s giving her that look. You know the one he gets.” Jongdae told Minseok.
“Yeah, I noticed it too. She’s pretty and funny. I thought maybe he just felt bad about hurting her, but he’s barely left her side since he brought her down.” Minseok agreed.
Yan was so amused, and probably just drunk enough to make her way over to them. She sat on the rock next to Minseok resting her arms on her knee’s as she leaned into their circle.
“Oppa,” she spoke in Korean, “Do you really think he likes me?”
The matching look of surprise on their faces, had Yan giggling. Jongdae hid his face in his hands while Minseok turned twenty shades of red.
Minseok gained his composure first. “You speak Korean?”
“Fluently, since I was young.” She laughed.
The pair glanced at each other in what looked like a secret agreement, then Jongdae looked back to her.
“Tao makes it seem like Lay picks up girls all the time, but he doesn’t. He’s really picky. He’s not a big flirt either. But he seems really into you.”
“That’s sweet guys.” She leaned in further, braver than she would ever be sober. “I like him too. I like all of you. I wouldn’t have passed up packing to go home if I didn’t. This is honestly the best time I’ve had on this vacation. I’m glad I ran into him at the pool.”
They spoke until Lay came back with the drinks and Yan returned to her stone next to him. Her ankle no longer hurt, she was in the best mood she had been in since she was sent here, so she took one last beer, and leaned into him.
“It’s past midnight, I really do have to go. My flight is at seven.” Yan told Lay.
“No, no you don’t. Who needs to pack and fly home when you can stay here and party with us?” Lay urged.
Yan dragged her lower lip through her teeth as she thought. “If it had only been a few days ago. I’ve had so much fun, but I really do have to get packed.”
Lay pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes, making Yan laugh, “I don’t know, Chyou. You’ve drank quite a bit. I should at least make sure you get to your room safely.”
If Jongdae and Minseok hadn’t told otherwise, she would have to say he was flirting with her. Something told her he was being honest. He wanted to know she made it to her room safely.
She nodded, “I agree, you should.”
Now, she was flirting.
Lay stood, holding out his hand to help her off the stone. She took it, allowing him to pull her to her feet, only he didn’t let go when she stood.
“Guys, Chyou has to go pack because she has a flight in the morning. I’ll be back, I’m going to walk her to her room.” Lay told his friends.
They said their goodbyes and wishes that she would stay. Then Lay guided her up the hill.
“You’re really serious about getting back home. Was your vacation that bad?” He asked as they clung to each other for support from the spinning ground.
“I don’t know what to do on a vacation,” came her explanation.
“Have fun, swim, sight-see, dance. There are so many things to do.” Lay laughed at her, “How do you not know how to vacation?”
They stumbled into the hotel and Yan released Lay’s shoulder, her parents had everyone in their pockets, she couldn’t have them thinking she was taking a man to her room. She straightened up, putting on her best sober act. As they passed the front desk the little attendant called for her.
“Miss, Li…” Yan stopped her with a quick shake of her head. “Um, your mother called. She said she couldn’t get a hold of you. I told her there had not been any incidences and I would have you call her when you returned.”
“Thank you, Tina. I’ll do that as soon as I get to my room.” She smiled, walking slowly towards the elevator, Lay at her heals.
She let out the breath she had been holding in hopes it would help her walk a little straighter as the doors closed and she pushed the button for the top floor. Her eyes meet Lay’s and they burst out laughing.
“Did I at least look semi-sober?”
Lay clamped his mouth shut, but the nodding of his head turned into a vigorous shake, and he couldn’t keep the smile off his face. That dimple was making another appearance and Yan felt her stomach flip.
“Well at least she will report back to mother that I was enjoying myself.” Her hand reached out to his shoulder for support as the movement of the elevator threw off her equilibrium. Or maybe it was just his smile, she didn’t know. She felt dizzy, and light, as if she was floating and Lay’s strong shoulders were the only thing keeping her from flying away.
The ding of the elevator brought her back to the ground. Yan slipped her fingers in between his and lead him out into the hallway. There were only two doors to choose from, the top floor, as usual, were penthouse suits and her parents had booked it for her. It was way more than she wanted or needed, but there was no use in arguing with them. She stumbled to the left and Lays hands came around her waist to steady her. He held her straight as she in the door code and opened it a crack.
“Well here I am, safely to my room.” She turned to face him, his hands still resting on her hips.
“I did my job well, didn’t I?” That stupid dimple showed its face again. “I guess I should leave you to it then.”
“Or,” Yan inserted before she could stop herself, “since you destroyed my property, and injured me, causing me to be stuck at the beach all day, you could help me pack. You know, as penance.”
“So, taking care of your ankle and supplying you with drinks and entertainment wasn’t enough?”
She shook her head, dragging her lip through her teeth, “Nope, not enough, you should definitely help me pack.”
Through the drunken haze, Yan knew she was pushing things. She had no intention in sleeping with this man, no matter how she much she flirted, but she didn’t want him to go. She knew she shouldn’t be giving him that impression. Yan didn’t really know him, he could be weird, he could be a serial killer for all she knew. Drunk Yan didn’t believe for a second that this man had a mean bone in his body though.
“Well if the lady says I must pay penance.”
Yan backed out of his hands and though her door, holding it open as Lay followed her inside. She released the door as he stepped in front of her, his fingers brushing against her hand. Yan couldn’t breath as his eyes met hers, his hand eased around the back of her neck, and he lowered his lips to hers. He tasted sweet with just a hint of alcohol. His scent, like a clean ocean breeze, surrounded her as she placed her hands on his chest. At what point did he put a shirt on? She couldn’t remember, and she was not happy about it.
Lay lips played lazily over hers, and Yan savored the feeling, warm, soft, and damn if that man didn’t know what he was doing. His free hand slid around her waist, resting in the small of her back, pulling her against him. Somewhere in the back of her drunken mind, warning bells chimed.
With the slightest pressure, she pushed at his chest, and he obliged easily.
“You should know, I’m not going to sleep with you.” She said in between breaths.
He chuckled, placing one hand on the wall behind her and leaned to the side, pressing his lips to her neck quickly.
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed, but that’s not what I intended here. I’ve just wanted to do that for a while now.” He murmured as he placed another kiss to her neck.
“If that’s the case, then…” Yan’s hand cupped his face and brought him back to her lips.
But this time, the leisurely way he had kissed her before was replaced with hot, breathless kisses. Yan felt heady, her heart pounded in her chest, her skin flushed. It was as if she was drunk all over again.
He moved them slowly, away from the door, to the living area. Yan was vaguely aware of being lead to the couch, but she was too fixated on her hands against his bare skin, playing across the planes of his stomach. Just as he lay them on the couch, the phone of the suit began to ring.
“And that would be mother.” Yan sighed as Lay buried his face against her neck. His breath on her neck tickled, and Yan giggled, “I have to answer it, I’m sure the attendant let her know I was back.”
Lay raised his head, pressing one more kiss to her lips before, sitting back on the couch.
He sat quietly for the twenty-minute argument with her mother. Then she changed from her bathing suit into a pair of shorts and t-shirt. The man actually helped her pack her bags. Yan insisted it was a joke and it wasn’t necessary for him to help, but he helped load her things into her bag. Then they talked.
About everything, laying on her bed, fingers laced together. He made her laugh, listened intently to her rant about her family, and how much she loved her job, and as the sun peaked through the curtains, Lay’s eyes closed and he drifted to sleep. Yan stayed next to him for a while longer, remembering the lines of his face, the way his lips parted just slightly as he slept, how his dark hair lay messily over his forehead. She would likely never see him again, and she wanted to remember him, some great memory to look back on when she was tired and alone.
She brushed her lips across his one final time, then she changed into a sensible mint green blouse and cream slacks, gathered her bags and left to catch her plane.
Yixing
Too much light! His head hurt, and Zhang Yixing cursed himself for drinking too much. Slowly, he peeked out of one eye, the one furthest from the light, then the other. The room was only slightly familiar. It wasn’t his room he knew. Chyou! It was Chyou’s room. What was the time? He sat up, locating the clock on the bedside table.
“This can’t be right.” He moaned, “Chyou!”
His call was answered with silence. If it was 11am, Chyou would have already been on her flight home, would probably already be home. She wouldn’t have left him asleep in her room.
“Chyou,” He called again, but as he looked around the empty room, he felt a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.
Yixing jumped to his feet, searching the bathroom, the living area, the balcony but Chyou was nowhere to be found. The whole suit was void of any evidence that she was ever there. As if she didn’t exist. He found his shoes neatly by the door and left for the elevator. A million things ran though his head. When the doors opened to the first floor, he made his way to the front desk. It was a different attendant than the one she had spoken when they were going to her room.
“Excuse me, can you tell me where Li Chyou is.” Yixing asked the attendant.
“I’m sorry, I don’t recognize that name,” the attendant answered.
“Li Chyou, she’s been here for a week and a half. In room 1502.”
The attendant’s fingers flew across the keys on her computer. “I don’t have any one by that name at this hotel. The woman who was in that room left this early this morning but paid through until noon.”
“Okay, so what was her name?”
“I can’t give you that information, sir.” She smiled politely.
Yixing sighed, “Look I drank a little too much last night, and the lady was kind enough to allow me to sleep it off in her room. I just want to know who I can thank for the kindness.”
“I’m sorry, I really can’t give you that information.” She insisted.
Yixing ran his hand through his hair. How could she just leave without waking him? Had she not even given him her real name? How the crap was he supposed to find her?
The attendant broke into his thoughts, “Is there anything else I can help you with?”
He shook his head, turning back to the elevators. His room was on the tenth floor, and he needed a shower and somewhere to get his thoughts together. As the doors closed, Yixing came to a realization. He hadn’t thought to tell her his real name. Lay, was a nickname, it wasn’t a lie, all his friends called him that. But there was no way for her to find him if she tried. Man, he’d messed this up big time.
As he entered his room, Yixing remembered running into her at the pool, hanging out at the beach, walking her back to her room, kissing her. Damn, he wasn’t likely to get this out of his head any time soon. She was fun, and easy to talk to, not to mention a killer in that bathing suit. They talked all morning. Why the hell did he have to fall asleep? He would keep looking, but he was afraid he would never see her again.
Yixing wasn’t sure he could be satisfied with that.

Luhan.
From you had been told, he should have been locked up in EXO’s chinese facility. How was he possibly be here?
He patted Sehun’s back lovingly. “I’ve missed you, too.”
Sehun straightened up, trying his hardest to make his face stoic again.
“How are you here?” Minseok asked the question that was on everyone’s lips.
“Security in the other lab isn’t as tight,” he answered, stepping further into the house. The door closed with a loud bang behind him, making you flinch. “They rescued us first. That was about eight months ago.”
“Are-” Junmyeon stopped, clearing his throat nervously. “Are the others with you?”
Luhan shook his head. “No. After about five months, they were ready to be back into the world. They split up. Tao’s still angry with Kris, blaming him for us being caught. They check in separately every so often, but I haven’t heard from them in a while. As far as we know, they’re doing fine.”
Junmyeon nodded, seemingly simultaneously sad and grateful for the update.
“(y/n).”
When Luhan called out to you, your perked up. Leaning around Jongin’s shoulder, you made eye contact with him. “Yes?”
“Where’s Marcus?”
Licking your lips, you opened your mouth to answer, but Junmyeon beat to the punch.
“He didn’t make it.”
Luhan visibly deflated, shoulders slumping.
You pushed past your barrier, stepping up. Upset or not, you could still speak for yourself.
“He got caught in the crossfire. We couldn’t save him.” You crossed your arms. “I’m assuming you’re the contact he told me about?”
He smiled. “Yeah. I decided to stick with the program and get these idiots out.”
A few chuckles rumbled off from the crowd behind you. Even you grinned a bit.
“You’re late.” The mood in the room was light and you tried to keep up with it.
“I know. EXO isn’t making it easy to move around. We had to be careful so we didn’t lead them to you accidentally.” He glance around the room. “I’m sorry guys. You’ll have to stay here a little longer.” Focus back on you, his face was all so serious. “(y/n), I think we should talk in private.”
Understanding, you nodded. “Okay. Let’s go up to my room.”
