Pressure Wash Your Home - Techniques
Power washing or pressure washing may be the only practical method to remove sludge, and mold out of your house. To obtain the most from a splash of paint you will need to pressure wash your home too. This provides the paint a great clean surface to stick to. Even though the term is pressure wash you absolutely not use much pressure with regards to your homes siding. Only low pressure can be used, around 300 psi. Some contractors are unaware of this and can use ruthless which is very harmful because it likely may cause damage. Prior to hiring a specialist this ought to be the first question for them.
Just about all siding material can usually benefit from pressure washing. Sturdy plank, brick, vinyl siding and aluminum will all take advantage of a great cleaning every so often. Caution ought to be applied when cleaning soft materials like wood but when low pressure techniques are utilized then little damage can be done. Cleaners will have to be applied in line with the kind of material your exterior consists of. For many materials a mixture of bleach and house cleaner will have the desired effect. For wood you will have to make use of a special cleaner which will brighten the wood and never strip the color. All of the necessary cleaning materials are available at the local home improvement store.
For any do-it-yourself pressure Atlanta commerical pressure washing job, you may get a unit from the rental equipment store. The price is about $50 each day. There is no need to obtain a durable unit because you will be utilizing low pressure to wash the home. One with as many as 1500 psi is all that's necessary. Even though the unit can sustain 1500 psi you will need a home wash tip which will lessen the pressure. This is achieved using a tip having a bigger opening which lowers pressure and enables more volume to circulate with the hole.
Power washers have a 'down stream' function which sucks in the soap and mixes it using the water because it flows with the unit. Generally you'll fill a 5 gallon bucket using the necessary detergent or bleach along with a small hose connected to the unit is defined in to the bucket. When the water starts to flow with the system, suction develops and draws the cleaning product up and sprays it using the water in a 1-5 to at least one-7 ratio.
If using bleach to wash mold spores one hundred Percent bleach option would be put into the bucket. For other cleaners you will have to consult the instructions. Make sure to remove everything from throughout the house that could be broken through the bleach. A fast rinse from the flowers and shrubs is frequently all that is required to insure no plants suffer.
The easiest method to really clean your property is to begin in a corner. Gradually come across to another finish of the home. Along the way spray the stream water lower at the end of the home and come to the eves from the roof. Always work in the bottom up, this can lessen the opportunity for streaks to look. Make sure to saturate every inch from the side you're focusing on.

Here’s How to Save on Home Remodeling in Atlanta
It’s easy to save on remodeling costs in Atlanta when you know a few tricks
You love your home, and you love living in Atlanta. But there may be some parts of your home that you don’t love. Or maybe you just bought a new home, and you know you want to update it to suit you. We see renovation projects in Atlanta at a wide range of costs. Often, homeowners want to maximize their scope on a minimal budget. Luckily, there are a handful of tricks that can help you save on remodeling in Atlanta.
Sweeten matches home renovation projects with vetted general contractors, offering advice, support, and up to $50,000 in renovation financial protection—for free.
Remodel smaller and smarter
For years, one of the draws of living in Atlanta was that you could own a large house for the same—or less than—what you would pay in northern cities. Atlanta ranks number two in the United States in home sizes. In fact, Atlanta’s average home size is just under 2,000 square feet. But sprawl has its price, which means large homes and large remodels come with higher costs.
Find ways to remodel that don’t involve creating a new foundation or building upward. If you can, stay within the existing footprint of the house. Explore rooms that are no longer used for their intended purpose and convert them. Tour the house with your contractor and find walls that you can open to expand two rooms into one large room.
Look into Atlanta’s green remodeling incentives
Green or eco-friendly remodeling helps the environment and can certainly help you save on remodeling in Atlanta.
Many homeowners may not realize that they can take advantage of a host of green remodeling incentives. These incentives can reduce the cost of remodeling. Some of the incentives include tax credits, loan programs, tax exemptions, and rebates.
Speak to your contractor about your interest in green remodeling. You may also want to have an energy audit done before remodeling begins.
Tailor the HVAC to Atlanta’s weather
Heating and cooling are different in Atlanta than in other cities. Systems that work in Chicago, Los Angeles, or New York aren’t always applicable in Atlanta.
In a city with fewer than 50 days per year below freezing, Atlanta homes don’t need the kind of robust furnaces or heat pumps found in other areas of the country. And maxing out your A/C isn’t always the answer, either! Your A/C should be tailored specifically to Atlanta’s weather and to your own house. Also, it’s smart to explore passive cooling methods with your contractor.
