I'll be fair, it's about time Book Hiccup lost something! To be quite honest, Hiccup's plot armor was far too strong. He should've lost AT LEAST half as much as Alvin did with all the near-death experiences he had to deal with. I'm sure he had burns that the holes of his fire suit didn't cover. I honestly thought he would lose his arm in the final book because it still looked purple and swollen and bad. 😨

So yeah, if he lost this from, say, one of his battles against other Vikings, that would make sense. Considering a lot of Vikings we see in the books have lost eyes and limbs and noses and hair and what-not.

That being said, I wish Hiccup's armor was more loyal to the Books. Having dragon-tooth armor from a certain dragon species and putting it over his fire suit, and then adding some metal armor over areas that they can't cover would be great. Then add a nice helmet (added with the crown), his Roman shield, and his Dragonsword. Boom! Kingly attire! 👑😎