Multiple roars erupted behind you, making you jump. You couldn’t decipher who exactly had objected to your suggestion and you were confused as to what the big deal was. Luhan wasn’t a stranger. To them, at least.
“Or not.” You scratched head. “Okay, how about everyone else goes up to their rooms and Luhan and I stay in the living room?”
That idea wasn’t dismissed.
“Okay, then. I’ll call for you guys when we’re through.”
After giving nods of approval, they slowly went up the stairs. Minseok stopped to give Luhan a hug.
“I’m glad to see you safe, Minseok.”
Pulling away, the eldest shook his head. “You’re one to talk.”
Sehun was the last to leave, obvious reluctant to be absent of Luhan’s presence.
“We’ll catch up soon, Sehun,” he promised.
Giving in, Sehun nodded and took the stairs to the second floor two at a time.
“Come on,” you motioned with your head for him to follow you.
Though you had said to conveign in the living room, you didn’t entire trust the guys to stay in their rooms, so you bypassed the reactional room to the breakfast room. Windows made up three of the four walls with a small, round table in the middle, perfect for breakfast at sunrise. It was another one of your little hideaways that the boys didn’t bother you in. With a good deal distance from the second floor and plenty of doors in between, you knew the two of you could have privacy if you kept your voices low.
Once you were both seated, you let out a deep breath.
“Is the part where you tell me that my face is plastered all over every news broadcast as a wanted criminal?”
Luhan shook his head. The small smile on his face was reassuring. He had young boyish features, although from little you could remember from his nearly empty file you’d only glanced at once, he was one of the older ones.
“No. EXO has kept this little jailbreak quiet. They can’t exactly say nine of their human experiments went missing to the public. But they’ve got plenty of manpower to search for all of us without causing a stir in the streets.”
Leaning back in your seat, you sighed. “How much longer do you think we’ll have to stay here?”
The smile faded. “I don’t know. Maybe a week? They only sent me ahead because I was getting restless. We hadn’t heard from Marcus and I didn’t take that as a good sign. He was usually the impatient type. They agreed to let me scout ahead, make sure you guys made it here. I’ll contact my handler and them know you’re safe. From there, we’ll wait for things to die down.”
It would never die down. Dr. Wang herself was a very determined woman. She wouldn’t just let this go. They spent too much time, money, and resources to just shrug and walk away. All of you would be hunted for the rest your lives. Constantly looking over your shoulder, making sure no one was following you for too long, careful not to leave any sort of trace of who you really were.
“How exactly are you going to contact your handler?” you asked, trying to get your mind on something else rather than your future living as a burned spy. If only you were that cool. Or good at throwing a punch.
Luhan dug around his pocket before throwing down a very old and dingy looking flip phone. You didn’t even realize those still existed.
“Burner phone,” he explained. “Untraceable. It’s been specially programmed to only be able to receive calls from one number. Same for any outgoing calls. Only that one number, everything else will fail to dial.”
You raised an eyebrow, impressed. “Nice.”
Leaning forward, Luhan rested his elbows on the table, staring you down and lowering his voice. “(y/n). The reason I wanted to talk to you alone was because I sensed something as soon as I walked into the house.”
“Sensed something?” you echoed. “Like, you smelled something? Or heard?”
He shook his head. “No. You see, my alterations gave me another sense. Not really a sixth sense since humans technically have a few more beyond our normal five.”
You bit your tongue, holding back your snipe. You knew that. You did go to med school.
“But my extra sense….” He paused, trying to find the best way to phrase whatever he was about to express to you. “Well, I guess the closest word to it is empath.”
“Okay,” you chewed on the inside of your cheek, processing his statement. “So, based on my limited knowledge of that word, you can basically feel other people's emotions?” Do not make a reference to that book, do NOT make a reference to that book.
“It’s a bit more complicated than that, but yes. I’m so intuned, sometimes it feels like I can read their mind.”
That made you scoff. “Okay, I believe Junmyeon being able to survive underwater without breathing for an hour and I can understand the science behind Yixing’s rapid healing, but mind reading? Seriously?”
Luhan rolled his eyes. “It’s not mindreading. I can just make very accurate assumptions from what I pick up. It’s more like I can smell the pheromones and the chemical changes in your brain and interpret what they mean.”
“That makes more sense,” you replied, although still a bit skeptical. “So, why are you telling me this?”
Clearing his throat, he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. “Take what I’m about to say and keep it to yourself, okay?”
You cocked an eyebrow. “Okay….”
“I can sense the guys are protective of you,” he stated. That was obvious enough, even to you. “Marcus kept us updated on the situation with you. When the thing happened with Sehun-” he stopped, shaking the thought away. “We were able to realize that the boys would be more likely to listen to you than Marcus, so when he informed us that you were in, I was relieved. I figured they’d be attached to you, but-” he took a deep breath. “You understand that their DNA is mixed with wolf genes and that’s altered their way of thinking.”
You groaned. “Luhan, I’m a doctor. I studied their files and their blood for months. I know they are basically now part wolf. They might as well be a pack of werewolves that just don’t actually turn into giant dogs. What does this have to do with anything?”
He smirked. “You’re right. We might as well be wolves. Our instincts are like wolves. Including our mating instincts.”
The air caught in your throat, making you choke. “Mating instincts?”
“Yup.” Luhan gave you a look of sympathy. “They can get attached quickly. In this case, it’s to probably the first female to ever show them kindness.”
“So, you’re saying that those nine wolves have pegged me as their possible mate?” You were in deep trouble.
Luhan shook his head. “No. Not all. Like I said, most of them see you as a sister or motherly figure. Still would fight to keep you safe, but not romantic in any way. From what I could interpret, only about three of them see you as a possible mate.”
Okay. Still deep trouble but you could keep your head above water. Certain instances popped into your head. You were pretty sure you knew which of the boys he was talking about. This wasn’t going to be pretty.
“My advice,” he continued, “make your position known. Keep your distance. If you only want to be their friend, make sure they know it. If there is someone who you might be growing close to, keep it hidden from the others. Wolves are territorial. We’re all brothers, but they won’t hesitate to rip each other’s throats out if they feel like one of them is getting too close to you.”
You slumped in your chair. A face flashed in your mind and your heart sped up for just a moment. Yeah, you were falling for him. He made you feel safe. He calmed you down and always seemed to know just what to say. But how could you even think that way right now? It wasn’t the time or place for this.
“It’s okay to be getting feelings,” Luhan reassured you. “You don’t have to feel guilty. It’s natural.”
Throwing him a look, you tried to look on the bright side. At least there was now some progress on your current situation. With Luhan’s arrival, you finally had a way to contact the private sector if anything were to go wrong. You had someone here who had gone through a jailbreak before and could provide some very needed feedback, particularly on how not to get caught. Focusing on a love subplot to your life was not going to do you any good. Perhaps if you just distanced yourself from everyone equally, you’d be fine.
No. That wouldn’t work. The boys would pick up on it and ask if they’d done something to upset you. Minseok picked up on your issue with Yixing like a hound on a fox. All nine of them confronting you would just be horrifying.
Standing up, you figured your only choice was to play it by ear. Hopefully it didn’t turn into all out war like Luhan was describing.
What were you supposed to do? Sit them all down and say “hey, so I realize that I’m the only female that has shown you kindness in the last fifteen years and you are genetically enhanced males that are now led by by your instincts, but lets all just try and not be controlled by our hormones for the time being”? You shuddered at the thought.
“Hey, don’t stress out about it too much,” Luhan comforted.
You threw him a look. “I’m on the run from a very powerful research lab with practically infinite resources with nine genetically altered man-wolves who might start acting like it’s mating season. Yeah, I have absolutely nothing to stress out about.”
He smirked. “At least they’re all attractive.”
You gaped at him, unable to move as you watched his back exit from the sun room and into the main house.
Coming to your senses, you followed him. At the base of the stairs, you called up to the boys, “Okay! It’s safe to come down now!”
There was a moment of silence before a rumble that challenged a stampede of elephants shook the ceiling above you. All nine boys in a giant blob stumbled down the stairs before not-so-stabley coming to a stop in front of you and Luhan.
“Why don’t you all sit down at the island to catch up and I’ll warm dinner back up for everyone?”
Several of them nodded. Sehun threw an arm around Luhan, holding him back a bit while the others started for the kitchen. As you went to follow them, Junmyeon caught your eye and gave you small, reassuring smile. You returned it before noticing Luhan’s smirk in the corner of your eye. When Sehun wasn’t looking, he threw you a thumbs up and a look that clearly said “nice choice”.
Shaking your head, you pushed past them and tried not to focus on Jongin’s questioning gaze.
Having an empath around was going to drive you insane.

Chapter 35 When Vanessa came around, I started to realize that she made the asteroid fall, I asked, "What's your power?" "I handle the power of space so basically Cosmic," she said, "You would know my eyes turned to Midnight Blue." "My eyes turn Emerald Green," I told her, "I mean I have the power of Balance." "You don't have to learn every power because each power is unstable if you have the other," said Vanessa.
"I have light so in order to have the power of darkness, I must make sure that none of the powers meet," I said, "But wait a minute here, space is a combination of both light and dark. I mean I'm not wrong am I?" "You have an excellent point, Lindsey," said Shadow, "But in order for that to actually work you need to master the power of gravity."
"Are you alright now?" I asked Shadow, "I mean she almost killed you if that shield didn't protect you." "There was a shield?" she asked. We looked at Kensi, she walked up to us and said, "Yes, I have the power of Shield that's why I protected the both of you. My eyes turned Topaz Yellow."
We all gathered around, Suho said, "Alright, since that happened, thank Vanessa, I'm starting to realize that I was thinking that I was tamed but I was wrong, it's just every new pack member we get, they fall in love with someone else and it angered me. All I saw was red, I just wanted to be heard but I didn't chose the proper words and lashed out on everybody."
"Was it all because I saved you guys with that single Shadow Ball I casted?" asked Shadow. Suho said, "No, it wasn't, it was when you said you were already taken, that fight, I wanted you to win because I was trying to make you break up on whoever you were with." "You wanted me to win?" she said, "Why? You are the leader of this side, Suho, I have my side." "I know but now everything is divided because of my actions, I wanted you to take over since you are the daughter of the Tree of Life," said Suho.
"I don't take anyone else's leadership even if I am her descendant that doesn't change anything," she said, "I wanted to help you all and then go back to what I was doing and that was spending time with my boyfriend who is from the Seventeen pack." "I know now," said Suho, "I just hope that I can be 50% human and 50% wolf just like you, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Chanyeol and Lindsey."
"You know you could've just asked for that," said Shadow, "Everyone else here is that but you, we were waiting for you so we can enjoy each other before the next battle." "I get that now," said Suho, "How long do I have to wait?" "Just a simple rest," said Chanyeol, "That happened with me." "Alright," said Suho, "Do I sleep now or what?" "Wait until night time, you goofball," said Vanessa.
I swear it's like she's playing hard to get which is a very smart strategy, now it's just me, the girls, and Kai because Elizabeth would not let him go and destroy things which Kai pouted. Kensi asked, "So, Lindsey, who is your partner?" "Fire boy," said Kai. I corrected, "Fire boy meaning Chanyeol, he means everything to me." "I see, well, I think I'm interested in Kyungsoo," said Kensi.
Kai said, "If you- Liz, let me go." He pulled out of her grip and continued, "If you want to get with Kyungsoo, you have to know on what he likes and doesn't like." "I know he doesn't like Chanyeol," said Kensi. I said, "That's because Chanyeol, Mister Foghorn, doesn't know when to shut up." "Yeah, but he loves to cook," said Kai, "That's basically his favorite thing to do."
"I love to cook," said Kensi, "But I'm not that good." An idea popped into my head, I'm guessing same with Elizabeth and Shadow because we all said at the exact same time, "He can teach you." "I mean, yeah, he can teach you if he teaches you, you guys can bond with each other," said Shadow.
Kensi said, "You know, that's not a bad idea, I'll go to him later." "Now," said Shadow, "I know you are twice as shy as he is but you can waste a moment like this, sooner or later he's gonna find someone else and no longer interested in you." "Is that what happened with you, Shadow?" I asked. She said, "I rather not talk about it." "Anyways, Vanessa, who do you have eyes for?" asked Kai.
