also quick wip of a fic im writing and working on.. hopefully il actually make more than one chapter and not feel like no one cares abut it haha
He doesn't remember how he's gotten here.
It felt like everything hurt for a single moment, his leg being hit by a spear and dragged right off his horse- hitting the rough ground before feeling another stab in his back. He doesn't know who, but it felt like it was burning. Like something of his own was used against him..
But he isn't there anymore. He isn't on the battlefield anymore, but now in an itchy blanket with a lamp rearing it's head right at him. He blinked as it was shoved into his face even more, with another figure looking right behind him.
He weakly attempted to swat the lamp, before it was pulled away. A doctor megaton was looking down at him, freckles all over and tilted their head.
"Oh, I knew you were alive!" They proclaimed, then shoved the lamp right back into his face. "Now, wvat are you feelivg? Hurt? Mavbe a littve pained?"
"Can't you get out of my face for a moment?!" Spiderton kicked the lamp right back, as the megaton squeaked. "I don't- what.. is the war over?"
The megaton doctor tilted their head again, before letting out a chortle. "Ah hah.. It's only veen a week or so," the doctor twirled over to another closed window, before opening up the blinds. "Only an agreement. None of us want more to be hurt and slaughtered, yes?" They blinked slowly over at the confused zigoton.
He just stayed silent, gripping onto the blankets. Was the war all for nothing then? His tank? The comrades he's made- all dead?
His thought stream was broken by the megaton petting Spiderton on the back. "I suppose it vust be hard for you.. You are vhe only general left. Did I ever vay that?" The megaton chuckled awkwardly, and Spiderton slowly turned his head towards them, like a wall turning.
They jumped back a little. "I'm only delivering vuch nevs.. You wouldn't want to be invulting the Patapons and vtart up another war, hm?" They fidgeted with their paws, looking to the side. "And, you might want to know of a vmall little thing.."
"What? That we're dickriding the Patapons now?-"
The blanket was pulled gently off of Spiderton, revealing that he had his left leg amputated. It was covered in a small cast, but his foot and ankle definitely wasn't there anymore. His fur rose up, shaking the tip of the cast as he covered his mouth to prevent himself from making a scene.
"Although your right leg vas been healing, your left vasn't.. in the best condition. It vas better to remove it than let it rot and, eventually, remove itvelf off." The megaton explained, as if this has happened to other zigotons before he'd woken up. "It vas lucky that you were knocked out during all of it! The ones vhat were awake and well.. I covldn't descrive their noises, really!" They waved off their hand casually; it was just in the job for this doctor.
Spiderton didn't say a word. He only sat down silently, pawing down at the cast and beginning to use his claw to fidget with it. He just had to take everything in; what had happened at the battlefield and then now. He gripped at his cheek, wondering and hoping if this wasn't real..
But his scarred fluff felt very real, and much more cleaner. He must've been washed, as he looked right at the megaton again.
"..Thanks." He then looks away. He's never felt so embarrassed, almost panicking right in front of someton.. He doesn't do that, he promises himself. "I- augh, uh.."
"Oh, it's no pleavure!" The megaton gave Spiderton a tough pat on the back again, chuckling as they cut them off. "I alwavs do vhat is best for my patients! And, vou would want a revap of everythivg, yes?" They made a soft clicking sound, looking directly into Spidertons eye. "Just rememver, I am now vour provider.. Ve can divuss this another time, ves?"
Spiderton just nodded. "Okay, sure." He scritched at his back, shuffling his fur awkwardly. "I.. I don't really know how to feel right now. Sorry."
"A lot of zigotons von't know abovt these times.. I vouldn't recommend vorrying all about it!" The megaton then turned away, grabbing some papers and a cheap clipboard out with an old, bulky pen. "Juvt fovus on the future, okay? Becauve I can guess it'd be rough."
The general gripped his paws on the sheets, as a document was handed right to him about his other medical conditions now. He wouldn't know how else to tell his mom that he's still alive, without a leg, and.. confused.
And he isn't ready for this shit, scrambling his real name onto the papers. It's not like anythings gonna dwell in his mind.

Here you and the part on Wrat19 volume 1 chapter 3 which Guren had the same sweet dream like what Mika had on chapter 93 which shows Guren's deepest desires.
Guren dreamed.
It wasn't a sexy dream. It was a lively, tranquil dream.
