Dance festival specific clothing for a region where thaumaturges and Mermaids live together.
A spin on a local mermaid dance, where they thrown each other out of the water and perform spins and other various acrobatics.
As years pass and the two cultures meet and costumes take different shapes, thaumaturges started trying to join Mermaids by extending walkable platforms across the rivers where they normally dance, started out as small wooden planks and eventually turned into elastic ropes.
The dance is formally preformed by 2 thaumaturges and 4 Mermaids. For the thaumaturges it involves stretching and pulling the rope be it horizontally or vertically, jumping swinging that sort of stuff. Movements vary depending on the music. They also pull the ropes all the way from one side to another to open space for the mermaids while they jump. Mermaids jump out of the water and do acrobatics as usual, but they use the ropes as well, to propel themselves but to also catch their falls. Usually a Mermaid is always left in the water to help their mates back up out of it if necessary if not they are with the thaumaturges on the ropes.
Both of them wear clothes with lots of small strings and fabric to follow their movements, there exists ocassion-specific clothing that celebrates a certain event/ocassion but they all follow the same principles of flowy garments at the extremities and middle of the body. They cant be too long tho, so that they dont get caught up on anything while performing.
Music, again, varies depending on the ocasion but its very similar to brazillian samba, theres lots of stuff happening at the same time during a performace so a strong rhythm is very important. Dance is normally not accompanied by vocals/lyrics but if it is its normally sang by the dancers.

Today marks one year since Issay's passing. I honestly thought about so many things, how I could honor him, and I thought the perfect thing to do would be to go to the cemetery. I bought him a bouquet of roses, and I decided to place it on some of my favorite poets' gravestones. I thought it would be a great idea, since Issay was also a favourite poet of mine.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a0fa04b30971e64f387deb6b77aa86fa/7c783cba73948896-84/s540x810/41fd3a08a3bf0fa3e4c74305d9d4b97d4c368b9a.jpg)
I found a quote on one of the stones that said:,, Here lies a heart underneath this stone, when it was living and beating it could only love. Now he's in peace, because he scattered himself among the ones who he loved. " And I found that perfeclty fitting for today. It's okay to cry, and feel sad, but the love he has left us is tremendous, and I think that can ease our pain a bit.
Nothing or no one will ever
Make me let you down
Kiss them for me, I may be delayed
"Kiss them for me" - A song by Siouxsie and the banshees has been playing in my head today
I hope all the poets, and all his loved ones kiss him today in heaven. We fans sadly can't, but instead what we can do, I guess, is to live a life instead that won't let him down. That means a life filled with passion, love, and being unapologetically ourselves, because that's how Issay lived.
Rest easy immortal vampire lord, I hope you have a fun time filled with love up there. I hope you heard the beautiful tribute album so many beautiful souls made for you, and I hope you received all the heatfelt messages your fans sent you. I hope you are surrounded by your loved ones, and can continue to sing with others, like Bowie and Atsushi.
Holding the night, I long to sink down
Throwing everything away, just we two, like this
If we could be forgiven...
One of my favorite songs of Der Zibet is あるロマンティスト達の死 (Aru Romanticist Tachi No Shi)
When I first heard it, Issay's vocal performace made me cry, even though I didn't understand the lyrics at that time. But after reading the lyrics, I cried even harder lol.
Still, I would like to think that today isn't a sad day. I'm glad to have met a true artist like Issay.
All I can say is,
See you later angel 🤍
#der zibet#issay#rest in peace#you are missed#I'm sorry for the kind of unorganized post#I just had a lot of things I wanted to say#love#Spotify

Anon is right, the screens are not new. The basically kept the whole tour the same as last year.
Blake always loved ETIHTS and he likes to perform it because it challenges his vocal abilities. But he released it at a bad time back in 2017, when he was already totally over the whole divorce drama. He was so ready to move on from it all at that point, he was sick of it, and that's why he released Texoma Shore. He talked about it in interviews.
I think neither of them were thrilled with timing of that single, because the relationship was still pretty new and vulnerable, and the media and different fandoms acted crazy.
Gwen recorded herself listening to the song and jokingly acted upset. When Blake performed it on the Voice, they pre-recorded the performace and when they were showing it during the live show, Blake was at Gwen's chair talking to her the whole time instead of watching it on the screen.
They are both much more aware about what's going on on sm than they like to let on. Blake especially let's it get to him. I think that's why he wanted the Gwen picture on there when they were creating the new visuals last year. But obviously I'm just guessing. Maybe he didn't even have anything to do with it. He's normally not much involved with these things.
I remember Gwen’s video of herself hearing the song and making a face.

