To save his ego he had a private chat with Sophie and he was very dramatic about it. He just wants to be her special boi even if he doesn't want to admit it.

What really happened..well...let's just say that there was a tiny misunderstanding and the secret admirer was just a normal guy who just wanted to thank Sophie for giving advice. But alas it was too late and the rumors spread like wildfire. Marshal Liu informed Sun Wukong that there might be a possibility that Sophie has a secret admirer according to the rumors around the Flower Fruit Mountain (especially in the palace).

I am once again thinking about JTTW retelling potentials people have brought up in terms of Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing knowing Sun Wukong when they were all up in heaven, but specifically through the lens of a Monkey King characterization where he was a canny and ruthless warlord.

Like. Imagine you're a high ranking general in heaven, and one day this 4-foot-something monkey yaoguai starts scampering all over the place being friendly with everyone he runs across. And okay, you're at first kind of concerned by the fact that there's a literal yaoguai in heaven, especially when you hear about some of his exploits on Earth and against some of your fellow immortals. But the Jade Emperor gave the monkey his position, and he's not technically doing anything bad, just completely ignoring protocol and referring to everyone as his friends and brothers. Maybe you find it kind of annoying. Maybe it's kind of charming. But whatever he did before he's a silly monkey now that you don't even see that much.

And then one day all of heaven is in an uproar because it turns out this monkey not only stole tons of immortality granting peaches, but also golden elixir specifically intended for the Jade Emperor. So that's a bridge too far, and obviously means that he needs to surrender to heaven for punishment immediately or else his entire clan will be executed. But he and all his yao allies fight back. More and more and more deities have to be called in to try and subdue this one monkey. And when he is finally captured, it turns out nothing heaven strikes him with can kill him. So then he's there tied up and helpless, but still jeering at all the assembled deities because they have nothing stronger than him.

And then Laozi proposes that he be melted down. The monkey is struggling and crying for this to not happen, but maybe you see what you think is some discomfiting gleam in his eyes, something that indicates he wanted this to happen. But you're not sure, so you say nothing...

And it turns out the monkey's time in the furnace did nothing but refine him into an even stronger immortal than before. And as soon as he's freed he starts smashing a bloody swath through heaven with no one able to halt him until he's practically tearing at the Jade Emperor's throne. Even with twenty-five thunder deities and a host of other immortals trying their best, no one's able to knock him down, and he's laughing and screaming about how no one can stop him, that he won't stop until he's toppled the Jade Emperor and taken heaven's throne for himself, and oh, it seems like there's a chance he might be able to force his way into that position...

So some 500 years later you're living in disgrace and traveling with this same monkey. He's subdued and snarky, and clearly much weaker than he had been before. But still, he's able to get you and your companions out of one jam after another. There's a lot of tension in the group, but it's softening over time. And you start seeing the monkey in a new light. You know how much he loves his "little ones" and wants to go back to his Earthly home. You've seen how capable he is of being gentle with children. And yet...

You've also been witness to the casualness with which the monkey takes human and yaoguai life. The plans he's formed to inflict massive amount of pain on his opponents to make them obey. They way he spies on those who present obstacles to your shared journey so that he knows exactly how they might best be dealt with swiftly and often brutally.

And at some point, you realize that he didn't havoc through heaven, he never does anything in a blind rage.

That even back then he had had plenty of time to consider what exactly he was going to do when he got out of that furnace. He chose not to flee Heaven as soon as he was out, but to kill as many as he could on the way to challenge the Jade Emperor himself.

And now you're on a journey together, which very well could end with this monkey becoming a buddha.

Not really an ask, I just wanted to say I love your Monkey Queen comic! And I’m guessing Monkey Queen is just as yandere as her male counterpart.

Absolutely. In the case of yandere Monkey Queen she would be just as obsessed and in love with her Peaches as her male counterpart. Both Sun Wukongs treat their mate very similarly to one another, but there are some key differences between the two.

-First off, MQ (Monkey Queen) is a bit more empathetic to her mate’s distress and understands that it probably wasn’t ideal getting yoinked out of their own lives and into the lap of the realm’s most powerful demon and ruler. Nonetheless, MQ is almost cold in the way she handles her lover’s cries with her words being absolute and straightforward as they cling to her legs begging to be returned home. In MQ’s eyes, there’s no reason to delude or reason with her broken-hearted mate thinking it better to be honest with them to help them come to terms of their very permanent situation which is in contrast to MK (Monkey King), who hates to deal with the tears and instead likes to distract, threaten, ignore his lover when they start getting emotional.

