RESIDENTTALE CHAPTER ONE PART 3 {new virus}

part 23748234182942932 of me spriting things for something that's never going to exist (i don't know how to code)

(more info under cut bc my thoughts were so long i didnt wanna bloat the tags)

so i had the stupid idea to write the "deltarune" and "undertale" logos in each others fonts, and then it spawned this whole other idea of an au game of deltarune characters in the undertale premise.

it would take place around the same time as the actual deltarune, just a couple years in the future (so still the 2000's) meaning humans don't have mages anymore, so rather than being sealed underground the monsters just seek refuge inside the mountain. though, this time the monsters do actually have magic, otherwise the battles wouldn't work :P.

since they were just living in a town, i imagine the monsters don't have a king, but since asgore was the police chief he'd probably be the "leader" of the underground since hes still an authority figure, and the royal guards would just be other characters on the force.

of course because this is DELTARUNE, there's going to be a ton of dark world stuff incorporated into it. i only sprited jevil and spamton (because i Love Them but i think everyone who's been seeing my art recently can tell that), but i plan on adding more darkners X) i just have to really consider who, i don't think ralsei will be here >_> i love him but i'm not sure how it would work since yknow... boss monsters. plus spade king and queen will probably be ruled out because there's no monarchy in this version of the underground.

actually going back to spamton, my idea was that he could take the place of mettaton, since mettaton doesn't have a robot form and alphys isn't a scientist, the idea was that he was a virus noelle accidentally "created" by clicking on a spam link that became self aware. she combined a chair with a monitor to give him a body, because he was trying to take over her home PC lol, but he doesn't have any of the features mettaton had in UT. also yeah he's gonna be in the spamton neo body, probably in genocide, or maybe for EX. idk yet. yeah this is all just a big reference to the fact that mettaton created the spamton neo body in deltarune LMAO. as for jevil... hes, uh... hes there! i don't know what i'm gonna do with him yet.

that's the most i'm willing to share at the moment X) don't get your hopes up though because the possibility of this becoming a real game is 0.0000001%. Coding is a nightmare and i genuinely can't wrap my head around it so that's never gonna happen! but to whoever is reading this i hope you find the concept at least a little bit interesting :]

UWU Infection Never add a U to UW. This is a post barrier timeline where a UwU virus spreads terrorizing Ebott's Town. Frisk, as the monster's ambassador, will have a lot of work to do to ensure everyone's safety from the cute virus.

REDress Previously known as the "Amalgamate" timeline, now it was completely rewritten. The families of the amalgamates took revenge on Sans and Alphys, injecting them too with Determination, melting them into amalgams as well...

War Rewind Flowey and Sans mess with the resets, mistakenly send themselves back to the time of the war between humans and monsters. Flowey dies, but Sans, adopting baby Chara to save them from their fate, allows Asriel to survive in the future and become king. Now all humans who fall underground will be treated as friends. This timeline was fairly inspired by Timetale! And also by my chats with @ask-dcf :3

Hopeless Timeline Flowey grows bored, and decides to torture Sans with Save Files and Resets to see how far that would go. The story then starts to take interesting turns as I RP it. Underground's Insanity Previously known as the "Hopeless Queen Alphys Timeline" (the name was too long). The genocide (?) version of the Hopeless Timeline. It begins as a Queen Alphys ending, to then take a Horrortale-like turn, with some angsty Salphys who has to face Frisk, the strongest hunter wizard to ever exist.

Outcodes in Ebott!

Let's just say, the world all the aus collide is the world outside classic Undertale, Ebott. I haven't figured out where each au came from in the country except the farm and mafia, obviously, they lived alongside humans.

Once the barrier broke down, the magic was unbalanced, since it was pure magic, it was a huge change. All the aus got some magic changes as they came to the surface, some monsters didn't have aus to break free from, the outcodes also suffered said magic change.

