you obvious haven't been in the taekook community for a long time or you haven't branched out outside of tumblr much because if you had you'd know that taekookers are (much like jkkrs) more tae biased than they are jk biased. like the whole story tkkrs built is about tae being the only victim in the whole vminkook shipping situation, jungkook the unfaithful man, and jimin being the "other woman" who seduces him and jungkook sometimes falling into his traps or sometimes he's forced by the company to play along. it depends on the situation and how it affected taekook/tkkrs.

and this isn't saying that jkkrs are better, i'm not defending either sides because i belong to neither as im not a shipper to begin with, i have just been in this fandom long enough to see how this whole shippers situation has started and played out to this day. and the one major thing i've noticed that both sides of shippers have in common is that they both care about the non-jungkook half of their ship more, and jungkook is mostly treated like a prop from both sides. for jkkrs, he's the "supportive boyfriend" who's only worth mentioning when they want to hype up jimin and make him look superior, and for tkkrs he's your typical 19-20th century husband who has a "job wife (jimin)" who's a potential homewrecker if she succeeds in seducing the husband, and whom the "real wife (tae)" gets jealous of and the couple are her victims.

so yeah, both sides don't really gaf about jungkook much outside of using him to either prop up their fave or victimize him. jungkook stans mostly aren't shippers and they're either ot7 armys who see both hyungs as jk's closest friends, or they're solos who have no tolerance for either one of the two and drag both the entire time. which is why vmk solos are always fighting with each other and why jjks in particular are always caught in the middle of ship wars, because they're the only ones who actually defend jungkook from the crossfire.

Alright anon, get of your condescending high horse, I'm sure it was possible to send me an ask that was more conversational. I could very well be wrong, and I believe I did state that I was talking from my point of view, most of my followers are perfectly able to understand that for what it is.

What are we taking as as a measuring point for fandom behavior then if you're so against my Tumblr point of view? Twitter? TO me that's like basing your opionon on food by going to MacDonalds. Sure you'll get some nice stuff there, it's fast, it's simple, it has something for everyone... but does it give you the whole food experience? Probably not. You'll not likely be able to remember much about the food you tasted there except for that it was good (or bad). (Not wanting to trash Twitter completely, I know there's good stuff on there and I'm definitely exagerating to make a point 😁). Twitter is designed to be fast and short and by that design it makes it more difficult do go into deep discussions. Twitter is great for pushing content and activating fandom, not so great for estimating how fandom shenanigans work, because your view of it will be heavily biased by the loudest voices.. not the most sane ones.

Tiktok's algorithm wil make sure you get no-where. Instagram does not give you a sense of volume and is more about images than about discussion.

Tumblr is ofcourse small in comparison, so we don't get a sense of volume. But it does allow room for discussion. It's also real easy to go back to former posts because it works as an archive a bit. So please don't treat Tumblr as though it doesn't count in forming an opinion.

1) A person could go crazy second guessing another person. Especially one they don't personally know.

2) vminkook will handle their own business.

JK has said it before that things were awkward between him and Tae. Clearly something they worked on. They had a whole talk on ITS and then we saw them together out at plenty of places this year.

The whole fandom noticed space between vmin and "THEY KNOW EACH OTHER" and "DIVORCE" trended the day JM went to support Tae at music bank. Mind you, that was when JM also received an album from Tae.

Jikook having space or not is not actually known. They went on a whole weekend trip together IN THE MIDDLE OF JK PROMOTING SEVEN. Again. I mean they did it AGAIN in another country. JK has been cajoling JM to come and keep him company at various locations: boxing, his home, JM's home. Is this because they have space or because he misses JM when there's even the littlest bit of space between them?

And now we have jikook interacting during JM's documentary premiere. JK clearly went to the area knowing JM was there filming. He said his piece and left. Smoothly. JM lifted his shirt briefly for JK to speak into the mic, only to move his hand, which then dropped the mic and JK kept leaning down anyway. Then when JM asked about his weight he leaned closer so JM could honk the tittie. 🗣️ HONK THE TITTIE!

(If they're so awkward, then clearly personal space is a made up concept.)

3) The members can't control other people.

No matter what happens, taekookers will twist whatever is said or done (or not said or not done). They don't use logic. They use logical fallacies.

Their definition of logic begins and ends with "taekook are fucking" and everything else has to match otherwise their worldview, their brains, their friendships all collapse catastrophically.

