in retrospect, soooo rude of Arkady to see one (1) person hit on Sana and go damn, this is just like that time you were hooking up with the son of the owners of our prison planet and then he bailed, thus scrambling our uprising plans

Rise of the Bread Dogs: Hololive, Precure, and Pokémon
There must have been something fermenting in the collective imagination of 2022. Last year gave us not one, not two, but three different forms of media featuring cute dogs combined with bread. And as many minds landed on this same idea of oven-baked canines, they all appeared to be guided by more than merchandising power alone. Sanallites The first bread dog of note is an embodiment of the…

‘Sana squints up at the figure silhouetted against the garishly bright sky.
“Hey, Violet,” she rasps, voice rough with disuse. “What do you need?” Sana moves to stand in the shade of the ship before the sunlight can give her a headache.
“Do you need any help out here? I was hoping I could get the chance to talk with you.” Violet is nervous, arms locked across her chest and her fingers tapping.
“Listen, Violet, now really isn’t the best time—“
“It’s Arkady. She said you had some things to tell me.”’

TSCOSI Ficlets #5
Waking up in the body of your AU self
Sana woke with a cough. That and the clanging of metal was almost loud enough to camouflage the small voice going "oh, fuck." It took only a second of steady breathing to place the voice as Violet's and another of opened eyes to spot her.
Sana may have been the one lying on the med bay cot, but Violet was the one who looked wrong - a ponytail her hair should be too short for, Arkady's IGR guard jacket instead of her own sweater or crew jacket.
"Captain Tripathi." One of Violet's hands was shoved into her jacket pocket, an upturned chair behind her. There was an intensity to Violet's gaze that didn't seem entirely medical. She'd seen Violet calmer when faced with an actively bleeding patient.
No blood here, only a growing headache. "Violet, an update? Last thing I remember is piloting the ship. How long was I out for?"
"Less than an hour." Violet frowned. "I-I had to shift here to monitor you."
The door slid open with a beep, Arkady striding through. At least she looked as Sana expected, tank and tactical pants and close-cropped hair.
"Thought I told you to comm me as soon as she woke up, Liu." Arkady glowered as she leant back against the end of the cot.
"It hasn't been that long." Sana lightly nudged the small of Arkady's back with her foot. "I'm sure Violet was about to."
Arkady froze. Something sick curled in Sana's gut at how Arkady's shoulders relaxed once Sana jerked her foot away. It curled tighter at the wary looks Violet and Arkady traded.
"I was," Violet finally said. "Your scans were normal, Captain. It could've been simple dehydration."
"Dehydration." Arkady crossed her arms, apparently ending whatever shared moment they'd had. "Seriously?"
"Why exactly would I lie, First Mate Patel?" snapped Violet, shoulders hunched. "I know it wouldn't end well."
Arkady made a sound of frustration. "Wasn't an accusation." She stepped in between Violet and Sana, making eye contact with the latter. "Wasn't. I was the only one near you when you fainted. Anyway, need anything else from Liu?"
"No?" Sana's headache wasn't subsiding, but if asking for painkillers would trigger more of whatever she witnessed, she'd rather hold out.
"Great!" Arkady swept Violet out the medbay with an unexpected swiftness, though Sana caught sight of Arkady scanning something to open the door. Shit. That was the final straw. You didn't lock exits on a ship.
Only an hour, impossible. Who's turned her crew against her and each other? Who's managed to turn Arkady against her? Made them willing to keep her prisoner on her own ship?
Arkady must have noticed her growing panic, because she approached the cot with her hands up and a grin that didn't reach her eyes. "Captain, it's Liu. She's completely harmless. Even if she wasn't"-Arkady snorts-"she knows you've got eyes and automated systems on every part of this ship."
Arkady jerked her head towards a table where a tablet and gun lay. "Everyone else has been at their stations. Jeeter's in his room, and Krejjh is sha-"
"You left a gun here?" asked Sana. The tablet unlocked itself at Sana's touch, displaying a single camera feed of the mess hall. A swipe showed the airlock. Another Violet walking down a corridor. Another a small bedroom.