The new residents of Ebott are the outcodes, they suffered from.. huge magic changes, since some have quite the.. killer thoughts, they were forced by the royals to go to some therapy and yada yada.

When they appear, they were also forced to choose a place to live while they look for a job and choose to rent a house with two floors. This is just for the classic gang (dust, killer, nightmare and the horror brothers + Nile), their variants choose other apartments.

Everyone took notice that a possibly trapped human was with them, Torment made sure everyone knew that Nile (their Nicky) wasn't there against their will. Sure seems they're the favorite…

If I didn't made myself clear, the outcodes are now in Ebott but clearly nerfed by the magic from the barrier breaking down.

More B-Side Verse!

Next up is Error.

This is Trojan, the B-Side verse version of Error.

(click for better quality)

- Within B-Side, Trojan used to be a Science Sans instead of a Geno Sans like Error was.

- Since Trojan originated from a younger and overall nicer Sans variant, Trojan is much more pacifistic and less angry than Error.

- He still destroys Universes, but he's less likely to actually fight people. He does his job and tries to flee as fast as possible when Scribe shows up, only rarely giving in to fighting.

- A glitch is spreading throughout B-Side verse. It seems as though there is no cure, but destroying the infected universes seem to slow it down. So, Trojan does his best to kill off the infected universes using his power, only leaving the uninfected alive. This earns him the title of "God of Destruction" throughout the multiverse as rumor spreads. No one, except Trojan's trusted allies, know of his true motives.

- Scribe and his crew are trying to stop the same corruption, but Scribe believes Trojan is the root cause of it and seeks to annihilate him, thinking destroying "the source" will kill off the rest. He doesn't see Trojan's efforts as "damage control", all he sees is Trojan "spreading more corruption."

- Being alone for so long has made him more like Alphys, very nervous and anti-social, but undeniably brilliant. He has a habit of going on long rambling tangents about data, space, magic, and whatnot. Most people don't understand a thing he's talking about though. He doesn't care, he's just happy to infodump.

- Most people see him as this maniacal mad scientist who tortures people and experiments on souls. Many Sanses like to compare him to some of the abusive and horrible Gasters throughout the multiverse. When, in reality, Trojan has absolutely zero confidence in himself let alone his "mad science."

- Most of Trojan's time is actually spent researching and documenting the different magic and fighting styles all Sans and Papyri have. He finds all the variation extremely fascinating and just rly rly rly wants to learn about it all. (*Cough* undiagnosed autism *cough*/lh)

- Trojan really doesn't have many friends and doesn't get out much. But, unlike Error, he's pretty good friends with Nightmare and his gang of misfits, as well as Cyan, the B-Side variant of Underswap Sans.

- For a long while, Trojan couldn't remember he used to be a Science Sans. Once he did remember, Cyan gave him his necklace as a reminder to never forget.

The rest of these are not rly that important, they're just funky little design quirks I think are cool lmao.

- Trojan is named after a "Trojan Horse Virus" a type of computer virus that disguises itself as a normal program.

- His name is also a reference to the Trojan Horse in Greek mythology. Within the story, not only was the Trojan Horse a smart plan, the monument itself was an alleged tribute to Athena, goddess of wisdom. Trojan is a very smart cookie so using my tism powers I named him after something connected to the goddess of wisdom essentially NSNDNND.

- Trojan's "strings" are less like strings and more like thick ribbons of green binary. Within the Antivoid, similar to Error, Trojan has a bunch of these ribbons hanging from the "ceiling". But unlike Error, written on these ribbons are the names and serial numbers of all the universes he's destroyed. It's his way of remembering them and memorializing them.

- The binary code surrounding him can spell out various small phrases or words relating to what he's feeling. Normally, they just spell out "Trojan". But as seen above in my paper sketches, they change periodically. The translations for the binary can be found underneath each sketch.

- Trojan's eyelights can change as well. They turn into 1s when he's surprised, angry, excited etc, and change to 0s when he's embarrassed, sad, worried, etc.

