New Post has been published on https://www.vividracing.com/blog/cts-turbo-release-drop-in-turbo-for-audi-vw-ea888-3/
CTS Turbo Release Drop-In Turbo for Audi / VW EA888.3
We are so happy to announce some good news from CTS Turbo for owners of MQB vehicles. The company has released a budget-friendly-direct-bolt-on hybrid turbocharger for the 2015-2020 MQB platform. The kit is available in our shop for $1,499.99. CTS Turbo as a leading brand in the automotive industry is known for manufacturing and wholesaling performance parts for late-model Audi, BMW, and Volkswagen, their latest release fits all MQB-based EA888.3 vehicles such as:
2015-2019 VW Golf/Sportwagen/Alltrack
2015-2020 VW GTI
2015-2019 VW Golf R
2019-2023 VW Jetta GLI
2018-2021 VW Arteon
2015-2020 Audi A3
2015-2020 Audi S3
2015-2020 Audi TT
2015-2020 Audi TTS
ROW models can vary
This turbocharger will change your driving experience like never before by giving your ride massive power gains and superior performance. With this turbocharger, the engineers at CTS Turbo took successful features from their previous releases and made them better. They kept the journal bearing CHRA from the IS38 turbocharger and increased the thrust bearings and thrust collars by 2 mm, to match the larger wheels and the performance-oriented nature of this upgrade.
They also increased the turbo’s oil passages by 0.72mm and put the turbo through extensive in-house tests to make sure that it delivers the highest performance at different altitudes and climates. Their main goals were to manufacture a turbocharger with fast spool times, massive torque gains, and reliable solid mid-range performance, so its safe to say that the CTS Turbo JB-600 Journal Bearing Hybrid Turbocharger MQB Platform 2015-2020 delivers that and more.
Designed for street use, this turbocharger delivers approximately 600 crank hp, around 520-530whp on E85 and 430-460whp on pump 93 octane**. As a performance upgrade, this turbocharger will do wonders for the power and efficiency of your MQB platform. You should also know that this system is engineered to be very durable and withstand the high-performance demands you intend to put it through.
Features
Perfect street turbocharger upgrade, fantastic spool, and mid-range response
Journal bearing direct-fit CHRA (compatible with all factory oil and coolant lines)
Billet reverse rotation compressor wheel, 53.1mm inducer, 71mm-76mm exducer with extended tip (6+6 blade configuration)

Performance air intake
Performance intercooler
Factory or aftermarket wastegate actuator
Software tuning for hybrid turbo
Installation hardware for factory turbocharger, listed at the bottom of the page
Recommended Parts (Not Included):
2.5″ turbo outlet pipe
MPI kit and upgraded fuel pump, confirm with your tuner

High-flow exhaust
Notes:
Always follow the proper procedure for checking/adjusting the wastegate actuator when installing the turbo! Recommended wastegate actuator voltage: 3.4V-3.6V
We recommend keeping the boost within 25-28psi, less if you’re limited by fueling or a stock engine. Do not exceed the recommended boost range, as it will reduce efficiency.
Installation must be performed by a qualified technician. Always pre-fill the turbocharger, replace engine oil and filter, and follow proper break-in procedures.
Installation hardware or gaskets (use same install kit as the factory turbo), wastegate actuator, and turbo outlet fitting not included.
Hardware and gaskets required for installation:

Volkswagen Arteon R-Line Now Available in the UK
Volkswagen’s stylish new flagship, the Arteon, is today available to order for the first time from Volkswagen Retailers across the UK priced from £34,305.
A gran turismo with fastback styling, the 5-door, 5-seat Arteon combines sports car details with luxury motoring in a muscular yet elegant design.
Sitting above the globally successful Passat in the comprehensive Volkswagen range the new Arteon brings more space, premium functionality and greater levels of autonomy than ever before.
With a length of 4,862 mm, width of 1,871 mm and a height of 1,450 mm the Arteon is proportioned to carry five people in considerable comfort, while the generous wheelbase of 2,837 mm allows best-in-class legroom of 1,016 mm. Luggage space is 563 liters with the rear seats in place, rising to a cavernous 1,557 liters of available carrying capacity when the rear seats are folded.
Bristling with advanced technology, including the debut of a number of newly enhanced assistance systems, the Arteon is efficient and powerful with a distinct performance character, yet it is also a comfortable and relaxing drive.
Powerful, yet frugal
In the UK, the Arteon range will initially feature three turbo charged direct injection engines: a 280 PS 2.0 TSI (petrol); and two 2.0 TDI (diesel) engines with outputs of 240 PS and 150 PS.
In due course, additional engines will complete the range including Volkswagen’s newly designed 150 PS 1.5 TSI (petrol) Evo unit, featuring economy-boosting cylinder deactivation technology; and a 190 PS 2.0 TSI (petrol).
All the transversely mounted four cylinder engines can be combined with an automated DSG dual clutch seven-speed gearbox while the most potent units – the 280 PS 2.0 TSI and 240 PS 2.0 TDI – also boast Volkswagen 4MOTION all-wheel drive as standard. All other models have front-wheel drive. Additionally, 150 PS petrol- and diesel-engined Arteons will offer the option of a six-speed manual gearbox.
With a compelling breadth of performance and economy possibilities, the Arteon will sprint from 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds in 2.0 TSI 280 PS guise, while the 2.0 TDI 150 PS-equipped Arteon will offer 62.8 mpg* in the EU’s official combined fuel economy measure.