(Both do, however, in the dark of the night or in the privacy of their room, hold their mate close and tight, hands caressing and voices soft as they coo and chirp consolingly as Peaches sobs. Both MQ and MK are affected a lot more than they would like to admit by their mate’s pain.)

-Another difference between the two, is MQ is not as aggressive as her male counterpart. Now don’t get me wrong, MQ is still incredibly aggressive… but with the lack of testosterone coursing through her body she doesn’t feel the need to compete so intensely with rivals. She takes a little more time to think about the situation at hand before jumping to action.

I mean, why fight for something that’s already yours?

So MQ will stand there, smile smug and eyes vicious, as a rival attempts to threaten/flirt with her (what demon lord wouldn’t want The Great and Mighty Monkey Queen as their wife?), not attacking until the fight has been initiated or until she has been horribly disrespected. Even then, the queen likes to play with her prey before going straight for the kill, being known to bully and taunt her competitor for a while before ending the fight, not unlike MK. But be warned, as soon as her human mate is made mentioned of, MQ will fly into a terrifying and bloody rage. Easily decimating the blathering idiot that dared approach her and made jest of her sweet, little Peaches.

After such a… event, MQ will return home, covered in blood and shaking with unburnt energy hungrily searching out Peaches before spending the night exhausting her remaining adrenaline on her confused unwilling mate, chanting incoherent rage-filled whispers against their neck and stomach nearly the entire time. The words are never meant for Peaches, but it frightens them nonetheless because they feel the anger oozing from the deep claw marks on their hips and the bruising bites littering their neck and shoulders the next morning, despite all of MQ’s attempts to tenderly nurture them afterwards.

- One of the last and few differences, is that MQ is a lot more paranoid about letting Peaches be alone than MK. Not that MQ is concerned about Peaches escaping (because if anything that’s just a fun game of Cat and Mouse), she is more concerned about the demons/celestial beings that would come to the mountain in search of leverage, treasure, or even worse… entertainment. She has had a few nightmares while away on conquests that showed her mate being taken or attacked by such beings, which usually leads to her blasting off on her nimbus to check in on Peaches before returning that same night.

Most of these dreams depict her once close friend and sister, Macaque, stealing Peaches away. MQ can’t help the burning anger that overtakes her after these dreams, nor can she chase away the jealousy sadness she feels at knowing that her mate would prefer her sister over her… that her mate would be happy never seeing MQ ever again… It’s in these moments that MQ has the most determination to never lose her Peaches. Not to anyone or anything.

I've read your Macaque x GN reader with a baby (which is cute, btw), but I was wondering if you could do one with Sun Wukong as well? Maybe in this one, while little baby is watching their daddy and MK train and witnessing Sun do an impressive move, the baby excitedly calls out Dada to him. Cue the proud, teary-eyed papa flinging them high in the air (but not too high), happy that he is their first word, while GN reader watches on, also proud of their little one

For quite a while, parenting wasn't something Wukong was sure he was going to do. His strongest memories of interactions with kids were the likes of Nezha and Red Boy. Both of which were mainly him fighting them violently, which did not give a good start to potential parenting. MK was a much better example of his capabilities, even if the kid was more like a little brother. Still, it wasn't perfect, but he had slowly warmed up to the idea as the years went by.

You, however, had changed a lot of that. With you by his side, he was able to feel comfort and reassurance that he had been missing. Learning to communicate with you strengthened his confidence, and after a good long while, you both agreed to have your little cub. Wukong stuck to the ideal immediately, imprinting as a father onto the cub the second they were born. He may not be perfect (he was used to the FFM cubs, which were more durable and a lot closer to keeping up with him), but several hours of watching you tend to the cub with wide and damp eyes helped him greatly.

Taking the cub along for training with MK didn't initially seem like a good idea. The training, of course, usually didn't get too bad, but there was sufficient flinging and big heroic tricks that made the area of the dojo dedicated to it one to tread with caution. So, to keep out of harm's way, you were given a special spot a few feet from where the training would actually take place, fit with you own special chair and a side mini table to rest your belongings. You were gently bouncing the little cub in your lap, the baby awake and alert. They looked around with their wide and curious eyes, taking in all the colors and new shapes the dojo provided. The gentle feeling of warm sun rays was also good for them. You had a steady hand around the cub, balancing and watching them closely.

