#vinylseptembertoremember day 26 // record that reminds me of meeting a band: Megadeth - Rust In Peace Now this is a great, great metal album. My favourite metal album and imo, thrash metal’s shining moment. When they played here in 2012, the organisers held a meet and greet and invited random ticket holders. My brother’s friend was selected but couldn’t make it, so my brother took his place instead. Me, wanting to try my luck, brought some of my Megadeth stuff along and headed backstage to wait in line with the other selected few. When it came time for the organisers to verify the identity of the meet and greet goers, it was already dark. Keep in mind that the venue was at an outdoor park... A fort to be specific (one of the British headquarters during WW2). So my brother and I were at the back of the queue and when the guy checking was approaching us on the right of the queue, I just sauntered forward down the left as if there was nothing wrong at all, and I got to meet Dave and gang, and got this signed. #vinylseptembertoremember day 13 // record that reminds me of that one night: Iron Maiden - Somewhere In Time For someone in Singapore, it is always a big deal to see bands I love. I was lucky enough to see Iron Maiden play on their The Book Of Souls tour at Rockavaria 2016 along with Slayer, Anthrax and Ghost! Imagine how delighted I was! On that particular night, Sabaton was playing right before Maiden, and it started pouring when they were playing... like really pouring. I knew I was going to be soaked to the bone, but I didn’t give a shit because I’d travelled all the way there anyway and I wanted to have a good view. So I stayed on in front and it continued raining through Maiden’s set. They closed the night with Wasted Years and I can still remember my shoes, socks and underwear just soaked while watching them play. It was a great night indeed. Also, I got this particular LP while I was travelling in Cardiff three years ago, from the amazing Kellys Records. When opening it up, a small piece of paper dropped on the floor. I picked it up and found a receipt (swipe to second photo) that dates all the way back to 1986!!
