Visited the woods today and Mother Nature left me some incredible gifts:
The Skull was the first thing I found, and I was amazed because it was so out in the open! I've kept it, after asking permission, and I'm sure it'll serve well in spells and perhaps I shall work with its spirit.
The teeth were found towards the end of my visit, and I pulled them from a damaged jaw bone - they will likely become a divinatory tool for me!
The shell is oyster-esque (but damaged) which was incredibly unusual since these woods are about 20 miles from a proper coast! I left it in the woods though, as I have many shells from my University area.
The other bone was left as well, I don't like to take too much and especially not when I have nothing to leave behind - I did not go there thinking I would be taking anything home!!
The egg shell I used as a small protective symbol while communicating with Mother Nature and the spirits, the two twigs were used as a quick and easy DIY divination tool to communicate!
I'll post more about the skull and teeth after they've been cleaned and I've had a chance to communicate with their spirits!
Continuing to refine faking pen. I like this character a lot; it does not speak itself but the snakes do. It's unclear if they're one mind or several. Done in Clip Studio Paint.
So I used to be into vulture culture, I had bags of bones and skulls and other animal remains. And I was talking to the nature spirits near my house and all of a sudden I remembered all the bones I have and I asked if I should return them to nature, if there were spirits attached to the remains and if they were sad to be stuck in my room. The nature spirits told me I should return them to nature where they belong and I did, and I cried after because I felt so guilty for taking them from where they belonged.
I used to think I was turning their remains into art and honoring them through the preservation of their bones, and I don’t think that viewpoint is wrong, but after that experience I can’t help but think of all the spirits who were taken from nature. Deer who can no longer run through fields and nap in the comfort of the underbrush. Birds who can no longer soar through the air because they are trapped inside a house sitting on a shelf.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I’ve been thinking I’ll just ask before I take any remains but I can’t really rely on my discernment yet and don’t want to take a spirit somewhere they’re not happy.
Hey, I’d love to get some more books out into the world! Heres the current lineup--you can find them all in both ebook and paperbacks at http://www.thegreenwolf.com/books