Guren was sitting by a river---he was pretty sure it was the one whete he had first met Mahiru. It was in his hometown, in Aichi Prefecture. The same river where he had spent so much time training in his youth.
The sun was already dipping below the horizon, and the sky had turned a startling crimson.
Guren had spent another day training, swinging his wooden sword this way and that.
But he was no longer a boy. He was prerty sure he was sixteen.
Across the river on the opposite bank sat Mahiru.
She was dressed in her school sailor uniform, bare legs dangline from her skirt and kicking at the surface of the river, sending sprays of water into the air.
Guren looked around and saw that his friends were also there. Norito was trying to start a fire. Now Guren rememberedt They were having a cookout. They had all gone down to the river that day to make curry.
Mito, Sayuri, and Shigure were preparing the food.
A little further off, Shinya was trying to put up the tent.
Glancing towards him, Shinya said, "C'mon, Guren, help out."
"You hear that?" Guren shouted across the river to Mahitu.
"You help out, too."
But Mahiru just smiled and said nothing.
"I sid help out!"
She smiled at him.
"Mahiru!"
She just kept on smiling.
"Guren! Gurennn!" shouted Norito.
"Yeah?"
"I cant get the fire vtarted. This charcoal's damp."
"Should I bring more from home? It wasnt far."
"Yesh, would you?"
Guren set off walking toward his family's home.
That day had bcen so tranquil, the weather so gorgeous. A perfect day for camping and a cookout.
When Guren arrived home, Shigure and Sayuris patents wete both there. They told him how happy they were to see him again.
Guren had no idea what the fuss was about, so he just noddod aid began looking around for more charcoal. He was prey sure tbere was some out in the shed.
As he was making his way actoss the garden, he ran into his father.
His father beamed at him. "Did you make some friends in Tokyo?"
"I guess. I mean, I don't know ifI'd call those guys my"
"But you invited them to come home with you, so you guys friends must be pretty close, right?"
"Yeah, I guess you could say that"
"This is the first time you've evet had friends over, after all."
"It is?"
"And you look happy"
"I do?"
"You do."
"Maybe I am, at that."
"Well, as long as you're happy, I'm happy."
"Quit it, it's embarrassing."
"Hahaha."
"By the way, dad."
"Yeah?"
"Do you know where the charcoal is?"
"Good question..." His father was still smiling. Guren loved it when his father smiled. His respect for the man ran deep. "I think there might be some in the shed."
Guren walked past his dad and opened the shed. It was practically overflowing with charcoal.
"I found it!" he called out, stuffing some into a bag and tossing it over his shoulder. He headed back to the river.
On his way back, he met several followers of the Order of the Imperial Moon. They all bowed their heads as they greeted him. Lord Guren, you're finally home! Now that you've returned to us you can finally take over the leadership of the Imperial Moon.
Everyone seemed to be in good spirits, enjoying the pleasant evening. Guren passed a group of children, all shouting at each other to ger home before it grew dark. The comforting smell of some one cooking dinner suddenly reached his nose.
Guren arrived back at the river.
"What took you so long!" chidcd Norito.
Guren apologized, and together they lit the fire.
Shinya had finished putting up the tent and walked over at that point, carrying colas for them.
"Out of the way!" cried the ladies, setting the pot atop the newly stoked fire.
Shinya, Norito, and Guren took a step back and began sipping their cola.
It was delicious. The most delicious thing Guren had ever tasted.
"Ahh," Guren sighed. "I wish today could last forever."
He really did. "Me too," said Shinya beside him.
"Me three." added Norito.
On the far side of the river, Mahiru continued to smile.
The sun began to set, but the glow of the coals illuminated the surroundings.
"I wanna roast some marshmallows!" said Shinya.
Guren smiled, "Me too"
The rest of their friends chimed in.
"Count me in."
"Yes, please."
"Me too."
"Me there!"
They took the pot off the fire and began roasting marshmallowes, smooshing them between graham crackers before popping them into their mouths. The curry wasn't even done yet.
Mahiru, meanwhile. just continued smiling at them.
"Mahiru?" Guren called.
"....."
"Why don't you join us? Don't you want a marshmallow?"
Mahiru's smiling lips parted, as if she were about to speak.
And then, suddenly, it was over.
Guren's peaceful interlude had ended all too soon.