I am a life-long David Bowie fan. I've been a fan of his since I was a teenager. There was even a woman at a certain garage sale who referred to me as "The Bowie Girl" because every summer I'd buy Bowie LP records from her. "It's the Bowie girl! Get the records out for her!"
And I've also been a Danny Elfman fan for roughly as long.
But after David Bowie passed away I found myself latching more on to Danny Elfman's music because ...well, he's still alive. (I don't want to jinx him!).
And as a life-long Bowie fan I have to confess something... I actually think Danny Elfman is the better singer. I LOVE Bowie. I always will but I've watched a lot of live shows with Danny Elfman lately and he still sounds just as good as he did at thirty, now at age seventy. (Probably because he doesn't smoke.)
But David Bowie (because of years of smoking before he finally quit) lost a lot of his vocal range in later years. Also Danny Elfman just has a wider vocal range.
David Bowie passed away at age sixty-nine but even when Bowie was just sixty he couldn't sing or move like he used to.
And yet Danny Elfman rushes out on stage and emotes with his whole body when he sings. There's a raw energy that few performers have today.
I'm sorry, David Bowie. I will always love you. But vocally and live-performace-wise I actually think Danny Elfman, now at age seventy is better than Bowie in his fifties or sixties. And Danny doesn't seem scared of his age the way Bowie seemed to be. (see Bowie's 1999 album Hours, which was used as a video game soundtrack but seems to mostly be "Oh, God, I'm getting old!)
Meanwhile Danny Elfman likes playing the elder industrial Goth old man with fire-orange hair and new body tattoos he got at sixty-eight or so.
Also Danny Elfman is a brilliant instrumental composer whose scores are instantly recognizable for his particular style.
Anyway, here's a recent live recording of Danny Elfman.
I chose his encore performance from his Nightmare before Christmas concert from October 28th because he does one of his rock songs as an Encore. One of my favorites. Dead Man's Party. I have happy memories attached to this song.
This performance is from just three weeks ago.

i'm back so i'm asking important question now: thoughts on this is why; your favourite and least favourite songs
hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii :')
ola hiiiiii!! <3
this is such an important question tbh and also so hard to answer lmao:
thoughts: i think it's one of their strongest albums. it's short, but it's a no skip album where every song is super strong. taylor's guitar work is just 🤌 and i think this is the best albums drums wise. zac adds so much without overplaying. the themes hayley explore are super interesting and she writes with a very authentic pen (like she always does tbh). her vocal performace is also super strong, and i love how she's able to utilize her whole vocal range.
favourite song: figure 8 (thick skull and big man, little dignity second and third for me i think)
least favourite song: the news (i do love it a lot and i don't skip it)
now i need to hear your thoughts on the album AND fave and least fave song <3

MUSIC REVIEW: The Mark of the Beast (666) by Willie Hutch
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cc7f33c826768e239475834b1f5139aa/870080a145e4084a-8a/s400x600/ca6be171c144481dc7b4320856472a60d8138467.jpg)
A very good soul record with a badass cover, The Mark of The Beast has great composition, especially in the signature Willie Hutch orchestral chords, primarily in the string and horn sections. The drum performace on this record is also very good. This record also features the signal vocal stylings of Hutch himself, which in my opinion is one of the main appeals of Hutchs music The lyrics vary in subject matter from Christianity, love, and the golden rule. Some standout tracks include "Woman You Touched Me," "Don't You Let Nobody Tell You How To Do Your Thing," and "Life's No Fun In The Ghetto." It gets off to a mediocre start but it's overall a great listen.
As of listening to this record, my top 10 list of recods is as follows:
I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU - JEPGMAFIA
Spirit Phone - Lemon Demon
good kid m.A.A.d city - Kendrick Lamar
Why Can't We Be Friends - WAR
CHROMAKOPIA - Tyler, The Creator
Discovery - Daft Punk
TOTO - Toto
Random Access Memories - Daft Punk
The Stranger - Billy Joel
The Mark of The Beast - Willie Hutch
I've ranked The Mark of The Beast above Because The Internet because it coveys it's emotions in a more subtle and palatable way and features more pleasant emotions and messages. It also has, in my opinion has a decent enough range, and even if it has an abundance of range less than because the internet it doesn't matter, because The Mark of The Beast has a more fleshed out and complete sound. I've ranked it below The Stranger because The Stranger has better storytelling and range.
Feel free to recommend music or challenge my top 10.

