Also something I've noticed why Shamura being that bitch it doesn't come to me as completely unsympathetic or meant to be %100 cruel. "You refused to bow did you not" speaks volumes imho. You didn't break or fell to grief then you WON'T do it now. Both meant to sting a little and give them a chin up...at least that's how I interprited it. Will they accept it? Will he and lamb finally have the conversation about...EVERYTHING they need to have? Narinder , why everything went the way it did , the lambs , godhood... because if the bloody MS tells me Shamura didn't need them because how brilliant they are then I would DAMN well want to have them as an advisor.

I dont think Shamura is necesarily evil either, mostly stating things as they are. While they are doing things out of their own interest and dont care to be kind about it, still its way better to have them as an ally me thinks. Even if its little what they can contribute in their current state its still valuable.

With Graz'tchar no longer in Chetney's possession (for now?), here's a look at how long it's taken Travis's characters to be parted from their cursed swords.

Episode and day counts are inclusive of the episodes and days acquired and lost, regardless of when in the episode or day that happened. Please have some grace: I'm bad at counting. For the purposes of this list, not all these swords are traditionally cursed—but they all certainly have the emotional weight or vibe of being so.

Grog and Craven Edge: 15 episodes (acquired 1.36, relinquished 1.50); 23 to 17 days (13-19 Duscar to 3 Horisal). This is counting from when it specifically went to Grog. The sword went into the communal bag of holding that Grog had after the fight with the Briarwoods at the ziggurat in 1.34. It went into Percy's possession initially, and he kept it for a week but refused to be its wielder; it was then traded to Grog. Banished into the Dread Emperor's realm after it devoured Grog's soul.

Grog and the Sword of Kas: 4 episodes (acquired 1.112, relinquished 1.115); 1 day in Exandria (15 Misuthar), about 2 days for Grog because of Feywild shenanigans. Acquiring this sword is what accidentally revealed Vox Machina's location to Vecna in Thar Amphala and caused them to flee into the Feywild. After the banishment of Vecna, Grog voluntarily—though the sword put up a fight—gave it to Highbearer Vord.

Fjord and the Sword of Fathoms: 72 episodes (acquired pre-campaign, relinquished 2.72); over 191 days, or about 6 months (roughly 7 Sydenstar to 18 Misuthar). This is counting from when Fjord began traveling with Jester, though he had it a little longer than that since the Tide's Breath sank and Fjord entered his pact an unspecified little bit before that. It was his mechanical pact boon, thus bound to his soul, starting 20 Sydenstar, 177 days. Voluntarily thrown into the lava pools at the Kiln in Kravaraad, breaking his pact.

Bertrand and the Gambler's Blade: 5 episodes (acquired before Search for Grog, relinquished 3.03), or at least 31 years (812 to 843 PD). No hints as to when specifically Bertrand got this sword, but he had it in Search for Grog and still had it when Campaign 3 started. He died with it in his possession—but weirdly enough, it did not contribute to his death. Dorian has it now.

Chetney and Graz'tchar: 6 episodes (acquired 3.67, relinquished 3.72); 4 days (7 Quen'pillar to 10 Quen'pillar). This is counting from when Chet picked it up at the end of 3.67 since it went into his personal inventory then, though it was officially confirmed into his possession at the top of 3.68. Reluctantly given to Novos as part of a deal negotiated by Laudna.

Bonus, because it isn't a sword but I think this is funny—Grog and the cursed adamantine hammer: 1 episode (1.110), less than a day (15 Misuthar). Picked up in the crypts of Thomara, used for one combat during which he hit himself in the face, then immediately discarded.

oh interesting! i actually didnt notice that when i was watching it. i went back to rewatch the scene a few times and i think whats actually going on is the dawnmartials (which includes highbearer vord) are just holding a meeting in the temple of erathis, percy even says they come from different temples. bahamut probably still has his own somewhere, we just dont get to see it, i dont think theyre merged. but the choice to show less bahamut in general could be because a "good dragon god" might be confusing, like you said

Her kindness and patience? Like. Allura's been through it. She fought Thordak the first time around. She lost half her party doing so. She was there for the attack on the Sovereign and his weird behaviour after and these new weirdos showing up and getting involved and revealing there's another fucking dragon and also demons in the Cloudtop-

And she's still so kind. She's patient with them, helps them. Even during the Briarwood Arc, she extends them trust, going to them to ask why Tiberius murdered someone fleeing them. She's been through so much and she still chooses kindness. It's really good.

It's not really about her but there's a mix up in how she's described. At one point she's described as being part-elven and another human, and the general way of it is she's shown as human.