- When he's overwhelmed or confused, strings of binary cover his eyes.

INVERTED!Underlust (Fanatically Underlust)

Uuuuuuuuuuh, let's talk about the elefant in the room of my brain. To begin with, i've sorta re-written Underlust as i like, so i call this version of mine "Fanatically UnderLust".

These characters are the main ones btw...

Uuh Grillby and Sans are a canon couple, just like the og UL.

Paps and Mtt are also a canon couple, but they got some drama going on bc Paps is uuh, addicted to drugs and uuh..y'know, so they're in a complicated situation. Also Paps is like a cupid and goes around the multiverse making couples, i guess... it rarely happens tho.

Mtt runs a Quiz show (hooray!) that broadcasts for the whole multiverse, a lot of other people also participate on it, the most current wuest is Paps.

Grillby had christian parents and he has this whole arc of "bro let me live my life sucking dicks", it's awesome. He's like the song Collared by Vane lily

Alphys and Undyne don't got THAT many things going kn, just.. just being happy lesbians, and that stuff of homophobia

Alphys has the main lore of F.U.L, Luster a.k.a Gaster is sort of an asshole and does a lot of s/a, and uuuh she's his main victim, this also complements mtt's lore, he's been created specifically for Luster, for... y'know, Alphys scape... god this is awful lets move on.

Undyne is also like a popstar thing, y'know verosika from helluva boss? That's her, but nicer.

All of the characters has at least an level of hypersexuality

The FUL cast needs to use masks and have all of the preventions against an contagious thingy (like that 2019 virus) when they're in contact with other universes. it'll be explained furthermore...

The dreemurrs, omg, i like them ngl, specially Toriel, she just deserves love, man.

Alright... uh.. Frisk and Rosie (btw just notice i wrote flowey instead of Rosie, i'm so sorryakbdksjakak)... i mean, they exist that's for sure, in FUL Frisk sacrifices himself to free the monsters, i mean.. Asriel isn't here to save the day... but Hopeful ("Dream Sans") saved everyone aren't they the best?

Asgore is an interesting one, he's also addicted to drugs like Paps, but i have to say, this drug monsters from FUL takes are something else, it's the cause of everything. But i'll explain it furthermore.

Also, Asgore is sort of a religious guy, yup! You read me right. The first human brought a bible with him, and oh god he believed it, i mean i can guess he already was a religious guy before the war but now he's THE religious.

^^^(Btw I'm not blaming all christians or believers of another religion, it's just a stereotypical character, i'm using bad believers as character/example not good believers)

Btw Frisk, Rosie and Toriel are a happy family! Instead of Frisk wanting to leave he just stayed with Toriel, oh wait i need to let this clear they're like mother and son okay don't get things wrong hold on. Frisk is slightly affected by the Lust contagious thing, that's why he has fat thighs and some large upper format.... sorry. I tried to make him have both of genders characteristics.

Basically the substance multiplies itself (it's almost alive) and smelling, entering in contact or digest it could infect you and alterate you completly, and also give you human traits like 5 fingers, yup, i have this headcanon where monsters has 4 fingers and humans has 5, just a way of differentiate the both species more

And Gaster... uuuh, he fell for the human's temptations and he's like..... theirs.... pet, i guess..??? But i mean, i like to think gaster is still not innocent, being too close to the literal font of the Lust would change him to be eventually what he is now

Terratale (Stylized as TerraTale for clarification) is an UNDERTALE fan-comic and AU independently developed by TheSleepySpectator, also known as EndRune or simply Rune and with added concepts by PhantomReaper.

Terratale is an Undertale fan AU where, not only did the humans lock the monsters underground, but they added on to the spell by cursing the monsters to die off slowly with a virus that grows flowers on the monster's body. The flowers eat away at the Monster's soul and they eventually die.

Character changes from UNDERTALE:

Frisk - Frisk has been replaced with a boy named Carswell. This is because this AU is set after the events of classic Undertale, however Frisk never fell into the underground and therefore never freed the monsters.