She scoffed and said, "As if I would tell you." "She's interested in Suho," said Elizabeth. Vanessa looked at her and asked, "How did you know?" "She has the power of Love, she sense someone is in love with another and can heal broken hearts by literally with the touch of her index finger," I said to her, "So, she can on who you are interested in." "I see why her eyes are Magenta color," she said, "Yes, I am, I was playing hard to get, I'm a master at that." "You are not the only who plays hard to get," said Shadow.
Vanessa said, "I just don't want him to know until more come." "More?" I asked. Elizabeth said, "Everyone deserves a happy life and a happy ending once this is all over." "Do you guys know what is going on?" Kai asked. Vanessa said, "Sure we do, I mean why else would we have these powers?" "True," said Kai.
Kensi said, "Well, I hope I would be helpful with my shield powers, I mean, that's all I can do." "Or you can help one of us doing a power attack if one of us is surounded," I said. Shadow happened to look behind her and sees someone, I looked at what she was looking at, another person showed up. One of them asked, "Are we at the right pack?" "Depends, who are you?" I asked. The one dressed in purple, said, "My name is Belle, this is my friend Sharla." "May we stay here for a while until we leave?" asked Sharla.
The other guys came and sees Belle and Sharla, Kai asked, "May we know what your powers are?" "Powers?" asked Belle. Sharla shook her head and said, "I have the power of Gravitation, she has the power of Creation." "Creation and Gravity, perfect!" I said, sounding excited. Shadow said, "You are surely excited about meeting new people." "Well, of course, it's a good thing that there are more coming," I said, "Perks of having the power of Balance I guess."
Baekhyun sees Sharla and Luhan sees Belle, I noticed they are carrying very heavy bags and I know this because Baekhyun walked up to Sharla, helped her take it off her back, same with Luhan with Belle. Belle sees Luhan and asked, "Are you single?" "Single and manly," said Luhan. The rest of us groaned and Belle said, "Single and a cutie you mean?" "I'm manly get it right," he said to her. Belle pushed a button by saying, "Then I'm not interested, Mr Gaston." "Alright, I get it, I'll drop the manly comments," he said, "Just as long as you don't ruin anything of me."
"Oh hush," said Sharla, "Anyways, what were you saying Baekhyun?" "I said that you are beautiful," he said, "Hey Lindsey, can I move into your home?" "Sure," I said, "Just know your limits." "I just want to be closer to Sharla here," he said. Luhan said, "I'm moving over as well." "Why do that when we can our own house?" asked Belle. Off in the distance, Belle made herself a house big enough for her and Luhan. Luhan said, "Alright, that's settled but you live there I can come and visit you." "Why, of course, I wasn't forcing you," said Belle.
"Wow, she makes basically everything," said Shadow. I had an idea, grabbed Kensi by the arm and went to Belle, I said, "Belle! Do you have time to spare?" "Why, yes I do," she said, "What do you need, darling?" "Make enemies surrounding me and Kensi, I need to show her on what I meant," I said, "This is only for practice." "Alright, that's all I need to do," said Belle, "But, these enemies are going to turn into water if you are done practicing alright?" "That's fine," I said.
So, she did that, I had my eyes turn Fire Red and Diamond White, I turned to Kensi and told her, "Make sure your eyes are the color of your power." She nodded and hers turned Topaz Yellow, I said, "Get out your shield like you are shielding yourself." She did that and I did my move, she now knows on what I meant, then we were done practicing, Kensi said, "I think I know now, clever move." "Well, we need to practice in order to know on what we were doing," I said to her.
Belle asked, "Is that all you two?" "For her, yes, but I'm gonna need Shadow because I really want to master the power of Darkness," I said. Belle said, "Alright just tell me when." Shadow came over and said, "Alright, Darkness is very powerful like Light but it needs to bend to your will unless you want to lose your life to it." "I'll do anything," I said.
2 hours go by and I managed to master it, Sharla came over and said, "Since you are willing to use both Light and Dark at the same time, you'll need Gravity because Gravity balances everything else, once gravity comes in, Dark does not counter Light and Light doesn't counter Dark."
20 minutes later, I mastered Gravitation, Vanessa asked, "Do you want to know Cosmic?" "Are Black Holes cosmic?" I asked. Sharla said, "In a way, but its combined with Gravity, Cosmic, and Dark. But it's very dangerous." "Oh, right, sorry," I said, "I mean I was never really into Cosmic." "Alright," said Vanessa, "But like what Shadow said you don't have to know all powers." "That's why I chose Speed over Time," I said.

A/N: I hope you enjoy your Jimin Land story and thank you for waiting so patiently for it as well ^^ I don’t know why it won’t let me tag you but I will send you a message personally.
His arm was draped over her shoulders as they made their way down the small hill towards the pool. He had promised Jin and Tae that he would spend a day with them but he had found it hard to leave her side. Eventually he gave in and just invited her along with him; it wasn’t like the boys hated her, Ryma had always loved the boys and the boys had always enjoyed having her around as well. Her hair was tickling his arm as the wind blew it off her neck, the purple strands flying into his face now. He let out a soft chuckle as he quickly smoothed her hair back down. His eyes darted to the side as he heard her laugh along with him. Immediately his heart swelled as her brown eyes just stared happily into his own doe eyes.
“Sorry. I didn’t think it would be this windy today.” Her eyes left his and looked further up, her brown irises pinned to the cloudy sky above.
“The news said it was going to storm later today which is why we moved our plans to the pool instead of the beach.” To prevent any further stray hairs he had moved his arm and let his fingers freely slide through her hair to keep it tame.
“That’s fine with me. Thank goodness for the genius that put the pool inside.” Her smile stretched across her face as her eyes locked with his once more. He felt her fingers prod at his own and only then did he notice her arm lifted from her side and her fingers grasping his own. He moved his arm back around her shoulders and let his fingers wrap around hers as he dipped his head and pressed his lips the the top of her head.
Shouts echoed across the air as they grew closer to the pool house and soon Jin’s window wiping laugh was heard amidst the proclamations Tae was shouting about his crush. It was a wonder to Jungkook how Tae’s crush was so unaware of the harbored feelings his friend tried to keep hidden. The door to the pool house was propped open and he made quick work of ushering Ryma inside and leading her towards their two friends.
“Tae! If you broadcast your feelings to the entire island she is bound to find out.” He started shouting when he began to talk to be heard over his friend’s shouts and his voice grew gradually softer as they ceased to talk when they heard him.
“I was not broadcasting- wait… I’m older than you punk show some respect!” Ryma’s laugh echoed off the walls as he avoided his friends fist, moving away from her to keep her out of the line of fire.
He quickly took off running down the side of the pool as Taehyung chased him, both of their flipflops echoing on the hard floor. As he reached the end of the pool he could hear Jin and Ryma talking about how they were too much like children and an idea popped into Jungkook’s head.
With his smirk plastered onto his face he picked up his speed, knowing full well that Taehyung would never be able to catch him. He turned the corner and came to an abrupt stop, spinning around and grabbing Taehyung’s wrists. The look on his face was priceless as he realized what Jungkook was going to do and tried to flee. There was no point in fleeing though because Jungkook quickly clutched onto his wrist and yanked his arm so he flew backwards into the pool.
His eyes slowly rose to see Jin standing behind Ryma as his laughter filled the pool house, his body bent in half to try and hide his form behind her. Ryma had the biggest smile on her face, her over clothes removed and her bathingsuit being the only thing she was wearing now. He started to make his way over to them as he ignored Taehyung’s shouts.
“Yah! Jungkook! Don’t you even think about it!” The older boy had pulled away from Jungkook’s girlfriend and had started to make his way around the pool. Jungkook’s body tensed up like a spring the had just been compressed and he was ready for the release. “No! No! No!”
His sandals fell from his feet as he took off, his arms pumping wildly at his sides as the older began to run away from him. It wasn’t difficult to catch up to Jin, the older struggling to properly turn the corners of the pool and running further away from the edge in turn. Jungkook grabbed onto his shirt, his chuckles coming out breathlessly as he pulled his struggling friend closer to the pool edge.
“Any last words?” His arm wrapped around the waist of his friend as he strained to pick him up and throw him over his shoulder. Jin was one of the bigger boys in the group but he had still been able to manhandle him.
“No no no no no Jungkook I’m sorry I called you childish!” He chuckled again and quickly tossed his friend into the pool with an awaited Taehyung.
His eyes scanned the expanse of the pool house in search for her and his heart sunk when he couldn’t see the familiar brown and purple hair or the warm brown eyes he loved so much. His breathing picked up once again as he looked out the door, checking to see if she had left the pool house. The smile that had graced his face fell instantly and he began to spin around to check behind him. Maybe she was just hiding?
The sudden force on his chest made react out of character, his hand grasping quickly onto the thing that had slammed into his chest. He didn’t have much time to process but the purple that flashed across his vision as they both tumbled into the pool had him panicking.
They broke through the water with a loud splash and he twisted his body so he could quickly stand up. The water was still rippling and calming down and he rose up, his hands plunging back into the water as he hurriedly pulled Ryma up. Her breathing was erratic and her now drenched hair was in her face.
“Shit. I’m so sorry.” He quickly pushed her hair back away from her face and cupped her cheeks with his large hands as she cleared the water from her system. Her body shook as she coughed and her hand came up to pinch her nose, the pool water having been an intrusion for her. “Are you alright?”
She shook her head and pushed his hands away from her face, making his chest tighten with guilt. She quickly rubbed the water away from her eyes as she began to speak, her voice still rough from having to cough up the pool water.
“I hit my knee on the edge.” His hands reached for her waist and he lifted her up onto the side of the pool, his eyes falling to her legs to examine them himself.
As soon as her knee left the water blood welled up from a cut where she must have banged it against the concrete. Jungkook quickly grabbed the hem of his shirt and pulled it off, his hair ruffling up and water cascading down his face once more.
“Oh wow. There are first aids in cabins, do you want me to run and get one?” Tae had come up behind him as Jungkook pressed his shirt against her knee, making her hiss in discomfort as her leg jerked away by reflex.
“That’d be great.” Taehyung quickly pulled himself out of the pool and took off to the closest cabin with was gratefully Jimin’s. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to pull you in.” Jungkook kept his eyes downcast as he kept the shirt pressed to her knee.
“Stop apologizing. It’s not your fault I’m a clutz and can’t even fall into a pool correctly.” He looked up and saw the small smile on her face, it was a pained smile but it was a smile nonetheless. Her hair was bunched up and sticking up in multiple directions from how he pushed it back earlier and it brought a smile to his face as well.
“It’s also your fault for pushing me into the pool in the first place.”
“I was exacting revenge for my friends. I can’t just sit idly by and watch as they are manhandled and tossed into a pool. Even if it was you doing it.” Her hand reached out and pushed the wet strands of his hair out of his face. On instinct he leaned into her touch as if he was an attention depraived puppy and closed his eyes. “Kookie I’m fine. It’s just a scratch.”
“I know. But I still caused it.” He opened his eyes to look back down into hers.
“You know kook. If I knew all it took was for me to injure myself to get you to take off your shirt I would have done it much sooner.” Her lips stretched into the most perfect smirk as laughter rumbled out of his chest.
“Well you know, I think I might have to buy you a ladder. You’re still not taller than me even when I hoist you up on the side of the pool.” He smirked back and saw as her eyebrows pulled together.
“Hey. It’s not fair to use my height against me. I know I’m short. I may be small but I can pack a-” He cut her off then, leaning forward and pressing his lips to hers in a chaste kiss to startle her.
Her eyes were wide and they slid from his eyes to somewhere behind him before looking back to him. She opened her mouth to say something else and he just kissed her again, loving the reactions he was getting as her hands came up to cover her cheeks.
“Jungkook. Jin is still here.” She looked behind him again and gently rubbed her own cheeks. He normally didn’t show much affection around the boys but he couldn’t help himself sometimes. Moments when he felt really sorry or when she looked beyond beautiful he could never hold himself back.
“It’s only Jin.” Before he could say anymore Taehyung plopped down beside Ryma and handed over the small first aid box. He set the box on the side of the pool and removed his shirt from her knee, tossing the ruined cloth aside and pulling out an antiseptic wipe.
