So i saw my former classmates story on ig today and realized they aged SO much in one year and at first I was like well amms you just like reverse aged from all the relaxation and that's why you think that butttt then I realized it could also be alcohol abuse which would make sense cause they have kinda veered towards that during summer/breaks from school in the past and had told me that they get sad when they don't have school to stress out about and occupy their mental space sooooooooo yeah I mean damn like that used to be me as well but that was the point of this time off, to learn to find joy and not be depressed whenever I'm not distracted. So anyways idkm it just I mean idk if it's just the passing of time or if it really is substance abuse but regardless it made me sad that a whole year has passed like that's crazy that we already look different. What's it gonna be like in 5 year? 7 years? 10 years from now what if we walk past each other at the mall and don't even recognize the people whose shoulders we fell asleep on in lectures

Okay I'm done. Emotionally and literally. Why does a sober catman have a bar in his house? Because he hates himself like that. That is why his house is 2/3 business and he lives in a broom closet. I'll post better screenshots at somepoint.

Free-flowing paint, continued. Janet Sobel, Hans Hoffman, and Jackson Pollock had, by the 1950s, explored the use of gravity as an assistant in their drip-based abstractions. Helen Frankenthaler, possibly inspired by Pollock’s implementation of raw, unsized and unprimed canvas in his late enamel pour paintings, took to using raw canvas and thinned-down colors to create delicate veils of paint that merged completely with the support. Other artists, Morris Louis included, quickly followed suit, and the practice was used by other Color Field painters, like Kenneth Noland.
Sam Gilliam’s Idylls I, 1970, is a stained canvas painting that has an additional element of flow and uncertainty: the canvas itself is intended to be suspended by cord from the wall, making its size and shape variable depending on the manner in which it was hung.
Irene Monat Stern and Paul Jenkins both used poured, flowing paint to create colorful, free-form shapes. Stern, like Frankenthaler, favored unsized canvas, while Jenkins worked on a surface primed with white paint for maximum chromatic impact.
Other artists worth considering include Sam Francis, Pat Lipsky, Alden Mason, Otto Piene, Pat Steir, and even, on one or two occasions, Andy Warhol.

ʜɪᴅᴅᴇɴ ʟᴀɪʀ ( II / II )
Further down past paper walls and steps of polished wood, as the place got darker and the smell of metal and coal permeated the air, Alun took a deep breath as if savoring that smell of what home was; in metal grids and walls. The river passed right underneath the room - water pumped from there as it ran from outside to inside, whatever powered that house and made it work seemed to be from there, the heart of that abode. The walls too were covered with a myriad of things, hunt marks, notes about far too many subjects from botany to machinery written by hand, information about a few airships or selected pieces of recent news, wanted posters and more. It only got more convoluted the closer it approached to the end of that room, different weapons hanged by the metal grid along with the notes, and a few flasks were full to the brim with other, stranger things swirling inside. To the other side, through a few plants that Alun seemed to check upon carefully as they moved, was what looked like a cave that led to the backside of the mountain where the very estate sat upon. Through rocky walls that opened into an alcove, it spread into an open space leading to what seemed like an abyss in every way, but the way things were built seemed that the place was a makeshift dock for an airship, and a Skyarmor sat by the far end of it.

Prompt #29: On Cloud Nine
The elevator ride to the airship landing was short and easy. Asdis ate a light lunch at airship cafe as she waited on the preparations for departure. Then, Asdis saw the way to board the airship.
"Is it too late to walk?" Achlys teased Asdis for nerves in her stomach at the sight of the simple, lengthwise timber. Which could turn over with a tilt in Asdis' opinion, but there weren't any other choices. Debt collectors and their mercenaries have disrupted Asdis daily life in Ul'dah now.
"Nonsense. I am not turning tail now." Asdis only steps onto the plank before halting again as she looks down to the city below.
"Are we scared of heights?" Asdis could feel the sneering in the words and she wouldn't have it.
"No, I'm not afraid of heights."
Asdis was simply being cautious. Airships were relatively long standing for some people, but made only a fraction of Asdis's life. A life she was about to risk by stepping on an airship that could plummet from beneath her feet once she boards. It didn't though. The ship was solid and flew away from the city quite gently.
"Are we happy now?" If Achlys had eyes to roll, Asdis was sure the voidsent would be making such an expression.
"Overall, I'm on cloud nine about these developments." Asdis said waving goodbye to the dwarfed people on the ground. Ah, thinking of goodbyes, Asdis had to wonder about her housemate. "Did I leave the note before departing today?"
Any answer from Asdis' worse half is interrupted by an airship attendant.
"Are you alright, miss?" The lalafell asks. "It seems you were a bit nervous when you boarded."
Asdis feels Achlys glee at the questioning, it makes Asdis seethe.
"Yes. I'm quite alright."
"Very well. We have seats below deck if you are feeling unwell. The estimated time of arrival to Ishgard is four bells."
Asdis nods at information.
Once the attendant leaves, Asdis turns an inner eye to Achlys, "I won't speak to you for the rest of the flight. It is your fault that I can not travel long distances via aether." Asdis could feel the voidsent sulk in the corner of her soul, but she'd make true on her punishment anyways.
However, that left Asdis with only herself for company. Looking out at the clouds Asdis could not stop herself from recalling a conversation with Adanirus.
"As a child, and hells still to this day, I wonder what it would be like to ride on top of a dragon. Of course if I shared that thought with anyone they thought me simple or mad."
"Simple, I am not. Mad? That has yet to be proven." Asdis aches to her soul as she mimics his words. Asdis wishes to hear the words in his voice. Even the facsimile from #oo0 cracks and stutters with age though. Asdis settles on twisting the ring on her finger. She will have to find a new jeweler to have it mended soon. Unknowingly, Asdis becomes lost in her thoughts and is startled back into her body by the airship docking.
"Enjoyed the flight?" Achlys asks to Asdis's realization that she is sitting in the commissary instead of last place she remembered being on the deck.
"I better have not killed anyone on this ship." Asdis hisses under her breath as people prepare to depart the ship.
"That would be bad manners." Achlys swears.
Once off the airship Asdis approaches the aetheryte and finds she is still weakly attuned to the aethernet in the city. Well, it has been a few epochs, so she safely walks to the Forgotten Knight in place of the teleportation.
"The city seems to be doing very well for itself now." Asdis comments out loud as she takes in the distant view of the new residential district.
However, Asdis takes room at the Cloud Nine. Which has seen better days since Asdis last stayed there.
"Hm, well I suppose this room will have to do for the time being. Only until we find proper accommodations of course."