JK can shake off Tae's hand and they'll attack JK. JK can pick up JM and JM will wrap his legs around his waist and they'll say the company made them do it. Tae can say "hyung" and they'll just assume they meant JK and not that Peter guy Tae was JUST POSTING PICS OF. Tae can be photographed and videotaped dating Jennie in France and Jeju and Tae can vacation with Hobi's family in Hawaii and they'll still insist that Atomix was a private taekook date made months in advance and they shut down the whole restaurant.

Tae SHUT THEM DOWN. Literally told them to get out of their imaginations and they made another level, inception-style, to go deeper down into the delusion.

You can't reason with taekookers. Literally no amount of logic works with them. Emotion doesn't work with them. They have to go get calming shots because Tae and Jennie have "cosplayers."

SO WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE THE MEMBERS?

What else can Tae do? What is reasonable? What can the other members do? What can the fandom do?

1) is it reasonable for Tae to never interact with ARMY?

2) is it reasonable to expect Tae to never mention his friends?

3) is it reasonable to expect the members to stop interacting with Tae?

4) is it reasonable for ARMY to turn their backs on Tae because socially, mentally, and emotionally interbred people with enlarged amygdalae and a restricted understanding of social norms cannot function in the real world without falling prey to charlatans trying to make a quick buck, maintain some type of moral superiority, or a power authority over a group comprehension-stunted, logic-vulnerable, people willing to sacrifice their time and energy to a cult instead of a self-empowering, positivity-focused fandom like ARMY?

5) is it ever reasonable to apply our own standards to how other people act? Or their relationships?

I can believe that JK hates all the hate he sees online directed to JM. Or Tae even. But that doesn't mean that he'll blame Tae or JM for the illogically psychopathic actions of a bunch of malcontents. He gets irritated as it is with ARMY still calling him Ian (me too tho, me too 😤). He will continue to be as diplomatic as possible as he navigates entreaties via welive from people of all ages and dispositions (and maturity levels and brain development stages).

6) and do we ever want to sound like taekookers?

Taekookers complained that JK was forced to interact with JM in the documentary premiere. Taekookers complain that jikook are only fanservice written by the company. Taekookers complain that JM is the worst friend to Tae because he keeps trying to steal his boyfriend, because he won't stop touching JK, because JK won't stop talking to him, because JK won't rebel against the company FOR ONCE (🤡 Mind you they forget the times he's said he didn't get in trouble with the company, the fact he drinks with us on welive, that he's freaking passed out until his phone screen shut off on us, that he's sat up in front of our salads NAKED IN BED, that he's gotten tattoos and also now that Bang PD has publicly said to let idols date and that he's allowed his idols to date 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡)!

Would I have publicly confirmed my dating rumor after gummybooboo blackmailed me and my partner? IDK, it wasn't me in that position. Would I have confirmed after naked pics of my partner dropped? IDK, it wasn't me in that position. Would I have confirmed after my friends and other innocents got dragged into the privacy drop? IDK, because I've never been placed in that position. So am I in a position of judging what anyone else would or wouldn't do? Not really.

Would I drop all my privacy to fans that wanted to know how long my dick was even? IDK I DON'T HAVE FANS! Or a dick, but that's merely an incidental detail. 👍

And here's me trying my hand at having empathy: our maknae line seems particularly sensitive to disruptions in the fan/idol interaction pipeline.

We've had them admit to having dark thoughts during the time they couldn't perform in front of us.

Tae may be even more susceptible to fears of fans leaving if he's displacing his fears of Jennie leaving while he's in the military. (I'd have to eat crow again if I attempted to speak on this point.)

Tae and JM and JK love us an insane amount, to the point of getting on welive at home at freaking UNGODLY HOURS just to talk to us or assure themselves that we're still here waiting for them. They NEED us in ways I cannot fathom and sometimes in ways that bring me fear for them.

So in thinking in this way, I do not believe I am in the right position to make judgements on their actions concerning how they treat each other or react to strangers on the internet.

I am human and admit that certain things would have had me reacting differently and I wish they did have the power to make all this nonsensical hate disappear from our fandom spaces.

My complicated thoughts about KTH

I’ve said before that I love all the members of BTS, and I do. I also put in my about me that if I had to rank the members in order of my favorites, I could. And it would be according to who I gravitate to the most both musically and personality wise. Taehyung has always puzzled me. He’s eccentric, a free spirit, and not someone that I would probably get along well with in my personal life. But he’s entertaining and clearly a beloved member of BTS by the members themselves, so I enjoy watching his interactions with them on stage and in content such as Run BTS.