His entire focus was on her now as he patched her up the best he could. He felt sorry of course, he had never meant to hurt her and now her day at the pool with him was pretty much ruined. He told her just that, mumbling a quiet apology as he sealed her knee up with a large band-aide.
“Jungkook don’t worry about it. You can tease me all you want for how cheesy this is going to sound but I am happy as long as I see you having fun. I can still sit here and mess around with you guys. I’m not dead. I just can’t get in the water.” He chuckled at that last part.
“You know that was starting off really sweet until that last part.” He leaned forward and placed a soft kiss to her cheek, his forehead resting against her’s as he apologized once more. “I’m sorry. I promise I will make it up to you. I love you.”
“I love you too Jungkook now go play.”

Hell and Back- Chapter 11: Sticky Situation (Trial 16)
Chapter warnings: none
Word count: 1104
-----
Chanyeol was now understandably very nervous. The last trial did not look pleasant at all, and he didn't have healing powers like Lay. Not only that, but he had been so calm and cool about it, even as he was bleeding and assumedly in pain. Chanyeol was only a year younger, but right now he felt like a little kid looking at a role model. How could he hope to be like that? The trials were only getting worse, after all.
The limited power was Baekhyun, and Y/N wasted no time clicking Chanyeol's name, completely oblivious to the fear in his eyes and the clenching of his fingers at his side. The boy didn't take out his own phone, scared to see what he would have to face. Humming as the words popped up, Y/N skimmed it.
"Alright, Happy, it says you have to dip your hair in glue." At this, Chanyeol let his eyes, which he hadn't even realized he'd shut, flit back open.
"What?"
"Yeah, that's it." She shrugged. "You just have to dip your hair in glue."
"Like... all of it?"
"Maybe? It doesn't say."
"Does it specify what kind of glue?" Kyungsoo asked, pulling out his own device.
"Um...no. There's like, no detail. And the dropout price is another $50 up, as always- $600."
"Don't look so worried, man, you got off easy." Lay put a hand on his shoulder. This only served to make him feel worse. Now he felt stupid for ever being a baby in the first place, to the point where Lay of all people felt the need to comfort him.
"I mean, we all probably have glue at our places." Sehun mentioned.
"Or we can just go into a store again." Kris decided. "But not all of us," he added. "Too chaotic. Just send someone in."
"I'll go get the glue." Suho agreed, "Just drop me off back at that grocery place, it'll only be a minute."
"Bring back a bottle of something-" Xiumin joked as he opened the door.
"Man, it's like, not even two in the afternoon." Kris mentioned.
"And you get annoying when you're wasted." Sehun added. Suho didn't acknowledge any of them, simply rolling his eyes and shutting the door behind him. As they waited for him in the parking lot, Luhan began talking to her under his breath.
"This is getting kind of tedious, don't you think?"
"How do you mean?" He shrugged, as if he wanted to say something, but wasn't sure how. Maybe he just didn't want to offend her?
"I don't know, we're running around all over the place, backtracking, completing all these random little tasks. someone could get hurt, like Lay, and they're going to get worse, but even now it's just a lot to deal with." Laughing brokenly, he looked towards the window, like he didn't want to make eye contact with you. "Sorry, I know if it's such a problem for me I should just drop out, but-"
"No, no-" she cut him off. "You're fine. You're allowed to not like what's happening. We're a team, though, if you need help or you want to talk about it, just say something. And worse case scenario, even if you have to leave, you can still get the wish with us, right?" It was like a knife in the stomach for her to have to say that, but she couldn't think of anything else. She'd deal with it later. That's what she had to keep telling herself.
"I couldn't do that." He muttered. "Everyone working hard and me taking advantage of it? I don't know if I'd ever be able to feel good about it."
"Well, I understand, but let's just not think about it right now. The worst we have to worry about is driving to the same grocery store twice, right?" Before he could answer, the car door opened again, soho holding up a plastic bag dangling from his fingertips. Inside was a bottle of glue, as well as a pack of styrofoam bowls.
"Hey, what happened to the drinks?" Baekhun asked in a purposely annoying voice.
"You can't even hold your alcohol." Chen reminded him.
"You're all insane." Luhan mumbled, leaning back to let the boys push past each other to see. Suho twisted the glue cap so that the hole was open, turning it to pour it into one of the bowls. As he did this, Kyungsoo pointed out that he could simply unscrew the entire cap and pour about a thousand times faster. Realizing this and doing so, he emptied the rest of the bottle into the bowl. It was a clear craft glue, so it wasn't as strong as construction adhesive but a bit more potent than kid's glue. Looking back to Chanyeol, he held up the bowl awkwardly.
"Maybe just come back here?" Chanyeol suggested.
"Oh, yeah, that would work better." Some of the boys exited the car, allowing for Chanyeol to sit on the left side of the middle row, and Suho on the right. Leaning over it, he asked, "How much are you going to do?"
"I don't know..." Chanyeol responded. "As much as I need to, I guess." Leaning over with the right side of his head hovering awkwardly over the bowl, still held out by Suho, he let a single lock of his dark, soft hair fall into the sludge. Pulling it out with a look of disgust, he tried to keep it from dripping on his skin, allowing the excess to fall into the bowl. At the buzz of a notification, Y/N looked to her phone.
"It says you have to keep going." Chanyeol groaned, the paste cementing itself to him already.
"Fine..." He did a second piece, and then a third. The trial still wasn't clear. At this point, he had been forced to sit up, allowing it to drip down the side of his neck in little beads. Rolling his eyes, Kai grabbed the bowl out of Suho's hands and set it down on the man's lap, grabbing Chanyeol's shoulders and turning him perpendicularly.
"Wait, what are-"
"Shut up, you're taking too long." Kai growled with annoyance. Before Chanyeol could even protest, Kai pushed his chest so that he was leaning backwards, directing his head towards the paper bowl. Suho lifted his arms awkwardly, looking down at the boy as he made room.
"Kai!" Chanyeol complained as the cold sludge seeped nearer to his scalp.
"Calm down, it's just glue. You'll be fine. Did the trial clear?" Looking to her phone, she nodded. "Alright, let's keep going then."

All My Idols Ch 29: Left Behind
“Are you ready?” Seungri yells over the speakers, deafening a few people with his energetic voice. I chuckle from my spot at the bar, sipping my drink while he has the time of his life. The club is completely packed with screaming people dancing like fools on the floor. I honestly want to join the crowd in their drunken stupors but someone has to stay sober to watch Seungri other wise things will get crazy. Regret on not allowing the others to come slowly fills me as I watch Ri make his way from the DJ booth back to me, downing shot after shot that was offered to him. I set my drink down, this one is enough for me I guess. “Are you ready to try a little dancing?”
I shake my head, “I’m not dancing with you Oppa, you would make feel ashamed for even standing next to you.”
“Come on,” He whines pulling by my hands. “I promise to be gentle with you.”
“Okay, but if you mess my ankle you are going to be the one explaining it to the others and anyone else who asks.”
He nods eagerly, “Whatever it takes!”
I sigh but push myself up from my seat and follow him onto the packed dance floor. It’s been too long since I’ve been to a club and tired to dance sober. The movements don’t come easily and with Seungri holding on to me, moving like the dancer he is. He senses my distress and can easily figure out what is wrong, he reaches behind me and catches a waitress passing through the crowd. I scoff as he grabs as many shots as he can. He manages to get three in each hand, offering a hand full to me.
“You look like you need some dancing juice,” He urges me to take one.
“Oppa, I’m the sober one, remember?” I yell in his ear over the music.
“We don’t need a sober one, you’ve got me, I’ve got you, sober or trashed, we will take care of each other, right?”
I know I should disagree but I haven’t been able to have fun with Seungri for a long time, I smile and take the shots, “I’ve got you.”
“Woo!” We shout together downing the shots. It doesn’t take much to get the warm feeling in my belly, my body starts to loosen up. I unwind my shoulders and slowly get my hips moving to the beat.
“That’s my girl,” Seungri moves behind me, his hands find my hips and he pulls me close so our bodies are pressed tightly together. I laugh when he grabs my hand and spins me out away from him before pulling me back to where I began. His arm now rests against my bare stomach, still holding my hand and I assume to keep me from getting away. Others around us begin moving the same as time flies by, their hips swing like ours, arms above their heads as they let the music and crowd take control of where their body goes. The crowd seems to get thicker and the grinding of bodies more intense. I feel every detail of Seungri’s body pressed up against my back, I can imagine the guy in front of me feels the same but he doesn’t seem to mind at all.
He spins around, a cocky grin on his face when he lays his eyes on me, completely forgetting the girl he was grinding on a moment ago. The moment his hands reach for me Seungri pushes the guy away with so much force that the man knocks over the girl behind him along with another man. The blonde man holding me flips me around so we are pressed chest to, his leg in between mine and mine in between his, still moving together. His arm now resting along my shoulders, my face is pressed against his shoulder, for a brief moment I think it’s to console me for the almost groping he stopped but I’m wrong. A string of cuss words leaves his mouth, surprising me and scaring away the stranger.
I stiffen in his hold, my hands rest against his chest, confused on what I should do. I’ve never seen Seungri actually mad, I’m hoping it’s just the alcohol in his system taking over making his usual child like personality more amplified. But when I push away and see his face I see that yet again, I’m wrong. His face is set in stone, angry features carved in, scaring away anyone that would try to come up behind me.
“Oppa?” I say, worried.
He looks down at me, dropping the scary face for a moment, “Sorry Charlie, I just don’t want anyone trying to feel you up or something.”
“Maybe we should go, I don’t want to ruin the good night we had with you getting into a fight.”
He is about to argue when he looks at his watch, “Shit it’s past two already, we’ve been dancing for almost two hours. I guess we could go sit down and hang out for a little while, I don’t want to bring you back yet.”
I know I should tell him to bring me back to the hotel but I feel guilty, “Of course Oppa, let s find a nice booth and sit down.” He eagerly leads me away from the crowd to the VIP area behind one of those velvet ropes. Seungri takes me up the horribly lit stairs, sweetly making sure I don’t trip on the steps, and quickly finds a booth that looks over the dance floor..
“You sit down and rest, I’m going to run down to the bar to grab us some drinks and say hi to a friend I noticed,” He yells in my ear.
I nod and scoot into the half circle booth. He disappears the way we came from for a moment before popping out back on the dance floor. I watch as he approaches the bar and a pretty Asian woman I’ve never seen before. He places his hand on her lower back and smiles at her, obviously hitting on her. She turns to him, a scowl obvious on her beautiful face even in the darkness. Her eyes scan the dance floor, she gestures in the direction of where we had been dancing and huffs. With her hands on her hips it’s easy to tell that she’s upset about something and I feel like it has something to do with me. He caresses her arm and gives her another smile, of course she caves, who could say no to Seungri’s handsome smile. A snicker escapes my lips.
“Did he just use me to make a girl jealous?” I wonder to myself. “I wish he would have told me, I would have made more of an effort.” I watch bored as they flirt back and forth for a few minutes, I’m surprised when he actually orders something from the bartender, maybe he hasn’t forgotten about me. To be honest I would only be upset that he is trying to pick up women because of how big of he deal he made about us getting our own night out. Seunghyun almost murdered him because of all of his whining, I agreed to avoid blood shed and because he is right. We haven’t been able to go out to lunch or dinner or have a night in since I went public, I’ve missed his energy even though I see him at home, it’s different when it’s just the two of us.
His childish personality is still there but with a hint of maturity when he pays for meals or little trinkets he buys me. I love seeing the confidence on his face when I hide behind him during a scary movie or when I rest my head on his shoulder. I love how little things like that make him feel so good. I watch on with a small smile as he flirts and flaunts his stuff, no longer feeling abandoned, just happy that he is having fun.
I don’t notice the three men creeping up on my booth, drinks in hand, lost in their own conversation, just trying to find an empty table. Instead the familiar men find me, “Charlie?”
I snap out of my daze and scan the three men, one who has since changed out of his fancy suit, “Oppas?”
Tao beams at me, “What are you doing here all by yourself? Can we join you?” He looks about ready to jump in the booth before the others have a chance to take the spot on either side of me.