He awoke abruptly.
"Ugh.."
Guren opened his eyes.
He was in a classroom. He recognized it: it was one of the classrooms at First Shibuya High School.
Guren was bound to a chair in the middle of the classroom.
There was a bilackboard on the wall in front of him.
The clock read 10:20 p.m.
Bright shards of moonlight filtered in through the broken glase f the window, borne on a cold December wind.
Guren stared out the window from where he sat restrained The arld really had come to an end. The scene outside the broken window made that perfectly clear.
Several dead bodies had been piled up in one corner of the room.
"Dammit... I guess I was just dreaming." said Guren, staring at the corpses.

SPECIAL NOTE: Vermont Art Guide is a quarterly, printed magazine about contemporary art in Vermont. We have three goals: 1) To connect the entire state’s art community by sharing information about exhibitions and events. 2) To present a picture of Vermont art and art in Vermont, to tell our story. 3) To build an audience for Vermont art inside the state and out. We hope you will join us by subscribing to the print edition today! Thank you for your support.
In The Issue
On the cover of Vermont Art Guide #4 is Meadow Poppies & Mountain by Lorraine Manley. She is one of the artists at the Milton Art Center, a new art space created by the Miton Artists’ Guild. We write about their endeavour in the issue.
In the issue’s editorial, “We Are Not Alone”, Vermont Art Guide Editor Ric Kasini Kadour rallies against Modernism’s assertion that “We’re born alone, we live alone, we die alone.”
“It is a myth that we are alone, a terrible story we tell ourselves that feeds the ego of our success, but isolates us from others and prevents us from relating to others. Good things happen when people get together. Great things happen when artists get together.”
–Ric Kasini Kadour
We report on bold changes happening at the Chaffee Art Center in Rutland; the loss of twenty artist studios in Burlington’s South End Arts District; and how the Vermont Art Guide is partnering with the Vermont Arts Council on an exhibition.
In January, over five million people participated in over five hundred marches to protest the election and inauguration of the new president. The symbol for the movement, the pink Pussy hat, moved Colchester artist Carol MacDonald to make a print. We tell the story. A woodcut by Woodstock artist Jeanne Amato was collected by the Boston Athenæum. We’ve got that story too. And we report on how nine Vermont artists came together to make art and raise funds for Vermont Works for Women.
In “Raw Painting,” we profile Charlotte artist Jane Ann Kantor. Her newest series, “Raw”, is forceful, blending photo transfers and street-art inspired abstract painting—think urban detritus—into a poignant essay on grief and the relentless tension between life and death. We look at how Kantor channels hard work, experimentation, and grief into her artwork.
Over the years, Chris Jeffrey has built a reputation as a talented and versatile stained glass artist in central Vermont. His new work–light installation–plays with light, but in a completely different way.
This summer, Pawlet photographer Stephen Schaub is curating an exhibition at the Southern Vermont Art Center that is bringing together photographers at the top of their game from around the world. What they have in common is that they all work with film. We interview this artist who says,
“Film isn’t dead, far from it. In fact in many ways, I’d argue, it’s just getting started.”
Summer in Vermont is the season of outdoor sculpture. The state is blessed with a bonanza of sculpture parks, open to the public. Some of these places make great picnic spots. Others make for a great road trip. All of them provide an opportunity to experience large scale sculpture in a natural environment. We visit sculpture at Lemon Fair Sculpture Park in Shoreham; Cold Hollow Sculpture Park in Enosburg Falls; West Branch Gallery & Sculpture Park in Stowe; Gerald K Stoner Underhill Ironworks; Vermont Arts Council Sculpture Garden in Montpelier; and Middlebury College.
Where to See Art, our curated list of 147 places to see art around the state. We pay particular attention to: Walker Contemporary, Waitsfield | Bundy Modern, Waitsfield | T.W. Wood Gallery, Montpelier | Brattleboro Museum & Art Center | Morrill Homestead, Strafford | Chandler Gallery, Randolph | Catamount Arts, St. Johnsbury | Shelburne Museum | Maltex Building, Burlington | Ross Sheehan Studio, Vergennes | Art on Main, Bristol | Northern Daughters, Vergennes | Compass Music & Art Center, Brandon | Marble House, Dorset | Bennington Arts Weekend
and a Vermont Art Guide Artist Directory.