In Chapter 2 though… I don’t know how to feel. I try to see nuance in just about everything especially when it’s something I have extremely limited facts that I can verify. I am hesitant to label him as some sort of villain attention seeker, but his behavior is puzzling to me to say the least. What I don’t believe in my heart of hearts is that Taehyung would ever do something to purposefully hurt one of his members in a majorly public way. I don’t think he is to blame for the derangement actions of Taekookers. But, he also doesn’t help either. His willingness to name drop JK constantly for no reason in interviews or in two minute lives is super strange. Don’t be active at all on Weverse then? I struggle to find a motive behind it. For the most part, I don’t think his actions bother Jikook because if they did, I’m sure he would stop. I do think it bothers Jungkook to some extent in the fact that he always has to do damage control against the embellishments that Taehyung tells. I don’t think Taehyung is bothered by the constant influx of Taekook comments when he’s live, but I think Jungkook is bothered sometimes, hence his willingness to set the record straight and bring up Jimin because that is who is on his mind and who he gravitates towards not Tae.

Taehyung used to be the “get out of your imagination” guy. And no matter how Tkks try to spin that, the man meant what he said back then. I don’t know exactly when the transition started, but it seems to be in this Chapter 2 soft launch of his equally famous girlfriend that didn’t go over super well with either fandom. My guess is that wasn’t the reaction he was expecting and now he’s backtracking to appease his “fanbase.” He’s probably a bit bitter over it too. I wish he cared less about Tkks and his solo stans, and I’m hopeful that he will forget about their nonsense once the 7 members are back together. If I was Jennie, I wouldn’t be thrilled by his actions. I would understand the hesitancy of going full public with the relationship, but only bringing up one member (the one you are shipped with the most) every time you decide to go live to see fans for two seconds or have an interview about your album is weird to me.

But again, I’m trying not to read too much into it or project my own feelings towards it too much. I’m sure if it bothers Jikook, things will be worked out behind the scenes. Time will tell if this behavior continues, and if one day it stops, I would have a good guess as to why.

Totally off topic but i just need to geet this out of my chest. You know, I've witnessed so many ugly judgemental comments in this fandom, specifically towards Jimin, Jungkook and occasionally Tae and I'm saturated with it. Jimin is the intruder in the couple that allegedly is Taekook, and therefore, he's disrespecting his own soulmate by engaging with Jungkook. Jungkook is not considerate towards Jimin or Tae whenever he just talks or hugs one of the two. And I am over and done with these narratives. Not only is this just some pure bullshit, it also spreads such toxic ideals on how relationships actually are irl.

But THANK GOD things are alright between the maknae line. Thank god they don't listen to these voices that might make things awkward between them. Thank god they have this solid bond between them. You have no idea how angry I get when these supposed fans put their input where it's not needed. Respect the freaking boundaries, live and let live. I really was scared when i heard about the river of emails sent to bighit in regards to Jikook being literally themselves on stage at the final shows of the SY tour in Seoul. I thought that would make them more wary and awkward towards each other cause of the complaints. But oh boy, thank god I was dead wrong.

I don't know if you're familiar with the Larry situation in the One Direction world, but I spent my last teen years growing with them, and the genuine bonds between the members is one of the things i love most about bands. And i first-hand witnessed where the shipping went wrong. I loved the friendship Louis and Harry had between them, but the ship destroyed it, making it impossible for them to even interact normally in their own band cause every little thing was scrutinized. Louis' fiancé has been harassed by "fans" for years, his family keeps getting asked about Larry to this day, and all of this ugliness hasn't stopped no matter how many times Louis has addressed it directly, literally asking fans to stop doing that cause it was hurting his loved ones, besides himself of course.

And this reminded me of Tae's words on that weverse post. And the similarities are striking. Even the "evil management" hiding the relationship is the same cliché.

But thankfully, so far at least, Jikook's bond is still flourishing from what we've seen, and Taekook is rebuilding their friendship after last year's drift. I just hope people learn from the shit show that has been Larry and many other obsessive "ships". Respect, love and boundaries, how hard is it?

We have the same goal here, the members' wellbeing and harmony, can we try and learn how to be more considerate towards these human beings?