Make use of Georgia’s solar power and natural light
Atlanta is one of the sunniest cities in the United States, with at least 60% of the days per year being sunny. Use this to your advantage! Concentrate on improving windows on the south side of your house. Rooms that have plenty of large windows rely less on artificial light. This saves money on electricians’ costs and on the cost of extensive artificial lighting.
At the same time, make sure that these windows have low-e solar coating. Add draperies to block sun during the brightest part of the day.
Remodel with mold in mind
Atlanta can get humid—extremely humid. Humidity that reaches 55% or more can lead to mold growth. Poorly vented crawlspaces, basements, and rooms are susceptible to mold growth. Not all mold is dangerous. However, some mold can be a lung irritant and can affect those with respiratory ailments.
Good remodeling work can be quickly undone by mold. To avoid mold growth, talk to your contractor about mold-inhibiting wall and ceiling systems, along with venting systems.
Refurbish, don’t replace
The days of tearing out everything and replacing it wholesale are long gone. Now, there is a smarter approach to remodeling that incorporates fixing items, not throwing them out.
For example, you may decide to reface, rather than replace, your kitchen cabinets. Refurbishing cabinets, tubs, showers, floors, walls, and more keep these items out of the landfill and make your Atlanta remodel more affordable.
Considering new doors for your kitchen cabinets? Get the lowdown on different cabinet door styles.
DIY projects in an Atlanta remodel
Not all of the work of your home remodel project needs to be done by the contractor’s workers. You can do a few things yourself in advance, or during downtimes. Sweat equity helps you save on remodel costs and make it all more affordable. Always coordinate in advance with your contractor if you plan to do DIY work. (Here’s what you can DIY and what should be left to the pros!)
Use durable imitation materials
You might really want that exotic hardwood flooring, but the price of it isn’t within your budget. Look for wood-look ceramic tile planks that look just like mahogany or other overseas hardwoods. Laminate and vinyl plank also look remarkably like real wood. Quartz and laminate countertops reliably imitate expensive marbles and granites.
Wherever there is an expensive material, there is likely a far less expensive imitation material that you can use in your remodel.
Keep the plumbing in place
One rule of thumb for keeping bathroom and kitchen remodeling affordable: avoid moving the plumbing, if possible.
Whenever you move plumbing around, remodel costs rise. This doesn’t mean that you cannot change your shower, bathtub, or sink. You can replace or refurbish these items while keeping the core plumbing system where it is.
Shop around for the best contractor
Finding the best contractor for a remodeling project in Atlanta isn’t about finding the cheapest person. Instead, it’s about finding a person who can best bring your vision to light. Concentrate on finding a contractor who best matches your needs. You’ll also want to find a contractor who you work with well, and who you communicate well with.
Get on the general contractor’s schedule—now
When you sign with a contractor for a home remodeling project, the contractor places you on their calendar. Being in the early queue means getting ahead of other clients, especially when there is overall high demand for home remodeling, labor, and materials.
Ask your expert for remodeling advice
One of the upsides of hiring a general contractor is that you can take advantage of their knowledge and expertise. Feel free to ask for their advice…that’s why you hired them! Contractors can have years or decades of experience in construction and the right one will help you match your scope to your budget.

via Bankruptcy,
Home flooring is a simple and classic way to sell your home for more money on the market today. Home flooring takes a beating every single day whilst entrusted with a monumental task: determining the design tone for your whole household. The picture-perfect pages of your Pottery Barn Pinterest board don’t reflect the family pet shedding settled deep into your living-room carpet fibers or the typical wear-and-tear of your wood floorings.
You can bet, though, that prospective buyers who visit your home for showings have those magazine images in mind. They not only would like floors in excellent condition, however materials that go with the purpose of every room and appear like a million bucks.
” Flooring, in my point of view, is usually an affordable expense, yet you get a much higher yield on your financial investment,” suggested Leighann Russell, a real estate professional in the Atlanta area who’s got 329 transactions under her belt to date.
Our experts undertook all the ROI investigation around several styles of floorings and identified what’s trending (spoiler: hard wood’s still king), and also spoke to an interior designer with 30 years of expertise who has her own line of hard wood flooring.
