Asahi Azumane headcanons

• Meeting Azumane would have probably be one of the cliche situations. Kageyama and Hinata would chase each other down the school hallway and spill milk on your uniform. You would panic because you would have classes with a hateful teacher who would pick on you about every single thing. Asahi would lend you his much too big sweater to cover the stain. In fact, Nishinoya would have kicked his friend to do it because he couldn't say a word.

• You would meet again a day later when you gave him his freshly washed sweater. Years later, when he had found his way into a design career, you would ask him to recreate the clothes. This way, you would end up with a pair of matching sweaters that you wouldn't want to part with because they would remind you of how you two met.

• Azumane has a lot of trouble talking to people in general. High school was a time when every interaction really cost him a lot of willpower and courage. You would have to be a person who could rise to the occasion. Break the ice gently and at the same time be persistent because Asahi would not always be able to stir the conversation in a right direction.

• Your admiration for his volleybal skills would give him restless nights. He would dwell on the fact that you emphasized that he was an ace against one of the rival teams long after you had done so. To tell you the truth, you'd probably forget about it the day after the case compared to him.

• At first, your friends would probably advise you against getting to know Asahi. After all, there were a lot of rumors about him. Number one, of course, was the one according to which he had gangster connections or was the boss of the yakuza. Only when they spent some time with him would they realize that deep down he was truly charming. They would put up a good word for him in front of your family before they knew him. The first time he met them, he would have been a nervous wreck and the look on his face didn't announce anything good. Until he meekly offered to help with every household chore he came across, which convinced absolutely everyone in your family that he's a good person (and their new "chore slave").

• As an adult, Asahi would have overcome his fears to a large extent, so he would have appreciated even more that you were there for him in times when things were different. Which doesn't change the fact that he would prefer spending time in the comfort of your home as opposed to going out. At least not very often. However, this does not apply to matches. He would always find time to watch volleyball. Even after he stopped playing it. He even spent his salary once to go to Brazil and watch Hinata's match with you.

random headcanons that have been living in my head rent free

thinking about ….

suna rintarō going to japan nationals and meeting his first young fans (who are like 5 years-old) before a match and they will do his infamous pose. he gets all flustered because these children are the first ones who don’t get intimidated by his gaze, which is why he does the pose as well, small blush faintly evident on his face when the children giggle in joy

kita shinsuke visiting onigiri miya quite often to watch the msby match with aran and osamu, while cheering loudly for his old teammate. and when he gets home to his granny, he will humbly reside the whole match while proudly stating that he’s grateful to have been the captain of his talented underclassmen. he would also personally deliver his rice to osamu and they would reminisce on their high school years

bokuto kōtarō having an press interview after the match, all sweaty and still full of adrenaline, while trying to look at each individual camera exclaiming how elated he feels that they won the match. however, by doing so he makes the camera crew feel kinda dizzy when trying to keep up with his energetic movements. he keeps on jumping up and down and his arms are going everywhere, almost hitting atsumu in the process who is standing next to him, having his own interview

sakusa kiyoomi keeping every single gift and letter from fans, especially his young fans. he puts all the letters in different plastic folders so they don’t crinkle and places the folders in a big album (kinda like a photo album, but with letters) and he often browse through it before bed. the gifts are displayed in a special display cabinet. he also stops when fans recognize him and he will take a picture with them and his fans know how crowds make him feels. that’s why they keep a safe distance from him, while forming a line so he won’t feel overwhelmed

hinata shōyō taking natsu on vacation to brazil when he’s on his break from volleybal and showing her all the sights and hotspots he’s been to during his time there. he also takes her to the people he met. on his vacation, he reunites with nishinoya and asahi who are visiting brazil as well. shōyō would try to teach them all basic portuguese, noya would teach shōyō how to fish and asahi takes natsu on a shopping trip to the local markets/shops. they would also play a lot of beach volleybal and later group face-time with the old team

Since it's Olympics time, I'm curious- who out of the s2 cast would be watching the Olympics? What events do they watch? What country/countries are they cheering for?

it is? i really need to get out of this work bubble, holy shit. anywaaay, olympics and the islanders! let's talk about it.

bobby. i get the feeling he enjoys things that he could never do, like gymnastics. he's often in awe of what those people can do and cheers for underdogs in the categories. (i'm brazilian and we have a great selection but we're never favorites so i'm biased and say he would cheer for us).

carl. an anon made an observation about table tennis. i have to agree that this could be the thing he watches.

elisa. she doesn't like admitting but she loves watching figure skating. it's graceful and complicated, extremely challenging and i reckon she's into it. cheering for the previous winning country.

gary. definitely likes weight throwing and football. often yelling at the screen when someone makes a mistake and there's always food involved. for football he's cheering for brazil, mostly because we're the best but we always lose in the olympics (i'm not crying you are).

hannah. also gymnastics, it's fascinating how the athletes move and are so graceful. cheering for the favorites every time.

henrik. skips. he doesn't seem to stay focused for more than wo minutes and is bored when sports happen on a screen. live watching would be a different experience though.

ibrahim. golf. not much to say here why, but he's following it closely on the screen and WILL get heated about mistakes. cheering for the poc, because he knows how hard it is to make a name in such a posh sport.

kassam. skiiiiiiiiips.

lottie. skips as well. "there's nothing interesting to me about sports on the telly, or even live.". cuts to midnight she's on her phone with headphones watching figure skating and bawling about a perfect pirouette.

lucas. fancing. no one can change my mind he actually had practices back in school. and rowing of course. he cheers for the favorites and gets very serious about it. probably bets on it too. expect cigars and scotch when he's watching.

marisol. SKIP. hard. she gets it but she doesn't want to watch it.

noah. for the sake of keeping up with something he's watching, mostly team sports, like volleybal. he'll be citing articles about athletes and their injuries or preparation during the entire thing, or at least a good portion of it.

priya. SKIP. absolutely skip.