Now that's fine, more human characters, fantastic but.

We already have lifespan angst with Vax (championified), Percy (human, traumatised, tortured), Vex (will outlive all her kids as well as her husband), Grog (will be outlived by Scanlan and Pike by a considerable amount) and Keyleth (will outlive them ALL)

And I would like one case with perhaps a bit less lifespan angst, pretty please?

So for this reason I like to consider Allura quarter-elven, or variant human for sake of stats, where what she gets from it is all the good aging genes, so Kima doesn't have to grow old without her lovely wife.

Various of Allura's knickknacks in her tower are actually gifts and mementoes from the late members of her old adventuring party. It's why her tower has such a thorough security mechanism in shrinking down into a pearl - so those mementoes are protected from destruction alongside the tower.

Probably what I said above in the NOTP part - I do think Allura/Tiberius could have been interesting if Orion had improved himself and shown willing to let Tiberius be flawed and grow himself. But then, most opinions that aren't full on NOPE about Tiberius tend to be unpopular.

Medic: Vell, not everything is known about DID, but it seems to be caused by trauma in early childhood. Since zhat is vhen our personality and identity develops zhe most, zhe trauma can cause a fracture, developing alters to support or carry zhe pain.

Or so she had thought, during her time in Croyso. Yet here in front of her is Lady Kima of Vord, no less a lady than herself and yet... a warrior in her own right.

A lie comes to mind, one that Maximilian can't quite allow herself to verbalize. Riftan doesn't believe women should fight. It wasn't true; he had fought alongside Princess Agnes during the dragon campaign, and who knew how many others? No, his refusal for women fighting began and ended... with her.

"Riftan... is w-worried for my health," she begins softly, eyes downcasting to avoid looking at her as she speaks against her husband. Then, fists clenching, she looks back to Kima with a rare fierceness in her gaze, "B-but I am not as weak as he believes me to be!"

A Space Odyssey

Thursday 20th July

The RAF have had a military presence at Saxa Vord, on the opposite side of the inlet or voe, to Hermaness, since the Second World War, with a Radar Station on the hill, symbolised by its radar tracking huge golf ball, similar to Great Dunn Fell. It closed in 2006 as it was becoming too expensive to maintain, but reopened in 2019 due to increased Russian military activity. About two kilometres across the hill, on the Skaw headland is the new Saxa Vord Spaceport, formerly the Shetland Space Centre, on the Lamba Ness peninsula. Tests for the first UK vertical rocket launch have already taken place, and the launch itself is scheduled for later this year. Three launch pads will enable 30 launches per year, for orbital rockets for satellites.

Surprisingly, the only objections came from Historical Scotland who withdrew them in 2022, stating that they recognised the benefits that this would bring to the area, in terms of employment, and the visitor’s centre as a tourist attraction.

Tours are taking place at the moment, but more controversial, is for how long the land I have wandering around over for the last couple of days, and up at Skaw Beach, will be accessible to the public. The large grey house, and the white cottage on the beach here at Norwick, are set for compulsory purchase, and no longer occupied. The former was a retirement property that a local farmer had worked on for several years, and the latter a holiday rental. Both on the photo below.

At the moment security is minimal, just an old guy in a portacabin bored out of his mind. The ‘warning’ sign seems in jest rather than with any seriousness to it. No doubt things will change quickly.

I met four older women sat having lunch on the beach at Skaw. They came from the Mainland island and told me they take their holidays annually here on Unst. They pondered what it might be like to watch a launch from a position sat on Skaw beach. It certainly would be a pity if there was no access to this far northeasterly part of Unst. It seems this little corner of wild UK will be a lot less wild in a few months.

I put a hike together that started on the old road between Norwick and Skaw. It is closed and has fallen into disrepair..

Then past the space port, and the old man in his portacabin, who Roja surprised so much that he hastily put away his magazine. The road runs out at Skaw, where there claims to be the most northerly house in Britain, and the terminus of the Northern Cycle Route.

Beyond are Vendra Stacks and a small wild island called the Holm of Skaw. There were a couple of showers during the three hours or so that we were out, but the strong northwesterly kept them short, and the temperature at about 10C.

Back at Norwick beach dog walkers came and went, some stopped to chat, and ask the Test match score. I’ve watched only bits of this series, listened to a lot more of it on the radio, but some of the places I have watched it in have been quite distractingly spectacular.