So the short answer to “does new flooring increase home value?” is yes– if you’re wise about your selections. The right upgrades also make your home sell more quickly on the market. Follow these 5 expert strategies to get the most out of this practical property financial investment.
1. Pick Wood Flooring to Sell Your Home For More Money
Sometimes you simply cannot beat a classic. And even when it relates to houses and the kind of floor purchasers really like, hardwood floorings have definitely stood the test of time.
Through the 18th century, wood made floors progressed from bare lumber, to check or geometric decorated planks to go well with the ornate decor of the times. In the late 1800s, the glossed wood floorings so prominent in American houses today began being manufactured in mass. These days, any prospective buyer who walks into a home will probably gush over the stunning hardwood floorings if your house can provide it.
54% of house prospective buyers want to spend more for wooden floorings when acquiring a home– up to $2,080 more, according to data coming from the National Association of Realtors.
And revealing that wood floorings aren’t solely preferred among luxury home prospective buyers, a 2017 survey from the National Association of Home Builders found that 87% percent of buyers in the $100,000 to $149,999 price range desire wood floor.
Both timeless and extremely versatile, hardwood is even more durable over the long haul than carpet and rugs. Both of which have to be replaced about every decade. Re-coating wooden floors every three to 5 years or refinishing them every Eight to ten years can make them last for the long haul.
What should you project to invest in the total plan that is hardwood flooring?
Installing about 300 square feet of pre-finished hardwood floor sells at approximately $2,700 to $3,800 nationwide, also including building materials and labor costs. (By means of comparison, adding the equivalent amount of carpets costs a nationwide average of approximately $1,300 to $1,800.).
Rates fluctuate by location and contractor, of course. The very best method to find out just how much the job would cost you is to assemble a handful of estimates from nearby experts.
However, to get a range for your area, Porch (which possesses data on over half a million projects) offers this Hardwood Floor Install Cost Calculator that gives you a rate range personalized to your ZIP code.
How Do The Various Types of Wood Differ in Costs?
Even within hardwood floors, there are various cuts, degrees of thickness, and lumber varieties that impact cost:
Stained Red Oak: Among the most common wood-strip flooring all over the country, stained red oak costs around $3.30 per square foot.
Black Cherry: Black Cherry, which has an all-natural cinnamon pigmentation that deepens with age, costs about $4.90 per square foot.
Rusty-Hued Heart Pine: Sought-after in Southern households considering that frontier times, rusty-hued heart pine falls in between at about $4 per square foot.
White Ash: Light in color but sturdier, white ash costs around $5.60 per square foot.
2. You Can Do Wood– And Floors That Resemble The Appearance– On A Budget
If you like the look of wood however need to improve your floor on a budget, you’ve got various options at your disposal. Carpets and vivid throw rugs are still well-liked, and environment-friendly and organic materials and cutting-edge styles mean that homeowners have more flooring options than ever.
Vinyl: Versatile however not as sturdy Long-inexpensive sheet vinyl floor can be found in a range of contemporary designs like artificial hexagon marble mosaic tile, porcelain, and even stained and distressed reclaimed wood. Despite the fact that it will not improve your house’s value as well as the true wood floor since it’s not as long-lasting. Sheets of vinyl flooring merely cost from $0.75 to $4 per square foot, plus setup, and can last from 10-20 years. Vinyl planks and tiles cost around $5 per square foot, however, homeowners generally can install those themselves.
Linoleum for the Long Haul Linoleum is another long-wearing but extremely versatile alternative, running about $4 to $6 per square foot for sheets and tiles, and about $7 to $9 for click-together pieces, plus installation. It’s created from renewable building materials, recyclable, and naturally antistatic as well as antimicrobial, though not water-proof. It additionally requires resealing almost every five years or so. Installing about 300 square feet sells for approximately about $1,100 to $1,400 nationally.
Pick Wood With Character Hardwood floor additionally is available in a variety of “grades” which describes the particular qualities of the product. Lumber is naturally occurring and bound to have some character! Some lumber backyards promote affordable oak flooring, with more variation in shade, knots, and streaks. You can get “rustic” or “utility” grade wood with more blemishes and imperfections– or some might say character– for a discount. In the right place, sheets of 2 × 4-foot plywood that are stained and sealed as flooring planks can produce a rustic look for a fraction of the price tag, about $0.70 per square foot.