"Already feeling good enough to test me, Sana?" Arkady's fingers twitched. She tapped the single holster on her hip, no others to be seen (how had Sana missed that, she shouldn't have missed that.) Arkady forced her grin wider. "Come on, we solved my little paranoia problem ages ago, right?"
"Right," said Sana, letting the instinct to reassure her best friend take over as the full realization of what she held in her hands hit her.
Sana wasn't the prisoner of this ship. She was its warden.

Awkward Comfort
“There’s nothing to be done,” Park says, and he knows it’s a mistake as soon as the words leave him. Foolish, foolish, foolish.
Captain Tripathi doesn’t snap at him. Instead, she lets out a shaky sigh, head leaned back against the wall that separates her from the medbay where Patel’s fighting for her life, Liu and McCabe doing their level best to help her.
Park needs - wants? - to expend at least a similar level of effort in monitoring the captain. He has never seen (or heard) her so unsettled, or so despairing. He sits down next to her on the hallway floor. The movement is not very graceful, and something in his right knee twinges.
“You’re not wrong,” the captain finally says. Her voice is as wry as ever, but with none of its usual mirth. “The time to do something would have been before leading Arkady to an ambush.”
“Captain Tripathi,” Park reasons, “with the intelligence we had, we all thought the deal was legitimate. There was no way we could have-”
Her gaze turns steely. “My best friend got really hurt because of that ‘legitimate deal’, forgive me if I’m not in the mood for IGR-standard ass-covering.”
Park flinches.
“Park-that wasn’t fair of me. It’s-”
“No,” Park interrupts against his instincts, fingers curling around his scarred knee, “I think that’s a fair assessment.”
He pauses for a moment, turning his next words over in his head. He often wishes Shelly was with him on this strange turn his life had taken, but especially now, when she would’ve at least gotten some joy out of his struggles to offer comfort, if not having any advice of her own.
Park slowly says, “I also believe my ass-covering to be accurate as well. Not even Patel could blame you.”
Captain Tripathi snorts. “You did a poor job listening in if you thought Arkady wouldn’t be the last person to blame me.”
“She has some degree of self-preservation. And an excellent medic working on her.” Park thinks back to the few files he’d dug up on Liu’s time by O-11, the hours of work rewarded with little actionable intelligence. “If there was a warning sign, I’m sure Patel will regale us on the matter when she recovers.”
“She would.” The captain shakes her head. “She will. I’m going to stick around out here, Park, but you don’t have to.”
“Is there something that needs to be done elsewhere?” An easy opening for her to dismiss him. He rather hopes she doesn’t. Getting up would be a far less graceful process than sitting down. Worse yet, Park finds he doesn’t like the idea of her waiting alone, even if the alternative is his stilted company.
“No.” Sana’s eyes focus on him. He has the uncanny feeling she’s figured out something about him. “Not at all.”
Mundane AU
"It can't be that bad, dude," said Brian, sounding very reasonable as he took a sip of his hot chocolate. "Wasn't it already kinda bad?"
"Yes." Violet stared out the cafe window. The bright sunlight only aggravated her hangover, but it was far too late for her to hide from the day. "I also thought the week couldn't get worse than the department chair telling me that the direction of my dissertation was completely pointless. While my advisor said nothing."
Brian winced, even though she'd already told him this. He had his own horror stories about grad school, from before he'd dropped out. But that wasn't why Violet had texted him this morning.
"What happened?" asked Brian. "Did your advisor say something?"
"No," said Violet, almost wishing she had. "Your friends, the ones I met last night?"
"Arkady and Sana, yeah." Brian grins. "It seemed like you three hit it off. Sorry Krejjh and I had to head out early, moving has us beat."
"We did," admitted Violet. "After the bar, they showed me the flower shop and tattoo parlor." She grimaced. "I think I drank too much - I vaguely remember them insisting on walking me home?"