Unst Fest doesn’t name a venue for its outdoor events until shortly before, due to weather conditions. This afternoon at 4 pm there was a kids disco, for the 6 to 12 age group, and it was on Norwick beach, about 50 metres from where I had the Ashes on. It didn’t disturb me at all, fifty or more kids painting each other, dancing, and playing various other games in the sand and the sea. Most of them were completely soaked after the hour was up. With the temperature at 10 degrees, one can only admire their toughness. I didn’t see anyone complain, and it rained hard at one time, with the sand blowing around.

English to become the official European language

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

Extremely quick incomplete history of Exandria with the main focus on Wildemount timeline

made mostly because I was like ‘uh when did Molaesmyr fall relative to Aeor’ after last episode; all info summarized from Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount or events of Campaign 2; I know the Tal’Dorei guide and High Bearer Vord’s story has some more information but that’s less relevant here.

Long before divergence: creation of the world, granting of divine magic, fight of the peoples of Exandria against the Primordials during which arcane magic was given to the peoples of Exandria, founding of the city of Vasselheim

Pre-divergence: Age of Arcanum (lots of arcane magic, tons of flying cities, including Aeor, Zemniaz, and Kethesk. When Halas and Siff Duthar lived). Ascension of The Raven Queen. Release of the Betrayer Gods by Vespin Chloras. Founding of city of Ghor Dranas by the Betrayer gods at the site of modern-day Rosohna. Ghor Dranas attacked Vasselheim and was barely defeated by the Prime Deities.

Calamity: Following the battle between the gods, people turned to dangerous war magics and eventually a world-wide conflict broke out, destroying most of civilization (all but Vasselheim) and killing approximately 2/3rds of the world population. Aeor was thrown into Eiselcross during this time.

Divergence (year 0 or 1 PD): Signifies the end of the Calamity, with the Prime Deities sealing away the Betrayer gods along with themselves behind the Divine Gate.

Beginning ca 100 PD: The Veluthil Forest, a patch of forest that escaped an arcane forest fire that burned for over a century following the Calamity thanks to blessings from Melora and Corellon, becomes home to the new elven city of Molaesmyr.

Prior to 400 PD: In the Swavain Islands, the Ki’Nau people begin Uk’otoa worship

0-500 PD: Grimgolir (Dwarven society) founded in the Dunrock Mountains, Julous Dominion founded in Western Wynandir centered in Zadash, Kamordah founded as a separate society which worshiped a primordial being of fire. In northern/central Wildemount, the survivors of Zemniaz developed their own society and founded Rexxentrum.

Uthodurn is founded in the Flotket alps by members of the Grimgol Dwarf clan, presumably who fled north rather than south during the Calamity.

The Kryn Dynasty is founded by drow who came to the surface from the underdark beneath Ghor Dranas, having developed a faith in the Luxon. The new city on the wreckage of Ghor Dranas is named Rosohna, meaning Rebirth.

Draconia is founded by survivors of the floating city of Kethesk (draconbloods), who initially allied with the native dragonborn of the Dreemoth Ravine (ravenites) to build a new floating city but eventually enslaved them.

Beginning ca 400 PD: Marquet makes contact with the Swavain Islands off the coast of Western Wildemount in the Lucidian Ocean, makes an alliance permitting the creation of an outpost known as Damali. Shortly after a Ki’Nau conflict with the Vukan, a third party, who were annihilated by Uk’otoa in the process (the Marquesians were allied with the Ki’Nau), Uk’otoa was sealed away via three temples by worshipers of Zehir among the Marquesians. The Menagerie Coast begins to develop via Marquesian and Ki’Nau settlers on the mainland, and at some point prior to the present day the cities along the coast unite into the Clovis Concord.

539 PD: founding of the Dwendalian Empire by Eckhardt Dwendal, a powerful Rexxentrum merchant, and his son Manfried.

544-546 PD: Marrow War between the Dwendalian Empire and Julous Dominion during which the Julous Dominion also quashed an uprising in Kamordah. Ended with the execution of the leaders of the Julous Dominion during peace talks with Emperor Manfried, with the stated reason being they had attempted an assassination. This led to the Julous Dominion being incorporated into the empire.

circa 571 PD: Eve of Crimson Midnight, a brief but violent conflict in Rexxentrum between arcane practitioners originating in the Dwendalian Empire vs. those originally from the Julous Dominion. Many civilians were killed and the remaining mages were brought before the king as prisoners. The Cerberus Assembly was founded as a result, in explicit service to the Dwendalian Emperor.

585 PD: sudden toxic purple-gray blight emerged from the center of Molaesmyr, destroying the city. Some survivors fled northwest to the Pearlbow Wilderness and founded Bysaes Tyl; others fled northeast and eventually found Uthodurn, were taken in as refugees and eventually equal members of the Uthodurnian Diarchy.

