I discovered Violett when I was 12-13 years old and in the sixth grade. And to say I was obsessed with her would be an understatement. I drew her religiously (I won't show these drawings because the cringe will kill me), I had art with her on my phone wallpaper for a year and a half and I even started watching Sailor Moon to understand the references in some of the art. I liked her more than the movie she was a fan character for. And thanks to that, I got into drawing and anime.

The dim glow of the city lights reflected in the slick streets of Zootopia as Judy Hopps adjusted her police jacket, her ears twitching in response to the cool breeze. Beside her, Nick Wilde leaned against a lamppost, his signature sly grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.

"Another late night, Carrots?" Nick drawled, flicking a playful glance her way. "Or are you just looking for excuses to keep me out past my bedtime?"

Judy shot him a wry smile, tilting her head. "Maybe I just like your company, Slick. You ever think about that?"

Nick's ears twitched at her words, and for a moment, his grin softened into something more genuine. "Careful, Hopps," he teased, stepping closer, his voice dropping just slightly. "Flattery will get you everywhere."

Judy laughed, the sound light and musical as she met his gaze. She didn’t back away when Nick invaded her space, his larger frame casting a shadow over her. The air between them felt charged, their usual banter suddenly carrying an undertone neither of them wanted to acknowledge too quickly.

"You think I flatter you?" she challenged, raising an eyebrow. "That would require me to lie."

"Ouch," Nick feigned a dramatic wince, placing a paw over his chest. "Straight to the heart, Officer Hopps. You wound me."

Her laughter bubbled again, but this time, it didn’t break the tension. Nick’s expression softened as he looked down at her, the flickering streetlight illuminating the subtle sheen of her fur and the determined spark in her violet eyes.

"You know," he said, his voice quieter now, "you make this whole 'reformed hustler' thing worth it."

Judy blinked at him, caught off guard by the sudden sincerity. Her nose twitched, a tell-tale sign that Nick had come too close to unraveling her composure. She crossed her arms, trying to mask the warmth spreading through her.

"Is that your idea of smooth talk?" she countered, though her voice lacked its usual sharpness.

Nick chuckled, the sound deep and warm. He leaned in just enough that she caught a hint of his cologne—something earthy, with a trace of sweetness. "Depends," he murmured. "Is it working?"

Judy felt her heart skip a beat, but she refused to let him win that easily. Standing on her toes, she poked a finger against his chest. "If it gets you to buy me a coffee, then maybe."

Nick laughed, stepping back and holding his paws up in mock surrender. "Alright, Carrots. One coffee, coming right up. But don’t think I didn’t notice how you dodged the question."

Judy smirked, her cheeks faintly pink under her fur. "Keep wondering, Wilde."

As they walked away, side by side, the spark between them lingered, unspoken but undeniable—a promise of something more, simmering just beneath the surface.

The coffee shop was quiet, with only the soft hum of the overhead lights and the occasional clink of a mug breaking the silence. Judy sat across from Nick, her paws wrapped around a steaming cup of coffee. The heat seeped into her fingers, but it wasn’t enough to distract her from the fox lounging across from her, his green eyes studying her with an intensity that made her shift in her seat.

“You’ve been awfully quiet, Carrots,” Nick teased, leaning forward with his chin resting on one paw. “That’s not like you. Usually, you’re bouncing off the walls with questions or complaints about my ‘attitude.’ What’s the deal?”

Judy rolled her eyes, trying to play it cool despite the quickened pace of her heartbeat. “Maybe I’m just enjoying the peace for once. You should try it.”

Nick smirked, his ears flicking playfully. “Oh, I enjoy plenty of things. But watching you squirm when you’re trying to act aloof? That’s easily one of my favorites.”

Her nose twitched in annoyance, but she refused to rise to the bait. Instead, she took a long sip of her coffee, her eyes narrowing over the rim of her mug. “You’re impossible.”

“And yet,” Nick said, his voice dropping into something softer, “you’re still here.”

Judy opened her mouth to retort but found herself faltering under his gaze. The humor in his expression had shifted into something warmer, something vulnerable. For all his bravado, there was a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes that made her breath catch.

“I guess I am,” she admitted quietly, setting her mug down. “Why do you think that is?”

Nick blinked, the question clearly throwing him off guard. He leaned back, his usual smirk faltering as he searched for a response. “Well,” he started, his tone lighter than his expression, “maybe it’s because I’m devastatingly charming.”

“Nick,” she said, cutting him off. “Be serious.”

He paused, his tail flicking behind him. “Alright,” he said after a moment, his voice lower. “Maybe it’s because I can’t imagine going through a day without you keeping me on my toes.”

The words hung between them, weighty and raw. Judy’s ears flattened slightly, her heart pounding as she looked at him. “Nick, I—”

Before she could finish, Nick reached across the table, his paw hesitating for just a second before brushing against hers. The small touch was electric, and Judy felt herself leaning forward instinctively.

“What are we doing?” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Nick’s lips quirked into a faint smile, one that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Something we probably should have done a long time ago.”

He moved slowly, giving her every chance to pull away. But she didn’t. As his muzzle neared hers, Judy’s heart raced, her breath hitching as their noses brushed. Then, with a mix of hesitation and inevitability, Nick kissed her.

It was soft at first, a mere whisper of contact, but the warmth behind it grew, pulling them both deeper. Time seemed to stand still as they melted into the moment, the unspoken tension that had simmered between them finally breaking free.

When they pulled apart, both slightly breathless, Nick chuckled softly, his paw still resting over hers. “Well, that was… unexpected.”

Judy smiled, her cheeks flushed. “Maybe, but it wasn’t unwelcome.”

Nick’s grin widened, his usual confidence slipping back into place. “Careful, Carrots. I might start thinking you like me.”

She smirked, her ears twitching playfully. “Maybe I do.”

The way Nick’s expression softened told her that, for once, he didn’t have a witty comeback. And for now, she was okay with that

This was such a beatiful movie! Life barely clings on to Zootopia with all of its might. Could there be a cure to stop this virus? Could everyone form truths and bring peace? Only time will tell. For now, they live by one motto. First Day of Summer!!! ☀️

This is a drawing I’ve wanted to do since…the end of summer last year when I thought of it too late 😅 it features Nick and Judy relaxing with an ice cream and a good book 😉 and also mine, @trashasaurusrex and @helthehatter ‘s ocs!
