Ok Y’all

I don’t know how the Michael/Michaela Genderswap is going on here but I was discussing it with my mom and wanted to see if everyone else shares a similar idea to us about Frannie’s season of the show as it relates to Michaela and her storyline during her siblings seasons that will respect both love stories and the topics discussed.

These are of course just my opinions. This is wordy and I wrote this after binging the whole season it’s 2 am so please bear with me.

TW: infertility, discussions and mentions of loss of spouse and pregnancy

Season 4 (Benedict)

It’s been a year so Francesca and John are delivering a happy Eloise (who has in fact seen past Aubrey hall and for other reasons 😉) home to the ton for the Bridgerton Family Masquerade ball (hosted by both the Viscountess and Dowager Vicountess)

Francesca seems off in the crowds, more so than she did during her season the previous year.

Ofc, Violet picks up on it and is so distracted by it she doesn’t notice her son leave the ballroom with an extra guest (iykyk)

We see Lady Danbury and her brother getting along and jesting with each other.

Violet learns of Frannie’s and John’s struggles with conceiving (whether it be it not happening or the pain of a loss) and supports them both with kind words and items of knowledge she has heard from the other mamas after many a conversation and the information is asked for (we love a respectful queen)

We see Michaela and her personality longer that 2 seconds☺️

Throughout the season we watch Eloise grabbing letters from Sophie (if they keep the Cinderella storyline) and rushing off to her room (from a Phillip who hopes for a love match after figuring out Eloise’s personality because our girl deserves a love match and those kids deserve a support system after what would be the passing of Marina)

We see Frannie and John return to Kilmartin House and try — Michaela offering a shoulder of support to Frannie as she tries to remain hopeful—

Sophie and Benedict’s plot goes on

As they are in town for Ben and Sophie’s small ceremony, we see a happy Frannie and John who quietly tell Violet they are expecting a baby (can be now or the next season maybe not yet?)

Sophie and Benedict go to My Cottage

Season 5 (Eloise)

Eloise gets a letter from Phillip (and we learn that she met a widowed Phillip while he was conducting research on the Kilmartin property and begins correspondence) inviting her for a visit. She goes to Pen and confesses to her about the written courtship

Eloise and Penelope visit Phillip because our girl is not being forced into marriage (and hopefully My Cottage exists in the TVverse)

Violet and Lady Danbury support one another and discuss as they have never experienced a written courtship before and they don’t understand it

Francesca is in town for the season with a beautiful baby boy or girl, John of course has a seat at parliament and needs to be there. Michaela always has a spot in the Kilmartin house so she has came down as well.

We still get the “tell me something wicked” portion as Michaela has revealed her secret to Frannie (plus we get to keep Frannie’s curiosity 😉)

We see Eloise and Phillip ACTUALLY get to know one another and we get to see an actual courtship and the kids warm up to Eloise (Pranks of course will ensue)

Eloise and Phillip marry happily

We see John and Francesca at home, he’s complaining of a headache. Frannie and Michaela have him go lay down before their nightly walk and gossip

Eloise and Phillip do their thing (I mean this is about Frannie but I feel this is how the show should be and I can’t stop myself)

JOHN DIES OFF SCREEN — for the love of everything that is good and holy I can’t watch our babies suffer like the scene in the book. Maybe we see Violet get an urgent message and rush to Francesca’s side.

Season Six (Francesca)

It’s been a month since John passed, a pregnant Francesca is keeping everything together with help from Michaela as her son John Jr (or smth) is too young to take over the title just yet.

Both are in mourning. We see Michaela go through her feelings for both the man she considers her brother and the feelings she has for his wife.

We watch Francesca and her bad luck with rain constantly going on walks.

We see Michaela watch her love and friend suffer with the loss of everything she knew.

We see our girls grieve together and get even closer

Michaela is forced to return to her mother (as a woman can’t travel has been a big pointed issue in the last few seasons) so we can give Francesca and Michaela time to make sure they have somewhat healed because our girls deserve a good start

By the time Michaela is able to return time has passed and the letters passed back and forth have not been frequent or consistent so we have some initial awkwardness

We have baby Janet Stirling

Hyacinth is making her debut so Frannie and the kids are in town to support her, Kate, and Violet — we get sister supporting sister and making sure they stay sane

Ofc Hyacinth is spending time with lady Danbury too

We watch our girls fall in love with each other

We see Francesca confess to her mother that she doesn’t want to remarry and is finding comfort with her love

We see Violet be confused only due to the era and its normally kept secret but she accepts that her daughter is happy, supporting them as a couple

We see the girls be guilty like they do in the book but both come to terms that John would be happy that 2 of the people he loves most in this world are happy with each other.