“I’m with Seungri oppa, he went to get drinks but he got distracted by an old friend,” I point down at the bar where Seungri is now sipping on a drink with the woman.
“She’s a model,” Kris notes studying the woman, “I can’t think of her name but she’s pretty popular.”
“Ooo,” I click my tongue once again, “Get it Oppa,” I cheer from where I sit.
“So you two aren’t dating or anything?” Luhan asks with his brows up.
“I’m completely single,” I clarify.
“Does that mean these seats are open?” Tao asks again.
“Tao,” Kris elbows his young friend, “Could we keep you company until your friend returns?”
I hum, eyeing Seungri once more, deciding he is so focused on the beauty in front of him he would be distracted long enough for me to talk to my new friends, “Yes.”
That is all Tao needed to fly into the booth, basically sitting on my lap when he lands, “I was hoping we would run into you again!”
“Me too,” Luhan hums taking the spot on my other side while Kris slides in next to Tao.
In my buzzed state of mind I eye up Tao and voice something that occurred to me earlier, “You are a lot different than I expected.”
He cocks his head, his smile fades, “What do you mean?”
“Not anything bad, you are just a lot cuter. I had this idea in my head that you were this cool guy with a badass attitude, but you are really cute,” I smile at him.
“Well, I am a badass,” He points out as he lowers his voice an octave and straightens his voice.
“Yea, sure you are,” I laugh.
“Could I get you anything to drink?” Kris offers, “Since your other drink will be a moment.”
“Ah, sure, but remember boys, the minute Seungri oppa shows up you gotta go, it’s our night tonight,” I remind them.
They nod, “Of course.”
We talk for awhile, a lot longer than I thought we would, not that I mind it’s just that I was expecting Seungri to return before Kris did with my first drink, but no. It’s been twenty five minutes exactly, I give him more and more time because he seems to be enjoying talking to his friend but when I look down for him, like I’ve been doing every couple minutes, he is gone. I wait a few more, maybe he’s coming up the stair, but nothing. Worry settles in the pit of my stomach. I pull out my phone and text him.
“Is something wrong?” Luhan wonders when I don’t answer one of his questions.
“Seungri oppa should have been back by now, I can’t see him and it’s getting late,” I stare at my phone impatiently.
“Seungri walked out with that model a few minutes ago,” Kris tells me.
“What?”
He repeats himself but it doesn’t make anymore sense than it did the first time.
“That’s impossible, it’s our night out tonight, he wouldn’t just leave me here,” That feeling of abandonment settles in my stomach, replacing my worry, making me feel sick. I quickly dial his number and hold the phone to my ear. He doesn’t answer the first time, worry returns until he answers my second call.
“What?” He snaps in a tone he’s never used with me.
“Oppa?” I question for a moment, not believing it’s actually him.
“I said what.”
“Where did you go? You went for our drinks and never came back.”
“Yea, took you a half hour to figure it out? I’m not surprised,” A slur is obvious in his voice. “You had someone new to talk to, like always, it’s not like it mattered that I was gone, some body filled my empty seat. Pretty quick I might add.”
“What the hell is wrong with you?” I snap, any worry I have gone.
“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you?” He actually yells back at me. I take the phone away from my ear and stare down at it, questioning if I called the right person but his name glows on my phone with a picture of us in the background hugging and smiling.
“Oppa, are you okay? Is something wrong? Did I do something to make you upset?” I whimper out, tears pricking my eyes.
“Yes! You keep adding more and more people, like we aren’t enough for you, you have to be friends with everyone! You can find your own way home right?” He doesn’t even give me a chance to respond, “Yes! Of course you can, you are the princess! Everyone loves you and you have to love everyone in return! It’s fine, it’s not like I care,” He hangs up. I pause there for a moment, completely dumbstruck.
“Charlie?” Luhan places a hand on my shoulder when a tear falls down my cheek.
“What happened?” Tao worries.
Kris leans in as well, “Are you okay?”
I gulp and set my phone down, turning it off in the process, “I’m fine,” I lie.
“You are crying, you are obviously not okay, where did Seungri go? Do we need to find him?” Kris quickly offers.
“Do you want to know what I actually really need?”
They all nod.
“Shots.”
“What?”
“I was just told by one of my closest friends that he is mad at me because he thinks I’m replacing him or that he isn’t enough for me and I don’t want to deal with his upset drunk ass at our hotel right now and if I wake up the others they will cause a scene, I don’t want to deal with that,” I explain with a heart breaking smile.
“This won’t solve anything,” Luhan tells me, pulling my drink away from me.
“You are very right,” I acknowledge, “But I’m not looking to solve the problem, I’m planning on drinking until I forget that I’m mad or that I don’t care about what happens when I go back. You don’t have to stay and watch me be sad, feel free to go, I promise to be more fun and happy next time we meet.”
“I have no where to be, so hope you are ready for a good time,” Tao swipes my drink away from the older and offers it back to me with a smile.
Two Hours Later
I barely manage to open the room door but once I do I kick it open with one of my wobbly legs. My fog filled mind keeps me on a nice high until I see a familiar figure passed out on the couch. Memories from a few hours ago come into my mind, Seungri leaving me basically alone at a bar, decently buzzed and in a forgien country where I barely speak the language. His harsh drunken words and my heart feels heavy again with both anger and sadness. How could he have just left me? No matter how angry he is we promised each other, we got each other.
I drop my heels that I’ve been carrying since Luhan had sweetly dropped me off at the front of the hotel, “Oppa!” I half cry and yell. Tears are streaming down my face as I let the slam behind me. “Oppa!” In drunken anger I chuck my phone at him with all my might, hitting him on the back, waking him enough to roll off the couch and onto the marble floor.
“Ah!” He groans.
“You asshole!” I snarl, “You fucking left me!”
“Charlie?” Youngbae shuffles into the living room in a pair of sweat pants and no shirt. Daesung is on his heels in the same attire. Both of them squinting in the darkness. The older flips on the lights scanning both Seungri and I in the new light.
“What in the world is going on?” Daesung rushes over to me when he sees that I’m crying.
“What the hell?” Seungri groans as he sits back on his ass, his eyes still closed.
“I was going to ask you that,” Youngbae nudges the youngest with his foot.
“I was passed out when Charlie stormed in and stared fucking bawling.”
There is a brief moment of silence before the older kicks him on to his back a bit less gentle than before, “Why the hell were you passed out on the couch when she is just getting home?” Youngbae snarls.
“Umm…” Seungri’s voice is shaky as he tries to sit back up but is stopped by the older’s foot.
“You have five seconds to answer me before I wake up Jiyong and Seunghyun.”
“He left me!” I snap, still crying against Daesung’s shoulder.
Seungri scrambles away from Youngbae and puts the other couch in between them. But from the look the older is giving him I don’t think God himself could protect him.
“You left her?” Daesung repeats.
“It’s not like I just abandoned her!” He tries to defend himself, “I left her with those boys who left EXO.”
“You left her with three men we don’t know when she was drunk?”
“You guys are making it so much worse than it is! It’s not like anyone would hurt her, she’s the princess after all. Everyone loves her!” He spits.
“You’re right she is the princess, which means she has fans just like us, fans that could try and take her because they love her so much. It also means there are crazy stalker fans who don’t like her because she is the princess. Do you have any idea of what could have happened to her if she didn’t have someone watching her? She could have gotten lost in a foreign country, she could have gotten into a really bad situation because of some petty reason.”
“How do you know it’s petty? Maybe she did something wrong!”
Youngbae scoffs, “Okay, what did she do to make you leave her?”
The youngest puffs his pink cheeks, tears beginning to form in his own eyes, “She made new friends on our special night out!”
Youngbae pause for a brief moment before sighing, “I’m getting the others.”
I’m feeling better today! Incase you didn’t see, I was sick for a few days so that’s why I haven’t been posting. I have to work tomorrow so I don’t know if I’ll have much energy to write when I get off but I promise one on Thursday work and a long nap! Have a good night!

HOME - Finally (LAY, PT.9) [CHRONICLES OF THE WOLF SERIES

Final part to the Yixing arc! Who will we see next time? :)
If you like it, support it on ko-fi!
-
All day he was on edge. He knew his packmates noticed, because it was visible in how the calmest member of the pack was pacing around the living room or trying to busy himself in the kitchen. His eyes always seemed to go to the clock, checking it for the time. Why did time go so slowly when his mate wasn't around?
"It's just how it works, hyung..."
Chanyeol stood from the table, having finished with the snack Yixing had managed to prepare in his anxious state.
"What?"
"When your mate is away."
"Agreed," Minseok added, sighing. "When I was away from Haneul, all I could think about was how much I wanted to see her and how fast I could get there."
Yixing sighed. "I'm fine."
"Does she know?"
Yixing turned to Minseok at the straight question. "H-huh?"
"It might help if she actually... knew."
Yixing groaned. "I know, hyung..."
-
"How to say again?" You pointed to the bag in your hand, and Bom smiled.
"Shopping?"
"Ah, shopping..." You turned to Luhan. "I'm excited to tell Yixing."
Luhan chuckled. "I'm sure. You seem to have had a lot of fun today."
Soomi must've heard you say Yixing's name because she was leaning over to ask Luhan a question. You managed to pick up 'Yixing' and 'tell'.
"Tell what?" you asked with a smile.
Soomi turned to smile at you, her mouth opening to say something, but Luhan covered it quickly so she couldn't. Her wolfish partner smiled at you, shaking his head.
"She asked if I would tell Yixing to let you go shopping just with the girls sometimes." You looked at Soomi, happy and surprised at the same time.
"Really?! You want me go again?!"
Soomi raised an eyebrow at Luhan for his interjection, but it seemed to placate her anyway. "Come with us again," she offered.
You couldn't quite pick up every word, but you managed enough, and you nodded happily. "Yes!"
You walked along, and Bom snickered at Luhan, to which you tried not to be nosy. She said something which you didn't quite get, so you minded your own business until all of you managed to break through the mass of trees.
"Ahh~ Home~"
That you understood. And as much as you enjoyed your trip with everyone, you couldn't help but echo the sentiment. Your home.
Where Yixing was.
Speaking of him, you could already see him through the window of the kitchen, washing the dishes after something. When he heard Bom laughing at something what Soomi said, his whole body tensed in concentration and he looked up, his eyes immediately finding yours. You smiled, and he returned it, drying his hands off and disappearing in the house. Most probably to come and save Luhan from all the bags he was holding.
You saw the two men exchange a tense glance before Yixing was disappearing back into the kitchen with armfuls of bags.
Your bottom lip poked out. He didn't even say anything to you.
"Xing..?"
You moved to follow him, unsure why Bom and Soomi ducked away with guilty looks when you smiled and told them thanks. Luhan just grinned, but he didn't stop you.
Just when you made it into the kitchen, you ran into Chanyeol, who looked like he was trying to make a quick getaway. Minseok right behind him.
"Oh! Hello!"
"H-hello!" the two echoed awkwardly.
"Umm.." your uncertain voice had Minseok stopping in his tracks to turn back to you.
"Yixing is...there?" You pointed back at the kitchen and Minseok smiled, nodding.
"Yes, he is..."
"Is he...okay?" Minseok nodded again.
"Don't worry, ___. Go to him..." with that, he was turning away, going upstairs. Chanyeol gave you an uncertain grin, before following his older brother, leaving you shaky in front of the kitchen.
You took a deep breath, you went in, immediately looking for Yixing, who was putting away all the groceries you bought.
"Yixing?" Your voice was quiet, almost scared. The wolf sighed, finished putting away the last thing in his hands, before turning to you.
"Are you okay, Xing? What's-"
"___....we need to talk."
That shook you. That didn't sound good, and the creases on his forehead didn't help.
"Talk... about what?"
Luhan walked into the kitchen with the rest of the bags, and Yixing nodded to him before walking to you. He said nothing, just grabbed your hand and led you away before anyone else could say anything to you.
When you two made it up the stairs and down the hallway, he sighed loudly, and the slight squeak of his door as he opened it made you doubly nervous.
"What's happening..?" you mumbled.
"___... Have I ever told you what Soomi is to Luhan..? Or what Bom is to Kris..?"
You shook your head in confusion. "Partners? Uhh... wives..?"
Yixing shook his head.