Chara - Chara has been replaced with Carmen. This is because in this AU, for convenience reasons, Chara was never born. Carmen fell around the same time that Chara did UNDERTALE.

Aria - Aria is an added character who has no character role in UNDERTALE and is the twin sister of Carmen. She fell when Carmen fell but she didn't survive the large fall and thus was buried under a bed of purple flowers.

Ruby - Ruby is an added character who has no character role in UNDERTALE. She is an integrity soul that decided not to leave Toriel due to her abusive past on the surface.

Flowey - Flowey's petals are now black and white.

Toriel - Toriel now has flowers over small parts of her body however the virus is not too spread out. Her fire attacks are a bit weaker than her classic counterpart.

Sans - Sans has an orange coat rather than a blue one. He had flowers covering his left eye as well as some parts of his arms. His virus is advanced and he is close to Flower Crowning. He is a bit slower than is classic counterpart but his KR is much more damning.

Papyrus - Papyrus has a small flower on his head and has a line under each of his eyes, signifying that he is immune to the Terra virus. He wears a light red sweater around his waist, which matches his red scarf.

Undyne - Undyne has a patch of flowers on her right eye but covers it with an eye patch as to not look weak in front of the monsters who count on her.

Alphys - Alphys has a small flower on her right cheek and has a line under each of her eyes, signifying that she is immune to the Terra virus.

Mettaton EX - Mettaton's body is similar to that of a puppet with a lanky and broken build and vines covering his legs.

Asgore - Asgore has flowers covering his horns, however he has a line under each of his eyes, signifying that he is immune to the Terra Virus.

Omega Flowey - Omega Flowey has no significant changes other than there being vine-like chains around his arms and flowers in the middle of its body.

ASRIEL (GOHD) - In this form, Asriel has a flower crown over his eyes.

ASRIEL (Normal) - He has a small flower on his right horn and has a line under each of his eyes, signifying that he is immune to the Terra Virus.

Trivia

This project has been on and off for 2 or so years. In between the creation of TerraTale, another project Rune made is called SnowPlague, which is actually quite similar to TerraTale. This project is canceled.

There are several added monsters and characters that are not in the original UNDERTALE that will appear frequently in the background of the TerraTale comic.

You would have never thought that you would someday somehow screw the zombie virus over when everything fell. You also never would have thought you'd help set up a utopia as said zombie either...

Life, and death, is beyond crazy it seems.

“ALPHYS!!! HOLD ON!! I’M COMING!!

“U-undyne don’t! Please g-go!! I love you! Go!!”

“ALPHYS!”

“I-I’m sorry!”

Sometimes, in your own sense, you dream about that day.

How could you not? The heartbreak of those two helped you gain the courage in your muddled mind-numbing stupor to act. They gave you enough determination to break your bloodlust and fear to fight back against your monstrosity and that of one hell of a sentient. Though it was built like an elephant in both mass and strength, their devastated pleas were enough to break through to your mind and shatter your hesitation.

They deserved to live, and you were the only one capable of helping them against him and his horde.

You were able to fight back.

Amazingly, against all odds and with a bit of magical help from the fish Undyne, you defeated the goliath, gaining not only his life energy but all his special abilities and the horde of dead that he commanded. The sheer amount of energy gained from consuming his tainted and decayed life force had burned, pooling in your sockets and melting what was left of rotting flesh from your bones. It filled in missing pieces of yourself, pushing the corruption back and clearing your mind further than you ever thought possible.

You gained a semblance of life back.

They got to keep their life.

You can remember quite vividly the look the fish woman had given you as you slowly pulled back the horde. Your sockets, still burning bright with that newfound energy, had locked with hers as she pulled her lover from beneath heavy rubble. You didn’t dare move until their friends had finally arrived and began to fire, thankful for how the fish held them back as you left.

How long had it been since then?