We see hints of Hyacinths love interest through lady Danbury (because we still need that plot point in our lives a Danbury/Bridgerton Family Merger) and all of our Wed bridgerton siblings in the countryside with all the cousins playing happily.

Auntie Michaela is great with all the kids

We see Francesca happy knowing she has had 2 great romances in her life and a wonderful family.

WE STILL GET “Thank you Michaela for letting my son love her first”

In Conclusion

All of this is to say we can stay true to Francesca’s love for John and have our Michaela and Frannie’s storyline with their love too.

We can still have the infertility storyline whether it be immediate, loss, or secondary the writers can make sure that it is respected and brought in respectfully while keeping the regency theme

Y’know I want to see Eloise’s story tweaked (I have strong feelings about her getting a fair love story)

While we can’t have the Michael imposter syndrome portion we can still see a love story worthy of a Julia Quinn novel

TLDR: Just because it’s different doesn’t mean that it isn’t going to be good. I have faith that the writers will make sure these characters and their stories different or same are done respectfully.

WEARY MEMORY: 1 - PROLOGUE: WEARY MEMORIES I CAN ALWAYS SEE

[SUMMARY: How did we get here?

NOTE: Warning: This exposition dump is very sad. It’s sad, ya’ll.]

Kate, age 10

Kate lives with her parents, Kaveri and Maaran, in Bangaluru, until her mother dies from injuries sustained in a car accident both she and Kate were in that was caused by hydroplaning during a heavy storm. Maaran moves Kate and himself to London afterwards. He had been offered a promotion that he had been considering turning down because of the required move, but changed his mind to give Kate a fresh start.

Kate, age 11

Maaran marries Mary a year after he and Kate arrive in London. Kate, a grieving preteen, doesn't readily accept Mary as a mother figure. Another year later sees Mary giving birth to Edwina. Edwina brings Kate and Mary closer together, and Kate comes to love her as her Bonus Mum.

Kate and Anthony, ages 17 and 20

Anthony and Kate meet by chance on campus at Oxford, Anthony being three years ahead of her, and almost done with school. He’s a writer who plans to write children’s books full-time after he graduates, his parents owning a generations-old publishing house, The Bridgerton Press.

Kate and Anthony, ages 19 and 22

By the time Kate and Anthony get engaged, Maaran is terminally ill. His death about six months into their engagement pushes their wedding back a year, due to Kate's own grieving and feeling like her relationship needs to take a backseat to caring for Mary and Edwina, who is seven years old when Maaran dies. The fact that neither of her parents lived to see her get married is devastating to Kate as well as Anthony. The two become Edwina’s de facto parents while Mary struggles with her depression.

Kate and Anthony, ages 24 and 27 Edmund (Ned) and Maaran (Maan), ages 2 and 0

Three years into their marriage, Kate and Anthony are happily married with two children, two year old Edmund Jr (“Ned”) and baby Maaran (“Maan”). Kate is a budding independent fashion designer, and Anthony is living his dream of writing children’s books, which Kate illustrates. Their life is again turned upside down when Edmund Sr dies from anaphylaxis. A bee had made its way inside of his and Violet’s home while he was alone. He didn’t always carry his epipen on his person when he was home, and couldn’t reach it in time after he was stung.

Anthony feels compelled to take over as President and CEO of The Bridgerton Press. His mother’s long term grief leaves her unavailable, and none of his adult siblings volunteer to help him take over running the company. Nor does he ask for help.

Much like they did with Mary and Edwina, Anthony and Kate take on the caretaking of Violet and Anthony’s younger siblings, Gregory and Hyacinth. This, along with heading up The Bridgerton Press, leaves Anthony with no time to write his own stories.

Kate and Anthony, ages 29 and 32 Edmund, Maaran, and Kaveri (Riri, Kav), ages 7, 5, and 0

Anthony and Kate’s third child, Kaveri (“Riri”, “Kav”), is born five years later, and Kate's resulting postpartum depression is debilitating. Anthony tries to be as understanding and supportive as possible, but they soon find themselves in a rapid decline of their marriage. Kate and Anthony are divorced by the time Kaveri is three years old.