Grab A Paintbrush For A Quick Remodeling Other affordable options for new flooring include carpet tiles, which cost under $2 per square foot in a range of tones and styles; and painting the floor. Yes, paint can cover wood, cement, tile, or linoleum flooring that have actually seen much better days, and there are specialized items that make the preparation and surface stunning. Nationwide, the typical cost of painting 300 square feet of flooring varieties from about $400 to $900. Get motivated by these 22 painted floor designs from Home Flooring Pros, which offers in-depth customer guides on home floor covering.
3. Select Floors That Make Sense For The Space’s Daily Traffic
Looks matter when it pertains to flooring, however so does standard daily use.
Kitchen areas and entryways need a material that can handle heavy foot traffic, one reason that ceramic tile is a frequent choice here– and why a more difficult wood such as oak or hickory holds up well here, too.
However, solid wood floor covering is a poor option for a basement, where high humidity can warp the wood. (A crafted wood flooring is more stable).
Because of humidity and water, a strong wood floor likewise is a bad choice for bathrooms. (Check out this guide from the National Wood Flooring Association for more ideas about selecting types of wood flooring and finishes.)
The floor covering’s foundation likewise will influence your spending plan and flooring option. For example, if you rip out carpeting to find concrete or tile underneath, your brand-new floor covering requires to be a click-together drifting choice or floor covering that can be glued down– nothing that needs nails.
4. Select Colors With Broad Appeal That Fit Your Home’s Design
Russell stated she’s seen that a lot of buyers tend to desire “tile in the bathrooms; hardwoods in the main” part of your home– but that does not mean you’re limited to the shade of brown.
For wood flooring, some color combinations and textures expected to be popular in 2019 are neutrals stemmed from nature, stated Emily Morrow Finkell, a Georgia interior designer with 30 years of experience who sells wood flooring through the Emily Morrow Home Collection.
These consist of:
Dark charcoal black that results in a matte, silky appearance.
Rich brown, particularly in walnut woods.
Bermuda stone gray, a go-to backdrop that bridges other design and color styles quickly.
Off-white similar to French limestone.
Matte off-white is similar to gesso and plaster.
Interior design junkies: watch on these patterns. And for sellers, discover something that’s in style but also fits with your house and interest a vast array of purchasers.
Russell added that purchasers like floor covering with gray and brown tones because of the maintenance element. “People aren’t going as dark since it shows everything,” she said.
5. Be Aware Of The Overall Flow In Between Living Spaces
If you do pick to change your floors to improve your home’s value, make certain to watch on the big picture– how well the floor covering flows from room to room. Purchasers do not like floors that create a patchwork of colors and finishes.
A professional flooring business will take a look at your home’s floor plan to examine that each shift between rooms looks right– which with wood, for instance, might involve sanding and refinishing surfaces so that they’re level and the color matches well.
“You absolutely don’t want to walk into the foyer that’s a cherry color, and then your dining room and your living room off to the left and the right are 3 shades lighter,” Russell stated. “You want to match it to what you already have as good as you can so that you get that flow sensation when the buyer first strolls in the door.”
Purchase Flooring as The ‘Canvas’ Of The Home
As Morrow Finkell explains on her site: “Home interior design begins with the floor. The flooring is your blank canvas and it determines every design decision you’ll make once it’s down.”.
Not every home buyer is a design aficionado. Regardless, your floors are among the first things they’ll discuss when they stroll into your home due to the fact that it sets the whole tone. Pick your products based upon toughness and style, and it will be a financial investment you won’t be sorry for.
Long-inexpensive sheet vinyl floor covering comes in a variety of modern styles like faux hexagon marble mosaic tile, porcelain, and even stained and distressed reclaimed wood. It will not improve your home’s value as well as real wood floor covering since it’s not as long-lasting, sheets of vinyl floor covering just cost from $0.75 to $4 per square foot, plus installation, and can last from 10-20 years.
Hardwood flooring likewise comes in different “grades” which refers to the particular qualities of the material. Other economical options for brand-new flooring include carpet tiles, which cost under $2 per square foot in a range of shades and styles; and painting the flooring. Get motivated by these 22 painted floor designs from Home Flooring Pros, which provides thorough consumer guides on home floor covering.

Home Depot roars back in the second quarter

Home Depot roars back in the second quarter
ATLANTA/ August 15, 2018 (STL.News)— Home Depot handily beat expectations during the second quarter, bouncing back from a slow start to the year when terrible weather cooled construction projects. The world’s biggest home improvement retailer boosted its full-year profit and revenue forecasts Tuesday.