You have yet to find another with your level of awareness that hasn’t been consumed by the overwhelming corruption. None of the others you have run into had figured out how to combat the darkness from their life energy, nor wanted to…

It didn’t matter.

You may have lost your living life a long time ago, but that one choice helped you gain back and understand your humanity. You owed those two strangers a lot, wherever they were.

Somewhere in a compound far away…

The old goat queen sat clad in stained battle armor, several maps spread out in front of her on an old desk in an office. The evening Sun filtered through an open window, breeze rustling a few of the papers. At a knock on her door, she rose to meet her summoned guest.

For a brief moment, it felt like old times deep under their mountain, her captain standing as ready as ever to do her bidding. Huffing, she turned her good eye away and down to her maps. 

She had put her tyrannical ways away upon reaching the surface. Just like the child had taught them, kindness was the only way to keep her people united, safe, and loyal up here amidst the madness. The new bonds that had been made proved such…

She wasted no more time, straightening her back to reinforce her seriousness.

“I have received word from the council. We won’t be able to sustain ourselves here much longer, similarly, the other clans' representatives have claimed to be in similar circumstances. The suggestion to merge clans and join forces has been brought forward. I have agreed. There is safety in numbers and some of the others have knowledge that would benefit us all.”

She took a breath, eyeing the captain when he remained silent. 

“For such things to happen… there have been rumors of an area to the east near Tale territory large enough and rich enough in resources to potentially support multiple clans indefinitely. However, rumors have also claimed that those particularly nasty fallen roam in higher numbers around there. With this in mind, I have also agreed to send a team to join with those of Fell to look into these rumors and dispatch any needlessly unwanted threats.”

Making several marks and notes on the top map, the queen gingerly rolled it and handed it to the captain. With a knowing look, he accepted it but still held his tongue. 

“I am tasking you, Black, to be point on our team. I trust no one more capable than you to take on such a feat. Do I have your support on this? Captain?”

Grinning, the skeleton monster in front of her bowed. “WHATEVER IT TAKES TO FURTHER AID YOU AND OUR PEOPLE, SO IT SHALL BE, YOUR MAJESTY.”

She couldn’t help but snort. He hadn’t changed at all. Still as sturdy and loyal now as back then. More so since her change in antics.

It was reassuring.

“Good. Ready yourself. You leave first thing in the morning. Scar will give you the necessary information for your meeting with the Fells.” Hesitating, she allowed herself to put a paw on his shoulder. “May the angel grant you success on your mission. My friend…”

Cybernetic Sneezes

A collection of Mettaton (Undertale) scenarios

Mettaton has an enormous, and, according to him, very ugly sneeze. But he hardly ever had trouble keeping it to himself in the past. The problem? Ever since the fight with Frisk, their stardom has blossomed. That would normally be a good thing, but when he’s battling the peak of a nasty computer virus, keeping his nose under wraps has become more and more difficult. Mettaton ducks out during interviews, runs away from paparazzis, and even completely avoids his fans. But the charade can only last so long, and not only have his fans grown more suspicious, but his nose has become more unpredictable.

A monster has been hired as one of Mettaton’s assistants, and is determined to do well. The first day, however, begins in chaos. Enormous, glitching sneezes erupt from the robot’s dressing room, and the monster rushes in to see Mettaton doubled over in a fit of dramatic proportions. Once he can get control of himself, he explains shortly that there’s something in his dressing room that’s making him sneeze, even though he gave specific instructions to the studio about what to include in his room. Now, it’s up to the new assistant to figure out Mettaton’s mysterious allergen before they go on stage in an hour. And, what’s worth, something about the quivering of Mettaton’s nostrils and the loud, unapologetic hitches that are distracting them…

After an upgrade by Alphys, Mettaton is told that they can do a myriad of things that they couldn’t before. The robot, of course, doesn’t listen very closely, assuming that this is just another fix-up with very few new actual abilities. They leave the lab, thinking nothing of it. However, as they go through the Waterfall and near the pollen-filled echo flowers, they begin to notice an odd sensation building in their nose - a tingly buzzing that grows stronger and stronger the farther they walk. Soon, their nostrils flare, and their eyes become wet. Mettaton can’t help but gasp, once, twice, three times, until they let out a terrific sneeze. Having never sneezed before, but becoming very curious about the project, he spends the rest of the day figuring out this new power of theirs…and perhaps learning a few drawbacks.