Driving A Premium Used VW Polo
Polo and Polo Vivo - Few cars are as synonymous with local success as Volkswagen seminal compact city car duo.
Since its launch, the Polo hatch has consistently been the second best-selling passenger car in South Africa with its sibling the Vivo being the local best-seller.
South Africans love the Polo almost as much as they enjoy a good braai; nearly 23 000 Polos were sold in 2017 alone.
In January 2018, Volkswagen launched its sixth-generation Polo locally. One of the benefits of having a group-wide platform (MQB AO) means technology and features will trickle down from more premium offerings, such as the Golf.
Some used VW Polo’s are longer, wider and, given a host of new tech, more premium than their predecessors. The 2018 Polo was the first to be equipped with digital instruments (borrowed from the Golf).
The range comprises five 1.0 TSI derivates (Trendline, Comfortline and Highline) in two engine outputs; 70kW/175Nm and 85kW/200Nm. Both engines can be mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG box.
The launch of the 2018 Polo was the culmination of an R 6.1-billion investment at VW’s factory in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape, where the new hatch will be assembled and sold both locally and internationally.
Given its new features, sportier design and legacy, will the new Polo become another best-seller locally?
Quick facts
Model: Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI
Prices: R235 000 - R302 000
Engine: 1.0-litre, 3-cyl, turbo-petrol
Power: 75kW, 85kW
Torque: 175Nm ; 200Nm
Transmissions: five-speed manual or seven-speed DSG
Driving it
What’s it like behind the wheel? In short, the 2018 model is more premium than the outgoing Polo, handles well on the road, offers a comfortable ride and is surprisingly brisk despite its 1.0-litre engine capacity (the only engine currently available until the 2.0-litre GTI arrives).
The 70kW version offers sufficient power and the 1-0-litre petrol performs adequately when mated to the 5-speed manual. The 7-speed DSG, another benefit from its Golf sibling, is incredibly smooth, swopping cogs accurately and with great rev-matching speed.
The 85kW Highline, mated to a DSG, elevates the Polo to Golf territory offering a comfortable, frugal (4.7-litres/100km) hatchback.
In terms of handling, the Polo offers enough grip for spirited driving with negligible body roll though city driving remains its strong suit.
The engine, especially in 70kW guise, has a laid-back approach and is a perfect match for its comfort-tuned suspension. Steering is precise, light and overall its agile enough to make a breeze of entering and extricating itself from tight parking spots. Overall, the Polo has grown up and has resolved many of the issues affecting the outgoing model.
The Polo has all the ingredients for a best-seller in SA and given its price point and positioning could grab sales from the high-end Golf.
Design
Like the Golf, Touran, Tiguan, Passat and Arteon, the Polo uses the VW group's MQB platform and as a result, gains many of the design and structural elements of its siblings.
It's a lot more assertive in appearance than its predecessor though borrows heavily from the current Golf especially its head- and taillights. The roofline is longer and a fine line runs along its flanks.
Range and dimensions
Based on the VW group's MQB A0 platform, the Polo sports new dimensions; length has been increased 81mm to 4053mm and wheelbase lengthened by 94mm to 2548mm. The hatchback is also 69mm wider to 1751mm though its height has been reduced by 7mm to 1461mm.
In addition to the three standard trim lines, the special edition Polo beats (with features including a 300-watt sound system), R-Line package (with a sporty exterior featuring C-shaped front air curtains, side sills, boot spoiler, rear diffuser and 17" Bonneville alloy wheels) and the performance-focused halo model, the Polo GTI, (available in South Africa in the second quarter), provide added variety.
Inside
A new dashboard and cockpit layout make its way into Volkswagen compact models. New for this generation of Polo are digital dials, a new dashboard, angled centre console as well as revised dials and controls. More than any other feature, the digital dash gives the Polo an upmarket position few of its rivals can match.
It’s a lot more practical too for families – boot space has increased from 280 to 351 litres.
Driver Assistance systems
New features for the Polo include the lane change system, blind spot monitor with rear traffic alert, semi-automated park assist, proactive occupant protection system and a manoeuvre braking function. The hatchback has optional keyless start.
Overview of standard features
Trendline:
Automatic Post-Collision Braking System as well as LED daytime running lights and front and rear curtain airbags. Front power windows, colour infotainment system with four speakers and a Connectivity Package featuring Bluetooth and USB also come as standard
Comfortline:
Multi-function Display “Plus”, the Composition Colour infotainment system with six speakers, leather multi-function steering wheel, Driver Alert System and front and rear electric windows
Highline:
Composition Media infotainment system, App Connect, Voice Control, Sport seats, Cruise Control with speed limiter and white LED ambient lighting (front doors and instrument panel).
Beats:
The new edition of the successful Polo beats special model has a 300-watt sound system from legendary US audio specialist ‘beats' (by Dr. Dre) and a whole array of customised features on board. The newly-designed amplifier and subwoofer are housed at the bottom of the boot to the left-hand side of the spare wheel well, where a full-size spare wheel is housed.
Related: Browse used VW Polo models available at Group 1 Cars.
The Comfortline and Highline trim versions can be further personalised by choosing the R-Line package.
R-Line:
The ‘R-Line' package makes the Polo even more dynamic with such features as 17-inch alloy wheels ('Bonneville'), a large, sporty front bumper and, at the rear, a diffuser with chrome trims and a roof spoiler. The Polo with R-Line package also has wrap-around black sill trim strips which visually press the car down to the road. The R-Line Package is only available in South Africa in the second quarter.
Convenience
The Polo can be further personalised and upgraded to satisfy individual budgets and tastes. New in the options programme are features such as high-intensity LED head- and tail light clusters and one of the largest panoramic sunroofs in its class (opening is 10mm wider and 20mm longer than before).