"Dude, that doesn't seem like that big a deal," said Brian. "Arkady's had to sleep it off on our couch plenty of times."
Violet cut to the chase. "Brian, when I woke up today, there was a bouquet of flowers on the nightstand. And next to it, a sketch of a tattoo design."
"Tattoos like the kind you swore off forever?" joked Brian, who had heard all about the very ill-advised hip tattoo decisions Violet had made in undergrad.
"It, um." Violet blushed. "It incorporated my current one. It actually made it look pretty good? The point is, I texted them this morning. Only I...thanked Sana for the flowers, and Arkady for the tattoo design."
"You didn't," protests Brian.
"I did. I didn't even realize until they texted me back." She leaned across the table to show him their replies. (Sana: You should thank Arkady for those! :D, Arkady: uh what liu? think you meant to text tripathi)
The disbelief was evident in Brian's eyes. "I introduced you guys to each other, Violet."
"Yeah, and you said 'this is Sana and Arkady, they run the flower shop and the tattoo parlor down on Rumor Street'. You never actually said who ran what!"
"You were in their shops!"
"We didn't actually talk about work that much. And they kept bouncing ideas off each other, I just thought they knew each other that well."
"Well, they do," said Brian, frowning. "But Sana's tattoos!"
"What about them?" asked Violet, taking a big gulp of her coffee.
"Isn't the woman with tattoo sleeves more likely to be the tattoo artist?"
"Arkady has a tattoo too, a number on her shoulder," argued Violet. Embarrassed, she mumbled her next defense. "I...thought of that puzzle. You know, the one where a town only has two barbers and-"
"-and you have to pick which one to get a haircut from, and one of them has a great haircut while the other one doesn't?" Brian's face lights up in recognition and amusement. "Kinda only applies in a town that only has two barbers, Violet. I think Sana got hers before she even moved here?"
"I probably seem like a complete idiot," said Violet, fidgeting with the handle of her mug. "Or worse."
"I don't think they'll hold it against you." Brian glanced at his phone after it lit up with a notification, smiling at whatever it was. "Not their style."
Wrist Kisses
When Violet returned to Arkady's room, her first order of business was falling back on the bed. Her second was a bone-deep sigh.
A snort of amusement came from where Arkady's desk stood. "Another talk-through?"
"Yeah." Violet closed her eyes. She would be eternally grateful for Dr Robinson's crash course. But the universe was still short on doctors, let alone non-IGR ones, and Violet hadn't helped that shortage when she'd decided to leave Telemachus for a spot on Sana's new ship. The least she could do was consult over calls. It meant squinting through poor video and only being able to offer her words, not her work.
She didn't mind. Even for the worst of those calls, she'd found it terrifying and satisfying and thrilling all at once. She hardly knew which of those were the best ways to feel.
"Bad call?" asked Arkady. Closer, this time.
"No, just some long ones."
Arkady hummed in acknowledgement. Violet blinked her eyes open in time to find Arkady hovering over her, the mattress sinking a little deeper with their combined weight. She grasped Arkady's face in her hands. Ran her thumb over the short hairs around Arkady's ears. It was grounding, holding Arkady, in a way that made Violet feel uncomfortably selfish.
"Sorry," said Violet, "I was planning on showering before I swung by."
"Yeah, Liu, you're absolutely filthy from uh, spending all day talking to people. Really contaminating my room," teased Arkady, who then turned her head to press a slow kiss to Violet's left wrist.
"I could go shower now." Violet shifted her arm to give Arkady better access. "There's still time before dinner."
Arkady shook her head, and responded between kisses that made their way up (or was it down?) Violet's arm. "Well, you've already ruined the sheets. We shouldn't waste it."

“Do you think Lady Furina is done speaking with Cloud Retainer now?” Eponine tried to look unbothered by the fact that she was thirty minutes overdue for a bathroom break, leaning against the railing with an expression of forced nonchalance that was starting to crack.