Mettaton learns about the idea of becoming ill for the first time after Sans stops by with a cold. While Alphys checks him out — and tries to figure out how a skeleton can even catch a head cold — the robot becomes jealous of the amount of attention Sans is getting. He figures that getting sick is some sort of achievement, or a special trait that illicits awe or adoration. In an attempt to gain this attention, Mettaton loads a computer virus directly into their system. Immediately, their cheeks, nose, and forehead become red hot. Their joints creak and shake, and their speech becomes garbled. Finally, they are overcome with huge sneezes that spread the virus to all other electronics, causing a state of chaos inside the lab.

After sneezing on one of his live events, Mettaton realizes that his ratings go up every time he does so. Perhaps he has cute sneezes, or they cause sympathy…or perhaps quite a few monsters enjoy when he sneezes. Whatever the case, he decides to have a special show where he tries to see what makes him sneeze — feathers, dogs, flowers, pepper, or really anything that his audience can suggest! Somehow, despite it being very different from his regular content, Mettaton very much enjoys the experiments, although he can’t quite place why…

PERSONALITY

Undyne is incredibly egocentric, and cocky often resulting in her getting into conflicts with nearly every other monster daily. She is incredibly territorial of Waterfall going so far as to attack Sans immediately when he enters her domain. That said, she does make small exceptions for a few monsters such as Gerison, Alphys, and Papyrus. Her aggressive nature is told to Frisk by several Waterfall monsters, and the fear of her is visible by them as well as they cower in her presence. Even though she is kinder to Papyrus and Alphys than most, Undyne is not great with her emotions often using fighting or mockery is her unfortunate love language. She does however harbor genuine feelings for Alphys, but the pair have difficulty maintaining their love as Undyne cannot stay out of water long and Alphys can't get too cold/wet or she could die.

HISTORY

Undyne was extremely young during the war, and like many other monsters was turned during the outbreak caused by Asgore. Her parents had completely lost themselves to the hunger and attempted to consume her. Gerson's strong resilient body gave him fairly good control of his actions. He had little choice but to kill and burn her parents, she consumed both to honor their memory as Gerson had become her guardian.

Undyne was raised by Gerson who went on to become the Alpha of Waterfall. Gerson was a generous Alpha who would often give more food to the Waterfall monsters and Undyne rather than himself. Sadly this continued to the point that Gerson was slowly going mad from hunger forcing Undyne to once again kill a father.

This event would traumatize her to the point that she became cold and ruthless to nearly everyone around her. Undyne often questioned the rules of territory her venture into Hotland was frightening as the heat nearly killed her, and would have succeeded had Alphys not taken her back to Waterfall. Later she would find out how risky this was for Alphys as if her body temp gets too low she could potentially die.

The pair would become mates despite the potential of them accidentally killing one another. Later on when trying to enter Snow Den Undyne found herself ensnared in one of San's traps. He proceeded to mock her calling her 'danger noodle' mocking her lack of legs and her face  before unceremoniously tossing her back into Waterfall.

After this event the pair continued to prank and annoy one another ranging from simple set ups to potential deadly traps. They both share similar thoughts on survival, and though both adamantly deny being friends the pair seem to genuinely enjoy each other's antics. Eventually Papyrus tries to sneak out of Snow Den in an attempt to make friends and is attacked by a pack of Temi. She finds them defending, and yet not attacking despite have a high enough attack to easily slaughter them.