Higher mortgage rates combined with steadily rising real estate prices have dampened home sales this summer despite the robust economy and job market, but Americans continue to plow money into the places where they live.
The Atlanta company’s second-quarter profit hit $3.51 billion, or $3.05 per share. That a much bigger per-share profit than the $2.84 that Wall Street was looking for, according to analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research.
Revenue rose to $30.46 billion, from $28.11 billion, also topping projections of $29.98 billion on Wall Street.
Sales at stores open at least a year, a key indicator of a retailer’s performance, surged 8 percent, and 8.1 percent in the U.S.
Home Depot said that big ticket sales — now being defined as transactions over $1,000 — represent about 20 percent of the chain’s U.S. sales. It had previously defined big ticket sales as transactions over $900.
In the second quarter, transactions over $1,000 were up 10.6 percent compared to the second quarter of fiscal 2017. A few drivers behind the increase in big ticket purchases were vinyl plank flooring appliances and strength with pro customers.
Home Depot suffered a rare subpar performance when it reported first-quarter earnings in May. A cold spring chilled sales of fertilizer, live plants and gardening goods. It’s been a different story for the three-month period that ended July 29, with temperatures heating up along with the job market.
The weather and falling unemployment, near a five-decade low, has led to increased home-improvement spending.
Home Depot now foresees 2018 earnings-per-share growth of about 29.2 percent, from last year’s $9.42 per share. The company expects revenue to rise about 7 percent, with same-store sales to increase about 5.3 percent.
The Home Depot Inc. last predicted 2018 earnings-per-share growth of about 28 percent, an increase in revenue of about 6.7 percent, and same-store sales growth of about 5 percent.

Blog Posts 1-7
Post 1: The Home Depot
I chose to have my term project about The Home Depot because I love The Home Depot. I enjoy working on home projects and I always find that my imagination goes wild like wild fire when I step into their stores. I learn something new on every new project I tackle, knowledge is endless. I look forward to learning marketing this semester, as representing your company is an important aspect of business.
I believe The Home Depot has a very successful marketing plan and set of ideas..
They know that homeowners are a huge market sector and the exchange is not only profitable for them, but also beneficial for the homeowner. Homeowners go to The Home Depot to get input from knowledgeable employees. The Home Depot offers all the four P’s, also known as the marketing mix. That is how they are able to profit so greatly.
Post 2: The Home Depot
The Home Depot offers products and services. They are prideful of their customer excellence and operational excellence they deliver. They range from being able to purchase a box a nails. All the way to providing installment services, such as flooring and tile. The current market share is $194.48 per share.( https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/HD/) The company uses market penetration strategy by implementing more advertisement. The company also used product development strategy. One example, is that they won the 2017 Innovation Award with their LifeProof Vinyl Plank Flooring. (http://ir.homedepot.com/news-releases/2017/10-04-2017-130239604).
The Home Depot’s annual sales/revenue last year was 94.6 billion. See chart below to compare last years and the year of 2014. (https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/hd/financials).
The company has nearly 400,000 employees and the main corporate office is located in Atlanta, GA. The Home Depot does not have an official mission statement but their values “Our culture & success are built on an unwavering loyalty to eight guiding principles: building strong relationships, doing the right thing, respect for all people, taking care of our people, entrepreneurial spirit, creating shareholder value, excellent customer service, and giving back. (https://corporate.homedepot.com/about)
Post 3 (Ch. 4): The Home Depot The Home Depot’s key differentiator is that its strategic goals are to offer high quality service and to provide a wide variety of products to ensure they can satisfy their customers. They offer numerous convenient locations. Their price is competitive to their competitors. They have a set of business ethics, which I believe many consumers are appreciative of. One example is that they have policies in place, where if a product does not work or is faulty, you may exchange it or get a refund within 90 days. (https://www.homedepot.com/Customer_Support_Answers) While some companies use deceptive advertising to gain their sales, The Home Depot does not as they have marketing ethics.