“At this point, I think it’s safe to ask if we can skirt through the room,” Sana sighed, knocking on the balcony door. “Lady Furina? May we enter or are you two still-”
“Uh…captain?” Fantine called, squinting at something high above them. “I admit I spaced out during the briefing, but do we have any other strange flying animals as guests other than Madam Cloud Retainer?”
“At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised,” Sana said, shielding her eyes as she followed Fantine’s gaze. After a few moments of concentrated staring, she spotted a small figure against the pale blue sky. Two large wings spread out, catching the thermals over the city as it floated down on the wind. At first, she thought it was a bird, but the closer it got the more human the creature looked which only made Sana more nervous.
“Hey…don’t people ride wind gliders in Mondstadt?” Eponine asked, unbuckling her pistol holster. “That’s not one of the Knights of Favonius, is it?”
The door opened to an apologetic looking Furina. “Thank you so much for waiting, ladies; I just needed to confer with Madam Cloud Retainer on some pressing …oh heavens, is that another crane?”
“Ma’am…please return inside until we know for sure,” Sana insisted, shielding Furina with her body. The figure swooped, gaining speed as it rocketed towards the roof above the balcony. Ten meters above the Palais, its wings flared, allowing it to skid to a halt on the rooftop in a flutter of flowing silk and dislodged roof tiles.
“Oi!” Sana called up, her Sumeran accent slipping through as she drew her sword. Dendro energy twisted into thorny vines as it ran along the length of the blade, adding wicked barbs to her weapon. “Get down from there!”
“Can one be of any assistance?” Cloud Retainer asked as Furina craned her neck up at the slender young man perched on the rooftop. From behind Sana’s shoulder, Furina could spy an ornate, broad-brimmed hat that she immediately wanted for her own collection as well as a half-open jacket the color of spring wind. Short dark hair ended just below his ears and violet eyes looked out over the city, scanning the skyline for something that had nothing to do with the Archon beneath him.
“E-Excuse me!” Furina called up, irritation growing as it seemed the intruder was ignoring her after barging onto her home. “Hello?! Captain Sana is talking to you! You are trespassing on the Archon’s-”
“Could you keep your voice down?” The figure said, not even looking at Furina. “I’ll be out of your hair in a second; I just need to sniff someone out and this is the highest spot in the city.”
Furina’s mouth hung open, an impotent cry of disgust half formed on her lips. “Ex-cuse me?! You can’t just-”
“I said keep your voice down,” the stranger said, finally leaning over to aggressively shush the Regina of All Waters, Kindreds, Peoples, and Laws in front of her staff. “You can yap your little head off once I find who I’m looking for so kindly cork your croissant-hole and let me concentrate.”
“You want me to break his legs, ma’am?” Fantine whispered, fitting a pair of brass knuckles on her hands.
“We can tell M. Neuvillette that he slipped and fell…” Eponine agreed.
“You clearly aren’t from around here,” Sana said, trying her best to keep an even and professional tone. “You are in the presence of the Hydro Archon, Lady Furina de Fontaine. As the captain of her personal guard, I must ask that you show her the respect she is due…and kindly get off the rooftop!”
The young man leaned over, squinting at Eponine. “...is that her?”
“No!” Furina snapped.
“Oh…is that her then?” The stranger said, pointing at Fantine. “The chick behind you is dressed like she’s from Liyue so I don’t think it’s her-”
“Me!” Furina snapped, stamping her foot. “It’s me! I am the Hydro Archon and that is my rooftop you are standing on!”
The stranger cocked his head to the side, squinting at Furina’s crimson expression as though trying to figure out if she was lying. “...really? The way you’re dressed, I figured you were some kind of court jester or something.”
“J-Jester?!” Rather than shrink away from the stranger as he landed on the balcony, Furina marched up to him with the pugnaciousness of a particularly petite Pomeranian, brushing Sana’s hand off as she tried to hold her back. “That is rich from someone wearing tassels on his hat!”