After killing the Temi she tries to gauge their stats better and doing a SOUL check finds that the hunger virus isn't afflicting them right. Surprised she decides to learn more about them, and finds that their brother is Sans, that they dislike fighting, and that their simply lonely. Taking pity on them and impressed at their abnormality, she becomes their mentor teaching them to defend better, she tries occasionally to see if they'll let her show him to fight but they adamantly refuses each time.

When the Human appears in Waterfall she immediately begins hunting them and  killing any monster who gets in her way...

PACIFIST ROUTE

If the Human chooses this route, it's not the easiest, Undyne is incredibly territorial, driven, and hides her feelings (opposed to Sans who simply has difficulty feeling due to his condition.) making things more challenging than other routes. Undyne will try repeatedly to impale them numerous times across their territory although if the Human listened to San's advice they find that Undynes aim is horrible. Her tracking abilities are also poor as she hunts mainly with thermal vision meaning all they have to do is stay cold enough to avoid detection.

As they try to avoid Undyne the Human will run into Monster Kid who went hunting only to become lost. Hungry, and weak they cannot muster the strength to fight anyone. The Human in this route will choose to give MK some of their food and in return due to his cold-blooded body he will hide them for the most part from Undynes thermal.

Eventually the pair enter a standoff and the human will have to lure Undyne out of the water towards hot land till the heat begins to become too much. Once she passed out from the heat, the human will tie her up before dragging her back into Waterfall. Upon waking the pair end up having a chat that leads to her realizing the Human is much like Papyrus and admires their control.

After they finish talking Undyne reveals that she has concerns about Asgore explaining that every alpha has to pay tribute so that he doesn't begin eating everything around him. The Human explains that their mission is to imprison Asgore and stop the false God so that their world can heal. Undyne laughs at their words in the beginning before slowly going quiet.

"Can a world like this heal? Can our SOULs actually be saved...if such things exist...you and Paps give me the hope that they can.."

After this Undyne tells them that they have her support, and like Sans insists that they get Alphys to talk about anime. Once Sans passes Judgment on them and they imprison Asgore, and stand up against Monarch Undyne as well as the other Alphas will appear decreeing they no longer worship him.

Undyne attends this moment in a suit made by Alphys to keep her from drying out. Like the others she stated that she has never once worshiped him, and demands he fix the world he made. She becomes upset when he laughs telling them the hunger won't just stop, and that truthfully Asgore was to blame as he could have declined the elixir. She is held back by both Alphys and Papyrus during the exchange, once gone the group begins planning to recruit others who are tired of the hunger, pain, and violence.

At the end it's revealed that Alphys and Undyne found a way to be together without killing each other accidentally. Undyne has become a swim instructor, and builds a shrine dedicated to Gerson the monster who became her father.

GENOCIDE ROUTE

On this path the Human gets zero warning about Undynes aim, and tracking abilities making it more difficult to avoid attacks if they aren't sure what to expect. Also instead of offering MK some of their food, the Human will instead cut off MK's tail causing him to flee in fear. Its revealed later by Undyne that because of this MK was attacked by other monsters and consumed completely.

This is when the fight begins as Undyne tells the Human how much they've been dying to kill them after finding out about Papyrus's death. Then she tells them that while she understood the need to eat, cutting MK's tail off and throwing him to the wolves was shameful. As the fight progresses her attacks become more frantic, and her body begins to change into something more terrifying as the Hunger begins to cause her sanity to crumble with each blow.

Eventually she becomes consumed by the virus and her attacks become extremely unpredictable, and the last blow will cause her to snarl as she falls to the ground bleeding out. Her eyes black, expression unhinged as she crawls towards the human growling despite the blood pouring from her body. The Human will deal the final blow as Undyne gets close clutching onto their leg before saying.

" I am coming home mom ...dad ...Gerson... forgive me ... Alphys..."

When does Deltarune takes place?

A rather simple question, that, from what I can tell, few people can answer. This makes sense, obviously, as the game never states the year, not even in subversive way, like in Undertale.

