I’m now very curious what your opinions on kagehina are after seeing your tags under that fanon post 👀

no strong opinions really, just not the most popular opinion from what I've seen. I fully understand the ship, but based on the source material alone I don't see their relationship that way at all, and I think it's much more interesting as it's presented in the show vs through a romantic lens. After watching through the whole show these last couple months, I think all of haikyuu is more interesting actually when you don't ship the characters, but also it's a male dominated shonen with an ensemble cast and it's very easy to ship almost any two characters together so I understand why it's so popular to do so.

All that said, I do ship Hinata and Kenma a lil bit. what can you do, I think they're neat. I also like them a lot as a friendship too. I'm not really picky, because I love the source material as is and the source material is by and large not romantic, therefore almost all of the dynamics are built on a sports foundation, which as a sports girly, I really love.

But yeah I just think kagehina is much more interesting as a complex teammate/duo relationship where they're both each other's biggest rival and most important collaborator. They're linked on the court because of what they can do with each other that no one else can do, but sort of reluctantly close friends off the court. I also think their roles in the story are very interesting, I like the way they complement and mirror each other, the way they support and challenge each other, and I just think they have a really fun and fascinating dynamic as presented in canon. I think putting them into a romantic context kind of flattens all that and also tends to severely mischaracterize them and their dynamic.

In short they're just much more interesting to me as teammates than they are as love interests.

i think something people forget about pink diamond is that she had compassion for life long before she went to earth

the pebbles assume steven is pink not because of his gem or aura but just because he says ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ to them, a basic common courtesy that nobody else has given them in thousands of years

in steven’s pink visions, blue is yelling at pink about the little bugs she let loose on homeworld. when one of them is found in her cell, she is quick to check it’s okay before helping it out of the room. even before encountering humans she valued organic life.

even the garden, the setting of pink’s cruellest moment, is proof of her care for organic life. Unlike every other part of homeworld, the garden is teeming with plant-life, which was kept healthy enough that it continued to grow even after pink abandoned it. the only other homeworld structure that tends to organic life is the human zoo. who’s to say the garden wasn’t another attempt by the other diamonds to placate pink after she expressed concern for the life on one of their colonies? or maybe pink picked the plants herself from the many different colonies she visited and grew them there.

pink wasn’t perfect. she had a bad habit of acting on her emotions and impulses without considering the consequences of her actions, and she hurt a lot of people because of it. but she considered all life precious and worth protecting, it just wasn’t until she had a colony of her own that she fully understood that the expansion of homeworld was intrinsically linked to the destruction of life, and the moment she realised that is the moment she stood against it.

Early this morning I received a message informing me that one of my friends and fellow dancers from the dance studio made an attempt to end her own life last night. Shock, disbelief, confusion and worry are swirling for me right now. I have so many questions like what the hell happened, what was going on for Erika that led her to this?

Thankfully Erika is still alive & currently in the hospital receiving medical attention and treatment. I know the holidays are extremely difficult for so many people & I don't know if that contributed to Erika's decision to attempt suicide but if you are reading this and struggling or lonely or stressed or feeling suicidal this holiday season please talk to someone. You can message me on either of my blogs (this one or my main one).

One thing I have gathered about Erika is whatever problems she was having she hid it & kept it all to herself- to deal with alone. Her family has told me that they never knew anything was wrong and that is the same for myself, & our other friends. I wish she would have talked to someone, talked to me. I know many people hesitate to reach out especially surrounding mental health problems but dealing alone comes at a major price and it's not helpful. Again, my inbox is open if you decide you don't want to first talk to someone directly in your life. I don't have any degrees or many answers but I can be here. This post is giving a PSA vibe but I wanted to put this out there. It's important.

akaashi and suga live together!! kenma lives in their building and also he spends more time in their apartment than his own (he hates his roommates). tbh this goes for all of them. kageyama goes to a different college than the rest of them and he lives on campus in the athlete dorms. oikawa and atsumu live in the athlete dorms on their campus. and just to clarify, oikawa and atsumu are not roommates. (but oh my god could you imagine)

and ykw i'll expand outside the "main" six for fun. shirabu and yahaba are roommates. yes, this is as disastrous as you'd expect. semi lives in an apartment with the other stz third years (tendou, ushijima, reon, yamagata). kogane lives with goshiki.