Your eyes occasionally flicked to the scuffle ahead, seeing the two lads train tirelessly as always. You smiled, hearing your cub coo in their direction. You sat them on your lap, sitting up straighter. "I know you can't see it very well, but that gold blurr right there is your baba" you explained. The cub babbled softly, and you chuckled as you gently pet their fuzzy little head. "He's always a busy monkey. But he's training the next hero, you know" you explained. You were aware this was mostly you talking to the air, but your cub had their little eyes latched onto the training session. So you pretended they were old enough to understand, if only for a little humor. "He does this to protect you, little sprout. To protect all the people of the city. He's a very strong hero"

The cub had their fist in their mouth, gumming at it absentmindedly. You gently pulled it out for them, rubbing the itty bitty paw with a cleaning rag you had prepped. As you did so, the cub stared steadily ahead. Wukong pushed off of an attempted staff swing from MK, doing a backflip in the air before landing on his prehensile tail. He chuckled as MK stumbled back, leaning on his knees with wheezing pants. "Good job, bud! Getting a liiittle faster!" He beamed proudly. "It doesn't feel like it" MK complained with an irritated pout. Wukong chuckled, stretching his arms and rolling his shoulders before getting into a battle stance again. "That means it's working! If this was easy, it wouldn't be good training". MK groaned, spinning the staff around. After a quick chug from a nearby water bottle (one of your ideas), he shook his head before crouching as well.

Before either could charge, Wukong's ears picked up on a very small and struggled out, "Dada!". His head whipped around in your direction, seeing you looking down at your cub surprised. Wukong narrowly missed an attempted hit by MK by immediately zipping to your side, leaving the successor to fumble. "Did they-?" Wukong asked, and you nodded "They did, I swear! Just now". Wukong kneeled down, level with his cub "Can you say it again, little peach? Please? For dad?". The baby giggled, leaning forwards and putting a tiny paw on his nose and chirping out a "Dada!"

Wukong's face lit up like the sun, scooping the cub from your lap in a swift motion. He tossed them up in the air, but kept in mind his strength, catching them immediately "Yes!! Dada, that's right! Oh, good job, little peach! That's so perfect" he said, voice full of vibrant joy "Can you say 'baba'?". "Abbppt.. bb... daba!" The cub babbled. Wukong tucked them into his chest, nuzzling his cheek into the top of their head "Good enough! Oh, you're so smart already! You're gonna be the next Great Sage, huh?" He cooed. You stepped up, a hand on his shoulder as you pet the cub's chubby left cheek "Such a smart little blossom" you said gently, chuckling as you noticed a tear pricking Wukong's eye. He gave the cub a kiss on their head, before kissing your cheek "They're perfect, sunshine" he said, before adding in a teasing tone, "Told ya I'd be who they said first". You gave him a playful light nudge, heart full of pride as you looked at your grinning cub.

"Uh.. Monkey King?" MK asked nervously "Should I... go, or-?"

Crepe is 100% my own creation, but Wukong is basically what I thought a child version of @skittlescripts Ittw!Sun Wukong would look like. For Liu'er I was inspired by all the different interpretations of the "Six eared Macaque" and wanted to try making my own version

something self indulgent while i struggle to decide what to write

an isekai reader who knows nothing about the world they're sent too. their death was nothing violent, merely an accident (probably choked on a dumpling during your occasional binge watching spree).

you wake up with some google translate voice that called itself a 'system' - it acts as a video game manual, guiding you on what to do and how to say. you even have DIALOGUE options, that's how crazy it is, and how ironic it is they persist on you helping the destined one on his search for sun wukong.

you think, "oh, maybe it isn't so bad-" and the gentle one doesn't mind your presence. you're not so bad, and your chattiness makes up for his silence. eventually you become brazen enough to even touch him, patching up wounds or simply playing with his fur in awe at it's softness.

and for a time, it's fine, just your average video game adventure.

until you're given an option to...seduce the enemy?

this happened by a chanced encounter with some yaoguai that stood in your way. the destined one was busy and when it came to combat, you were much better with long range. ignoring your already shit stats- you didn't experience 'death' in this video game just yet but you had no intention of doing so if it was as painful as the system described.

“would player 2 prefer a second option?”

of course, duh, you're practically spamming the second option, pleading for an alternate ending outside of being beat up by a fucking whatchamacallit yaoguai-

“dialogue: you have such a cute face my dear. don't spoil it with that frown.”

the yaoguai stares at you, and you wonder what death would feel like. it must be better than literal cringe, but somehow the yaoguai falls for it? the system repeats it's congrats, awarding you tons of points you had no idea even existed.

when the destined one returns, you don't have the heart to tell him the how the yaoguai had been dealt with. but hey, at least you've got more materials to keep up your journey, right? so maybe it's not a bad thing....

until you have to seduce your fellow companion.