"They're mates." Yixing clarified, sitting down on the bed, running a hand through his hair nervously.
"M-mates?" You stuttered, leaning back against the door. That sounds very...animallistic. And permanent.
"Yes. Every wolf has one. A mate just for them, who will be their life partner and they'll live the rest of their lives with them..." Yixing smiled at the thought and you frowned, feeling your heart flutter in uncertainty.
"And...you...you found yours?" Yixing smiled at the floor fondly.
"I have."
Your stomach dropped, and you managed to stabilize your wobbly knees to walk over to him. You sat down beside him on the bed stiffly.
"Y-you... have..."
In your head, you thought you should probably feel bad for how you've been acting with him, how you've been... feeling around him... Because if it wasn't you, then there was a lot wrong with the picture.
But you didn't.
And you weren't sure if you should feel bad for that or not.
Because for some inexplicable reason, you wanted to be her. You wanted to be the one to be with this wolf.
You wanted to be Yixing's mate.
You blinked at the realization, and Yixing glanced over at you. "___?"
"Can it... be me..?"
Yixing's eyes bulged wide, and he literally slipped off the bed to the floor. With a gasp, you reached for him.
"Yixing..!"
He reached for you, and your legs automatically parted to make room for him to scoot on his knees between them. His hands reached up to cup your cheeks.
"What did you say?"
"Can I-..? I mean... C-can I... be your mate..?"
Yixing took a deep breath. "___... It's not up to me, exactly..."
You nearly sobbed at the way your chest clenched painfully. You looked away, anywhere but at him. "I'll- Wh-what do I have to do? Just... tell me..."
"___, no."
Your eyes glossed with tears, no matter how much you bit them back. "N-no?"
Yixing's panic was instant. "Baobei, no. That's not what I meant!"
"A-and then...how do you mean it?" You looked at him, tears already rolling down your cheeks. Was he going to make an excuse? That you were just a fill-in until his mate came? That he didn't really mean it with you?
"Baobei..." Yixing chuckled, wiping your tears away. He was still looking at you with that look of disbelief, as if you just sprouted a second head on your shoulders.
"You misunderstood, I..." Yixing laughed again, and unable to control himself, he pulled you down for a kiss.
"You are my mate, ___..."
"I... am..?"
Your tears were still flowing.
Yixing gave a nod, brushing his thumbs over to stop the stream of tears. "Yes. You are. And... I can't even tell you how happy I am that you want to be my mate... Y-you-..." He frowned. "I thought you were gonna panic..."
You blinked, and he had more tears to push away. "I am panicking..."
His laugh was both amused and tense. "Baobei... You still have the choice, of course. Always. But you are my mate. You are the one I'm destined to be with."
"I...I just don't know what it means..." you murmured, holding onto his hands.
"Don't know what? What a mate is?" Yixing offered, but you shook your head.
"No...how...how to be a mate. A great one." You chuckled, wiping at the tears falling down your cheeks.
"So you won't run away for a better one."
Yixing burst out into peals of laughter, and for a moment, you weren't sure whether to be offended or not. "Wh-what?"
"No, nothing..." He climbed back onto the bed, tugging you over his lap comfortably as he settled in the middle. "I'm not gonna run away to find another. You're it, baobei..."
"B-but what if-..." Your eyebrows knitted. "What if I'm horrible for you..?"
Yixing shook his head. "It's an instinct. We've had... stranger pairings, believe me, and they've still ended up perfect for each other."
You shook your head, determined. "I want to be a good mate for you."
His eyes were full of adoration as he stared at you, cupping your cheek softly.
"You will be." He whispered softly, his thumb stroking the skin under your eye.
"You'll be the most perfect mate for me. You are, baobei..." he pulled you in to kiss your lips just briefly, just a simple peck that had you wanting to lean in for more.
"The only thing I need for you is to be here for me...because I went without you for so long, I want to catch up to all the wasted time."
"H-how long have you waited for me?"
"Years... and years and years..." Yixing whispered, kissing you between each word. "But you were worth the wait..."
Your cheeks heated. "I suppose..."
"You were," he laughed. "Besides, I didn't have to fight you every step of the way..."
"Did the other mates fight their wolves?" You asked, settling against Yixing more comfortably now. He was your mate, after all. He nodded, brushing a stray strand out of your face.
"Some even are...and I don't think I would be able to fight you like Tao does, or how Kris hyung is able to deal with Bom sometimes..." he murmured and you brushed your thumb against the adorable dimple that formed on his cheek.
"I'll try my best not to be a problem to you..."
"They're not a problem, ___..." he said with a smile. "It's just... more rocky of a relationship. And it would never be a problem with you, either. Don't ever feel like you can't tell me something because you're afraid we'll fight."
You nodded in understanding. "Right..."
"___?" He pushed your face up by your chin, still smiling. "Promise me."
"I promise..." you said with a giggle.
He returned your smile, pecking your lips.
"Good." He whispered before leaning in again and kissing you once more, more passionately this time. You sighed in relief, holding onto him as Yixing's hands stroked down your back gently, caringly. He kissed you like it was your first time, the sparks of excitement dwelling in your belly when you moved your hand up to cup his cheek, shyly nipping at his lower lip.
This meant you had permission, right? To be with Yixing however you wanted. Without the worry of wondering if what you were doing was okay, if it was moving too fast.
"Xing..?"
He hummed against your mouth. "Yes, my mate..?"
Your stomach fluttered at that. His mate. No wonder you always felt right with him; no wonder you never felt guilty about how you felt around him, no matter how short a time you've known him.
You shook your head, just wrapping your arms around his neck and kissing him even deeper, pressing up against him.
Yixing growled against your lips, making you squeal as he pushed you down on the bed, rumbling with appreciation as je settled between your legs as if he belonged there all along. You couldn't help the small mewl that left your lips when you felt him press against you, giving you all kind of perfect sensations.
"My perfect mate..." Yixing grumbled as his lips trailed over your neck, hands sliding up your shirt, dangerously close to your breasts. You closed your eyes, licking your lips in bliss as you leaned back and offered him more.
"Hyung, can you-Oh god!"
There was a dramatic cry from the younger wolf who'd managed to walk in, and while you were burying your face into Yixing's chest to avoid more embarrassment, you could've sworn it sounded like Sehun.
Yixing sighed and leaned down to kiss the crown of your head before he was scooting off the bed to go to the door. He clicked it shut, and this time there was an extra click of the lock.
"Knock next time!" Yixing just chuckled before moving back to return to you on the bed.
"Yixing..." you whined in complaint.
"It's okay. They should know better," he mumbled, back to kissing your cheeks. "But I'm sorry to you, baobei..."
You shook your head. You thought of saying something more, but there were other pressing matters at hand, such like kissing Yixing again and clumsily climbing over into his lap. The wolf approved by the deep rumble in his chest, his arms winding around you and holding you close to him as his lips slanted over yours, kissing you deeply. You sighed in bliss, your fingers tightening their hold at Yixing's locks when you felt his hot hands slide under your shirt and up your back, reaching to play with your bra strap.
He rumbled against you, as if in question, and you arched up into his hold in answer. Which he took as permission because he nimbly undid the hook that held it closed. You felt the material loosen around you, and Yixing's hand slipped to the front and under the wire to cup one breast with purpose. The pads of his fingers swiped over a nipple, and you mewled against his mouth.
"Yixing..."
Yixing hummed. "Yes, baobei..."
You wriggled, fists bunching his shirt together and tugging gently.
He chuckled roughly, and you gave a happy gasp when he slipped it over his head. Muscle and pale skin exposed for your touch.
You followed his example quickly, your own shirt joining his on the floor, making Yixing growl.
"Baobei..." he rumbled with appreciation, sliding off your bra as well so he could look over your form. His look made you heat up instantly, and you reached for him, plastering your front against his and kissing him deeply.
Yixing growled, and his hands drifted up and down the length of your bare back, making you shudder.
"I can't believe someone else saw you..." he rumbled.
You became flustered for another reason, nose nuzzling against Yixing's cheek in embarrassment.
His mouth landed on your shoulder, and you moved into the kisses. Possessive and sweet. "We'll have to take extra care not to let that happen again. You belong to me. Only I should see you like this..."
His hands drifted down to your ass, and he heaved up, making you squeak as Yixing splayed you over his bed. Automatically, he wrapped your legs around his hips, staring down at your half-naked state with red, almost hungry eyes.
Yixing never looked so much as a werewolf before. It was all raw, passionate energy, gathered in the strong supernatural body now poised above you like a predator would loom over his caught prey.
You shuddered when you saw the flash of red in his eyes, and as if realizing, he blinked it away, shaking his head.
"Yixing..." you whispered, hands stroking up his sides as you arched up. "Kiss me again, please..."
His eyes flashed down at you, blinking as if in shock. "Oh, baobei..."
He leaned down, kissing you gently, and you cupped his cheeks with a smile. "The red..."
He frowned. "It happens sometimes... I didn't wanna scare you."
"It doesn't scare me," you were quick to point out, kissing him again.
"Not when it's you..." you murmured and Yixing chuckled, settling more against you. His elbows framed your head and his hips pressed tightly into yours, making you gasp. He smiled softly, watching your eyes haze over at the feeling. His mate looked so pretty, spread on his bed just like this. He wanted to do more, he needed to do more, but he was sure he needed to take it slow, especially after this morning.
"Baobei..."
Your eyes blinked at him, glossed with anticipation. But he frowned as he smoothed a hand over your cheek.
"I know... how much I must be throwing at you..." He eased up, and he was glad to hear your whine of disappointment. "But I wouldn't want to rush anything... This morning already-..."
He had to cut off. Because thinking of it while he had you in prime position for a repeat performance just made this more torturous.
"B-but... as your mate-..." You hesitated, and Yixing shook his head.
"As my mate, we have all the time in the world..."
He gave you a brilliant dimpled smile.
You returned it, reaching up to cup his cheek.
"My mate..." you said in awe, stroking his cheek with your thumb. Yixing growled, leaning down to nuzzle into your neck.
"Yours..." he agreed, peppering kisses up your neck so he could peck your lips one last time. He was then leaning back, reaching for your shirt so you could put it on.
"I can hear Haerin coming down here. She probably wants to talk to you, so we better get dressed..."
You dressed quickly, tugging clothes into place. When Haerin's knock came, you were only fiddling with your hair. Yixing pulled the door open with a smile.
"Oh! Hello, oppa. Sorry if I'm interrupting something..."
Yixing shook his head. "Not at all. Were you looking for ___?"
Haerin nodded, smiling at his mate unsurely. "Umm... I just wanted to be sure unnie was okay..?"
Yixing nodded, and he turned to you to translate.
"Ahh. Fine!" you told her. "Everything good!"
She giggled. "That's good... Oppa..?" She looked at Yixing. "Are you... okay?"
He nodded. "I told her," he explained. "She knows now."
Haerin's eyes widened. "Oppa!"
And it took just a second for her to rush over to you and bear hug you. She was squealing something into your ear, but you couldn't understand any of it, so you just looked at Yixing hopelessly, who was smiling brightly.
"She's happy you know." He explained to you, before he turned to Jongdae who came to inspect on the sudden commotion. When he heard of the news as well, he turned to look at you with a small grin.
"Welcome to the family then, ___. Congratulations." He said in your tongue, and you smiled, nodded your thanks, and squeezed Haerin right back.
This, after two weeks of travelling, felt like home.

OC/Kai fanfic Closure
Here I am sitting in front of my laptop. My room is a little colder than normal, maybe it's just me. I crushed my phone and locked my door. Now is the time to stop runnig away from my past. I'm a little tipsy but my mind is clear enougth to see my keyboard and the word page on my screen. I need to learn from my memories, from all the wrong and good choices I made, what it could have been and what it was. I'll write everything in a vain attempt to keep these memories forever and I don't want to forget... I'm afraid to do the same error as in the past. I stared at my wrists, the little scars fading across the pale skin, then at my fingers, they looked weird from all the nail bitting, an habbit I picked up from him, it's weird thinking I'm tiping my story starting from so far back .