Honestly same. I'm so happy that they haven't let all the toxicity affect their friendships. I know about the 1D and Larry stuff, but was never involved in it at the time, only afterwards. I was a more casual and occasionally listener of their music rather than a giant fan. And I cannot express how happy it makes me that TaeKook have been trying to work through whatever made them start drifting and trying to rebuild their bond and get even closer. I can imagine that Jimin probably feels similarly. Or during Festa 2021 and he called Tae "Chingu" aka, friend. After YEARS of JK refusing to drop formalities with Tae and Tae wanting him to and to be even closer with him, JK finally did 🥺 it really does speak to how in less than a year, they truly did make efforts to meet each other halfway more and work on their friendships. Calling Tae friend is not something you do with older people, it's something for essentially same age friends only. So it really speaks to how much they worked for that friendship since ITS. I really think thay talk was good for them!

Anyway, I totally agree with your rant and I think we could all use some Vminkook cuteness to cheer us up. Their friendship is the cutest and I love that for them. I'm so glad they have each other!

I hope they stay best friends forever.

I'm a different anon, but I don't think there's need to get all defensive with the "vminkook real" hashtags. Saying a company is marketing their employees a certain way clearly isn't hating on tae or something. I agree with what they said. Just this year during jikook's vlive staff took JM off cam to talk, he replied "so suddenly?" and then Tae called and JM literally stood up from the table and left JK. He didn't even care to interact with TH. (1)

It was shocking to me when JM got that call and inmediately left -it's not like him to do that, I was really like what?? And I'm definitely NOT one for conspiracy theories, I don't even believe in a lot of jikook theories, hell I don't even have jikook theories. But I do think there are efforts of trying to get back to the "screen" the before-2017 maknae line dynamics, which is stupid and kinda dehumanizing bc they're not the same people but well. (2)

On the subject of the ask I replied previously. The only reason I used the vminkook hashtags was because I wish people would love all three of them and enjoy their content without having the need to compare and come scream in my inbox about which pair is more “gayish”. Also because they all really looked good.

As for the vlive, I read that as Jimin being annoyed by the interruptions from the staff. They used to be able to do a vlive by themselves, but now there is always staff involved, and I get the impression neither Jimin or Tae are too thrilled about that. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy to get anyone closer together, I legitimately think Tae called and wanted to hear from the guys.

Rambling is okay here and so is cursing! You would have to have the patience of a saint to not curse in this hellscape I hate so much to love (I only do this for Jikook, I swear).

I think the reason why Vmin gets pushed to the side is because they're not really a "threat," which is stupid as hell, because if anyone depicts a true sense of what love can look like, it's Vmin. I only wish I had been drawn to Vmin from the start because they're drama-free for the most part. And I think if there was any drama, it never gets quite so hostile. I wouldn't know for sure, but the Vmin fandom seems to be having a fantastic time minding their own business.

But that in itself says a lot, doesn't it? The common denominator is Jungkook, and there's an inherent, unsaid claim to him. He's kind of the reason why there's such an intensity with weirdo Jkkrs and Tkkrs. I'm not pointing fingers and I'm not saying this is a widespread case, but Jimin and Taehyung are convenient modes to self-insert. Fact of the matter is--and anyone can deny this all they want to kingdom come--but we know Jungkook is HOT HOT HOT, and his appearance has A LOT, if not everything, to do with why some Jkkrs and Tkkrs get so stabby about Jungkook looking like he's closer to Jimin or Taehyung.

Have you ever been in or seen a real love triangle play out in real life? That's all primal instincts at work; your animal brain will bare its teeth and not let you think yourself rationally out of it.

Vminkook is the formidable love triangle that never dies, with Jungkook stuck in the middle. I would have to enact a formal study to say anything with certainty, so take this WITH A GRAIN OF SALT (a.k.a. I'm talking out of my ass and I know it), but my hypothesis has always been that Jungkook is the object of everyone's collective affections, and one's preference for Taehyung or Jimin is dependent on how much you see yourself in them/how much you can relate to them. This could also work in reverse where Jungkook is the one you feel the most connection to, and Taehyung or Jimin are the ones that stir up those primal emotions in you.

The only difference between a sane vs. toxic shipper in this case, however, is how far they take it. Some people take things WAY too personally one way or another, which only cements my belief that something more psychological is in effect as opposed to it being purely for entertainment.

So... heh, sorry, got carried away there. But back to your point, the only reason why Vmin gets ignored is because Jungkook isn't involved.