I checked Deltarune subreddit (sorry), a few YouTube videos with low views and Fandom (sorry), and the first two "sources" have no concrete answer, and Fandom wiki has no say at all (makes sense tbh).

So, a while ago I began thinking about this, and, I have some guesses.

Deltarune takes place in the fall of 2011 or 2012. Or just early 2010s if you feel like this is too specific.

Now I shall explain my thought process. I have two categories of reasoning for this: out of universe and in universe.

Real life stuff

Out of universe stuff includes real life stuff, and, since I'm not Toby, I don't know if either of these are correct. Still, I feel like they're worth a mention.

We know Deltarune began development in 2012. It would make sense, that the game would continue to use that time period, that's because:

2. This game tackles nostalgia, and it would make sense to use a period that would be nostalgic to majority of Deltarune's intended audience.

These two are basically just guesses, but next category actually use in-game evidence.

The technology of Deltarune

The world of Deltarune is clearly supposed to mirror our own. Part of this is done by using 2010s tech.

The phones

Starting with Catti, in chapter 1 she has a smartphone:

That said, so far she's the only person to have a smartphone, which could indicate that they are still not a common item like they are now.

Meanwhile, Kris has a cellphone, something that would still be more common than smartphones before 2013 or so.

The only other visible phone in game is this corded phone in Kris's home:

This kind of corded phone was also kinda replaced by smartphones.

The computers

Computers are a bit more interesting in their visuals in the game. We have:

Kris's and Asriel's, as well as Alphys's computer monitors resemble the ones common in early 2010s.

Computer room in the Librarby has these older monitors, which makes sense, given that libraries tend to have outdated tech due to poor funding. At least someone (probably the mayor) was kind enough to give this high end laptop to the Librarby.

The TVs

Both of TVs we see in the game don't look new:

These look a bit old even for early 2010s, but it can be explained with context. Neither Toriel nor Kris really use their TV, so why would they need a newer one? Meanwhile Asgore probably got the cheapest shit he could get.

In Spamton Sweepstakes there's a blog, that's run by Noelle. Her blog look like a typical GeoCities page. For the record, GeoCities went offline in 2009, and those pages are implied to have been written by younger Noelle.

Why some might think otherwise?

Deltarune has 2 mentions of a certain year:

Spamton and Virovirokun mention 1997 a LOT, which led some to think that the game takes place in early 2000s, or as early as 1998.

I don't think this is the case because 1997 is meant to represent that Spamton is long past his prime, and that Viro' is an outdated virus. Also, you can see technology that wouldn't make sense to be a thing that early.

Then, there's this:

This one led to an obvious conclusion that Deltarune takes place in "202x". So, mystery solved, right?

Na.

This is a cut content, and while this game has a more unique relation with cut content than your typical game, I believe this is one of the exceptions. The whole illustrated manual uses outdated info about mechanics of the game, and, was clearly unfinished. As such, while 2020s might at one point be the period when Deltarune takes place, this is not a proof of that. If it DOES take place in 2020s, we will learn this by some other means in future chapters.

Conclusion

So, does this matter that much anyway? Probably not tbh, given that it's not really said in the game. I do find it interesting that people seem to have such varied answer to a rather simple question. Anywhere between 1998 to 2020s, even though the game clearly depicts early 2010s.

I can't wait to turn out to be an absolute clown because everyone on Tumblr already believe this, which I couldn't find out due to this sites abysmal search functions.

After some days of inactivity, i present to you 2 and a half new CrecheTale characters!

Undyne, Alphys and a mysterious goat person...

I tried my best to make them as canon looking as possible, so enjoy an ugly looking undyne i guess XD

So the twin virus affected Undyne differently, instead of changing it boosted a quality, that being her "use" of determination, that lets you "refuse" to die. Alphys is mostly the same but has more self confidence and is now respected for helping out on the virus´ first sprout.

The mysterious man in the distance...well, its supposed to be a secret but its kinda obvious, right? He still holds juicy lore tho
