No threads today but...Language Headcanon!

Vio's Octarian is essentially Filipino. SEA. But!! He comes from the southern part of Octo Valley. So when he speaks 'octraian' it has a bit of a 'southern' twang. Since he speaks multiple dialects of Filipino/Tagalog. HOWEVER, that's the main part Octo Valley which speaks their version of "tagalog. The dialect Vio speaks? 'Illongo' hence the 'twang' in his speaking.

He tends to mix 'main land'/Tagalog dialect with the 'southern'/illoggo since his parents spoke southern dialect to him but also tended to mix up the mainland dialect because of their traveling. A habit he's picked up while growing up; he mixes dialects when he's like angry, confused, or like in destress. OR if hes trying to hyperfocus on something.

When he speaks Tagalog his Illongo accent REALLY shines through. It's kinda embarrassing-- Essensiitaly it's the equivalent of him having a cowboy accent.

As he learns Inklish on the surface he eventually loses that southern accent.

He's just a cowboy without being a cowboy.
