He was unsure what he was doing. Nanami wanted to leave that life behind, but for some reason, he owned it to the other. he owes it to him just to hear him out.

yet, he took the time off to do this. He wasn't being targeted anymore since he quit being a jujutsu sorcerer at the time. He was working as a boring officer worker, at a nice to-five that was making his life even more worthless. But even so, when he came to the spot where the other was to meet him, he looked at him.

Geto really hasn't changed a bit. Besides the fact his long hair just was longer he looked happier.

Happier, huh. That was strange to even think about. Knowing all that he did before he left. Killing so many people --- hearing the sights that he was doing the small bits of information before Nanami left. He knew really nothing at this moment. So as he was standing there for a moment he couldn't help but lift his hand and wave a little.

" Well, most people would think I wouldn't. But for me, I at least wanted to hear you out. Is that so wrong of me?"

he's still unsure. a part of him believes he will always feel this way. none of it was right, this life wasn't right. the things they did weren't right. and yet...their claws dig in deep. so here he was, teaching, lying, leading, and ending a life. or beginning it, as they would tell her. as he had to tell her as well.

of course she can't read. of course someone else has whispered into her ear the lies scriptures that he too had memorized. burnt into his flesh like a sin. and now he must do the same to her.

" — that's good... " he lies again. " do you have questions about it? about the scripture? " about anything. question it, he begs silently. but this was his job now. he must adhere to the rules set forth before him. and so she must learn, and she must become as he is.

maybe the world will not feel as lonely he thinks to himself. but it will, and he will feel the guilt along beside it for his eternity.

It had been near silent in the halls of the palace. His sisters did not prance about as they once had, most servants gave hastily greetings and paid respects in his passing, and the guards utter not a word. Everyone knows what he did. Yet, all were too weary and frightened to confront the beast of a lord about it. Nor did they have the authority or power to act on against him. Call him an usurper--- he took his birthright back by force, yes ( violently and bloodily so ), yet not unlawfully. Not in his flaming eyes. And not in the eyes of his betrothed.

@ladysbloom, that force of a woman, never abandoned his side. Never cowered from him. Never looked upon him in disgust. He loved her. He'd give her the world and galaxies were it possible. For some curious reason... she loved him too. Even when he was so underserving of it.

Agravaine followed that floral scent that lingered about the air where his lady love went. Allowing him to trail the halls with ease back to their bedchambers. He had the interior altered. Something that suited them, rather, her best. The Lord cared not for the way of looks. Only that he had a place to comfortably rest. He pauses beside the large doors. Quietly watching Serene as she peacefully saw to her own duties. Finally he breaks the silence, "Do these chambers fulfill thy needs, my lady?"

the closer that the pair of them get to the castle, the more that this certain anxiety strikes her. her mind fills with thoughts, both good and wonderful and utterly horrifying. they are both free, her moreso than fjord perhaps ( though if the fey pretending to be her mother is not dead as they assume then the both of them still have some sort of fight head of them ), but she knows whatever it takes, she will keep him safe and he her. they have a whole world in front of them, one she has never before seen in anything other than pictures drawn- but first, she wants to see her home- or well... where should have been her home. fjord is both her home and her dream, after all, but she cannot help but wonder...

thus is where her issues lie, her mind racing as the boat inches closer to the castle, a journey being taken now for the second time but feels so much... heavier, jester plagued with questions, most of which she has answers to, of course. what will happen if they don't believe she is their daughter? --- well then her and fjord could roam and find their own place and she would be more than happy there... one question she can not find a simple answer for, though, and apparently it troubled her so deeply how much she thought on it showed clear on her face, or at least jester assumes that is the reason for fjord's sudden gentle kisses on her hands.

he is quick to pull her from her mind with the gesture, and a faint smile finds her lips and blush filling her cheeks, holding tight to both his hands the very moment that he finishes. " sorry if i've been a bit quiet. " it's not like her she knows and the very last thing jester wants to do is worry him. swallowing, she looks away from fjord for a moment at the castle getting closer still, exhaling shakily as she looks back at him.

" ... do you think they'll like me? " her smile grows somewhat sheepish, embarrassed but she continues. " i know it is a little silly. i've just... i guess i have been thinking about it. " more like she can't stop, but she's trying to now, trying to focus on what's in front of her, what she has instead of what she might lose- fingers entwining with the half-orcs as she stares into his golden eyes trying to find comfort.

Palms were sweaty beneath the silk of her ivory gloves as she stared doe-eyed at the sea of people within the holy building. A sensation she was barely aware of as she watched the prince slowly decrease the space between them, all eyes around on them. Yet his darkened gaze was locked on hers.

"Bit late for it now, no? " She spoke with a strength that surprised her in her warm voice as she forced herself to take a deep breath, reaching out to wrap her fingers around his outstretched. Giving it a firm squeeze. Though they were barely more than strangers she couldn't help but feel some sort of comfort in knowing she wasn't alone in this, at least he didn't seem cruel. " Well... i will do it if you do.." She joked with a soft smile, taking a step towards him. "Ready? "

"don't miss me too much, nanamin."

"Miss you? You said you would be gone for just a week.--- Don't tell me it's longer than that. If It is, maybe I'll miss you. But it's going to be quiet without you home. Ah, must be a dream come true for me." He's clearly teasing.