“Lady, if you want to have a dumb hat contest, leave me out of it,” the stranger snorted. “You clearly have an unfair advantage.”
“You miserable…” Furina cleared her throat, forcing her impotent human rage into a divine mold. “Identify yourself and declare your intentions before I have you thrown in a cell!”
Despite being face to forehead with the Hydro Archon, the stranger just looked irritated that his search was interrupted. “You have a funny way of greeting guests; I came all the way from Inazuma on your invitation only to get yelled at when I finally show up...”
“Inazuma?” Furina blinked as the stranger fumbled around for a scroll that he chucked at Fantine. “Why aren’t you with the rest of your countrymen at the Opera?”
“I didn’t want to waste time making small talk with your Iudex, so I bailed and decided to go sightseeing on my own,” the young man said, nodding at Fantine. “You, Miss Not-Archon; do something useful and introduce me.”
“I’ll announce my…foot in your ass…” Fantine muttered, dutifully opening the scroll. “Presenting Monsieur Minamoto no Makoto…First Child of the Storm and Natural Offspring of-”
Fantine paled, glancing at Makoto whose smug expression had grown even smugger. “...th-the Raiden Shogun.”

Tobacco and Tangerines
Rated: M
Fandom: One Piece (Netflix Show, Anime, and Manga)
Pairing: Sanji x Nami (SaNa or SaNami)
Story Summary: A night of celebration aboard the Going Merry ends with their navigator and chef growing closer than either could have expected...but neither one is complaining.
>>>>><<<<<<>>>>><<<<<
Nami opened her eyes only to see hair the color of spun gold glistening in the sun coming through the port window. As she came further back into her body from the sleep that settled heavily over her, she felt a pleasant ache settled between her legs and the warmth of arms wrapped across her shoulders in a loose embrace. Another steady heartbeat pounding against her naked breast and the heat of soft breathing upon her throat had her recalling the previous night and a soft smile rose to her lips without her permission.
Sanji lay naked and fast asleep with his head pillowed on her chest.
Oh… That's right.
It all came back suddenly in bits and pieces.
A celebration of their latest victory, fizzy alcoholic drinks and the most delicious food she'd ever tasted.
Luffy was animated as always. The rubber boy smiling wide and talking a mile a minute with his mouth full until he became enthralled in Usopp's latest tall tales of adventures Nami knew the sharp shooter had never been on. Yet that didn't stop them from being entertaining. Zoro's brooding silence as he finally had the excuse to drink and drink and drink some more while silently watching the celebration unfold with a fondness in his eyes he'd sooner die than verbally admit to.
Yet mostly, she was left recalling the plate of beautiful tangerine tarts Sanji had made especially for her. The sight of the plump caramelized fruit set artistically in a flaky crust the beautiful color of burnished gold. Almost too pretty to eat... Almost. Lifting her eyes to witness Sanji's gentle (not flirty for once) smile, and maybe it was the alcohol talking, but she realized she wanted to kiss that smile off his annoyingly handsome face.
So she did.
After a few more rounds of drinks and more Hors D'oeuvre served with his signature flare, Sanji slipped quietly out from the galley, disappearing into the night for a quick smoke break. Not allowing this golden opportunity to slip through her fingers, Nami made sure her crewmates were otherwise occupied before she followed him.
Sanji stood at the railing, smoke making swirls of white into the darkness surrounding them. The end of his cigarette flashing hints of vibrant orange onto his pale skin. Orange looked good on him… Yet as she slipped next to his side, Nami's eyes lifted into the sky; nothing but varying shades of midnight blue and violet with a shower of stars stretching across the horizon. Taking in the comforting silence with her newest crewmate and friend as well as the beautiful scenery, Nami slowly bit into the tangerine tart she'd brought along with her. The ginger-haired girl closing her eyes, a hum of appreciation amidst the taste of home she remembered so vividly dancing on her tongue.