Bakc then, I was still weirded out by all the new things going on all around me. It had been weeks since we started high school, and I was always alone, you know not popular and lonely. I didn't even try to get along with the poeple in my classes but well it's hard to fit in when all the groups are already made even more so when you're like me, I kinda through they would come talk to me you know? I'm shy... Whatever, I quit my old middle school for this high school where was my older brother and since I missed some of the first days (because I’m dumb and thought it was a few days later), it was too late to make friends. Well it's true I didn't like being this way but it was still better than being bullied, perhaps I was blessed to be ignored at first. Well I didn't stay alone too long since about three weeks later I was suddently inside a group, some "bad influence" they would say but they really weren't. Just a bunch of depressed teens burrying their issues under alcool, weed and cigarettes; it's really something you see everywere around here. Of course I had never seen people like that before but it was just because all my life untill then, I was in a private catholic establishment, and it really does explain everything.
Did I say I admired my brother? Junmyeon-hyung had always been my role model,he's much more out going and handsome than me! I'm so lucky to have such a brother who accepted me for who I was. I'm bisexual and I've known that since middle schools days, you know my mother was really open minded and very supportive of me; she even tried to talk to my father for me. But he didn't want a daugther like that and I never really got to talk with him and ever since we had some big arguments about it, the type where hurtful words are trown in every directions ending with us being a eatch other throats. My brother was the one who aways stoped us. I'm kinda weak but I'd never say it out loud. I couldn't help but be jealous of my brother when they went out, jealous of the perfect father-son relationship they had. But I would never hate my father or my brother. I hope one day my father will accept me and for now my mother and brother are enough.
It was at our third classe of biologie when he first talked to me, the teacher had warned us to take our blouse for today. Looking down a the sprailed corps of some sort of frog waiting to be cut. I took a thin blade and started poking it inside the flesh of the little animal's stomach. I didn't even know what I was doing and the boy rigth next to me started laughing... I was then startled by the one behind me when he lightly tapped my shoulder. It may have been the first human contact (other than family) I had in weeks to be honest . He was a little short but still taller than me and he smelled like he had just smoked even through his face screamed innocence. Then, as if I didn't have a tiny embarassing heart attack, he explained me the 'how to' do what the teacher asked without having to make the frog into the mess I wasn't aware I caused. He finished with a smirk on his face making him looking a tad arrogant... Way to make someone feel stupid...
"If you're so good you should be surgeon, must be funny cuting open people as a job." I said to him half serious half joking. Then I may have sent him a death glare because, well, he annoyed me. My pride kicked in every so often making me very hard to talk to. Must be why I didn't have friends. Then again, I'm probably asociable by nature.
"Wow, you really sounded like a psyco you know?" then he bursted laughing. He was a funny felow. I was mildly surprised at the outburst and my eyes probably went wide making him laugth even more. His laughter was infectuous, so obviously, I followed his example and laugthed with him. We made small talks over the dead frog between us untill the end of the class.
He was called Kai, well that's what he told me, in reality his name was Jongin but he think Kai is cooler. It's the type of guy you don't see everywhere. You meet someone like him only once in a lifetime then you do your best to never forget. He looked like the average popular kid at first sight, really, you wouldn't know his mind is like a fucking death trap or a maze at best if you only saw his cute perfect face... and he's more of a nerd than a popular kid really.
After biologie he presented me to his friend Yifan, a tall guy ,a really tall guy well if that count as presenting when you scream I JUST MET THIS GIRL AND SHE'S A PSYCOPATH COME HERE in a corridor between two classes... Only then he remembered that of course he hadn't asked my name... Or maybe he did remember but just didn't care?
Kay surprisingly took interest in me in an experimental way. I just went with it. What could possibly go wrong ? haha. Soon we started to get closer and he pushed me inside his group of friends he already knew from middle school. In the circle there was Yifan and Baekyun alias the tall and the smart one ( I just found him anoying, he's a little bit of a smartass) they were also in our class wich made me happy, then there was 'Xiumin' everyone called him that, so much that I forgot his real name, after him came Yixing, Luhan, and 'Channie' his name was Chanyeol but it was fun calling him Channie so we settled for that name and to be true to myself I found him really attractive. The problem was that this group was only composed by guys. With me being the only girl in there... I went thourgh hell in my last town, every days people would give me dirty looks, call me by harsh words behind my back, trow things at me and mostly ignore my existence hence the reason why I had to change high school. It hurt to be judged by hyppocrite and it was still okay. But since here no one knows, it can't be helped and I wouldn't be held responsible for hidding that tiny detail.
I didn't have any idea how long I could keep the lie going but I was willing to do so for has long as I could. But of course life is a bitch. I was starting to fall for Channie, he was straight and was already in a long distance relationship with some 2 years older girl so I knew he was out of reach and maybe, just maybe that's why I fell for him. Maybe I believed it could stay something innocent and I through I knew how to controle myself... Back then I was rather naive I never really loved anyone just tiny crush here and there. It was like I lived in a cocoon all these years, I mean I had never smoked, drank or skiped classes voluntarily and I didn't go out since I didn't have friends, in short my world wasn't much more than my familly, the classes and the bullying. But I mastered the skill of fake smiles and hadn't cried ever since my only friend Tito (my hamster) died by the start of middle school.
So shocked is a weak word to define how I felt when I first came to this new high school. Everyone was smoking and I could tell it wasn't just cigarettes. Everyone were in front of the gates making little groups, blocking the way and puffing on their stick of cancer. And I can't even describe how I felt when I spotted my own brother smoking within one of those small groups! He told me it was okay that he didn't smoke that mutch and to keep it secret from our parents. I did just that but not without a long sermon about the bad side of smoking and the risks. After a few months I came to an understanding, here smoking meant having a social life. Even the one who didn't smoke carried a lighter just to lit others peoples cigarettes. Smoking became the norm since they were way fewer people who didn't than people who did. I started smoking weed but only during parties and when Kai wasn't watching, he didn't want me to smoke.
Kai seemed to think I didn't know shit about the world and that I was the happiest person alive. I couldn't have denied that I was enjoying the time we spend together because It became the happiest time of my life. He made me think I wouldn't be able to live without him. But did he want to make me feel that way ? I still wonder, maybe it was just me who needed him all along. That wouldn't surprise me. Anyway, everything he and his friends did made me more and more atracted, but the way they smoked all the time was making me worried over their health, they used to hug me to make me shut up. I swear to god they smoked at least two packs a day. But the way he was with me was different from how he was with his friends, he made me feel like I was so special, so much more important to him. He made me believe I was the only one he could trust.
I would always tell him to stop smoking and that it was bad for his health and I guess we did argue a lot about that. He never listened to me, told me it wasn't my buisness, that I should mind my own and leave him the fuck alone. After four months I stopped nagging him. I knew why he was wasting his life away. He told me. Even if I couln'd understand, even if it didn't make sense to me. He trusted me. Only me.
Because he was broken. He was a sad depressed fuck ruined by his mind and his family. Every week he went to see a psychologue and went to the tribunal. His father his a fucker who left his mother after cheating on her, leaving her with him, his little brother, 5 years younger with autism; and no money to help. But fuck it. His mother broke down. She's a druggie who won't even give two flying fuck about her sons. Of course he's too young to be alowed to do anything. But the thing is that he doesn't fucking care. He tried to kill his father and threatened him with a knife which is why he goes to the tribunal every week, which is why keep bitting his fingers untill they bleed, which is why he smoke untill his lungs burn and his troath is raw screaming at him, making him forget about the world for just a little while. And that's why I don't tell him to stop anymore. Even through it hurt me to see him wither away. Because I can't do anything. If only I knew how to save Kai, if only.
I was happy, happy to know him, happy but so, oh so scared to lose it all... Once he said to me "What esle is there to do but to enjoy what we have now?" It was like he already knew how everything was going to end and he couldn't have been more right. Nothing last forever I knew but still hoped for more. And I shouldn't have because all I did was mistakes.
The last thing he told me was "I knew it wouldn't last. But this was faster than expected."
He died too soon and he killed me in the process.
I still don't what could have been done, where was the mistakes. No mather how much I search for it, nothing.
Maybe it's time for me to understand there are some things you can't do anything about. It wasn't my fault.
Everyday like a mantra I keep telling myself it wasn't my fault.

[ Yixing | Step by Step ]
\ Destiny
-
You woke up completely relaxed. You never felt so rested than this, you figured you must've slept for about twelve hours. The source of the feeling of calm and safety came from the hand buried in your hair, fingers still gently massaging your scalp. You squeezed the object in your hand and with a start, fingers squeezed back, and you realized in the middle of your slumber you must've grabbed his hand.
"Yixing?..." you asked quietly, looking up at the werewolf fast asleep, head lolled to the side in an uncomfortable position.
You sat up with a bit of effort, trying not to disturb him. With a frown, you pulled the pillow you'd been sleeping on and maneuvered around him to try and tuck the thing under his head. He looked uncomfortable; you at least wanted to reposition him. But in your effort to be sneaky and gentle, your muscles denied you and you toppled awkwardly into Yixing's lap.
Yixing woke up with a start, his hands instinctively sliding over your thighs to stabilize you. You eeped when the rich amber eyes looked at you in confusion but still visible content. A quiet growl rumbled through his chest and his hands squeezed appreciatively before he caught a grip on himself.
"___?" He whispered, his voice deliciously thick with sleep.
"S-sorry!" You held up the pillow guiltily. "I just thought I would-!"
Yixing shook his head, straightening up. "S'ok," he mumbled with a small smile.
"You just startled me, that's all." He continued with a wince when he stretched his back, his neck twisting with the kink in the wrong way.
"Do you have it sore?" You asked with a guilty voice, which had Yixing shaking his head.
"It's okay, baobe-...___."
"Uhm...I...I did massages back home...if you want, I can..."
Yixing raised an eyebrow. He couldn't quite believe what he was hearing. "You did?"
You nodded, brushing a hand over your cheek. "You helped me with my hand. It's just fair, no?"
Yixing smiled, grateful that he didn't have to deal with it himself. But he was a bit apprehensive as well. How will he handle his mate's nimble fingers working on his neck?...
It didn't matter anymore because you were already manouvering him into a sitting position in the middle of the bed, moving behind him so you could have access on his neck. You warmed your hands by rubbing thrm and blowing warm air into them, so the initial contact wouldn't be uncomfortable.
"Where does it hurt?"
He craned his neck to the left, and your fingers immediately dropped to the right side, fingers working the tense muscle there.
Yixing had to summon the strength to hold back his groan.
Because your little fingers felt so perfect, rubbing him so earnestly, it made him imagine some more...
"Oh, I can feel it." You noted with a small gasp, and your fingers came down onto the lump that caused Yixing distress.
And this time, the moan couldn't be held in.
You let out a soft giggle, your fingers working out the big knot. "Good? It feels like you've been sleeping on this wrong for months..."
Yixing made some noise of acknowledgment and leaned back against you. But his loud, pleased rumble told you it felt okay.
"Ah, right there~..." Yixing groaned when you pressed down on one particular spot that made his whole body thrum with excitement. You did as he asked, fingerpads bearing down on the sore spot so perfectly it had Yixing's eyes closing in bliss.
"Good?"
Yixing actually growled, and you tried not to falter as something fluttered in your belly. Taking it as a yes, you just kept massaging. Until Yixing's eyes flashed open a bright red.
With a yelp, you fell back and off the bed, pushing yourself away from the dangerous wolf. Your back came in contact with the wall and you had nowhere to run.
Red means danger. Red is bad because red means blood.
"___."
You shook your head vigorously, closing your eyes in fear. "No! Please, I'm sorry!"
Yixing sighed, and you cracked open an eye to find him moving towards you. You would've scrambled back even further, but the wall stopped you.
"Please..." you nearly whined.
You hated your tone, but you felt powerless at the moment. And this was a werewolf. Even as nice as he was to you, you didn't want to push your luck.
"___, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I-"
He paused for a second, sitting down in front of you and waiting for you to open your eyes and look at him.
"I would never hurt you, ___..." he murmured, hand twitching to reach out and calm you down, but he knew it would do the exact opposite.
"Sometimes, our eyes change because of strong feelings, be it good or bad. Anger, pain, fear, but also..." he cut himself off, not quite sure if to say it or not, but the way you looked at him wide-eyed with fear made him decide.
"Pleasure..."
