Adventure Maker (Windows, 1999-2013)

An easy-to-use first-person (primarily, but optionally third-person) adventure game engine, unsupported since 2013 and unavailable for purchase since 2017 (when the venerable Kagi registration service died). You can download it here.

You can find links to free games made with the program on the Wayback Machine here. Don't forget to check the linked sites on the live web too. Games listed as not working on Vista (and thus even following versions of WIndows) may work after using this patch from the Carol Reed series site (Carol Reed games 1-3 used to need it, but no longer do - the other games use other engines - game NINETEEN coming on Jan 1st!).

Half Life Zone, a possibly lost Russian addon to the 2002 pc port of Half Life.

From what I could gather, Half Life Zone is a utility pack for Half Life 2002. I can't find this anywhere online except for one post on archive.org. The "game" is actually avaliable to download and play, although it's all in Russian, and only displays clickable text boxes like the ones shown above.

When translated via google translate, the description of the post reads; "Everything you need to live in the Half-Disintegration period! Half-Life, a cult game of a whole generation of gamers, requires the most numerous add-ons, utilities and add-ons. More than 50 best maps, 5 bots, 5 tools for creating maps, 4 sound packs, 4 sets of scripts, 13 utilities (anti-cheat clients and programs, server utilities, utilities for users) have been selected for you.

Fun fact: this software is still functional, free to download, and you can find all the skins for free as well, if you guugle around. Windows only though.

I still use it to test my left and right speakers which sometimes go out, since it has control over that right in the main view.