"How's it taste?" Sanji's voice was honey and the finest wine mixed with the heady scent of smoke.
Nami didn't answer. Merely scooted closer to his side until they were touching. She silently lifted the crescent moon shaped piece of tart that was left and pressed it to his pursed lips. Sanji look surprised for a moment but he quickly acquiesced to her silent demand; always trusting, he easily opened his mouth to allow her to place the remainder of the tart upon his tongue. Petal soft lips brushed against her trembling fingertips before she pulled her hand back. Sanji chewed slowly as she watched the stars from the night sky sparkle in his eyes, blue irises a vibrant shade perfectly replicating a cloudless summer day.
Nami's brown eyes drifting to his Adam's apple as he audibly swallowed before flashing her another of those gentle smiles from the galley.
Afraid to lose her nerve, Nami didn't wait another second. Trembling hand resting at his nape as she pulled herself to her tiptoes and kissed the smile right off his lips. Sanji flinched for only a mere second before he flicked the still lit cigarette into the ocean. Those hands that were always in his pockets found purchase at her waist. Palms and fingers so large and warm against her skin from where her shirt rode up and Nami's skin tingled from everywhere they were touching. Wanting to feel more of it, she'd wrapped her arms around his neck and further deepened their kiss.
Tobacco and Tangerines - a heady combination and perhaps her new favorite flavor.
Needing air, Nami broke their kiss but didn't go far. Merely panted as she pressed her forehead to his own, a grin on her lips as his blonde fringe tickled her skin. Sanji's eyes had darkened, his pupils dilated as he stared at her in open and honest awe-struck wonder.
If Nami didn't have such a good poker face, she'd probably be of a similar reflection.
"It's good…" she whispered against his lips to answer his earlier question. "Hmm. Really good, actually," she reiterated only moments before going in for seconds.
The rest of the night was a blur of quivering flesh under her fingertips. The scent of tobacco and the taste of tangerines sitting cloyingly like the sweetest of syrups on her tongue as she languidly tasted the inside of his mouth. The intoxicating sensation of weightlessness as she was carried into her room and placed gently upon her hammock, where after the slightest hesitation, she pulled the chef in after her.
A blur of clothing being removed to feel more of his flesh, to taste more of the sea salt, the sweetest of the tangerine syrup and nicotine smoke embedded in his pale skin as he took his time to devour her in turn. Her bare heaving breasts fit perfectly into his hands, kneading and gingerly rolling her nipples to a hardened pebble between his sinfully soft lips as she rubbed herself shamelessly against the thick muscle of his thigh where she came undone almost instantly.
Nami could scarcely recognize her own voice as she let out a breathy moan when Sanji gently slipped between her parted legs. A soft sigh and the press of his hips was all it took before he was finally filling her completely. Sanji let out a grunt into her throat and Nami moaned at the sound and sensation, her thighs trembling against his hips as she got lost in the intoxicating sensation of fullness as she pulsated around his molten flesh buried to the hilt inside of her. His precious chef's hands cradling her face and kissing her like she was the most delectable thing he'd ever tasted.
Resting his forehead against her own after he broke the kiss, Nami's eyes slipped open to stare into his. Sanji's eyes the color of the cloudless sky as he smiled at her like she was the All Blue that he'd searched for his entire life. Calloused thumbs brushing at the tears on her cheeks she hadn't even been aware of shedding and she could do nothing but smile back and kiss him like he was the only air she needed. Lost in his eyes, the feel of the muscles rippling in his ass as she pulled him deeper inside until their hips were pressed flush.
All she knew then was the overwhelming pleasure he eagerly gave her body, meeting all her needs without much thought to his own like the selfless soul he was. The smell of tobacco and sea salt in his hair as he kissed every freckle on her throat, the taste of tangerines heavy on both their tongues as they lost themselves to nothing but each other for the remainder of the night…
Sanji suddenly shifted upon her chest bringing Nami back to the present moment. His face resting against her bare breast and she couldn't help but raise a ginger brow at the small smirk lingering on his lips even in sleep.
