The term “vitamins test” refers to a series of assays and analyses used to assess an individual’s levels of vital vitamins in their body, rather than a single, uniform examination. These tests are intended to determine the presence and concentration of specific vitamins, such as vitamin A, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D, and 1,25 dihydroxy, among others. Depending on the individual’s specific needs and health issues, healthcare practitioners may offer several types of vitamin tests to ensure proper nutrient intake and address any imbalances or deficiencies that may be affecting one’s overall health and well-being.
Why should we take the vitamin test?
A vitamin test can provide significant information about your nutritional health by measuring the levels of several vitamins in your body. By diagnosing deficiencies or excesses, it enables personalised supplementation and improves general health.
Monitoring vitamin levels is especially critical for people with unique health issues, dietary limitations, or athletes striving for optimal performance.
Early diagnosis of deficits helps avoid future health problems and ensure successful care.
Finally, vitamin testing is a cost-effective and targeted strategy to maintaining optimal health, but it is critical to speak with a healthcare practitioner before making any significant adjustments to supplementation or diet.

So the good news is the surgery recovery is going great. The bad news is it doesn't seem like that was the reason for the unbelievably painful fluid build up. The next guess for that is that it's nutritional - that after compensating as long as it could for my deficiencies, something in my body gave out - and it's looking like it'll be another, potentially much longer hospital stay so that they can IV what I need and keep draining the fluid until it stops coming back.
After the five-almost-six months of new and inventive agonies, any solution seems like it'll be a pretty good deal, but obviously this also means more time where I can't do shit, especially art, which is my work. (I can fantasize that this treatment attempt will help my vision problems too, but I'm not holding my breath.) At the moment, the fluid returns to a bedbinding amount a few days after each drain, which impedes most parts of existing.
And now I e-beg: While I can't put out new stuff right now, if you'd like to support me and get fun stuff from the past or accumulate credit for stuff in the future, and in turn give my finances a leg up so I'm less of a burden on the household (I have required a lot of attentive care in the past months), here's some options:
If you like characters, I've got designs for sale on Toyhouse - I'm open to offers on anything made by just me (meaning, not the collabs), so if you usually wouldn't have the budget, now's your chance!
If you like bases, I've got a ton for sale on Ko-fi and even more of my older ones available to multiple subscription tiers, also on Ko-fi.
If you want to start saving up for a future commission, the Ko-fi tiers also store that! It's an unofficial bonus while I'm out of commission (ha), but any amount paid while I'm not actively drawing will be noted down as credit for when I can draw again.
If you just want to throw a donation my way because you think I'm neat, that's also an option on Ko-fi!
I'm really hoping this cause is the right one and that dealing with it will actually start to fix things, because god I miss drawing so fucking much, and I really appreciate the patience and support I've gotten through it all this far. Been a hell of a rollercoaster. As always, stay safe, love you.

Got my blood test results back and I am once again not anemic!!! (I stopped taking iron for a while and it turns out I should not have done that lol) Also my ferritin is up in the double digits again! A huge improvement from a year ago, when my ferritin level was 3. Now it's 17! That's technically in the normal range!!! :D

There are different types of vitamin tests, each focusing on specific vitamins or groups of vitamins. The procedure for a vitamin test typically involves blood or urine samples, and results can indicate whether a person is deficient, sufficient, or has excess levels of particular vitamins.
Types of Vitamin Tests:
Vitamin D Test: Assesses levels of vitamin D crucial for bone health.
Vitamin B12 Test: Measures vitamin B12 levels essential for nerve function and red blood cell formation.
Vitamin C Test: Evaluates levels of vitamin C, an antioxidant vital for immune function.
Vitamin A Test: Determines vitamin A levels important for vision and skin health.
Vitamin E Test: Measures vitamin E levels, a potent antioxidant.
Procedure of Vitamin Test:
Typically, a healthcare professional collects a blood or urine sample. Blood tests are commonly used for most vitamin assessments, providing a comprehensive overview of an individual's nutritional profile.
Benefits of Vitamin Testing:
Personalized Nutrition: Helps tailor dietary recommendations based on individual vitamin needs.
Early Detection: Identifies deficiencies or excesses before they manifest as health issues.

Hey y'all! Another weird question for you: How long do you have to fast for a blood sugar reading to count as a fasting blood sugar measurement? Also, does drinking soda (like, full sugar soda) slowly over the time before the blood test count as not-fasting? Asking because I keep testing* in the fasting blood sugar range when I am pretty sure I am not supposed to. Like, two hours after eating a meal when I've been slowly drinking soda the whole intervening time, or half an hour after drinking a whole full-sugar gatorade *with the home blood sugar test thing, not like doctor's office tests. though I test in the fasting range there too? I do know the word for the tester thing but I am brain fogged at the moment

There's that post about The Vitamin and finally getting it and being cured, but for me the Vitamin was B12 and unfortunately you have to keep getting The Vitamin regularly and if you forget because you were tired (because of lack of The Vitamin) they make it really hard to continue obtaining Vitamin.

Don't do that. Learn from my mistakes. (If you have the option)
