Vinnie Moore "Double Exposure"

L'elegant Vinnie Moore torna amb nou treball, on comparteix la seva técnica neta amb diferents vocalistes.

Per mi, és una inspiració sentir a aquest home carregat de feeling i bon gust. Sap perfectament com combinar els riffs i solos frenètics amb la pausa i melodia (m'encanta com ataca les notes agudes).

Anem al gra, i és que aquest àlbum sona molt roquer des de l'entrada fins el final, apostant per la balada "River Flow" o "One Day" i el mid-tempo "Hummingbird". Pels que ens agraden totes les vessants, aquest àlbum consta de 2 'parts'. La 1a (fins el 6è tema) cantada, on les veus ens fan sentir com si estigués amb els UFO (quina pena que no treguin res) però portant-los a unes dinàmiques més sobries. I la 2a (fins el final) 'a-la Moore', totalment instrumental.

Quelcom curiós que sovint fa Vinnie, és arranjar temes antics i dona'ls-hi un altre sentit, adaptant-los al seu nou treball. La prova la tenim en "In Too Deep", que és el "The Wild One" dels UFO en el "You Are Here". Encert o no, si el tema és seu (musicalment) doncs que faci el que vulgui.

Venint d'un "Soul Shifter" més fusionat, Vinnie Moore repren el vol amb un "Double Exposure" punyent.

Here are some predictions I have for Emmerdale for the rest of the year, if I'm being pessimistic and putting my Robert return hopes to the side... Let's see if I get any right.

Nate dies in the fire right after reuniting with Tracy and deciding to stay in Emmerdale

Losing Nate, Moira being ill and Zak's death will leave Cain in a very dark place, but eventually he'll step up for all the Dingles

The fire triggers John's army trauma, making him and Aaron grow closer

Aaron finds the Aiden Moore tags, and reacts badly, accusing John of lying about being a Sugden

John reveals that he lost Aiden in the war, making Aaron feel guilty and they bond over their losses and Aaron asks him to stay in the village or even move in with him

Zak's death or funeral will lead to Mandy's mother turning up in the village, putting a strain on Mandy's relationships with Paddy and Vinny

Caleb and Ruby will end up losing to Kim/Will/Jai and will be shunned by the Dingles again, but there is a tragedy in Ruby's past that will come out that 'changes everything'

Vinny will be there to support Belle, and Gabby won't be happy about it

Belle will spot Piper alive and eventually be reuinted with her

Victoria will tell Aaron to go for it with John and not feel guilty, because he deserves to be happy, and Robert would want that for him

Angelica returns home, being a total nightmare to everyone - especially Cathy and April

Arthur will get a new boyfriend

A bunch of Dingles return for Zak's funeral - if the show can convince the actors - otherwise they will find themselves unable to travel because of sick kids or being stuck overseas

Some big Dingle secret will also probably be revealed after Zak's death, maybe even another sibling for Cain/Sam/Belle

More health concerns for Sarah

An unplanned pregnancy for a 'lucky' lady is a given (maybe Tracy, Gabby or Ella again) and of course the threat of prison will loom over someone

Jai and Leyla pairing?

Chas and Liam continue to dance around their feelings and Ella will turn into a villain if she thinks Chas will steal her chance for happiness

After lunch Georgina and Vinnie stroll hand in hand down the beach towards the Whale Museum. The weather is beautiful, as befitting their wedding day. The brilliance of the sunlight makes their eyes water. The clouds seem much further away than they do in Appaloosa Plains, the sky infinitely vaster. Georgina stops to stare at a big blue and white cruiser moored at a nearby jetty. The signage on the boat reads ‘Ocean Explorer 2’.

“Ocean Explorer 2!” says Georgina. “That’s one of the boats that does the Whale Watching tours. I recognise it from the brochures at the resort. Do you want to see if we can book a tour for tomorrow or the next day? It’d be amazing to see a whale in real life!”

“Your wish is my command, Girl,” says Vinnie.

There is a booking office on the jetty, and a sandwich board advertising scuba diving and other activities. A pretty brunette with poreless skin and lips that look artificially plumped introduces herself as Lavinia, and tells Georgina and Vinnie that the Whale Watching tour leaves the jetty at 8 am every day and returns at approximately 1 pm. Lunch is included in the price.

“We’d love to book two spots for tomorrow, if that’s okay,” says Georgina.

“Not a problem,” says Lavinia, taking her money. “Please arrive twenty minutes early. The boat leaves at 8 am sharp. The Captain won’t wait for stragglers. And there are no refunds if you can’t get here on time. We do offer a full refund if there are no whale sightings, although that is extremely unlikely. In the entire time the tours have been operational that’s only happened once. Unlike on other whale watching tours.”  

“Okay, noted,” says Georgina, exchanging a glance with Vinnie. “Can we ask about the scuba diving as well? And all the other things you offer?”

Ten minutes later they are signed up for an extensive four-hour scuba diving session commencing tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. The following day, Wednesday, is their last full day in the Islands, and Lavinia books them a windsurfing session at 11 am and water skiing at 1.30 pm.

"Thank you so much for all your help," says Georgina, as a man enters the office. She notices Lavinia's face grow pink.

"My pleasure," says Lavinia. "May I introduce you to the ship's captain? This is Raj Patel. Raj, Georgina and Vinnie have booked tickets for tomorrow's whale watching tour. As well a lot of other activities!"

Raj smiles without showing his teeth.

"Let me guess. You're on your honeymoon?" he says.

"Yes! How did you know?" says Georgina.

"You have a certain glow about you," he says. "Both of you."

"How did you know that wasn't just sunburn?" says Vinnie.

Raj laughs.

"Because I know the difference between love and sunburn," he says.
