Trollstober Day 25: Date (+ a little bonus!)

🌷 this one’s kinda late bc i’ve been working on cosplay things all day 😓 but i never talk about these two and their little fling! let me fix that!

🫐 quick lore drop abt them: back in the day in VRC, when Floyd was but an underground artist, he got an invite to perform at the Goth Rock club Plum and their friends frequented! after his performance, he ended up becoming friends with Plum and Damson! soon after, him and Damson became a bit more….if only Floyd knew that hours before they met, Damson was in the middle of getting rejected by the love of his life 😭🪻

so yeah, it’s safe to say that they didn’t last very long. rebounds are never a good idea 🥱

My ass is still sick and stuck inside, but that won't stop me from going to VRChat raves. Here are some pics from the Guys Night x Wyvern After Party.

First up was Dulce Arma (pictured above) with a heavy club set. That strain of hardcore that's big on VRC right now, lots of bangers.

Neon (pictured above) came up after with some slightly mellower stuff—I haven't kept up with the EDM scene, so I couldn't tell you what it was. Tech house? Was pretty decent.

GrizzMango came up third, with my favorite set of the night. Opened with some funkier house and disco stuff before getting into the more straight-forward club. Really solid set overall. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for the final performer, since it was getting pretty late.

Dah pukul 2am kot. And still diam je. Try call lg cousin dia tu phone ringing tapi tak angkat. Try whatsapp tapi tak blue tick. Ada gak try txt bf cousin dia tu pun tak angkat. Mmg taik kucing betul serious.

Member yg aku tgh main game kt pc tu pulak ada adik. Adik dia tu member dgn si bf cousin bini aku tu! (Haa sori kalau pening kepala tapi nak buat mcm mne dia kenalan pusing2 kt situ.)

So aku suruh mmbr aku tu call adik dia Kebetulan dia pun pg party kat club tu. (Mmg nice sgt la, kalau aku tau dari awal mmg suruh jd spy. ) aku tanya. Dia kata member dia,gf,bini aku dan sorang lg mamat ni dah gerak lama dah pkul 1.15am mcm tu naik satu kereta mercedes G Wagon putih VRC 1 something.. korek2 punya korek2 kereta tu kereta anak vip or kerabat. aku mcm what?!. Siapa sial?.

(Btw cousin dia ni influencer, follower 400k. So faham2 la circle dia mcm mne kan.)

Aku tak tau apa nak buat next. Aku tanya adik member aku tu, dia pun tak tahu diorg pergi mana. Aku suruh dia text n call member dia (bf cousin) tapi dia kata call tak angkat and whatsapp belum read. So aku tunggu update and aku plan nak gerak je kt situ. Tapi aku tgk time dah 2.50am dah. Dan member adik aku tu dah nak gerak balik and dia kata club tu pun dah nak kemas2 dan still takde reply dari member dia (bf cousin). Aku mmg dah takleh brain dgn mata dah barai.

Ting! Whatsapp aku bunyi around 3.10am.

AO3 Namechange

Just as a heads up, my AO3 profile now matches my name here: TrialByStory. That's the important part, but if you ever wanted to know why it was previously LloydWallace and why my tumblr, mastodon, and now AO3 are trialByStory, read on.

LloydWallace was a high-school era choice made because my username at the time was easily misreadable and I wanted something LRR could actually pronounce when they did subscriber thank-yous on twitch. It was specifically the name of a character in a story I'd been writing based off a forum RP with a close friend**. A bit before I got back into writing with SoC I'd just picked out trialByNarrative as the name of a potential sideproject intended to be video essays about stories and escapism. That plan didn't happen, but I liked the name so I kept using it as I signed up for new things. Except trialByNarrative was too long for some things so I shortened it to trialByStory.

As for why it's changing now? I randomly decided to change the theme for tumblr and the new one has a convenient space to easily had some custom stuff and I decided one of the custom stuffs should be an AO3 link, during the process of which I decided spur of the moment to unify my various still-active accounts under a single moniker.

**The friend from that forum RP very much still uses his character's name, btw. If you're ever in the mood for some EDM jams check out the illustrious Clyde Machine, and if you're into VRChat, he helps organize & promote shows in the VRC club scene and even plays the occasional set himself.

Through Ancient Eyes - Virtual Photography Challenge - July 2023

I actually managed to curate three images and submit them on time this month!

ghosts in the bricks - AudioOrbs - For some reason AudioOrbs is the world that has best helped me acclimate to VRC (vertigo and social anxiety haha). The recent update has a Minecraft forest theme, and I took my camera to the rails to capture the fuzzy contours of this ethereal landscape. toxic ancient - Club Ancients˸ MELTDOWN - Learning to kitbash, texture and sculpt have all been hard work! At the opening of the new club I obnoxiously knelt down on the floor in the stairwell and got the focus right on a few shots! I love the shapes that the last minute hair choice create, they mimic the teeth in the neon dino logo. I tend to rely on color to do the talking in my work and have been trying to make my values more dynamic… idk dog I like the shapes this one makes when I squint my eyes really hard and that’s usually a good sign of defined objects? we are here - Furality Sylva Club Fynn - I shot this selfie at Furality with the idea of the cave opening being a silhouette around my head, but the values of the original were too similar. So I had a really fun time blowing out the values (Affinity Photo) and wondering What If Cardboard, as garbage is a personal motif. I think works that make your brain fill in the gaps are neat.

i've been feeling like i might get a little adventurous wrt my tendency to play vrc alone. maybe i'll go sit silently in a public fishing world. and then go back home to my painting world immediately afterward

actually i've been thinking a lot about going clubbing... i mentioned it on my main, but i saw on reddit that people were complaining that nobody wanted to talk to them in club worlds, they just wanted to dance silently. and that does sound good to me. but also idk which worlds to go to. or when. hmm.