As if the chef needed an ego boost…
Confident he was still heavily sleeping, Nami's fingernails were gentle as she traced the half-moon indentations and lines she'd embedded into the canvas of his pale back in the heat of their passion. Akin to a wildfire that had gotten slightly out of control. The thin red lines and indents much like the painstakingly inked lines upon the maps she'd made. A smile itched at the corner of her mouth as her chest grew warm at seeing the physical evidence of their passionate evening embedded on his skin.
Perhaps she'd already found the red dotted line that reached to the very heart of him - one so evident in his warm eyes and countless smiles he'd bestowed upon her since the day they met.
Looking at the marks she'd laid upon him, any guilt she may have felt for causing him any sort of discomfort left upon realizing it was only fair she'd left a few marks considering the smell of cigarettes that would now remain in her bed-sheets for the foreseeable future and the taste of the tangerine tarts lingered on her tongue that she'd become slightly addicted to. Continuing to follow the path she'd made in their passionate tryst, she found herself brushing aside the silky blonde hair on his neck and felt a flush of pride at seeing the multiple dark bruises on pale skin showcasing her many kisses she'd eagerly marked at his throbbing pulse point.
It filled her chest with a greed she'd recognized all too easily in herself.
Mine…

The blonde lying atop her suddenly let out a soft grunt as he joined the land of consciousness. "...Nami?" Sanji's voice was a sudden rasp against her breast. Sweet as honey yet sinful all the same as those eyes the color of the bluest skies peered at her from between adorably sleepy lids.
Nami hummed the affirmative, fingernails gently scratching at his scalp and the man let out a throaty moan, writing and nearly purring into her ministrations like a lazy cat. Sanji let out a sigh before he glanced up at her, only one eye visible through his fringe as he preened under her ministrations.
"Hi," he whispered as if he spoke any louder, it would break the intimate moment between them.
Nami whispered back regardless, "Hey."
Clearing his throat, he spoke a bit louder, "Did you sleep well?" Sanji asked. Suddenly, the flirty chef she'd thought she'd known looked almost timid, which didn't make sense considering he was currently using her breasts as his pillows. For the first time she could ever recall since meeting him, he looked flustered - almost shy… A look she never imagined seeing upon the charismatic, overtly chauvinistic smooth-talking chef. Huh. Perhaps she wasn't the only one who put up too many fronts. Nami stashed that information away for later.
Wanting to break whatever tension he may be feeling, Nami leaned down to kiss his forehead. "Mm-hmm, better than I have in years," she answered truthfully against his skin before burying her nose into the silk of his hair.
The chef was silent for a moment before she felt his arms coil around her in a sweet embrace, "I'm glad to hear that…" he muttered. Plush mouth pressing lazy kisses against where her heart beat a bit too fast against her sternum. Thankfully, he didn't mention it as he busied himself kissing along the constellation of freckles decorating her collarbone.
Nami almost hated how comfortable she felt lying completely naked underneath an equally naked Sanji. Bare skin pressed flush and slightly sticky from their previous night as well as the humidity lingering in the air. Without the influence of alcohol and the high of celebration a distant memory, Nami still didn't feel like putting back up her walls just yet. Merely basking in the dawning light seeping in from the port windows and enjoying how the rays turned Sanji's hair into beautiful strands of glistening gold that made the precious metal look rather dull in comparison. He continued kissing her and her fingers threaded lazily through his hair when it hit her just how utterly relaxing it was to merely be with him.
Nami would rather die than admit it, but feeling so relaxed with him scared her…
A kiss pressed against a particularly sensitive part of her jaw had her breaking out of her reverie. A breathy sigh left her throat of its own accord as she pressed her toes into the flesh of his muscular legs, fingers tightening in his hair. Sanji grunted at the action, his nose brushing along her cheek and the fringe of his hair ticking her forehead completely shattered whatever fears she may have had.
