he can't stop thinking about all the ways in his life he has used other people as a means to gain freedom. armand spent his whole, long life, unable to truly get a grip on his own freedom. he knew what it was he craved, but making it happen... it always felt difficult for the person he had been. wrestling with ideas of worth, of what was deserved. too many ghosts in his head, too many voices and hands telling him his worth that it left him empty of identity. so quick to jump between those that could give him some sense of that. but it never worked, did it? so he moved on and on, enabling the destruction in hopes what came next might finally work.

this was the first time in his over five hundred years that armand finally thought he had an idea of what freedom truly meant. but there was still... adjustment to be done. lessons to learn. and, well... who better than lestat, really? a beacon for trouble and chaos, a seeker of it, sure. but... he was free, wasn't he?

smoke is exhaled and armand's head drops back, eyes closing for a moment as he just breathes, flashes of his life replaying for a moment. "emptiness. perhaps not... in the moments, but... after. now. a great void that i long to fill." head drops and he looks to lestat again with a small smile, a sigh. "and it all makes the... anger louder too." and perhaps that was the truth, that armand had been angry for... centuries. an anger never permit to be released and he partially hates the way he looks at lestat now, as if he might have answers. or perhaps even a guide.

"it all looks good on you though, it always has."

lestat takes the offered cigarette, balanced unlit between his fingers until armand sits down. he chooses to lean forward and close enough to press the unlit tip to armand's, lighting his own before he rests back against the neglected sofa.

trouble had come for him as long as he could remember. a child who could never reach his family's expectations, an actor catching the gaze of a deranged vampire —paris, new orleans, and paris again, trouble could be a noose or a comfortable cocoon.

hii, i read your the twilight effect + your write-up afterwards. its definitely something i will be thinking about for a while. i love your twilight so much.. i do not normally read fan fiction or really much of anything at all, so im not too good at like complimenting writing and the sort.. i really loved the fluttershy chapter/trial and also found their interactions during the festival really adorable. and fluttershy + rarity on the bleachers with twilight at the beginning was also so cute. the entire epilogue was so wonderful to me, i loved seeing their relationships after the incident. theyre all so cute and best friends. i also loved the progression throughout their senior year. like idk, something about twilight having a rough hs experience but a great and friend filled senior year.. she deserves it soo much. and she had some tough moments but she overcame them.. love it. well i apologize for the rambling. i couldnt read something that wonderful and not say some words of appreciation.. essentially thank you so much for writing TTE and being willing to share it with everyone..!!!

Disharmonized Heaven basis if any of yall want,,, i want to draw more of this AU im just ironing out things....

Harmony (Tibby's Mom) is one of the main antagonists, but doesn't want to be / is doing what she believes is necessary (while also being in a type of delerium)

She is known for acting without thought, and harsh punishment/judgement (ex, my OC Lost Girl was banished)

^^^ neat detail about Harmony, she cries gold. A semblance of her true self leaking from the rare instances we see her emotion!!!

Heaven World is a broken place, and it is not what it used to be. The vibrance and rhythms have muted with time. (Broken Record is responsible)

Heaven World in this AU is a home to "idols", basically our Rhythm Game characters such as Wandering Samurai, Clappy Trio, Stomp Farmer, Pop Singer, Chorus Kids, etc.

HOWEVER: Mass duplicates like, the Hue Birds or Monkeys for ex: are magical entities who simply live in heaven world.

A lot of the Space Characters qualify as this too, but sometimes there's instances of an idol sprouting among them like, "Player" Space Kicker!

^^^ "Playa" SK is a bit of a people pleaser, and, occasionally runs errands for Harmony.

The Karate Family were the guardians of the world's flow meter back on earth.

Karate Joe was in line to be the next guardian, but Senior kept him in the dark and it made an attachment to this responsibility, outside of his father, difficult.

^^^ Senior actually, NEVER, told his children about Heaven World, either.

So you can imagine: The day he was murdered, and that treasure was stolen by Broken Record; Joe and Maccie sort of had their entire world caved in.

Joe became the idol to replace his father. All of a sudden, he has a murder mystery, and a quest to retrieve their family jewel thrown upon him. Informed he's some "god", that, what, did dad have powers? I have powers? I, have, to become the Karate Man???