Another reason I believe consumers choose to shop at these stores vs their competitors is that they are corporately socially responsible (CSR). Ie. “[The Home Depot] conducts thousands of supplier audits around the world each year to ensure our suppliers are following our Social & Environmental Responsibility (SER) Standards which we mandate in the factories where our products are manufactured.” (https://corporate.homedepot.com/responsibility/products). I believe these type of actions by company speaks volumes. Consumers do keep this in mind when choosing who to buy from. This is very impactful in regards to a company actually caring about the induvials who purchase from them.(only 4 terms in this chapter)
Post 4 (Ch. 5): The Home Depot
Strengths
Weaknesses
Convenient Locations
Maintain satisfied customers, as we can not please everyone.
Opportunities
Threats
Are able to expand globally.
Price increases from their manufacturers.
Microenvironmental factors
· “As Home Depot expands in Mexico and Canada, it's keeping an eye on Europe and Asia for future international opportunities” https://www.floordaily.net/flooring-news/home-depot-looking-at-europe-asia. Expanding the brand can result in larger marginal profits.
· “By 2005, however, customer satisfaction at the Home Depot fell to 67, becoming the worst performing retailer on the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) that year.ii As Claus Fornell aptly stated: “Home Depot had devalued its most critical asset: the health of customer relationships.” (http://www.babson.edu/executive-education/non-public/Pages/customer-experience-home-depot.aspx) Customers are the biggest part of what makes a company successful. Target key reasons why customers are dissatisfied and make a plan to better satisfy customers if possible. As we have different age groups (ie. Generation Z, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials), satisfying everyone can be very challenging.
Post 5 (Ch. 6): The Home Depot
The main target markets for this brand is the average homeowner and contractors. As homeowners/contractors range in age this effects The Home Depot’s strategy in marketing each demographic, whether they are marketing to a 21 year old or a 39 year old. Whether you are experienced in home improvement projects or not, this company can apply to either of those categories. If your toilet chain breaks from the tank, the consumer is in the need recognition stage. Another stage is internal search for information and/or external search for information. Lets say the consumer had this happen to them in the past, based off the past experience of the chain breaking…they utilized internal research. Consumers have to keep in mind performance risk and financial risk when making purchases.
Consumers also make their purchases based off of psychological factors. Just the other day, my husband went to a baseball game, and they normally allow water in. As they management knows how hot of a day it was going to be, they prohibited water to be taken into the stadium. Although it was very unethical, people bought water as they needed to hydrate. Home Depot sells products that homeowners/contractors need. Ie. The homeowner needed to put a new chain on the flusher for toilet. It would be a major inconvenience to have to take the tank lid off every time they need to flush. In regards to wanting to install new molding around the ceiling of your living room, some peopled would say they needed to do it, when in actuality it was for the esteem needs.
Post 6 (Ch. 9): The Home Depot
The brands main competitor is Lowes. Lowes current market per share price is $96.14 per share. Which is significantly lower than The Home Depot. I don’t Lowes is the leader in the industry, in my opinion they are the follower. They go in the direction of The Home Depot. “With a stock price that has increased 135 percent over the last five years, Home Depot remains one of the few giant brick-and-mortar retailers to find success in the age of Amazon. Now, the $200 billion home improvement retailer is going on the biggest technology hiring spree in its history to try to maintain that edge.” (https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/18/home-depot-is-launching-its-biggest-tech-hiring-spree-ever-to-protect-its-lead-over-amazon.html) This goes to shows that The Home Depot found a threat is taking action. This is a very smart move.
This company uses different segmentation methods such as geographic segmentation, demographic segmentation, and psychographic segmentation to help engage in a more successful marketing strategy. They were able to do so by opening numerous stores, so they are conveniently positioned. They also have established online shopping and retail stores, so whether you are good with a computer or not, you are not limited. They also use differentiated targeting strategy to entice their consumers. An example of this is by providing generic faucets vs the more extravagant faucets.
Post 7: (Ch.10) The Home Depot
There is not anything real special about the packaging of The Home Depot products. They have a brown bag with their logo on it. Pretty simple. That is not a bad thing. They most likely chose this packaging to keep costs low and hence keeps the costs low for their customers. Which to me, the packaging is not a big deal when it comes to buying hardware items or equipment. Now if it was Victoria Secret, then that is another story. They market women, and they know women pay attention to the details. So they package their items very femininely and very elegantly.
If The Home Depot really wanted to, they could do marketing research to obtain primary and secondary data. They can even facilitate a sample to see what results came out of it. This can be costly, so maybe the management/owners may not feel the need to go that far into it. If their sales don’t seem to appear to be dropping. If they do decide to go through with the research, they can at least obtain information on their consumers.