Your paleness from fear was replaced with a dusting of pink. "O-oh..."
"But I'm sorry. I should've warned you. I shouldn't have... let you do that..."
You pulled your arms to your chest. "I... offered..."
"And that's why I couldn't resist." He told you with a smile, a big boulder falling off his shoulders when he saw the tension disappear from your featurres. You still were a bit apprehensive, seeing the tone of redness swirling in his eyes, but it was much better than a few moments ago.
The silence was interrupted by a soft knock, before a blonde man entered and you couldn't help but to stare in awe. The man was huge, towering in the room and the almost stoic frown on his face didn't help him in any way to look friendly.
"Duizhang..."
"Hey, Xing." The man hesitated before taking three full steps in and closing the door behind him. When he looked at you, you expected something bad - a glare, maybe the frown deepening, harsh words. But all he did was nod carefully towards you, trying for a smile that was a bit tense. "Hello."
Your eyes went wide. "You speak... Ah, 'duizhang'!" you realized. "The umm... alpha... of the pack?"
The man's smile eased. "Kris. And yes.. one of them."
Your eyebrows crinkled, but you simply nodded. "Hello. Thank you for your pack's help, duizhang."
He scoffed. "Honestly, Kris is fine. Yixing, what's the plan?"
Yixing looked at you before sighing. "I'm... not sure yet. We'll have to talk first."
Kris nodded, and there was a sympathetic glint in his eye. "Got it. Well, it was nice to meet you, ___. You two are more than welcome to come down for more food. And to meet everyone, ___."
You frowned, reflexively reaching for Yixing's arm. He met your reach, your arms touching enough to gather comfort for the moment. You weren't sure you'd be able to handle the pressure, but you understood you couldn't just stay in the room forever.
"I-if Yixing will be there..?" You turned to him, unsure and nervous.
"Of course I will. To translate?"
You squeezed his arm. "Y-yes, that..."
"For moral support, Xing," Kris chuckled. "And I'll let Luhan know. He'll help with the understanding."
"Luhan is from home as well." Yixing cleared up for you once you looked at him in confusion.
"I'll be ready whenever you are, ___."
"I...I guess I am as ready as I ever will be, I just..." you were quite unsure how to say this, but with the way you felt...
"Is there any possibility that I could wash somewhere? I...I..."
"Of course, ___. I'll go get Haerin's clothes, she is just about your size.”
"No, no, there's no need to do that!" You quickly stopped Yixing, grabbing onto his arm as he rose.
"Just a quick shower, that's all that I need..."
Yixing crooked his head in that adorable way of his.
Kris chuckled. "If he doesn't ask one of the girls for clothes for you, we'll both get yelled at. For being 'irresponsible' or something."
Yixing's wide-eyed nod looked so exaggerated, you let out a nervous giggle. "O-oh... I... guess then. I wouldn't want that."
"Alright, here. I'll show you how everything works, then I'll get you some clothes." Yixing offered his hand, and you took it immediately.
It was cute, how Yixing opened the door and checked if the coast was clear before pulling you out into the hallway and right into the next door, the bathroom. It was spacious, with the large tub and showerhead pulled into the corner.
"Would you want to take a bath or just a shower?" Yixing asked you, taking out towels from the cabinet.
"J-just a shower will be fine." You stuttered, looking around. There were more women here, you noted as you saw feminine items on the shelves.
"Alright, well, this is how you switch from shower to bath. You should let the water run for a while so it geta warm. The clothes will be waiting in my room, so once you finish showering, just go there."
You hesitated. You didn't particularly want to be left alone, but this was washing up, and it would be strange to have Yixing there. So you let him exit, noting his instruction to call for him if you needed anything, and closed the door behind him. Leaving you in the bathroom alone. You began stripping, pulling your dirt-caked clothes off almost methodically as you listened to the water running.
Cold bit at your skin, the goosebumps rising on your arms and chest, and so you eased youself under the hot spray of water. You almost couldn't hold in the moan of delight at the contact- it was too long since you showered. On your journey, you used to wash in the lakes and ponds, but the water was freezing and you hated that. Now, with the water hot and stable, you closed your eyes and let it wash over you, wash the dirt away.
Letting the stress wash off felt so liberating. And it helped that your mind provided the picture of a bright, dimpled grin and kind, amber eyes.
Yixing...
You'd gotten so lucky making it to his home. It was frightening to be surrounded by so many strangers, more than half of them supernatural beings... but Yixing made you feel so comfortable. Like this trip may not have been in vain after all.
You hummed in though, washing the shampoo out of your hair. There was something pulling you closer to him...like it was destiny that you've met him. Back in your homeland, destiny was a very big deal and every person who reaches the age of 18 gets their reading done, to know what it yas stored for them.
Now, if you could just remember what you destiny is about...
You cursed your weak memory as you turned off the water and got out of the shower, squealing slightly at the impossible cold. You quickly wrapped your towels around you, and with a quick check of surroundings, you darted out if the bathroom and into Yixing's room.
The door clicked shut as you leaned back against it, and you were moving to dry your hair when you spotted a petrified wolf staring at you from the corner of the room.
You stumbled back into the door, eyes frozen on the tense healer, the clothing for you still in his hands. Your cheeks reddened when you realized how dressed-or undressed you were at the moment.
Shit, you smelled like him, Yixing realized with a small growl, his hands tightening around the cloth. You must've used his shampoo because you smelled like him, and now you were in a room, in Yixing's room, only wrapped in a towel and Yixing's control has never been tested this way.
His hands shook as he set the clothing down on the edge of the bed. "S-sorry. I was just gonna set these down here, and-"
He forced his muscles to listen as he made his way towards the door. Which was both the source of his temptation and his only escape from it. Because that's where you were, so close... smelling like him and still damp, your cheeks dusted pink from the warmth of the shower and your hair falling over your shoulders in wet tendrils. Right in front of the door.
Yixing's vision narrowed. He was starting to panic.
The only thing he saw was you, and how impossibly easy it would be to hoist you up, wrap your legs around his waist and simply pound you against the door until you were his. Only and forever his.
"Y-yixing?" Your voice was an uncertain whisper, breaking through his illusion of images of taking you in every position possible. During that time, he unconsciously stepped closer and closer, until he was pressing you against the door gently, his fingers brushing against the impossibly soft skin of your thigh.
Fuck, what drove him crazy was that you didn't move away. You stayed where you were, welcoming his touch.
Your breathing was shallow, your chest pressing against his with each rise and fall. Yixing's brain focused on it, his head leaning down closer to the pink of your parted lips. The mouth whispering his name breathlessly.
You were the one to take that last step, your lips nudging against his just slightly. But the touch was there.
And it drove Yixing crazy.
Yixing pushed his body fully into yours, urging you back against the door, trying not to see red as he thought of the small slip of material between the two of you - what kept him from your still wet, warm skin. The suppressed rumble escaped his throat as his lips molded over yours gently. You made a small noise, but it wasn't of displeasure, and Yixing found his hands settling heavily on your hips, his mouth pressing for just a bit more, lingering just a little bit longer.
He pulled away when he felt your hands fist his shirt, maybe fearing that you wanted to push him away.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what got into me..." Yixing's apology was breathy, as he tried to catch a grip on his control, but you didn't let him. One of your hands came to cup the nape of his neck and pull him down for more.
If finding Yixing felt right to you, kissing him felt perfect. Like you were born to do so.
Yixing's arm looped around your waist, pulling you impossibly closer to his body as he worked his lips over yours.
Shit, this could be bad.
Yixing practically felt the color of his eyes shifting as his control began unraveling.
You made a soft gasping noise, and his tongue darted out to take the opportunity, tracing the edge of your mouth to test the waters.
His beast snarled when he felt you reciprocating, the soft swipe of the tip of your tongue against his, and he lost it. With a growl, you were picked up effortlessly and deposited on the bed faster than you could manage to realize, making you yelp. During that small part of deattachment, you saw Yixing's eyes bleed into red, and you froze under him.
You still keep forgetting that he is a dangerous wolf..
Yixing must have felt it because he tensed above you before leaning back, his chest moving up and down evenly to attempt to control himself. He propped himself up on his knees, face already creasing apologetically as he closed his eyes to hide the red.
You grabbed his hand in your own form of apology, squeezing it.
"It's..." his voice was beautifully husky, making you shiver in delight. The need to kiss him again came bubbling up.
"Hard to control it. The eyes." He cleared up, his hand squeezing yours back. You shook your head, not that he saw it, sitting up clumsily to still keep the towel on.
With another deep breath, you cupped his face and kissed him again.
Yixing's eyes flew open, and all he saw was his mate, eyes clenched tight and cheeks flushed. He didn't even hesitate. He moved back until he was sitting and dragged you over his lap, your legs parting to settle on either side of him. And Yixing groaned with the realization that you were still bare underneath the towel.
Unable to help himself, his hands slid up the back of your thighs, under your towel, loving the way you mewled when his hands cupped your ass. Holy shit, this was going too fast, but Yixing didn't feel like stopping it just yet because of the way you were beautifully reacting to his touch and how your scent spiked up with arousal when you kissed him, it was intoxicating, you were intoxicating.
And he was sure he would never get enough of you.
Something banged against the door, and Yixing's kisses eased just slightly as he let out a growl. He wasn't sure whether or not to be glad for the interruption because you were still tangled around him, and you'd settled yourself down on his lap so he could feel your heat against the bulge in his pants. And fuck.
Your breaths brushed over his lips, and your eyes were still closed, your hands tightening their hold on his shoulders.
The banging came again. "Yeah?" Yixing didn't even bother trying to hide the rasp in his voice.
"Uhh... S-sorry, hyung." Yixing recognized Jongin's voice, and a long drag helped him pick up Sehun's scent as well.
He shook his head when he felt you fidget, his hands keeping you in place. "What is it?" No point in hiding that he was upset; he was sure the awkwardness in Jongin's tone was because they already figured.
"Kyungsoo hyung made breakfast, and it's growing cold...and he heard you mentioning that ___noona is starved and he said if we won't make you go down the next minute, Jongin should teleport in the room and port her to the table." Sehun's voice resembled a child's and it almost made Yixing laugh. Keyword being almost.
You pressed your cheek against his, and Yixing sighed. "Alright. We'll be down in a minute."
"Okay~" Sehun drawled, and Jongin just snorted before they both dragged each other away.
Which left the two of you in the quiet room. You just stared at him, eyes still glassy, cheeks still red, and lips still swollen with his kisses.
"This...I..." Yixing sighed, his thumbs still stroking the skin of your thighs, seeking comfort.
"You should get dressed, or else Jongin will really barge into the room and teleport you away." He chuckled and you couldn't help but to mirror him, blinking the dizziness away. What happened the past few minutes, even you couldn't comprehend. It felt so natural, so right, you didn't want to stop it. Even now, with Yixing's back turned to you so you could get dressed, all you wanted to do was wrap your arms around him from behind and...
No, ___. He is a wolf.
Bad ___.
"I... want to apologize..." Yixing whispered, settling on the floor with his elbows propped on his knees. "But I don't wanna lie to you."
You slipped on the pants provided for you, amazed at how well they fit. Then it was a slightly larger sweater slipping over your torso that smelled suspiciously like Yixing. "Lie to me?"
You walked over to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. He stood, his eyes roaming over your entire body in the process; the clothing might as well have been gone. He gestured to the sweater. "That looks good on you."
"I-is it yours?"
He nodded. "Haerin's pants, but I figured you'd wanna be warm, so the sweater is mine."
"Thanks." You smiled up at him. "Now... lying to me?"
Yixing groaned. "I'm not really sorry for kissing you. I'm just sorry it went so fast. And honestly a little upset that we were interrupted."
You blushed at his candor. "O-oh."
"Look, let's get some food into you first, and then we can talk about what happened and...yeah." Yixing ran a hand through his hair in a sign of nervousness before entwining his fingers with yours and leading you out of the room.
You really shouldn't have done that. Because now you don't want to leave this place. You didn't want to leave Yixing.
You have kissed and been kissed many times, but none were as exciting and breathtaking as Yixing's were. It was something completely new but it felt like you've done it for ages now, it felt so natural to you.
Who was this man? Why did he feel so safe and familiar?