571 PD - 835 PD: expansion of the Dwendalian Empire into Grimgolir, ongoing cold war and occasional skirmishes with Xhorhas and the Kryn Dynasty, treaties made with the Clovis Concord on the Western Coast of Wildemount.

815 PD: Fall of Draconia during the Chroma Conclave, which primarily affected Tal’Dorei and Issylra.

835 PD: Attack on the halls of Erudition in Zadash by the Kryn Dynasty.

For perspective

- Any survivors of the Calamity are either, for lack of a better term, a non-playable race (ie, dragons, archfey, etc) or have engaged in life-extending magic of some sort (consecution being the most commonly seen one - we know the Bright Queen is over 1000 years old - but there could be archdruids and people who have engaged in necromancy and other age of arcanum methods a la Halas). As such nearly all of the people in Wildemount who remember the Calamity first-hand are going to be high-level Kryn Dynasty officials, and most if not all of those were born as drow who would have experienced the Calamity living in the underdark beneath the city of Ghor Dranas.

- on the other hand, plenty of elves and older dwarves, gnomes, and firbolgs may recall the Marrow War/founding of the Dwendalian Empire, fall of Molaesmyr, and development of the Menagerie Coast and Clovis Concord. Ludinus is indicated to be from Molaesmyr pre-fall, Yussa could very likely be an original Marquesian settler to the Menagerie coast, and Cornelius, Constance, and Corrin probably remember the fall of Molaesmyr. Dagen might have been a child in Uthodurn prior to the arrival of the Molaesmyr refugees, and so on.

- Caleb and Fjord may have clear first-hand memories of hearing about the fall of Draconia; Veth, Jester, and Beau may have hazier ones, and it’s unknown if Yasha or Caduceus would have been aware.

Just did a whole bunch of iterations on this fullbody for Vord, showing him in different clothes and different stages on his journey throughout the campaign so far. The first two are from the start of the campaign. Vord has fewer horns on his head, and less oxidation turning them green, showing that he’s younger. He’s also less muscular and more emaciated-looking. The bandages at this point only go up to his forearms. The next two are what he looks like now, he bought a new more fancy pair of pants, and aquired the belt of the liondragons, which is the yellow ribbon wrapped around his chest. The blue colors he’s wearing are a symbol of the position of the balance keeper. A responsiblity he’s now trying to rise up to rather than trying to run away from it.

 So this sword, the Holy Avenger, that Lady Kima of Vord lent to Yahsa is a very interesting object. ****It cannot go without stating that had Travis not rolled a Nat20 on his persuasion check, it is possible that Kima would have provided some other sword, of lesser ability to Yasha & not this one. So thank the gods for Travis’ dice **** It is a massive sword with some pretty awesome properties. It a sword that is usually wielded by paladins though & made apparent that Yasha might not be able to use it at its full potential because of this. However, there are options that can be present to change this. Yasha can multi class to a paladin. This would cause a huge jump in her charisma though since it would need to be a 13 & Yasha is famous for her 7 in charisma. The other is that with her character already being a divine entity that once she finishes whatever the Stormlord has in mind for her she would be worthy enough to attune to it. As a Protector Aasimar, they fight against evil & stand against darkness (sorta some of the same aspects of a paladin), basically a warrior for their god. This is technically what Yasha is for Kord. She has followed him & been faithful to the point that she was no longer fallen after she was released from Obann (hence the wings). Has done as he has asked, fought creatures sent to her as tests & won & pretty much not once questioned or complained, even when it took her from the group. During her dream, the Stormlord calls her an avatar which can mean so so much. This could mean that eventually she will seek out the vestige that is known as the Stormgirdle (pretty dope item), but it could mean that he will grant her the ability to attune to the sword when she proves worthy enough. I don’t know what that it is, but I do hope that it happens before the confrontation with the TombTakers.

And on a side note, Ashley has the best reactions when it comes to Matt being focused on her. This dream was uneventful compared to some & lasted less than 5 min. She becomes so invested in his words & even has tears by the time Matt has finished & moved on to Caleb & Beau. ****I also watched Marisha on a replay & she becomes just as effected by what is being said****   This is a testament in my eyes as how connected she is to this character & for the four or so hours that she sits in that chair, she is mainly Yasha Nydoorin with little peaks of Ashley throughout. In the things I have watched her in, like Blindspot for instance, she becomes that character but never completely losing herself in the role. ****If you don’t know, she makes references to playing DnD on the show & she even has her Critical Role VM coffee mug with her in a few shots. It’s pretty sweet****

I am very interested to see what happens with the Holy Avenger & her path to being able to wield it at its full potential.