How do you think the family would react if someone openly accused Sophie of being a Country Whore who Benedict had cleaned up for the ton? I feel like it would be Sophie's greatest fear come to life. Imagine if her children were old enough to understand the accusation and be socially affected by it? Could imagine if it was Violet Jr. Suitors family who then had objections? She would have no way to protect them.

Sophie would instantly panic but I think the entire Bridgerton Bridgade, Hastings, Danbury and Kilmartin clans would be instantly backing up Sophie’s story. Have her back and the person who said it would be run out of London…

I think by the time Violet Jnr is of age Benedict is such a well respected artist and I HC that Alexander is friends with Prince Albert that they wouldn’t dare.

I do have that Edward’s family (yes Vivi’s Suitor and husband in my world is called Edward!) have reservations about her as she’s the daughter of a second son, but when the learn who WHO her brother is and the connection to the Queen…

They’re fucking Thrilled which shuts down any stories and issues!

I’m only listing the fandoms/characters I enjoy writing for, and then my all time favourite characters to write for will be indicated as shown below. If you request a headcanon for a fandom, without one specific character/a few select characters, I will write for most of the characters on the list below said fandom, provided the list isn’t too long. 

Feel free to ask if I’ve watched a show/movie and/or if I’d be willing to write for a certain character. I might have left it off the list, or might be interested in getting into it. 

Also, I’d like to preface this list by saying that me writing romantically for kid characters doesn’t mean I’m romantically attracted to them. Funnily enough, I (born in 2005) have no romantic interest in a 12-year-old character. To me, it’s no different than an author romantically pairing up two of their same-age child characters. That being said, I have indicated under certain fandoms that I’d prefer writing for characters as being aged up at least a couple of years if the request is romantic.

a little Drabble Ben + Sophie + their little princess.... let’s see shall we?

Sophie will never forget the day Violet Bridgerton the second came screaming into this world.

Out of her four children, her pregnancy with her daughter had been the hardest... and the actual birth had been the worst.

Violet had come into the world breech... the pain has been excruciating and Sophie for the first time felt real panic she wouldn’t live to see the next morning...

But when she heard that scream, that ear piercing cry and “congratulations Mrs Bridgerton... you have a daughter” Sophie burst into tears.

Finally.

She held the tiny bundle in her arms as her husband broke down into sobs next to her... and as she handed their daughter, who’s small mop of hair was clearly lighter than that of her brothers... Sophie knew, from the look on Benedict’s face she would have to share her husbands heart with another.

As Benedict stared down at his daughter, the crying stopped in an instance and her tiny, even more tiny than the boys had ever been, hand grabbed his thumb and held on with such force he knew...

He would do anything for his daughter.

In the weeks following her birth, Violet would cry if she couldn’t see her father. She wouldn’t feed if he wasn’t there, she wouldn’t sleep without him... Sophie felt exhausted as Benedict had taken the boys out for a few hours and all her daughter did was cry.

Until she threw up. And then cried some more.

She was 8 weeks old before she would settle without her father being there.

As a baby Benedict would take her cot into his studio and work, rocking her crib with his foot as he worked.

Her first words, unlike the boys who’s first word has been “mama”, Violet had squealed “Papa” Benedict had cried for an hour after.

Violet was Benedict shadow. If she wasn’t chasing William around, she could be found with her Papa.

The only time Sophie became jealous of the time the pair spent together was when the boys had gone over to Romney Hall for Oliver’s birthday and were having sleep over. Violet was 3 and had been in the studio all day with Benedict painting and telling stories and having a tea party... and Violet had said it was just “Papa and vivi” time...

(William who was only 2 when she was born couldn’t say Violet and had called her vivi.... which just stuck with all her brothers)

She’d ended up dining alone that evening... it was past Violet’s bedtime and Benedict still hadn’t come to her.

It was bad enough she’d been excluded from the entire day but now... to be waiting for husband to come to bed was just... the irrational sting of jealousy hit Sophie for the first time in their 10 years of marriage.

Jealously at her own daughter. The one thing Benedict had wanted above all else...

Wrapping herself In her robe she made her way to the studio, pushing the door open, she saw Benedict with their sleeping daughter on his chest lounging as he flicked a brush against the canvas in front of him.