Nami let out a brief chuckle at the contact and couldn't help but admire his pleased smile at inadvertently making her laugh. Her hands reaching for his face to brush his hair completely away and placing it behind his ears. It was so rare to see him without half partially or fully obscured and, loath she was to admit it, she kinda liked it. The two stayed like that for a moment before Sanji flashed her another lazy smile. The cook's eyes flicking across her face as if looking for any hint of doubt or reluctance, and not finding any, he leaned in and ever so gently kissed her lips. A soft chaste kiss so unlike the bruising wet kisses from the previous night.
For some reason, this felt far more intimate than the sex they'd had mere hours ago.
The navigator flinched for only a second. Although slightly bitter from sleep, there was still the taste of tangerines lingering on his lips.
It took a second before Nami subtly relaxed into his kiss. Fingertips leaving his face to wrap around his neck, and upon seeing his touch was eagerly welcomed, Sanji deepened their embrace with a pleased moan. Nami was worried that the orange dawn would change things that the starry night hid beneath darkened skies. After a life filled with so much regret, she wondered how this would be any different. Yet his mouth tasted the same under the stars as it did in the dawning light, and somehow, that made all the difference.
Rather than any sense of regret lingering like a thick putrid smoke, Sanji's weight atop her along with his mere presence was nothing but comforting.
Such a rare feeling she'd felt precious little of in her life.
So much had changed since joining the Strawhat crew. Her present existence she never could have imagined living mere months ago yet couldn't imagine anything different now. It was a freedom she was terrified of yet craved like nothing she'd ever tasted before. A life to do with as she pleased that was no longer under Arlong's debilitating rule and her crushing guilt over her mother's death and destruction and deception of her village. Nami had spent her life since clinging so tightly to those things she'd given up her freedom for much like the trees growing upon the deck.
Maybe that's what directed her to Sanji in the first place.
Much like currents in the ocean, the breeze that guides the sails and weather that holds all the power over any navigator. Perhaps she'd lost some of that very agency upon meeting and learning more about the man Luffy trusted to become their chef. Perhaps it was the smell of tobacco identical to the one Bell-mère used to smoke on their porch, the taste of tangerines on his tongue reminding her of those long summer days in Coco Village. The warmest smile Sanji always gave only her echoing so much of the kindness of her sister as well as those villagers she'd left behind. His boundless blue eyes like those long cloudless summer days and sunny skies that represented the happiest memories of her childhood.
Sanji felt like home in the best of ways.
Gasping for much needed air, Sanji broke their kiss. Gently pressing his forehead to hers as she raked her fingernails over the marks she'd made across his shoulders and back. Blue and brown eyes met as both caught their breath. A pull unlike any she ever felt before as she stared at his face. Their lingering kisses and growing passions only intensifying as her hips writhed upon feeling him hardening against her thigh, the sudden shyness of him echoing in his pale cheeks painted with a pretty pink blush. Blue eyes so open and eager to please and seeing how easily this handsome man opened up to them all. Left his entire life at Baratie behind to chase their dreams together on the journey that lay ahead.
Yet as much as he gave, his heart bared completely was to her alone. And like the greatest of treasures, she swore to keep it safe from harm - even from a thief like herself.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed with feelings she really didn't want to unpack right now, Nami flashed Sanji a gentle smile of her own. Certain the awed expression on his face was the same one she was wearing amidst her better judgement. Sanji bestowed on her the gift of another brilliant white smile before he eagerly dove back in for another kiss. This time as he settled between the cradle of her thighs and when he finally melded himself into her body - as well as her heart - Nami readily embraced it.

‘Violet pulls back and smiles a little wryly. This close, even in the dim lighting, Arkady can see the way her eyes crinkle, the affectionate way her mouth quirks. “What happened to talking?”
Arkady huffs, frustrated. “I show better than I tell,” she grumbles.
Violet laughs and offers her another kiss. “Is that a line?”
“Do you want it to be?”’