And, who, all informs him of this? Why a wise little dog! Barista is not a resident of Heaven World, but sniffs around. He's a friend, of a friend, of a friend, here to help Joe, and fill him in.

Maccie feels lost and left out. (Especially bc, if you remember, she is Senior's golden child) so she doesn't like this talking dog trying to take her brother away very much.

^^^ and even more that she's "not special", and can't help. She eventually runs off on her own, and tries to find the flow meter herself. (AND actually is the one who gets closer, meeting Tap Girl who accompanies a fallen Tibby)

AND UHHH yeah this the bare bones basics. I have a lot of ideas and trying to figure out dynamics and roles amongst the cast in this context. Like \\\ Some characters are new idols (SK, Pop Singer), some are very old (Samurai, Stomp Farmer), and others are simply just guys hanging around!!!! So the a capella concert where I sang Honeybee happened! I wanted to dress more like June but we ended up color-coordinating and I had to wear yellow so I hope that it's semi-probable that June would wear yellow and black and have a honeybee necktie when singing that song... (or at the very least he'd give the outfit a thumbs-up lmaooo)

And I made a Hello/Goodbye-themed bracelet for the concert like the one you made, hopefully that's still okay! I couldn't find a planet charm for Goodbye's side unfortunately, so the shooting star and moon charm was the closest to an astronomical charm I could find, but it is what it is. Also! I specifically chose moonstone for a couple of the beads on there because that's one of the birthstones of June ^_^

I'm also so happy that our ensemble leader let me hold a little crochet bee while I sang as well hehe!

Thank you for being so inspirational and awesome and for giving us wonderful stories like So(u)l and Bethroned! Now we took our ass in our hands and went to read. It's really addictive

Like, come on, it literally shows how 049 loses his past self. An emotional, sensual doctor, becoming a real monster. The way this parallel is shown between "I'm a monster... I'm too terrible for people, but they gave me a chance... I won't miss it!" and between “since even the person dear to me sees me as a monster, so be it...”

And the atmosphere itself! From the very beginning it is already shown that this is not just some kind of romantic comic book, which shows an idealized Dark Lord in fantasy, but really The cruel ruler of Alagadda, who is still angry at those who threw him out of his kingdom, and will do anything to return. Even if it costs the death of a loved one. AND THESE CUTE SKETCHES WITH THESE TWO DUMMIES!!!

(I won't even lie, some parts of the 049's design were inspired by his 049)

💘 Is it easier to write angst or fluff?

Overall, angst. Angst moves the plot forward while fluff serves as a break or a happy ending (or a cute oneshot). That being said, every story needs to have tension and release. With These Beautiful Lies We Tell Ourselves, I tried to be careful about not overwhelming the readers (and myself) by pounding tragedy into every sentence. Chapter Three didn't have a break, but it was mostly because I didn't feel it appropriate to add a comedic scene or fluffy scene to that chapter. However Chapter Four takes a more action-oriented approach and finally Chapter Five delivers a reprieve and hopeful future.

On the other hand, I LOVE reading fluff, so kudos to the authors who do it really well. @fluffmelange is my current twiyor fluff babe

🚦What sort of endings do you prefer to write: ambiguous, bad, happily ever after, etc.?

I will very rarely write a sad ending. The one and only royai deathfic I did broke my heart to pieces. @jedidragonwarriorqueen is amazing at writing very angsty pieces that deliver a solid happy ending and are worth the ride! Sometimes I'll write bittersweet endings, but most of the time I like my happy endings to be deserved. 💕So I don't think I'll write a twiyor death fic, royai can take the trophy on that one (but if I did rest assured I would tag the crap out of it)

It's such a... personal touch to it. You didn't have to add that detail. Most people would've described more basic driving, or even having the light stay red. But you decided to make it turn green. And it's just. Idk I really really appreciate that. It connects sm deeper to me. It makes it feel like I'm living in the world, not just reading it. Like idk what it is about those tiny details, but they mean everything to me

You're So good at making the scene feel real, making me feel immersed. I notice it in all your fics, but because of honey and tangerines being a modern au, I notice it that much more. It's really special to me :(

I love when people notice those especially in my more slice of life type stuff like honey and tangerines. just tiny moments that make it feel more like real life