English translation first, followed by original Ukrianian lyrics:
Blessed Virgin, save us! Holy Mother of God, have mercy on us!
You do not turn away from the stream of my tears, You wipe every tear from every face, Virgin, who gave birth to Christ.
Fill my heart with joy, Virgin, You who accepted the overflow of joys, destroying sinful sorrow.
Your light by the rays of enlightenment, Virgin, driving away the darkness of ignorance, faithfully confessing You, Mother of God.
Blessed Virgin, save us. Holy Mother of God, have mercy on us!
===

I know my musings have been melancholy lately, so I wanted to write a little about the highlight of my singing year: performing the character of Abigail Williams from Robert Ward’s The Crucible for opera scenes in the fall. Amidst a lot of disappointment this was the zenith of everything that made at least my fall semester worthwhile.
Let me preface by saying that while I had never heard of the opera before, I was a huge fan of the play since I was a teenager and an even bigger fan of the history of the Salem Witch Trials in general. History was always my favorite subject in school and I never understood why people thought it was generally boring, especially American history. American history doesn’t fascinate me out of patriotism and a belief in a heroic, pure past - it’s just overall interesting, and the religious roots of the US in general are very intriguing. Plus I’m drawn to the paranormal and the history of witchcraft so....this is really just my jam. (For the record, I don’t believe anything paranormal happened in Salem and please don’t tell me about ergot poisoning, that’s a theory that’s been largely discredited since if it were true there should have been some deaths from it)
Anyway, when we all were gathered into the room to learn what we had been cast in, the moment the director started his preamble about the scene from The Crucible (the finale of Act 1) I was like, “oooooh, what’s this?” And then when he said announced MY name for Abigail Williams I internally started shrieking. “I’m a witch!!!” I actually exclaimed aloud like a giddy 12 year-old. There were a lot of fun scenes last fall, but I can’t emphasize enough how much Abigail was a dream come true for me and I wouldn’t have traded her to be a character in any of the others. If any other name but mine had been announced for her, I would have been PISSED, especially with how everything else shook down. Now, I know the opera itself isn’t a total masterpiece, but that scene was so satisfying (probably the most fun musically out of the whole work from an ensemble standpoint). A lot of the satisfaction came from having the different scene - you know what I mean? We were bookended by a lot of Mozart, Handel, operetta, etc, and don’t get me wrong, I like that stuff....but 20 straight minutes of darkness, singing about drinking baby blood, clawing and fighting on my hands and knees on stage, and difficult, borderline atonal music was such a blast that I didn’t care if the audience was like “WTF????” And we had a great sense of camaraderie in our crew - we all really felt that it would be amazing to be able to maybe someday do the whole opera.
Lastly, it was interesting to me that I have never really been cast as a good person. I don’t believe in black-and-white good-and-evil, but everyone I’ve sung so far (Frasquita, Queen of the Night, and Abigail) doesn’t make conventionally good choices in life to varying extents, and I really get a kick out of that, especially since my voice type is usually the demure maiden. I love those roles, too, but I’d love ride this complex, bad girl wave for as long as I can..
So all I have left now of this is Abigail’s aria that I’m working on. I really hoped to present it this fall at the school music competition - it would be my first competition ever and my last chance to participate in this one since I’m graduating in the spring, but now that we’re starting the semester virtually I don’t know if that’s going to happen anymore. I don’t want to present it because I think I’ll win with it, but because I really believe in it and it’s out of the box. Nonetheless, the full role is on my list of dream roles now for sure and I will insist on singing the aria in my senior recital at all costs. Just thinking about it sparks a little joy for singing again. I’m interested to see how my voice rehab will go once I’m up north and will try to chronicle my progress here. I don’t know why I’m writing sometimes (especially now that I’m at a low point), but I do believe in at least commemorating the positive experiences like this one.
