At age 38, Chuck took two basic glass blowing classes at the Experimental Glass Workshop in New York City in 1989. In 1991, he founded the Sigma Glass Studio for the purpose of pursuing advanced glass layover techniques, turning hot glass bubbles inside out. Chuck has created custom pieces for the New York Yankees and Time Warner Communications. Chilean flamingos, native to S. America, can be identified by their pink joints and feet. There are six species of flamingos worldwide and their varied diets are responsible for thier coloration. While wading in shallow waters, the flamingo bends its long neck down and immerses its bill with the top side down. Since they have no teeth, their tongue acts like a piston pushing the rich bottom muck through their bill. The muck along with blue-green and red algae, small insects, crustaceans, and mollusks passes through a comb-like arrangement of plates inside the bill, where the food is extracted. *This information came from the informational signage within the gardens. ********************************************The more you know 💫 *********Seriously though, I took a smart trip over to St. Petersburg and I was mainly wanting to check out all the wall murals. I opted to just go on a drive with no preplanned destination and ended up at the @sunkengardensstpete. It was a mere $10 to enter so I thought it was money well spent to be able to see a lot of the native plant species of Florida as well as a few foreign species that all meshed well as you twisted and turned through the paved trail. They were actually setting up for a wedding in their wedding space while I was walking through and it looked to be a very marvelous venue to celebrate your special day. I bet the gardens look amazing once the sun goes down.