CarSpiritPK – Pakistan's Dedicated Automobile Blog
Changan Alsvin Master Changan Motors recently introduced the Alsvin subcompact sedan in Pakistan and the vehicle immediately created a buzz in our market. The company has received a massive response from the public with fully booked units until June 2021. While most of us have already seen the car in person, as we stood on the showroom floors, we already know a lot about it, but what do you want about driving and having the overall experience of this car? Thus, Changan Pakistan hosted an exclusive test drive event where top car bloggers and vloggers were invited to fully experience the new Alsvin sedan. Verdict The Volkswagen Arteon R Shooting Brake is a manufactured and exclusive fast station wagon. It’s a shame that the quality of the interior can’t match its image, but in typical VW R fashion, the driving dynamics of the hottest Arteon feel super safe and surprisingly fast. It supports many functions and many common kits. It may not be the most exciting machine in its class, but there are some situations where it can be felt from its depth-as long as you keep the adjustable suspension soft to maximize comfort. The machine also acquires a distinctive character. There’s a lot of phony going on through the in-cab speakers, which you may want to cut out, but the R mode mainly provides a higher throttle response. The thick midrange feels very strong, but the engine still pulls on its red line, clearly sliding to add to the fun. For a large machine with a long wheelbase it turns and handles with real agility, and 4WD also gives it safety so you can easily take advantage of what it has to offer, with torque vectoring as part of 4WD. Wheel drive helps to control the volume of the vehicle. However, the steering is inert like all fast VWs, offering a good level of accuracy but not much feedback - and the chassis isn’t too playful either. There’s a small amount of adaptability, but despite its capabilities, the Arteon R Shooting Brake isn’t a car you’ll try. It’s not a hot hatching, so it’s fine. It is relentlessly fast and efficient at moving the ground whether the road is flowing or winding. But there is a caat. Dynamic Chassis Control adaptive dampers feel better on the softer side of their shell, because with the R’s 19-inch wheels, the ride is intricate in more stable settings. In any case, the restraint of the body is affirmative, which contributes to the inspiring feeling. Put the drivetrain on the R and the suspension is very soft on the Individual and there is a good mix. FAW V2 Al-Haj FAW introduced the 1300cc V2 hatchback to Pakistan in 2014 as a CBU import. Since then, the FAW V2 has established itself as an affordable, reliable and versatile option in a market dominated primarily by underpowered, over-priced Suzukis. In August 2017, local assembly of the V2 hatchback started at the Al-Haj FAW assembly plant in Karachi. According to the company, sales of the V2 hatchback have risen 60% since local production began. The V2 surpasses its competitors in terms of features and equipment and, more importantly, the price difference. Although on paper it drives away opponents, but what does it want to own and keep one? We have collected opinions from many V2 users and their feedback has been positive. Syed Laraib Imtiaz is a technology innovator and consultant based in Karachi. He owns a locally built 2018 FAW V2 and he’s pretty happy with the car. According to him, the main reason for choosing the V2 is the features it offers at the price. I consider the Cultus, WagonR and imported options, but the V2 is the clearer winner. It seemed like a tough decision at first, but eventually it was pretty straightforward. Laraib has used a Pakistan -built V2 more than 3,000 kilometers so far and he said everyone was a smile. The car delivers up to 14.5 liters per kilometer within the city. Although there were some minor issues at first like the heating coming in automatic and 2nd gear which was a bit difficult. But both problems were solved by the dealer. Commenting on the comfort, Laraib said: ‘The interior is very spacious and the car is a pleasure to drive. In fact it is very fun to drive, it is honestly the VW Golf Gti of Pakistan.’