It should have made her heart sing, her heart melt to see her husband, being the doting father she knew he was, the sight of him and their little princess but Sophie felt a little put out.

She cleared her throat at the door “is Papa and Vivi’s day over now... or is Papa sleeping in here tonight instead of with Mama in their bed?” She asked trying to keep the twinge of pain from her voice.

“What time is it...?” Benedict asked as he glanced up at the clock on the mantle and saw it was after 10pm “oh sorry my love... I guess she just got comfortable and fell asleep... I didn’t want to disturb her” he said smiling at the little blonde girl in his arms.

Sophie just crossed her arms over her chest “I assumed as much. Rather leave your wife alone all day and night than move her” unable to keep the pain and stabs of jealousy from her voice “sorry to disturb you both” she said and left heading back to their bedroom, climbing into bed and desperately willing herself not to cry.

She knew it was ridiculous to be jealous. She’d spent countless days with the boys whilst Benedict painted but she always made time to include him. Always came and got him as the boys went to bed... it was the first time she actually felt lonely.

Benedict had felt his heart lurch at the pain in his wife’s face, the pain in her voice as she’d left his studio. He hadn’t realised the time. It did often get away from him in his studio and he and Violet had been working on something for Sophie but he felt guilt wash over him.

She’d been by herself all day, clearly haven eaten dinner without him as the housekeeper had brought his and Violet’s up...

He carefully took Violet to the nursery and put her in her crib. Went back and grabbed the now dry painting and headed to bed.

As he pushed the door open he listened for the sound of Sophie’s breathing to see if she was a sleep... after 10 years of marriage he knew if she was faking sleep or not...

“Soph...” he said softly as he took off his clothes and climbed into bed, having placed the canvas at the side of the bed.

She ignored him.

He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him “Soph... I know you’re not asleep... come on love... please look at me”

He leaned over and pressed a feather light kiss on her brow “Sophia... my love...” he said as she continued to ignore him.

He sighed and snuggled into next to her “you know I still love you... and I’m sorry I let time get away with me... I should have come to dinner, I should have brought Vivi down but we were making something...”

He pressed a kiss to her neck in the spot he knew would make her tingle and shiver... which it did

“Vivi wanted to make a painting for Mama... and we got a little distracted....” Benedict said softly

“She did?” Sophie said her voice small and quiet, she still hadn’t opened her eyes to look at him

“She did... she wanted to surprise you... she loves you very much you know... as do I...” he said as he pressed another gentle kiss this time to her nose.

“I’ve brought it in if you want to look at it...” he said softly.

Sophie turned slightly and nodded as she opened her eyes, looking at him directly.

Benedict could see the redness in her beautiful green eyes from where she’d clearly been crying and felt his heart break a little.

He brushed her cheeks with his thumb and lifted the canvas to show her the work in progress.

A painting of Sophie wearing a crown, half filled in and their daughter, so startlingly like her mother sat on her knee.

“Vivi said that mama was a queen and she wanted a picture of queen mama and princess Vivi” he said as Sophie’s eyes filled with tears

“Oh Benedict... it’s beautiful” she said her voice choked with emotion.

“See she does love you... she wanted it to be a surprise but I rather felt you might be feeling a little neglected...” he said softly

“Not so much neglected but...” she paused biting her lip “a little jealous I guess... Vivi always wants to be with you. She always has done... I guess... or I had hoped as she got older she might want to spend more time with her Mama as the boys did with you” she sighed a little sadly.

Benedict leaned down and put the canvas back on the floor and pulled his wife onto his knee “soph... you’re an incredible mother. Our children adore you and she will, as she gets older she’ll not want her old Papa all the time. She’ll want to be with you, doing girl things and she will want her Mama” he stroked her cheek

Sophie leaned into her husband “I do rather think she’s always going to be a Papa’s little girl so don’t worry about that... I am sorry I got jealous...” she said softly her head resting on his shoulder.

He leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her lips “you have no reason to be sorry my love... I am sorry I did not realise... but if you will allow me to...” he said his fingers brushing along the outside of her nightgown “I have some neglect of my beautiful wife that needs attending to”

Sophie smirked at him and nodded “well it wouldn’t be very good of me to protest that now would it”

And as Benedict slid of her gown and worshiped his wife, Sophie’s love for her husband grew tenfold knowing that yes, their daughter may share her husbands heart but she was the one who held the key... and she knew there was no better man she’d share her heart and children with.
